Boycott Craig’s Restaurant in Hollywood, California, USA

A reference group is a group from which an individual gets his standards or values whether he actually belongs to that group or not. He compares himself to them and measures his success by their terms. Despite the difficulty of changing loyalties and the threats the process poses to most of us, everyone at some point begins to transfer his loyalties and the source of his standards. Even through many adults are governed strongly by the dictates of the groups they associate with, at least they have the power to choose which groups will dictate to them. #RyanPhillippe 1 of 8

Many people are now calling on others, who support the solidarity of the America family, and stand up for abuse against others and boycott Craig’s American restaurant, located at 8826 Melrose Avenue, in West Hollywood, California 90069 phone number 310-276-1900. Also, many people are very disappointed in Ryan Phillippe for dinning at the establishment, after knowing the prostitute he has been running with and his friends have seriously injured Randolph Harris. #RyanPhillippe 2 of 8

Overheard in the newsroom this morning, “He [Ryan Phillippe] still gone dine out with her [the prostitute] after someone punched him [Randolph Harris] in the face behind the things she said about him. People, if we are going to stop discrimination, harassment, and bullying in America, and all over the World, we have to take a stand and stop doing places with business who thrive off of hooliganism. Some statuses are more prized than others, regardless of how well an individual carries out the role. #RyanPhillippe 3 of 8

This is the concept of prestige. No matter how necessary and valuable the work of a student is, his job will probably never have the prestige that is given to a doctor or teacher. There is much logic in this. We need people to get an education so they can be competent leaders in the future and guide others in the right direction, just as we need those who can repair broken bones and educate child(ren). The element of prestige has an important effect on personality development and especially upon the development of self-concept. #RyanPhillippe 4 of 8

If I work many years to become a top-grade diplomat, I may take a great deal of pride in my work and be paid good wages. However, if people constantly make rude remarks about me for no reason, and it causes me to be physically assaulted and downgrade my status to the point it is not safe for me to even go for a walk through the park, I may end up feeling I am not as good as those who sit around and gossip and tear other people down for fun. #RyanPhillippe 5 of 8

The American male who wears a button-down collar and garter length socks probably also wears wing-tip shoes and carries an attache case. If we look closely, chances are we shall find a facial expression and brisk manner intended to approximate those of the stereotypical executive. The odds are astronomical that he will not let his hair grow wild in the manner of rock musician Jimi Hendrix. He knows, as we do, that certain clothes, manners, forms of speech, opinions, and gestures hang together, while others do not. #RyanPhillippe 6 of 8

He may know this only by feel, or intuition, having picked it up by observing others in the society, but the knowledge shapes his actions. The black-jacketed motorcyclist who wears steel-studded gauntlets and an obscene swastika dangling from his throat completes his costume with rugged boots, not loafers or wing-tips. He is likely to swagger as he walks and to grunt as he mouths his anti-authoritarian platitudes. For he, too, values consistency. Why would you hang out with someone who actually hurts your family? #RyanPhillippe 7 of 8

What amazing me is that many of you would choose to label and discriminate against this guy with these symbols on his body, although he may not have hurt anyone, but them turn around and support and show off people who have caused an innocent man to be punched in the face, raped, spine fractured in two place, and strangled twice, while driving his 7 series BMW, and yet no one does anything. Therefore, I tell you, boycott Craig’s Restaurant located at 8826 Melrose Avenue, in West Hollywood, California 90069 phone number 310-276-1900. #RyanPhillippe 8 of 8

If the law will not do anything to protect this young man, we can by stop allowing the abuse to happen by not supporting people and organizations who care nothing about human life, but just being popular. As an alternative to Craig’s maybe trying eating at the classy, clean establishment called Circa55, which is located at The Beverly Hilton located at 9876 Wilshire Boulevard, Beverly Hills, California 90210, USA, phone number 310-274-7777. We have the power to save lives by making better choices. Symbols should not have so much power over us, but words and actions should be our guides.

The Passion of the Father—Young Man in No Hurry

Besides work, the other major are that impact on the quality of life is the kind of relations we have. So people feel their work is so boring that it depletes their psychic energy. And there can also be conflict between work and family, so that a person who loves work or is required to work a lot may neglect family and friends, and vice versa. Matthew says: “I am so involved in an idea I am working on, I get so carried away, that I am all by myself. I am not listening to what anyone says. I am not paying attention to anybody. And I tend to drift away from people. It could be that is I were not an inventor but had a routine job, I would spend more time at home and I would pay more attention to them. So maybe people who do not like their jobs love their home more.”

There is quite a bit of truth to this remake, and the reason is simple. Given that attention is a limited resource, when one goal takes up all our psychic energy, there is none left over. Nevertheless, it is difficult to be happy if one neglects either one of these two dimensions. Many people married to their jobs are aware of it, and find ways of compensating either by choosing an understanding spouse, an understanding child for support, or by being very open about this issue: “I was very fortunate, I believe, that my son felt his duty in life and his pleasure in life would come from me. And that the way he could best contribute would be to see to it that I would not be bothered by problems involved in the household; that he would settle all of these problems in such a way that I could devote all of my time to my work.”

However, few people could call themselves as fortune as Matthew in this respect. A more realistic venue is to find ways to balance the meaningfulness of the rewards we get from work and from relationships. For despite the fact that almost everyone claims the family is the most important concern in their lives. Very few—especially few men—behave as if this were the case. True, most men are convinced that their lives are dedicated to the family, and from a material standpoint this might be true. However, it takes more than food in the icebox and two cars in the garage to keep a family going. A group of people is kept together by two kinds of energy: material energy provided by food, warmth, physical car, and money, and the psychic energy people investing attention in each other’s goals.

Unless parents and child(ren) share ideas, emotions, activities, memories, and dreams, their relationship will survive only because it satisfies material requirements. As a psychic entity, it will exist only at the most primitive level. Amazingly enough, many people refuse to see this point. The most widespread attitude seems to be that as long as material requirements are provided for, a family will take care of itself, it will be a warm, harmonious, permanent refuge in a cold and dangerous World. It is very common to meet successful men in their forties and fifties who are stunned when their wives suddenly leave or their child(ren) get into serious trouble. Did they not always love their family? Did they not invest all their energy to make them happy?

