Real Buzz on Real Biz—Fly me to the Moon

Time goes forward, and you go round. Speak to the point. You can become the star of the hour if you make the minutes count. Success is not measured by what a man or woman accomplishes, but by the opposition one has encountered, and the courage with which one has maintained the struggle against overwhelming odds. In truth, there are no elevators to the top.

If you want to make it there, you have got to take a long series of steps. How many steps you are willing to take—and how long you are willing to keep climbing—determines how high you will go. Eloquence is a native gift of Rebecca Jarvis; it comes from her lips without effort and without preparation. Her word are sublime as her deeds, as sublime as her character; they have their source in a great heart and are coined in a great brain.

Every worthwhile accomplishment has a price tag attached to it. The question is always whether you are willing to pay the price to attain it—in hard work, sacrifice, patience, love, faith, and endurance. Everything was dead quiet, and it looked late, and smelt late. You know what I mean—I do not know the words to put in. Everlasting flame, or everlasting dishonor—nothing between!

Extremes inevitably meet. The bear can dance, and the monkey, which is one of the most sportive, if not the most formidable, is one of the most malignant of the wild tribes of the forest. A frivolous people are apt to be a savage people; and the most determined Golden State Warrior prefers the looking-glass worn about their necks to any other ornament.

The eye, though it does not tell all, tells much. It is the key of character, the mirror of the soul. Thou lookest far into eternity, with those bright eyes! Then tell me what thou seest? I have been blameless before him and have kept myself from sin. The LORD has rewarded me according to my righteousness, according to the cleanness of my hands in his sight.

To the faithful you show yourself authentic, to the blameless you show yourself innocent, to the pure you show yourself righteous, but to the crooked, you show yourself shrewd. As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is flawless. He is a shield for all who take refuge in him. For who is God besides the LORD? He parted the Heavens and came down; dark clouds were under his feet.

You are to be in all things regulated and governed by fact. We hope to have, before long, a board of fact, composed of commissioners of fact, who will force the people to be a people of fact, and of nothing but fact. You must discard the word Fancy altogether. You have nothing to do with it. Men and ladies who can talk freely, but do nothing, fail in everything they attempt.

There is too much vision mixed with the fact. Failure after long perseverance is much grander than never to have a striving good enough to be called a hindrance. This is not a neurosis or an excuse. At least I hope it is not. It is, I suspect, just life the way it has worked out for me. I am obviously not ruthless enough in rejecting the demands that other people, often people I have never seen, make on my time.

Like any writer who makes some kind of name, I find my mail heavy with letters from admirer of my work and aspiring people seeking my help and advice. I confess I can no more leave a letter unanswered than I can leave the telephone ringing or shut the door in someone’s face.

IMG_20151001_014727

I also find it impossible to dismiss with a bare acknowledgment a letter on any subject that interests me; a reply which starts out to be a short note more often than not expands into a four page typewritten letter, enclosed with a kiss, and encourages a prolonged exchange of correspondence. So a substantial part of my time and energy goes into the writing of letters and it adds not a single tangible element of career advancement to my literary output.

The most energetic person might consider this to be a full hand, but the best excuses I am able to find do not satisfy me. And that is where the Urian blood took over. When my forebears wished to pioneer a new piece of country in the New World they did not sit round thinking about it until the obstacles looked insuperable; they went out and did it. In the same way I am excited to sit down and write these letters with passion and excitement and gratitude.

My question is not perhaps so much where I am going, as where so much time and effort had gone and whether the dream of doing something worthwhile “when there was time” was anything more than an excuse for lack of discipline and real ability. My domestic obligations are heavy. Sin is never in season; and—alas!—it is never out of season when the devil is master. Period! Give me a break. The gardens remove plants that do not belong.

I cried to my God for help. From his temple he heard my voice; my cry came before him, into his ears. The Earth trembled and quaked, and the foundations of the mountains shook; they trembled because he was angry. Smoke rose from his nostrils; consuming fire came from his mouth, burning coals blazed out of it. He mounted the cherubim and flew; he soared on the wings of the wind.

He made darkness his covering, his canopy around him—the dark rain clouds of the sky. Out of the brightness of his presence clouds advanced, with hailstones and bolts of lightning. The LORD thundered from Heaven; the voice of the Most High resounded. He shot his arrows and scattered the enemies, great bolts of lightning routed them. The valley of the sea were exposed and the foundations of the Earth laid bare at your rebuke, O LORD, at the blast of breath from your nostrils.

He reached down from on high and took hold of me; he drew me out of deep waters. He rescued me from my powerful enemy, from my foes, who were too strong for me; they confronted me in the day of my disaster, but the LORD was my support.

He brought me out into a spacious place; he rescued me because he delighted in me. Sometimes I examine myself to determine where I have failed to make my mark as a journalist. If I had a child, he could be in high school by now, and I still do not have my large home in the Netherlands.

