Your Love is Eternity

You are in my missing and the happy time has no end. The unforgettable past events are in the memory. There really is no point in going back to relive painful memories unless you can work with you to build a better present. We do not always get that message. There are still many talk shows, reality shows, books, and feature articles that shine the spotlight on someone’s suffering as though suffering is a form of entertainment. Painful experiences may have a negative impact, but most likely, they also crated some of your strengths and special gifts. Whatever philosophy and experience may pretend on such subjects, it is certain that man is disposed to be superstitious in respect to the secret influences that guide his fortunes in the dark passage of the World. There is at least this good in life of toil, that it takes the nonsense and fancy-work out of a man, and leave nothing, but what truly belongs to him. Can mortal prayers ensure immortal happiness? When you do not get everything you require, the deprivation can help you become very resourceful.  One will learn some great survival skills, and will not passively waiting for someone else to provide for you. An older friend of mine taught me about masturbation. One day in his mansion, while we were changing from wet swim trunks, he asked me if I had every stroked it before. Well, I had not because I was not allowed to touch myself. He proceeded to soap up his penis and demonstrated his technique.

When I tried it, the sensations felt good, but unlike my friend, nothing came out of my penis. He told me to keep practicing, and I did. Several years later, I had my first ejaculation.  He is still fascinated by an old dream, which he cherished for many years. He says it was the greatest unfinished wonder in the World. Where a seal can catch a fish, a man could catch a hundred; where penguins can live a whole town could live. I call you “For real” of the newsroom because you are the truth. When you are pushed into a place where you have to keep yourself alert to avoid being hurt, one will often develop excellent observation skills and survival instincts. This will allow us to see what is going on around us faster than those who grew up protected by the adults in their lives. Everything about you makes me think you are a man of physical action, rather than the man of mental affairs. You are a little under six feet tall, tightly built, with a lean muscular frame and strong fair hair turning white. Your skin, like the skin of many models, and has a luminous golden hue. When you talk to me my mind lights up with prolific ideas, mostly serious subjects. There should always be one steady head to superintend many young ones.  You always made me feel welcome and safe. Your eyes were so intent when you told me about “A Summer Night.”

There was no thought of pleasing you when she christened. The last phrase indicates that the World of higher nature, which romance approaches is also a World not of time, but no fulfillment of time, the kind of fulfillment traditionally symbolized by the perpetual spring of paradise. The wound that bleedeth inward is most inward is most dangerous, the fire kept close burnest most furious, the oven dammed up baketh soonest, sore having no vent fester inwardly. If you witnessed a lot of dysfunctional behavior, it may have helped you learn how to avoid potentially harmful situations and people. The World of shipwreck, in White Squall (one of our favorite movies) and treachery has largely spent its force before the action of the movie begins. Gill Martin knew he was doomed the moment he stepped foot on the Albatross. When Gill is forced to face his fears and climb the rope to the top of the ship, his screams and wetting his pants foreshadows the honorable haunted natural man, whom the is trying to raise to a better level of nature. This also represents the total annihilation of everything in time which is the first fact of ordinary life. If you grew up with abusive or impaired parents, it may have strengthened your determination to be healthier in your own adult life. Art and life are identical on its higher level, and guaranteeing, more clearly than any story of lost paradise, a reality in our lives that is clear of the dissolving chaos of experience.

In this scene the interchange of reality and illusion has completed itself. We go out into the real World again, which we know now to be also an illusion because of a reality that we have glimpsed for an instant in the illusion of life. My life was filled with anxiety and worry, but I was able to cover it up, like a lot of people do, until I had an experience that caused me to hit rock bottom. If you grew up having to take care of your parents, you may have some very valuable skills as a listener, caretaker, provider, and counselor. (It is hard to find a dedicated mental health care provider who grew up in a perfect family. The word family evokes warm feelings, but for others it brings up misery or revulsion. As a child, you grew up in a large family with a lot of responsibilities. Family was a source of support and we learned to take responsibility for family gatherings at holidays and birthdays. It was then that you told me you were forced to face your anxieties, fears, dreads, and worries. The greatest discovery was made because you realized that your own strength was not enough. I experienced that discovery. I had nothing left of my own inner resources. I did not seem to have the strength, physically or emotionally to go on. Deep unspeakable suffering may well be called a baptism, a regeneration, the initiation into a new state.

