Cosementic Surgery for Dogs, just Puppy Love or Abuse?

We all know that people love dogs, some even respect the lives of dogs more than human life. And there are so many new amenities that are aimed at dogs, such a dog hotels, dog parks, dog gyms, dog walkers, dog restaurants, and even personal trainers for dogs. Whatever, to each his or her own, right? Well, what you may not know is dogs are now having plastic surgery, and not just for medical purposes, but to also look better. The procedures are medically safe, and make the pet more beautiful. And pet owners spent a whopping $62 million on dog plastic surgery. Dogs are now getting nose jobs, entropion surgery to lift a dog’s eyelids, dog are even getting neuticles, which are silicone testicular implants for dogs that have been neutered. Apparently more than 500,000 dogs have had testicular implants. However, it does not stop there! People are also getting tail shortening for their dogs, ear trimming to make the ears pointier, and dogs are even getting their wrinkles straightened.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and owners are also getting double eyelid surgery for their dogs, they are removing their stretch marks, fat, and even getting botox injections for the pooches. And this might surprise you, 47 percent of people see nothing wrong with dog surgery. However, some animal rights groups are calling it abuse. But still, people dress their dogs up for Halloween, put panty hoses on their legs, and wigs on their heads. Some people may find the puppy love unusual, but maybe history and biology can explain why people are so devoted to their dogs. Not everyone can have kids, or their kids have grown up and moved away, so they get dogs for companionship or protection. Other reasons, humans and dogs became best friends 40,000 years ago. Modern humans moved to Europe and Asia, and they tamed wolves. Humans and dogs used to live together, until they became competition for food.

The Magic of Le Roi Soleil

th

Masquerades are the produce of a strange excess of fancy, an overheated imagination, set to work by a wild desire of amusement. My imagination was a tarnished mirror. It would not reflect, or only with a miserable dimness, the figures with which I did my best to people it. Let us not imagine evils which we do not feel, nor injure life by misrepresentations.

jardin-des-tuileries

The Tuileries did not come into its own until the reign of Louis XIV (1643 – 1715), when he mounted the memorable spectacle Le Grand Dauphin. This outrageously theatrical event featured the king costumed as a Roman emperor complete with gold, silver, and diamonds while other members of the royal family were dressed as Persians, Indians, Turks, and so forth.

Grand_Dauphin_Family

Fifteen thousand people watched the pageantry and the queen looked on from a rostrum in front of the Tuileries decorated with fleurs-de-lys. Le Vau, the architect of the Pavillon de Marsan, remodelled the palace of the Tuileries and the famous gardens were laid out by Andre Le Notre in the formal, balanced style he perfected. Their lay-out can still be appreciated today: the two outer terraces (along the Rue de Rivoli and the Seine) enclosed a symmetrical patter of parterres, fountains, pools, quincunxes, geometric paths and ramps. The gardens are well stocked with seventeenth century sculptures.

Battle-bouvines

During Louis XIV’s minority, indeed until the crafty Italian cardinal died in 1661, the government was in the hands of Mazarin. While he was successful in matters of foreign policy, following the lines established by his late mentor Cardinal Richelieu, Mazarin blundered at home. This was the period of the near civil war known as the ‘Fronde’ when the great nobles and the Paris mob were equally turbulent.

1399097085_d3cdb8ac58_z

It was Louis XIV’s memory of the Fronde which gave birth to Versailles. On the one hand, he moved his court there so as to be at a safe distance from the rabble of Paris; on the other, he made his father’s small chateau large enough to accommodate all the nobles of the kingdom, so that by having them near him he was able to keep them under control. However, what might be called the ‘Versailles system’ was not fully established until the later part of his reign, when the chateau grew to its present size.

Versailles 3

In order to attract his nobles and dominate them, Louis exalted his kingship to a height unequalled by any other European monarch of recent centuries. He was Le Roi Soleil, the Sun around which the whole universe of French nobility revolved. To raise himself to these heights, he had, first and foremost, his own personality. Contrary to the popular myth, Louis was tall and of splendid physique. While he could not have been called handsome, there was a regal and mysterious air to his dark, slightly Oriental looks and small, half-closed, all-seeing eyes.

_62776_bt

He had a tremendous dignity and his movements were extraordinarily graceful; he always knew how to say just the right thing. His splendid health and vitality fitted him well for the arduous duties and endless ceremonies of kingship, particularly as he had unlimited self-control and would spare himself no more than he spared others.

limg718300840

To enhance his own personal majesty, Louis built one of the most splendid palaces Europe has ever seen: he also raised court etiquette and ceremonial to fine art. This again provided a means of keeping his nobles harmlessly occupied. Dukes who in the past would have plotted rebellions now devoted all their energies to vying with one another as to who should have the privilege of holding the right-hand sleeve of the king’s shirt while he was dressing, or of removing his chaise-percee or commode.

normal_paris-tuileries

The magic of Le Roi Soleil and his court, however, did not depend on majesty alone. Even the most devoted courtier might eventually have found this boring. Louis XIV was not only regal, but charming; though immensely majestic, he was never pompous. He was always dignified, yet he had a sense of humour. And while much of the time at Versaillies was spent in stately ceremonial, there was always a great deal of amusement.

