Give Your Faith to No One Undeserved

 

 

 

We desire to possess a beauty that is worthy pursuing, worth fighting for, a beauty that is core to who we truly are. We want beauty that can be see; beauty that can be felt; beauty that affects others; a beauty all our own to unveil. Egyptians worshipped God in all things, and they believed they possessed a profound magic by which they were able to draw down cosmic powers into the statues of their gods, and that they reflect the divine mind behind the Universe. The idea behind it was they could turn from thinking about God to addressing him, and that way they were able to communicate with the living God, as distinct from merely giving intellectual assent to the God of philosophers. Intelligent, loving devotion to God has always been important with through eternity, it will never become obsolete. Because of the way different cultures channel God, it becomes obvious why scholars have long maintained that each era has a unique spirit, a nature or climate that sets it apart from all other epochs. Another remarkable and apparently pleasant feature of the spiritual existence is the absence of the measure of time and space as we know it here on Earth. God sent his word to heal us, and there is no time or distance in their spirit. Divine love permeates every part of our lives because God is greatly concerned with the quality of character we are building. The future the Lord has planned for us will be built on the strength of character we forge by his grace. #RandolphHarris 1 of 8

It is God’s intention that our lives should be a seamless manifestation of his Spirit. God’s qualities are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. The Lord has made abundant provisions for his indwelling our lives here and now. A fundamental aspect in our caring for our souls is to understand that we are always in the presence of God and it is important to redirect our minds constantly to the Lord. God is the great longing focus of our souls, and we are privileged to walk in this profound reality. God provided for human freedom through a doctrine of self-creation: humans are free even in the act by which they come into existence, for God allows human to collaborate in their own creation. God makes available a distinctively authentic and free mode of existence to all humanity. Only through practice of virtue are we able to transcend the barriers that separate the mental life of one age from that of another. “If you fully obey the LORD, your God, and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, The Lord, your God, will set you high above all the nations of Earth. If you obey the Lord, all these blessings will come upon you and accompany you. You will be blessed in your city and blessed in your country. You will be blessed when you come in and blessed when you go out. The LORD will grant that the enemies who rise up against you will be defeated before you,” Reports Deuteronomy 28.1.1-3 and 6-7. #RandolphHarris 2 of 8

Most people experience a rush of pleasure the moment a puzzling solution comes to them. When God puts a promise in our hearts, we have to come to the place where we believe in that promise so strongly no one and no circumstance can move us. Beauty grows in us to the extent that love grows, because charity itself is the soul’s beauty. As the soul is the life of the body, so God is the life of the soul. As spiritual knowledge unfolds, it must be understood, valued, obeyed, remembered, and expanded. The greatest achievement humankind can make in this World is to become familiarized with the divine truth, so thoroughly, so perfectly, that the example or conduct of no living creature in the World can ever turn us away from the knowledge that we have obtained. Of all treasures of knowledge, the most vital is the knowledge of God. The role of obedience in gaining spiritual knowledge is crucial. The Lord gives us gifts. He will quicken our minds. God will give us a knowledge that is so deeply rooted in our souls that it can never be rooted out. All we have to do is seek for the light and the understanding which is promised to us, and which we can receive, as long as we are true and faithful to every covenant and obligation, will become a treasure we are allowed to possess. “We trust God will deliver us, and deliver us out of the hands of our enemies,” reports Alma 58.37. #RandolphHarris 3 of 8

The satisfaction of performing a benevolent action will certainly encourage acts of benevolence in someone who desires the advantage of society. We must acknowledge the place of God in our lives, as we are already under his government. Our discoveries in nature have already prepared us to accept the main claims of revelation about God as a creator and judge. I do not like to see things on purpose. I like them to soak in. A friend asked me to go to the top of the state capitol castle once, and I told him that he should not treat park as a sight—it is a feeling, an emotional experience. And the same with every place. When you slow down and have a moment to reflect on everything, it is very beautiful. Some people go to watch people, I enjoy looking at the nature and the architecture. When there are not many people around, you can get a sense of how majestic everything is. It is like sensing God. There is perhaps no better evidence of the psychological impact nature can make than to look at the landscape and just be at peace. It is a warmth so powerful that even the blue sky is barely perceptible through the all-consuming, healing, green atmosphere. It is as if, the trees, grace, flowers, the statues, and the architecture of the castle cols the atmosphere, like rain in a time of drought, or shade at an oasis in the desert. It can be a very spiritual experience to reflect on the living memorial. Happiness should be all one feels. Just like a sunny autumn day. #RandolphHarris 4 of 8

Profound spiritual truth cannot simply be poured from one mind and heart to another. It takes faith and diligent effort. Precious truth comes a small piece at a time through faith, with great exertion, and at times wrenching struggles. The Lord intends it to be that way so that we can mature and progress. As packets of knowledge unfold, they must be understood, valued, obeyed, remembered, and expanded. As each element of truth is encountered, we must carefully examine it in the light of prior knowledge to determine where it fits. Ponder it; inspect it inside out. Study it from every vantage point to discover hidden meanings. View it in perspective to confirm one has not jumped to false conclusions. Prayerful reflection yields further understanding. Such evaluation is particularly important when the truth comes as an impression of Spirit. This awareness of age had a halo of innocence around it, and it also enjoys a measure of nobility. Spiritually sensitive information should be kept in a sacred place that communicates to the Lord. That is how we are to treasure it. Gaining spiritual knowledge is not a mechanical process. It is a sacred privilege based upon spiritual law. We can receive inspired help, as long as we humbly ask our Eternal Father. We must also seek the divine light, exercise faith in the Savior, and strive to live righteous lives. God will bless us and lead us as we move through this wonderful World. #RandolphHarris 5 of 8

Our Father in Heaven loves all of his children equally, perfectly, and infinitely. The Lord’s love is an advantage and brings out the flavours of the personality. The Lord’s love can carve out an interior space where wisdom can take up residence. Character strengths and virtues are brought into existence by God. We love virtue. It is always nice to have people in our lives who are good in some important way. Good people make us laugh, support us in hard times, and inspire us. Virtuous actions are better than ordinary behaviours because virtues integrate ethics and health, are embodied traits of character, are sources of human strengths and resilience, are embedded within a cultural context and community, contribute to a sense of meaningful life purpose, and are grounded in the cognitive capacity for wisdom. We are expected to wait calmly in the face of frustration, adversity, or suffering because we are connected to something bigger than the self and the present circumstances. As we endure, God will give us the gift of acceptance, which is unconditional. Given that charity or supernatural love is paramount in our spiritual life, it is clear why we have a high level of devotion to God. When we accurately reflect on ourselves, we realize the excellence of our natural gifts. There is no knowledge of self without knowledge of God. “It is the Lord, your God, you must follow, and him you must revere,” reports Deuteronomy 13. 4.  #RandolphHarris 6 of 8

The human person recognizes an intimate unity of the body and mind and understands that they are held in unity by the spiritual soul (as secondary formal and efficient causes) and by God (as ultimate first, formal, efficient, and final causes). People who use both reason and will in finding the standard moral knowledge are guided by well-ordered love, which is associated with healthy physiological and psychological functioning. The divine being is nothing else than the human being, or, rather, the human nature purified, freed from the limitations of the individual human. Our knowledge of God is our acknowledgment of his attitude toward us, especially his attitude of benevolence and love. The character strengths of this virtue include love, kindness, and social intelligence. Humanity relies on doing more than what is only fair—we must show generosity when an equitable exchange would suffice, kindness even if it cannot (or will not) be returned, and understanding even when punishment is due. “Wherefore, whoso believeth in God might with surety hope for a better World, yea, even a place at the right hand of God, which hope comes of faith, makes an anchor to the souls of people, which would make them sure and steadfast, always abounding in good works, being led to glorify God,” reports Ether 12.4. Intelligence exists and we interpret it. Justice, as a civic strength, is the underlying foundation of healthy community life. #RandolphHarris 7 of 8

We need to recognize the hard mortal realities in all of this and must use common sense and guidance by personal revelation. We need to remember that trials and temptations are an important part of our lives. When people are faced with adversity or affliction, we are advised not to criticize others for the way they choose to exercise their moral agency. “Pray for them that repentance may come unto them,” reports Moroni 8.28. We each also have the privilege to carefully and prayerfully seek the Lord’s will for regarding our individual challenges and dilemmas. Personal revelation is personal, indeed. It is not based on gender or position, but on worthiness. It comes in response to sincere inquiry. “And the remission of sins bringeth meekness, and humbleness of heart and because of our meekness and humbleness of heart cometh the visitation of the Holy Ghost, which Comforter filleth with hope and perfect love, which love endureth by diligence unto prayer, until the end shall come, when all the saints shall dwell with God,” reports Moroni 8.26. When our lives are in balance, before we realize it our lives will be full of spiritual understanding that will confirm that our Heavenly Father loves us and that his plan is fair and true and we should strive to understand and enjoy it. We should be worthy of trust, and always keep confidences. #RandolphHarris 8 of 8

We Love God with All Our Heart, Soul, and Mind and We Love Our Neighbour as Ourselves!

