Secrets and Lies—Good and Evil

Outward ceremonies will not compensate for the want of virtue. The impulses of love are so subtle, and the influences of false reasoning, when enforced by eloquence and passion, so unbounded, that no human virtue is secure from degeneracy. Heroes and villains are largely defined by their treatment of others. Ben Crawford is considered a hero because he is kind to everyone he comes into contact with, and he is also sensitive. Ben Crawford likes to pursue more happiness-seeking activates and experience good emotions, and we see this in him before the murder of Tom Murphy. After the murder of his son, Tom Murphy, Ben Crawford experiences a roller coaster of good and unpleasant emotional states, but he does not let this compel him to the dark side. While everyone is mistreating Ben, playing him for a fool, trying to trap him into a relationship, or sponging off of him, he remains emotionally stable and is still able to experience some happiness and satisfaction in life. We see that Ben is still happy when he takes his daughter and Jess Murphy to the county fare. When examining Secrets and Lies, it is easy to think of suspense as intense entertainment or something the audience is interested solely as a form of escaping from reality, for a while. However, by engaging in this program, the audience is using this World to learn to critically think and form conclusions about their own existence, relationships, and figure out what really matters to them.

People are able to explore their humanity, spirituality, and psychological nature. As you watch Secrets and Lies, you think about why some people do good things, why some people do bad things? You will also consider what factors influence the choices people make? The characters are all morally complex, and you see what motivates people do behave the way they do. Nonetheless, things are not always what they seem to be. In cases like Ben Crawford, many people in the audience wonder why no one speaks up against the atrocities committed against Ben Crawford and his family, and why do people add to his suffering? It is inconceivable that a righteous person would sit back and watch a man be tortured and do nothing to stop it. Those who do not act are looked at as being indifferent or evil. However, we know that normal people can do some very evil things given the proper motivation. Kevin Williams, the African America neighbor used to work for the CIA, and is used to being discriminated against, he has a grudge against society, and when he gets the chance, he returns the favor by kidnapping Ben Crawford and trying to force a confession out of him. Jess Murphy, had an affair with Ben and gave birth to his son in secret, when he will not engage in a relationship with him, she accuses him of rape to make sure he goes down in flames.

Christi Crawford is rather cold and professional, she feels betrayed by the situation and does the best she can to be a good wife and support her husband, but she is hurt because she made some choices that she is not necessarily comfortable with and feels a little concerned that she may be responsible for how this situation turned out. While someone else in the miniseries just wanted to eliminate someone, they found undesirable and inferior. Often times, when people are given power, and they are not mature, nor used to having power, they will more than likely try to punish others, will be hostile, and will enjoy the power they have other others. They seem to be compelled to commit atrocities, engage in abuse, and generally treat others as subhuman. And although many people feel like hating Christi Crawford, at least she never displayed those traits, like Kevin, Jess, and detective Cornell did. Many people in Secrets and Lies engage in harmful and atrocious acts toward Ben Crawford, and they also diffuse responsibility. They demonstrate how human nature can be truly painful due to the experiences others have, and are looking to blame someone else, in this case Ben Crawford, for the choices and decisions they made. It is not that Ben Crawford is a bad guy, however, the community members are hiding evil inside of their souls and Ben is the perfect target to release it on because he has been demonized by the police and the media.

It makes these people feel good to take their frustrations out on a mark and to sit back and judge him, as it takes the attention off of them and makes them feel superior and important despite the pain and suffering, they are inflicting on an innocent man. After people engage in this game, they feel they have no choice and must go on. Knowingly causing harm to Ben Crawford, the community is engaging in a war against this man. They know what they are doing is extremely painful, and none of them express concern for his health nor safety. Many of the participants demonstrate clear signs of distress, including nervous laughing, sweating, groaning, and psychotic splits with reality.  It is like these people are all following some kind of demonic orders from an authority figure and go far beyond their moral limits to inflict physical and psychological torture onto Ben Crawford. For example, it comes to light the Tom Murphy, Ben’s son, was murdered by a blow to the head with a flashlight, and someone breaks into Ben’s garage and places several flashlights like the murder weapon in his garage, and takes a key and scratches his car with it, in addition to spray painting “Child Killer” with red spray paint on his garage. The people in the community relinquish personal responsibility for their actions to Satan, an authority figure. This is known as authoritarian obedience. So Ben Crawford is seen as disobedient as he refuses to submit to Satanic rule and take the case for a murder he did not commit and is cited for insubordination and could face execution.

Research indicates that capital punishment is not an effective deterrent to criminal behavior, but a murder has been committed and someone must pay and Ben Crawford is the perfect scapegoat. Also, after what the community has done to Ben Crawford, making him pay for this murder will alleviate them from facing any criminal charges for the unlawful acts they have committed against him. And still, the community members do not see themselves as evil because they have convinced themselves that Ben Crawford is evil, when he is a very good guy, and that it is acceptable to treat him anyway they want to. And that is where that saying, “It takes one to know one” comes from. Essentially, much like Tom Murphy, Ben Crawford is deemed inferior and oppression and slaughter of him is acceptable in the minds of these demonically possessed people. Their sense of morality seems alien compare with Ben Crawford’s compassion and empathy. People are taught that they are superior to Ben Crawford because he has been accused of a crime, and this legitimizes actions that would otherwise be seen as reprehensible. Anyone who speaks out on behalf of Ben Crawford is likely to be chastised and others conform to avoid negative attention. Ben Crawford knows he is under threat and that his life could be extinguished at any moment. And community members who threaten, oppose, or abuse Ben Crawford are seemingly rewarded because someone has to pay for this murder and they are all making the investigation easy on law enforcement. However, not everyone in the community embodies evil, Christi Crawford is one of Ben’s best allies. Ben Crawford is condemned by nature and fortune to an active and restless life.

The Country Upstairs Prevents Massacres and Mass Shootings!

It is better to hear a lark sing than the rat speaking. Psychologists have always been fascinated by humanity’s spiritual nature. The forces in the Universe cannot be reversed. As the shift of dimensions continues, only natural forces of reality will prevail.  All manifested forms of illusion created by the altered-Ego will crumble within the next few years. All synthesized items that are a part of this altered consciousness will actually vanish from this plane. Therefore, those who might not have your best interest at heart are themselves governed by the window.  Great polarities will become more and more apparent, as the World observes, through the eyes of the media, the crumbling of social structures, religious groups, and sciences.

