Beware the Helicopters Have Come to Tear the Feathers Out of My Frontal Lobes!
So we ransacked each other’s souls during the Dark Trick, that is what is supposed to happen. I wish I could eat your little mind now. You have got me puzzled. Dreaming dreams. I am forgetting things, like, for instance, that those I make usually wind up despising me or leaving me for simpler reasons. Despite its unsavory reputation, revenge may play a constructive role in the relational context. Certainly, it is noted that the desire for revenge is not irrational, though its expression requires moderation. The dangers of vengeance are exaggerated and its importance for a “sense of self-esteem and integrity underestimated.” I supposed that is why the Holy Quran reports in chapter 5:95, “Allah has pardoned what is past; but whoever returns [to violation], then Allah will take retribution from him. And Allah is Exalted in Might and Owner of Retribution.” So that means humans have no right to seek revenge and the Christian Bible agrees. In Romans 12:19 of the Holy Bible reports, “Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: ‘It is mine to avenge; I will repay,’ says the Lord.” Clearly, people who have been rejected and deeply hurt feel a powerful impulse to reciprocate the pain; perhaps, then, society needs to find ways for helping people constructively with this impulse. #RyanPhillippe 1 of 9
One of the purposes of Human Rights, the United States Constitution, and other state and local laws and to protect the God given rights of freedom in order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and that is why American government and law enforcement are supposed to obey Constitution laws. We do not want a society that is lawless, uncivilized, and think that they are gods and can hunt, track, and abuse people as they wish. That is not only a violation of Constitutional Rights, but also a violation of the laws and Human Rights. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights was proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly in Paris, on 10 December 1948, General Assembly resolution 217 (III). It is a common standard of achievements for all peoples and all nations. It sets out, for the first time, fundamental human rights to be universally protected. With human rights, countries legally have to recognize the inherent dignity and the equal and inalienable rights of all members of the human family, it is the foundation of freedom, justice, and peace in the World. #RyanPhillippe 2 of 9
You know I have heavy thoughts, more than usual links in the chain that bound fledglings to their living past. Article 2 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights States: Everyone is entitled to all the rights and freedoms set forth in the declaration, without distinction of any kind, such as race, colour, gender, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or others status. Furthermore, no distinction shall be made on the basis of political, jurisdictional or international status of the country or territory to which a person belongs, whether it be independent, trust, non-self-governing or under any other limitation of sovereignty. Article 3 states: Everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of person. Article 4 states: No one shall be held in slavery or servitude; slavery and the slave trade shall be prohibited in all their forms. Article 5 states: No one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment. Article 6 states: Everyone has the right to recognition everywhere as a person before the law. Article 7 states: All are equal before the law and are entitled without any discrimination to equal protection of the law. All are entitled to equal protection against any discrimination in violation of the Declaration and against any incitement to such discrimination. And Article 8 states: Everyone has the right to an effective remedy by the competent national tribunals for acts violating the fundamental rights granted him by the constitution or by law. #RyanPhillippe 3 of 9
The town’s full tonight in spite of the heat. There are more articles to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, but I wanted to make it clear that if you violate a person’s Constitutional Rights, knowingly and willfully, that the United Nations has established Human Rights, which an individual who has been the victim of ongoing torture and abuse can contact the United Nations and they can open an investigation. Rampant violence, harassment, and sexual abuse, even against one individual will not be tolerated. If wished-for revenge is illegal or impossible to obtain, one can stay angry, which is bad for one’s health, or one can deny one’s anger and try to forget the betrayal, which is often impossible because of its painful nature. Another option beside contacting authorities and letting them know that you are being tortured, while they are investigating, an individual can forgive, and in doing so, to paradoxically achieve the highest form of revenge. In this respect, (reputed) advice to always forgive your enemies—nothing infuriates them so! In the Holy Bible, I found Matthew’s number, it is chapter 5 verse 44, and states, “Love your enemy and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in Heaven. He causes the Sun to rise on the deviant and the good and sons the rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.” #RyanPhillippe 4 of 9
We were out of the house and on the road within three minutes, maybe less, moving on mortal time so as not to alarm any further the full chorus of those shouting at us. It was I who gave the command with a quick smile that elicited forgiveness as the almost exclusive preserve of a human and civilized society. There are many unanswered questions about forgiveness. And sorrow and guilt are the energizing forces behind apology. However, Psychopathology does not always cause personal anguish. A person displaying obviously bizarre behavior might feel “on top of the World.” Also, a lack of discomfort may reveal a problem. If you were to show no signs of concern for someone who has been seriously injured, no signs of grief or depression in response to the death of a friend or a loved one, we might suspect psychopathology. Psychopaths, also known as sociopathy is traditionally defined as a personality disorder characterized by persistent antisocial behavior, impaired empathy and remorse, and bold, disinhibited, egotistical traits. This is what is known as abnormal psychology. Each year over 2.4 million persons are admitted or readmitted to out-patient services or psychiatric treatment in general hospitals. #RyanPhillippe 5 of 9
Psychopathy is difficult to spot. The psychopath can appear normal, even charming. However, underneath, lacks conscience and empathy, making that individual manipulative, volatile, and often (but by no means always) a criminal. Psychopaths tend to be callous, and unemotional. Nonetheless, psychopaths tend to blend into their surroundings in such a way that they go unnoticed. Psychopaths establish relationships with people around them so that they establish relationships with people around them as a means of being able to influence and manipulate others, often without being detected. Psychopaths are dangerous because they are hidden and people do not expect friends to deliberately to them harm nor to be so deviant. Psychopaths are often called “Snakes in Suits.” The psychopath is well socialized and will present themselves as the perfect partner by noticing the victim’s needs, insecurities, and strengths, as well as weaknesses in order to create a persona that seems like the ideal to the victim. The victim quickly likes and then trusts the psychopath and so the mind control begins. They can be charming, witty, and seem intelligent, talking easily about a range of topics. They seem friendly and understanding and may be the life and soul of the party. However, for the psychopath, it is all about impression management. They are creating impressions, knowing that first impressions count. It is all so intoxicating. #RyanPhillippe 6 of 9
Once the psychopath has established the relationship and feel they created the level of control or dependency that they want, they start to take what they desire, do what they please and behave in ways that is natural to them. This can range from spending others money, stealing (possessions or information), demeaning others simply to demonstrate superiority, emotional and mental abuse, to physical and sexual abuse, and even murder. Psychopaths lie very easily to continue the deceit and manipulation. Nothing is their fault. They will argue, justify, and/or blame others for things that go wrong. They may have the ability to seem genuinely sorry when caught out and can apologize and make promises that it will never happen again. However, it is all an act. Psychopaths have no sense of responsibility or obligation and typically repeat the same actions time and time again. In business settings, the corporate psychopath can be attractive, have the ability to quickly make decisions, and get others to do things because of their sense of confidence and lack of fear in risky situations. The smooth talking and agility in lying can often get the through job interviews straight into position of considerable power and influence within an organization. #RyanPhillippe 7 of 9
I can hear the voices like the din from Hell. Call them grim soulless mortals feeding off the downtrodden or the downtrodden feeding off each other. The psychopath understands people frighteningly well; it is what allows them to stay hidden. They know how to create fear and how to use it against others. Psychopaths are cold and heartless with no pity nor concern for the damage that they do to their victims. When a person is no longer useful for them, they will discard that individual like sued objects. In romantic relations, for instance, a psychopath will leave the victim alone and broken hearted, wondering what they did wrong. They may be considerably poorer, too! More than once a socialized psychopath has disappeared from an organization, leaving a trail of destruction and chaos and severe problems in the accounting department and community. The socialized psychopath is more or less hidden in society, as if they have supernatural powers, but that does not mean they are not breaking the law. They may be engaged in fraud, assault, torture, and murder, but they have not been caught yet. Psychopaths do steal, defraud, physically abuse and mentally torture their victims. #RyanPhillippe 8 of 9
I always wonder—and never learn—whether or not the genuine Power Thugs every stop to look at the violet evening sky or the overhead branches of a Cyprus tree. Crack peddlers, children killers, the morgue’s never empty in our town, it is an eternal brew of calculated malice missed with moral ignorance. However, because the mind control and the adoration by the others, as well as the dependency the psychopath creates, frequently others are afraid to speak up. Another aspect is that the actions of a socialized psychopath may be ‘borderline’ illegal. With the state of the legal system in many places, it can be difficult to demonstrate (in legal form) emotional abuse or personality changes due to mind control. So while the entire community may know a psychopath is terrorizing a victim, there may be nothing that can be done because it is hard to prove in a court of law because people are unwilling to speak up and let it be known what happened to an individual. Either way, the problems caused by socialized psychopaths in the Word today are increasing. Until the laws change, it is your responsibility to protect yourself from them. The best way is to learn about their characteristics of psychopaths and to understand what mind control is so that you can stop it before you get caught in the web of lies and deceit. “For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open.” -Luke 8:17 #RyanPhillippe 9 of 9