However, Batman Refrigeration Company trades in an old machine on a new model when the fair market value of the old machine is greater than its book value. Should Batman recognize a gain on disposal? If the fair market value of the old machine is less than its book value, should Batman recognize a loss on disposal?

Why should I, who have such real evils to contend with, regard imaginary ones? The evil risk more to serve evil than the good risk to serve good. Ignorance and prejudice are the only real evils. The evil spirts always hate the good ones. It is a great mistake to think that anybody is an angel or a devil.

Everyone has Choices

 IMG_20150930_204912

The tongue has power to bring death or life; those who love to gossip like a broad will reap consequences. Be careful of what you say and protect your life. A careless talker destroys himself or herself. They cried for help, but there was no one to save them, to the LORD, but he did not answer.

20150925_184935

I beat them, as fine as dust borne on the wind; I poured them out like mud in the streets. You have delivered me from the attacks of the people; you have made me the head of nations; people I did not know are subject to me. As soon as they hear me, they obey me; foreigners cringe before me. They all lose heart; they come trembling from their strongholds.

 ffe

The LORD lives! Praise be to my Rock! Exalted be God my Savior! He is the God who avenges me, who subdues nations under me, who saves me from my enemies. You exalted me above my foes; from violent men you rescued me. Therefore, I will praise you among the nations, O LORD; I will sing praises to your name.

He gives his king great victories; he shows unfailing kindness to his anointed, to David and his descendants forever. You made my enemies turn their backs in flight, and I destroyed my foes.

Failure is really a matter of conceit. People do not work hard because, in their conceit, they imagine they will succeed without ever making an effort. Most people believe that they will wake up some day and find themselves rich. Actually, they have got it half right, because eventually they do wake up.

You still the hunger of those you cherish; their sons have plenty, and they store up wealth for their children. And I, in righteousness I will see your face; when I awake, I will be satisfied with your likeness. I love you, O LORD, my strength. The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge.

The Two Great Teachers: Nature and Love

It was not long before he was smiling and enjoying life. I have thought more of my daydreams are more extended and magnificent, but they want (as the painters call it) keeping. It is okay to spend time daydreaming, you are the architect of your future, and wishing for what could be is great; get busy and cast the line yourself, and make something happen. As soon as you discover your purpose in life and pursue your dreams, one will inevitably spend more and more of one’s time doing what you enjoy and do best. That is good. If you focus on your priorities, you can achieve your dreams. I remember how I seemed to float, then, down then, melancholy glory of that track upon the sea, away into the World of dreams. However, success requires something else: discipline. One of the best ways I know to improve self-control is to do something you do not enjoy doing (as long as it is constructive like cleaning the toilet or respecting people who hate you)—everyday. If you learn to do what you must, you will be able to do what you want. Success seems to be connected action. Successful people keep it moving. They may make mistakes, but they never quit. The man is himself, and the woman herself: that dream of love is over as everything else is over in life; as flowers and fury, and griefs and pleasures are over.

If we awake in the morning to find rain when we vividly had anticipated sunshine, it is only the common mind who would regret the compensation of the dream. Randolph Harris of Cosumnes River College, in Sacramento, California conducted a five-year study of leading artists, like Aaliyah and Britney Spears, and athletes like Serena Williams and Pete Rose, and scholars like Brice Harris and Dr. Freud. It also consisted of anonymous interviews with the top twenty performers in various fields, including pianists, musicians, actors, actresses, photographers, journalist, sculptors, mathematicians, and neurologist. Serena Williams dreamed that she was delivered of a tennis ball, which the devil (who, to her great surprise, acted the part of midwife) struck so forcibly with a racket that it disappeared in an instant. The information was supplemented by additional interviews with those people’s families and teachers. Randolph Harris and his team of researchers sought to find clues to how these high achievers developed because everyone is tired of sad and tragic stories. What we discovered was that the drive and determination helped to build their talent, which lead to their success. Dreamers see the Heavens open every day. I loved these dreams and the success of my imaginary achievements. They were my best parts of life, my secret truth, my hidden reality.

The bars of the real are set close about us; we cannot open our wings, but they are stuck against them, and drop bleeding. However, when we glide between the bars into the great unknown beyond, we may sail forever in the glorious blue sky, seeing nothing but our own shadows, which may scare us at times. So age success age, and dream succeeds dream, and of the joy of the dreamer no man knoweth but he who dreameth. Our fathers had their dream; we have ours; the generation that follows will have its own. Without dreams and phantoms, we cannot exist. It is no use of talking about waking me, when you are one of the things of my dream. You know very well we are not real. Dreams do not confine themselves to the rules of drama. I have dreamt in my life dreams that have stayed with me ever after, and changed my ideas; they have gone through and through me, like wine through water, and altered the color of my mind. Each person has its corresponding duties. The question where the duty of obedience ends, and the duty of resistance begins, could in no case be any easy one. The first duty of a great man or lady is justice. Justice must not be simply an opinion, we have to obey man’s laws and God’s laws, as best we can. However, the bare performance of duty merits do not reward, it is a requirement. We must be a common scholar afore we can be a on common one.