True, they used to spend hours talking each day, but now they never had more than a few minutes each day to talk, but how could they have done otherwise with all the demands from the job? The emotion of love is an exception to all the general rules—it is the strongest of all emotions, and yet it is the only one that has no peculiar means of expression. Matthew struggled to arrive at a means of describing the emotion of love, but in the end he concluded that it was: “A proper or peculiar means of expression; and it is a strong desire to touch the beloved person is commonly felt. Love is the most difficult of all emotions to study, but it is the strongest of which the mind is capable. I admire my son enormously, and his influence is what fuels me to work.”

Matthew goes on to say, “Love is a remarkable example of power, when you see someone you love, blood flow to the muscle increase, the heart beat becomes stronger and breathing improves. Most people have observed the intense bond of attachment that usually develops between a father and his child(ren), a bond that enables a father to pick up a hurt or frightened child and rapidly eliminate all external signs of pain and fear. The pain I endure in order to reach my child(ren) does nothing, but strengthen my attachment to them. Worry, fear, and pain are eliminated when I see my child(ren), and internal pain is also eliminated. I am a human being touched with the blighted hand of genius. My ultimate achievement will be surprising to everyone.”

The more empathetic you are with another, allowing yourself to truly feel or emotionally resonate with what they are feeling, the less likely it is that you will get aggressive with them. (Teaching child(ren) from a young age to “imagine how you would feel is you were treated like that, or is that happened to you” can help foster a healthy empathy. Having compassion for another individual does not mean that you do not hold them accountable, nor that you will not express any displeasure over what they are doing, but that you will not put them out of your heart. Anger and compassion can coexist, but aggression and compassion cannot. I often wonder what would happen to my kids if they were left to fend for themselves? They would die. I thought about it for a year. Take pleasure in the success of others.

Love and Protect the Boy Within

home 184

The symbolic seat of all human emotions—the very symbol of love—was being lifted from one human and put into another when you took your love away from me. The gentleness of you at the time you lower your head is as charming as hibiscus rising out of water. I miss you deeply. My heart will be with you forever, as long as you are honest to me, I never change my mind at the crossroad of love. Love is a key to the secret of life. With love subtracted, life will become tasteless and colorless. Lonely people who began to develop physical symptoms were sent by other human beings to drugstores to buy aspirins, tranquilizers, or antidepressants. They were denied the only effective healing agent—human contact—that could possibly have cured loneliness because no one any longer believed it to be very effective. #RyanPhillippe 1 of 8

vbnm

The idea that simple human compassion and comfort could heal was almost totally abandoned, swept away in a euphoric flood of objectivity that came in the wake of medical science’s triumphs. Before the 1900, very few medicines were available that could be prescribed effectively to combat aliments. Physicians were forced, therefore, to rely on the power of their own presence, and bedside manner was recognized as a potent source of healing. As scientific medicine began to develop drugs that were outstandingly effective as healing agents, there seemed to be less and less of a requirement for bedside manner. Objective knowledge and not the person dispensing such knowledge—the pill rather than the pill-giver—was seen as the key factor in healing. #RyanPhillippe 2 of 8

nm,

The role of bedside manner as a healing agent was gradually minimized, until by the mid-twentieth century it was relegated almost to the status of a historical curiosity. Public reaction to this change was, in general, most enthusiastic. Of course, not all was well. Quite apart from the spiraling cost of medical care, there were increasing complaints that physicians no longer cared about human beings. However, such complaints were greatly overshadowed by the apparent effectiveness of new scientific healing, and the public generally admired the results. As is true with all other scientific influences on the way society in general began to view human relationships, much like social media, the downgrading of the importance of human contact as a healing force became irrelevant. It became an adoption of similar attitudes in general. #RyanPhillippe 3 of 8

CeeLOtVWIAA31EN

The impression was clearly left that because of medical technology and mediation, science had arranged it so that an individual could do anything he wished, eat any food, behave in any way he chose, and if his heart got smashed up in the process, a new one could be, a new one could be put in. The idea started to circulate that people were really like an automobile tire that could be replaced every 40,000 miles. Because of the increased wickedness, the love of most will grow cold and all they will care about is money, status, and possessions. Of course, it is hard to replace lonely and broken hearts. However, the implicit social belief, widely accepted, is that the heart is a pump, that surgeons are scientific plumbers, and that humans are machines. Yet, people are starting to recognize, one again, that something is missing, we should protect the heart from breaking in the first place. #RyanPhillippe 4 of 8

bjnkm,.

It is clear that no one can stockpile spare parts to heal a lonely heart, and the evidence is growing daily that such emotions do influence the physical functioning of the body. Therefore, practice opening your heart when you least want to do so. Do not lose touch with your love when you are not being loved, and do so without collapsing or sinking into exaggerated tolerance. At times, this may mean opening your heart to your own close-heartedness. Opening your heart does not always mean you will look loving, but the very intention to this open is a potent context shifter. #RyanPhillippe 5 of 8

Love and protect the boy within. It is so easy to push away our inner child, that locus of pre-rational innocence, vulnerability, and softness, as if his presence somehow lessens our status as men. However, a man who is out of touch with the boy within is a man cut off from much of what makes intimate relationships possible. Release your Netflix and Chill from the obligation to make you feel better. Make your connection to your partner top priority. Get comfortable with expression your feelings. Say, “I feel sad” or “I feel anger.” Also expression your sensations, “I feel tightness in my belly” or “I feel an achiness in the back of my neck” or “My breathing feels shallow.” #RyanPhillippe 6 of 8

The point is to make emotionally centered communication more of a priority than intellectually centered communication. Both are obviously important, but the relational flow and conversation simply work better then there is at least some emotional resonance. Dialogue is the elixir of life; without it we cannot survive. Dialogue is a dynamic, ever-changing force. Like the billions of snowflakes that fall in a Winter snore, no two human dialogues are the same. No two marriages are exactly alike. Once together with you, we walked through that beautiful song. That momentary magnificence is well worthy of my life-long memory. #RyanPhillippe 7of 8

vhbjnm,

The love courses of life shines in the corner of life obscurely like leisurely clouds, which drift slowly, illuminating our hearts and warming our life. All of these remind us of the happiness, disconsolation in the past years. Your presence will ways resound in my heart proudly; let my compatriots hear this loud and happy so and this song is your name. Once again, the choice is ours to make. We must either live together or face the possibility of prematurely dying lone. Life and dialogue are one and the same. Please smile, my dear. If you weep, my face will be wetted; if you grieve, my heart will ache. Happiness and you are the oasis in my heart. #RyanPhillippe 8 of 8

