The Interior Castle—Experience of the Dark Night of the Soul

Let me not mar that perfect dream by an auroral stain, but so adjust my daily night that will come again. One blessing had I, than the rest so larger to my eyes that I stopped gauging, satisfied, for this enchanted size. It was the limit of my dream, the focus of my prayer—a perfect, paralyzing bliss contented as despair. I knew no more of want nor cold, phantasms both become, for this new value in the soul, supremest Earthly sum. The Heaven below the Heaven above obscured with ruddier hue. Life’s latitude leant over-full; the judgment perished, too. Why joys so scantily disaburse, why Paradise defer, why floods are served to us in blows—I speculate no more. Humans are the same substance of God, every individual is capable of becoming divine. When this divinization is achieved, a person can no longer sin, for God is sinless. Thus, whatever one does, it would not be a sin. Commandments and conventional test of morality can no longer apply, and mysticism is therefore interpreted as justifying antinomianism (there are no binding moral laws, everything is relative). (Thus, it is not surprising that God is beyond good.)  The experience of the dark night of the soul is a periods of great despair in which one feels deserted by God. Moral sense functions only in the exceptional conditions of a crisis, and it is only in the painful functioning of that moral sense that one finds the gratification of one’s particular pleasure. I can feel compassion as well as guilt and I fear that someday I too may need the same pity other notable figures are imploring. It feels as if compassion being evoked for the evil villain in a somewhat Christian way. My poor soul is wrought of this misery is the saddest case of all. Not really distinguished feelings of love, but one can sense his emotions, as if my own purity will be defouled if I cross the border, and the scar I bare is often referred to as the mark of the beast. The holy water in my body sears and burns, for the stain is a sign of the evil infection that was caused by you expanding your circle of power and influence by using me as an innocent person to accomplish your aims.

However, I feel more attractive and radiant than ever. The World acceptance expressed in the struggle for power. Since God cannot sin, neither can divinized men or women, however wrong their action may look from the standpoint of conventional morality. This means the purgation sent by God and the experience probably reflects the contrast between the bliss of union and the condition of striving for that bliss. You guessed from the way the sentence toiled, you could hear the bodice tug, behind you, as if it held but the might of a child; you almost pitied it, you, it worked so the attempt to repress the feeling of bliss accruing on the attainment of higher states of consciousness, in order to obviate the depression liable to occur upon their cessation. For it would split my heart. Father, I bring thee not myself—that were the little load; I bring thee the imperial heart I had not strength to hold. The heart I cherished in my own till mine too heavy grew, yet strangest, heavier since it went, is it too large for you?  Withdrawing from politics has been a blessing that has allowed me to harness self-mortification to the task of concentrating solely upon God. My service is to my inner life and the repetition of prayers enjoined allow me to focus my faith and remembrance of God. A Heaven of Heaven the privilege of one another’s eyes is a means towards inner illumination. Fear and obedience of God melted into a burning interior love of him that carried with it the hope that union with him might be gained through the negation of self. This interior knowledge is described in terms of light, and the so-called Light Verse: God is the light of the Heavens and of the Earth; His light is like a niche wherein there is a lamp, a lamp encased in glass, the glass as it were a glistening star. There is now a unifying vision, a sense that somehow all things are one and share a holy, divine, and single life, or that one’s individual being merges into a Universal Self, to be identified with God or the mystical one. Mystical experience involves the intense joyous realization of oneness with, or in, the divine, the sense that this divine One is comprehensive, all-embracing, in its being.

The soul as a longing to return to God, as there is still a sense of overwhelming beatitude, of salvation, or of lost or transcended individuality. Some mystical experience occurs only at the end of a lengthy, arduous religious discipline, an ascetic path; others occur spontaneously (like much nature-mystical experience); since a mystical experience is discovery, a realization, of what is eternally true, union with God is unusually fresh, innocent, and aesthetically intense awareness of the created World and its beauty. It is only the initiative, the grace of God that bestows it. We might be familiar with the idea of God being above. Our concepts fail to grasp him precisely for this reason is this is our belief. Above being carries echoes of above the turmoil, above suspicion, above praise, with above indicating distance from and superiority to something. However, to be above, one must first of all be—and continue to be. Because God is superior, he is everywhere. Mystics of different periods and different parts of the World may express different experiences. A dream under nitrous oxide may strike the dreamer with the force of a satanic revelation, but on awakening and correlating the nightmare with the shock of an injury, one may have little temptation to judge the experience as a genuine disclosure. The feeling of revealedness can attach itself with equal intensity to incompatible contents. It was just a feeling of unreality. In the first place, the mystical experience is a vision of the World that is free, to a very usual extent, from the interposition of concepts. Normal perception is closely linked to practical projects; we see the World in terms of our needs and desires and our intention to manipulate it in various was. The entire knowable Universe is composed of natural objects—that is, objects which come into and pass out of existence in consequence of the operation of natural causes. Never worry about whether what you say sounds humble before others or not. However, be always humble before God and allow Him to be your all in all.

And if you Believe in me Do Not think My Love is Not Real

To the hands I cannot see, for the love of America, judge me tenderly. Through austerity and self-control, one can attain a realization of one’s eternal self. Inner mystical knowledge brings a union with the Divine. God and the Devils do not dwell in mythical Heaven or Hell, but in our daily actions. Mysticism was practiced in the second millennium B.C. or earlier, and it is considered a ritual religion, which is surrounded by the idea that knowledge gives one a quasi-magical power over aspects of reality and allows on to identify with things in a whole new way. Mysticism centers on the pacifying of the mind and of attaining interior insight, it is an awe-inspiring and fascinating mystery. It is a timeless experience, that involved an apprehension of the transcendent (of something, state, or person lying beyond the realm of things), that gives an individual serenity, and normally accrues upon a course of self-mastery and contemplation. One gains a kind of rapport with the World or panenhenic feeling. Various abnormal mental states, such as those induced by mescalin, lysergic acid, and alcohol are sometimes considered mystical, but they are far enough removed from mainstream mysticism for it to be reasonable to neglect them here.

Mystical consciousness is also said to be like a state beyond dreamless sleep, it goes beyond ordinary perceptions, mental images, and thoughts. It is thus not describable by the ordinary expressions for mental states.  Also, such paranormal phenomena as levitation are sometimes ascribed to mystics, although they are usually regarded as a secondary significance.  An infinity of eternal life or souls brings about an isolation of the soul from the material environment, and it is a final deliverance from suffering. Mysticism is supposed to allows one to develop a Heavenly eye, which enables him to view the entire World and attain supreme insight and supreme peace. The achievement of inner harmony and insight where your body is fresh; you are vigorous and fit, and things are so bright, so pure, it is the highest, the eternal place. The eternal place is, of course, Nirvana. It is totally opposite of the use of complex psychological categories in explaining human nature. The experience involves both the attainment of a marvelous serenity as knowledge and ignorance is dispelled. These terms served bring out the ineffability and undifferentiated nature of ultimate reality, which in turn correspond to the undifferentiated and void nature of the contemplative experience itself.