Lookin’, Lookin’, Lookin’, Lookin’ for Revenge all Summer Sixteen
A devil born to a young couple is measurably recognizable by them as a devil before long, but a devil adopted by an antiquated couple is an angel to them, and remains so, through hardships and problems. A smile flitted across your face, but I could tell your mind was giving you no peace. One minute you were looking at the flowers as though they were out to attack you, and the next you were plunged into thought. The ancient and Universal desire to get even with those who have betrayed us is one of the most fundamental and potent of human passions. Despite the fundamental nature of the human urge to retaliate, however, revenge is generally regarded as unhealthy and signifying some kind of mentally unwell mind. Revenge has also fallen out of our vocabulary, as if modern humanity were embarrassed by its melodrama. There is such a thing as a man being pious and honest, in the private way; and there is such a thing as public virtue. A live dog is better than a dead lion. At the age of 27-years-old, a woman concocted and boiled a brew of floor cleaner, disinfectant, bleach, candle wax, and house, and poured it over her boyfriend’s penis as he slept because he wanted to break up with her, now she is severing seven years in prison. #RyanPhillippe 1 of 7
Certainly, a few admit to plotting revenge much like the rap artist Drake in his song Summer Sixteen, “Looking for revenge all Summer sixteen. Playing dirty, not clean. Out front of Four Seasons looking like a damn football team, all in the same thing, all representing one thing. Looking for revenge. To do what you could not do. Tell Obama my verses are just like the whips (cars) that he in, they are bulletproof,” although some will freely admit to exacting revenge on their enemies. However, surprisingly, very little psychological research has focused on revenge, which is defined as the infliction of harm in return for perceived wrong. In primitive times, people coped with injustice through revenge; indeed, for many peoples, including the ancient Greeks, revenge was equated with justice. The school of thought was: When we are stuck without a reason, we should strike back again and very hard. However, if men cannot stand before the sentence of men, what will they do with the sentence of God? At various times in history it was even considered acceptable to take revenge against inanimate objects, like trees, that were perceived to have harmed an individual or that you were jealous of. #RyanPhillippe 2 of 7
One man even took revenge on another man by sending someone to his house, while he was at work and during the Summer to cut branches off of his Cyprus trees to dry them out so they would die, and ripped a rare tree out of the ground and stuck in it a small pot of water. He also told the man he was going to “block him in,” which means have him arrested and put in a prison cell block because the man refused to supply him with anymore free labor. So the perpetrator then went back to the victim’s house and built a wood barrier, which resembles a planter box around the fence and left it unfinished. And took advantage of the victim’s vulnerable mother by convincing her she needed a camera system, and simply put holes and the wall and hacked into the electrical wires and strung them across the exterior of the wall, leaving them exposed, and left the job unfinished, which significantly reduced the value of the house because appraisers thing the property now has an electrical problem and could potentially be a fire trap because the work was clearly done by an unprofessional contractor. Similarly, parents would frequently “punish” inanimate objects on behalf of their hurt children (witnesses, for example, parents who console a toddler who has stumbled into a table by “smacking the table and informing it of its “naughtiness”). #RyanPhillippe 3 of 7
I do not want to fake my death, tell them lies, all that, disappear leaving a space where I was. I–. There are things I want to know from them. What motivates betrayed individuals to take revenge on their betrayers? Clearly, one important motive is that revenge helps “even the scores” between the two parties. In this sense, revenge and guilt are functionally similar in that both help to share the pain—causing one’s betrayer to suffer makes one feel better. For instance, in one cause study, a woman forced a man into a relationship with her by telling him that she would report that he physically forced her to have intercourse with her. After he broke up with, she stole a condom out of the trash that he has used with another woman, abused herself, and tried to get pregnant with the contents. Then she broke into his house and cut his leather sofa, bleached and shredded all of his clothes, then told people that they were engaged to get married because he had moved on. This, she said, “Made her feel much better,” because they were “Madly in love.” However, she also talked in some detail of her fervent wish and intention to more than simply kill him. She wanted hit to suffer the way in which she had suffered, i.e., “feeling alone, frightened, and humiliated.” #RyanPhillippe 4 of 7
Again, this case points to the strong links between humiliation, rejection, and revenge that have been noted by serval researchers. However, she did not stop there. The young lady went on to tell that man that “he would never see his son again,” whom she was deeply jealous of and told the World that the mother of his children, former wife, who is one of the most famous celebrities in the World was, “Not invited to our wedding because I do not want her to overshadow it.” Not to mention that the young late literally took art imitating life to a new level. She had become obsessed with the role that the man’s former wife played in a movie, where she was an Ivy League law student, and became a lawyer. The obsessed enrolled at an Ivy League university and allegedly graduated from law school this Summer Sixteen. Given that humiliation inflicts such a deep and painful injury to a person’s self-esteem and social status, taking revenge might well be regarded as a powerful means of restoring dignity and regaining some control over the situation. With respect to actual revenge behaviors, there is no limit to human inventiveness, from everyday acts of vindictiveness (e.g., being unhelpful, gossiping), to torture, physically forcing one into a sexual act, or mass murder. #RyanPhillippe 5 of 7
People generally have some sympathy for the vengeful behaviors of rejected lovers, certainly, one famous case inspired much public amusement, if not sympathy, concerned a college student, whose former partner left her for someone else, and she cut four inches off the sleeves of all his suits, busted out the windows on his BMW, cut the tires, broke out the windows, scratched the paint, and left stones in the car; and gave away his vintage wine collection to local villagers in a project based high rise building. Usually, revenge is not so dramatic, but when people are allowed to circumvent the law, they can get away with terrorizing others. Fantasies of revenge can be lurid. For instance, in a study of students’ experiences of desiring revenge, we have found vivid thoughts of vengeance for erotic unfaithfulness, your lover wrestling in the sheets with someone else is likely to drive you insane with just the thought. Indiscretions, having been slighted, being cheated on. Fortunately, students’ fantasies tended to far outweigh vengeful actions, even so, a number of acts were reported, including the destruction of cherished possession, their theft of antique pictures, public humiliation, and gossip. #RyanPhillippe 6 of 7
No person can live happily with another simply upon esteem. The impulse to take revenge in response to a betrayal, then, is undoubtedly powerful and profoundly human; but actually taking revenge can cause problems, especially when the act of revenge itself constitutes a relational betrayal that encourages further revenge when reciprocation matches the behavior of the other party or parties after an initial effort is made to cooperate. You do to them what they did to you in the previous move. The glowing, dream-World sacrificial virgin ends up being physically assaulted, choked while driving, comes to the hospital for a long string of blood tests and x-rays, and is in intensive therapy, but no one knows why the young man is suffering so much all of the sudden. He looked at me. No flaw remained. All of those bruises, they were gone, as I knew they would be. However, I must confess (to you) that I have been a little unsure that he would live. She was so weak, so worked over, so torn. However, the cells had been there, hiding, waiting for the renewal. And the Blood had found them and re-created him. A Graduate of the School of Suffering
With glazed eyes I looked up at you, there was blood on my lips, just a touch and all the pain was gone, and the moment had come, the moment foe peace from pain, peace from struggle, peace from fear. Discovering a betrayal may come out of the blue and constitute a deeply distressing sock. The morning of our date was a fine Summer day. I was nervous, I had no idea what to expect but little time to worry about it. If relational trust is low, or the betrayer has been on probation because of a prior offense, a partner may actively search for evidence of deception. The initial discovery and experience of betrayal goes beyond the mere cognitive awareness that a violation has occurred, rather, the feeling of violation is registered at a deep, visceral level. The pain and hurt are amongst the first and most acute emotional reactions to the awareness that one has been betrayed. At some point, however, the powerful emotional impact of betrayal will motivate a considerable amount of conscious, cognitive effort to figure out its causes and implications, both for the partner and for the relationship. And, depending on how the betrayed partner interprets the situation, a variety of negative emotions other than hurt may be expressed. #RyanPhillippe 1 of 5
Betrayal of trust is the most intensely anger-provoking type of relational transgression, anger that arises, no doubt, because betrayed individuals typically appraise the motives of their betrayers as malevolent, dispositional (a mean streak), and intentional. Such appraisals, along with perceptions of unjustness and moral wrongness reliably elicit anger in most relational contexts. Another emotion that may be experienced in response to betrayal is hatred—an emotion about which psychologist know little, but that is considered by laypeople to be a powerful motivator of destructive and vengeful behaviors. Humiliation and appraisals of relative powerlessness were important elicitors of hatred for an offending spouse, thus it might be expected that hatred would be experienced in response to deeply humiliation and appraisals of powerlessness. Moreover, betrayals involving deceit, sever loss of social status and infidelity are likely to evoke the highly complex emotional syndrome knows as jealousy, comprising elements such as fear of rejection, anger, and sadness. One may be alarmed if you are not worried for their safety after all you have put them through. I saw my heart, my very heart. Moreover, betrayals that have involved deceit, coercion into taking provocative photographs, sexual or emotional infidelity are destructive because emotions motivate different kinds of behaviors, and so play a major role in how the interpersonal betrayal script progresses. Anger, for example, typically tends to motivate confrontation and engagement with the offending party, whereas hate tend to motivate avoidance or emotional withdrawal. Once a betrayed individual has discovered and reacted to a partner’s betrayal, the typical next step is for the betrayer to provide some kind of explanatory account of their behavior. The betrayers may believe that their intentions were good. They may argue they were doing their victims a favor, or at least, that their betrayals were unintended, excusable, and due to temporary, extending or unstable causes. However, regardless of how benignly betrayers regard their own motives, the accounts they give of their actions must be carefully tailored if they are to achieve their relational goals. I was a perfect soul unlike any other, tutored in courage, never looking back, lifted from misery, and seeking to marvel at all things without malice nor lamenting. However, a betrayer may sincerely regret their behavior and desire their partner’s forgiveness, but may also desire to maintain pride and control of the situation and may defend or ignore their transgressions in order to power force. Or, a betrayer may desire the partner’s forgiveness, yet also desire to end the relationship. It is important to mitigate the situation and make some form of restitution. Nonetheless, the most blameworthy offenders are likely to tell more lies and give the shortest and most aggravating accounts, suggesting that these were highly culpable offenders and may have been more motivated to save their self-esteem than to win forgiveness. Some may even feel like you are lucky to even be involved with them, even though they abused you, and you should feel proud to be in a relationship with a man who was able to get such a beautiful affairee. You saw a graduate of the school of suffering. You saw me. Without a doubt, the most constructive kind of account is if the betrayer’s goal is to repair the relationship and that is a concessionary one involving apologies and the sincere expression of remorse. A wealth of psychological literature attests to the power of apology in ameliorating relational damage. More profuse apologies result in less blame, greater forgiveness, less desire for punishment, greater liking and a stronger belief that the offender was really sorry for his or her offense. Apologies are helpful in softening negative attitudes toward an offender and in reducing urges to aggressively retaliate. Apologies are powerful because the submissive posture of the apologizer, and its implications for restoring the esteem of the injured party. Essentially, the offender abases himself before the person he has wronged with a higher moral status than himself. The power of the apology to repair, then, derives from the gift of status that helps redress the power of imbalance between the two parties. You do not have to feel sorry, but you must look sorry and offer a resolution. Evidence that the lack of human companionship or disrupted social relationships may lead to the development of arteriosclerosis and sudden death. #RyanPhillippe 5 of 5