Understanding Yourself—an End to Looking Backward

IMG_20160319_205557

At work, there are many sources of strain as there are in life itself: unexpected crises, high expectations, insoluble problems of all sorts. How does one keep them from becoming stressful? A first step consists in establishing priorities among the demands that crowd into consciousness. The more responsibilities one has, the more essential it becomes to know what is truly important and what is not. #RyanPhillippe 1 of 22

bnm,

Successful people often have to make lists, or flowcharts of all the things they have to do, and quickly decide which tasks they can delegate, or forget about, and which ones they have to tackle personally, and in what order. Sometimes this activity takes the form of a ritual, which like all rituals serves in part as a reassurance that things are under control.  #RyanPhillippe 2 of 22

gbfgberg

Matthew Ryan Phillippe, a CEO, spends times each morning setting his priorities. “I am a great list maker,” he says, “I have twenty lists of things to do all the time. If I ever have five free minutes, I sit and make lists of things that I should be worrying about.” However, it is not necessary to be so systematic; some individuals trust their memory and experience, and their choices more intuitively. The important thing is to develop a personal strategy to produce some kind of order. #RyanPhillippe 3 of 22

ryan_phillippe

After priorities are set, some people will confront first, the easiest tasks on the list, and clear the desk for the more difficult ones; others proceed in the reverse order because they feel that after dealing with the tough items, the easier ones will take care of themselves. Both strategies work, but for different people; however, in banking, it is best to take care of the biggest expenses first, and then the smaller ones. #RyanPhillippe 4 of 22

gvhbjnkm,

However, also keep in mind, when using the banking analogy, some people may have car notes that are more expensive than the mortgage, so you have to also think about what is most important to you, what you require more, what provides more utility. Being able to create order among the various demands that crowd upon consciousness will go a long way toward preventing stress. #RyanPhillippe 5 of 22

20160314_175321

The next step it to match one’s skills with whatever challenges have been identified. There will be tasks we feel incompetent to deal with—can they be delegated to someone else? Can you learn the skills required in time? Can you get help? Can the task be transformed, or broken up into smaller parts? Usually the answers to one of these questions will provide a solution that transforms a potentially stressful situation into a flow experience. #RyanPhillippe 6 of 22

20160319_180321

None of this will happen, however, if one responds to the strain passively, like an eagle frozen by icy winds from the mountains. One must invest attention into the ordering of tasks, into the analysis of what is required to complete them, into the strategies of solution. Only exercising control can stress be avoided. And while everyone has the psychic energy required to cope with strain, few learn to use it effectively.  Not everyone has good luck in matching their choice group and their target relational challenges. Sometimes you have to work at it for quite a while to pull it together. If your experiment starts to unravel despite your best efforts to plan carefully, Matthew’s story may help you to feel less alone. #RyanPhillippe 7 of 22

Matthew decided that he would work on his relational challenges within the community of his condo association. His condo was in a beautiful antiquated building in the country. Built in the nineteenth century by affluent New England seekers wo believed that a simple life in the country was the only healthy way to live, it had once been a utopian community. The rambling ten-story building had been turned into condominiums in the 1980s. Although the buildings and the land were lovely to look at, there were a host of structural problems for the condo dwellers. #RyanPhillippe 8 of 22

ryan-phillippe_4806_w620

Matthew made the decision to take a leadership role in getting the antiquated building’s structural problems repaired, and to use this opportunity to work on the relationships he was slowly forming with the other residents. He had decided to prioritize deepening one-to-one relationships within the groups, and to stick with the group through the good and bad times rather than following his old approach-avoidance pattern in relationships. He also changed his usual skittish style by concentrating his energies on this one group rather than having several other new ventures lined up as soon as he began to feel restless. #RyanPhillippe 9 of 22

20160320_171001

Matthew chose the condo association as the best setting for his work because it was the type of community he had always wanted to be part of, despite some previous failures. He gave it two stars to indicate that it was the kind of community he wanted to try again. He believed it would be both comfortable enough and challenging enough to meet his requirements. #RyanPhillippe 10 of 22

As Matthew got more deeply involved in the condo project, he began to focus on deepening his relationships with a few individuals who were also very active in the condo association. Not only did he accept invitations to spend long work sessions and social time with them in a group, he also spent time with people individually, inviting them to dinner at his place and accepting invitations to social events. #RyanPhillippe 11 of 22

Within a few months he began to feel overwhelmed. He enjoyed his new friendships with several of the other condo residents, but he was starting to feel pressured by one of the women. He wondered whether she was a prostitute when she asked him to take her to Mexico and to a fancy restaurant in the nearest city. Despite his qualms, he pushed himself to go ahead since he had committed himself to stay steady and not run when connections became more intimate. He knew this view was hopelessly archaic, but he also knew he would he eventually confess the truth. This situation for Matthew was like splitting atoms and extracting Sunbeams from cucumbers—Brenda has always riled him. #RyanPhillippe 12 of 22

Matthew hard recognized he was becoming increasingly judgmental toward Brenda as she had increase her invitations to meet with him, even before she asked him to take her to Mexico to play. She seemed to be turning into a weak, helpless, demanding, money hungry woman, not the person he had originally got to know in their meetings with the DJs, Bartenders, and Bouncers. #RyanPhillippe 13 of 22

The night they went to the Mexico, Matthew was extremely uncomfortable. He could not enjoy the beach and began to feel claustrophobic. He wondered if he had inadvertently picked up a low class hooker. At the end of the evening, when they sat in the car outside of hotel, he felt as though Brenda was holding him hostage. #RyanPhillippe 14 of 22

It was late, and Matthew was miserable as he sat listening to her talk about her problems at her job and her increasing loneliness since she had started law school, and about how she was desperate for money. The tipping point came when she turned to Matthew and said, “Matthew, I don’t know what I would do without you. You’re one of the only friends I’ve made since I moved out here. You really are some kind of miracle in my life.” #RyanPhillippe 15 of 22

After that September night, Matthew politely backed away from the pressure he felt from Brenda. He began to avoid her and was seen running out of nightclubs and leaving her behind. Matthew decided he would drop out of the condo repair project. He also began looking for another place to live. An error does not become a mistake until you refuse to correct it. He becomes responsible for himself. He decided what activities and ways of behaving have meaning from him, and what did not. #RyanPhillippe 16 of 22