TO GO WITH AFP STORY IN FRENCH BY FABIEN

There was the hunting and shooting – the king, like most Bourbons, was basically an outdoor man, devoted to field sports. There were the fetes and the long evenings of music, gambling and gossip. There were the amorous intrigues in which the king himself took part until, after the death of the queen, he became the strictly faithful husband of the pious and somewhat puritanical Madame de Maintenon, whom he married secretly. Under the latter’s influence he mended his morals and became more religious. Blessed is he who had regard for the weak; the LORD will protect him and preserve his life; he will bless him in the land and not surrender him to the desire of his foes.

Technology in Action: Computer Love?

Internet-of-Things-Graphic1

Everyday I sent down at my desk to type, I wish I had a new computer, I wish that it was faster, but am thankful for what I do have. Not so long ago, everything was written by had. Then this hidden treasure opened, and many  searched into it, and had a thirst for the knowledge of it, as for silver. They ran to and fro, to enquire out copies of it, collated them, and wanted them to be true and authentic. They read it over and over their files, and meditate upon it their pictures and music, and ran it over in their minds.

The growth of computers has been phenomenal. The first experimental computers were developed in the 1940s, and primitive computers were used in business in the early 1950s. The first serious business applications for computers were put to use in the mid-1960s. From the time of their invention in the 1940s up to the 1980s, there were approximately one million computer systems of all kinds. By the middle of the 1990s, there were 250 million personal computers in use. The personal computer use in the World hit one billion in 2008.

future-computer-woman-shutterstock

As of 2015, there are currently there are 2 billion computers being used Worldwide, 500 million photos being uploaded and shared every day, and 81% of Internet users are outside of the United States of America. Between 2008 and 2014, China added 264 million Internet users, which is equal to 83 percent of the United States of America’s population. “You know I have been searching for someone, who can share this special love with me, and your eyes have that glow, could it be your face I see on my computer screen? Need a special girl to share my computer World. I no longer need s strategy thanks to modern technology,” Zap and Roger.

Concept-Spider-Computer

Everything is done online these days, people look for jobs, love, houses, cars, and shop. The future of computers is amazing. Many computers operate by transistors, microchips, CDs, wires and electricity. However, future computers might use atoms, fibers and light. These are the types of computers that could be everywhere, but never seen. Nano sized bio-computers that could target specific areas inside your body, which would help doctors pin point areas that are bothering you and receiver data about the injury, without you having to describe it to them, and that will better help them treat you.

tribons-future-computer-by-frogdesign-02

Giant networks of computers might be embedded in your body, your clothing, your house, your car, and this will help to keep you safe and healthy. These advanced computers will be entrenched in almost every aspect of our lives and yet we may never give them a single thought. The future could end up being a lot like that TV show “Minority Report,” which airs Monday night on FOX at 9pm.

internet

By 2020, it predicts there will be 50 billion devices connected to the internet, as smart sensors become more present. Also, there is a renewed focus on customer service, people are no longer going to put up with being treated like a problem, and they will expect respect for their hard earned money. In the future, it will be less about controlling people and technology, but enabling them to make life easier. There will be interactive lap tops and three dimensional printers in every classroom and office.

internet

The internet is a relatively new frontier, a digital Wild West, with its own forms of lawlessness. By some estimates, the annual cost to the global economy from cybercrime is more than $445 billion, including the gains to criminals and the costs to companies for recovery and defense. A conservative estimate would be $375 billion in losses, while the maximum could be as much as $575 billion.

FlatWorld

Cybercrime is taken very seriously. Recently a journalist called Matthew Keys, age 26, was arrested because he shared Tribune Company server logins to the Anonymous group of hackers in 2010, and according to authorities, the hackers used the information to sabotage part of the Los Angeles Times’ website.

internet_keyboard-100042718-orig

Mathew Keys now faces up to ten years in prison. He is charged in the Eastern District of California with conspiracy to transmit information to damage a protected computer, transmitting information to damage a protected computer, and attempted transmission of information to damage a protected computer. The case was investigated by the FBI. As commerce and business expands on the Internet, such thievery is not likely to stop. Digital socialism rules the Net, not copyright capitalism.

earth-with-cables1

Cybercrime includes the effect of hundreds of millions of people having their personal information stolen. One estimate acknowledges the total to be at more than 800 million individual records in 2013. This alone could cost as much as $160 billion per year. The constant reports of companies being hacked contribute to a growing sense that cybercrime is out of control. Cybercrime hurts companies, individuals, and national economies.

11076256

Hundreds of companies are being hacked. In the U.S. alone, in one year, 3,000 companies were hacked. Two banks in the Persian Gulf lost $45 million, a British company reported to have lost $1.3 billion. And Losses from cybercrime for four largest economies in the World (America, China, Japan, and Germany) reached $200 billion. Cybercrime could cause the United States to lose 200,000 jobs, and European Union 150,000 jobs.

Not only that, but other concerns of Internet safety are mounting as Russian submarines and spy ships are bellicosely operating near vital undersea cables that carry almost all global Internet communications, raising concerns among some American military and intelligence officials that the Russians might be planning to attack those lines in times of tension or conflict.