Humans are apparently a unique species in that they possess the advanced neurological mind program and cognitive structure necessary to reflect on their own existence and consider: Why are we here? What happens when this lifeline ends? Is there more to the World than what our sense can detect? Is there are grander meaning to our lives? Do what have an immaterial essence—a soul that transcends the material body? You are learning through experience to become a forever being, which is your natural state. It will not be uncommon for people to live for thousands of years, if they choose to do so upon this plane. For the great mystery of death will be no longer necessary for the sake of the experience.

There will be more than one pathway into the future existence. Many will have the knowledge to expand their molecular structure through conscious vibratory shifting of their new energy fields. One way humans grapple with these kinds of existential questions is by subscribing to and investing in religious faiths, or what psychologist refer to as cultural Worldviews. Religious pursuits are not exclusively tied to activities like attending church services, praying, or studying sacred texts. Our species also explores religions and spirituality through storytelling. Our ancestors told stories of mythical creatures, supernatural agents, and gods with different powers and motives. We are not so different.

As humans, we are motivated by the goal of eternal life, but we know that we are mortal. However, the prospect of death is scary so we want to believe in an afterlife because that reduces anxiety surrounding death. Anxiety compromises mental health, so beliefs that help people cope with fear of the future prove to be beneficial. Belief in God is the belief in supernatural, and this system paves a way to immortality to those who believe in God. John 3.16 reports, for God loved the World, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Temper your anger, your rage. This is quintessential at this time. The time of that experience is over now. It will only solidify that other reality. Stop your judgment of those all around you; learn to allow the differences.

dsetjetu

Be your own truth. Religious beliefs involve supernatural thinking: thoughts and attitudes that relate to entities, events, or actions that are at odds with our understanding of the laws of physics. Cognitive and developmental psychologist have confirmed that supernatural thinking is a normal part of human development, which can help children what they see around them. Long before humans came up with scientific explanations for natural phenomena, supernatural thinking helped our ancestors make sense of the World. To some in developing counties, concepts like WiFi (wireless internet) and airplanes are still considered supernatural forces, as they cannot explain how they work. In 1995, if you heard about someone investing in wireless internet, you would have thought that that were foolish, and now it is a reality. In the 17th century, someone speaking of a flying machines would have been called a witch. And if you could produce such a machines, you may have been burned at the stake.

cscscsc

In the same sense, spirituality is still considered supernatural to others because it is something they cannot explain, nor can they prove it right now, as most human minds are not advanced enough. Therefore, supernatural thinking is not confined to childhood or the ancestral World, people believe in God, people believe they have souls, but they cannot necessarily prove that. Many 21st century adults subscribe to supernatural beliefs. Psychological research indicates that religious supernatural thinking serves psychological functions and actually keeps people safe. To further illustrate this point, religion increases people’s sense of control when they feel stressed out or uncertain. People who believe in God know not to cause harm to others because it is against God’s law. However, because supernatural beliefs are at odds with a scientific understanding of the World, tension may arise between religious individuals who hold such beliefs and nonreligious people who reject God.

cVadvad

Some people argue that a religious belief in a supernatural force is antiquated and inferior to a more scientific, technological Worldview. However, you notice since prayer has been taken out of school, and children no longer fear their parents, the World has become increasingly violent. As details surrounding the San Bernardino, California, USA shooting gradually emerge, President Obama reports a pattern of mass shootings in America has no parallel anywhere else in the World. 14 people were killed and 17 others where injured on 2 December 2015 by a mass shooter. In the year of 2015, in America, there were 355 mass shootings, and we have only had 336 days this year. So there are more mass shootings than days in the year. People who believe in religion acknowledge that there are forces beyond science at work in the Universe, and also believe that science and technology have limits and therefore embrace the supernatural, religious qualities of the World.

cvdv

Self-control is a lifestyle. Psychologists have also noticed that religious-inspire practices can benefit mental and physical healthy by helping people exercise self-control. People who have self-control can regulate their emotions and behavior. Religion teaches humans that our body is the temple of God and that we should treat our body with care, and practice humility, patience, mindfulness, and compassion. And medication and prayer help to regulate human behavior because they feel these methods release their frustrations, dreams, thoughts, prayers, and goals and that God will protect them and provide a way for them. When people are exposed to religion, they are better able to endure discomfort, criticism, and delay gratification, and are able to better handle challenging tasks. Religion also provides a sense of meaning in life, and because people think their lives are meaningful, they tend to be healthier and live longer because they love and have something to live for.  When people are angry and want to hurt others, their level of self-control determines whether or not they act on these urges. Adam Lanza, Dylan Storm Roof, and Syed Rizwan Farook, and Tashfeen Malik would not have massacred people if they believed in God. Do to others as you would have them do to you.

Queen of the Damned—Successful Women Never Lose

cvsffs

Nature never duplicates her products, however persistently she may adhere to types. Everyone in the World has the ability to recognize certain figures. Archetypes are considered influential in myth, history, and the present. People focus on certain individuals because these people are in some place others would like to be or because they possess some quality that many wish they had. For women of all walks of life, there is a requirement to grow into a leader that the World respects, in a male-dominated society. Sometimes women are punished for being too successful or driven because they do not adhere to antiquated stereotypes of being inferior, passive, dependent, easy, or powerless.

xcV

The film, Queen of the Damned, starring Aaliayh Haughton, is a cautionary tale about what happens to powerful women. Aaliyah Haughton played the role of a 5,000-year-old Egyptian Queen called Akasha. One of Queen Akasha’s most notable attributes is that she was very powerful and had power over other vampires. Queen Akasha was fearless and wanted to rule over the human, as other vampires feared the humans and lived in the shadows, only coming out at night like cowards. Queen Akasha planned to end this shameful lifestyle, she sees Earth as her home, and wants to command the other vampires.

x zvsb

Many cultures are patriarchal, in these cultures, women are internalizing the idea that women are inferior, and that they require approval and validation for men. Queen Akasha rejects this restrictive lifestyle and steps out of the shadows. Dependency acts as a threat to Queen Akasha power and authority. She dethrones her husband, King Enkil, after awaking in modern times by the music of the vampire Lestat, and plans to take him as a new King and rule the World. Queen Akasha fears that her race, the race of vampires, is near death, and she wants to find and protect vampires living on Earth.

xcv.PNG

The first appearance we get of Akasha, she is an alabaster statue, which indicates she is virginal goddess. However, Queen Akasha initial encounter with Lestat, she is wearing a black dress, and she saves him from being killed by other vampires, who are upset with him because he is calling attention to their race, and is a successful rockstar. Lestat becomes a culture icon in the modern World, and other vampires fear him and all the attention he is getting. Lestat is using his music to tell a story and program the minds of the masses! People start to sing or chant his music, and it entrains their brains and makes them more receptive to his intended message. This is probably why the Queen sees Lestat as more of a suitable mate.