1118full-ryan-phillippe

In our therapy sessions, we focused on creating another option for Matthew, working together to see whether this time he could manage to stick with a relationship and not let it trigger his runaway pattern. He had been enjoying the community effort, he liked where he lived, and he was happy to have deepened his friendships with other people he had been getting to know. Finally, he forced himself to talk to Brenda, to tell her how he was feeling and why. #RyanPhillippe 17 of 22

jhbnm,

To his surprise, she was very comfortable with his disclosures about God changing his heart, and that he had to change his plans, and that is why he ran away.  Matthew had a need to stay free of any demands, and his classic fears of being consumed by female loneliness. She began to share some information about her own patterns of sabotaging close relationships, her wish to have the kind of intimate relations that she had experienced with her sisters in childhood. Like, Matthew, she longed for a relationship that would provide for all her emotional needs, but she also demanded financial compensation for her time. #RyanPhillippe 18 of 22

hjhkl;

After a while, Matthew and Brenda became distant friends. They were able to help each other work on the relational challenges each faced. They discussed their expectations of the perfect relationship. Brenda was able to help Matthew practice being more relaxed about his relational safety boundaries. Eventually, when Brenda got into a serious relationship with a man she had met at work, Matthew was happy for her. He was happy that she found a new partner. #RyanPhillippe 19 of 22

CeG7lZ4UsAARIfo

It was a cause for celebration when Matthew was able to tell Brenda he was happy for her, without going into a panic that she would drop her new relationship and come running to him with a new rush of expectations. The following summer Matthew was cheerful when Brenda told him she was getting married, he wanted to participate in the wedding and welcome her new husband into their condo “family.” Hope and curiosity are no sooner satisfied, then they begin a new search. A newspaper I a battery, and it must have something to batter at. He was happy she had moved on. #RyanPhillippe 20 of 22

Know your conditioning inside out. This means being very familiar with your personal history, recognizing whatever wounding you carry (and how you tend to compensate for it), seeing how and where conditioning has made your choices, and how and where it still running you. Given a good run, one can work easily enough, but an intrusion throws many for seven. First you will get a gem of an idea. Then sleep well on it, then completely rewrite your life story. You will experience horror, narrow escapes, humorous interludes, sentiment, everything. #RyanPhillippe 21 of 22

fghjkl

When it is ended, some will feel as empty mentally as a discarded bottle. Breaking your conditioning’s grip on you will not erase it, but will out you in a position where you are not at its mercy: being able to relate not from it, but to it. You will likely require help of a good therapist to do this well. A good place to begin is to take a reactive pattern you have and, when you are not feeling reactive, look at it objectively, tracing the raw feelings of it back to when it first arose in your life, noting what triggered it back then. #RyanPhillippe 22 of 22

Research in Parapsychology Remains Controversial

hbjnjkm,

So recently, I was talking to my friend, who is a very attractive young professional, and doing well in her career, and she was telling me that she would not date a guy with kids, it is a deal breaker. And I told her, you never know. A guy with kids might be a good option. Sometimes they will treat you well because they have child(ren) and have the fatherly instincts and would want others to treat their kids with respect, and she might actually really love his child(ren) because she will see the man she loves in them. However, I also told her to trust her instincts and do what is best for her. She is young and successful, and about her career. #RyanPhillippe 1 of 8

cvbnm,.

An instinct, experience, or tendency has survival value if it helps (or once helped) human beings to stay alive. And maybe she saw a bad situation, involving a man with child(ren), and it really turned her off and is not something she wants to experience. Some people like to start fresh, especially when they are young, and meet someone who does not have obligations or potential drama in their life. Unnecessary problems can be a detriment to one’s health and also hurt their career. And not that children are problems, but there are usually reasons people are divorced. Still, as someone who cannot reproduce, I think child(ren) are a blessing. #RyanPhillippe 2 of 8

vbnmhjkl

Not too long ago, a premade family was also a turn off for me, you always hear these horror stories about problems with the other parent, but I am not as perfect as everyone else, so I figured it was a good idea for me to keep an mind because it would provide me with more options. The things she may be reflecting on may have to do for reasons for behavior. Like, “Why did you not finish that report? Why did you not show up to work? Why are you so tired?” And as a young professional she cannot respond, “Because my husband thought I was cheating, and I got into it with his ex after seeing pictures of them together on social media, when he was supposed to be at work or with me.” #RyanPhillippe 3 of 8

The study of motivation is a long and complicated one for anyone who really takes time and effort to look into it. As we have been saying all along is human being are vastly more complex than most of us realize. And motivation is one of the most complex aspects of any human. It is possible that existentialism will not only enrich psychology, it may also be an additional push toward the establishment of another branch of psychology, the psychology of the fully evolved and authentic Self and its ways of being. Extrasensory perception (ESP) is perception occurring independently of sight, hearing, or other sensory processes. People who have ESP are said to be psychic. #RyanPhillippe 4 of 8

nm,

Anyone who has ever had an apparent clairvoyant or telepathic experience may find it hard to question the existence of ESP. Yet, the difficulty of excluding coincidence makes natural occurrences less conclusive than they might seem. For instance consider a typical psychic experience. During the middle of the might, a woman away from home had a vision of someone breaking into her home, and murdering her sleeping husband. So she called and woke him up, and moments later a man, with the smell of liquor on his breath, open the door to the apartment with a key. Luckily, so once her heard the lock turning, he jumped up and ran to the door, and the guy acted as if he could not see her husband and almost walked into them, then apologized and said he was “on the wrong plane.” #RyanPhillippe 5 of 8

Shooter - Pilot

An experience like this is striking, but it does not confirm the existence of ESP. If, by coincidence, a hunch turns out to be correct, it may be reinterpreted as a premonition or a case of clairvoyance. It is also been a long standing rumor that police work with psychic detectives. In one case a man, who two witnesses, including a police officer, identified as shooting someone was acquitted because no one thought it was possible for the officer to see the shooter from 120 away, in a dimly lit area, so a criminal could be walking the streets, as the existence of ESP had not been scientifically demonstrated. The most careful studies report negative results, and confirmed results are typically inconclusive and open to criticism. #RyanPhillippe 6 of 8

In another case, during the middle of the night, a woman away for the weekend visit had a strong impulse to return home. When she arrived, she found the house on fire with her husband asleep inside. The fire depart was able to extract him from the home and save the house before it completely burned to the ground. So the moral of the story is to trust your instincts. #RyanPhillippe 7 of 8