Of course, the adoration and love of God, leads to a different valuation of mysticism. One need not be blind to the World if they are performed in a spirit of self-surrender to God; they way of works should be seen in the light of the way of devotion. Mystical experience is the duality of the soul and God implicit with the worshiper having a strong sense of the majesty and glory of God. Their virtues are wisdom and knowledge, courage, humanity, justice, temperance, and transcendence. Different strengths contribute to each virtue. The virtue of humanity and mysticism include the strengths bravery, persistence, integrity, and vitality. Doing the right the at greater risk or cost to oneself strikes us as more heroic than doing good in a way that benefits oneself. People will accomplish greater things because of their feelings toward others and will succeed each time through hope, faith, loyalty, and compassion. Empathy plays an important role in altruistic behavior. Some believe mysticism is part of the essence of life and through one’s intellect, one has an affinity with God; and though the contemplative life, one can in principle attain a state where one can see God’s essence, and will give people ever fresh chances of living the pure life and would provide the punishment for those who transgressed.

Adam was a Universal being who before the Fall embraced the Universe, then in an ideal state. With his fall, the material World was created, and the light of his divine nature was fragmented into the sparks that illuminate the myriads of livings soul. In the final consummation, all will be reunited. Asceticism is concerned with the devotion in all one’s acts—were the means of purifying the soul. Social conditions may have helped the growth of such doctrines, for the emphasis on meekness, love, and a quiet interior life were well adapted to the unhappy outer circumstances of the people, and mysticism hope gave the contemplative a cosmic role. Through righteous acts the favor of God is channeled. That I always did love, I bring thee proof: that till I loved I did not love enough. That I shall love always, I offer thee that love is life, and life hath immortality. This, dost thou doubt, sweet? Then have I nothing to show but calvary. He fumbles at your spirit as players at the keys before they drop full music on; he stuns you by degrees, prepares your brittle substance for the ethereal blow, by fainter hammers, further heard, then nearer, then so slow.

Your breath has time to straighten, your brain to bubble cool—deals one imperial thunderbolt that scalps your naked soul. Mysticism became the pattern after which eternal life was conceived. Humans are considered the connecting link between the visible and invisible Worlds. One was created perfect but through the Fall lost his immortal, incorruptible, and passionless nature. A certain cope for free will remained, however. This image of God, although defaces, was not entirely lost. The restoration of man to the true end for which he was made—the contemplation of God—was effected through Christ’s incretion. Mysticism takes place through the illumination of the soul; its divinization, through the Divine Light. O Lord Jesus, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner. In a mysterious manner, the very repetition of the sacred name of Jesus was supposed to contain Divine power. The soul and God remain distinct in substance, although they are joined by the glue of love. Through man’s love flowing up to God and through the downward movement of God’s grace, the two become united. This mysticism is combined with intense powers and one can gain continuing union with God through love. This love is nourished by concentrating upon God, to the exclusion of mutable things.

Praeter Ordinem Communiter Observatum in Rebus

ghbjnkml, If you are going to save the day and you are hearing what I say, and if you do not believe in me, do not thing my love if for free, I will not take nothing less, but a deeper love. We all need a miracle every now and then. A miracle is something which would never happen had nature, as it were, been left to its own devices. This idea of overriding is essential; however, it is certainly subject to various variation and additions. Only a true miracle can be worked by God or by his specially deputed agents. Others even build into their very definition of miracle some reference to the purposes for which Authority is supposed to be prepared to consider making such an exception. Certainly, most theist theologians are also at great pains to maintain that a miraculous event could not properly be considered a violation, since it would not really represent any infringement, of the fundamental hierarchical order. It is not against the principle of craftsmanship (contra rationem artificii) if a craftsman effects a change in his product, even after he has given it its first form. There would be no point in trying to show in this way that a miracle must ultimately be no violation of regularity unless it were taken for granted that it apparently is such a violation. #RyanPhillippe 1 of 9

fghjThis point is fundamental, and it needs to be stressed more heavily today that in the past. For in addition to the traditional theist reluctance to ascribe to the Deity anything savoring of unseemly irregularity, it is nowadays usual to encounter a certain shyness about any apparent repudiation of scientifically accepted modes of explanation. Those things that are properly called miracles which are done by divine agency beyond the order commonly observed in nature (praeter ordinem communiter observatum in rebus).  To seize the fundamental point that a miracle is an event which violate the ordinary course of nature is to appreciate that the notion of a miracle is logically parasitical on the idea of an order to which such an event must constitute some sort of exception. This being so, a strong notion of the truly miraculous—a notion involving something more than the notions of the merely marvelous, the significant, or the surprising—can only be generated is there is first an equally strong conception of rule and of exception thus gives concepts of the miraculous an inhere instability. #RyanPhillippe 2 of 9

450px-Elke_Sommer-TAPIt is perhaps relevant to notice how this tension has been felt in the history of idea. Where there is as yet no strong conception of natural order, there is little room for the idea of a genuinely miraculous event as distinct from the phenomenon of a prodigy, of a wonder, or of a divine sign. However, once such a conception of a natural order has taken really firm root, there is a great reluctance to allow that miracles have in fact occurred or even to admit as legitimate a concept of the miraculous. We may summarily reject all miracles, prophecies, narratives of angels and demons, and the like, as simply impossible and irreconcilable with the known and Universal laws which govern the course of events. However, it can be shown that there is an order does it begin to be possible to show that the order is occasionally overridden. The difficulty (perhaps an insoluble one) is to maintain simultaneously both strong rules and the genuine exceptions to. Biblical miracles, including the crucial physical resurrection of Christ bar Joseph, did in fact occur, and that this in turn proved the authenticity of the Christian revelation. #RyanPhillippe 3 of 9

gvhbjnkm,When faced with something which is found to have actually happened, there we have an achievement which nature, left to her own unassisted devices, could never encompass. For instance, in a footnote to section X, of the medical records of a Mlle, physician De Sylva reported: “It was impossible she could have been so ill as was proved by witnesses, because it was impossible she could, in so short, a time, have recovered so perfectly as he found her.” However, the study of abnormal psychology and of psychosomatic medicine has since show miraculous recoveries are perfectly possible. Another instance that established a miracle of Universal eight-day eclipse had occurred in January 1600, then our present philosophers and scientists, instead of doubting the fact, certainly though this was a sign and a violation of nature. Occasionally, I do indeed think about my (still) being alive or my going to be alive at some later time, but my own present or future existence is certainly not the subject matter of all my thoughts, although all my thoughts must occur while I am alive. #RyanPhillippe 4 of 9

Cov7DrkUAAEBQHLI was just thinking about life and how much I want to enjoy myself and am ready to move beyond all the games that people seem to like to play because life is truly short and I want to enjoy my life, I do not want to be stuck in the center of the web of a bunch of people who are evil and have nothing better to do, but try and make one’s life miserable. I am willing to let go of relationships because I do not believe in holding on to anything that is going to cause me nothing, but pain and stress, and I think the fact that I left go really surprises people, but there are over seven billion people in the World and if you do not want to act right and show concern for me, then someone else will. And you have to understand that it is not hard to get over someone who does not treat you right, and while people may still think I am stuck on one person, I am not and I honestly find it annoying that they play games without even knowing where I am in my life. You see, there is this possibility that death means the total disintegration and dissolution of my World. The death of myself is well described phenomenologically by the terms of void or encounter with Nothingness, and that scares me. #RyanPhillippe 5 of 9

ertyuiI keep telling you all that I want to move on, I want to let go, I want to meet someone else. This experience of you all trying to use a romantic relationship to exploit me and constantly making up stories is scary to me. I feel like you people are terrorizing me and it makes me feel how sort life is. And I do not know what to do besides do research until someone exposed the situation, but I want to life my life and focus on my house and career. The confrontation with my own death submerges me into the deepest state of anxiety. When I fully realize what my own death means I seem to myself like a falling body into a dark and infinite abyss. The disappearance of the observer in the thought of one’s own death entails, in a sense, the disappearance of the World itself. If anxiety is not allowed to interfere with honest analysis, and if I think of my death as the end of everything, then, in a manner of speaking, I must think as well of the termination of the Universe itself. Hence, my image of the death of myself is tantamount to asserting the end of the World. #RyanPhillippe 6 of 9