Queen Akasha is not a damsel in distress, however, she does face a challenge asserting her power with the other vampires. She is unaccustomed to others outright devaluing her status, and has to assert her power in front of these men. It is at this juncture that we see Queen Akasha deal with expectations of her sex and position as women do in real life.  To instill fear in them, she seduces a male vampire and rips out his heart and eats it. This symbolizes the power of her father. After other vampires try to kill her in the bar, because she is the Queen of all vampires, they have her blood in them, and she uses her power to make them burst into flames, which represents purification.

In identifying with and adapting to a masculine World, many women may find success in their chosen careers. On the surface, these women exude power, and may feel that something is missing from their lives because the male-dominated culture is not accommodating to their needs and sometimes other women fear women who are more powerful than them. Through her leadership, Queen Akasha tries to strengthen the vampire race, and bring about the destruction of human reign. Queen Akasha starts inciting other women as vampires to rise up and put an end to their oppressors. However, some vampires feel threatened because they have been breeding with humans and meet at an ancient vampire’s compound in Death Valley.

ancientsoff

While in Death Valley, Maharet explains that Queen Akasha plans to eliminate 90 percent of human men, and establish a new garden of Eden where everyone will worship her as the goddess she is. Maharet does not like Queen Akasha because Maharet used to be a witch, and she was taken advantage of by a member of Akasha’s staff. Eventually, the witches rise up against Akasha and her King Enkil and kill them. As they lay dying on the floor the spirt of Amel sees this as his chance to ensnare the soul of the dying Queen and combines himself with her flesh and blood, transforming her into a vampire. Akasha allows the king to drink her blood, which saves his life. This process is symbolic of why people fear powerful women, and also explains why Maharet supports the rule of a weaker race.

Aaliyah-as-Akasha-Queen-Of-The-Damned-aaliyah-18438533-392-529

The story of Queen Akasha also theorizes that the journey of the heroine is not an outward adventure, but one that delves deeper into the soul. There is a desire to rediscover the feminine and mesh the masculine and feminine together into a complete, whole person, as Amel does when he turns Queen Akasha into a vampire. Without attending to her inner needs the woman feels incomplete, she wants to be an equal of a man, but still remain a feminine role model. Akasha slowly beginas a romance with Lestat, even though the feelings she develops for him never match the feelings she had for King Enkil. However, it is easy to see how Akasha and Lestat  form a relationship, the feel they complete each other.

xsc

Queen Akasha, realizes the thirst in her brain and the need for Lestat. The heroine’s journey does not always mean falling in love; rather, it is the recognition that outward success does not necessarily equate with true happiness. Despite the brief (and often interrupted interactions) between Lestate and Akasha in the Queen of the Damned, the audience see that their bond brings genuine happiness and joy to both characters. One of the most gut-wrenching moments in the fil is when Akasha allows Lestat to drink her blood, at the compound in Death Valley, this is supposed to represent their love for each other, but also represents that love leaves women vulnerable.

dsetjetu

In the presence of their enemies, Queen Akasha bare her heart to Lestat, while he acknowledges that he knows her true feelings, but the other vampires attack the Queen and she bursts into flames and turns to dust. The decent into death represents a crucial moment to the development of women. Queen Akasha does not really die, this is actually a transition. Maharet takes the last drop of her blood and turns into a statue, being the Queen of all Vampires, Akasha simply enters another body, the body of Jesse, Mahrat’s niece. The woman, when reaching great success may reach a period of isolation, she emerges from this period by going deep into herself. A woman’s descent triggers her need to seek out and reclaim her femininity. The descent helps release the woman from the society’s patriarchal demands through the natural introspection that accompanies it.

AKASHA4

As a result of this new body and concealed identity, the woman who emerges is stronger because she now accepts the femininity she once rejected. She can focus on being rather than controlling. Queen Akasha is not fully in charge of her deep feelings for Lestat and she is rediscovered in Jesse’s body, as she reclaims her femininity through being an equal with her and reaffirming her love by symbolically overcoming her need to rule. This does not diminish the power Queen Akasha possess, bit rather enhances it because she is no longer looked at as a threat. The laws of nature will defend themselves.

Call Me When the Cross Turns Over

Love and friendship know nothing of justice. The value of love is that it overlooks faults, and forgives even crimes. The World imagines those to be at our nature’s depths who are impudent enough to expose its muddy shallows. The dredging of natures is the miry form of art. Analytical psychology is an approach to studying mental health and personality development by investigating consciousness and unconscious processes. Personal development involves a process of individuation, growth as an individual, in which each person can better understand both themselves and aspects of a universal level of the subliminal cognitive state. Many of us are on a noble quest. We spend each moment of every waking hour focused and reflecting on mystery we are trying to solve. Life is about trying to protect the peace the community after an intrusion by outside forces, which we are not akin to. The person who is very determined and on a righteous journey, in the midst of the chaos and deceptions around one is a person who is connected with God, and this allows us to remain strong and peaceful.

Individuation refers to the effort to become a fully human person and to grow into full consciousness. The process of becoming fully human and totally conscious is to understand the good, bad, light and darkness, and it is not an easy choice. The journey to individuation is a lifetime journey. Some people choose to protect their compassion nature with cynicism and apathy because they do not want to feel vulnerable nor uncertain. It is by far more easy for people to pretend like they do not care than to face heartbreak or disappointment. Some people put up barriers because they feel threatened by potential rejection and want to live a painless life. However, by blocking people out who care about you, not only are you hurting them, but you are also hurting yourself. No matter what, life is fluid and while you may think you have a person where you want them, you may lose them while you are not looking. A lot like parking your car in a lot and leaving it unattended. You think it is secure because it has an alarm system, you are constantly watching it, but if someone wants it, they will find a way to get it from you.