If you felt unsafe with people as a child, you may have developed a very special relationship with nature, animals, books, art, music, sports, and so forth. Childhood suffering created many people whose self-reliance resulted in extraordinary achievements. It also created many people who are content engaging in solitary activities like reading, exploring outdoors, being an artist, or doing scientific research. Suicide is contrary to the first law of nature, self-preservation; and it shocks the natural feelings and common apprehensions of all mankind. You have many more strengths you are not aware of because of having been less fortunate than other children in how you were nurtured and raised. Keep in mind that within our vulnerabilities are the seeds of our greatest strengths. You are no longer a child; you have choices you did not have back then. I am here for you and always will me, I promise I will never leave you. No suicides permitted here, and no smoking in the parlour. Prayer is power within us to communicate with the desire beyond our thirsts. Have you seen that in the courtyard merged in the moonlight and the Spring breeze, I glean and glean in silence, all my yearning for you can neither sever my affection for you nor forget the dreams of love. I will remember forever your beautiful looks, those pillow soft lips, and sky-blue eyes, help me travel to the end of the World. You love is kind of eternity.

Pride is in some Instances a Virtue

Neither am I able to handle the captivating words nor do I intend to add more to all this conviviality. Willingness is an essential component of awareness. Making an active commitment to willingness means that you keep yourself open to new ideas, new insights, and new possibilities; it means that you are willing to learn new things about yourself and your relationships. We have to practice the willingness to become fully conscious, accept what we are learning about ourselves, and try out our new awareness-based skills. The seed of love is deeply embedded in your heart and mine.  Slow down and really pay attention to what is going on inside of you. Pay attention to the root of being alive: your breathing. Notice how your body is feeling and what is happening with your thoughts that circle around in your mind. Focus on bringing yourself into a state of being centered, calm, and alert. Be fully conscious so that all levels of your being are fully awake. Once one has gained friendship, hardship and agony will decrease and mirth and happiness will increase many times. By a good and strong root, your graces hold firm to the fabric of reality. Do not worry if it was difficult to do this mindfulness practice for the very first time. Everyone has trouble at first. It is not a normal activity for most of us living in a busy, loud, goal-driven World to do this kind of growth, without experiencing some difficulty.

As you gradually learn to be more fully conscious in many aspects of your life—your breathing, your thoughts, your body—you will become increasingly good at noticing what is going on when you are engaged in interactions with others. A rare bird upon the Earth, and very like a black swan, you will be able to observe yourself, noticing what kind of messages your mind may be giving you, or noticing how the other person responds to what you are doing or saying. By increasing your overall level of awareness through mindfulness practices, you will begin to feel much more capable of thinking and acting in new ways, in difficult areas of your life, especially in your intimate relationships. Love, the only way of travelling by which any knowledge is to be acquired. Dale had spent to long dreading the weekends. On weekdays, he was quite content with his life and his relationship. He went to work, had occasional dinners out with friends, went to his weekly computer classes, and went for long walks in the park with his dad, three times a week. He also enjoyed his phone conversations with his mother, who lived three hours away in Tennessee. Dale, and his dad, Matthew, spent almost every weekend together. They loved going for drives in the country, swimming, hiking, and watching movies. Matthew would cook, while Dale read a book, and then the two would spend hours, over dinner, talking about the material in the books, except the sex.

Dale was tortured by his discomfort with the topic of the sex that would sometimes appear in the books. Dale was celibate and his dad expected him to stay sexually shut down. Dale had never made love, as his dad told him the body is the temple of God and you cannot just share it at will. It has to be with the right person, and you are not mature enough to know what is right for you right now. As a result, people noticed that Dale seemed to not really be there. He felt numb physically, his mind went off to more comfortable places, and his emotions would get so bottled up that sometimes he would become irritable and a little blue. Dale would work on staying virtuous in his religion classes. He knew the root of this problem related to being sexually abused and having his spine fractured by someone old enough to be his grandfather, and he was not able to talk about this in the privacy of the therapist’s office. Dale kept his dad, Matthew, in the dark about this, both literally and figuratively. He was afraid to tell him, because these kinds of things just do not happen to young men, even though he knew that his father knew. For Dale, spending time with his father really made a change in his life. His father, Matthew suggested that they walk through the park and take pictures of the castle, trees, flowers, statues, and grass, and then go home and write a journal and include the pictures. This was a daily assignment. To Dale’s delight, he started to get happier, and stay more present.