Man’s Desire of Earthly Experience Draws Him to Rebrith
The mansion, I loved it. I found it perfectly proportioned, which was not always the case with American Greek Revival houses, but this one, preening on its terrace of land, was more than agreeable and inviting, with its long pecan-tree drive, and its regal windows all around. Interior? What Americans call giant rooms. Dustless, manicured. Full of mantel clocks, mirrors, portraits and Persian rugs, and the inevitable mélange of nineteenth-century mahogany furniture that people mix with new reproductions of classic. Hepplewhite and Louis XIV styles to achieve the look they call Traditional or antique. Eh? And all pervaded by the inevitable drone of massive air-conditioning, which not only cooled the air magically, but provided the Privacy of Sound, which has so transformed the South in this day and age. One of the good things about loving the boy is I had not “made” him. He had come to me free of charge. I had felt a little like Socrates must have felt with all those gorgeous Greek boys coming to him for advice, that is, until somebody showed up with the Burning Hemlock. #RyanPhillippe 1 of 6
We often admire the folly of dupe, when we should transfer our whole surprise to the astonishing guilt of the betrayer. Men is false to himself, and betrays his own succors ten times where nature does it once. Loyalty (and its opposite, betrayal) is a manifestation of individual dispositions of a state-like or trait-like nature. Man’s desire of Earthly experience draws him to rebirth, and he is born into a form that fits his nature as a glove a hand; the soul of a warrior passes into the robust form of a warrior; the soul of a poet into the sensitive body of a poet. Trustworthiness is the number one quality we desire in other people, it is not being sexy nor attractive, it is really being able to trust somebody. Throughout recorded human history, treachery and betrayal have been considered amongst the very worst offenses people could commit against their kith and kin. Dante, for example, relegated traitors to the lowest and coldest regions of Hell, to be forever frozen up to their necks in a lake of ice with blizzards storming all about them, as punishment for acting so coldly toward others. #RyanPhillippe 2 of 6
Even today, the crime of treason merits the most severe penalties, including capital punishment. However, betrayals need not involve issues of national security to be regarded as serious. From sexual infidelity to disclosing a friend’s secrets, betraying another person or group of people implies unspeakable disloyalty, a breach of trust, and a violation of what is good and proper. Moreover, all of us will suffering both minor and major betrayals throughout our lives, and most of us will unwittingly betray others. To betray has many different meanings including to deliver up to an enemy, to be disloyal or unfaithful, to deceive or mislead, to reveal secrets, to seduce and desert, and to disappoint the hope or expectations of another. Implicit in a number of these definitions is the rejection of or discounting of one person by another; however, the nature of the relationship between interpersonal betrayal and rejection has not been addressed. Rejection tends to occur early in the process of trying to establish a relationship, whereas betrayal occurs in an established relationship where partners are involved with, and to an extent, trust one another. #RyanPhillippe 3 of 6
Rejection is painful, but the pain is for loss of potential relationship. Betrayal, however, is devastating because it disrupts an ongoing, meaningful relationship in which partners have invested material and emotional resoures. To be betrayed is worse than rejection, within an interpersonal relationship. Essentially, betrayal means that one party in a relationship acts in a way that favors his or her own interest at the expense of the other party’s interest. In one sense, this behavior implies that the betrayer regards his or her needs as more important than the need of the partner or the relationship. In a deeper sense, however, betrayal sends an ominous signal about how little the betrayer cares about, or values his or her relationship with, the betrayed partner. In particular, when those on whom we depend for love and support betray our trust, the feeling is like a stab at the heart that leaves us feeling unsafe, diminished, and alone. Psychologically, then, betrayal may be considered as a profound form of interpersonal rejection with potentially serious consequences for the healthy function of the betrayed individual. #RyanPhillippe 4 of 5
When two partners play by the rules and meet each other’s expectations, their relationship runs smoothly, and relatively little emotion, beneficial or negative, is experienced. However, when relationship partners behave in ways that violate each other’s expectations, there is an interruption, to the smooth running relationship and the scene is set for an emotional interaction between the partners. In particular, the partner whose expectations have been violated must attend to the situation and decide what is mean in relation to his or her needs, concerns, and goals. An individual who holds a strong belief that sexual infidelity is wrong and who expects their partner will be faithful is likely to be shocked and disappointed to discover infidelity, and to the extent that one has trusted the other not to behave in such a fashion, the partner is likely to feel betrayed. The key to betrayal lies in relationship knowledge structure people’s theories, beliefs, and expectations about how relations in general, and their own relationships particular, should work—and also in people’s trust that their partners will share, or at least respect those beliefs and meet those expectations. Interpersonal trust is the confident expectation that a partner is intrinsically motivated to take one’s own best interest into account when acting—even when incentives might tempt him or her to do otherwise. Clearly, trusting others exposed us to the risk of betrayal if they violate those confident expectations and take advantage of us. Moreover, if the relationship between two parties has been an intimate one, then the implications of betrayal are especially painful: The person to whom we have disclosed and entrusted our deepest fears and vulnerabilities appears neither to care about our relationship nor to be committed to it. I was on the couch doing some deep breathing to calm myself down. I was not feeling well, but there was nothing that I could do about it. My face was full of confusion and pain. What is this thing called love? This magic thing called love? I ask the Lord in Heaven above, what is this thing called love? The concept of love is biosocial and psychological: genuine love, in its non-erotic form, has a physical basis in attachment, and a social psychological basis in attunement (shared awareness and identity). Romantic love involves a second physical basis, which is sexual attraction. Each of these forms can lead to overwhelming feelings. We share in each other as we share in our feelings, whether in private contemplation or public ceremonial; what is shared belongs neither to professionals nor to masses, neither to ritual solemnities nor to casual delights, nether to past nor present, but embraces all. #RyanPhillippe 1 of 5
A body diversely incorporating the vision of non-erotic love is intense because it conjoins attachment emotions and genuine pride, a completing of ourselves, an awareness of transcendental forces in unexplained and irreducible images. The added experience of sexual desire in erotic love means a powerful confluence of these feelings, each intense alone. These affect and their various combinations from different types of what is called love. Criticism exists because love is endlessly fascinating, and one of the aspects that is fascinating about love is the sense of the oracular that we get from it. The fascination that the fool or the madman had for primitive loved was based on the feeling that when the ordinary consciousness was disordered or put out of action, something mysterious, awful, perhaps divine could speak in its place. As we go about our daily activities, we have neither the interest nor the resources to investigate the thousands of assumptions that we make, and to a large extent, share with other members of our society, about ourselves and the World. Nowadays, we have a similar veneration for creative minds, the word creative being fossilized religious metaphor, and have developed psychological theories about the creative nature of the subconscious or unconscious parts of the mind. These parts are usually thought of as the lower depth of the mind, corresponding to the oracular caverns of Greek religion. Only eccentrics, artists or scientists have the time and inclination to challenge everyday assumption. Any objective investigation of the emotional/relational World is sure to challenge major institutions; not only the political and economic ones, but also those dealing with family, education, and religion. Our commonsense, the shared understanding we have in these societies tells of that individuals are good, they are connected to freedom, and relationships are bad, they are connected to restraint. Love can be experienced in different modes, some excruciatingly painful because of the loss of true intimacy and community in modern societies. Our conception of anger, fear, shame, grief, contempt, disgust, and joy may be unclear, but they are transparent enough so that we can communicate about. Love is supposed to be pleasurable, and it is also, in many ways, the most important thing in life. However, many people believe that love is a painful affliction or madness, an impairment. In autumn, caught by pains of menacing death, I falter, lost in the love trance. Romantic love is the work of the Devil—it is a disease. One is lost in obsession, as a person in love unremittingly and uninterruptedly occupied with the image of the beloved. Then you reach the final torment: utter despair poisoned still further by a shred of hope. Falling in love is kind of a sickness and craziness, an illusion, a blindness to what the loved person is really like. There is both an intense desire, but love also involves intimacy and commitment. And I was greatly in love, baptized in the life force, was a seer of visions and a dreamer of dreams, unconsciously charming and unfailingly kind, a suffering hunter of the night who thrived only on the blood of the damned, and the company of the loving and uplifting. (The loving and the uplifting??? Like me, for instance? So the kid makes mistake. Besides, I was so in love with him that I put on a damned good show for him. And can I be damned for loving people who bring out the love in me? Is that so awful for a full-time monster? You will shortly come to understand that I am always talking about my moral evolution!) I call “fall in love” with anybody—man, woman, child, upir, the Pope. It does not matter. I am the ultimate Christian. I see God’s gifts in everyone. However, almost anyone would love him. Loving people like him was easy. Attunement involves connectedness between people, deep and seemingly effortless understanding, and understanding that one is understood. There is a sense of oneness. Cohersive Contorl–The Power of Not Knowing Who to Turn to