When people lose things they care about because they did not cherish them, a feeling of revenge starts to brew, and while they thought they were protecting themselves, they really start to feel the pain of loss, and this can turn into a vengeful rage. Your shadow represents the individual’s discordant desires, instincts, or shortcomings. This is why we are facing so many shootings and violence, people are living fake lives and hurting inside. On Wednesday, 2 December 2015, in San Bernardino, California, USA one to three suspects committed a massacre, killing more than 20 people at the Inland Regional Center, a facility that cares for people with developmental disabilities. This shows you that no targets are off limits, people are killing anyone they want without any regard. Because the conscious ego can only know itself, the contents of the mind and the dark shadows residing inside are unknown to others. Mass shooters are no longer adapting to the outer reality that we all share, but rather to an inner reality. They have a split with reality because there are elements of themselves that are forgotten, repressed, or ignored. To avoid these type of situations, we need to be kind to people and accept others for who they are. We have to learn to surrender, relinquishing part of our own desires and be guided by God to care for others who are having hard times.

We have to learn to train our mind, body, and spirit to be disciplined. In life, everyone faces trials, and just because some are smiling and happy, it does not mean that their life is better than yours, it simply means they are better able to control their emotions. While some people take relationships for granted and are running around trying to get attention and be popular, their loved ones may be in the process of letting going and moving on. A person should contemplative as the spirit converse and assimilates with the unconscious. As one progresses through individuation, actions may change, as the body now acts in congruence with the mind and spirit. When you recognize distressing feelings, the first step is to acknowledge them. If you remain in denial or in a one sided relationship, you will remain discontented and ignorant for the rest of your life. Being alone and uncertain of your future can be a painful and frightening experience, but remember to walk in faith and not by sight. Before examining our own hidden qualities, we may be in complete denial of our shadow elements, yet what we deny in ourselves can often easily be spotted in others. A person may despise another’s quick temper while at the same time fervently suppressing a wish to respond with anger.

The first step in making the acquaintance of a person’s own shadow is admitting that the scary, annoying, or irritating qualities found in others are often the qualities in that individual that evoke the very same responses. For example, if you are dating someone who is in their 40s, who is still going out to nightclubs and trying to be hip, you may despise that aspect of them and you need to eradicate that person from your life. Staying in unhealthy situations disavowals one’s own characteristics and it may be dangerous. The more you suppress yourself, the more darkness and unhappiness grows inside of you, and it will take over your life entirely. The goal in life is to develop a reciprocal relationship. Everyone knows when you are in your 40s, you are too old to be going to nightclubs and trying to look cool. So if you are dating someone, who is older than you, and this is how they behave, break it off and enjoy life so you do not end up like them. Art may disguise complexions, but never improve them. Sometimes people are placed in our lives so we can see what we do not want to become. This shadow holds a message that it may be wise for you to heed. These are messages that may come from your subconscious content, particularly if the vision includes a character that is the same gender as the person with the vision. By paying attention to the message, or the vision, the encounter with the shadow becomes collaborative, rather than hostile in nature.

As unbelievable as it may sound, this shadow is still part of you. You should accept it, attune to it, guide it, and control it. Be mindful, strive to stay mindful and aware of anger and other shadowy feelings, as well as paying attention to your thoughts. Sometimes you go through a lot of the same type of relationships to help you grow. On the path to individuation, a person examines events are meaningful expressions of the collective unconscious. So, let me take that back, if you are dating someone who is immature, as long as they are not harming you or taking anything from you, allow them to be in your life. This could be your spirit testing you to see if you can hang on when things get rough. Let them think they are still the love of your life, and when someone else comes on, they will realize you have left them in the shadows. We have the innate capacity to walk a path through the park that leads us to our true selves. We gather strength from every situation, and allow this to bring you peace, balance, and wholeness, but to benefit from this wisdom, we must first learn to feel the variety of emotions. It is amazing, when you change the way you look at people, and start looking out for them, it is impressive how much better they treat you.

Secrets and Lies–Make Your Stories Sell!

He who is in the clutches of the law may think himself lucky if he escapes with the loss of his tail. Nature has created inequalities in men and things, and, as human institutions are intended to prevent the strong from oppressing marginalized members of the human population, ergo, the laws should encourage natural inequalities as a legitimate consequence. Secrets and Lies incorporates subliminal angles of the human psyche—obsessions some aspire to conceal, wickedness many refuse to admit. Detective Cornell acts as a malevolent force to Ben Crawford throughout the mini-series, representing the seduction of evil and the fear and torment within Ben Crawford. Once she realizes that Ben is out there, Detective Cornell becomes compelled with finding him and making him pay for a crime he did not commit, allowing the criminal to walk free, so she can inflict the venom of evil into his soul and turn him into a villain before the eyes of the community. detective Cornell knows Ben Crawford is innocent and feels culpability for the part she played in ceasing a man who has already suffered a tragic lose, and destroying his home, family, career, and life. As long as Ben continues to remain free, not only is it a constant reminder that law enforcement and community members tortured and persecuted and innocent man, but it also leaves the city and aggressors with criminal liability and possibly civil liability as well, and they all regret the decisions they made. However, the thugs keep profiling and trying to convict Ben Crawford because they feel if they can just convince themselves, and others that he is bad, it will remove any guilt or liability they have. However, what is done in secret will be brought to the light. So, detective Cornell and the community obsessively purses Ben Crawford. Detective Cornell probably projects her rage and frustration onto Ben Crawford for other things she has done in the past. Ben Crawford and detective Cornell are opposites, he has the World to live for, he is whole and complete and loved, but detective Cornell has committed some egregious sins, and is cold, fragmented, and lost. However, this villain, detective Cornell helps to bring out the hero in Ben Crawford, the audience sees his true qualities of love, compassion, strength, and perseverance, and he grows in the process—David and Goliath, a biblical example.