Dreams are the Gifts of the Heavens

What secret of happiness is greater than to follow your illusions? Robert Lopatin thought it was too late. As a boy, his dreams were as gigantic as his surroundings were small, he had dreamed of becoming a doctor. It must be a very dear and intimate reality for which people will be content to give up a dream. When he went to college, he gave up the idea. Instead, Robert Lopatin went into the family business of manufacturing women’s clothing and employed 400 people. We dream not ourselves, but within us. He stayed there for twenty-seven years! Then he and his father sold their business. If h wished, he could have retired. As quick as thought are dreams. At a friend’s wedding, he sat next to a young man who had just finished medical school. Chatting with the new doctor made Robert Lopatin think about his boyhood dream, tell me what a man dreams, and I will tell you what he loves. And at the young age of fifty-one, Robert Lopatin decided to become a doctor. Dreams are so wonderful that some people stop not short of ascribing them directly to Heaven.

Robert Lopatin graduated in four years from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and served his residency at Monetefiore Medical Center in Bronx, New York. And he loved it– even the one-hundred-hour workweeks and the graveyard shifts. In dreams, the conscience sleeps, and we often stain ourselves with guilt of which we should be incapable in our waking moments. There is something special about these normal people, they do extraordinary things, things that the living are not capable of. “I feel like I died and was born again,” reports Dr. Robert Lopatin. When we receive Christ, we are reborn. In theory, what if he really did die, and his contract with God was not complete so he went to another level? Human behavior is governed by a large number of types of motives, some that are physiological, but many more that are acquired and learned through social interaction, personal experiences, and growth experiences. These physiological requirements are very powerful because survival depends on their satisfaction. Men will dream; the most that can be asked of them is but that the dream be not in too glaring discord with the thing they know.

In the healthy person, adulthood is characterized by a variety of new challenges. If his sense of selfhood is sufficiently developed in adolescence, a young adult will seek to expand that sense of self and awareness, to actualize his potential for growth and creativity. Actualize may be a new word to you. It means to make real, to make actual those characteristics or talents that are present but not yet developed in an individual (such qualities are sometimes called latent). In self-actualization, they newly formed self is motivated to try out new experiences to see what it can do. You may have a dream in your heart that you think is too antiquated to pursue. Another person may have told you that it is too late to do what you desire. However, it is not. Writer Joseph Conrad published his first novel at age forty. Dreams have no regard to consanguinity, a little trance of astonishment. Dr. Robert Lopatin, MD is a full-fledged doctor. He has a practice at 735 Kappock Street, Bronx, New York 10463.

Everyone who has met Dr. Robert Lopatin said he was “Above average, not normal.” Dr. Robert Lopatin says that he, “Is a young doctor, but an old person.” He never married nor had any children and believes that age enhances the quality of his care. Others, like Artist Grandma Moses started painting when she was seventy-five years old—and she still had a twenty-six-year career. Rebecca Jarvis went from being on a TV show called, “Celebrity Apprentice” to hosting the news on CNBC, CBS, and now is the Chief Business and Economic Correspondent for ABC News, New York, and has her own talk show called Real Biz, and she also hosts the World News, Good Morning America, and Nightline. Pursue your dreams, no matter how lofty they may seem, no matter who laughs at you, and tells you it is unrealistic. Do not ask us how we make our dream tally with facts. The glory of a dream is this—that it despises facts, and makes it own. Our dream saves us from going mad; that is enough.

Sacramento having an Identifity Crisis?

One that lives well in the World is better than he that lives in a monastery. When moving to a new city, affordability and jobs are usually the number one indicators of if the location will be a good match or not. Sacramento, California is undergoing much expansion, in hope is becoming a “World Class City.” However, many people who currently live in Sacrament, California are struggling to get by and are concerned if they will still able to afford to eat and pay rent or the mortgage after the new King’s Coliseum, high rises, and other new amenities are completed? These new amenities are expected to drive up property values, which means it will be more expensive to buy and rent. This scared people because the economy is not exactly healthy, and there is no talk of new corporations moving to Sacramento, California, so there is an assumption that the new development will be to attract people from other parts of the state, country and World.