 

Having a healthy, fully functioning community is not a luxury or something just for a rare few. It needs to be a reality for enough of us to significantly impact the majority. The omnipotence of God resides simply in the fact that whenever he wills anything, his will is immediately and invariably followed by the existence of its object. Heaven may seem distant at times, but God’s pure love encourages us to become more pure and holy. It inspires us to walk in righteousness—not out of fear or obligation, but to out of an earnest desire to become even more like the Lord because we love him. By doing so, we can become born again and be sanctified from all sin, and enjoy the words of eternal life in this World and eternal life in the World to come, even immortal glory. If we do not feel worthy to be a disciple of the Lord at all times, we should not get discouraged. The first step to walking in righteousness is to simply try. We must try to believe. Try to learn of God: read the scriptures; study the words of his prophets; choose to listen to the Heavenly Father, and do the things he asks of us. Try and keep on trying until that which seems difficult becomes possible—and that which seems only possible becomes habit and a real part of us. “For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope. May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give us a spirit of unity,” reports Romans 15.4-5. #RandolphHarris 1 of 8

Some of us are overly self-conscious, and that skill and be both a blessing and a burden. It may help us forecast what others want or need for us, but it also opens us up to every critical comment aimed in our direction. This can cause an individual to become wrapped in their thoughts, mentally on guard for any chance to win approval and be accepted. However, after we figure out that we are worthwhile and stop worrying about how others react to us, we will still be aware of others’ opinions of us, but we will not care so very much. At first it might feel odd not to be vigilant in every social situation. Since we will no longer analyze every interaction for its inherent danger or opportunity, we may find ourselves building up a huge bank account of mental energy. Once we realize the gift life has given to us, we become very excited. It is like winning a lot of money tax free and being able to do whatever we want. So, why not channel all of our keen mental abilities in some new, more productive, less stressful direction? How about getting to know who we are as people? We can learn more psychology, religion, art, more names of flowers and trees and birds. Maybe it would even be possible to grow a business and get rid of poverty. When people mature we experience a dramatic change in the way we view the opinions of the outside World: these opinions suddenly lose impact. We shift our attention from words to things. #RandolphHarris 2 of 8

None of this is to say, of course, that the opinions of others are unimportant. The fact that we care about what other people think is a basic foundation of society, and it helps us do the right thing at times when it would be easier, or more fun, to follow our own selfish interest. The self-conscious, is us watching ourselves from the eyes of others, and this helped us, as children, learn to adhere to the norms of our families and communities. Self-conscious observation spurs us to climb the ladders of success in educational and professional pursuits. “None of us lives in oneself alone and none of us dies to oneself alone. If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life so that he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living. You, then, why do you judge your family? Or why do you look down on your family? For we will all stand before God’s judgment seat. It is written: ‘As surely as I live, says the Lord, every knee will bow before me; every tongue will confess to God,’” reports Romans 14.7-11. We should listen for the voice of the Heavenly Father in the bounties and beauties of nature, in the gentle whisperings of the Spirit. As we draw near to Heavenly Father, we become more holy. And as we become more holy, we will overcome disbelief and our souls will be filled with his blessed light. #RandolphHarris 3 of 8

The new approach we need to keep growing is by aligning our lives with this supernal light so it can lead us out of darkness and toward the greater light. This greater light leads to the unspeakable ministering of the Holy Spirit, and the veil between Heaven and Earth can become thin. Heavenly Father’s love for his children is the core message of the plan of happiness, which plan is made active through the Atonement—the greatest expression of live the World has ever known. When we are ready to give up self-conscious, adults who experience this magical time of self-awareness, or one watching through the eyes of one’s own inner authority come to understand that God’s commandments hang upon the principle of love. If we do not neglect the great laws—if we truly learn to love our Heavenly Father and our fellow people with all our heart, soul, and mind—all else will fall into place. “Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in human love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with God’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality,” reports Romans 12.9-13.  As we begin to listen to ourselves, we will find that our mental life takes on two important aspects. First, we begin to approach the external World more deliberately, with out own interest at heart. Second, we discover aspects of ourselves—our preferences, talents, and habits. #RandolphHarris 4 of 8

As we negotiate a new balance between our internal World and the external one, both changes help us face the World with confidence. Getting this balance is the right key to wisdom. “Learn wisdom in thy youth; yea, learn in thy youth to keep the commandments of God. Yea, and cry unto God for all thy support; yea, let all thy doings be unto the Lord, and withersoever thou goest let it be in the Lord; yea, let all thy thoughts be directed unto the Lord; yea, let the affections of thy heart be placed upon the Lord forever,” reports Alma 37.36. Becoming wise is one of the major objectives of maturity. How wise we become depends in large part on our ability to watch our public self with the curiosity of a detective and the compassion of a saint. What we observe ourselves doing in the course of our maturity may at times startle us, discourage us, confuse us, and overwhelm us. However, we must remember to be gentle with ourselves. We have to understand that we will renegotiate this balance over and over in the years to come. Many people are at war—at war with life, with each other, with themselves—consumed by the fight to win at work and elsewhere. It all includes huge drama, high stakes, tremendous challenges and risks, primal encounters, great danger, unusual camaraderie, and the extremes of play at the edge. However, the ensouled body is in communion with the body of the World and find its health in that intimacy. “Counsel with the Lord in all thy doings, and he will direct thee for good,” reports Alma 37.37. #RandolphHarris 5 of 8

All power ultimately comes from God; he alone has absolute sovereignty. Although many nations have a wonderful constitution, many people see the American Constitution more nearly perfect than others because it recognizes the existence of the Creator and God-given rights of individuals, which the government is bound to respect and protect. Because of the social contract theory, a philosophy of government that holds that governments exist based on the consent of the governed, and individuals who give their consent to be governed have the right to resist or remove rulers who deviate from those purposes. In the ringing language, the Declaration of Independence proclaims: We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all people are created equal (in the eyes of the law), that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness. When God reveals himself, he does so as a person. Revelation is the act of a person, not the setting out of a doctrine. In revelation, God encounters humans beings as person to person; humans cannot argue their way to God by philosophy or discover God apart from the Biblical revelation, yet when God calls, humans can at least answer. We must return continually to revelation for renewal. This is in part because of the character of human sin, but it is also in part because we must reassert the personal character of social life in a new context. #RandolphHarris 6 of 8

Many people never make the transition from self-consciousness to self-awareness. They get stuck in what is called self-sabotage: they stop caring altogether. The man who just lets himself go, or the woman who just says she is no good at math are both engaging in self-limiting behaviour. A self-aware person makes conscious choices about what to do about simple facts: “I want to live a long, energetic life (fulfilling a person imperative), I will start exercising.” A self-sabotaging person will see the fact, may even see what needs to be done, but will go no further. We can, however, use this gift of life to pursue wisdom. All we have to be to become wiser is to listen to our own internal rhythms and use them in our daily lives. Sounds simple, right? However, anyone who has tried it knows that it is constant work. Wisdom is not a goal, but a life-long process, lit by a sense of ever-evolving relationship with all that we are. If we practice on improving everyday for a week, we should make surprising discoveries that can improve our lives on several levels. The divine love of God turns ordinary acts into extraordinary service. Divine love is the motive that transports simple words into sacred scripture. Divine love is the factor that transforms reluctant compliance with God’s commandments into blessed dedication and consecration. Love is the guiding light that illuminates the disciple’s path and fills our daily walk with life, meaning, and wonder. “And never could be a people more blessed than were they, and more prospered by the hand of the Lord,” reports Ether 10.28. #RandolphHarris 7 of 8

God is in Heaven. He lives. He knows and loves you. He is mindful of you. He hears your prayers and knows the desires of your heart. He is filled with infinite love for you. Let us be known as a people who love God with all our heart, soul, and mind, and who love our neighbour as ourselves. When we understand and practice these two great commandments in our families, in our wards and branches, in our nations, and in our daily lives, we will begin to understand what it means to be a true lover of God. If only because through doing so we learn to fully and compassionately relate to all that we are, every one of us needs to wholeheartedly engage in the learnings and work that make closeness possible because it will eventually heal ourselves so deeply that we render ourselves all but incapable of dehumanizing others. Full-out intimate relationship is one of the most healing paths there is, and has the capacity to revolutionize our companionship on a significant scale, but only if it foes to a sufficiently deep level. More than cosmetic shifts are needed, more than superficial gains, more than dips in self-help literature and seminars, more than attendance to sporting events. Without a saner, deeper bonding between intimate partners, dysfunctional associations will continue to dominate the community landscape. #RandolphHarris 8 of 8

Everyone has a Secret World Inside—Lord be with Your Spirit and Grace be with You

 

Virtue is doing good to humankind, in obedience to the will of God, and for the sake of everlasting happiness. Virtuous people are proper self-lovers who, in the process of promoting the self, will not hard others. Love is divine because it comes from God and unites us to God; through this unifying process it makes us a community which transcends our divisions and makes us one, until in the end God is all in all. The psychology concerns the person, who loves, and the mutuality of persons in love. The psychology of mutual love is based on a gift that is first received from other human beings—parents, spouses, children, friends—and primordially from God. Love recognizes the interdependence of human and divine love and their being rooted in knowledge and faith. God is love and has created all humankind in the divine image as knowing and loving persons. It is God’s love that makes possible human love of God, neighbour, and oneself. Since human love is both divine in origin and human in expression, we are constantly reminded of that because of the effects of sin, the divine likeness is wounded in humankind. Nonetheless, the Atonement bestowed a new dignity on human nature and redeemed human kind in a majestic act of love. God’s continuous and sustaining gift, which is manifest in loving personal relationships and the living religious tradition, serves as the basis for the practice of the art of love in a faith-based psychology of love. #RandolpHarris 1 of 8

Psychology is the study of the human psyche or spiritual soul, which includes behavior and the mine, but more as well. There is a basic need for safe emotional connection and people often seek safe relationships, as they are a manifestation of health and strength. As relationships develop, they tend to flourish because they are a secure base to help deal with life and the World. Typically, emotional accessibility and responsiveness are desirable. If people have self-love, they respect their thoughts, feelings and beliefs and experience a deep sense of pride; a framework is designed to resist compression, and allows us the right to have ideas, speak them, and expect others to be respectful. People that love themselves acknowledge and accept the fact that they have some faults and, for the most part, excuse themselves. People who are able to self-actualize learn from the mistakes made in life. All knowledge is relative and concerns only what is conditioned by the fact that we know it. Absolute or unconditioned reality is unknowable at this time. We can conceiver it even have faith that it exists, but at best we can have only negative knowledge of it. The experience of our humanness depends on our self-knowledge and the experience of ourselves. The difference between a healthy self-love and a distorted self-love lies in the ability to tell reality from fantasy and the ability to empathise and to love others. #RandolphHarris 2 of 8

The great spiritual teachers do not preach only to the converted, but engage with an entire people, and by their ability to reach into the hearts and minds of many they exert a profoundly transformative influence on individuals and society. There is a deeper sense of spiritual affection, a love that unites God and humankind, souls and soul in divine communion.  God cannot be submitted to humanly rational standards of morality so we build a connection and guide humanity to God’s grace, God’s unselfish love, and it is given freely by God. God’s love is sovereign and is directed to the good for those who stand in a relationship with it; it creates value in its object. “The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he restores my soul. God guides me in paths of righteousness for is name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and love will follow me all these days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever,” reports Psalm 23.1-6. #RandolphHarris 3 of 8