I looked up at the mansion, with its two-story white columns and many lighted windows, the place which had been the focus of my pain and fortune for the last few years, and I tried to figure out how to play this one—for the benefit of all involved. There are many sources of anger. Very often a complex of angry feelings is connected with fear. Another source of anger is that of pride, and especially that aspect of pride called vanity. Frequently, it is our personal pride that feeds and propagates anger. One source of pride is connected with self-sacrifice. If our relationships with others are associated with our small self in the form of sacrifice, then we are setting ourselves up for later anger, because the other person is usually unaware of our “sacrifice” and is, therefore, unlikely to fulfill our expectations. That which we want, desire, and insist upon from another person is felt by them as pressure. They will, therefore, unconsciously resist.

When people expect things for you, it is felt as emotional extortion. The unconscious formula goes, give me what I want or I will punish you by withdrawal, anger, pouting, sulking, and resentment. We all resent feeling emotionally exploited. Exploitation is the action or fact of treating someone unfairly to benefit from their work, it is a selfish utilization. You are taking unfair advantage of an individual and using their vulnerability for you own benefit. Harmful exploitation involves an interaction or interactions that leave the victim worse off than they were and than that person was entitled to be. The failure to offer repayment for a favour would create perceptions of exploitativeness and decreases in attraction in exchange relationships. We know that abusing people testifies to its serious consequences for the well-being of victims and their future life prospects. Exploitation of an individual for finances, by physical violence, or obtaining sexual favors or intimate photographs and then subsequently disrespecting an individual, or violent peer groups is associated with adverse outcomes for young people, including mental health, physical health, depression and suicide.

Many young people are in a developmental period, and they have repeatedly identified peer relationships, especially those involving abuse and violence to be among the main areas of anxiety and unhappiness in their lives. Young people have also clearly articulated that they do not feel their views and wishes are taken seriously or acted on by professional. Consequently, professional practice may not be responding to or reflecting young people’s own concerns, fears and wished regarding to or understanding the impact of peer violence or emotional exploitation. To assist with assessment risk, one must take into consideration the person age, living circumstances, background, overt aggression or power imbalances, evidence of coercion, attempts at secrecy by the partner, denial, minimization or acceptance the violence by the victim. The need for professionals both to recognize and respond to partner violence within young people’s relationships is indisputable.

Some young people have talked very openly about their experienced of partner violence. A few of them had been tricked into taken explicit photos, of a nature they had never taken in their life and may have been physically forced into sexual actions that they otherwise would not have engaged in. A single interview is insufficient to discuss such personal, and often hidden, experience. For some participants the location may have been a barrier to talking openly about such sensitive issues. Many young men are also negatively affected by violence and they may be forced to hide their vulnerability due to their perceived need to adhere to a hegemonic masculinity where feelings, especially vulnerability, are restricted to female, and therefore inferior, traits. Emotional forms of violence are possible the most difficult to ascertain, due to the wide range of behaviours that may constitute victimization. Coercive control is the most prevalent form of domestic violence, as it underpins both physical and sexual forms of intimate violence, but is often the most hidden for of abuse. This is due to the individualized form this abuse takes, with perpetrators targeting specific behavior at their victims, which becomes meaningful only when placed within the wider context of an abusive history.

Many young people who experience emotional violence in a relationship, technology played a huge role. Some people used the internet to humiliate and threaten them. Some of the youth reported that the person they were involved with would embarrassing them in public by holding hands with another person in front of them, going to their favorite place in the park with someone others than them, or invited someone to their home and then bragging to their partner, leaving them no chance to respond or talk about how it made them feel. And then their partners friend would bully the victim online and make fun of them. Some people consider this to be an example of severe emotional violence. Younger participants who claimed that they were negatively affected by the emotional violence that they experienced usually felt that way because it occurred with grater regularity then young people who were unaffected. Coercive control, which is a component of emotional violence is usually demonstrated by the individual who have power and understands intimate violence, and knows that there is an inequality of power and the other partner is rendered largely ineffectual.

The Pathway of Surrender—A Sentimental Journey

They are starting to wonder why it has been so long since he has gone home. Alone—cut off from all the World and all things—I stand there. I want to lie on the floor face down in the manner of a priest at his ordination. I want to be a priest. I want to consecrate the host! I want this so badly I ache for it. Although people in the World may seem stingy and hostile to other people, there is no reason why we should buy into this paradigm. When we buy into it, we make that a reality in our own life. As we experience the letting go of desires, we begin to see that what we have chosen will come into our life almost magically. What we hold in our minds tends to manifest. As was reported before, during times of supposed high unemployment, some people are not only employed, but have two or three jobs. This was a shockingly new way of looking at the World when it was first encountered. There was the hope that it was true, but also a skepticism that said, “This just is not possible on a pragmatic level.” We never can win freedom and justice and equality until we are doing something for ourselves.

The Pope is still smiling. “If You were not a saint, I would laugh at you. Exactly when are you expecting these Technology-saint, by the way?” he says. I am happy. He looks like the old Wojytla—the Pope who still went skiing until he was seventy-three. My visit has been worth it. And after all, we cannot all be Padre Pio or Mother Teresa. I am Saint Phillippe. “I will say hello for you to Padre Pio,” I whisper. However, the Pope is dozing. He has chuckled and drifted off. So much for my mystical import. I have put him to sleep. However, what did I expect, especially of the Pope? He works so hard. He suffers. He thinks. He has already traveled to Asia and Eastern Europe this year, and he will soon be going to Toronto and Guatemala and Mexico. I do not know how he can do these things. I place my hand on his forehead. Then I leave. The impossible becomes possible as soon as we are totally surrendered. This is because wanting blocks receiving it and results in a fear of not getting it. The energy of desire is, in essence, a denial that what we want is ours for the asking.

A little country cemetery on the edge of a cypress swamp, some of the tombs still had votive oil lamps places on their marble ledges; others contained the ceramic funeral vases that held balsamic fragrances. Whatever happened here had happened very quickly. It reminded Mr. Spinola of Pompeii, except that instead of raining ash on the tombs had been buried in dirt. Or, ore, precisely, mud. Judging from the grade of the Vatican hill at this precise spot, mud slides must have been common in ancient times. From what Mr. Spinola could tell, sometime in the second century a huge mud slide had enveloped this whole sector, covering up tombs and making them impossible to unearth. Abandoning a burial place would have constituted a rare and dramatic event, because funerary rights of relatives of the dead were enshrined in Roman law. However, clearly this lower stratum of tombs had been untouched since the slide. With a dozen or more old marble graves, most names long ago effaces, and one of these raised rectangular tombs black with soot from a recent fire, and the whole surrounded by a small iron fence and four immense oak trees, the kind that weighted down their dipping branches, and the sky the perfect color of lilacs, and the heat of the Summer sweet and caressing.

Then a marble inscription had been found in the landfill near the airport, and Italy’s Nucleo Tutela Partimoni Artistico—the archaeology police—suspected it had come from the Vatican’s excavation site. The Italian police must have altered the Vatican police, and at that point the problem began to spin out of control. It was bad enough that the Vatican Museums director had to get involved, and now it was in the papers. There were classic columbaria, covered huts with a series of wall niches, each with an urn that still held the cremated remains of the deceased. Mr. Spinola watched as his assistants carefully brushed dirt from a small stucco sculpture in one of the niches and revealed, incredibly, a three-headed dog and two male figures. It was a mythological scene that would have been known to every Roman of the time: the Trojan hero Aeneas stealing past Cerberus, the hound of Hades, watchdog of the underworld. The team then uncovered a mosaic pavement with the drunken Dionysius leaning on a satyr, a perfectly preserved miniature bust of a Roman matron and her high coiffure, numerous frescoes, biographical inscriptions and, in some cases, entire skeletons accompanied only by the trinkets and jewelry of the funeral ceremony.