1207b241ae0ddf8c3aaa35b2cd702f79

American officials fear that the ultimate Russian hack could involve cutting their fiber optic cables at some of the hardest to reach locations, which would stop the instant communications on which the American governments, economies, and citizens have grown dependent on. In September of 2015, the Russian spy ship Yantar, equipped with two self-propelled deep sea submersible craft, cruised slowly off the East Coast of the United States on its way to Cuba, where one major cable lands near the American naval station at Guantanamo Bay.

internet-of-things-2

Navy officials said that the Yantar and the submersible vehicles it can drop off its decks have the capability to cut cables miles down in the sea. The cables are not really secret because they follow the similar paths since they were laid in the 1860s. Sometimes they are cut by anchors from ships, during storms, but those are easy to repair because they are not that deep. Other cables would be hard to reach, in event they were damaged. “Behold, they are one people, and they have all one language, and this is only the beginning of what they will do. And nothing that they propose to do will now be impossible for them.” Genesis 11:6

Liberation of the Spirit

And I saw an angel standing in the Sun, who cried in a loud voice to all the birds flying in midair, “Come, gather together for the great supper of God, on Thanksgiving, so that you may eat the flesh of kings, generals, and mighty men, of horses and their riders, and the flesh of all people free and slave, small and great.” Someone was heard shouting, “I hate you, you Vampire Bitch!” Photographs in this book are, with a few exceptions, those which were used to illustrate The Age series, the author owns the copyright to all of these photographs.

Earlier in the sixteenth century, the medieval palace of the Louvre had been largely demolished by Francios (le Roi Nez) and rebuilt to designs of Pierre Lescot, with sculptural decoration by Jean Goujon. In its early days the Louvre was a fortress to protect the city from riverside attack, rather the Parisian equivalent of the Tower of London. By the fourteenth century it had become an official royal residence and one of the towers housed Charles V’s celebrated early library of 973 volumes.

Francois I (r. 1515 -47) has more important claims to our attention than his prominent proboscis. A great Renaissance figure, he was a patron of Leonardo da Vinci whom he installed at Amboise, the palace of Charles VIII by the Loire. Da Vinci may have had a hand in the design of the famous spiral staircase at Blois nearby; a brilliant piece of inventiveness and structural virtuosity. Francois added a wing here in the Italian style and also built the best known of celebrated chateaux of the Loire, Chambord.

casserta-C02-750

From 1519 onwards the king’s architect, Trinqueau, employed some 1,800 men on this massive project – 440 rooms, 50 staircases – but Chambord was still unfinished at the time of Francois’s death 28 years later. Its best-known feature is one particular internal staircase, which rises from the floor to roof in a double spiral. For all its size, François regarded Chambord merely as a hunting-lodge set in a deer park rather than as a royal palace; in the following century Louis VIX expressed the view that it was too small.

3059774153_1_3_T1STuq5O

At the same time as Francois I was building this hunting-lodge on a palatial scale, he was also transforming another hunting-lodge, nearer Paris, into what was unquestionably a palace: Fontainebleau. He pulled down most of the original medieval fort, saved for the keep, rebuilt the Cour ovale, laid out the present main courtyard, and linked the two with the long gallery still known as La Galerie de Francois I. The Porte Doree, from which stretches the long avenue into the vast hunting forest, and the Cour aovale staircase are architectural examples of the developing understanding of Italian Renaissance theory.

ballroom-castle-chandlier-gold-grand-hall-Favim_com-49460

François I’s chief contribution to the magnificence of Fontianbleau was the interior, where he had set a squadron of Italian artists and craftsmen, led by Primaticcio and Rosso Fiorentino, to the task of creating what he called a ‘second Rome’. Every available space was filled with frescoes, stucco and marble. Francios I’s successors carried on the work at Fountainebleau: Henri II completed the ballroom to the designs of de L’Orme; Charles IX placed the plaster cast of the bronze horse in the Basse Cour (which later became known as the cour du Cheval blanc) and Henry IV double the size of the palace.

This is what the LORD says: “As I have brought this entire great calamity on this people, so I will give them all the prosperity I have promised them. Once more fields will be bought in this land which you say, ‘It is a desolate waste, without men or animals, for it has been handed over to the Babylonians.’ Fields will be bought for silver, and deeds will be signed, sealed and witnesses in the territory of Benjamin, in the villages around Jerusalem, in the towns of Judah and in the towns of the hill county, of the western foothills and the Negev, because I will restore their fortunes, declare the LORD.”

henryviitomb

Then the LORD went on to say, “They accuse me of being stingy”, le Roi galant once complained, “But I do things which are far removed from meansness, I make wars, I make love, and I build. Henri IV also laid out the Grand Canal here, while the French and Flemish artist he put to work (including Freminet, Ambroise Dubois and Toussaint Dubreuil) came to be known as the Second School of Fontainebleau.”

tour_slide

The patron of the First School of Fontainebleau, François I, collected the paintings and treasures that were to be the eventual basis of the Louvre museum. Artista represented in his collection, apart from the immortal da Vinci, included Andrea del Sarto, Raphael and Benvenuto Cellini. The rebuilding of the Louvre along classical lines came at the end of Francois I’s reign and Lescot’s work on the west wing demonstrated how much the French Renaissance had absorbed from the Italian.