Some people only think about how old they look, and that is an indication that they need to work on their self-esteem. If an individual invests too much of one’s self-worth in the way he or she looks nature’s gentle changes begin to seem like personal insults. Many people who care about the way they look resort to cosmetic surgery to keep themselves looking young. These patients are never satisfied with their surgeries, because no plastic surgeon is capable of erasing age. No matter how many wrinkles the doctor eradicates, a patient’s face will reveal its chronological age within five years. There is another kind of patient, too, a type who does not care about looking young; they want to look good. It sounds like a fine distinction, but someone who wants to look his or her best at forty-five will always be happier with his or her surgery than someone who wants to look thirty at sixty-five. If you do it for the right reasons, plastic surgery can really be terrific. No one can decide how much attention you will give your looks. For most of us, it is enough to dress well, get a good haircut, and generally make the best of what we have. All of us are in some age shock experience. However, who we are is in fine shape somewhere deep inside. So why worry about the flesh so much? Cast your minds back to your first spiritual experience. You are a fierce, energetic, living person. #RandolphHarris 4 of 8

The thinking-self separates mind or soul from the bodily material World and has the effect that emotions, sensations, and feelings, necessary for self-reflection, can be neglected. How many times do you force your body to so something at its own expense? We may push ourselves to run faster, lose more weight, stay up later, get up earlier, work longer, loft one more box plant one more tree—at a time when our bodies are screaming “STOP!” in fatigue or pain. Many people fight back, maybe pop some acetaminophen or oxycodone, and keep going. However, this can cause high risk for addiction and dependence, respiratory distress and death when taken in high doses or when combined with other substances, especially alcohol. We learn how to mentally dominate our physical needs early in life. That is what potty training is all about. However, often what starts out as a healthy effort to adapt bodily function to fit social dictates ends up causing strain and damage. Without contemplation, sense, experience, feelings, etcetera, the idea of a personal identity is not possible and the self as a rational and relational being experience Empty Suit Syndrome. When a person is subject to relentless, abusive demands, the physical mechanisms of the body start to break down, and the brain-washing slowly erodes one’s sense of self-worthy, security, and trust in humanity. #RandolphHarris 5 of 8

Many physical symptoms that we attribute to getting older are actually manifestations of physical strain. For instance, high blood pressure trouble digesting certain foods, and chronic pain, along with more debilitating cancer and heart attacks, are more often manifestations of unrelenting strain. Honor the wisdom of the body by slowing down long enough to figure out how to alleviate the stress it is under. Listening to our bodies has many rewards. We will be healthier, of course, and we will feel better. The better we become at listening to your bodies, the better our bodies will treat us. Aches and pains, poor sleep, or lack of stamina may be the early warning signs of unresolved stress on our bodies. We are probably pushing ourselves too hard, perhaps as a result of some internal pressure to perform. Rarely are symptoms such as these related solely to the aging process. If we leave them unresolved, we are opening the door to physical decline. “The Earth is the LORD’s, and everything in it, the World, and all who live in it; for God founded it upon the seas and established it upon the waters,” reports Psalms 24.1-2. God designed our bodies to communicate with us, to help us achieve mind-body balance. The mind, body, and sensations are working together in creating awareness of self with memory and one’s sense of personal identity. #RandolphHarris 6 of 8

The Experience of an integrated self-love, mind, along with emotions and will is a core reality. Although the mind work through reasoning, it works closely with one’s emotions and will, but the mind is the part where all experiences are intellectually observed and where one consciously and unconsciously learns to deal with the inner as well as the outer World. The mind, by the process of reasoning and analysis, assists us to learn lessons about ourselves and makes us conscious about the World. The illative sense sustains a real assent to the existence of God on the basis of the deliverance of conscience. To have a natural theology, that is, to know God exists through reason, we need to recruit our illative sense. The illative sense is what allows us to take our concrete human experiences—whether they be of nature’s beauty, of the demands of conscience (the feeling of guilt, the pangs of remorse, the search for forgiveness), of the sense of the contingency of life, and come to the conclusions that there is a transcendent reality behind it all, ultimately God. Truths and beliefs that we inherit from the ancestors, who discovered the Unknowable toward which they shared the religious emotions, transcended the belief that quantity of life is the supreme value is uneasily qualified by admission of the importance of a surplus of agreeable feeling. The whole net of relationships which we find ourselves in, in one way or another, influences our life-experiences, and thus also our experience of self. The lack of an integrated view point of the self clearly has dire consequences for the understanding of the relationships we have with God, other human beings, ourselves, and the Universe. If we do not experience self, we cannot experience anything else. In short: the ability to think, to reason, in other worse, the rational, is of fundamental importance in discerning the importance of relationships and the development of relationships. It is an ability that draws on and is influenced by our personhood as a holistic experiential experience of past and present realities and future anticipations. Our evaluations, our perceptions of what we experience, are fundamental not only to how we relate to ourselves, but to everybody and everything, God included. It is the light in the Biblical teaching that God’s love towards humans and all of creation is realized within the context of a covenant relationship, is a core truth. Love in Scripture is always within clearly defined relationships governed by certain distinctive responsibilities. “For the grace of God that brings salvation has appear to all people. Every Piece of Work We Create is a Portrait of the One Who Produced it

 

 

If we think about nature as a cosmic person, it is economically explained as the energizing cosmic Person. Nature is God willing in accordance with rational principles, hence nature dependably supports the orderly common World our finite reasons construct in response to it. God, however, it not identical with the natural World. He is transcendent as well as immanent in relation to it. He is the unified, dynamic ground of nature, and he uses it for his purposes, inclusive of his interaction with finite person. How, then, are finite persons related to God? Finite persons are created by God and have relative, delegated autonomy. The real World, whose structure maintains and guides the constructive cognitive adjustments of persons, does not force their moral and appreciative responses. However, when person do not treat each other as persons in a realm that is purposeful, they fall short of what their own natures in God’s World can be. God created humans free, to work out the content of their freedom in a World order that at once limits and gives them opportunity for fulfillment. Human freedom could effect nothing in a World without order, for persons do not create the rational or moral principles by which they guide their thought and action in the given ultimate order. “Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The natural World as known by persons is the objectification of the orderly interaction between finite wills and cosmic Will. The ethical World is the objectification of the orderly, chosen, interaction among free, finite persons in the natural World God makes possible. It is a realm of persons untied both by God’s purposive action in nature and by the further moral unity created as persons freely respond to the reason, will, and love of the cosmic Person. “I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone—for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one mediator between God and people, the man who is our Savior, who gave himself as a ransom for all people—the testimony given in its proper time. And for this purpose, I was appointed a herald and an apostle—I am telling the truth, I am not lying—and a teacher of the true faith. I want people everywhere to lift up holy hands in prayer, without anger nor disputing,” reports 1 Timothy 4.1-8. The grace of God as it is prevenient both in time and nature to all good works prevents the destruction of inherent order between grace and glory, sin and free will. There can be no such thing as an act of free will, let alone merit, other than by God first willing it. God not only sees future actions, he wills them; contingency, far from being outside our knowledge, is the product of God’s willing. God is so actively involved in his creatures, as the senior partner in all they do, that creation is virtually an extension of his will. Some people say that because human’s infirmities and God’s omnipotence as established by authority, the Fall played no role in the outcome of humanity because people are dependent on God and it is not reasonable to have a huge planet with only two people on it. For a human being to adapt to a rapidly-changing World, one needs the companionship and support of others with whom one may sometimes disagree, but nevertheless feel a fundamental bond of like-mindedness. Pain is real, but so is hope. We need to recognize the importance of interdependence with others. “For Adam was formed first, then Eve. And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner. However, women will be saved through childbearing—of they continue in faith, love and holiness with propriety,” reports 1 Timothy 2.14-15. The family is divine in nature and God designates it as the fundamental building block of society, both on Earth and through eternity. Family is where we learn the social graces of loyalty, cooperation, and trust. Originally, the family served as almost a self-contained society. Perhaps one of the reasons for the immense popularity of the film “The Godfather” is that despite the admittedly less than honorable aims of the Godfather’s family activities, that sort of solidarity and support is strangely attractive to modern humans who are largely but loose from their own extended families. The traditional functions of the family are to provide long-term personal intimacy, companionship, regulate sexual relations, ensure continuance of society through the birth and socialization of children, and to provide economic support for dependents and later, for the parents, through their children. The is also the institution where we learn to love ourselves and each other, bear one another’s burdens, find meaning in our lives and give purpose to others’ lives, an where we learn to feel the value of being part of something greater than ourselves. The men and women who, for good reasons and bad, revolt against the family, are for good reasons and bad, revolting against humankind. “The sins of some people are obvious, reaching the place of judgment ahead of them; the sins of others trail behind them. In the same way, good deeds are obvious, and even those that are not cannot be hidden,” reports 1 Timothy 5.24. #RandolphHarris 4 of 11

For the fortunate among us, that desire for a family and a good community, began with loving parents and siblings in a home that was equal parts refuge and laboratory for experimenting with our potential, our beliefs, and our identity. Those who had less than this ideal situation growing up still have the capacity to forge families of their own making. We can create places where children feel loved and supported, where they are taught that this life reflect what we previously had in Heaven, and that our families will be ours through eternity as long as we accept God and follow his commandments. Our Heavenly Father has the power to protect us, just as mortal parents do. However, sometimes God may step aside and allow us to learn from the consequences of our own decisions and actions. And our Heavenly Father provides us with rules that can teach us skills, the habits, and the values that will continue to shape our spiritual selves. It is our duty, even a sacred responsibility, to care for those in our family. We must provide and care for each other with love. We can follow Heavenly Father’s example by encouraging our loved ones in their trials, listening to their worries, cheering for them in their efforts and successes, and comforting them in their sorrows. Many people take pride in their family names and the heritage of honorable people they represent. “Every soul who belongs to human family shall stand before judgment-seat,” reports Mormon 3.20. #RandolphHarris 5 of 11

The economic institution has a tremendous effect on our socialization. Worldwide, materialism has become a major way of life for many. We often allow our environment to be exploited and polluted in other to produce cost efficient goods. And the rich are an elite considered inherently better than those with little or no money. There are only a few symptoms that indicate the power of the economic institution. All of us have seen the love of money change a person. Whether it be a Wall Street executive or the beneficiary of a life insurance policy or will. When people value money more than their family, friends, dignity, and spirituality, they become enslaved by it. The true danger of greed is that one becomes so obsessed with the object of his or her desire that it becomes the only thing that is important. Someone possessed by greed develops tunnel vision and, in that tunnel, they can see only their own selfish desire. Greedy people walk over the rights and needs of others and to them it is no big thing. They, along with their needs, are the only things that count. “The love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with may griefs. For this reason, I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands. For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline,” reports 1 Timothy 6.10 and 2 Timothy 1.6-7.  #RandolphHarris 6 of 11