Parapsychology is the study of purported psi (derived from the Greek work psyche, meaning “soul” or “mind, psi is the 23rd letter of the Greek alphabet) and the phenomena, including clairvoyance, telepathy, precognition, and psychokinesis. Research in parapsychology remains controversial owning to a variety of problems and short-comings.  The problem is some people stage ESP based on deception and tricks, but we do not believe that to be the case in these instances. #RyanPhillippe 8 of 8

Persecution is a Tempest Raised by the Breath of Hell

20160319_175627

Belonging by birth to Paradise, our tendency should ever be toward it: allowing no lower standard than its Perfection. There is a forsaking which still sits at the same board and lies on the same couch with the forsaken soul, withering it the more by unloving proximity. His ill nature dwells nowhere but in his tongue, and the very people whom he so industriously endeavors to abuse, he would do anything in his power to serve. So great is his love of abuse that when no one else is talked of, to give him an opportunity of displaying his favorite talent, he falls to abusing himself. #RyanPhillippe 1 of 13

Sometimes, our pain is very deep and real, and we stand before night very silent, because there is no language for our pain, only a moan. Night’s heart is full of pity for us: it cannot ease our aching; night takes our hand in his, and the little World grows very small and very far beneath us, and, borne on his dark wings, we pass for a moment into a mightier Presence than his own, and in the wondrous light of the great Presence, all human life lies like a book before us, and we know that Pain and Sorrow are but the Angels of God. #RyanPhillippe 2 of 13

All pains are ever most acute in the time of suffering: for how easy sit upon the reflection the heaviest misfortunes when they have been surmounted! We are no more able to direct the choice upon which our love is fixed than we can alter our taste for a pineapple, or a nectarine, into an aversion for those fruits, or into a liking or fondness for wormwood or rhubarb. Nothing bears so many stains of blood as gold. A single deed of violence and cruelty affects our nerves more than when these are exercised on a more extended scale. #RyanPhillippe 3 of 13

20160319_182041

Sometimes violence and abuse can be masked to look so beautiful and like loyalty, but often times a person is crying out for help, and has nowhere to turn and no one to go to for support. Some people have been injured so badly, and although it may not look like it, they are unable to work and stuck isolated in a bad situation. One of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard is by artist called Zayn Malik and it is called Pillow Talk. #RyanPhillippe 4 of 13

20160319_180321.jpg

I pulled up the lyrics for the song and was surprised by what it actually says, here is an excerpt: Climb on board, I’m seeing the pain, seeing the pleasure. So we’ll piss off the neighbours in the place that feels the tears, the place to lose your fears. Reckless behavior, a place that is so pure, so dirty and raw. Be in the bed all day, fucking in, fighting on. It’s our paradise and it’s our war zone. Pillow talk, my enemy, my ally, prisoners. Then we’re free, it’s a thriller. #RyanPhillippe 5 of 13

20160319_182920.jpg

That is hardly what I want my love life to be like. However, sexual violence is not the only form of abuse and women are not the only abuse victims. Sometimes men are abuse and they have no one to turn to. People know about it and laugh and tease them and there is never any form of justice. Could you imagine having absolutely no one to turn to and have been seriously injured from being abuse and trying to do what you can to work yourself out of the situation with no end in sight? Some people are suffering in silence. Not only do they have emotional pain, but physical as well, and no one to talk to or turn to. #RyanPhillippe 6 of 13

20160319_184317.jpg

Yet, no one seems to cherish life until someone dies. Then there is an outpouring of love and support about how much this person changed your life and made such a big impact, and how much they will be missed. For people suffering in silence, sometimes death holds more appeal than life does because it is a promised either reunion with lost loves, resolution of long conflict, or respite from anguish. Although the emotion of love is one of the strongest of which the mind is capable, it can hardly be said to have any proper of peculiar means of expression. #RyanPhillippe 7 of 13

20160320_171001

Do not feel sorry for the dead, they are in a better place. Our love and sympathy should be for those who are smiling through the pain, walking around with bruises on their face, and necks, with busted knees and fractured backs. Abuse victims are often living in fear and emotionally isolated. One cannot help, but be struck by the marked differences in social support different people receive. Some seem to have little reason to live; death would be a welcome relief from their pain and loneliness. #RyanPhillippe 8 of 13

20160321_175320.jpg

Strong minds perceive that justice is the highest of the moral attributes; mercy is only the favourite of the weak ones. There is blood on the garments of many a man who sits fearfully at home, and thinks that human reason, fortitude, and perseverance, are adequate to the accomplishment of anything upon the Earth. Reassume your courage, not the courage to die, but to live. Courage in most comes from a mechanical acquired habit of reasoning themselves out of their fear. There are people out there terrorizing others for fun, and nothing is being done to stop them nor support the victims of terrorism. Sometimes individuals are also terrorized by cells of people. #RyanPhillippe 9 of 13

bjnkm,.

Common sense, or common knowledge, tells us that social contact is vitally important to human beings, just as it is to animals like the dog. And being common sense, the question can be raised as to why anyone would want to study such an obvious question? A significant number of people now seem quite willing to accept the idea that there is a connection between stress, anxiety, and physical disease. Mass media advertising, especially those commercials marketing a wide range of anti-anxiety or analgesic agents, are but one of many sources that serve to make everyone conscious of this idea. #RyanPhillippe 10 of 13

20160320_172844.jpg

Growing numbers of people, for example now accept the idea that emotional stress might predispose them to develop heart problems. Yet at the same time, far fewer seem ready to accept the possibility that the lack of human companionship could do the same thing. In the context of human disease, stress and anxiety are now generally accepted as bad for one’s healthy, while human companionship is still generally viewed as irrelevant. These are not distinctions that are consciously taught or even thought about a great deal; rather, they are attitudes deeply embedded in our society. #RyanPhillippe 11 of 13

20160320_171240.jpg

Descriptions of emotional states involving stress, pain, fear, rage, and hunger can be found in almost every modern physiology textbook, while the topics of love and human companionship are notable for their total absence. Even the growing willingness to accept a link between emotional stress and disease itself a very recently acquired cultural attitude. The very fact that a person can tolerate deteriorated dialogue and sometimes even encourage it is something that we would often prefer to deny, for reflecting on the implication is not pleasant. Some people are trapped in totally impoverished relationships without even being able to recognize why it happened. #RyanPhillippe 12 of 13