CmWrIPZUEAELKMCIt can hardly be denied that there is some truth in this account. When people think about their deaths they do get pictures of voids, of falling through dark abysses, and the like. To bring home to themselves the utter finality of death, people say things like, “With my death, my World comes to an end.” It is true that in order to think of my death, it is not enough to think of the cessation of my heartbeats or other bodily functions—I must also think of the cessation of my experiences. I watched someone very close to me die right before my eyes, and I had forgotten about that experience, until recently. And it seems like just yesterday, the evil room was dark and there were a lot of strange people around doing strange things, and there was so much darkness in the room, and to see his lifeless body laying there with his eyes wide open…just thinking about it right now makes me tear up, but I shut his eyes for him, and it seems like moments later he was being hauled out of the house in a body bag, and it is an experience I will never forget. Just when I thought no one care, you were the answer to my prayers, you lifted my spirits up, and you know it, that is why I have faith in you. Come on and rescue me. #RyanPhillippe 7 of 9

It must indeed be granted that with my death my World comes to an end; for in this context my World is just a rhetorical way of referring to me or my life. It may also be taken for granted that the end of my life or my World is, in a manner of speaking, the end of everything if the manner of speaking amounts to the qualification that it is the end of everything for me or in my experience. People who envy the young because they have many years ahead of them certainly do not suppose that the World will be annihilated when they die, and the same is unquestionably true of anybody who makes his will. However, I possess to a high degree the Victorian wish to retain a belief in God and exemplified one of the more extreme forms of the Victorian obsession with immortality. There are disembodied spirits, that we ourselves are spirits who can survive bodily death, and that some of us are even now sometimes in touch with the spirit World. The worst fear is the fear of spiritual extinction or spiritual solitude; the true security is in the telepathic law. If there is a spiritual World, we can expect it to manifest itself; if there is a spiritual realm, it is governed by discoverable scientific laws. #RyanPhillippe 8 of 9

The self or personality of which each of us s consciously aware is only a fragment of a much larger self, manifestations of which are hindered but not rendered impossible by our present connection with a physical organism. The religious upshot of observation and experiment is the law of the spirit World as it is of our own World, and the development is continuous from this World to that: as men here grow in holiness, so spirits there grow in love and wisdom. Although there may be something like an inconceivable union with the Divine, the growth in the spiritual realm is endless. The spirits see more of the laws of the spiritual realm then we do; they see enough to know that despite the existence of the evil, Universe is basically good. And because love and joy and wisdom are rooted in the nature of things, evil can be refuted and a sound morality can be established. Mysticism is the immediate feeling of the unity of the self with God. Mysticism is that attitude of mind in which all relations are swallowed up in the relation of the soul to God. Let me tell you, know I need a miracle. It is more than physical what I need to feel from you. I truly believe you are a divine miracle sent to me by God. #RyanPhillippe 9 of 9

Fair Exchange—Gradually I Took in Every Detail

Justice is no respecter of persons; wealth or status will influence only is it makes a difference in judgement only id it makes a difference in law (for example, in taxation cases or the privilege of a Parliament in libel actions). The idea of a law behind the law, the standard of justice to which positive law must confirm, is exemplified in the immutable and unwritten laws of Heaven. Justice is the Universal law of nature, equally accessible to all men through reason, and human law is the local application of natural law, which is itself an expression of God’s rational will guiding the Universe. Even if one could suppose that God did not exist, one would still be bound by the law of nature, since it is derived from two human qualities of sociability and rationality. Our need of society dictates the minimum conditions for social harmony. Natural law thus came to be regarded as a Universal test to the justice of positive law. Justice is the key and consists in treating equals equally and unequals unequally but in proportion to their relevant differences. This involves, first, the idea of impartiality; the honest judge considers only the features of the case that are relevant in law. #RyanPhillippe 1 of 6

Impartiality implies a kind of equality—not that all cases should be treated alike but that the onus rests on whoever would treat them differently to distinguish them in relevant ways. It is not for a judge to decide the respects in which men are equal but to decide whether the respects in which they are unequal are relevant to the issues in the case. That is what is really meant by the right to equal consideration—to be treated alike unless relevant differences have been proven. These principals are not limited, of course, to the law. Many philosophers would regard it as a characteristic of all moral judgments from prudential judgments, in which the agent assumes a position of privilege. The principles of impartiality is closely related. Is there a general duty to act justly? For a judge this is necessarily entailed by his or her functions. We cannot reasonable expect other people to respect our interest unless we are prepared to respect theirs. A man has grounds for complaint if, should you refuse to do something he asks you to do, he can judge that you have made the same request in his place. #RyanPhillippe 2 of  6

Would it follow, however, that a state powerful enough to get its way against all other states would have no obligation to deal justly with them? The very fact of consciousness implies at least the possibility of someone besides oneself who could be a subject of claims. To recognize the existence of another person would therefore be to acknowledge the initial equality or parity of two subjects standing toward each other in this reciprocal experience relationship. It is doubtful, however, one is entitled to infer from consciousness of another person’s existence a duty to respect the other individual’s interests. Moral reciprocity—doing on to others as one would have then do to oneself and giving them equal return from benefits received—is closely linked to impartiality, for to be impartial between oneself and someone else would mean doing nothing to profit as his expense.  From this follows communitive justice which entails ideas such as a fair wage, a just price, and a fair exchange, as opposed to exploitation and profiteering. #RyanPhillippe 3 of 6

For instance, how can one evaluate domestic service without taking for granted a wage structure in which types of work are roughly graded according to accepted standards like skill and responsibility? And for any individual worker the just wage is necessarily related to the idea of the wage for the job. “Got your heart set on me going first, and that is not a fair exchange. And if it is worthy it baby, I will return the favor and give back to you. A fair exchange, on everything, let me tell you that is the way it has got to be. Open your eyes baby, recognize a player give it up to me. A fair exchange, you know the game, we can do the damn thang. And if you are willing, then we can ride until the Sun Shines. Even though you do not deserve it because you walk around acting like you are perfect. Took a while, but I finally got it, and like a boss player, bitch you did not do me no favors, fair exchange,” reports 2pac. Justice considered as reciprocity is often held to require returning evil for evil as much as good for good (lex talionis).  In this case, punishment would be paying back what is due. #RyanPhillippe 4 of 6

The natural impulse to retaliate is moralized as a sentiment of justice by confirming it to those cases when the injury is so society at large and whether retaliate justice has a useful deterrent function. However, although the duty of reciprocity may spring from our recognition of other men, just as much as ourselves, as persons with interest and claims deserving of respect, we cannot infer from that a duty to attack their interests whenever they attack either our own or even those of society at large. The principle that a man ought not to be punished for doing what he cannot help creates difficulties when extended to actions which a man could not help doing because of his own state of mind instead of external or contingent factors, like duress or ignorance of fact. An insane man, as is defined as one who did not know what he was doing wrong, cannot be said to choose his act because he cannot know it for what it is. However, sometimes a man may know that what he is doing is wrong yet still be unable to stop himself from doing it. He may be subject, for instance, to an irresistible temptation or provocation. #RyanPhillippe 5 of 6