Grand Staircase

However, in Doorway 13, well below deck, proved to hold the ultimate in bad luck for the young crewmen; on 10 July 1966, the 18 year old was participating in a routine drill. Something went terribly wrong and Pedder was crushed to death instantly. Public relations manager Elizabeth Borsting acknowledged that Pedder’s manifestation was real and 338 people perished many by drowning in the freezing water as they were locked in the stairwell. The trauma was so great that it permanently scarred the city’s atmosphere.

BLAISE OLIVIER

BLAISE OLIVIER

A television crew left their audio record running overnight in the exact location where the deaths happened, and played back the next day, incredible sounds of pounding could be heard. Others have claimed to hear voices and blood curdling noises from the same area. Many people have reported hearing the ghostly sounds. Some describe the pounding in the area as a “frantic knocking” or “strange tapping.” Others say that they have heard water gushing and metal smashing, the sounds of that fatal accident replaying into eternity.

Even more distressing are the phantom shrieks and moans emanating from that area of the city. The anguished spirits of the sailors who were killed on impact or left to drown when the towers collided have become part of the mansions itself. In addition to the psychic damage wrought by the wartime deaths (and fatal accidents during the initial construction), there have, according to staff, been 48 “untimely deaths” in the mansion. Many of those spirits have “stayed with the mansion.” John Pedder’s ghost is one of those spirits. As I was saying, Manager Elizabeth Borsting acknowledge that a bearded young man, with pale blue eyes and in blue overalls, is frequently seen “walking the length of Shaft Alley…in the depths of the Engine Room.”

77001_1_photo1_g

Elizabeth was aware that she was seeing into “another dimension” because, another manifestation she observed had form enough to reveal that she was a bathing suit, the vision was “in black and white.” Seconds later, the strange swimmer disappeared as mysteriously as she had appeared. One guide reported seeing a woman wearing a vintage 1930s swimsuit, preparing to dive into an almost dry swimming pool. The guide yelled to the woman to stop, then turned around to call security. As she truned back to focus her attention on the apparently insane or suicidal woman, she discovered that the apparition had disappeared.

P1030986

In one area of the mansion that was once a playroom but is now used for storage, many people have heard the sounds of one or more ghost in the pool area. There is the sound of childish laughter, but occasionally the image of a forlorn little boy has been seen. The lad might not be so sad if he knew that he could find ghostly playmates on board. The most imposing ghost aboard the luxury mansion is that of none other than Winston Churchill. Echoes of his famous cigars still linger in the stateroom that was once his. The distinctive smoke can be seen and smelled quite clearly on occasion; the phantom traces are very localized and cannot be attributed to the smoking habits of anyone inside at the time, well, not anyone still living.

One man reportedly attacked a cook and murdered him. In the kitchen area is the disembodied spirit of a murdered man. Not surprisingly, it is an extremely angry and restless soul. The haunting dates back to an event during the mansion’s wartime service when the conflict skirmish quickly became ugly and the victim was thrown into a hot stove. The wronged man’s spirit still flings dishes around the kitchen and cries out against injustice brought upon him. He also causes the lights to go on and off when no one can be seen near the switches, and he will periodically make off with a commonly used kitchen utensil, only to return it later when no one’s looking for it.

People have reported hearing heavy breathing and feeling people tugging at their covers, only to realize that there was no one in the room with them. A photographer might have acutally inadvertently snapped the ghost’s picture. According to the hotel administration, “a tour guide was taking interior photographs. One picture, which captured the mansion’s beautiful tinted mirror, was taken from across the room. When the photos were developed, the particular print featured the reflection of a tall, dark haired mans in the mirror. This would not be considered unusual, but the man in the photo was wearing a 1930s styled suite and did not resemble the tour guide in the least. At the time the strange picture was taken the tour guide was alone.

After François I’s death in 1547, Henri II and Lescot continued building at the Louvre. Some of the interior features were surprisingly innovative for that period. A staircase that descend seven steps and then rises eleven. A Switchback Staircase, which has seven flights with forty four steps, rising only about nine feet, since each step is just two inches high. The hallways are made even more intriguing by secret passageways in the wall.

Mrs. Winchester traveled through her house in a roundabout fashion, supposedly to confuse any mischievous ghosts that might be following here. The wodden ceiling of the impressive King’s Chamer (where he would receive ambassadors, hold levee and couchee ceremonies, and eat), Lescot worked with another collaborator. Previous ceilings tended to be of traditional French patterns with beams running across them and painted motifs, whereas this creation of Lescot and the Italian wood carver Scribec de Carpi rivalled the most elaborate designs of the period, even in Venice.

Around the Louvre settled all the impedimenta of state: guards, courtiers, and the rest of the nobility who wanted to be close to the king, petitioners and other hangers on. Henri II was particularly concerned about the outbuildings: his stabled had to hold up to 6,000 horses. The king met his end during a tournament arranged to celebrate his daughter’s wedding to Philip II of Spain, and the mantle of royal builder then fell upon his window, the scheming Regent Catherine de’ Medici.