Once Dale was able to stay in his mind and body—a little bit at a time—he became able to allow himself to feel more pleasure in life. It was a huge breakthrough for him when he became capable of staying aware of who he was and understanding that he was loved. However, when Matthew would leave the country, for business, Dale was haunted by violent ghost from his traumatic past. We are all experts on ourselves, but sometimes our parents know us better than we know ourselves. We know how we perceive the World, but you have to understand, they have been here longer. Life for a youth is a lot like coming in 30 minutes after Secrets and Lies aired that evening, but your parents have already been watching for hours, so they are aware of things you may have missed out on, and have a more complete view of what is really going on. Although mindfulness practice does not magically transform all the places where people may feel helpless or hopeless, it is a tool that can gradually open many doors. One can begin incorporating mindfulness in once a day for five minutes. Daily practice will help one calm and center oneself. What is impossible to undo might be easily prevented.

Close to My Heart

Let us listen to the blessings of the Earth in this beautiful and warm World. I wish you a happy and a successful study in this promising new year. Parenting is a very demanding and very important part of adult life for many women and men, however, unfortunately, it can seriously erode couple intimacy. When professionals or friends collude in keeping the focus entirely on parenting issues, the underlying distancing in the couple’s behavior can escape detection and leave one or both partners trapped in the continuing loneliness. This form of distancing happens most often when one parent is much more involved with the children than the other. Another variation in eroded intimacy occurs when one parent becomes jealous of the other’s closeness with the children, which sometimes leads both parents to become distancers. Another type of erosion in the couple relationship can take place when both parents are so consumed with parenting their children that they have to time left over to nurture themselves as a couple. Still another scenario happens when the parents engage in major battles around child-rearing issues, and by so doing demolish their capacity to feel tenderness and affection for each other.

All of these dilemmas require intervention, but focusing exclusively on the parenting issues may overlook yet another kind of distress. In many of these situations, parents may use the requirement to nurture their children to distance from true intimacy with each other, without having any idea they are doing so. Two teenagers who died abruptly after being told of the death of someone close to them. In another case, a 14-year-old girl died after being told that her 16-year-old brother had suddenly died; in a third case, an 18-year-old girl died upon being told of the death of a grandfather who had helped raise her. A 16-year-old boy collapsed and died at 6am, 14 February 2016; his other brother had died at 5.13 am, 14 February2016, of multiple injuries incurred in an auto accident several hours earlier. The cause of the younger  boy’s death was massive subarachnoid hemorrhage caused by a ruptured anterior communicating artery aneurysm. Investigators have noted the link between interpersonal difficulties, depression, and sudden death from coronary attack. The coincidence of grief and human loss that seemed to surround so many of the sudden deaths. The psychosocial circumstances that surround sudden death was preceded by a combination of circumstances that included both feelings of depression and increased work.

Common to at least 50 percent of the sudden deaths was the departure of the last or only child in the family for a college or marriage, in response to which the patient had been depressed. Investigators also observed that a large number of patients who had a heart attack, but survived to reach the hospital also mentioned that a child had recently left home. So long as there is the heart’s beat, there will be the blood’s ebb and flow, but your smile will be printed on the silvery moon arising from my little window to arouse my fond memories. Too much or too little focus on the past can also lead to intimacy failures. Sometimes, the past can obstruct necessary repairs to current intimacy when there is denial of its impact. On the other hand, experiences from the past can remain so central to someone’s emotional life that the current relationships (or potential partner) becomes eclipsed. Let us recall the pleasant past and mirthful laughter and look forward to a day of reunion of friends coming from far and wide.