IMG_mn5o8d.jpg

In order to understand why the idea that companionship is related to physical health has been ignored, and is stilled overlooked by our society, it would be helpful to first review why the basic idea that emotions influence the way the body functions was also resisted for so long. When people are lonely, they go adopt a pet, but not everyone likes dogs or cats. It is too bad we cannot adopt adults and hope they would love us the way an animal would. So if you are waiting to express your love for someone, do not wait until they are dead and gone to figure out how much they meant to you. Take the time to guide someone and show them the path to salvation, instead of just feeling sorry for them in passing. #RyanPhillippe 13 of 13

Take Pride in Your Work and You Will be Successful

Sometimes individuals have jobs that lack challenge and variety, but everyone likes a career that satisfies our requirement for novelty and achievement. In situations like these, one is required to expend additional psychic energy to reap the desired benefits. Without some effort, a dull job will stay dull. The basic solution is quite simple, it involved paying close attention to each step involved in the job, and then asking: Is this step necessary? Who needs it? If it is really necessary, can it be done better, faster, more efficiently? What additional steps could make my contribution more valuable? #RandolphHarris 1 of 10

Our attitude to work usually involves spending a lot of effort trying to cut corners and do as little as possible. However, that is a short-sighted strategy. If one spent the same amount of attention trying to find ways to accomplish more on the job, one would enjoy working more—and probably be more successful at it, too. The pressure to perform can easily generate shame, and the presence of shame makes it harder to adequately perform which just catalyzes more shame. Part of what is required here is to know the particular origins of the pressure to perform. #RandolphHarris 2 of 10

Even some of the most important discoveries come about when scientist, paying attention to a routine process, notices something new and unusual that is required to be explained. Wilhelm C. Roentgen discovered radiation when he noticed that some photographic negatives showed signs of being exposed even in the absence of light; Alexander Fleming discovered penicillin when he noticed that bacterial cultures were less dense on dishes that had not been cleaned and were moldy; Rosalyn Yalow discovered the radioimmunoassay technique after she noticed that diabetics absorbed insulin slower than normal patients, instead of faster, as it had been assumed. #RandolphHarris 3 of 10

In all these cases—and the records of science are full of similar one—a humdrum event is transformed into a major discovery that changes the way we live because someone paid more attention to it than the situation seemed to require. If Archimedes, lowering himself into the bath, had only thought, “Darn, I got the floor wet again, what will the missus say?” humankind might have had to wait another few hundred years to understand the principle of fluid displacement. #RandolphHarris 4 of 10

As Rosalyn Yalow describes her own experience: “Something comes up, and you recognize that it has happened.” Sounds simple, but most of us are usually too distracted to recognize when something happens. As minute changes can result in great discoveries, so small adjustments can turn a routine job, one dreads, into a professional performance one can look forward to with anticipation each morning. #RandolphHarris 5 of 10

First, one must pay attention so as to understand thoroughly what is ha ppening is the only way to do the job; then one is required to entertain alternatives and to experiment with them until a better way is found. When employees are promoted to more challenging positions, it usually is because they followed these steps in their previous jobs. However, even if no one else notices, the worker who uses psychic energy this way will have a more satisfying job. #RandolphHarris 6 of 10

One of the clearest examples I have ever seen was when I did research in a factory where audiovisual equipment was being assembled on a production line. Most of the workers on the line were bored and looked down on their job as something beneath them. Then I met Matthew, who had a completely different take on what he was doing. He actually thought his job was difficult, and that it took a great skill to do it. It turned out he was right. Although he had to do the same job as everyone else, he had trained himself to do it with the economy and the elegance of a master. #RandolphHarris 7 of 10

About four hundred times a day, a movie camera would stop at his station, and Matthew had forty-three seconds to check out whether the sound system met specifications. Over a period of years, experimenting with tools and patterns of motion, he had been able to reduce the average time it took him to check each camera to twenty-eight seconds. He was as proud of this accomplishment as an Olympic athlete would be if, after the same number of years spent preparing, he could break the forty-four second mark in the 400-meter sprint. #RandolphHarris 8 of 10

Matthew did not get a medal for his achievement, and reducing the time to go his job did not improve production, because the line still kept moving at the same old speed. However, he loved the exhilaration of using his skills fully: “It is better than anything else—a whole lot better than watching TV.” And because he sensed that he was getting close to his limit in the present job, he was taking evening courses for a diploma that would open up new options for him in electronic engineering. #RandolphHarris 9 of 10

It will come as no surprise that the same type of approach is required for solving the problem of stress at work, since stress is detrimental to achieving flow. In common usage, the work stress applies both to the tensions we feel, and to its external causes. This ambiguity leads to the erroneous assumption that external stress must be inevitably result in psychic discomfort. However, here again, there is no one-to-one relations between the objective and the subjective; external stress (which to avoid confusion we might call strain) need not lead to negative experiences. It is true that people feel anxious when they perceive the challenges and skills rests on a subjective evaluation that is amenable to change. #RandolphHarris 10 of 10

Your First Time Here—Seeing is Believing?

ghjkl

There are times, when the mind being painfully alive to receive impressions, a great deal may be noted at a glance. It would be a fallacy to assume that evolutionary change must be completely gradual. In all lineages, the pace assuredly speeds up and slows down as a result of factors that influence the size and relative isolation of population. In addition, environmental changes that influence the pace and direction of natural selection must also be considered. Some men endeavor so long to blind other individual’s eyes, that at last they quite darken their own; and although in their nature they are certainly daws (obsolete), yet they find a method of persuading themselves that they are peacocks. #RyanPhillippe 1 of 16

cvhbjnkm,.