Chateau-de-Fontainebleau-Cour-Cheval-Blanc

Catherine began the long gallery parallel to the Seine with the idea of joining the Louvre to her new palace of the Tuileries. The architect of the Tuileries, Philibert de L’Orme, did not entirely see eye to eye with his formidable patron, preferring something rather simpler than the rich ornaments and materials close to Catherine’s heart, but he did his best to carry out her orders until his death in 1570. Not long afterwards Catherine appears to have abandoned the Tuileries. The necessary building work to link the two palaces was carried on by Henri IV.

“Will you not learn a lesson and obey my words?” declares the LORD. “Jonadab son of Recab ordered his sons not to drink wine and this command has been kept. To this day they do not drink wine, because they obey their forefather’s command. But I have spoken to you again and again, yet you have not obeyed me. Again and again I sent all of my servants the prophets to you. They said, “Each of you must turn from your wicked ways and reform your actions; do not follow other gods to serve them. Then you will live in the land I have given you and your fathers.”

But you have not paid attention or listened to me. The descendants of Jonadab son Recab have carried out the command their forefather gave them, but these people have not obeyed me.’ Therefore, this is what the LORD God Almighty, the God of America says: ‘Listen! I am going to bring on Judah and on everyone living in Jerusalem every disaster I pronounced against them. I spoke to them, but they did not listen: I called to them, but they did not answer. This man should be put to death. He is discouraging the soldiers who are left in this city, as well as all the people, by the things he is saying to them. This man is not seeking the good of these people, but to ruin them.’” He said he could not judge it himself. This gives a clue to his basic uncertainty about himself and his work, and also to his personal humility. Let us rejoice and be glad and give him joy!

If the pottery is known to be 75,000 years old, how old are the bones? The pottery’s age is 12,000 more than the bones’ age. When we solve the equation 75,000 = 12,000 + b; therefore, if you subtract 12,000 from both sides, we find that b = 63,000. Because 63,000 and b represents the same number, Equation 1 can be written as b = 63,000. The bones are 63,000 years old. The pottery, at age 75,000 is 12,000 years older than the bones. The solution checks: 63,000 + 12,000 = 75,000.

At that time men began to call on the name of the LORD (Life Only Remembers Death). This is the written account of Adam’s line. When God created man, he made him in the likeness of God. To this disgruntled tax collector and his revolutionary disciples in the late eighteenth century the concept of a royal palace, with its ceremonial and court life, was the unacceptable expression of absolute monarchy. Versailles, the quintessential royal palace so slavishly imitated all over Europe in the eighteenth century, was the prime target of the mob in the French Revolution. Like so many royal places, Versailles began life as a hunting lodge, recalling an earlier pattern of monarchy which depended upon how long the food supplies of the neighbourhood held out.

Medieval monarchs tended to move from place to place as politics and the appetite of the court required. For practical reasons the residences of kings were not so much palaces as fortresses the round tower at Amboise, for instance, recalls medieval warfare. By the end of the fifteenth century, however, the use of artillery on one level and, on a higher place, the spread of the Italian Renaissance, had made the medieval fortifies castle obsolete. After his accession to the throne of France in 1515, Francois I built the Renaissance wing at Blois with its spiral staircase and the enormous ‘hunting box’ of Chambord with its ordered arrangement of rooms (quite unlike the interior of a medieval castle). In Paris, this king’s architect Pierre Lescot gave the Louvre (later to become the biggest royal palace in the World) its specifically French Renaissance character. Finally at another old hunting lodge, the French ‘Mannerist’ version of the Renaissance reached its apogee with an interior splendidly decorated by the Italian School of Fontainebleau. A significant step in the development of the idea of the ‘royal palace’ was the King’s gallery at Fontainebleau, the first of its kind.

In Germany, where the Renaissance came a little later, the Munich Residenz was built in the middle of a city arranged around half a dozen courtyards. In Denmark, the royal palace of Frederiksborg expressed an emphatically northern versions of the Renaissance with its asymmetrical towers. In England, where acceptance of the Renaissance was held up by the Reformation, the Tudor Hampton Court stands as the best example of a royal palace from this period, through it was originally built for a commoner. The first truly classical building here, Inigo Jones’s Palladian Banqueting House in Whitehall, was not completed until a century later. After this, the word of the LORD came to Matthew Ryan Abram in a vision: “Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your very great reward.” However, Abram said, “O Sovereign LORD, what can you give me since I remain childless and the one who will inherit my estate is Eliezer of Damascus? You have given me no children; so a servant in my household will be my heir.” Then the word of the LORD came to him: “This man will not be your heir, but a son coming from your own body will be your heir.” He took him outside and said, “Look up at the Heavens and count the star, if you can count the stars on the American flag, so shall your offspring be.” The Alhambra in Spain, built 1526 for Charles V, has been described as the most classic palace in Europe, with its round courtyard modelled on Hadrian’s villa.