Some people distance from intimacy because they have not been willing to look at their past relationships. They have not come to terms with either the pain of the past or its lessons. Other people distance from relationships in the present by focusing too much of their attention and energy on the past. Another major mistake is to focus too completely on one person’s problems or impartments. This happens when one person is consumed with an addiction to a chemical substance or to work or gambling or online chat rooms, Twitter, or any other addictive preoccupation. Currently, perhaps the most common reason for intimacy to suffer or vanish entirely is an exclusive focus on someone’s history of past trauma and the resulting issues. Talk shows, professional helpers, friends, and family members perpetuate the myth that the trauma must be resolved before the relationship problem can be addressed. It is impossible to wrap up the trauma work and then move on dealing with the relationship. It is more productive to determine how everything is related and then to address all aspects of the trauma’s legacy, including its effect on creating healthy intimacy.

In order to heal, become aware of your own natural learning style and process. Pay attention to how your mind and body are connected. Address your self-image, the story you tell yourself and others about who you are. Are the tactics you use to hand on to your distancing style based in externalizing blame (it is his fault, not mine), and experiential avoiding feelings, interactions, risk-taking), denial, dissociation, addiction, learned helplessness? Become more aware of how you are influenced by your connection to other, how social and cultural context affect you, how you feel and act in couple relationships. One must become more aware of the fears, anxieties, and losses that one has been trying to unsuccessfully bury.  It is time to let go of the past and become an architect of a new future. I cannot understand why anyone would choose to sit on social media and be miserable, when they are so many beautiful and happy people in the World. Reach out to the person of your dreams and make life happen. Everyone can build their own happiness. May we build our own lucky building with our hands in life.

Anger Control and Prosocial Behavior

It is okay to admire other people and be respectful and smile. You can appreciate the beauty of another without being angry, bitter, or jealous. Pray for each other and wish people well. You get what you put out in the World. Perhaps you are unhappy because you make a lot of other people unhappy. Your bad vibes, thoughts, actions and words are the reason you feel like you are less of a person. To be happy, you have to love yourself and find something that makes you feel connected to reality. On a personal level, psychologists have succeeded in teaching some people to control their anger and aggressive impulses. Anger control is a personal strategy for reducing or curbing anger. The key to self-control and keeping calm is to figure out what is upsetting you. Do you have a mental issue or is there a legitimate reason for you to be so angry and project that anger on to others? A patient man has great understanding, but a quick-tempered man displays folly.  To figure out what is truly going on, to limit anger, people are advised to: define the problem as precisely as possible. Are you mad because he took your parking space, or are you mad because you woke up too late and did not make it to work in time to get your favorite parking space?

Secondly, make a list of all of the possible solutions to deal with your anger issues. For example, are mad at Elle Woods because she is annoyingly happy and pretty, or do you just wish you had the same qualities as Elle Woods, and instead of trying to be a better person, you just hate her? Next, think about some solutions to your problems. If you want to be more like Paris Hilton, maybe you can get to know her and find out what she is doing to be so happy. Then, choose a solution to your problem. If you want that parking space, go to bed earlier and wake up on time. If you want to be as smart as Ryan, then spend more time studying. In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. And lastly, consider how successful the solution to your problem is and make adjustments if necessary. Taking these steps has helped many people to lessen tendencies toward child abuse, family violence, and other destructive outburst.  There are also programs out there to help you deal with your anger issues talk to your doctor and I am sure they can help you. It is clear that there are a lot of mentally unhealthy people in society, they do not smile, and they are constantly spreading their unhappiness.

A highway will be there; it will be called the Way of Holiness; it will be for those who walk on that Way. The unclean will not journey on it; wicked fools will not go about on it. However, there are still a lot of good people in society, who believe in being prosocial. Prosocial behavior is actions that are constructive, altruistic, or helpful for others. You have to notice others and care about their well-being. What would happen if you got beat up and were left lying in a pool of your own blood and people walk by and laughed at you? Would you want someone to stop? Or would you like them to ignore you and let you die? In everything, therefore, treat people the same way you want them to treat you, for this is the Law and the Prophets. Another good idea is to take responsibility, do not be a victim; you are the architect of your own fate and happiness. Being angry with others will get you nowhere, try to be a good person, try to help others, and try to care. You have to do this with a true heart and no malice. It is okay to talk to other people and say nice things to them. Everyone wants to feel included, and clearly you do too, or else you would not be so angry and mean. For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: Love your neighbor as yourself.