Not only that, but 25 percent of the jobs in Sacramento are retail and customer service, which pay minimum wage and the minimum wage in California is expected to be $12.50 by 2020, which is extremely low. Sacramento, California also has an unemployment rate of 6 percent, while the national unemployment rate is 5.1 percent. A one bed room apartment in the Capitol city of California goes for about $975.00 a month. The Median home value is $272,500.00 to $429,700.00. By 1 January 2015 the minimum wage in Sacramento, California will increase to $9.00 an hour. That means someone who has a minimum wage job, which is 25 percent of the city, will take home a net of $1,400.00. So these people do not even qualify to rent a one bed room apartment in Sacramento, California.

And those making $50,655.00, generally have a mortgage of at least $1,800.00 a month, which means after they pay mortgage, and before taxes, they have $2,421.00 left in their pay check. Car payment and insurance and gasoline is about another $1,200.00 a month, food about $500.00, electric and water about $420.00, leaving the home owner with $301.25, and that is without paying taxes or health insurance. Sacramento is known as a low income city, and if you want it to be a World Class city, World class jobs are required to come here and boost wages. Not only is the Mayor and the city council pricing current residence out of the city, a new arena and high rises are not going to be attractive to potential migrants once they see the wages and cost of living in Sacramento, California, and the lack of jobs. Just years after the L Street lofts were completed, they went to into foreclosure, either due to a lack of interest or because no one could afford to life there.

Society is the best thing we have, but it is a crazy vessel worked by a crew that formerly practice piracy, and now, in expiation, professes piety, fearful of a discovered omnipotence, which is in the image of themselves and the captain. Society will get the better of us unless we get the better of society. Since Mayor Kool Aid Johnson (Kevin Johnson) and his groupies the City Council have been in office, they have spent a record breaking amount of $1 Billion, but Sacramento, California still have low wages, and high unemployment. Not only that, but Sacramento have never seen a politican as scandalous as Mayor Kool Aid Johnson (Kevin Johnson). It is a dreadful feeling that of being cut off from all one’s kind. I do not believe that any one could long retain one’s reason in solitude. One begins doubting one’s own identity.

Children of the Sun: Pumpkin Spice Latte

Nature seeks happiness. You and I have got to part; motivations are to satisfy love and belonginess. A young entrepreneur opened a coffee shop along with two partners. During their first week in operation, he overheard two little ladies in the dining room talking about their disappointment that they could not get a pumpkin spice latte at another coffee shop because it was not the right season to order the drink. One of the ladies who was from Stockholm, Germany, had never tired the café beverage and was looking forward to trying it. The entrepreneur got on the computer and did an internet search on “how to make pumpkin spice latte,” found the recipe, went to the supermarket, got the ingredients, and returned to his coffee shop. He whipped up the concoction, as the two ladies were having lunch, and brought them two tall muds of pumpkin spice lattes, and even topped them with whipped cream. “Ma’am,” he said, “There will always be a pumpkin spice latte with your name on it at this coffee shop anytime you want it. Anytime you come in, you just tell the person working the espresso machines who you are and that you would like a pumpkin spice latte, and they will prepare it for you.”

 The woman was shocked.

“Young man,” she said, “I have lived in this town my whole life. I have many influential friends, and they will all hear what you just did for me. Thank you. From now on, I will be a regular customer, and my friend will tell everyone how nice Americans are when she returns home and how much she enjoyed your latte.” And she was as good as her word. Businesses should have excellent customer service. Employees are required to address customers’ desires in a friendly and professional fashion. Great customer service is not possible without amazing business management, so it is key that you are making what your customers do not see just as important as what they do see. Customer attention is the new resource that everyone is fighting for. The new “Attention Economy” is the new battleground for companies. In the 1960 to the 1990s, great customer service was the norm because people wanted a good reputation and cared about their products. We have a very limited window to grab someone’s attention when they come into our store. If we are not able to serve their needs in a timely, polite, professional, and satisfactory manner, our competitors are quite literally just a few steps away.  Do not make your customer think, do not make them wait, and tell them why they should care. Make sure you are helping them understand why your business is the best. A light heart and a thin pair of breeches goes through the World.

How To Make a Pumpkin Spice Latte at Home

What You Need

Ingredients
2 tablespoons canned pumpkin
**1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice, plus more to garnish
Freshly ground black pepper
2 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons pure vanilla extract
2 cups whole milk
**1 to 2 shots espresso, about 1/4 cup
1/4 cup heavy cream, whipped until firm peaks form

(**Look below for substitutes. just scroll down until you see substitutes.)