I paced, having just risen from my secret hiding place, and I mourned bitterly for another Blood Driver who had perished in this very cemetery, on the aforementioned blackened grave, in an immense fire, and of her own will, leaving us, without the slightest warning. And then Mr. Spinola’s crew made a find that can only be described as serendipitous. The area involved, Tomb VIII, was the largest family burial chamber that had been unearthed, and it had already yielded six marble sarcophagi. The tombs emerged slowly as the dirt was scaled down centimeter by centimeter, revealing spectacular sculpted designs. One bore a fine relief of the Calydonian boar hunt, peopled with Greek heroes. Another, the sarcophagus of a noblewoman, was decorated with an unfinished portrait framed by winged victories; below her, two cupids rowed a boat between Tellus, goddess of the Earth, and Okeanos, god of the sea. However, the groups attention was now focused on the last tomb that had come to light, an oval sarcophagus whose lid was decorated with leaping dolphins.

The inscription told them that the sarcophagus held the remains of a young Roman knight who had died at the age of seventeen. As the team sifted through the dirt, and uncovered the rest of the sarcophagus with small trowels and brushes, two figures emerged on the other end. One was a bearded philosopher, not unusual of Roman tombs. The other was a woman who held her hands up in a pose of prayer. An evil spirit that had been haunting Tomb VIII since it was unearthed. For centuries church leaders have argued about the importance of what comes out of the ground in Rome and how much should be preserved, enshrined or ignored. The ghost had only grown stronger and meaner, and had actually caused the death of a mortal dearest to Mr. Quinn—his great Aunt Queen, age of eight-five, by causing the beautiful lady to fall. I had needed Merrick Mayfair to exorcise this evil spirit forever. Just before Christmas the tomb of the Price of the Apostles had been found. The actual relics of Saint Peter, and despite the discovery of human bones, it is impossible to prove with certainty that they belong to the apostle.

Goblin was the name of the ghost haunting Tomb VIII, and as Merrick Mayfair had been both a scholar and sorceress before she sought out the Dark Blood, I figured she would have the strength required to get rid of him. Well, she came, and she solved the riddle of Goblin, and, building a high altar of coal and wood which she set ablaze, she not only burnt the evil one but went into the flames with it. The spirit was gone, and so was Merrick Mayfair. Of course I tried to snatch her back from the fire, but her soul had taken flight, and no amount of my blood poured on her burnt remains could conceivably revive her. It did seem to me as I walked back, back, back and forth, kicking at the graveyard dust, that immortals who think they want the Dark Blood perish infinitely more easily than those of us who never asked for it. Perhaps the anger of the rape carries us through for centuries. Overseeing it all was Monsignor Ludwig Kaas, a German who was serving as the administrator of Saint Peter’s Basilica. Several feet beneath the modern basilica lay the floor of the original level as a staging area. Keep your soul steadfastly related to God. There must be the agonizing grip of God’s hand on you.

Supreme Emblem of Divine Sacrifice and Unfathomable Love

It takes thousands of years to understand the Crucified Christ. Many people wonder why did he come down to live thirty-three years? Why not twenty? Why not twenty-five? You could ponder this stuff forever. Why did Christ have to start as a baby? Who wants to be a baby? Was being a baby part of our salvation? And why choose that particular time in history? And Such a place. Dirt, grit, sand, rocks everywhere—I have never seen so many rocks as in the Holy Land—bare feet, sandals, camels; imagine those times. No wonder they used to stone people! Did it have anything to do with the sheer simplicity of the clothes and hair. Christ coming in the era? I think it did. Furthermore, I think Christ chose Crucifixion because hence forth in every depiction He would be seen extending His arms in the loving embrace. Once you see the Crucifix in that manner, everything changes. You see Him reaching out to all the World. He knew it has to be abstractable. He knew it had to be reproducible. It is no accident that we can take the image of this ghastly death and wear it around our necks on a chain. #RyanPhillippe 1 of 13

God thinks of all these things, does He not? We should not conclude that a man who strives earnestly for success does so with a strong sense of his own merit. He may see how little success has to do with merit, and his motive may be his very humility. His deep selflessness, his profound spirituality, come not only for his complete love of Christ but from all his life lived under the essence of a vaunting spiritual code. In Jerusalem, two sons of Alexander Jannaeus, the second king of Judaea from 103 Before Christ to 76 Before Christ, were contending for the kingship. One of them invited the Romans in to assist him in his cause—and that was that, 63 Before Christ. Now it is of the very greatest interest to remark the sense that seems to have prevailed throughout that period, among the Jewish of many persuasions, of the imminent end of the World. The nations were to be annihilated. Even of Israel only a remnant would survive. And it was in this atmosphere of immediate urgency that Christianity came to birth. #RyanPhillippe 2 of 13

The prophet John the Baptist, baptizing only a few miles up the Jordan river from the Dead Sea Covenanters, was also waiting, preparing the way, and to him it was that Christ came; who thereafter fasted for forty days in the desert and returned to deliver his own version of the general apocalyptic message. And so what, then, is the outstanding message between the message of Christ and that of the nearby Covenanters of Qumran? It would seem to me to be this: that the Covenanters were thinking of themselves as about to engage in battle as the Sons of Light with the Sons of Darkness, their posture, that is to say, being of preparation for war, whereas the gospel of Christ was, rather, of the battle already resolved. You have heard that it was reported that you shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy. However, I saw to you, love your enemies and pray for those that persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in Heaven; for he makes his Sun to rise on the evil and on the good and sends rain on the just and unjust (Matthew 5:43-45). And exactly this, I would say, is the difference between a gospel of war and one of peace. #RyanPhillippe 3 of 13

However, we come a little later to those startling words of Matthew 10: Do not think that I have come to bring peace on Earth; I have not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; a man’s foes will be those of his own household. He who loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; and he who loves son or daughter more than me is not worth. And again in Luke 14 we encounter another echo of the same: If anyone comes to me and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, even his own life, he cannot be my disciple. Well, I will tell you what you do. You go out of here, you just take a good look around where you live. Look at not only how you live, but look at how anybody that you know lives—that way, you will be sure that you are not just a bad-luck accident. #RyanPhillippe 4 of 13

The key to the meaning of all of this, I believe, is in the last line here cited, and in the words immediately following each of our sources. In Matthew: He who does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for my sake will find it. And in Luke: Whoever does not bear his own cross and come after me, cannot be my disciple Still further, returning to Matthew (19:21): Go sell what you possess and give to the poor; and come, follow me. And again: Follow me, and let the dead bury their dead (8:22). The ideal of this teaching is of an ascetic absolute abandonment of all the concerns of normal secular life, family ties, community and all, leaving “the dead” –i.e. those that we call living—“to bury their dead”; and in this of the earliest Christian teaching is seen to have been the order of the early Buddhist and of Jain. It is a “forest teaching.” And what it does to the general apocalyptic theme is to transform its reference radically from a historical future to a psychological present: the end of the World and coming Day of God, that is to say, are not to be awaited in the field of time, but to be achieved right now in solitude, in the chamber of the heart. #RyanPhillippe 5 of 13