A Light Heart this Valentine’s Day

Your love is from the imagination, not the heart. Valentine’s Day is coming up, and it is important to do something for that special someone, to let them know you care. Love is an intellectual pleasure, and even the senses will be weakly affected where the heart is silent. People think that Valentine’s Day means you have to spend a lot of money on the object of your affection, but that is not true. My friend’s husband did the most romantic time-consuming things to show his wife how much he cares. This kind man took the time out of his life to write his wife 52 original notes about why he loves her. He put the notes in a jar, and she can open one every week, for a year, until next Valentine’s Day. This is so sweet to me and I would love it if someone did something like this. The couple is well off, but they know that gifts from the heart are what matter. I have talked to this man before, and I was impressed by him. He is very straight forward, nice, and a good guy, and they have the most adorable baby boy.

Secrets and Lies in the Rain

What is the use of a book without pictures or conversation? Ben Crawford was a self-employed carpenter and boat builder. His wife Christi was a real estate agent. Ben was obviously anxious, he was a tan, baby faced, blonde, with blue eyes. He ran his fingers through his luxurious hair, then crossed his arms, and stared at me with his deep blue eyes. His bright eyes filled with tears, “The rainiest nights, like the rainiest lives, are by no means the saddest.” Then Ben looked at me again, wiping tears from his eyes.

Please Stop using Drugs

Many youths are addicted to Marijuana these days. The drug is viewed as cool and safe because it is natural, but it may be a very dangerous drug. Marijuana can make a pre-existing mental problem worse, it could create a new psychotic mental issue, or it may cause a drug-induced psychosis. Marijuana causes a dysfunction in the brain, which cause a person to feel intoxicated, or unstable. Marijuana can make a person feel a loss of inhibition, confusion, unable to concentrate, and it can also affect motor skills, which make it unsafe to drive or operate heavy machinery. Marijuana can also make one’s breath smell foul and cause one to extremely overeat, even when they are not hungry. It can basically put you in a trace, where you are unaware of what you are doing, and you may not even remember the next day. A lot of marijuana is laced with even more dangerous drugs like PCP, speed, cocaine and more. There have been cases of people ending up in the hospital from smoking a bad batch of marijuana. Some have never even regained their total cognitive function. Marijuana also causes people to hear things and see things that are not there. So, it can be very dangerous. People who smoke marijuana all the time are called burnouts. They do not notice it, but others can tell that their minds are gone because they cannot control the drug, and they are slow and lethargic. And marijuana is addictive. The more you smoke it, the more you will crave it. Also, if you are stopped while being high on marijuana, you can go to jail and lose your license. Marijuana can cause mental problems or make mental problems worse. Please be safe, and if you need to relax, talk to your doctor, they can help. Marijuana is the third most used drug, nearly 33 percent of Americans use marijuana, so it is very common. However, critics are saying that the war on drugs is hurting more people than it is helping because people are caught with small amounts of pot and sent to jail or prison because of that. In fact, about 750,000 are arrested for possession or distribution of marijuana each year and that is costing tax payers $10 Billion annually. That is more the number of people who are arrested for all violent crimes combined.  California’s Lieutenant Governor Gavin Newsom reports that he is willing to put his reputation on the line to legalize marijuana.