Although detective initially appears as an evil villain, there comes a turning point where she realizes that she is wrong and that they are putting Ben Crawford’s life in danger. She realizes that they are no better than ISIS and the people who attacked Paris, France, and takes a real interest in “helping” him. The innocents, determination, and compassion that Ben Crawford conveys, allows Ben Crawford to bring out the true detective in Cornell, to fight her way back to being a righteous detective. Yet, detective Cornell’s rage is one of her more enduring characteristics. She is constantly harassing and stalking Ben Crawford and using her job as an investigator to justify her actions, she allows people to interrogate him to see how she can twist and mangle his words, making him look like he committed a murder, even though her constant profiling of Ben has almost gotten him killed twice. However, sometime detective Cornell feels guilty about the ferocity of the evil she inflicts Ben Crawford and his family. Detective Cornell takes extreme measures to judiciously project her anger onto Ben Crawford by expending immeasurable city resources to try and wrongly convict him, at the expense of taxpayers and potentially putting other members of the community in danger. The resources used to make Ben Crawford look guilty could have been used to hire more law enforcement to protect others and pay unfunded pensions. However, detective Cornell’s interactions with Ben Crawford are slowly changing, she is no longer blaming him for her short comings, but instead feels a sadness and tries to connect with him and even protect him by letting him know his life is in danger. Detective Cornell desperately wants Ben Crawford to be saved, and her ability for good surpasses her ever-present anger and frustration. We see detective Cornell reach a point of clarity as she now is trying to save Ben Crawford.

Through the mini-series of Secrets and Lies, we see that people want to disrupt Ben Crawford’s life, and detract him, with strict authority, to slow down his accelerating movement to adulthood. Ben is accused of murder to keep him from growing and expanding beyond this sadistic cult in the small town. They want Ben to stay suppressed and small. However, Ben Crawford is a force of youthful heroism and is oblivious to danger. While the rest of the community is constantly acting, but rarely thinking about the repercussions of their actions. It becomes more and more easy for the audience to relate to Ben Crawford because we see he is righteous, and the rest of the community, and law enforcement are looked at as the bad guys. They see one person struggling, and instead of helping him, they attack him, without even knowing the facts. Not everyone can relate to Ben Crawford’s desire for justice, or his role as an empathetic hero, nor detective Cornell’s journey for domination and force to salvation. This is a story of good and evil and is meant to open the mind and show people that pack mentality is wrong and often times dangerous. Get your facts straight before acting on your limited vision, releasing your fear and frustration onto others. Unauthorized and abhorrent thoughts will sometime invade the best human heart. Remember, we live in a World, were an African American woman, Rosa Parks, was arrested because she refused to move to the back of the bus and let a Caucasian man have her seat. Now Rosa Parks is a legendary hero for calling attention to civil rights. By standing up for herself, Rosa Parks has protected countless lives from being wrongly stalked and harassed by law enforcement like our hero Ben Crawford is done in Secrets and Lies.

Secrets and Lies–the Riddle and the Answer

Honesty and honor are the same. An honest heart fears no danger from any Earthly source. Ben Crawford is a Hero, a role model, protector, and soldier. The young good-looking father we see in Secrets and Lies, exemplifies the elements of innocents through his colossal desire for truth and justice. Ben wants to find the truth so desperately that he never considers the dangers that his quest may cause him to endure. He has an idealistic view of the World, where no oppression or tyranny exists, he focuses only on the love and virtue that is in his heart. After losing his son, Ben realizes that the World is not a safe and secure as he believed it to be, and takes personal responsibility for the loss of freedom and justice of this young soul. Secrets and Lies is known for its thrilling and mysterious journey of heroism and justice through daring displays of bravery, as Ben Crawford tracks down the killer of his son, saves a boy from drowning, and prevents a woman from being a victim of domestic violence. Ben’s heroism stems from his compassion and empathy towards others. Although Ben Crawford can be aggressive and controlling, he is also sensitive and possess a great deal of intuition. As a far, husband, and community leader, Ben is more attuned to the emotions of others than anyone else in the mini-series; he is a people person, and that is why he has a successful business as a painter. Ben takes pride in his family and in the houses he turns from a blank canvas into a lively work of beauty.

Ben Crawford gets to know people in his community, and treats them all like equals, gets no know their names no matter how young they are or what cultural background they come from, when others could care less.  When Tom Murphy is alive and Ben has no idea of his connection to the boy, Tom expresses how he misses his father and how his father is never home, Ben comforts the boy by telling him, “I would be proud to be your father and would never leave your side, and I am sure your father feels the same way.” A man can be honest in any sort of skin. As there are virtues which are their own reward, so there are vices which are amply their own punishment. Ben Crawford is the only one in the community to welcome his African-American neighbors, take in his poor homeless friend, and show concern for the youth. Everyone else in the community seems to ignore marginalized members of the human population, as they are too busy with their own lives and or work. Ben understands that others feel pain, and have thoughts and ideas and concerns that are required to be expressed, yet they are discounted. Ben, on the other hand, treats the poor like family, this is displayed when he allows his best friend, Dave, to stay in the guest house and provides him with food, and does not charge him a dime. Ben shows us all that he understands the value of life and empathy, even when those lives are not deemed important by the rest of society.

Ben Crawford’s wife, Christy Crawford, is a strong character. She represents the virgin Mary, a being of purity and youthful innocence, as indicated by her focus on work, family, and rebuffing Ben’s sexual advances. However, Christy is also power-driven domineering young lady. She spends most of her time working and managing the family, and takes on the role of the sole provider of the household and also becomes a defender of her husband by providing him with legal assistance, and tries to protect him as she can see that people take advantage of his compassion. Christy has a tough decision to make, very early in their marriage, which leads to a rift in their relationship, but what she did was to protect her home and lifestyle. Christy is a diplomat and a role model for women’s rights. She is a crucial figure in this series. Ben ultimately, a married man, becomes a loner who stumbles into the oversized responsibility of taking care of an investigation to ensure justice and his survival. Ben is wise, he is young, and he is a real man. He offers others advice, guidance, and encouragement, which makes him someone we admire, look up to, and can relate to. He is a protector, provider, and a problem solver, offering advice and being highly empathetic to those emotions of those around him. Ben Crawford becomes the type of father and husband everyone wants once they understand his motivations. The journey for justices brings out his hidden qualities. Ben recognizes the glimmer of light in each and every person.   Attention, love, admiration, cannot be always kept at the stretch.