However, how is that to be understood? A temptation is not irresistible merely because a particular man has yielded to it or even because he might have been expected to yield to it. Nonetheless, a temptation may be so strong that we might expect any ordinary person to yield to it (even through a few people may in fact resist it), or, as one might say, it might be more than human nature can stand. In that sense it may be irresistible. Gradually, I took in every detail. “And then I laugh as we lay back. See I waited until you asleep and that is the pay back. Because you acting like you did something, giving me a piece (of mutton) I had you muffling your screams in the sheets, expletive with me. A true digger that love triggers, a thug expletive. Hustlin’ bitches like drug dealers, before I say goodbye, put an end to all the games. Here is my number for another fair exchange,” reports 2Pac. Some people, of course, find it much more difficult than others to resist temptation. The concept of responsibility requires that human behavior be causally accountable. If you left nothing of that nature behind them, it is impossible [that] he can, upon their account, become the object of punishment or vengeance. #RyanPhillippe 6 of 6

ghbjnkml,

Nature, Man, God and Negative Capability

Very few beings really seek knowledge in this World. Mortal or immortal, few really ask. None of us really changes over time, we only become more fully what we are. The prince is never going to come, everyone knows that, and maybe sleeping beauty is dead. We know that the brain is not immortal, and that the organized energy of a living body, becomes incorporeal when it is disembodied. The difficulty is to attach enough sense to the expression so that some discovery about disembodied people could provide us with grounds for believing we survive death. In their present senses persons words have logical liaisons of the very great human importance. Personal identity in the present sense is the necessary condition of both accountability and expectation. This is only to report that it is unjust to reward or punish someone for something unless, as a minimum condition, one is the same person who did the deed and that it is absurd to expect things to happen to me in 1984, as a minimum condition, there is going to be a person in existence in 1984 who will be the same person as I am.  The difficulty is to change the use of persons words so radically that it becomes significant to talk of people’s surviving dissolution without changing it in such a way that these crucial logical liaisons must be broke. If this difficulty cannot be overcome—and there seems to be little reason to think that it can—then the apocalyptic words that our life is endless as the visual field is without limit. Death is not an event in life. Death is not lived through. However, the soul carries with it experiences and knowledge. His memory stretches to a time before he knew humans, perhaps, two thousand years ago. He was born on an island of perpetual warmth, a kind of Garden of Eden where life went on in innocence and crimes were rare. There was a great cataclysm, and they came to Britain and broke up into their individual families. They adapted their initial cultural practices to the changed circumstances of four seasons. Their disdain for, and indifference (not cruel) treatment of, human is also noticeable. It is mostly due to the social and cultural differences. One of the questions that Christian theologians have repeatedly discusses is whether there is both general and special revelation.

Are nature and history as a whole—including the whole religious history of mankind—revelatory of God, as well as the special occasions of the Bible Heilsgeschichte? Many theologians of all communions today hold that God is indeed Universally active and that his activity always discloses something of his nature, even though his fullest personal self-revelation has occurred only in the person of Christ. It touches on the meaning of human power and its corrupting influence and their contact with humans. “They stole our women and raped them until they died of the bleeding. They stole our men and sought to enslave them, and laughed at them and ridiculed them, and in some instances drove them mad. Often we fought them off. We were not by nature as brutal, by any means, but we could defend ourselves, and great circles were concened to discuss their metal weapons and how we might make our own. Indeed, we imprisoned a number of human beings, invaders all, to try to pry the knowledge from them. And the men have deep, inveterate hatred of our softness. They called us ‘the fools of the circle’ or ‘the simple people of the stones.’” The locus of revelation is not propositions but events, and its content is not a body of truths about God but “the living God” revealing himself and history with humans. The nonpropositional view thus centers upon what has come in recent theology to be known as Heilsgeschichte (“salvation history”) identified as the medium of revelation. It Is not supposed that God has marked his presence by performing a series of miracles, if “miracle” is taken to mean an event that compels a religious response by eluding all natural explanations. It is not characteristic of those theologians who think of revelation in nonpropositional terms to regard the Bible miracles as constituting theistic proofs. Rather, the Heilsgeschichte is the way in which a certain segment of human history—beginning with the origins of the national life of Israel and ending with the birth of the Christian community as a response to Christ—was experienced by men of faith and became understood and remembered as the story of God’s gracious dealings with his people.

What Christianity (and, confining itself to the Old Testament, Judaism) refer to as the story of salvation is a particular stream of history that was interpreted by prophets and apostles in the light of a profound and consistent ethical monotheism. They saw God at work around them in events that accordingly possessed revelatory significance.  God continues his story and describes the slaughter of his people while they were celebrating a great religious festival. On their flight to escape the human, they find it necessary to resort to laughter to rescue their fellow angles or to protect themselves. However, he draws the parallel with other tribes throughout history who underestimate the blood lust of their conquerors and so list out to them in many other ways they were their superiors. The role of Christianity as a corrupting influence becomes publicly observable in the series of events forming its basis belonging to the secular World of history and is capable of a variety of political, economic, psychological, and other analyses besides that of a theistic faith. Humans have a blood lust. Humans sacrifice and blood lust are the root of human religion. Even as many of you are attracted to the teaching of the gentle Christ, these teachings stressing Christ’s gentleness lose their meaning, as they become the basis for even greater slaughter and lust for money. The virtual annihilation of the angels results from their division into Christian and pagan groups. Adam is forced to watch as his own wife Eve is forced to abandon the antiquated ways.  Revelation refers to the completed communication that occurs when God’s approach has met with a human response. Good negotiators appreciate the role of ambivalence and can resist drawing conclusions from contradictory information. People saw more patterns in obscure pictures, even where to patterns existed, and expressed their beliefs more fervently. Christ is the divine Son incarnate in a human life, seeking to draw humans into a new life in relation to God. “Gentle beings, out of time, out of place, and maybe out of luck. And of such tragic import to his fledgling and her human kindred.

I, having spent two centuries in the Blood, should possess a wisdom and restraint that makes such a request unnecessary, but alas, within my heart I feed a human flame that it may never completely go out, and it is the heat of this flame which distracts me now and renders me so powerless in your presence.” Recall in the Bible that angels were mating with humans and also eating them and that God flooded the World to destroy him because he saw his Earthly creation, human, which he had cherished and loved so much had a blood lust and provoked the angels to attack and feed on them, which is probably why Lucifer was so jealous and upset that God loved these worthless, lustful, evil beings so much. There is certainly an event and appreciation; and in the coincidence of these revelations consists of. However, the discernment are interpretations in which men are convinced that they are conscious of God at work in and through certain events of both their personal experiences and World history. Is there an image of God (imago dei) in man that constitutes an innate capacity to respond to divine revelations or whether, on the contrary, human nature is so totally corrupted by the Fall that in revealing himself to men God has created them in a special capacity for response? Certainly, it is clear that humans have exploited angles. A mere listing of their atrocities is sufficient to make the point. At one time or other ritual slaughter, rape, infanticide, various tortures, and other physical violations. In addition, there are the usual psychological abuses; perpetuation of stereotypes, denigration of their physical and cultural traits, attribution of brutal traits, and various means for devaluing their lives. At once, it struck me, what quality went to form a Man of Achievement especially in Literature and which Shakespeare possessed so enormously—I mean Negative Capability, that is when a man is capable of being in uncertainties, Mysteries, doubts, without any irritable reaching after fact and reason.

For Let Me Tell You, He is Known Everywhere that Men Have Been!