Legalizing marijuana will reduce arrest and potentially save the taxpayers money, but there are also some specific consequences. If marijuana becomes legal, then drug dealers will lose a major cash crop because users can just purchase pot at the local store. Therefore, dealers will have to sell more dangerous drugs like crystal meth, crack cocaine and cocaine. These drugs are far more addictive than pot, so young kids will probably get strung out on more treacherous drugs, as a result of marijuana becoming legal. Crack Cocaine is known as the humble man’s cocaine. It is a central nervous system stimulator. Crack Cocaine became popular in the 1980s mostly in urban areas because of marketing, availability, and affordability of the substance. Crack cocaine has been reported to have a powerful and fast intoxicating effect. The high from crack cocaine is descried as immediate, intense and euphoric, it is said to make one feel powerful, and it is extremely addictive. Crack cocaine is made from powder cocaine, water, ammonia or sodium, and bicarbonate also known as baking soda. The mixture is then boiled, filtered, clouded, dried, and cut into small rocks or pebbles.  These small rocks, crack cocaine, are typically white or tan. Crack cocaine is generally ingested by crushing the rocks into a fine powder and snorting, mixing with water and using an instrument to inject the solution in the bloodline, and it can also be smoked in a glass pipe. People who use needles to inject crack cocaine run the risk of getting diseases that can be deadly from sharing unclean instruments.

Crack cocaine is most often smoked. Crack cocaine got its name because of the crackling sounds it makes when it is being smoked in a glass pipe. It makes some feel energized, and they do not know the dangerous impact from the drug. Crack cocaine or rocks increase the body temperature, blood pressure and heart rate.  Use of rocks or crack can cause heart attacks, respiratory failure, stroke, seizures, abdominal pain and nausea.  Crack can also cause sudden death, upon first use, or shortly after. Crack rocks are between 75 up to 90 percent cocaine. Because of the low-cost crack cocaine, it is also of interest to young suburban kids and young adults. Crack cocaine has been used by 8.6 million people 12 and over and 6.9 percent of people between the ages of 18 -25 admitted to using this dangerous substance.  Crack cocaine is dangerous because it causes a short intense high, and shortly after is followed by a forceful downheartedness, which leaves the users with a robust and ceaseless thirst for more of the drug. Within four years, 25 percent of the people who use cocaine become addicted. Crack cocaine also has some very powerful side effects.  Smoking crack cocaine is dangerous because of the toxic fumes, the damages it can do to the lungs and body, and because the pipe can burn ones lip. There is no safe way to ingest crack. Crack can also cause long term damage to the heart, liver and kidneys.  It is also said to cause sleep deprivation, loss of appetite and malnutrition.  People who use crack cocaine are said to behave aggressively, violent, and bizarre.  It has been suggested that people will go as far as murdering someone just for another rock.  Crack cocaine also cause hallucinations, irritability, panic, and psychosis, shortness of breath, constricted blood vessels, and bleeding.

Furthermore, Crack cocaine has been illegal since the 1914 tax act because it can be destructive, highly addictive and extremely dangerous. 90 percent of cocaine that makes it to the United States comes from Columbia. There are about 567,000 known users of crack cocaine in the United States. It has been reported that yearly about 42,000 people are admitted to hospital emergency rooms because of injuries from crack cocaine. Crack cocaine is also associated with prostitution, violent crimes and gang related crimes. Another warning about using crack cocaine is it comes with other harsh punishments. Since the war on drugs went into effect, the sentences for those who abuse crack cocaine more stringent than it is for those who use pure cocaine. Cocaine users are generally more affluent, so they can afford pure cocaine, snow. It is called snow because it is so pure and white, as it does not have fillers in it like crack cocaine does.  In fact, if one is arrested with 28 grams of crack cocaine, they will serve a mandatory minimum five-year prison sentence. However, if cocaine users are arrested to trigger the threshold for the mandatory minimum five-year prison sentence, that person must be caught with 500 grams of pure cocaine.  Some say the higher penalty is to teach a lesson, but others believe that this is economic discrimination. Critics say that the law goes easier on cocaine offenders because they are typically well-off, whereas users of crack cocaine are considered less important to society because they generally earn less, and may not contribute as much, financially, to the system. “Any man who has the brains to think and the nerve to act for the benefit of the people of the country is considered a radical by those who are content with stagnation and willing to endure disaster,” reports William Randolph Hearst.