Many people—especially the young—are questioning the power that economics has in the World today. They feel that pursuit of a materialistic way of life is a sellout. Ultimately, greed is a sign of emptiness. The throwaway culture of materialism has created the giant accumulation of plastic called the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, which contains at least 79,000 tons of discarded plastic, covering an area of about 617,800 square miles (1.6 million square kilometers). That is three times the area of France and more than twice the size of Texas. With technology and human civilization as advanced as it is, this is not something we should even see in our ocean. Also, swamps, marshes, and tidal shallows are irreplaceable areas of extraordinary value to the environment. Inland wetlands are natural regulators of water flow, soaking up rains that would otherwise cause floods and then releasing them slowly. And both are rich in life. A swamp is useless because it cannot be developed for commercial sites or industry and thus does not being in much tax revenue. Dump garbage in the swamp to fill it up. Or dredge out part f it and use the dredged up soil to fill the rest. Then you have a deep water right up to the bulkhead, a fine site for an industrial plant, marina or shopping center. So the theory goes. Because many youth are so against materialism and concerned with the environment, they have come into direct conflict with those who has experienced deprivation and have had to work hard for financial security. Because the mismatched values, some people feel like their parents view them as more of an economic liability or tax exemption than as a person. Some parents reinforce this fear in their children by continually reminding them how much they cost. We know of one man who actually presented his son with an accounting of all he had cost his parents since childhood—and demanded repayment within twenty years. Most parents do not expect to be paid back in money, but some demand total conformity in exchange of support. When a young adult begins to question his or her parents’ values, one may be forced out of the house. Or one may conform while one is around one’s parents, in order to keep a lace to sleep, food to eat, and the relative security of a family. If one, one may feel guilty because one is using one’s parents to get through school or for support. “Command those who are rich in this present Word not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. In this way, they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life,” reports 1 Timothy 6.17.19. #RandolphHarris 8 of 11

We know so far in our head, heart, guts, or whatever else we experience in life that being human is a very complex business. In is a business that involves pleasure—leisure, fun, enjoyment—as well as work, and both side of the coin are important for a full life. “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a work person who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth. Avoid godless chatter, because those who indulge in it will become more and more ungodly. Their teaching will spread like gangrene. They claim to know God, but by their actions they deny him. We know so far in our head, heart, guts, or whatever else we experience in life that being human is a very complex business. In is a business that involves pleasure—leisure, fun, enjoyment—as well as work, and both side of the coin are important for a full life. They are detestable, disobedient and unfit for doing anything good.” You must teach what is in accord with sound doctrine. Teacher the older people to be temperate, worthy of respect, self-controlled, and sound in faith. Likewise, teach the women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers nor addicted to much wine.  reports 2 Timothy 2.15-17 and Titus 1.16 and Titus 2.1-3. People who find benefits in working will have many useful things accomplished in their lives. Through work, we use the skills we possess not only to create new work—as invention gives rise to advanced technology—but new work may also create new skills that enhance the creative process. Many people also need some sort of creative activity (whether it be called work or not is debatable) to use up energy or restlessness. Work or a productive activity also keeps people occupied and out of mischief. If you do not believe that, look at the dilemma of a retired man who’s worked hard all his life and suddenly finds the hours and months dragging on. What experiences have you had that have shown you the importance of work? Not all of us can choose the kind of work we do. Some of us labor for long hours for the bare necessities. It is difficult to enjoy such work. Yet the happiness people have learned to enjoy their work, whatever it is. We also keep the work-World going by rewarding the worker—with a paycheck, an incentive system, fringe benefits, and labels. Let us realize that the privilege to work is a gift, the power to work is a blessing, the love of work is a success. People should be anxiously engaged in a good cause. We are cocreators with God. He gave us the capacity to do the work he left undone, to harness the energy, mine the ore, transform the treasures of the Earth for out good. One of the unfortunate consequences of seeing work as nobility and looking at it with pride is that such an attitude is to convince people that is an activity is enjoyable, then it is not work. “You are having such a good time on this job, maybe we will just have to change your duties or require you to work more hours so you will really earn your pay!” A boss would not ordinarily express this idea so clearly in words, but the implication is clear in what is said: to work is to suffer. However, that need not be; work can be enjoyable, and if it is, that aspect should not be condemned. Many of us have so sharply drawn the lines between work and leisure that most of the rewarding aspects of our work have been squeezed out. However, there is pleasure in turning out well made houses and furniture, seeing a patient smile when you let them know what is causing their infirmary and how to cure it, watching others use something you have put together or worked on, having someone benefit from your skill, time, labor. “Remind the people to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good, to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and to show true humility toward all people,” reports Titus 3.1-2. Celestial Intelligence by a Varying Additional Degree of Supernatural Illumination

 

 

Whether in paintings or on television, in books or movies, people have always had a fascination with angels, and angels absolutely exists. Angels are pure spirit, and in most cases, have no physical body. Angels do, however, take on human form sometimes, as clarified by Saint Thomas Aquinas in his Summa Theologica, and in the Bible. “See, I am sending an angel ahead of you to guard you along the way and to bring you to the place I have prepared. Pay attention to him and listen to what he says. Do not rebel against him; he will not forgive your rebellion, since my Name is in him. The human mind is right (rectus) when it has found truth, and above all, eternal truth. When it loves what is good, the human will is right, and the exercise of power is eight when it is a continuation of God’s ruling power. Since knowledge is involved at every stage of the return, reduction is also a quest for wisdom and hence, in an extended theological sense, it is metaphysical. It is an enlightened return, because every branch of learning is a gift from above, from the Father of the Lights. The natural light of reason reflects first on the external World and then turns inward in an analysis of the soul, it is perfected initially by a natural illumination of the divine ideas and then by a varying additional degree of supernatural illumination which culminate in the experiential cognition of God through mystical union. This experience is not the same as the clear vision of the blessed in Heaven but is the learned ignorance referred to by the mystical writers—a union of the soul of Go with darkness, granted to saints like Francis before death. #RandolphHarris 2 of 9

Now, too often we think of Angels, who are Heavenly bodies, in Earthly, bodily terms. However, they are not human and therefore not bound by human constraints. They exist to do the will of God, to be his messengers, guides, and defenders of truth. They exist for the sole purpose of praising God and carrying out his will. As pure spirits the Angels are created intelligences, altogether above matter and free from any essential relation to it, both in their existence and their operation. In this respect, the Angels are specifically above the human soul which, even though of a spiritual nature, is not a pure spirit and a complete nature, but is naturally ordained to inform a human body and to constitute one individual substance with it. Even though spiritual and immortal by nature, the human soul, in this life, depends in a very large measure on the human body for its operation. All the Angels are endowed with intellect and free will. They have a celestial intelligence. Knowledge is imparted to Angels through the light of glory. In some mysterious ways, when we know a created object, the human mind is simultaneously enlightened so that it is moved to judge correctly about the object and is hence in accord with God’s own mind on the subject. “I urge, then, first of all, that requests, made for everyone—for kings and all those in authority, that we may live in peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one mediator between God and humans, the Savior, who gave himself as a ransom for all people—the testimony given in its proper time. And for this purpose, I was appointed a herald and an apostle—I am telling the truth, I am not lying,” reports 1 Timothy 2.1-7. The human intellect can turn inward, reflecting on the soul and its tendencies. In analyzing the precise nature of the object of these tendencies, the mind discovers God and itself as his image. The reasoning process involved is neither deductive nor inductive in the usual meaning of these terms, but is called technically a reduction and seems to resemble in some respect the abduction. Abduction encompasses all the operations by which theories and conceptions are engendered (caused or given rise to). #RandolphHarris 4 of 9

Reasoning proceeds by progressively deepening insights into what the desire for truth and perfect happiness involve. If the reduction remains imperfect and does not go on to completion, God is no discovered and one may err about is nature or even his existence. The existence of God is truth implanted by nature in the human mind, this is referring to the human’s natural desire for knowledge, truth, happiness, or goodness—all of which need explication before human beings realize they have God as their ultimate object. “The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons (fallen angels). Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron. They forbid people to marry and order them to abstain from certain foods, which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and who know the truth. If it is received with thanksgiving, everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected because it is consecrated by the word of God ad prayer,” reports 1 Timothy 4.1-4. Even more interesting, experiments with human beings suggest that changes in behavior can alter emotional states. That is right: the act of smiling itself, whether triggered by perception or delight or not, can increase the release of endorphins, and cause the smiler to experience happiness as a result. #RandolphHarris 5 of 9

Similarly, the act of cowering, whether in response to a perceived threat or not, can prompt the production of stress hormones and the corresponding feeling of fright. Caught up in an altered state of consciousness, we bounce like Duncan yo-yos, allowing emotions or other external factors to spin us and unwind our mental mastery, then wind us back to the adversary’s hand, exploiting us and our emotional energy. This is called yo-yoing. So the secret is we need to change our perception of conditions, not just the conditions. The scriptures use a powerful illustration to teach us how to protect ourselves in the battle against evil. We learn that we are engaged in a battle against evil and that we must protect ourselves so that we can be victorious. “Put on the whole armour of God that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the adversary,” reports Ephesians 6.11. Examine your armor. Is there an unguarded or unprotected place? Determine now to add whatever part is missing. Through the great principle of repentance, we can turn our lives about and begin now clothing ourselves with the armor of God through study, prayer, and a determination to serve God and keep his commandments. #RandolphHarris 6 of 9

Once we have experienced a taste of reality, we can never revert back to a fear-based perception again Relapses there may be, particularly during the initial period of beginning to trust in the safety of Life. The general direction, however, is now known and literally nothing can stop the soul from joining with its Source. Even if our initial motive to seek was to escape from woes, the motive now is to seek reality for reality’s sake. To seek God for God’s sake, and nothing else. The seeker who succeeded in rising from false to true perception, who balanced within oneself the war of opposing forces still stands in the World, but it not of it. “Train yourself to be godly. For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come. This is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance (and for this we labor and strive), that we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all people, and especially those who believe. Command and teach these things. Do not let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith,” reports 1 Timothy 4.7-11. We have instructions on how to reconcile with the realm of separation, and, as a result of this, change our life from mediocrity to the song of the morning bird: the celebration of life. #RandolphHarris 7 of 9