It was a drenching storm inside of me, but I am very strong. The blood tempest that sweeps into its vortex all desire to know, to absorb, to abide, to possess, to kill, to love? That is a given, is it not? And when you love another, you do not strive to hurt. Never. The trivial operations of the heart are burnt away in quietude. Burnt away in humility that I could feel this, know this, and contain it within my prudent soul. Suppose we allow that rewards and penalties are indeed morally necessary; at most, this could support a demand not for immortality but for a temporary survival. Nothing has been said in the premises to explain why these necessary rewards and penalties have to be eternal. They become bound to your soul, not only by blood, but by association and as love as well. Just like a passive vampire draining the blood from someone indirectly in the Castle, these transfusions make use of the idea of the life’s blood. The blood is life and so it is stated in the Christian Bible. Christianity, like many World religions before it, celebrates the blood as a life force. Christ shed His blood that men may drink of it and have eternal life. “Whoever eats my Flesh and drinks my Blood, shall have eternal life; and I will raise one up on the last day,” reports John 6.53. #RandolphHarris 1 of 6

Indeed, to the secular moralist, to whom no revelation has been vouchsafe, it might seem that to provide eternal penalties for temporal offenses would be to make the Universe infinitely worse. However, because knowledge of these truths of the pages in the book of revelations is necessary for human’s salvation, God has supernaturally made them known. Revelation may be defined as the communication of some truth by God to a rational creature through means which are beyond the ordinary course of nature. When revelation is conceived as the divine disclosure of religious truths, faith is necessarily understood as the obedient believing of these truths. Thus faith was defined by the First Vatican Council as a supernatural virtue whereby with the inspiration and help of God’s grace, we believe that what he has revealed is true, not because its intrinsic truth is seen with the natural light of reason, but because of the authority of God who reveals it. The divinely imparted truths are written down in the Bible and thereby made available to all humankind. Indeed, throughout considerable periods of Christian thought the Scriptures have been called the Word of God and have been virtually identified with revelation. #RandolphHarris 2 of 6

The Bible is accordingly thought of as being ultimately of divine authorship; it has been written by human being, Angels, or Nephilim, but in the writing of it, their minds were directed by the Holy Spirit. Thus, the First Vatican Council reported the Scriptures that because they were written as a result of the prompting of the Holy Spirit, they have God as their author. The Bible is written by God through thirty secretaries. Natural theology comprises all those truths about God, and about the created Universe in it relation to God, that can be arrived at by human reasoning without benefit of divine revelation, and it proves the existence of God. Revealed theology, on the other hand, comprises those truths about God, and about the created Universe in its relation to God, that are not accessible to right reasoning as such and that can be known to humans only because God has chosen to reveal them. (For instance, it is held that while the existence of a supreme being is tenet of natural theology, the further fact, states in the Trinitarian doctrine, that this being is three Persons in one belongs to revealed theology.) These various truths constitute the material with which the theologian works, his primary task being to bring them together into a systematic body of doctrine. #RandolphHarris 3 of 6

Early literature reflects man’s belief that blood was more than a metaphor or synecdotal description of life; it was life itself…in both the Old and New Testaments of the Holy Bible, “the blood is life,” reports Deuteronomy 12.16. And the motif is repeated again and again, both as objective statement and psychological truth. However, it is important to note that the Old Testament also cautions, in multiple passages, against the drinking of blood in an obsessive way, which would be seen as evil. All lives have blood, with years of life in it, lives which are procured for one by God. Man has assurance of some kind that he will acquire some higher life. He dreads the consequences—the burden of a soul. Sources of evil are supposed to be repelled by crucifixes, rosaries, the Eucharistic hose, and holy water. And this is why they are displayed in church, as it is known as the house of the Lord, and these symbols are meant to creation reactions in a demon or devil, which makes them unable to prevail against the forces of good. The devil, alien to all conventional familial, social, and sexual patterns, has a terrible strength which threatens a supernatural disruption of what we call morality. #RyanPhillippe 4 of 6

There is almost a Universal desire for immortality or the existence of human potentialities that cannot be realized in a mere three score years and ten. Immortality advocates some idea of a God who may be relied on to arrange for the ultimate fulfillment of (some of?) the desires and (some more of?) the potentialities that he has arranged for us to the. (the qualification “some of” has, presumably, to be put in to allow for the existence of ambivalent and evil desires; the “some more of” is needed is we are to have an argument that even appears to hold.) The best in the human spirit always triumphs over an evil which is typically, if only symbolically, depicted as sexual. Sexuality is seen unthinkable in normal relations between the sexes (genders). This negative view of sexuality is doubtless due in part to the Christian context. Sexuality is seen as evil when it is based on sensuality and pleasure alone. Any pleasure, or any emotions when it is out of control is seen as evil. Evil is out of control is society; it absorbs power and exercises it but does not adhere to any laws of control himself in his pursuit of a “World Class City” and a palace made of diamonds, while people can barely afford rent and food or to pay the people who educate your children. #RandolphHarris 5 of 6

Indeed, his plan is to make everyone buy into his propaganda that a $700 million sports complex, paid for my public money, with an $8 million statue that looks like an oversized gummy bear is more important than you being allowed to vote on the project and the general welfare of the community and allow his evil to spread throughout the population like a plague. However, such unrestrained emotions and carelessness are not without their price for guilt is everywhere and it is deep. The Bible is a source of inspiration, as a medium of revelation; such theologies arise within the community of faith (whether Jewish or Christian) that lives on the basis of what it believes to be an experience of divine revelation. It embodies in its life and literature the memory of momentous events in which God has opened a new and better life to mankind. The form of apologetic appropriate to this view is one that defends the right to the believer, as a rational being, given the distinctively religious experience out of which one’s faith has arisen, to trust that experience and to proceed to live upon the basis of it. “And this is what God promised us—eternal life” reports 1 John 2:25. For let me tell you, he is known everywhere that men have been. #RandolphHarris 6 of 6

Universal Casualty is Consistent with the Concept of Choice and is for Responsibility

Some people cannot believe how atheist, how uncouth many have become. Several people believe that they should do anything that they are slick enough, or bad and bold enough, to and that people are nothing but another commodity. Every word they speak is hip or profane. Their working vocabulary is not two hundred words. (Personally speaking, people are some of the most valuable assets in the World when they are good.) There are members of the human population who live and think like predatory animals, and their consumption of marijuana and other drugs would astound you. The drugs give them a feeling of contentment. They enjoy hours of floating, day dreaming, imaginary conversations with their New York musician friends. And then they come down off of their highs and spend a lot of time sleeping when they are not out hustling day and night. Typically, marijuana is a habit-forming drug that, which may or may not be addictive, and usually leads to the use of other addictive drugs. And it will only take you a little while before you are out on the streets looking to locate a peddler of “snow”—cocaine. It is when people get back into that familiar snow feeling that they began to want to talk. #RyanPhillippe 1 of 6

Cocaine produces, for those who sniff its powdery white crystals, an illusion of supreme well-being, and a soaring overconfidence in both physical and mental ability. You think you could whip heavyweight champions like Danny Garcia and Adonis Stevenson, and that you are smarter than anyone like Bill Gates or Paris Hilton. There is also a feelings of timelessness.  And there are intervals of ability to recall and review things that happened years back with an astonishing clarity. People high on cocaine will bend your ear, you know, talking to you annoyingly and so much to the point that your ear will move back. And people on narcotics like cocaine will give you a hard time, just to keep you in line. They think you need it and want it too. A dope fiend might feel evil and slap you are worse than ever. And when a dope fiend comes down off of cocaine, they will “lay dead,” or inactively, until they feel the need to get high or get some more money. And to pay for their drug habits, they will rob people, steal thinks even out of their own grandmother’s house and sell them on the cheap, they may even try to sale people. Heck, a dope fiend will even still your baby’s crib and sell it. Unfortunately, there are always people who cannot be deterred or reformed. #RyanPhillippe 2 of 6