Equipment
Mixer, whisk, or hand blender, to whip cream
Saucepan
Wooden spoon
Whisk
Blender
Espresso maker or coffee maker

mm

Instructions

  1. Heat the pumpkin and spices: In a small saucepan over medium heat, cook the pumpkin with the pumpkin pie spice and a generous helping of black pepper for 2 minutes or until it’s hot and smells cooked. Stir constantly.
  2. Stir in the sugar: Add the sugar and stir until the mixture looks like a bubbly thick syrup.
  3. Warm the milk: Whisk in the milk and vanilla extract. Warm gently over medium heat, watching carefully to make sure it doesn’t boil over.
  4. Blend the milk: Carefully process the milk mixture with a hand blender or in a traditional blender (hold the lid down tightly with a thick wad of towels!) until frothy and blended.
  5. Mix the drinks: Make the espresso or coffee and divide between two mugs and add the frothed milk. Top with whipped cream and a sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice, cinnamon, or nutmeg if desired.

Substitutions

  • Vanilla: Yes, this recipe calls for two tablespoons (not teaspoons) of vanilla. This sounds like a lot, but it does more than anything else to mimic the intense, even artificial, taste of the syrups used in coffee shops. But feel free to start with less and bump it up as needed.
  • Milk Fat: This recipe is most satisfying when made with whole milk, but 2% and skim can be substituted.
  • Canned Pumpkin Substitution: You can substitute 1 teaspoon Torani Pumpkin Spice Syrup for the canned pumpkin if you have it on hand.
  • Sugar Substitute: You can use a sugar substitute in place of the sugar if desired. Add to taste.
  • Pumpkin Pie Spice Substitute: No pumpkin pie spice? No problem — use our recipe to make it out of cinnamon, ginger, and other spices: Pumpkin Pie Spice Mix

  • How To Make Pumpkin Pie Spice

    Makes 2 1/3 tablespoons

Adapted from The Contemporary Encyclopedia of Herbs & Spices by Tony Hill

    What You Need

    Ingredients
    1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
    2 teaspoons ground ginger
    1/2 teaspoon allspice
    1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
    1/2 teaspoon ground mace
    1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

    Equipment
Measuring spoons, bowl, whisk, or spoon

    Instructions

    1. Measure: Measure out all ingredients in the order listed (to ensure you don’t double up or leave one out) into a small bowl.
    2. Mix: Whisk or stir to combine. Store in an airtight container for up to 1 year.
  • ****Espresso Substitute: If you don’t have espresso on hand, you can use strong brewed coffee instead. Increase amount to 1/3 to 1/2 cup.

Recipe Notes

  • Make a big batch of pumpkin spice mix-in: If you like, you can make a big batch of the pumpkin spice base, and refrigerate. To make 8 full servings, cook 1/2 cup pureed or canned pumpkin with 2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice, 1/2 teaspoon black pepper, and 1/2 cup sugar. Stir in 1/2 cup vanilla extract. Refrigerate for up to 1 week and use as desired. To serve, blend 1/3 cup pumpkin spice mix-in with milk until frothy, and add 1 or 2 shots of espresso. Top with whipped cream and serve. May even enjoy with a warm slice of pumpkin pie.

And one of my person favorite is the Eggnog latte, which is really simple, buy a carton of eggnog, heat it to about 165° degrees Fahrenheit, on medium heat, constantly stirring it so you do not burn the eggnog, add about a shot of espresso to one glass of heated eggnog, and you are real to enjoy. If you want, top with a little whipped cream and cinnamon.

Success in project is everything. Versatility is the foundation of success. So I finally did it, I joined a dating web site, I have not posted my picture yet, or talked to anyone, but I figured this was a step in the right direction. Apparently, being successful requires knowing people. And I am not necessarily looking to have a romantic relationship, but I would like to make a friend, or build a network. You cannot do it on your own.

 417

I look at the people, in Sacramento, and it is a very unique market. Many of them date or are married to their colleagues, so I figure maybe this is the secret? You will need the help of others—and you will need to give help to others—if you want to be successful. And that will require you to connect with others. Remember to express your highest enthusiasm, your greatest optimism, and your most triumphant experiences.

 .m,,.m

Victory depends upon ardor more than numbers, and it is the heart that gives success. The objective to being successful is to focus on people, be likeable, show others than you care, and remember everyone’s name. Walk slowly through the crowd, and be generous. A young man, from the city, graduated from college with a degree in journalism, and got a job at a small-town newspaper. One of his first assignments was to interview a celebrity, who lived in Beverly Hills. As he sat with the successful man on his front porch, the young journalist looked at his notepad and started asking his questions.

 429

One of the first questions he asked was, “Sir, what time do you go to work in the morning?” The actor chuckled and replied, “Son, I don’t go to work. I am surrounded by it. And I saw those pictures of yourself you have been trading with someone online. You got a reaction. Watch it, man.” We can learn a lesson from the successful actor. Opportunities are a lot like his work. They are everywhere. However, the problem is that we often do not have the eyes to see them. If you want to be successful, then be governed by your finest thoughts.