The principal energy of life is love, in its state of union appearing as equilibrium, and that is harmony. On the physical plane this same energy appears polarized, split into its opposite reflections, masculine and feminine. Neither is better than the other, but both all-good. “Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to preaching and to teaching. Do not neglect your gift, which was given you through a prophetic message when the body of elders laid their hands on you. Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress. Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers,” reports 1 Timothy 4.13-15. Those who love, their love shall increase. And those who do not love, they shall lose the little they have. The more love we give, the more we shall have. This is not wishful thinking. Love, the all-pervading universal energy, can only be increased by sharing. By taking on the mental trappings of our goals, we come closer to that goal. What is so exciting about emotions as we reach maturity is that, knowing ourselves as well as we do, we can use our thought to shape our emotions just as our emotions have shaped our thoughts. In the first half of our lives, most of us give ourselves wholly to our joy (feeling sad when the joy goes away) or our sorrow (missing out on much of what was good in the meantime). #RandolphHarris 8 of 9

Our younger selves are, in effect, trapped by dominant emotions: the highs of youth are seductive and the lows appear inescapable. In maturity, thanks to a decrease in the self-protective impulse and advances in crystallized intelligence, we are better able to modulate our responses to a situation. We also can experience a whole symphony of dominant and nondominant feelings at once. Being able to feel happy and sad, hopeful and despairing at the same time is the hallmark of mature emotional response. This expansions in emotional capacity, coupled with our ability to trigger emotions via our behavior, gives us a chance at midlife to feel the way we choose to feel instead of being locked into some kind of emotional dungeon by the dictates of our brain chemistry. God delegated you to act in his name. We are all enlisted until the conflict is over. Soldiers in the army, there is a bright crown in store; we shall win and wear it by and by. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having the chest plate of righteousness. It is important that we make up our minds early in this life as to what we will do and what we will not do. We Return to God by Living an Upright Life

 

CaptureOne can have knowledge of the divine ideas, but the saddest aspect of life right now is that science gathers knowledge faster than society gathers wisdom. However, successful people recognize that in life they create their own love, manufacture their own meaning, and generate their own motivation. For instance, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s creative genius continued to flow despite his ill health and concerns about money; he was able to create even in the absence of the conditions most of us would consider basic for survival, and still he became a prolific and influential composer of the classical era. Passion is what moves a person to persevere at something despite fear, unhappiness or pain. It is the determination and motivation to push through suffering for the sake of an end goal. This kind of motivation is an inside out phenomenon, as it has an actual source in the brain. The part of the brain that is activated during motivated activities is the ventral striatum, in combination with the amygdala (known as the brain’s emotional center). Researchers observed that the ventral striatum is activated in proportion to how motivated a person feel: the higher the degree of motivation, the higher the activation level. When engaging in something that is truly meaningful, that feeling of intense creativity, or that feeling of euphoria is real and it is something physiological that happens within the brain. #RandolphHarris 1 of 7

Motivation does not simply give us the energy to work, but it allows us to entirely change our perception of everything that we so. Conversely, our change in perception will start to affect the types of long-term behavior in which we engage. As human creators, we must choose to undertake that crucial trial and error so that the greatest display of extraordinarily high levels of motivation and presentence will be mental skills that are more readily available to us. Creators, however, cannot rely on the environment to recognize successful trials and one must make these decisions effectively for the work to earn the environment’s approval.  Yet, we must evolve those criteria for ourselves, which most people neither can nor want to do, or the work will not be our own. Trying to anticipate how others might react hamstrings one’s ability to get on your one’s work and is probably hopeless because those reactions are unpredictable. Genius gives the rule. Its products are not governed by prevailing preferences; it introduces new ones, that others still developing their gifts then follow. Author Isaac Asimov wrote an astonishing number of books during his career—over three hundred. That is impressive, but what is truly encouraging to us in this context is the fact that he published the vast majority of his work after his fortieth birthday. “We speak of God’s wisdom, a wisdom that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began,” reports 1 Corinthians 2.7.  #RandolphHarris 2 of 7

If know can create problems, it is not through ignorance than we can solve them. In an effort to solve problems and activity our creative centers we have to learn the facts, practice techniques, and use our analytical minds as much as we can to get ready for our breakthrough. Using the strengths of our fluid and crystalized intelligence will give us an advantage in life. This work sets the stage for creativity, helps us recognize when it comes, and prepares us for perfecting our creative discoveries. Finding a vision can be challenging. It requires us to imagine that our goal has already been achieved. A vision works as a kind of magnet, drawing us closer and closer to realizing our dreams. God gave us the ability to dream, create and imaging. Dreaming is an act of faith. Everything we see on this planet started as a dream. If God’s blessing on our lives, situations that seem impossible will motivate us to pray more, believe more, trust more, and learn more so that we will grow. Faith always works in the realm of the impossible. May our dreams be on the verge of wakefulness, may we share in each other’s dreams, and may our individual dreams find expression and resolution in the ultimate dream of our people. “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for the who love him,” reports 1 Corinthians 2.9. #RandolphHarris 3 of 7

Whoever we are, or whatever it is that we do, when we really want something, it is because that desire originated in the soul of the Universe. It is our mission on Earth. Dreams are not silly nor selfish desires that should be ignored. Instead, they serve as the primary means by which people can get in touch with the mystical force that connects everything in the Universe. God has given ever man, woman, and child a dream; a deep-down desire to accomplish something of eternal significance. The more clearly we can articulate that dream, the closer we are to seeing it fulfilled. Most people improve their balance significantly when they envision someone helping them. This is a simple yet powerful demonstration of how maintaining a vision of what we desire will support us in accomplishing our goals. Even with our vision firmly in place, we will not achieve the results we desire unless we put ourselves in a creative frame of mind. Most research on activating the creative process suggest that changing the way we think is more important than any other factor in determining our ability to be creative. The proof of any creative endeavor is its outcome. Our future happiness, personal righteousness, and relationship with the Lord will depend in large part on the habits we embrace and the choices and commitments we make over the years. Regardless of our circumstances, we must take responsibility for who we now are and what we want to become. #RandolphHarris 4 of 7

The Lord only expects us to magnify and develop the talents and abilities we have been given. However, he also expects us to be accountable for our actions in doing so. We learn to dominate our physical needs early in life. That is what potty training is all about. Staying focused, disciplined, and committed to meaningful goals, both spiritual and temporal, is an important—in fact, and essential—key to our success here in this life and in the eternities to come. One of the greatest challenges for all of us is to learn how to live in the World without participating in all that it offers. Worldly standards will always be in a state of flux. The only true and unchanging standards are those set by the Savior. Unfortunately, frequent exposure to what at first is unacceptable will over time legitimize in our minds that which we have seen and heard. It is important that we do not because the victim of this seduction. We have to reflect on what an activity means to us, make sure it is righteous, and build our own motivation for doing it. There are very few people in the World who would shun the idea of success and fulfillment. We can succeed more efficiently when we do what we live. When an individual enjoys something, one has a natural tendency to work at it and become better at it. By doing so, we are effectively building new neural connections that keep multiplying as we keep working. Nature then becomes the mirror of God, reflecting his perfection in varying degrees.  #RandolphHarris 5 of 7

God created us to do something during our lives that only we can do. No other person can fulfill our unique assignment here on Earth. There is no other person to do that that has been exclusively designed for us. Realizing our God-given talents requires faith. Faith makes it possible for us to receive God’s best for our lives. God created us to have fellowship with him through the process of realizing our God-given dream. Our dreams are God seeking expression through us. God has provided each person with everything we need to accomplish our goals. God loves us, God has blessed everyone, and God has made provisions for our success in life. “For I know the plans I have for you, plans to proper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future,” reports Jeremiah 29.11. God has a future planned for us that includes prosperity, hope, and love. We have been given free will; we can choose to accept the future God has made available to us. Part of life’s success includes that person individuals become in the process of realizing one’s God-given dream.  All things are possible to the person who have faith. Faith accepts God’s promises and receives God’s rewards and blessings. “We have not received the spirit of the World, but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us,” reports 1 Corinthians 2.12. #RandolphHarris 6 of 7

Love activates our faith. Love is what empowers our faith to receive the rewards and blessings of God. Love is what energizes our faith to realize God-given dreams. Few people have a joy problem, but many complain they feel depressed. Others wonder aloud whether they are turning soft in their maturity: all of the sudden a simple act of kindness, or a news story of tragedy halfway around the World, has the power to bring tears to eyes that never used to cry. Then there are those who have felt so many strong emotions for so long that they fear they have become numb. All are relieved to learn tat these experiences are nature’s signs that they are ready to move to a new level of emotional depth, resilience, and spontaneity. Our intimacy with God grows deeper as our faith and love grow. The power twins, faith and love, will lead the way for our life-changing experience. God’s word will work superhuman power in us and produce result in our lives that are far over and above all that we dare ask or think, infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams. As we learn how to tap into the force that created the Universe, the same power that created the Heavens and the Earth will be available to help us realize our God-given dream. They Lining Up Like they are Trying to Get into Heaven–Worldwide they Gone Get a Taste!