The mind’s eye is not formed to take in many ideas, no one than the body’s eyes many objects at once. Even the clearest and most perfect circumstantial evidence is likely to be at fault, after all, and therefore ought to be received with great caution. Take the case of the Sun, have you ever seen the Sun set? You may think you have. Yet, in reality, we know the Sun does not set. Instead, our viewing angel changes as the Earth turns, until the Sun is obscured by the horizon. Want to try the alternative? This evening, stand facing the west. With practice, you can learn to feel yourself being swept back on the rotating surface of the Earth as you watch an unmoving Sun recede in the distance. #RyanPhillippe 2 of 16

tfgyhujkl

This radical shift in perspective illustrates the limitations of objective observation. Like most experiences, seeing a sunset is a perceptual reconstruction (mental model) of an external event. The common eye sees only the outside of things, and judges by that, but the seeing eye pierces through and reads the heart and mind, finding there capacities which the outside did not indicate nor promise, and which the other kind could not detect. Another way of appreciating this is to realize that it takes about 50 milliseconds for a visual signal to move from the retina to the brain. Therefore, the images we see are always slightly in the past. An event that happens quickly, like the pop of a flashbulb, may be over by the time we experience it. #RyanPhillippe 3 of 16

fcgvhbjnkm

As we have seen, perception reflects the needs, expectations, attitudes, values, and beliefs of the perceiver. In this light, the phrase seeing is believing must be modified. Clearly, we can see what we believe, as well as believe what we see. In some cases, subjective perception nurtures the personal vision valued in art, photography, music, poetry, and scientific innovation. Often, however, it is a real liability. We are living in the age of digital technology and everyone is looking to be the first to report a story or share an image, but you have to be careful. There are a lot of gossip sites out there and photo altering programs, which may make it look and sound like something happened, when it in fact did not. #RyanPhillippe 4 of 16

cvb

The news media has been starving for ratings and some outlets are willing to report anything to increase the people tuning into their programs and web sites, and often times this has disastrous consequences. Gossip sites like Just Jared, Perze Hilton, Page Six, and even tabloids like People Magazine are desperate for revenue so they photoshop imagines of celebrities and share information from “insiders,” which is often times false. Gossip is trivial talk, often involving personal or sensational rumors. Rumors are reports of uncertain origin and unreliable information.  If a person cannot name their source, then you really should realize the report is an unconfirmed rumor or gossip and is not news. So you cannot always trust media practitioners. #RyanPhillippe 5 of 16

Cd17H4nUIAMbvY-

The quest to sell more papers or get more ratings or web traffic is often just promotional hoopla cooked up in the propaganda department, and is known as “yellow journalism.” Yellow journalism is sensational news that is hyperbolized and fabricated to attract more of an audience.  Once yellow journalism was isolated in areas of modern journalism such as supermarket tabloids and trash documentary programs on television. However, even the news is starting to engage in sleazy gossip as news. It is a sad day in news when the Business and Economic correspondent is trying to pass off unconfirmed celebrity gossip as news. #RyanPhillippe 6 of 16

2c

This is why many people do not believe that celebrity stories should be part of the news broadcast, as it makes the program and reporters lose credibility and the public’s trust. The news should really avoid sideshows and report and comment seriously on important issues and events, instead of pandering to the offbeat, tawdry and sensational. The journalistic ideal, an unbiased seeking of truth and an unvarnished telling of it, dictates that the work be done without partisanship. Yet, as human beings, journalists have person values that influence all that they do, including their work. #RyanPhillippe 7 of 16

Cd17GlFUkAEbrit

Because the news judgment decisions that journalists make are so important to an informed citizenry, we need to know what makes these people tick. Are they left wingers? Are they ideological zealots? Are they quirky and unpredictable?  Are they conscientious? Remember that perceptions are reconstructions of reality. Learn to regularly question your own perceptions. Are they accurate? Could another interpretation fit the fact? Could they be false? How might your assumptions be distorting your perceptions? Beware of perceptual sets. Any time you label individuals, objects, or events, there is danger that your perceptions will be distorted by expectations or preexisting categories. Therefore, be especially wary stereotypes. #RyanPhillippe 8 of 16

1118full-ryan-phillippe

Try to see people as individuals and events as unique, one-time occurrences. Be aware of the ways in which motives and emotions influence perceptions. It is difficult to avoid being swayed by your own interests, needs, desires, and emotions. However, be aware of this trap and actively try to see the World through the eyes of others. Taking the other individual’s perspective is especially valuable in disputes or arguments. Ask yourself, “How does this look to him or her?” Actively look for additional evidence to check accuracy of your perceptions. Ask questions, seek clarifications, and find alternate channels of information. #RyanPhillippe 9 of 16

Catch Hell 2014 (3)

Remember that perception is not automatically accurate. You could be wrong—we all are frequently. Pay attention. Make a conscious effort to be fully present in the moment. Do not drift through life in a haze. Listen to others with full concentration. Watch their facial expressions. Make eye contact. Try to get into the habit of approaching perception like you are going to have to testify later about what you saw and heard. Impression formed when a person is surprised, threatened, or under stress are especially prone to distortion. That is why witnesses to crimes so often disagree. #RyanPhillippe 10 of 16

Catch-Hell-14502

As a dramatic demonstration of the problem, a college professor was attacked by an actor in a staged assault. Immediately after the event 141 witnesses were questioned in detail. Their descriptions were then compared to a videotape made of the staged “crime.” The total accuracy score for the group (on features such as appearance, age, weight, and height of the assailant) was only 25 percent of the maximum possibility. Similarly, a study of real eyewitness cases found that the wrong person was chosen from police lineups 25 percent of the time. #RyanPhillippe 11 of 16

Ryan+Phillippe+Suits+Men+Suit+z-IereBvT0ol

Psychologists are gradually convincing lawyers, judges, and the police officers of the fallibility of eyewitness testimony. Nevertheless, thousands of people have been wrongly convicted. A revealing study found that eyewitness accuracy is virtually the same. Jurors who place more weight on the testimony of victims may be making a serious mistake. Witnesses who are confident in their testimony are no more likely to be accurate than those who have doubts. #RyanPhillippe 12 of 16

fghjm

A police officer testified that he saw a defendant shoot a victim, in one particular case, as both stood in a doorway 120 feet away. Measurements made by a psychologist showed that at that distance, light from the dimly lit doorway was extremely weak—less than a fifth of that from a candle. To further show that identification was improbable, a juror stood in the doorway under identical lighting conditions. None of the jurors could identify hi. The defendant was acquitted.  #RyanPhillippe 13 of 16

way-of-the-gun-2000-05-g

Also, in many crimes, victims fall prey to the phenomenon of weapon focus. Understandably, victims often fix their entire attention on the knife, gun, or other weapon used by an attacker. In doing so, they fail to perceive details of appearance, dress, or other clues to identity. And in another case, a photojournalist allegedly obtained nude photos of a young man, and showed them around the newsroom. When the young man’s father found out, he viewed the photos and knew it was not his son. The male appendage, in the photos the photographer had was nine inches long, his son is not quite that large. #RyanPhillippe 14 of 16