When will the kingdom come? It will not come by expectation they will not say: See here, or see there. However, the Kingdom of the Father is spread upon the Earth and men do not see it. Moreover, that the allusion of Christ’s reference to the sword which he had brought cannot possibly have been to any weapon of physical warfare appears clearly in the scene of his arrest in the Garden of Gethsemane. Judas came, and with him a great crowd with swords and clubs, from the chief priest and the elders of the people. And the betrayer had given them a sign, saying: The one I shall kiss is the man; seize him. And he came up to Christ at once and said: Hail Rabbi! And he kisses him. Christ said to him: Friend, do that for which you have come! Then they came up and laid hands on Christ and seized him. And behold, one of those who were with Jesus stretched out his hand and drew his sword, and struck the slave of the high priest and cut off his eat. Clearly enough! Is it not? And yet that stout wielder of sword, who is identified in John Gospel (18:10) as Peter, was not the last of Christ’s followers to betray as surely as ever Judas did their teacher and his teaching. From the period of the victories of Constantine, fourth century After Death, the Church founded on the rock of that same good Peter’s name was advanced very largely by swordsmandship. And at the height of the Middle Ages, under the mighty Pope Innocent III (1198 – 1216) deprivation and self-denial are intertwined in history like the double helix. It is no wonder that he could not yield his deep-rooted suspicious of the tumultuous voices of the prosperous capitalist countries. He simply could not grasp the pure charity that could arise from abundance, the sublime immensity of vision possible from the vantage point of secure excess, the selflessness and sweeping sacrificial ambition that can be born when all needs are luxuriantly met. Softly I talked to him. I began to elucidate these points. (Yeah, I know, he is the Pope, and I am an upir wiring this story; but in this story I am a great Saint. I cannot be intimidated with the risks of my own work!) #RyanPhillippe 7 of 13

Peter’s zealous weapon attained to a blazing climax in the crackling fires of the Albigensian Crusade—where the people going up in flames were the heretic Cathari, the self-styled Pure Ones, who had explicitly rejected the sword for the lives of ascetic purity in peace. Our biggest mistake Worldwide is our insistence on perceiving every new development as culmination or a climax. The great “at least” or “inth degree.” A constitutional fatalism continuously adjusts itself to the ever-changing present. A pervasive alarmism greets every advance. For two thousand years we have been getting “out of hand.” This derives of course from our susceptibility to viewing the “now” as the End Time, an Apocalyptic obsession that had endured since Christ ascended into Heaven. We must stop this! We must perceive that we are at the dawn of a sublime age! Enemies will no longer be conquered. They will be devoured, and transformed. #RyanPhillippe 8 of 13