 421

As you approach each day, look around. Be aware. If you do not see opportunities, remember that it is not because they are not around. You are always surrounded by them. You simply need to open your eyes and see them. Then act on them. You will be as small as your controlling desire, as great as your dominant aspiration. Love what you are doing, believe in your product, and select good people. People who have given up are ruled by their darkest mistakes, worst failures, and deepest regrets.

Murder is his Business—a Gift left in the Case

Throw it off! Get rid of what there is in you. It is only lately, in fact, that I have realized it is more important for a writer to say whatever he has to say than to worry about form. It is what he says, not how he says it that matters, although he must know the rules in order to break them effectively.

IMG_20150927_163540

Time is important to the writer. There is so much I want to do, so much I will never have time to do now. Life just is not long enough.

 IMG_20150925_213107

The great mystery to be solved is why society has become so dysfunctional. No matter how much I try to write about good things and focus on the beauty of life, the bizarre keeps knocking on my door.

i-know-killer

Rather if it is a man wearing a leather slicker, hat, and sunglass on a hot summer’s day, looking like the killer from, “I know what you did Last Summer,” to tell me the lights on my car are flashing, or if it is someone speaking up about how Mayor Kevin Johnson, of Sacramento, California is suing the city, has private employees posing as city employees, bankrupted a black organization, sued a local newspaper for requesting public documents. Not to mention the Mayor a trail of sexual assaults under his belt, and these are not just baseless accusations.

There are only two subject to write about in Sacramento, California—sex and crime. A few night ago, I was out for a walk and a young lady was walking next to her, this guy, sitting on a bench, in front of a controversial apartment complex says to her, “I have been waiting outside of your house for you to come out, but I have not seen you lately.” She replied, “Yeah, I have been gone.” I turned to the lady and said, “Did you hear him?” She says, “Yes, I am used to it, this is Midtown. I have had people put things under my house, and they are always wondering around on my property, I even had a bum take a bowl movement on my lawn.” I told her, “I am sorry to hear that, be safe.” She replied, “You, too.”

It would seem to be astonishing because these things are so outrageous. However, it seems this is the new normal. I was talking to another lady and she told me her in-laws were losing their minds, too. Someone moved in with their great grandmother, and turned her out, now she is drinking, the great granddaughter, a teenager, is selling sex, and a group of hooligans converged on the great grandmother’s property and she had to pull a gun out and scare them away.

Another lady, he 45 year old son, who has likes six kids and cursing his mother out and asking her what can she do for him, even after she supported two of his children, and his entire family, at one point.

Then her daughter, who is near the age of 40 met some guy in San Francisco, and went from having a nice $2000.00 a month apartment and a job, to sleeping on someone’s couch. Then she had to move back in with her mother, and the boyfriend was sleeping outside of the mother’s house in a car.

However, it gets even worse, it seems the daughter and the boyfriend took a liking to heroin. So he started stealing money from her bank account and they would check into sleazy motels and shot up heroin, and having séances. Within a year, the young lady was rushed to the hospital three times, and had to be put on life support, and the doctor told her the next time it happens she will likely die.

So a few days after she gets out of the hospital, the boyfriend calls her and she is sitting on the phone like she is in a trance talking about, “I love you, you are the only one who understands me, I will come to you right now.”

IMG_20150927_153845

Luckily her car had been blocked in the drive way, and the family took her keys and phone away because she was on the way to that motel to get someone heroin.

I flat out told her months ago that guy was no good, and everyone got upset with me. Then after she got out of the hospital this third time, I told her he is going to get you hooked on that heroin and having you out there hoin’ to bring him money. Then when you end up dead, he will move on to the next.

IMG_20150926_225220

So the family sent her out of the state for a few weeks, but no telling what she will do when she gets back. Nonetheless, this type of behavior is unbelievable to me. Many of you might be used to it, but I am not.

Even today policemen are anathema to the valley people. If you come into our valley you will never get out! I feel like I was taken out of my idyllic Connecticut neighborhood and out into a satirical thriller.

However, be wise, and that wisdom shall be a God unto thee; be contented, and that is thy Heaven. We are wise by other people’s experiences. So many things in my life have embarrassed me, but so happy that I know not to get involved with a person, who does not have a job or their own place.

And yes, I almost went down that rabbit hole before, but I was tricked into it. Then when I realized what was going on, I got out of it. I know not to get involved with people who are in to drugs because they will pull you down, and you may never recover, especially if they are poor.

We may make the World allow for and respect us as we please, if we can but be sturdy in our wills, and set out accordingly.

Niccolo Paganini is considered one of the greatest violinists of all time. He was a virtuoso, performing his first concert at age eleven. His great technical ability revolutionized violin technique across Europe. When he died in 1840, he willed his violin to Genoa, Italy, the place of his birth.