 

Life has a purpose, and death is not the permanent end of our existence. The immortal soul, once freed from the body, is rewarded according to good deeds or punished for evil. The soul being eternal has had a pre-existence in the ideal World where it learned about the eternal Ideals. Humans are meant to attain goodness and return to the Ideal through the experiences of the transmigration of the soul. Our greatest awakening comes when we are aware about our infinite nature. The eternity of God is the full and perfect possession of endless life always present in its entirety, and the aevitenrity of the created Universe, without beginning or end but existing in the ever-changing succession of time. Aeveternity is the midpoint between time and eternity; the mode of being of the angles, saints, and celestial bodies (which mediaeval astronomy believes to be unchanging). It is an infinite past and future totality, in which events are contained in a matrix, like files in amber. God in eternity has a simultaneous vision of all temporal reality, and he sees dree acts as free. In human beings the form (esse) is mentally separable from the substance (id quod est), whereas in God his being is identical with that which is.  God demands nothing of human beings without at the same time giving them the power to comply with the demands to follow his scriptures. “The Lord will surely visit all,” reports 1 Nephi 19.11. #RandolphHarris 1 of 7

The innermost being of the soul is like a vessel into which flows the spirit of God (the life of grace) if the soul by virtue of its freedom opens itself to this vital influx. And the spirit of God is meaning and power. God imparts the soul a new life that makes it capable of doing things to which by its own nature it would be totally inadequate, and he simultaneously gives a definite direction to the soul’s activity. Therefore, every meaningful demand which is made upon the soul with obligatory force is a word of God. For there is no meaning that does not have its eternal home and abode in the Logos (Savior). And anyone who willingly receives such a word of God simultaneously receives the divine power to comply with the demand. Every increase in grace, however, leads in addition to a strengthening of the human being’s spiritual being and opens up to the soul a richer and more penetrating insight to the divine word, into the supernatural meaning that underlies every event and that becomes articulate in the interiority of the soul as an inspiration. This is why a soul which, by virtue of its freedom, leans upon the spirit of God or upon the life of grace and is capable of total renovation and transformation. It is a free activity, borne and sustained by the life of grace, and wilding power over all the involuntary acts of the soul. Truth and virtuous living are the norms of nature. There is nothing freer than love. Love is the height of freedom, as it is an irresistible elemental force engulfing the soul. And the soul really does respond to the impression it receives from human beings—sometimes at the first meeting, at other times after prolonged acquaintance—in an involuntary manner: with affection, with aversion, or possibly with indifference. The soul feels itself attracted or repelled. And these attitudes may be thoroughly meaningful expressions of the soul’s encounter with a being foreign to its own. The soul feels attracted to a person by whom it expects to be assisted and benefited, and it shrinks back from a person who seems to endanger its own being. And yet in such involuntary reactions there is ample room for grave self-delusions and misjudgments. Outward appearances may hide the true being of a person and thus veil the significance which one person has for the other. Such natural inclinations and aversions are therefore neither to be passed over lightly, not is it reasonable simply to give into them. They can and must be influenced by the will. The free play of the inclinations and aversions are subject to human reason investigating the natural causes and principles of the Universe, whereas sometimes we rest on supernatural revelation and miracles of God. #RandolphHarris 3 of 7

Human reason is fallible and often comes to only probable conclusions. Even when its conclusions seem necessary, if they are contrary to revealed doctrine they are not true. In these cases truth is on the side of revelation and not on the side of reason. For example, the philosophical conclusion that the World is eternal must give way to the revealed truth that the World was created in time. Intermediate in reality are space, time, and causality as organizing forms of collective experience. Tensions develop—not within, but among, entities and processes—when a dynamic equilibrium is disturbed. The tensions are resolved when the equilibrium is restored. Synthesis and harmony as more permanent and productive than opposition and conflict. Our personal growth objectives are to be at peace with our past mistakes and transgressions. We must also stand up for ourselves in our families, stop second-guessing our relevance, and to allow our faith to develop the full potential we can reach as human beings. Upheaval is an opportunity to learn how to come with stressful crises, become more spiritual, and find more meaning in life. When we feel the first stirrings of change in our hearts and minds, it means we have taken stock of our desires and aptitudes and have set some exciting goals for our mortal journey. Surrendering to the process is an aspect of letting go and letting God. Through this process, we get used to the chaos in our minds, as it is a sign and period of personal growth by which we use as our journey through multiple levels of the psyche. Whatever we discover will most likely confuse us and we should expect that, but as revelation happens we will delight in the experience. God will make possible what would be naturally impossible. Love is the motive force of thinking. The fervor of our own love urges us to an ever more rigorous exertion of our intellect.  We do not rest satisfied with a solution we have found, but try to penetrate deeper and deeper. And because of this inquiry we start out from the inner life, and assign to love an important part in the work of knowledge. In this thinking we delve deeply into love because of our conviction that love is for us the way that leads to a knowledge of the Holy Trinity. Those who abide in live, abide in God. The Word we have made as a result of the level of thinking we have done thus far creates problems that we cannot solve at the same level at which we created them. Therefore, those who gain a correct knowledge of love will advance to a knowledge of God. Using the rewards of mental mastery—working smarter instead of harder—then we will realize that our job is to guide others toward success, not solve problems for them. Self-conscious of the Absolute Spirit simply wants to equate love and will. One places long desire in the will and thus desire is something in the nature of love, and the desire turns into love when desiring thing, for example knowledge, has been attained. And there no doubt exists a close relationship between love and will. The one who loves feels the urge to fulfill the commandments of God: one desires to confront one’s own will to the will of God. The will grows out of love, and from willing springs action. In fulfilling the divine commandments, however, we gain a deeper knowledge of God, and thereby in turn our love increases. And while love for its part seeks to gain ever deepening knowledge, it is from the very outset not possible to have love without having knowledge. Love comprises in itself knowledge and presupposed a certain kind of knowledge. The spiritual life is an ascending life, and every basic form of spiritual life conditions by its own ascent the ascent of the other forms and is in turn stimulated and further advanced by these other forms. It is precisely the inextricable junction and simultaneous difference of these basic forms of spiritual life that makes them an image of the triune God. The logical principle of noncontradiction loses its validity in this formulation: rational thought must proceed by the highest rational unit, the Idea or the Absolute Spirit, and by use of deduction discover the sense of reality and explain the connection of appearances. #RandolphHarris 6 of 7

Compassion and benevolence is founded on reason alone. For humans this is the best of all possible Worlds, despite the sufferings. However, we keep our faith and hope and pray for a better World because the central insight is that without optimistic reference to a sustaining reality, without the confidence, life would be utterly impossible. None of us could function in daily life without the ability to filter out unwanted stimuli and focus on what is important. Like many skills, however, this skill is usually overdeveloped by the time most of us reach maturity. What is essential to our ability to become productive in society is now so automatic that we miss out on a lot that life has to offer. Now that we know how to screen out the junk, we probably need to go back and reevaluate exactly what it is we want to screen out. When people take risks, we usually see a great improvement in the area involved. And if we take a risk and it does not work out, we can always pray to God to find out why it did not work out. However, many people have actually been trained to ignore success and punish failure, all in the interest of their company. Yet, rewarding, and learning from success is more helpful to everyone in the company than hunting out weakness. When we think about it, we all make a habit of selective noticing. “Now all this has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of humans. For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil,” reports Ecclesiastes 12. 12-13. #RandolphHarris 7 of 7

Our Earthly life is most exalted, most sacred, most divine, most religious. However, if the spirit be defiled and corrupted, even a manifestly holy life is not more than gross blasphemy. All hinges on how we keep the spirit, pure or impure. The basis of the dialectic created by jealousy is the gap between action and its realization. One cannot in one’s actions equal what one oneself demands, and so there is in life a permanent dissatisfaction set up by the contrast between action and the realization at which it aims. This impels an individual to further action, and in the effort to close the gap, one needs expansion of action in terms of an ever wider outreach. When self-regarding action passes over into various forms of social action, and these in turn come to their limit in the highest type of moral action—that which aims at the good of all human kind if released and an individual is able to satisfy one’s desires by working hard to earn what they want. However, although this process partially overcomes the contrast between action and its realization, it never does so completely, and the gap reappears at each stage after a goal is accomplished. There is no immanent solution to the problem of action. However, we have seen already that an affirmative solution is demanded, and the demands of action itself point us from the immanent to the transcendent or supraphenomenal (someone or something extraordinary). The heart holds the key which opens either the portal of sensuality or that of spirituality. In fact, these different portals do not exist objectively. The Universe is one and the same for the just as well as for the unjust, but they approach it from various points of view and colour it with their own inner pigment. Some are ignorant and selfish, and they interpret life accordingly. Others are simple-hearted and defilement-free, and thus they read the World. Conventionally, a distinction is made between the two Worlds, supraphenomenal and phenomenal, or sensual and spiritual, or Worldly and saintly; in reality this is our own creation. Let us be free from delusion and things will present themselves in their own true colour and form. If God speaks his word in the soul, one must be at rest and at peace, and then the Lord will be free to bless us with his wisdom. God is immanent within the individual, in the sense that human action is already directed beyond the phenomenal order. To will all that we do is already to have the action of God within us. Yet this quest for realization would be a frustrating one were it not that God in turn moves toward us in his transcendence, and human action is supported and supplemented by divine grace. Since action is concrete, the beliefs that arise out of action and the experience of acting are not abstract formulations. It is in action that we apprehend God, but if we try to imprison him in a proposition or prove his existence by logical demonstration, he escapes us. #RandolphHarris 2 of 9

Thought and action are never rival principles, but are at all times to be taken together. Action is no bind drive, but always includes thought; thought can attain its philosophical goals only as it remains closely associated with action. Thus, when we reconsider the rational proofs of theism, these proofs are possible only on the basis of a prior affirmation of God that has arisen out of our experience as active beings. To say that one speaks by supernatural inspiration, is to say one finds an ardent desire to speak, or some strong opinion of oneself, for the which one can alledge no natural reason; one that believe a thing only because it may be so, may as well doubt of it, because it may be otherwise. Also, do not always let facts blind one to the truth. Facts can overshadow the truth. The facts we receive regarding gender may not always represent God’s truth regarding men and women. Though a billion dollar industry works to persuade us otherwise, the truth is, the sex is not the highest good in life. The truth is God’s purposes for human beings far exceeds narrow gender stereotypes. Men and women who are born of the Spirit are not limited by human gender-constructs. For this reason, many religious women have, throughout history, fanned into flame God’s gifts within them, much like how Aaliyah was denied a record deal on Star Search, but rose above the limitations placed on the female gender and became a successful sing, actress, model, and business woman. #RandolphHarris 3 of 9

Embracing God’s truth regarding their value and worth, many women of faith are not bound by gender roles. Rather, as God equipped, impassioned, and enabled their service, these strong-hearted daughters of God have pioneered many gospel inroads around the World. As we reflect their lives, let us consider the outcome of their way of life and honor their faith. How often do you take time to simply reflect upon God? If we reflect that the Spirit of God is the only fountain of truth, we will be careful, as we would avoid offering insult to him, not to reject or condemn truth wherever it appears. The Scripture is our sole source of normative, infallible apostolic revelation and all things necessary for salvation and concerning faith and life are taught in the Bible with enough clarity that the ordinary believer can find them there and understand. God is the truth in its absolute fullness. He, therefore, is the primary, the original truth in all truth. The Lord is the architect of truth and the origin of the knowledge of truth in all areas of life. True perception is not a boring task, for while we practice we discover an entirely new World. It can be quit exciting. We can state with small things. True perception embraces the situation, face it with meaning, and welcomes it as an opportunity to choose a greater reality. God is a God who reveals. God himself is true and cannot lie. Therefore, all that he reveals, whether through general revelation in his creation or through special revelation is Scripture is necessarily true. #RandolphHarris 4 of 9