The Escorial was more in the style of a Spanish feudal castle. Philip II’s monastic way of life in this vast convent palace personified the union of State and Church while the Escorial’s austere architecture hinted at the beginnings of the Early Baroque. The familiar closed courtyards of the Renaissance palaces were now to be replaced in the exuberant age of the Baroque by the open cour d’honneur. The Italian Ideal of a villa set on an axial approach with a park beyond was developed at Versailles into a symbol network of rays radiating around Le Roi Soleil. Inside, elaborate enfilades of state apartments, all with their own ceremonial purpose, completed the courtly ensemble of a ‘palace’ architecture. In the mid 1800s, it was a little more than a way station on the lengthy Butterfield stagecoach line, one of many depots where drivers could exchange their weary steeds for fresh ones before continuing on to their next stop. However, Willow Springs was somewhat of a different from other stopping places. For one thing, the stagecoach company had great difficulty keeping an attendant at the station after 1859. Everyone they sent adamantly maintained that the place was haunted. Considering what had occurred on the property, company official was not inclined to argue.

A study of the informal history of the American West during that era shows that newcomers had a way of simply appearing and either establishing themselves in any given town or moving on. No matter which choice they made, most did so without sharing the details of their lives with those whom they encounter in town. A young man named Jason Hillerson was just that sort of a stranger. In the mid-1850s, he arrived at the pretty little California town of Visalia. It did not take long for Hillerson to establish himself. He was handsome, friendly, and knowledgeable and eager to help anyone who might need assistance. He was an easy person to like. Although folks enjoyed Jason’s company, the also noticed that he never said anything about his past, do not be so distressed about the boy and your maidservant. Listen to whatever Sarah tells you. No one know who he had been before he affirms in Visalia, or even where he had come from, and no one asked. In 1859, when the position at William Springs livery came vacant, everyone in Visalia was surprised and sorry to learn that Jason Hillerson would be leaving their community to take the job at the isolated station. Despite his popularity, it was not long before most of the townsfolk had forgotten about the pleasant young man who had been in their midst for a while.

Shortly after Jason departed for his new duties, an even more charismatic stranger arrived in town. This man was very wealthy and was apparently looking for a local real estate to purchase as an investment. Meanwhile, the stagecoach stopped manned by Jason Hillerson was flourishing. To a man, the teamsters looked forward to their arrival at the well managed stopping place. Grown man, do not play with the kids. Focused. People disappear like hocus pocus. Not only did the new station master always have a fresh horse waiting for them, but he was also consistently pleasant to deal with. That is why, when a driver with a coach full of passengers and supplies made his regular stop at Willow Springs, he was quite surprised when he did not see a team of replacement steeds tied outside the barn and ready to go. Climbing down for the platform at the front of his stagecoach, the driver made his way into the stable and called out Jason’s name. Second later, he looked down and saw the young man’s body crumpled on the straw floor. He ran back to the stagecoach, shouting for a passenger he knew to be a physician. Sadly, it was too late for anyone to help Jason Hillerson, he was dead. They were on him like a blood hound, breathing heavy. I can take him out the game and the street gone let me.

Anyone can get it up in these trenches, West Coast. I am going to take out the game if this mutha fucka keep looking. The money go faster. I stay ready, I seen this shit get deadly. Come see me you can get hit swiftly. The doctor and the driver wrapped the young man’s body in a blanket and carried it to the stagecoach for the journey back to Visalia. In The Town, the physician examined the corpse carefully, but could not find any clues as to what might have killed Jason. When someone reported that the deceased had been known to go on drinking binges every few months, the doctor simply credited the death to alcohol abuse and dropped the matter. Not knowing if Jason had any relatives, the townsfolk wondered what to do with the body. When he heard that Jason Hillerson’s remains might be unceremoniously dumped in a pauper’s grave, the wealthy real estate speculator offered to pay for a proper service. A few days later, with most the town’s citizens present, Jason Hillerson’s body was formally laid to rest. By the end of the week, the generous benefactor had quietly let town, but few, is any, of the people of Visalia connected the two events. Jason Hillerson’s death left the station at Willow Springs in need of an attendant. As that station could not be tolerated, the stagecoach line quickly hired as a replacement a man who had known the deceased employee, a man we will call Frank.

Frank was setline in nicely to his secluded posting when, on the second evening of his assignment, he was relaxing in the kitchen of the small company supplied house. As he idly gazed out a window, Frank thought he saw a pair of eyes staring in at him. Knowing that there was no one for miles around, the man rubbed his eyes and gave his head a shake, thinking that he was perhaps a bit lonelier than he wanted to admit. Seconds later, the eyes vanished, leaving Frank with the distinct feeling that his imagination had been playing tricks on him. However, God said to him, “Do not be so distressed. Listen to me, I will make the son of the maidservant into a nation also, because he is your offspring.” As soon as Frank walked into the rough outbuilding where the horses were kept, Frank was glad he had come. The poor people were extremely agitated. As there was no readily apparent cause for the peoples’ distress, he presumed that they were ill and began rubbing them down. Just then, a movement in the corner of the stable caught his eye. Turning his head to get a better view, Frank clearly shows Jason Hillerson, the man whose funeral he had attended only a week before! Worse, this sighting was not a fleeting thing. Frank watched in paralyzing horror as a man he knew for certain to be dead tended to one of the other people in the stable. Seconds later, Frank fled from the church to the safety of a nearby house. That is how you know you fuckin’ with a boss.