The punishment must fit the crime; the penalty relates to the general aims of the system, to prevent further crime, and perhaps to reform the criminal. However, some believe that trying to construct a table of equivalents so that the amount of suffering inflicted by the criminal could be meted out to the offender in some other form. How can such a table be drawn up? How many years must a blackmailer spend in prison to experience suffering equal to his victim’s? Is it possible, in any case, to make comparison of suffering between persons? Of course, we do assess the gravity of an offense and try to ensure that the punishment for a trivial offense and try to ensure that the punishment for a trivial offense is less severe than for a serious one. However, this is possible only because we take for granted an existing scale of penalties and grade new offenses accordingly. Such grading does not imply an intrinsic relation between the crime and the penalty apart from that established scale. Penalties prescribed by the law ought to reflect the moral heinousness of the offense. The most serious offenses against morals deserve the most severe penalties.  For what makes one offense more serious than another? #RyanPhillippe 3 of 6

We tend to concentrate on deterrence, turning away from the actual crime act except as one of a class actions that might be prevented by punishing the particular instance severely enough (but only just enough) to make the action unattractive enough to the offender and possible future offenders. The aim is presumably to select a penalty at which the aggregate of suffering actually inflicted would be the smallest possible. Thieves, murderers, dope-peddlers, the extortionist, and the smugglers are commit different levels of crimes, and we cannot typically justify severe penalties for trivial offense, nor justify weak penalties for serious crimes. A parking offense should never be more severe than physically forcing someone into a sex act, that would be monstrous. The goal of law enforcement is not minimize the number of offenses, but to minimize the total amount of suffering for victims and predators. If we call parking offenses trivial, we mean that each one causes relatively little suffering; therefore, we are prepared to put up with a large number of them rather than incur the cost of making offenders suffer heavy penalties. #RyanPhillippe 4 of 6

Extortion (a criminal act involving demanding money or something else of value from a person by threat of exposing information), on the other hand, cases so much suffering that if heavier penalties would yield to even a small reduction in the number of offenses, there might be a net gain even though offenders would suffer more than they did before. Therefore, one might agree that severe penalties ought to be restricted to serious offenses, but we call an offense serious precisely because it causes a great deal of suffering. If a person knew they were going to get hanged for parking on the wrong side of the street on street cleaning day, I am sure that individual would probably sell their car to avoid such a harsh penalty. It is only serious crimes that deserve severe penalties. Expected consequences might establish a kind of standard penalty for each class of offenses. Officials drafting new rules might consider whether a proposed maximum penalty would keep offenses down to manageable proportions, or people concerned about road accidents might argue that heavier penalties for motoring offenses would make drivers more careful. #RyanPhillippe 5 of 6

Conversations have convinced me that the ideality of the material World is through insight reliance on reason. Deciding the sentence in a particular case, however, is clearly a different matter. The maximum penalty is a limiting factor, but questions like the degree of responsibility, provocation, and the offender’s previous record are all relevant. However, one might reasonably ask why, as a matter of principle, they should be relevant. These mutually related stages are found to be in every aspect of experience, and since there are no things-in-themselves behind experience, they characterize all aspects of our World. Justice means to be fair. Justice presupposed people pressing claims and justifying them by rules or standards. This distinguished it from charity, benevolence, or generosity. No one can claim alms or gift as a right. However, although this account is appropriate to questions of distributive justice, where the problem is to allocate benefits, it is not so obviously true of corrective (or retributive) justice. It is farfetched to describe a criminal trial as a conflict between an accused man’s interest in being let alone and the community’s interest (if he has one) in punishing him. Nevertheless, sentencing criminals and giving judgment in favor of one part to a dispute rather than another have this in common with distribution—that they all may have involved overriding claim and treating one person more harshly than another. All presuppose general principles by which such distinctions are regulated and justified. #RyanPhillippe 6 of 6

Squad Goals–Dope Squad Detectives

To allow corporations and cities to deal dope, but lock men and women up for these same offenses is crude, and the differences in treatment must be justified by relevant differences in treatment or condition, where relevance is defined in the light of general rules, and that every human being should be treated with at least a minimum of respect as a source of claims and not as a mere instrument for the promotion of the interest of others. The reason, and I am not justifying this because I think even smoking cigarettes should be illegal and regulated to facilities like the consumption of alcohol because it makes it hard to breath and pollutes the air and if it was done indoors at a smoking bar they could purify the air before releasing it, but people often deal drugs because they grew up poor and are uneducated and need a way to get out of strong gravitational effects of poverty that many cannot seem to escape from through legal mean. Many people feel like they are being held hostage in the ghetto, and it can be argued that it is wrong to allow wealthy people and cities with public money deal quasi legal dope, but punish victims of society who are being held hostage in poverty.

Corporations and cities being allowed to circumvent the law and cultivate and distribute marijuana, while others are severing life sentences in prison for the same thing is an abuse because it necessarily makes for more unhappiness than it prevents, and it treats a certain class of men and women in a way that is appropriate only for the guilt and creates a double standard for the wealth that makes them believe it is okay to not follow the laws. Moreover, a legal system is designed to guide conduct by laying down rules and attaching penalties to those who choose to break them. It is acceptable because the criminal males the essential choice; he, she, or they bring it on themselves. The people trapped in poverty and who have been arrested for cultivating and distributing drugs, on the other hand, have no chance to settle their own fate; they were used as a mere lever for manipulating other people’s conduct, and their own interest is subordinate to that of the other members of society. So it could be argued that many of these people in prison for selling and cultivation and possession of marijuana are technically innocent.

And punishment of the innocent ignores, in the short, fundamental procedural rules of justice and morality without which utilitarianism would make little sense, for unless every is worthy of equal consideration as a source of claims, whose interest is to count in assessing the utility of a course of action? Whom are we entitled to treat as simply a tool for advancing other people’s interest—slave by nature—and what would count as a reason for considering other people before them? This has bearing, too, on the reasons for accepting as excuses such defenses as duress, unavoidable accident, or ignorance of fact—conditions under which an offender can claim that he could not help doing what he did. “I had no choice but to sale drugs, I could not get a job and my baby was hungry and the lights got shut out and my family was about to be put out on the streets. As a man, I had to do something to provide for my family.” It could be argued punishing anyone under such conditions, when you are allowing people to deal dope who have other choices, would be pointless and, therefore, mischievous, because the threat of penalties could not possibly deter anyone in the future who was similarly placed.

People who sale drugs are considered to be hustlers—uneducated, unskilled at anything honorable, and they consider themselves nervy and cunning enough to live by their wits, exploiting any prey that presented itself. They will risk just about anything. Right now, in every big city ghetto, tens of thousands of yesterday’s and today’s school drop-outs are keeping body and soul together by some form of hustling. These people might be casually dealing card in a black jack game, and an old cook with wild and sloshed eyes, forming at the mouth, might try to be slick, and they have to drop a pistol in his face. The dope game is not fun and games. We do not want to glamorize weed and make it seem like it is okay to sale and by corporations and cities and states to get involved in the drug trade is just wrong.  And people who sale and use illegal drugs inevitably moved into more and more, worse and worse, illegality and immorality. Full-time hustlers can relax to appraise what they are doing and where they are bound. As is the case in any jungle, the hustler’s every waking hour is lived with both practical and the subconscious knowledge that if one every relaxes, if one every slows down, the other hungry, restless foxes, ferrets, wolves, and vultures out there with one will not hesitate to make him their prey.