God is the God who creates. He is the Maker of Heaven and Earth and all that is within them. This fact is closely related to the first, because God reveals certain things about himself through creation. In order for us to correctly see that revelation about God in his creation, we have to accurately grasp the nature of what the Lord has created. If we misread what is actually there, we will misrepresent God. It is also worth observing that God’s creation is real and not an illusion, and God created human beings with the ability to learn about and have true knowledge of what the Lord has created. This ability was impacted by the Fall, but it was not completely destroyed. Scripture regularly assumes that people have the ability to learn about creation. Humans are expected to draw true conclusions about God and reality based on our observations of creation. There are in Scripture stories that do exceed the Fables of Poets. Such as the conversation between Eve and the Serpent, and his questions as to how out of only one rib a woman’s whole body could be built, and what language Adam spoke in the first hour of his nativity in naming the animals. As we have learned created things are what they are because God willed them to be a certain way rather than another. When we learn something about creation that corresponds with what God actually made, we have learned something true. God is the source of these truths by virtue of the fact that he is the Creator. #RandolphHarris 5 of 9

The serpent has a sweet and persuasive song about love, and it took over Eve’s mind. He got deep in her heart by touching her emotions and took control of her. He made her change as he became part of her. He told her they could get married and have two kids and she could still be a good woman. Eve quickly gave the serpent her heart and soul, she said it meant nothing to her. The serpent’s love pulled Eve deep into a spell. It spent her mind around like a carousel. She did not know where it was coming from, she never knew she could love him so much, and things just happened. True love took hold of her. Time stood still. The serpent would appear at the worst and even the best of times. Her heart was no longer her own, she could not control her emotions and passions. No longer a faithful girl with a good heart and good intentions—she never wanted to leave her house, but there were no preventions because she was deep in his hypnotic spell. Once, Eve had the purest heart and the finest attitude, but the serpents love had taken over her. When she went home, she could not understand how Adam looked the same as the picture by their bed. The suspense was pounding and clouding up her head. His body was exactly the same, he slept in the same place, but she did not know who he was. Then she realized that there had been a stranger in her house. It took her a while to figure it out. #RandolphHarris 6 of 9

However, she knew Adam was someone else because of the way he touched her, and the way he treated her was not as passionate as the shape shifting serpent. The serpent used to adore her, but Adam ignored her. She demanded, “Show me who you are! I do not see your shadow around when you walk. You are leaving no kisses. Goodbye with no words. If these walks could talk, they would have nothing to tell. So what could it be? Is there someone imitating me? Could she be taking my place. Adam, look me in the face and tell me that I am wrong when I say there is a stranger in my house.” The serpent adored Eve. And she asked Adam where they first kissed. He did not know. He did not know her and did not initially taste the forbidden fruit, until Even told him how much she loved it. However, after Eve convinced Adam to have the forbidden fruit, he had changed so drastically that she was convinced the he was not who he said he was. “Adam, you have to be someone else,” Eve said. However, she did not realize she has been tricked by the serpent. She has become like a bird without a song as her lonely tears fell. Then God cursed the Serpent, the Woman, and the Man, and expelled the Man and Woman from the garden and thereby from eternal life. God is the one who has decreed whatsoever comes to pass, and this is the basis of historical truths. As used in the scriptures, to atone is to suffer the penalty for sins, thereby removing the effects of sin from the repentant sinner and allowing him or her to be reconciled to God. The Savior was the only one capable of carrying out the Atonement for all humankind. Because of the Savior’s Atonement, all people will be resurrected, and those who obey the gospel will receive the gift of eternal life with God. As descendants of Adam and Eve, all people inherit the effects of the Fall. In our fallen state, we are subject to opposition and temptation. When we give in to temptation, we are alienated from God, and if we continue in sin, we experience spiritual death, being separated from the Lord’s presence. As far as we know, we are all subject to a temporal death, at this time, which is the death of the physical body. The only way for us to be saved is for someone else to rescue us. We need someone who can satisfy the demands of justice—standing in our place to assume the burden of the Fall and to pay the price for our sins. The Savior has always been the only one capable of making such a sacrifice. Some people, like the hedonistic leaders and the savage fake news media, might try to conceal their sins by torturing and blaming someone else for them, thinking they can force someone to atone for their sins, and the can be saved. However, that is not true and it may damn them to hell for all of eternity. “To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto Me? I am full of the burnt offerings of rams and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks or of lambs or of he-goats (offered without repentance),” reports Isaiah 1.11. The Savior already redeemed all people from the effects of the Fall. All people who have ever lived on the Earth and who ever will live on the Earth will be resurrected and brought back into the presence of God to be judged. And although we are redeemed unconditionally from the universal effects of the Fall, we are accountable for our own sins. However, if we repent and stop sinning, we can be forgiven and cleansed from the stain of sin at our doors. The souls is corporeal and is the form of the body. It is separable from the body both in life and at death. It possesses unity, and its function is to vivify the extended matter of the body. The soul is not only responsible for mental or psychological functions like thought, perception and desires, and it is the bearer of moral qualities. The soul is also vital for functions that any living organism performs. There is a hierarchy of levels of organisms from living molecules to multicellular individuals and supraindividual aggregates. The whole of nature is a tremendous architecture in which subordinate systems are united at successive levels into higher and larger systems. Essences and existence are not really distinct principles in things but are merely distinguished in thought. The powers of the soul are not distinct faculties; intellect is the soul understanding, will is the soul desiring and loving. Our conscious activities entail some use of will. Humans are viewed as a volitional rather than as a rational animal. Volition looks very different from the first-person compared with the third-person perspective. From the third-person perspective, human volitional behaviour is clearly on a continuum with volitional behaviour in other species. Many creatures, including invertebrates, behave in ways that are not totally constrained by the immediate environment. In other words, the behaviour is generate from the inside. Many creatures can behave unpredictably and even randomly. Humans differ only in that they have a greater flexibility in the endogenous generation of behaviour, especially in relation to novel behaviour. From this point of view, the idea of a uniquely human form of volition involving free will does not seem very plausible. #RandolphHarris 1 of 9

In contrast, at least in contemporary western cultures, when we take a first-person perspective, we are often vividly aware of being the author of and therefore responsible for our actions. We can also be acutely aware of making choices and strongly believe that we could have done otherwise. This difference between first-and third-person perspectives also influences our attitude to our own actions and those of others. Each of us believes that our own lives are more driven by free will than are the lives of others. My behaviour is driven by my intentions and desires, while yours is driven by your personality, the situation and various unconscious biases. It is the first-person aspect of volition that is uniquely human. We can only study this aspect of volition because people can describe their experiences. This is an ability found only in humans. If our experience of action can be altered by teaching and instructions, then we would expect that the experience of agency might be different in different cultures. Indeed, as we have seen, there is some preliminary evidence for this based on the way in which agency and responsibility are talked about and how punishment is linked to action in some cultures. Moral goodness consists in volitional conformity to God’s will. The obligatory force of law has no basis in the nature of created things, but is solely due to the fact that God has willed a certain action to be right. This is moral and legal voluntarism. God could command that a person deceive another through a lie, and one would not sin. #RandolphHarris 2 of 9

Effect of culture on the experience of action depend on two mental phenomena. First, that we can reflect on our own experiences and absolutely enjoy discussing them with others and second, that our introspections about these experiences are very unreliable. It is precisely because of this unreliability of introspection that experiences can be changed through discussion. One effect of discussion could be to make our introspection more accurate and reliable. For example, through discussion of their visual experience, two people could arrive at a more accurate representation of the World than the best working on one’s own. In the same way, through discussion with others, we might come to a more accurate account of the sources of our actions than we can achieve on our own. This idea seems plausible, given that others may be more aware, than we ourselves, of the various biases that affect our own behaviour. However, the effects of culture on our experience need not necessarily lead to a more accurate account of the cognitive process that generate our actions. For example, we can doubt whether our experience of being a causal agent and, hence, of being responsible for the outcomes of our actions accurately reflects the process underlying our actions. Nevertheless, this experience is extremely important for generating social cohesion and advantages for the group. Perhaps, in this case, we should dispense with accuracy. #RandolphHarris 3 of 9

Possible thins are not absolute beings in an independent realm of ideas, but they depend for their existence on God’s understanding (not on his will). It is a part of God’s essence to think possible things as they are, but they are, only in so far as God thinks them. Humans start out as an isolated intelligence in an alien nature, but the imagination creates a World in its own image, the World of cities and gardens and human communities and domesticated animals. The Bible is a definitive parable of human existence, as it tells how humans find themselves in an unsatisfactory World and try to build a better one—one which eventually takes the form of a splendid golden city, the symbol of the imaginative and creative human community. God is the creative power in human beings, and human power is divine because it is infinite and eternal. These two words to not mean endless in time and spaces; they mean the genuine experience of the central points of time and space, the now and there. Mental things are alone real; but this doctrine of God takes us far beyond the subjective idealism and nominalism of traditional theology. The creation—the alien and stupid nature with the fake news that creates a frenzy in society that we now live in—is part of the fall and is the World human struggle to transcend. The objective World is the anticreation, the enemy to be rehabilitated. #RandolphHarris 4 of 9

No person is distinct from his or her soul. The corporeal understanding, or perverted human activity, contemplates nature as it is (as a vast, objective, subhuman body) and tries to overcomes the alienation of the subject by identifying the subject with nature as it sees nature. Nature is controlled, apparently, by automatic laws like the law of gravitation and by a struggle to survive in which force and cunning are more important that love or intelligence. Perverted human life imitates nature by continually waging war and by maintaining a parasitic class. Perverted religion invents harsh and tyrannical gods on the analogy of nature. Perverted thought exposes itself passively to impressions from the external World and then evolves abstract principles out of these impressions which attempt to formulate the general laws of nature. These are operations known as sensation and reflection. The abstracting tendency is perverted because it is not a genuine effort to understand nature, but is a step toward imitating the automatism of nature by imposing a conforming morality on human life. The principle of this conformity is the acceptance of injustice and exploitation as inescapable elements of existence. The end of this perverted process is hatred and contempt of life, as expressed in the deliberate efforts at self-annihilation, which has manifested in the past with the Napoleonic wars. #RandolphHarris 5 of 9