So be careful about how you obtain information and where you get it from. Ryan thought his son was stealing from him, frequently money would come up missing and private photos and information were being leaked. Ryan eventually became convinced of his son’s guilt, but said nothing. As his distrust and anger grew, their relationships turned cold and distant. Finally, at his co-worker’s advice, Ryan confronted his son. The son cleared himself immediately and expressed relief when the puzzling change in their relationship was explained. With their bond reestablished, the true culprits were caught soon. (The cleaning woman and her reporter friends did it!) #RyanPhillippe 15 of 16

20160319_175627

If you have ever concluded that someone was angry, upset, or unfriendly without checking the accuracy of your perceptions, you have fallen into a subtle trap. Personal objectivity is an elusive quality, requiring frequent reality testing to maintain. At the very least, it pays to ask a person what he or she is feeling when you are in doubt. Clearly, most of us could learn to be better “eyewitnesses” to daily events. Again, I ask you, have you ever seen the Sunset? No, but because of ongoing misunderstandings, illegal computer hacking, and “insider” information, you may think you have. If the doors of perception were cleaned, man and woman would see everything as it is, infinite. Be aware of the ways in which motives and emotions influence perceptions. #RyanPhillippe 16 of 16

In Being Wild and Natural—there is a lot of Self-Control and Honor

1118full-ryan-phillippe.jpg

Some individuals have gone through extreme lengths to make their work meaningful, some have left a normal existence in order to dedicate themselves to making a difference in the lives of others. There are a great many ways to make one’s job more meaningful by adding value to it. A supermarket clerk who pays genuine attention to customers, a physician concerned about the total well-being of patient rather than just specific symptoms, a news reporter who considers trust at least as important as the sensational interest when writing a story, can transform a routine job with ephemeral consequences into one that makes a difference. #RyanPhillippe 1 of 7

With increasing specialization, most occupational activities have become repetitive and one-dimensional. It is difficult to build a good self-concept if all one does is type reports all day long or fill out forms from morning to night. By taking the whole context of the activity into account, and understanding the impact of one’s actions on the whole, a trivial job can turn into a memorable performance that leaves the World it better shape that it was before. To transcend a need is to go beyond it, to surpass that level of existence. #RyanPhillippe 2 of 7

"Legally Blonde" Southampton Screening - July 7, 2001

The satisfaction of physical needs is indeed the indispensable precondition of a satisfactory existence but in itself it is not enough. In order to be content, men must also have the possibility of developing their intellectual and artistic powers to whatever extend accords with their personal characteristics and abilities. As a young person moves into adolescence, assuming that his survival requirements are met and he had gained a sense of autonomy, security, and love, he now faces a still more difficult takes. Now he must begin to answer the difficult question, “Who am I?” and to seek satisfaction for his ego requirements. Ego here refers to the sense of self, the individual within your body who is the real you. #RyanPhillippe 3 of 7

Like everyone else, I could make a long list of encounters with workers who, in addition to doing their job, helped reduce the entropy around them. An actor who quit his job in Hollywood to protect his family, and did it with a smile on his face; a real-estate agent who kept helping years after the house sold; a flights attendant who was willing to stay after the rest of the crew left the airport to locate a missing child…In all such cases, the value of the job performance was increased because the worker was willing to invest extra psychic energy into it, and was able to withdraw from it additional mean because he was given enough support and love by his parents while he was young so that he is secure, not afraid to try new things. #RyanPhillippe 4 of 7

bjnkm,.

He developed a strong sense of autonomy, and feels secure enough about his own personality—strengths, weaknesses, and uniqueness—to expand his horizons. Because he cares so much about life and doing the best that he can, Ryan is not burdened by the deficiency-motivation. Not everyone has to have a perfect childhood. Ryan found ways to overcome deficiencies so they do not prevent him from concentrating on expanding is abilities, enjoying his life—not always hung up as some lower level. How? Perhaps through therapy, perhaps through association with other people. Ryan is not controlled by the wishes of other people. This is not to say that he scorns tradition and cares nothing about other people’s needs. It is to say that he is not controlled by these things, when he wants to do something different. #RyanPhillippe 5 of 7

ryan-phillippe_4806_w620

Ryan is a self-actualizer and tends to be impatient with trivial and nonsensical rules. He will be bound by a rule if it makes sense to him. He seeks novelty, stimulation, challenge, rather than safety. In his job, Ryan will not be so much tempted by a larger salary as by the chance to do something well, to experiment. However, the meaning he derives from a job does not come free. As these examples show, one must do some thinking and caring beyond what the job description calls for. And this in turns requires additional attention, which, as had been said again and again, is the most precious resource we have. #RyanPhillippe 6 of 7

The special private happiness of the free person comes from his finding ways that help him be present in what he is doing. “When I feel most pressured, most unfree, it is usually because I am not there as me. I do not mean that I am not in what I am doing, necessarily, I mean that I am driving myself, treating myself as an object, a tool, an instrument,” reports Ryan Phillippe. None of this is mean to imply that he is perfect all of the time, but Ryan can hardly be called ordinary. He is a person, who because of his own motivations, has been able to use more of his ability and intelligence than must, because in the main, he is not controlled by his own lower requirements nor by other people. #RyanPhillippe 7 of 7

McScuse Me, Bitch?!

fghjm

Marriages are made in Heaven. Recently, my friend posted up a picture on social media with his fiancé, and some woman. He and the woman are all hugged up, while his fiancé is on the side. And this really upset me and heaped some coals on the fire and ignited some passion in my heart. If you are in love, you do not allow people to be all up on you like that, I do not care if you are a public figure. Even the illusion of infidelity is wrong, and it will upset your spouse. If you want a happy home, you are required to make your spouse feel secure and running around with strange women is upsetting to your fiancé. #RyanPhillippe 1 of 2

Personally, if you and I were in a relationship, we would have had a knocked down drag out fight in the parking lot over that picture. It is wrong! Your spouse should come before your career and image. It does not feel good to even suspect your mate is cheating, it is a soul shattering, Earth rocking experience, and will take time, maybe years to recover from. If you really love your spouse, you are required to prove it be not only being faithful, but appearing to be faithful. In some cultures, you and that harlot would have got throat checked on the spot. God does not like ugly! #RyanPhillippe 2 of 2