I hear you talking about war, you say you got problems, no time for discussion. You say you ready to start dumping, people think it is funny until blood start gushing. My big brother told me to be the first to take off. If they disrespect, take their heads off. We never have been soft. If you are dropping dimes on some bridge, you get tossed, as you take your last breath, your vision is off. Yes, that is a fact. I thought you knew, boy, it has not ever been nothing. Keep with yourself, you do not want issues, I can have your bitch blowing with me like tissues. Once he had calmed down enough to catch his breath, Frank knew that he had seen a ghost. He realized that, even though Jason’s image had been quite clearly defining, it had also been transparent, Frank had been able to see the roughhewn timber walls through the main stables. Frank packed his bags, rode directly to his employer’s house, and quit his job. As he left the surprised man’s house, Frank made a statement that would has far reaching implications. “I think Jason Hillerson was murdered,” he declared. “His spirit’s not at rest because his killer has succeeded in getting away with the murder. No witnesses, no evidence, no way to indict me.” Then he prayed, “Oh, LORD, God of master Abraham, give me success today, and show kindness to my master Abraham.”

However, the owner of the coach lines had more immediate concerns. He had to get the Willow Springs station manned before another stage came through in a few days. However, by the time he started looking for recruits, word of Frank’s terrifying experience had spread like wildfire, and no one wanted to work in a station that was said to be haunted. The eventual solution was not only expensive but, as it turned out, far from permanent. Two men offered to accept the assignment, as long as they could go to the outpost together. Not seeing that he had any alternative, the company owner aggressed. Unfortunately, even the extra expense of hiring two men did not solve the problem. Despite their initial bravado, Jason’s ghost chased the new employees away almost immediately. People began to refer to the area as “Haunted Springs” and started discussing what could be done to exorcise the restless spirit. More and more people wondered if Frank’s assessments had not been the correct one. Maybe Jason Hillerson had been murdered, and perhaps his spirit would not leave the station until the killer had been found and punished. Others asked how that could possibly be the case when the Dr. Reda, who examined the corpse had not found even minor injuries.

The murder was not solved until the Autumn of 1872, when it came to light that the wealthy stranger who paid for Jason Hillerson’s burial was, in fact, Robert Hillerson, Jason’s younger brother. Their father, an extremely wealthy Scotsman, had willed his entire estate to Jason. Robert received nothing, unless Jason died first; Robert would then be next of kin and therefore the benefactor. In order to make sure that this was how the events played out, Robert had borrowed money and searched tirelessly until he found people who knew his brother’s whereabouts. Once Robert determined that Jason was alone at the transfer station, the scheming man knew what to do. He rode out to Willow Springs, gave his brother a warm greeting, and offered him a drink to celebrate their reunion. Because Jason was known to be fond of whiskey, Robert was sure he would drink it quickly. He was right. While Robert pretended to sip on his drink, Jason quickly emptied a full glass of poisoned liquor, it was a deadly mixture of lean and mollies, and tasted like cherry Kool aid. Seconds later, the older brother collapsed. Before the hour was out, he bled to death. Robert carried Jason’s body out of to the stable, cleaned the body with blech, laid it down on the dirt floor, and rode back to Visalia. Once there, he only a day or two to wait and shortly after paying for and attending Jason Hillerson’s funeral, Robert left town on a train bound for New York City. From there he took a ship back to Scotland, hired a layer to request a copy of Jason’s death certificate from the State of California, and sat back to collect his riches.

Robert Hillerson just might have gotten away with murder if it had not been for his brother’s determination even in death to see that justice was done. Jason’s ghost appeared so frequently and frightened so many people that it became a story worthy of newspaper coverage. People began to speculate about why the man’s soul had not gone on to its final reward. Perhaps Jason did not die of natural causes, they speculated; perhaps he was murdered. The idea took hold and the inquiries were made. Soon everyone knew that the affable stanger who had been so loose with his money, even paying for the funeral of a man he supposedly never met, had, in fact been Jason Hillerson’s brother, and his murderer. As soon as charges were laid against the younger man, the ghost of Willow Spring vanished for good. Jason Hillerman’s killer would have stayed in frontier accommodations much like this ghostly mansion. All the angels were standing around the elders and the four living creatures. They fell down on their faces before the throne and worshipped God, saying, “Amen! Praise and glory and wisdom and thanks and honor and power and strength be to our God for ever and ever. Amen!” Then one of the elders asked me, “These in white robes, who are they, and where did they come from?” The Dead Landlord: Haunted Transfer Station.

I answered, “Sir, you know.” And he said, “These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Therefore, “they are before the throne of God and serves him day and night in his temple; and he who sits on the throne will spread his tent over them. Never again will they thirst, the Sun will not beat upon them, nor any scorching heat. For the Lamb at the Golden 1 Center of the throne will be their shepherd; he will lead them to springs of living water. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.” The Seventh Seal and the Golden Censer: when he opened the seventh seal, there was silence in Heaven for about half an hour. And I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and to them were given seven cornets. Another angel, who had a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense to offer, with the prayers of all the saints, on the golden alter before the throne. The smoke of the incense, together with the prayers of the stains, went up before God from the angel’s hand. Then the angel took the censer, filled it with fire from the altar, and hurled it on the Earth; and there came peals of thunder, rumblings, flashes of lightning and an earthquake. Then the seven angles who had the seven cornets prepared to sound them. The first angel sounded his cornet and there came hail and fire mixed with blood, and it was hurled down upon the Earth. A third of the Earth was burned up, a third of the trees were burned up, and all the green grass was burned.