Now that the law somewhat protects people, who deal dope for a corporation, from being robbed and having their brains blown out or dope stolen, one might say that it is morally acceptable to interview people in jail and prison, find out who was locked up for the sale, cultivation, or possession of marijuana and ask them is it is the consequence of an act freely chosen by the criminal, or if they were somehow forced into it and release those who had no other choice because we now have corporations and cities disturbing, cultivating, and possessing marijuana and they are not being arrested, having their assets auctioned off, and doing time in a government facility. In the minds of some, a man acting in ignorance or by accident cannot be said to bring his punishment on himself. Punishment, seen as a way of influencing conduct, cannot be justified if there has been no real possibility of choice. Moreover, the punishment of involuntary offenses introduces into men’s lives the possibility of disaster which they can neither foresee nor avert. They cannot be fairly tried and judged before an Earthly tribunal. We are after all justifying a particular case of punishment, but allowing others to go unpunished for the same crime who actually have more resources, which is setting a dangerous precedent.

Internal Graces Conquer the Souls of the Judicious

Fines and imprisonments and corporal punishments operate more forcibly on the human mind than all the fears of damnation. Punishment is deliberately inflicted pain or deprivation on an offender because of an offense he has committed; it is deliberately imposed, not just the natural consequence of a person’s action (like a hang-over), and the unpleasantness is essential to it, not an accidental accompaniment to some other treatment (like the pain of a dentist’s drill). It is imposed by an agent authorized by the system of rules against which an offense has been committed; a lynching is not a standard case of punishment. My interest in punishment is mainly connected with questions of justification. It is, prima facie (based on the first impression), wrong to deliberately inflict suffering or deprivation on another person, yet punishment consists in doing precisely this. What conditions would justify it? Or, more generally, what kind of considerations would count toward a justification?

We must reconcile the apparently conflicting principles that wrongdoers should be punished and that it is wrong to make another man suffer. For instance, if a person had already committed a crime, that would clearly be relevant to the questions of whether he ought to be punished (although it might not be conclusive). What if he were only expected to commit a crime in the future? Or, again, is it relevant to the question of whether this man should be punished to say that punishing him would deter others? And assuming that criminals ought to be punished, how should we set about deciding appropriate penalties? Punishment can be justified only if it has beneficent consequences that outweigh the intrinsic evil of inflicting suffering on human beings. However, it is better that the wicked should be punished than that they should prosper more than the virtuous and, perhaps, at the hands of their expense. Sin is always punished in this World, whatever may come in the next. There is always some penalty in health, in comfort, or in peace of mind to be paid for every wrong.

One can take for granted the principle that wrongdoers should be punished and ask whether a particular cause of punishment was justified. For instance, “The War on Drugs,” is an American term commonly applied to a campaign of prohibition of drugs, with the purpose to reducing the illegal drug trade. It was started by President Richard Nixon 18 June 1971. Since then, “The War on Drugs,” has cost Americans $51,000,000.00 a year. And in the year 2014, 1.6 million people were arrested for drug offenses in the United States of America, 700,993 of those were for marijuana law violations, 1,297,384 (83 percent) of those arrest were for possession only, and 46.4 percent of people are in prison for drug related charges. Punishment has the advantage of impressing both on the criminal and on everyone else that a breach of law and morals is so serious that society must do something to prevent it.  Happy is it for those few who are detected in their sins, and brought to exemplary punishment for them in this World.

However, this raises the philosophical question of how one justifies a set of rules or an institution like a penal system to incarceration of people who deal drugs, but allows corporations to deal drugs and even local governments want in on the action. Mind you, it is still against federal law to sale and distribute drugs like marijuana. Nevertheless, according to David Downs of the East Bay Express in “Oakland, California USA, the city of Oakland wants to require any new Oakland marijuana company to make the city a partner—and direct revenue from the cannabis industry to elected officials’ special projects. Oakland would require new marijuana-shop owners to give the city 25 percent ownership stake in a business, plus one seat on a company’s board.” So, in what sense can punishment be said to restore the balance or annul the wrong, when it taken for granted that criminals deserve to be punished? How can we have 1.6 million people arrested for drug crimes annually, making up nearly 50 percent of prison populations, but allow corporations and cities to be involved in the cultivation and distribution of drugs that are deemed illegal by the federal government?

Nor is it clear that virtue must be rewarded or that universal justice requires the kind of human rectification that this sort of retubutivism envisages. Of course, in a universe in which the wicked prospered, there might be no incentive to virtue. Again, evil motives and a bad character are necessary conditions for wickedness, but not of legal guilt and criminal liability. The state’s function is to punish breaches of those rules which in the public interest ought to be upheld; it is a matter of indifference in law (but not in morals) that some men who observe the rules do so from the unworthy motive of fear and others break them from the laudable motives of principle. Conversely, it is at least doubtful whether the criminal law should provide penalties for offenses against morality except where the public interest is at doubtful whether the criminal law should provide penalties for offenses against morality except where the public interest is at stake—exempli gratis (for the sake of example), whether it should extend to cases of lying other than, say, false pretenses and perjury.

Punishment is necessary to annul the wrong done by the criminal. By this something more than restitution or compensation, neither of which is strictly punishment. It is, rather, that the criminal has upset the balance of the moral order, which can be restored only be their being made to suffer. In what sense can punishment be said to restore the balance or annul the wrong, unless it is taken for granted that criminals deserve to be punished? All punishment is a mischief…If it ought at all to be admitted, it ought only to be admitted in as far as it promises to exclude some greater evil. By reforming the criminal, by deterring them or others from similar offenses in the future, or by directly preventing further offenses by imprisonment, deportation, or execution, the good that comes out of punishment may outweigh the intrinsic evil of suffering deliberately inflicted. Without such effects, or if the suffering inflicted exceeded the suffering avoided, the institution would be unjustified.

If people generally could be persuaded that an innocent man was guilty, some would justify punishing him since as a warning to other he would be just as useful as a genuine offender. Again, offenders might be deterred by threatening to punish their wives and children, particularly, if as is so often the case with political terrorists and resistance fighters, it were difficult to catch the offenders themselves. Or again, if punishment could be justified as a way of reforming criminals, it would seem better to punish them before, rather than after, they have committed their crimes. Nonetheless, do not lose sight of the two conditions which are necessary to the very idea of punishment—namely, that an offense should have been committed and that punishment shall be of the offender himself, who alone can be said to deserve it. Even justice makes victims. Punishment is punishment only when it is deserved; punishment for any other reason is a crying injustice. Proof must be built up stone by stone. The end crowns the work. It is not enough that Justice should be morally certain; she must be immorally certain—legally that is.

I hate the man in whom kindness produces no responsive affection, and injustice no swell, no glow of resentment. Some think that it is a good idea to punish innocent people provided that such punishment causes less suffering than might otherwise be caused by the would-be criminals it deters because in the end, the deception would break down, that it could not be used systematically, or that the long-term consequences would be bad for society. However, these answers are unsatisfactory because they depend on assumptions of purely contingent consequences. Our revulsion against punishing innocent men seems to go deeper than that. In any cause, these answers will not meet the case for punishing hostages, which can certainly be done systematically and requires no deception or secrecy. The truth is always incredible, because the blind eyes of humanity can see only half-truths except by great effort. Child predators like, Kevin Maurice Johnson, the Mayor of Sacrament, California USA will eventually be punished for his crimes. Kings are accountable for injustice permitted as well as done.