An ascetic renunciation of the World and its life—and even of the will to survive in life—may be named, then, as the best-known discipline of peace that has be proposed, as yet, to mandkind. And if one may judge from the historic circumstances of its original pronouncement, it arose—or at least caught on—as a response to a desperate general sense of things falling apart. The earlier mythic notion had been of a great war, a holy terminal war, through which a universal reign of peace should ultimately be established at the end of historic time: which, however, was not properly a mythology of peace but a summons, rather, to war, perpetual was—until. And, ironically, no sooner had the ascetic Christian message passed from the lips of Christ to the ears of his closet followers than it became transformed into) and has remained ever since interpreted as) only another such doctrine of the Holy War, jihad, or crusade. However, here is the point I really want to make: Modernism and Materialism—elements that the Church has feared for so long—are in their philosophical and practical infancy! Never mind the infantile blunders! The electronic revolution has transmuted the industrial World beyond all predictive thing of the twenty-first century. We are still having birth pangs. Get into it! Work with it! Play it out. Daily life for millions in the developed countries is not only comfortable but a compilation of wonders that borders on the miraculous. And so new spiritual desires arise which are infinitely more courageous than the missionary goals of the past. We must bear witness that political atheism has failed totally. Communications will annihilate hatred and divisiveness as Internet cafes continue to spring up like flowers through Asia and Africa. Underrepresented groups in Europe and America will be thoroughly and fruitfully assimilated through computer literacy. Medical science will find cheap harmless substitutes for cocaine and heroin thereby elimination of the evil drug trade altogether. All violence will soon give way to refinement of debate and exchange of knowledge. I walked outside a private exit of the mansion and from the belvedere on the north side caught the sunlit panorama of Rome. Tears have not been in my eyes since I was a young boy, but I cannot help this when I feel the responsibility I have to help you comprehend, for the first time, what this metaphysical space has do to us. I do not want to be evil anymore. You must understand what I suffer. It is only fair. And I am so good at being bad, of course, the old slogan. If I have not put “Hit ‘em with the Ryan,” on a T-shirt, I am going to. Actually, I really do not want to write only on T-shirts. In reality, I would like to write entire novels on T-shirts so you guys could say, “I am wearing chapter seven of Ryan Phillippe’s new book, that is my favorite; oh, I see, you are wearing chapter six–.” I have been hiding from many of you like Superman dodging into the all-American phone booth, voila! Brothers and sisters here for the first time, please do not let that shock you. I know you did not expect this because almost none of you humans have thought that maybe you were making a mistake not wondering if there was not a special religion somewhere for you—a special religion for all the humans. Well, there is such a religion. However, I am going to tell you about that later. First, we need to understand somethings about this Christianity before we can understand my answer. The Holy Spirit’s influence and power were at work before the Pentecost. The Pentecost is a Christian holy day commemorating the descent of the Holy Ghost upon the disciples of Jesus Christ, it is known as White Sunday. Christians see Pentecost as an expansion of God’s favor and care from Judaism to all peoples. Many churches celebrate Pentecost with a mass or worship on service on this day. Once our Lord was glorified in His ascension, the Holy Spirit came into the World, and he has been where ever since. We have to receive the revealed truth that He is here. When we receive the Holy Spirit, we receive reviving life from our ascended Lord. In 1861, American astronomer Daniel Kirkwood suggested the Pentecost as the explanation for the origin of meteor showers. A few witnesses reported that the meteors of the Pentecost “fell as thick as snowflakes.” In Boston, a number of meteors equivalent to half the number of snowflakes in a storm was estimated. A slightly less poetic and more quantitative estimate spoke of something like 240,000 meteors during the incredible nine hours of the Pentecost continued, essentially the entire night. In New York, a rate of 10,000 falls per hour was estimated, with some meteors of the Pentecost as bright as the full Moon. Historian R.M. Devens declared the Pentecost storm of 1833 one of the most memorable events in the entire history of the United States. A number of scientist, including Denison Olmsted, professor of physics at Yale University, observed the phenomenon as well. Such observations confirmed von Humboldt’s impression that the meteors all came from the same point in the sky, in the constellation Leo and named the Pentecost Leonids. Two millennia earlier the Vatican hill was a wild place, with steep overgrown ravines and clay like soil that discouraged building. It lay outside the city gates, and two roads ran around it: the Via Cornelia on the south and the via Triumphalis on the north. The ancient Roman government had allowed tombs to be built next to both roads, and the cemetery near the Via Cornelia became famous as the supposed burial place of Saint Peter. Archaeologist of later centuries would have their doubts, but the Emperor Constantine pretty well settled the question when he built the first basilica over an area that was venerated as Saint Peter’s grave. With no such illustrious tomb of its own, the Via Triumphalis cemetery had been forgotten and had come to light only piecemeal, beginning in the sixteenth century, when footings were sunk for the northernmost wing of the Vatican palaces. Then, in 1930, below the Fountain of the Galea, more tombs were uncovered but quickly buried again beneath a modern warehouse building. An archeologist had managed to excavate an additional small section near the fountain in the 1990s, revealing tombs that dated back to the Roman Empire and its first Emperor Augustus, ruling from 27 Before Christ to After Death 14. #RyanPhillippe 8 of 12
Many development projects were held hostage to relics of the past. The most important finds, however, were made in the 1950s during excavation for the Vatican’s first underground parking lot. A small section of the graveyard was preserved, hinting at much more than that still lay belowground to the north—precisely the territory that Technical serviced had earmarked for the new parking facility. The engineers had promised to call the archaeology office if they discovered anything interesting. That was a polite way of saying, “Get lost.” Now, as the archaeologist approached the construction zone, he could see that the area had been thoroughly torn up. The bulldozers were turned off today—which was odd, he thought. He walked through a fence gate and saw Mr. Buranelli and the foreman waiting for him, along with officials from Technical Services. They all looked nervous, and the archeologist Mr. Spinola soon saw why. Lying in a pile, heaped casually to one side, were several Roman funerary markers. Next to them was a marble altar decorated with rams’ heads and birds; one of the rams’ heads had been clipped, and the altar edges bore the fresh scars of a bulldozer’s blade. #RyanPhillippe 9 of 12