Secrets and Lies—a Look into the Mind of Ben Crawford

Virtue, sooner or later, meets the good it merits. There is no casting of swine’s meat before men worse than that which would flatter excellence as though its true origin were not good enough for one, but one must have a lineage, deduced as it were by spiritual heralds, from some stock with which one has nothing to do. Virtue’s true lineage is older and more respectable than any that can be invented for one. Ben Crawford is so attentive to details and sees the entire perspective. With thoroughness and honesty, carefulness, ethical behavior, and morality, Ben Crawford strives to be structured, logical, and efficient, while he uncovers a mystery. Ben Crawford displays all of these good qualities when investigating the murder of his son and trying to protect and keep his family together, by addressing the problems with the police investigation, before they can grow larger. By addressing his concerns, Ben Crawford will maintain better healthy overall, and live a more quality life because he does not just sit back and let stress eat him alive, he takes action. Conscientious individuals like Ben Crawford perform better at some jobs than others like Detective Cornell.

Although Detective Cornell is reliable, she tends to be excessively meticulous, and may be less efficient than Ben Crawford. While Detective Cornell spends all morning try to craft Ben Crawford as a suspect, only paying attention to details that make him look guilty, she is being unproductive because she is ignoring other possible motives and suspects, as her job is to solve a murder by noon. Adhering to procedure while trying to frame Ben Crawford for killing his son, Tom Murphy, makes the actual criminals, who really killed him leave an orgy of evidence behind because the real suspect knows he or she is not under suspicion. And this is why Ben Crawford take charge of the murder investigation on his own. Because everyone else in his life, including investigators, seem to be so lackadaisical, self-absorbed, and unethical, Ben Crawford develops an anxiety disorder known as obsessive-compulsive personality disorder (OCPD) because he is going to lose his freedom and possible his life for a crime he did not commit just because it is easier for the police to label him as a suspect and close a case, than to figure out who actually committed the crime.

People with obsessive-compulsive personality disorder (OCPD), which in this case we are jokingly calling “Obsessively Corrupt Police Department,” is a mental condition in which a person, Ben Crawford, is preoccupied with rules, orderliness, time awareness, vigilance, self-direction, and attention to detail because he worries that he has not done everything necessary to feel safe and secure. As a result of his OCPD, Ben Crawford cannot see everything wrong with his behavior. Ben is overly aware, scrupulous, rigid, inflexible, suffering a great deal of stress, and this is becoming deeply ingrained in his personality pattern so much that people cannot stand to be around him, as they know he can see through their vices and snarky comments. At first critics could not tell if Ben was connection, because he knew something was wrong, but seemed to be in some type of a mental fog, but now everyone fears Ben Crawford because they see he is highly cognitive. So to push him over the edge, or disrupt his mental state people play games with him, and taunt him, and even physically assault him, as a method of trying to drive him crazy because they think he is on the verge of a breakdown, after all, under these conditions most people would be.

2001-bmw-740il-sport-8

Ben Crawford is looked at as guilty by everyone in his community, they spray paint “Child Killer” on his garage, start to fire him from his jobs, and no one will hire Ben because he is so demonized by his community. Others jump in on the game by vandalizing his car, planting evidence, breaking into his home, and even turning his wife and children against him. To make matters worse, Ben’s neighbor kidnaps him and tortures him and tries to kill him if he does not confess. And the man that thinks he is the father of Tom Murphy, strangles Ben Crawford and also tries to beat him to death. So the entire community has turned against Ben, even his wife and children, and he has no money, no one to turn to for help, and is about to lose his house, who would not go crazy, right? Well certainly NOT Ben Crawford. Ben Crawford has proven himself worthy of retaining this higher state of consciousness, it makes him who he is. Ben Crawford proves that he is not lost in the wilderness, but mostly everyone else is. He is a hero and gaining skills and performing heroic deeds, and his journey is also spiritual. Virtue is God’s empire.

Ruhstaller Beer

Rustaller

The man is a hero who can withstand unjust opinion. Captain Frank Ruhstaller (November 8th, 1847 – October 1907) was an American Brewer, and a prestigious businessman of Sacramento, California. One morning on November 8, 1847, Captain Frank arrived nestled deep in the arms of his loving parents, Frank Sr. and Joespha Ruhstaller. This was a special day, as it was the day that Josepha gave birth to her very first child, while living in Ensiedeln, Switzerland. Captain Frank’s father was a hat maker, dairyman and his mother was a native of Germany.  Following preparation at Canton Berme, Ruhstaller came to American in 1862. He found a job in Louisville, Kentucky at Falls City Brewery.  After working at the brewery for a brief time, Ruhstaller gained enough knowledge and experience to move to St. Albany, Indiana.  At the rip age of seventeen, Ruhstaller became lead foreman in Paul Reising’s Brewery. Captain Frank Ruhstaller entered the Brewery Business in Sacramento California in 1865. After going to work in the City Brewery, Ruhstaller became foreman in six short weeks.  He held this position for a year, but of course Ruhstaller had his eyes on other projects.  At that time George Ocha was in control of the Pacific Brewery, and Ruhstaller thought it would be a good idea for him to work under this man, and learn as much as he could because he had dreams on one day opening his very own brewery.

Ruhstaller stayed with the Pacific Brewery for about five years, altogether.  Not only did Ruhstaller make beer, but he also drove a wagon.  Ruhstaller later expanded his career and bought interest in the Sutterville Brewery. Ruhstaller was in a partnership with Joseph Bechler, but the floods halted production, and Ruhstaller went back to his job at the Pacific Brewery. Creating another brewery empire, Ruhstaller bought into the St. Louis Brewery.  Ruhstaller’s business partners included Fritz Futterer and Henry Altpeter. After learning some new techniques, Ruhstaller went back to work at the Pacific Brewery for a third time. Once again Ruhstaller was delegated to driving wagons, and he eventually worked his way up to foreman.   During this time, Mr. Ruhstaller fell deeply in love with Miss Charlotte Oeste, a native of Germany.