We should be very concerned with the conflict of these creative and perverted states in human life. The sense of conservatism, of accepting things as they are, is symbolized by Urizen, who is associated with antiquated age and the sky. It is a soul-shuddering vacuum, but unknown, abstracted brooding in secret with hidden dark powers. Times on times he has divided and measured space in his nine-fold darkness. Unseen, unknown changed appeared for he strives in battles dire in unseen conflicts with shapes bred from his forsaken wilderness. When conservatism deepens into hatred of life itself, Urizen is replaced by a more powerful adversary. The force that struggles against Urizen is the revolutionary impulse in humanity called Orc or Luvah, who is associated with youth and sexual desire. Orc cannot achieve a permanent deliverance from Urizen; that is possible only for the creative power itself called Los. The central theme of the prophecies is the effort of humanity, called Albion, to achieve through Los the kind of civilization which is symbolized in the Bible as Jerusalem and thus to reach the integration of human and divine powers represented in Christianity by the Savior. By including both satisfaction and fulfillment in the definition of goodness, we hope to provide for feeling on one hand and reason on the other and, in this way, to resolve the dialectical tension outlined in society. #RandolphHarris 6 of 9

It is not fear that holds us prisoner—it is we who hold fear prisoner. By releasing the prisoner the jailer may walk free. Unification is inclusive and not exclusive. While here on our mortal probation, every desire we have is known to our Source before the personality Self is even aware of it. We enhance the fulfillment of thee desires by giving them equal value to anything else. This way our happiness does not depend on them. Now, they are freed and can gush forth and embrace us in return with their lushness. Anything that would not add value to life could then not manifest as our experience, for any discordant energy having been unified, has become harmonious energy. Only what is not valued. If we do not want the experience, it will never come. Nevertheless, it wants to be valued as an equal part of life. “Therefore, cheer up your hearts, and remember that you are free to act for yourselves—to choose the way of everlasting death or the way of eternal life. Wherefore, my beloved people, reconcile yourselves to the will of God, and not to the will of the adversary and the flesh; and remember, after you are reconciled unto God, that it is only in and through the grace of God that you are saved. Wherefore, may God raise you from death by the power of the resurrection, and also from everlasting death by the power of the atonement, that you may be received into the eternal kingdom of God, that you may praise him through grace divine. When we come to understand what is essential in this life and in the next, it becomes easier to lighten our load. We eliminate excess, set priorities, and reduce distractions that could get us stunk in a difficult situation while other opportunities and people move on. If we are weighed down with guilt, despair, sin, and sadness, it is time to set these things aside and fill our carts with faith, hope, and a regular renewal of our covenants with God. The manifestations of the gift of the Holy Ghost are very seldom manifested publicly, but most generally it has been to individuals in private, in their chambers in the wilderness or fields, and that generally without noise or tumult. Unfortunately, our World is filled with lots of noise and lots of tumult. The adversary knows the greatest leverage point is in that quiet space, so he or she tried to separate us from those moments. Unless we make the time and effort to extract ourselves from the distractions and the noise, the voice of the Spirit may not get through to us. It is important for us to find a quiet place where we can regularly go Humble ourselves before God. Pour out our hearts to our Heavenly Father. Turn to the Lord for answers and for comfort. The Lord loves us and is involved in every detail of our life. As we are intentional about seeking the Lord every day, he will bless us. The Lord will renew us, and he will grant us peace. “For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance,” reports 1 Thessalonians 1.5. As we search, pray, and believe, we will recognize miracles in our lives and become miracle workers in the lives of others. In a sense al of us are in the middle of our own novels, our own life stories. Sometimes our stories feel very intense, and we would like to read ahead to know our own end, to make sure that everything is going to turn out all rights. While we do not know the particular details of our life’s experience. If we live worthily, fortunately we do know something about our futures. “If we walk righteously, search diligently, pray always, and be believing, and all things shall work together for your good,” reports Doctrines and Covenants 90.24. This promise comes from a tender, caring Father who desires to bless us and give us reason to have faith through our Earthly journey. Knowing that eventually all thing will work together for our own good will help us endure affliction like the faithful people from the scriptures. Created spirits are responsible for only a small part of the movement in the World, and therefore God, the infinite spirit, must be its prime source. And so natural philosophy either presupposed the knowledge of God or borrows it from superior science. Matter was created by God. Eternal Ideas are assimilated with God’s mind or the divine providence; but although they are immanent in the mind of God, they are also a created effect. They are eternal, but not coeternal with God. Only three persons of the Trinity are both coequal and coeternal. Ideas subsist in the mind of God and the copies of these Ideas are concreted with matter. God is transcendent. “If you shall say there is no law, you shall also say there is no sin. If you shall say there is no sin, you shall also say there is no righteousness. And if there is no righteousness nor happiness there be no punishment nor misery. And if these things are not, there is no God. And if there is no God we are not, neither the Earth; for there could have been no creation of things, neither to act nor to be acted upon; wherefore, all things must have vanished away,” reports 2 Nephi 2.12-13. As we humble ourselves, we turn to God with humility and love, and our will, with divine help, can reach perfect accord with the divine will. The divine Word can then teach us (infused knowledge) and move us (infused love) in an intimate union sometimes momentarily experienced as ecstasy. Emotion always precedes wisdom, for it affords experience, without which, thought would not mature into truth. Hence the necessity to embrace one’s emotions in preference to suppressing them. For a human being to adapt to a rapidly-changing World, one needs the companionship and support of other with whom one may sometimes disagree, but nevertheless feel a fundamental bond of like-mindedness. “And now, my people, I speak unto you these things for your profit and learning; for there is a Go, and he hath created all things, both the Heavens and the Earth, and all thing things that in them are, both things to act and things to be acted upon. And to being about his eternal purposes,” reports 2 Nephi 2.14-15. We have been born in an important age of kaleidoscopic experiments, adventures and clashes, not only between the virtues and vices, as formerly, but rather between virtues themselves. The old virtues have begun to lose their authority; they are no longer able to fulfill the religious, moral, intellectual and social demands of the contemporary soul. By allowing ourselves to embrace all our emotions, which we reject or suppress, therefore judge, we free ourselves from their weight—we become lighter. We become enlightened. Each time we to this, and remain faithful unto God’s words, we choose eternal life, according to the will of God’s Holy Spirit. “And not choose eternal death, according to the will of the flesh and the evil which is therein, which giveth the spirit of the adversary power to captivate, to bring us down to hell, that he or she may reign over us in his or her own kingdom,” reports 2 Nephi 2.29. We can learn a lot from the water. It does not fear or hate the rock, it does not resist it either. In this sense the act of embracing should be understood. To embrace then is to love whatever we face back into life. We have the right to be however we wish—it is our choice. However, we certainly have the same right to be here on Earth and honor God. Scriptures are like packets of light that illuminate our minds and give place to guidance and inspiration from on high. We feel the power of your prayers. We need them, and we thank you for them. Our Father in Heaven understood that for us to make desired progress during our mortal probation, we would need to face difficult challenges. God provided us the tools to help us be successful in our mortal probation. Throughout the ages, Father in Heaven has inspired select men and women to find, through the Holy Ghost, solutions to life’s most perplexing problems. He has inspired his children to have faith in his plan of happiness. Because scriptures are generated from inspired communication through the Holy Ghost they are pure truth. We need not be concerned about the validity of concepts contained in the standard works since the Holy Ghost has been the instrument which has motivated and inspired those individuals who have recorded the scriptures. They can become the key to open the channel of communion with our Father in Heaven. when they are cited correctly, the scriptures provide the strength of authority to our declarations. Their use provides a foundation of truth that can be awakened by the Holy Ghost. Learning, pondering, searching, and memorizing scriptures is like filling a filing cabinet with friends, values, and truths that can be called upon anytime, anywhere in the World. “For the Lord God hath said that: Inasmuch as we shall keep his commandments, we shall prosper in the land; and as must as we will not keep his commandments we shall be cut off from his presence,” reports 2 Nephi 4.4. Great power can come from memorizing the scriptures. To memorize a scripture is to forge a new friendship. #RandolphHarris 4 of 6

The soul has three powers: the intellect, the will, the heart. elf-mastery is the ultimate test of our character, and it is essential to invoke the power of God. This is because this great, divine agency can only be exercised in righteousness. Self-mastery requires self-determination and strength of character. It enhances our own gifts and talents in a remarkable way. It is the power of a noble humanity. Every human soul has the challenge of controlling his or her thoughts, appetites, speech, temper, and desires. Our Father in Heaven knows all of these latter-day dangers, these troubles of the heart and the soul, and has given counsel and protections regarding them. The Lord is moving with power in his church for us to obtain the education he wants us to have. To help people become saved, we need to declare truths in solemnity of heart, in the spirit of meekness. When we do so, the Holy Ghost will be shed forth. Through the development of the late power in the soul, more and more works of wonder are happening. Among them there are some which are very supernatural and miraculous. “We did observe to keep the judgments, and the statues, and the commandments of the Lord in all things. And the Lord was with us; and we did prosper exceedingly; for we did sow seed, and we did reap again in abundance,” reports 2 Nephi 5.10-11. By having faith in God, we can go beyond our barriers and become everything God created us to be, and we will have everything the Lord intended for us to have. “Love the Lord, your God, with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind,” reports Matthew 22.37. Acrid bitterness inevitably seeps into the lives of people who harbor grudges and suppress anger, and bitterness is always a poison. It keeps the pain alive instead of letting one deal with it and get beyond it. Bitterness sentences one to relive the hurt over and over. With the power of the soul anything is possible. Happiness is a choice and an energy we can cultivate on a daily basis. We have to do our best to live in high vibration energy like love, peace, fun and joy—for our own well-being and fulfillment. Although we do not have control over everything we do in life, we still can make choices that are loving and kind. It is important to feel good about our choices, and to make them with the right energy, heart, joy and permission. As we do this, we will practice gratitude, which is incredibly power. By expressing gratitude, we are thankful for what we have and will attract more great things in the future.