His heart sank, in the western corner of the excavation, there were stumps of marble tombstones that has been strewn across the site, scattered by the earthmoving machinery. In the muddy tire tracks he could see small remnants of mosaics and terra-cotta urns. Despite the upheaval, he could make out a vague topography: a ridge that ran up a hill, broadened in areas to accommodate family tombs. At the bottom of the incline was standing water, where everything looked destroyed; higher up, perhaps, they could still salvage something. This was not just a small cluster of graves; it was extensive, probably four thousand or five thousand square feet. In the center were the brick walls of what looked like a columbarium and other small mausoleums, shorn off at an angle by the bulldozers. Mr. Buranelli was arguing with the foreman vowing to halt the work. Mr. Spinola wondered bitterly: “Why did they not stop? Why did the engineers call us?” They had sliced through a city of the dead. The reporting going on around was the bulldozers had unearthed some ancient graves. The hint of scandal was that some of the artifacts might have already been carted off and hidden somewhere in Rome. #RyanPhillippe 10 of 12
It sounded like a case of tomb robbing on a large scale, right under the pope’s window. Where are my remains? I do not have any. My entire body has become relics, scattered all over the World, bits and pieces of dried flesh and bone and hair put into little gold cases called reliquaries, some fragments fitted into the hollowed-out backs of crosses, some in lockets that can be worn on chain around the neck. I can feel all these relics. I can slumber in the awareness of their influences. Like many suspected scenarios involving the Vatican, this one was too clever by half. It did not seem to occur to people that developers inside the Vatican, like developers everywhere, had no interest in stealing old inscriptions and did not really care if a bunch of ancient tombstones ended up in a landfill. I remembered a similar discovery a few years earlier, when the Vatican had decided to allow construction of a five-story underground parking lot on a historic hill near Saint Peter’s Square. Technically that site was outside of Vatican City, but access was through the grounds of a Vatican-owned college. #RyanPhillippe 11 of 12
One evening Slovakian Cardinal Jozef Tomko, who lived at the college, took me to see the excavation hole. It was vast and deep and looked like the entry to hell. I later learned that bulldozers had cut into an ancient Roman villa on the hill, with frescoed paintings of birds, masks, and monsters. Archaeologist speculated that it might have belonged to Agrippina, the mother of the Emperor Caligula. We could see several half-buried sarcophagi and what looked like many other smaller artifacts sticking out of the ground. After much debate authorities decided that the parking facility was too important to sacrifice; the artifacts were cleared out, cataloged and forgotten in the back room of a Rome museum. They had gone from one form of oblivion to another. I adorn myself with my old human personality, you might say, but I am still a great saint, and I am totally geared for an apparition. And where do I go? Where do you think? Vatican City is dead quiet, the smallest kingdom on Earth. I go down the stairs to the Sistine Chapel. It is empty and dark, of course. It is chilly too. However, never fear, my saintly eyes are as good as my upir eyes. By the way, the Earthquake in Amatrice RI, Italy, on 25 August 2016, was a magnitude 6.2, killed more than 247 people, sank the city 8 inches and was as power as 20 atomic bombs. Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth; and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thine heart, and in the sight of thine eyes; but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee to judgment. Who ever heard of angry revolutionists swinging their bare feet together with their oppressor in a lily-pad park pools, with gospels and guitars and “I Have a Dream” speeches? And the masses in America were—and still are—having a nightmare. The very fact that millions of Americans believed in all of these radical and monumental farce is another example of how much this country goes in for the surface glossing over, the escape ruse, surfaces, instead of truly dealing with its deep-rooted problems. All these protest do is lull Americans for a while, but police get hurt, property gets destroyed, and others get killed, it is really not a solution. They protest are more counterproductive and embarrassing than anything else, and it makes Americans look like they are unwise and setting a bad example in the global perspective. Tribes in Africa has more civilized way of dealing with disputes, and many of them are still living in huts. #RyanPhillippe 1 of 6
Inevitably, the masses are going to start realizing they have been smoothly hoaxed smoothly hoaxed again by some deviant capitalists. And inevitably, the American’s anger will rekindle, deeper than ever, and it will begin to burst out in different cities, in the “long, hot, summer” of 2016, unprecedented racial crises. I believe a better way to protest is by being well-behaved, showing respect, eloquently explaining why you are upset, writing letters to official that are non-violent and explain why you are upset, but also tell them what you are thankful for. You know be sure to tell people what is exhilarating and also further your own education. And I know that technology is creating a lot of problems, and many people are sick of it. It is too expensive for people to buy computers and spend $80.00 a month for WiFi when they cannot even afford to buy groceries. Technology is advancing so rapidly, but many people cannot afford to buy these new gadgets and electronics and they may not want to. Even when it comes to cars, so much is computerized that they malfunction and do strange things that throws the driver off, and could lead to accidents. I like the electronics in cars, but with the power windows, like in the BMW 325e 1985, which is the best BMW ever made; I wish new cars also had the option to manually role the windows up, along with the electronic option together. Yes, the BMW used to come with both options in the same car. Also, people do not feel comfortable with all of their information being stored on computers, where people can hack into, and why is it that the Federal Bureau of Investigation has to obey the law and follow protocol, but many reporters hack, stalk, and spy on people like it is their God given right? And do not get me wrong, I love reporters, but there is a faction of them that needs to be punished. #RyanPhillippe 3 of 6
Conversely, without reporters, we would not hear about these stories of how a journalist called Nicole Comstock helped a couple get their engagement ring replaced after a six-year battle with the manufacturer. That was a sweet story because there was a beautiful resolution and it shows you the power and the good that reporters can and will do to help people find justice. As you know, losing a symbol of love can cause some people to become depressed and it could even ruin a relationship by causing discord with the couple. So it is nice to hear when good things happen. If anything is a mystery to you and is coming between you and God, never look for the explanation in your mind, but look for it in your spirit, your true inner nature—that is where the problem is. Once your inner spiritual nature is willing to submit to the life of Christ, your understanding will be perfectly clear, and you will come to the place where there is no distance between the Father and you, His child, because the Lord has made you one. #RyanPhillippe 4 of 6