The couple was married on Christmas day in 1870. Life was great. However, in 1873, Ruhstaller’s father fell ill. Ruhstaller caught wind of the news and rushed to Switzerland. Tragically, Ruhstaller’s father passed away before he arrived.  Sadden by the loss of his father; Ruhstaller would stop at nothing to build an empire that his father could be proud of. That same year Ruhstaller returned to Sacramento, California and opened a brewery near the Metropolitan Theater.  Ruhstaller went on to run this successful business for eight years. It is important to understand that Frank Ruhstaller was not the first person to open a brewery in Sacramento, but he was a very influential man. The first Brewery was called City Brewery and it actually opened in 1859 by William Borchers and Hilbert. The City Brewery was acquired by Mr. Ruhstaller in 1881. When Mr. Ruhstaller purchased the business, it was powered by horses and had a capacity of fifteen barrels each day.  He later made so many technological improvements to the business that it was pretty much an entirely new brewery. Mr. Ruhstaller enlarged buildings, and installed modern machines.  The brewery is now known as the Ruhstaller brewery, it is located on 12th and H Street.

The beer is of superior quality; it is derived of malt and hops. They focus on near beer, ice and special malts. Mr. Ruhstaller’s life story is a source of inspiration because all of the breweries he worked at and owned and because of his social status. Mr. Ruhstaller, a member of the Sacramento Hussars was crowned captain from 1878 to 1882.  In his family life Mr. Ruhstaller and his wife also went on to have eight children. However, four of them passed away at a very young age: Ottow, Wilhelmina, Otto, and Charlotte. The five that lived are: Anna, Frank J., Minnie, David and August. Mr. Ruhstaller’s Eldest son, Frank J. Ruhstaller, Jr. was born November 5, 1872. He went on to follow in his father’s footsteps. Frank Ruhstaller, Jr. was educated in city schools. At the age of fifteen, he went on to study an apprenticeship at the brewing business with his father. In 1891, Frank Ruhstaller, Jr. went on to work as a brewer of Fredericksburg brewery in San Jose, California for a little less than a year, but then he came back to Sacramento to work for his father. Looking to further his education, Frank J. Ruhstaller, Jr. attended the Chicago Brewing Institute and graduated within six short months. Much like his father, Frank Jr. returned to Sacramento and became a brewer in his father’s plant and was promoted to manager by 1906. Frank Jr. was a very social young man. He married Alice M. Root in 1899, and was even linked to the Masons.  “Putting out a product without promotion is like winking at a girl in the dark –well-intentioned, but highly ineffective.” -William Randolph Hearst

Fire on the Wind–Classic White Man

The World’s greatest need is mutual confidence. No human being knows all the secrets of another’s heart. Yet, we all have some relationships with others, from a passing acquaintance to others we feel a deep kindred bond for, and this makes social life a practical possibility. These relations manifest over time, and friendship, like love, is the child of sympathy, not of complaint. Most people like intense and strong relationships because you form trust, but some relationships are weak. Friendships makes us warmly espouse the interest of others; but it is very cold to the gratification of their passions. Whatever the number of a person’s friends, there will be times in our lives when we have few; but if we have only one enemy, we are lucky indeed if we have not one too many. The beauty and loveliness of friendship is too strong for dim eyes. We all know that we are loved, but some people go through a period of isolation, and it makes them feel unloved, and it is not the type of void that can be filled with the sex, it is a yearning that only warm tender arms can embrace.

2001-bmw-740il-sport-8

The way to strengthen a friendship is through spending time with a person, having emotional intensity, intimacy, and reciprocal services. There are attributes in the in the architecture and conservation of relationships. Perhaps the most delightful friendships are those in which there is much agreement, much disputation, and yet more personal liking. Exalted minds enter more rapidly and closely into the connection of friendship than those of a vulgar stamp. Friendship is a passion. It entrances the being; it tears the soul. All loves of after life can never bring its rapture, or its wretchedness; no bliss so absorbing, no pangs of jealousy or despair so crushing and so keen! The more time you put into relationship, the stronger it will become. This entails the how long you have known each other, how often you see each other, and how much time you spend together. The more time you put into your relation, the stronger it will become. If your relationship is new, it can grow strong if you spend a lot of time together. Time is the foundation of all relationships, and out of love to oneself, one must speak better of a friend than an enemy.

Love is nothing in comparison with the intimacy of two congenial friends. When two people share an intense emotional experience, it strengthens the relationship between them. People often go through intense and dangerous events together, and these experiences foster emotional intensity. If a good face is a letter of recommendation, a good heart is a letter of credit. Intimacy can many forms. While physical and sexual intimacy certainly counts, any instance where a person makes oneself vulnerable to another is an intimate moment. Virtue is so dear to the human heart, that when its form forsakes us, we pursue its shadow. Successful moments of intimacy build trust and build strong bonds. As relationships grow sometimes, they become physical, this usually happens when a guy stops trying to be tough and shows the object of his affection that he is caring and loves them.

There be grains of sense in a simpleton, so long as he be natural. Sometimes people feel stupid when they believe they are giving so much, but not getting much in return, and this is not all directed at one person. In life sometimes we give so much of ourselves and want someone to be there for us, but trust me, even just a walk in the park with a good friend warms the heart. The favors and help that people give one another is called benevolence. Benevolence is the duty of one who aspires to wisdom. When people do things for each other, they tend to feel closer to each other. However, in covert military style situations, people find other ways to demonstrate many dramatic examples of reciprocal services. Sometimes people do work for each other. Someone might promote you if you help them, and emotional intimacy develops. After a while a person might feel like you all are family and expect certain things and feel let down if the services you provide are lacking or missing. They may also feel downtrodden if it is suspected that you are fond of another person or organization. That is because you have an exchange of trust, warmth, intimacy, reciprocal services, emotional intensity, and a long history together. And clearly your bond is still strong through all the ups and downs.

However, sometimes situations go one so long, and they have to do with critics attack the person you care about, while you are trying to maintain a professional relationship, and it becomes frustrating, and one might feel bad or stupid when they reply in the same manner, and it is like how long is this foolishness going to keep going on? A person might even want to leave the environment because of the circumstance of which they cannot seem to control no matter how hard they try. Imagine two people you are very close with whom you spend a lot of time with, have intense emotional experiences, share intimacy, and for whom you do favors. It is very unlikely that those two people do not have at least a passing acquaintance. They do not need to have a strong relationship, but we would expect them to have some connection to one another. It is so unlikely that this situation occurs that it is termed forbidden. These situations will eventually resolve themselves when a tie forms between the two previous strangers. The only certain as well as laudable way of setting ourselves above another person: by becoming their benefactor. People develop stronger relationships by spending time together, sharing intense emotional experiences, and intimacies, and doing things for one another. Some relationships that develop are destined to be. You are the most excellent of people and your lips have been anointed with grace, since God has blessed you for every.