There is Romance in Every Life

The wisdom of Love, the highest wisdom ever known upon this Earth, a face engraved with a hostile beauty. A man can never do anything at variance with his own nature. He carries within him the germ of his most exceptional action; and if we wise people make eminent fools of ourselves, on any particular occasion, we must endure the legitimate conclusion that we carry a few grains of folly to our ounce of wisdom. A wise man is never dejected at a disappointment, and often turns a misfortune to his advantage in the end. Perfection is always found in maturity, whether it be in the animal or in the intellectual World. Reflection is the mother of wisdom, and wisdom the parent of success. To act right simply because it is one’s duty is proper; but a good action which is the result of no law of reflection shines more than any! To preserve Romance (we exchange a sky for a ceiling if we let it go), we must inside the heads of our people as well as the hearts, more than shaking the kaleidoscope of hurried spectacles, in days of a growing activity of the head. Men seldom risk their lives where an escape is without hope of recompense.

Man must ever be the slave of routine; but in the old days, it was a routine of great thoughts, and now it is a routine of little words. Poor, blind, conceited humanity! Interpreters of God, indeed! We reduce the Deity to vulgar fractions. We measure infinity with a foot-rule. I am not laughing at any man’s religion. Let them follow their consciences, that is all! Only I think it would be better if their consciences would let them stay quiet in the church—there is a deal to be learnt there. And there is such a thing as being oversperitial; we must have something besides Gospel in this World. If prudence consists in wishing well to oneself, young flirts are as prudent as antiquated loves. There is no worse place to starve than in Paris. The appearances of life are there so especially gay, it is so much a magnified beer-garden, the houses are so ornate, the theatres so numerous, the very pace of the vehicles is so brisk, that a man in any deep concern of mind or pain of body is constantly driven in upon himself. To other eyes than ours, evil may be good, and darkness more beautiful than day, or all alike be fair. “Remember the former age, for I am God, and there is no God beside, neither is there the like to me.” Ps 46:9

 The Winchester Mystery House

The Winchester Mystery House was reported to be haunted by evil spirits. Dreadful noises were heard; and flames were seen, by night, to issue from various apertures. https://winchestermysteryhouse.com/

Time of Conflict

The modern Master of Chemistry promise very little; they know that metals cannot be transmuted ad that the elixir of life is a chimera. However, these philosophers whose hands seem only made to dabble in dirt, and their eyes to pore over the microscope or crucible, have indeed performed miracles. They penetrate into the recesses of nature and show how one works in one’s hiding place.  They ascend into the Heavens; they have discovered how the blood circulates, and the nature of the air we breathe. They have acquired new and almost unlimited powers; they can command the thunders of Heaven, mimic the Earthquake, and even mock the invisible World with its own shadows. A secret is always accompanied by more or less of fear, and produces more or less of cowardice. When Gold Almighty wills it, our secrets are found out. For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open. The Holy Scriptures impart to us knowledge and assurance of things much more worthy our attention than all which this World can offer to our acceptance; of things which Heaven itself hath condescended to reveal to us, and to the smallest knowledge of which the highest human wit unassisted could never ascend. The discovery of a secret implies no obligation to retain it.

There is a rebellious soul in things which must be overcome by powerful charms and incantations. When the human—the physical—system is put under the effect of an excessive stimulant, whether grape, opium, or poison, taken in a quantity not sufficient to produce death, there is for a time, an unnatural exaltation, a tremendous accession of velocity in all the wheels of life. Whatever may be the evils resulting from a too susceptible heart, nothing can be hoped from an insensible one. A man without sensibility exhibits no sign of a soul. Nothing renders the soul so callous and insensible as the searing brands of infamy and disgrace. The pain of parting is nothing to the joy of meeting again. It seems that human beings compounded especially for happiness have no longer any business on Earth, or elsewhere. Life has grown so sadly serious, that such must change their nature, or else perish, like the antediluvian creatures, that required, as the condition of their existence, a more summer-like atmosphere than ours. The increasing seriousness of things—the great opportunity of jokes, there are so many who forget to think seriously till it is almost too late. Who can part, forever; only when we come so close that nothing separates us can we meet again, only when what binds us is not my need of your or your need of me nor any chance circumstance, but a deep ingrained likeness of nature that cannot pass away.