005

However, he did so upon one condition: that no other artists ever play his instrument again. Glad to have the violin come into their possession, the city’s fathers agreed to the request, and they put in in a beautiful case for everyone to see.

However, wooden instruments have a certain peculiarity. As long as they are handled, they show no wear. Yet, if one lay unused, it begins to decay, which is what happed to Niccolo Paganini’s violin. His once-exquisite instrument became worm-eaten and useless.

Other violins of the same vintage have been handed down through the generations, from one gifted musician to another, and they continue to bring great music to attentive audiences. Still, Niccolo Paganini’s violin is crumbling relic of what was once.

That talent you have been given by God cannot be set aside like Niccolo Paganini’s violin. If you do not nurture your ability, grow, it will steadily decay until it is useless.

However, if you consistently work with it, diligently trying to bring out its best, it will bring forth “music” that will not only give you joy, but will also serve others and bring you success. Success is a continuing thing. It is a growth and development. Prayer draws us near to our own souls, and purifies our thoughts.

All I need is you, we can survive on cheese and crackers and vegetables; I mean fruit. I like grapes, apples sound good, too. You and I have got a part, a suspense story, basically, but by implication it raises the question of the tendency of men of ideals on both sides to fall, underpressure, into the attitude that the end justifies the means.

019

Nobody, except perhaps a Freudian psyco-analyst, could ever explain why you would fall in love with me. A man who does not know his personal history well (and more than just cognitively), to the point where he is not being dominated by it, cannot be fully trusted, for whatever lies unfaced and unillumined in him can take over, run the show, and operate in ways that do great damage, both to himself and to others.

001

We are always trying to understand or make sense out of our own and others actions. It has been said that one has a will to meaning. One strives to find meaning everywhere, and usually succeeds. What we are doing when we interpret something, when we find meaning, is not entirely clear.  One cognitive process we all experience is fantasy.

007

This process is not often explored by behavioral scientists, perhaps because they cannot use the scientific method to investigate it, or because they may see fantasy as a means of escape or a place where only “crazy” or irresponsible people choose to live.

20140922_142536

Not so! The realm of fantasy is just as much a part of the cognitive process as any other “respectable” thinking or memory system. However, fantasy does have many characteristics that make if difficult to study. Yet, keep in mind, many of the “rational” things people say are not entirely true, or outdated.

For example, many say America is a country built by immigrants, but that is not true. American has been under construction since the 1600, by colonizers, and with in that time many have become citizens. Most of the construction in American, was done is that last 150 by Americans, so America is actually a country built by Americans. Experts say that Golden Era, from 1945 to 1970, was the largest period of construction in the history of the United States of America.

So even when things are taken as a fact, by digging deeper, we often find the truth. So it is okay to dream. Dreams are so personal and subjective that it is difficult to share with others, and a fantasizer may not even be certain of all of the details of the fantasy himself, making it hard to describe to another person. For many of us, our past is a major part of our shadow, apparently gone, but in reality still very much here and now, determining far more of our behavior than we might want to admit.

ok 034

Our past will remain present until we consciously and compassionately take out present/presence into our past, inhabiting what was once fled, mobilizing what was once immobilized, freeing what was once trapped, brining into our heart what was once rejected, providing as optimal environment as possible for a healing integration of all that we are. This leaves us not in pieces nor run by any particular part of ourselves, but knowingly whole.

186

A relationally rooted, integrative approach to healing takes into account all of our dimensions—physical, mental, emotional, psychological, sexual, social, and spiritual—cultivating intimacy (hence relationally rooted) and working with them in the context of our innate wholeness. In this approach, no part of us is left out or marginalized. Everything that we are is considered in the process of our healing.

Sometimes we meet people and are really interested in someone, but wonder if they really want to settle down. Most people, used to look for stable relationships, but it seems many are now just looking to have friends and many casual encounters, and it leaves some wondering if they will ever be in a long term relationship, or should they also just become serial daters?

Crab+Cake+LA+2015+HaQRCBy_cb9x

Well, just give it time. Hold out, and do not share yourself with just anyone. One of my friends has only been dating this guy for a year, and he asked her to marry him, and she accepted the offer. She is very beautiful and he knows women like her do not come around often. So the right person for you will find you.

Your body is not just an “it,” but rather an expression of who you are. The day will come; and in the endless river the waters of time shall smooth behind their wake, and not a ripple mark their noisy passing. All the rivers run and time flow softly. I know that, when I first saw this body of water, coming from two thousand miles away, it was a most stimulating and exciting experience.