Legally Blonde, Elle Woods and Gender Equality

legally-blonde.10525

Women have an innate propensity to get themselves noticed, and noticed by their kind. When girls feel free to do what they want, they will usually imitate each other. Each young lady must learn to play certain roles, which involve a set of behaviors. Role-models are persons who have played a given role well enough or long enough to serve as a pattern to reproduce. A girl I likely to imitate the style of walking of her mother, her most important role-model. However, some behaviors are influenced by the actions of others, such a historical figures or other legendary women.

Many children, boys and girls, growing in the last decade, have been captivated by Elle Woods (Reese Witherspoon), the young woman from Legally Blonde I and II. Some have gone on to law school because of Elle Woods, others have learned what is acceptable behavior from their spouse, and many have learned to persevere through challenges to earn what they want in life, while some have learned to care more about animals.

Legally-Blonde-legally-blonde-2273075-900-677

Elle Woods is a female role model that children are likely to imitate.  Thus, imitative behavior pays off, however subtle the reinforcement may be. Elle Woods has influenced how many young viewers developed their gender identity. Once children, teens, and young adults form a gender identity, a sense of belonging to a particular gender, they usually find it rewarding to display the values of those they admire.

Legally-Blonde-legally-blonde-8716950-852-480

Role models can affect how people feel about themselves. Elle Woods did not play a stereotypical role, she took control of her life, and both boys and girls seemed to admire her determination and strength. This shows the World that people really do like strong, but nice women, and they set a good example of how ladies should behave and how men should and should not act towards women.

Legally-Blonde-Red-White-Blonde-legally-blonde-8746533-852-480

The character Elle Woods presents a healthy psychological young woman, when given the chance was kind to everyone, even people who mistreated her. Elle Woods was very polite and forgiving, but she would not just let people take advantage of her, and she also learned to accept guidance; and learned that not everyone is nice, not everyone has your best interest in mind, but do not let that bring you down or turn you into a callous person.

When young ladies have a beneficial role model, like Elle Woods, they tend to have higher self-esteem, and do better in school and at work. When women are confident, men learn to see them as equals and have more respect for them. Elle Woods appears as a diplomate, a hero, and a nice person. Even after being used and dumped by her boyfriend, made fun of by college students, and being set up by her boss, Elle Woods still manages to meet her goals through ethical means.

Legally-Blonde-legally-blonde-2273089-900-602

Initially, no one took Elle Woods seriously, not even her parents, but a young lawyer, her true friends, her role model, and a college professor saw star quality in Elle Woods, and sacrificed a lot because they believed in her. A self-fulfilling prophecy is a prediction, which is often incorrect, that causes people to behave in ways that would make the prediction come true. It has been proven that when someone expects the best from you, that they will treat you better and this will actually help you perform up to their expectations. However, when everyone dislikes you, is jealous of you, and says and does nothing but mean things to you, it will be harder for you to reach success, but it is still possible. Do not let someone else’s nightmare of you become your reality.

Legally-Blonde-Red-White-Blonde-legally-blonde-8757772-852-480

Some people believe that men are smarter than women and the result of that is women underestimating their academic abilities, but in contrast boys are likely to overestimate their abilities—this was seen when Elle Woods boyfriend Warren, and many others were shocked when she got into Harvard. As the movie goes on, it is discovered the Warren’s parents had to help him get into Harvard, while Elle Woods was selected because the admission department thought that she was a great choice and had the grades to succeed in the university.

scienceClass_1604229a

Many girls actually are interested in science, math, technology, and engineering, but once they get to high school, they may lose interest in these subject because people make them feel that women cannot be pretty and smart. Elle Woods was different, she was both smart and pretty, but the failure of a romantic relationship is what motived her to take life more seriously. She found out that people thought that she was just pretty and she wanted them to notice her beauty and academic beauty, and that is why she went to law school, saved a lot of dogs from being used as test subjects, and got a bill passed in congress.

Elle Woods shows the World that just because she is power, beautiful, and successful, does not mean she is a villain. This film, Legally Blonde, also confronts sexual harassment when a professor tries to get cozy with Ms. Woods in his office, but she rebuffs his advances, which leads to a little conflict and a misunderstanding about her character. Unlike the CBS show Supergirl, many are happy that the Legally Blonde series did not allow any violence toward women in the movies. Supergirl is a good TV show, but it is hard to watch because she gets beat up by mean over and over.

legally-blonde-2-red-white-and-blonde

Media depictions can affect the way men and women think, feel, and behave. Girls who see women abused are more likely to be victims of abuse. Men who see women abused are more like to display violent and harassing behavior toward women. People who are harassed or abused are often more likely to be depressed, hopeless, and sometimes suicidal, and they may even feel like they are not in control of their own lives.

dK15Cl8M2dHGlQfUSMpWyictrtu

So even when it comes to men like Donald Trump, just because you do not like them, does not mean that it is okay to make dolls of him and beat them. Psychologist found that preschool boys and girls are likely to become aggressive after seeing violence and abuse towards inflated Donald Trump dolls, either in real life or on the news.  Elle Woods is a powerful women and both men and women seem to like her, but of course some people were jealous of her success, but what was great about the film is it is not violent.

legally-blonde-2-red-white-blonde

Harassment, prejudice, and hostility toward women and other demonized groups can lead to a number of physical and mental health problems, and even result in death. People who are beaten, harassed, or slandered often feel alienated, depressed, self-critical, and more like to harm themselves. Getting to know Elle Woods allows people to become more empathetic towards women and men and treat them more kindly in real life.

Because audience members, from children to adults, can be influenced by real people or fictional heroes, many applaud Reese Witherspoon for doing such a great job of playing Elle Woods. Viewers want more influential roles models like Elle Woods because she provides men and women with empowering messages about equality. This can lead to better psychological and physical health in society. Many are praying that there will soon be a Legally Blonde III, the audience wants to know how Elle Woods and doing, does she have a family, and what is her next challenge?