The value of an idea has nothing whatsoever to do with the sincerity of the man who expresses it. Sometimes no matter how hard some people try, no matter how hard they work, they cannot seem to help themselves. Frequently do we labor to secure the things that debase us into slaves, and overwhelm us with calamity. Great men will take advantage of those who need help to advance their own causes. Trying to build a reputation and create a career, a man found that people just expected and exploited his work for their benefit, giving him nothing in return. His honorable efforts just seem to produce more threats and exploitation. There is a forsaking which still sits at the same board and lies on the same couch with the forsaken soul, withering it the more by unloving proximity. Sincerity is the true knight. At no time are people so sedulously careful to keep their trifling appointments, attend to their ordinary occupations, and thus put a commonplace aspect on life, as when conscious of some secret that if suspected would make them look monstrous in the general eye. There would hardly be a guilty person in the World, were each suspected or accused person to tell his or her own story and be allowed any degree of credit. There is nothing more terrible to a guilty heart, than the eye of a respected friend. Money, you think, is the sole motive to pains and hazard, deception and deviltry, in this World. How much money did the devil make by gulling Eve? There is no dignity in wickedness, whether in purple or rags; and hell is a democracy of devils, where all are equals.

Proof Must be Built up Stone by Stone

Well, I have had enough of rationalizing. You do not know what is going to happen, so you cannot justify your actions based on speculation. For instance, “I know you are going to destroy this, so let me take you to court and sue you for ten million before you do.” Yet all of this stuff that has happened and been proven goes unpunished and overlooked? Whenever a person says to you that they are as innocent as lambs in all concerning money, look well after your own money, for they are dead certain to collar it, if they can. Whenever a person proclaims to you, “In Worldly matters I am a child,” you consider that that person is only crying off from being held accountable, and that you have got that person’s number, and it is Number One. In the cold courts of justice, the honorable heads demand oaths, and holy writ proofs; but in the warm halls of the heart one single, untestified memory’s spark shall suffice to enkindle such a blaze of evidence, that all the corners of conviction are as suddenly lighted up as a midnight city burning building, which on every side whirls its reddened brands.

To know your own happiness, and that it is now, nor to leave it to after-reflection to look back upon the preferable past with a heavy and self-accusing heart, that you did not choose it when you might have chosen it, is all that is necessary to complete your felicity. God deadens all other sensations, or rather absorbs them all in the love of Him. The gifts of God are to be enjoyed, when the Giver is remembered. The growth of the mind is the widening of consciousness…each step forward has been a most painful and laborious achievement. Love comes when you dare to reveal yourself fully. When you dare to be vulnerable, you may open your heart to love. When a little girl performs for the benefit of a paternal audience, hoping to gain the father’s attention, his interest, his good humor, his affection, she may dance, sing, or dress herself in pretty clothes, and the father will no doubt be pleased and will admire this slightly seductive feminine display with warm benevolence. However, what will a little boy do to match this performance? Shall he give a corresponding display of manly strength and athletic prowess? Will it produce the same affectionate reaction?

Clearly it might make the father happy; but even more clearly, it is less likely to, human vanity being what it is. For just as the daughter’s performance contains an element of flattery, so the son’s admiring emulation, on balance it requires more emotional maturity as he does that of the daughter. If the father lacks this maturity, or if for any reason the son feels uncertain of his tolerance and love, the only role left open to him if he wishes somehow to complement his sister’s performance, is to play the role of buffoon and make his father laugh. If his sister does a graceful dance, he will do a comic one. Thus, he will give the father pleasure without challenging him in anyway.  The only art of living is to confine our wishes within the limits of our circumstances. It is not hard to make a decision when you know what your values are. Throughout history, it has been the inaction of those who could have acted, the indifference of those who should have known better, the silence of the voice of justice when it mattered most, that has made it possible for evil to triumph. When men or women are about to commit, or to sanction the commission of some injustice, it is not uncommon for them to express pity for the object either of that or some parallel proceeding, and to feel themselves, at the time, quite virtuous and moral, and immensely superior to those who express no pity at all. Who shall put his finger on the work of justice, and say, “It is there”? Justice is like the Kingdom of God—it is not without us as a fact, it is within us as a great yearning.