Against the Sky of Medieval Santa Clara

Divine interposition in our behalf…that hand that destroys the Constitution rends our Union asunder forever. Law does not seem like law at all when one knows the makers of it. Part of healing is time traveling, going back psychologically and emotionally (and consciously!) to the central scenes of our original wounding, scenes where we became a divided nation in order to proceed with our lives. In this, we go back not just in narrative (or everyday) memory, but also in, and sometime only in, emotional memory. All I ever wanted was to be successful, I recall being in elementary school, and the teacher wanted to make sure we all knew how to spell successful. She believed if she impressed the word in our heads that it would make a difference in our lives.

Success means different things for different people. To many, being successful means having a great career, making a lot of money, driving a nice car, and owing a big house, and having a saving account and a private retirement. That is what I was taught success was as a child. However, success has many different meanings. Often times, being successful simply means the accomplishment of an aim or purpose, which will benefit you and those around you, without implicitly hurting others. And to others, success means the attainment of popularity or profit. Or you may want to obtain success by achieving desired goals or attaining prosperity. For some, there desired goal may be to overcome a lifelong health problem, it could mean overcoming a drug addiction, or having a baby, so success looks different depending on who you are, or what your circumstances are.

However, life is unpredictable and sometimes we have to deal with unexpected situations, which may inhibit our goals, and we may have no idea how we are going to get through a particular situation. So, the important thing is to keep your faith. Sometimes we may have to postpone an old ambition to build a novel of our lives, so to speak. And your journey should fascinate you. Never let your life become an apocalyptic kind of story. Just understand you may have to defer, not abandon, that project; you will go back to it someday, but to do the theme justice you must invest your time and energy in overcoming another situation, and you will not be ready to do that for some years yet. It is as if we have found a control panel in the dark, bringing in enough light and presence to do some rewire, not to get rid of our painful memories, which is impossible, but to lessen their hold on us so that they cease being our default locale when we are suffering in circumstances that mimic those in which we originally suffered.

Whatever you will ultimately achieve as a living being is only to be guessed by others, but to you, your target must be unmistakable. And never yield to temptations that you know are wrong, know that you are going to be a success, and nothing can stop you now. You might come upon quite a few inviting windmills, and it may be against your nature to leave these undisturbed, and I supposed there is a lesson to learn, and not all lessons are negative, some are beneficial. Some people come into your life to bring you out of your shell, to teach you communication, to express who you are and what you want, and they will make you emotionally stronger. To the point when something goes wrong, you look at it as a situation, and not the end of the World. You will learn to control your environment and look at other options. Past, present future, such are neatly sequential trio, or so it seems.  However, it is not just the study of quantum mechanics that deconstructs and calls in question the apparent orderliness of time, but also the developmental dynamics of our lives. Events and behavioral patterns from our early years can easily determine how we operate, often colonizing our present with our past; this may be obvious externally, but not so obvious internally.

If, for example, we constantly feel violated because there are things going on in our lives, and happening to the people we love, and it seems to be the same types of things happening over and over, the purpose is to teach you to deepen your love for others and let go of being angry. We are learning to fuel or direction. So our past is often very much present in us, manifesting in the form of behaviors that first arose in response to difficult circumstances, and still arise, almost as if we are frozen in time, or listen to a scratched record that keeps moving forward, then jumping back to that same thread over and over and over and over again, when similar difficulties occur. Such behaviors are mostly automatic, featuring very predictable reactions, regardless of their outer trappings. Our unresolved wounds may be out of sight, but the behaviors associated with them, usually are not. We may have reacted strongly a few times in the past, but after going through the same situations, you realize, okay, my negative reaction is not going to change this situation; I have to let go and let God.

I know I am doing the right thing, so how can I go wrong? It is my critics who are messing up, and at some point they will attract the attention they deserve, and if people you love are getting hurt in the process, and you do not have the power, nor ability to change the situation, all you can do is learn to love your enemy and wish them the best. This will take any liability off of you. Once current circumstances have pushed us past a certain energetic threshold, old, conditioned responses can easily kick in and overtake. Not that we have to be victims of this, but we can do a little to stop such conditioning from initially seizing us. However, if we see it for what it is, we can alter our course, even though the characteristic sensations of such a takeover my persist quite strongly (changing course in the middle of the storm does not necessarily cause our agitation to immediately disappear!).

And it is not just our past that may take charge of or invade us (with our permission), but also the past of others with whom we are associated, and our collective past. They may be someone in your life who loves you and created a storm, and he may feel he was helping, but by your reaction he now feels like he made a mess of your life. Think of how challenging fear can be, and then factor in the reality of collective fear, not as a distant something on someone else’s horizon, but as a living force pervading our living space, carrying the message that we are, in various ways, threatened or endangered, no matter how removed we may be dark stuff of life. When the law of the land is weak, it is right the law of nature should be strong. Thank you. I just have to give respect and know when my time is. Thank God. The Universe is required to hear this message, the Universe orders up what it requires when it requires it. We are over it, let us just keep going. I just know that this is a very special moment. The fact that I can do this is the win.