Soul is a thinking Substance in and Opens Doors of Heaven and to the Doors of Hell

The soul is part of our intellect and is a gift to God, and with it comes knowledge, and that is why some people are able to build rocket ships, and machines, and cars. “For I know the plans I have for you, plans for you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future,” declares the Lord (Jeremiah 29.11). These talented individuals were able to create these inventions because they were blessed by God and it was in the destiny of their soul to design things that would make the World a better and more efficient place. Their goal was not simply to make money, but they wanted to make life more pleasant for everyone by sharing the knowledge and abilities that God blessed them with. Those who deny God…There is none which is more effectual in leading feeble spirits from the straight path of virtue, then to imagine that…after this life we have nothing to fear or to hope for, any more than the flying monkeys in the Wizard of Oz, our soul is in its nature entirely independent of the body, and in consequence that it is not liable to die with it. And then, inasmuch as we observe no other causes capable of destroying it, we are naturally inclined to judge that it is immortal. #RyanPhillippe 1 of 8

The concept of immortality and eternity is certainly one of the strongest fascinations of many of us today, as so many feel that 70 to 90 years is not long enough to get everything accomplished. Humanity has always desires to live forever because of a natural fear of death. The circulation of blood suggests that both animals and human bodies might be regarded as living machines. With the respect of animals there is simply no distinction in principle but that an automation in human shape, however brilliantly constructed, could always be distinguished from a true human being in two ways. There are two sorts of test which are bound to reveal the abuse of the vital rational soul: without a rational soul such an automaton would not be able to reply appropriately to everything said in its presence, as even the lowest type of man can do, and their lack of versatility would always reveal that the automata did not act from knowledge, but only from the disposition of their organs. Also, in regard to machines, it is morally impossible that there should be sufficient diversity in any machine to allow it to act in all events of life in the same way as our reason causes us to act. #RyanPhillippe 2 of 8

It is inconceivable that any material mechanism could replace a human. All of which is in us and which we cannot in any way conceive as possibly pertaining to a body, must be attributed to our soul.  And thought, which seems to include all actions and passions are considered to involve consciousness. By the word thought I understand all that is why not only understanding, willing, imaging, but feeling also here count as thought. Rational beings could not, without benefit of control by some Higher Purpose, have evolved first from creatures of a lower order and, ultimately, from inanimate matter. While we are on the subject of soul and immortality, it of course made me thing about mythical vampire. Being a member of the living dead, not having a soul, is the true meaning of duality because it is a total contradiction. Like to be alive, you have to possess a soul to keep your body from rotting. Vampires are not of the human World, and soulless, therefore, it leads me to believe that the soul is in the human blood and that is why the feed on humans in order to get their life-force. However, even vampires fear death and that is why they need to be a part of human society; not only are mortals a source of sustenance, but they are also a source of comfort. #RyanPhillippe 3 of 8

Man longs to be freed of nature, but once released to imaginative realms he needs to involve himself back in time and natural cycle. Only in such surroundings can the imagination guarantee life itself. Every hydrogen atom has one proton, and it has been speculated that in the past the and maybe sometime in the future that it may have been or will be possible for hydrogen atoms to have more than one proton. Atomic hydrogen constitutes about 75 percent of the elemental (baryonic) mass of the Universe. A proton (i.e. the nucleus of a hydrogen atom) has a positive electrical charge, that is, it acts like the positive end of a magnet. If we bring two protons together they repeal each other. The closer we try to push the protons together the more energy we need to overcome the repulsion. If we apply a lot of energy (on an atomic scale) we overcome the magnetic resistance and the two protons stick together; they have fused. In doing so, they give up a little of their mass in the form of energy. In fact, the energy released is greater than the energy that was required to force the two protons together. We now have a source of energy: nuclear fusion. #RyanPhillippe 4 of 8

Energy is released during the fusion of hydrogen because when two protons are forced together, they fuse. In addition, one of the protons changes into another particle; it transmutes from being a proton into being a neutron. Not only that, but in doing so it ejects two further particles: a positron (a positively charged electron) and a strange mass-less, particle called a neutrino. We know that the nucleus of an atom that is the second isotope of hydrogen, called deuterium. It contains one proton and one neutron. The positron and neutrino go flying off with kinetic energy supplied by converting some of the mass of the transmuted proton into kinetic energy, in accordance with E = mc2. This is how the Sun was formed 4.6 billion years ago. It was a huge cloud of gas. Most of that gas was hydrogen, but it also contained some helium (about 30 percent) and small amounts of many other elements such as carbon, oxygen, silicon, and so on. The gas cloud contracted under its own gravity and started to spin, in doing so ejecting most of the heavier elements, some which became the planets, asteroids and comets, and some which eventually ended up as you and me. What remained was a huge ball of mostly hydrogen and helium that we now call the Sun. #RyanPhillippe 5  of 8

I walked you through this process for a few different reason. One day it dawned on me that maybe adding another proton to a hydrogen atom would be the key to immortality. Because, now we see the process of nuclear fusion can also create energy, a Universe and human life. Not only that, but Mars is too cold for liquid water and with nearly 8 billion people crowding Earth, perhaps it will be possible to create a Sun, through nuclear fusion, maybe it would be possible to warm Mars up, as currently it is minus 60 degrees Celsius on an average day. If humans could learn how to fine tune nuclear fusion, the possibilities are endless. Not only that, but back to these mythical vampires. I was thinking that they are formed by some supernatural force we do not understand, and they by drinking blood, they have more than one soul, which allows them to live eternally. Just like when a person is in an accident, and they lose a lot of blood, they will go into shock and die, unless they get more blood. So blood extends the human life, but it does not make a human immortal. #RyanPhillippe 6 of 8

I saw that I could conceive that I had no body, and that there was no World nor place where I might be; but yet that I could not for all that conceive that I was not. I was a substance the whole essence or nature of which is to think, and that for its existence there is no need of any place, nor does it depend on any material thing; so that is me, that is to say, the soul by which I am what I am, is entirely distinct from body, and even if the body were not, the soul would not cease to be what is. The nature of the soul is such that it must be or must be presumed to be imperishable. None of these arguments requires any reference to a deity, and none appeals to any moral premises. This may perhaps be surprising, for most people—at least those in the European cultural tradition—are likely to think that belief in God and in immortality must go together.  They are inclined to take it for granted that the main if not the only point of immortality—and sometimes perhaps of God, too—is to provide inordinate rewards and punishments. #RyanPhillippe 7 of 8

However, there is no obvious inconsistently in believing in a Creator while denying that he has established a new World in a future life to redress that moral unbalances of the old. Nor does it appear that to assert our immortality is logically either to presuppose or to imply the existence of any sort of god. It may seem odd, but it is not manifestly inconsistent, for such avowedly atheist to affirm immortality. Freedom, immortality, and God are seen by some as the source of the Universal imperatives of morality. In the case of immortality and God, appears to be that something is said to be commanded by the moral law but could be obeyed only on a certain condition; therefore, the conclusion is drawn that that condition mist obtain but that it must be a postulate reason. Some proofs of Immortality are amongst the most forcible arguments for the existence of a Deity. Wickedness may affect an increase in the total quantity of one’s personal happiness is seen to be in conflict with reason, and to be destructive of all morality. #RyanPhillippe 8 of 8