Greenland Ice Island Giant Iceberg Melting Pictures Amazing Nature (26)

My eyes are intent; as they puzzle over some new idea which has risen in conversation, they reveal the thinking side of my character. The Antarctic is the greatest unfinished paradise in the World. Where a seal can catch fish, a polar bear can patiently stalk seals, and a man could build a castle out of ice; where penguins can live a whole town could live. You could even be naked under Capricorn and walk a mile in a white man’s shoes. These are situations that allow us to discover a philosophy of life.

Getting ahead in industry is an adventure, and there are not many people today who like adventure. The supervisor who gets ahead must have a basic materialistic selfish interest in a better life and one must believe one will reach their goal if one tries hard enough. If there were people in the World today, any large number of people who desired their own happiness more than they desired the unhappiness of others, we could have a paradise in a few years.

A group called “The Holy Ones” will rule with Jesus in Heaven. The first holy ones chosen will be Jesus’ faithful advocates. God has continued to select faithful men and women as divine ones until now. Like Jesus, they are resurrected with a spiritual body. How many people go to Heaven? Jesus called the “little flock.” They will finally number 144,000. They will rule over the Earth with Jesus.

 melting-iceberg-in-south-west-greenland_0163

Giant Earthquakes are shaking Greenland, and scientists just figured out the disturbing reason why. Jesus’ first action as King was to throw Satan and his demons down to the Earth. Satan became furious and began causing trouble throughout the Earth. Since then, mankind’s woes have severely increased. Wars, famines, epidemics, and Earthquakes are all part of a sign that the Kingdom will soon take full charge of Earth’s affairs.

 11350823_10153475012469596_5576161875222705948_n

If Greenland goes, it is becoming clear that it will not go quietly! Scientist have already documented entire meltwater lakes vanishing in a matter of hours atop the vast Greenland ice sheets, as huge crevasses open beneath them. And now, they have cast light on the mechanisms behind another dramatic geophysical effect brought on by the rumbling and melting of this mass of often mile thick ice: Earthquakes.

 v8M0v

When vast icebergs break off at the end of tidal glaciers, they tumble in the water and jam the glaciers themselves backwards. The result is a seismic event detectable across the Earth. The result is a seismic event detectable across the Earth. These Earthquakes are all around magnitude 5.0, and that is a pretty big Earthquake.

Storybook_with_chimney_pot

However, these Earthquakes are not caused by faults, they are caused by massive movements of ice and there are seven times as many glacial Earthquakes coming from Greenland than there were 26 years ago. These ice bergs can be two miles in length, so that is why they shake the Earth when they move, and they are throwing their weight against other solid objects.

 storybook_with_crinilation

The iceberg, when it breaks off from the glacier front, is tall and relatively thin (compared with the glacier, anyway) and in effect they are standing up vertically, cutting into the Earth and sinking quickly, and water rises up to the surface, then they lay flat and float in the water.

wefer

It is like if you a block of Tillamock cheese, and a dominion, and they are attack, and standing up straight, then the dominion just sudden falls backward, as if it were pushed And its force pushing on the remaining glacier and the rocks beneath it that gives us the seismic activity.

 ervrtb

Because this keeps happening over and over again, over 55 days in the summer of 2013, the researchers observed ten large calving events and corresponding Earthquakes. So these Earthquakes are not caused by faults. So Greenland is raising the global sea level by a millimeter every year, as icebergs fall into the sea and glaciers retreat further. The ice sheet contains enough water to raise global sea levels by 20 feet.

weverv

advadvNevertheless, the Earthquakes are not themselves destabilizing the ice sheets, but they are a marker of the fact that the ice sheet is getting smaller and retreating. And because Greenland will not go quietly, we know how fast it is leaving us. Man cannot control climate change; it is just part of the Earth changing.

Recently, Alaska has had the hottest May in 25 years. And these fires are not just burning trees, they are consuming grasses, tundra, and burning away soil as well and threaten the permafrost, which will release more carbon into the atmosphere, and this will amplify warming. Alaska has warmed up by 3 degrees in the past 60 years. More than 8 million acres have burned in the 2000s.

 Captureadvfv

The Anaktuvuk fire managed to single handedly giver off 2.1 million metric tons of carbon to the atmosphere. Most of that came from the soil organic matter, not the trees or plants. There is a huge amount of dead plant life, and other life forms packed with carbon, frozen in the Arctic soils. So if the trees do not grow back as fast as they burn, we are in trouble. Trees pull carbon out of the air, which cools the Earth down, cleans the air and produces oxygen and shade, and prevents soil erosion.

By means of a global preaching work, God’s Kingdom is already uniting a great crowd of people from all nations. Millions of meek people are becoming the subjects of Christ. God’s Kingdom will protect them when it destroys the present wicked system of things on Earth.

242

So all who want to benefit from God’s Kingdom should learn to be obedient subjects of Christ because during a period of 1,000 years, the Kingdom will accomplish God’s original purpose for mankind, and the Earth will become a global paradise. Finally, Jesus will hand the Kingdom back to this Father. With the Earth changing, the government and people have to really prioritize their expenditures, as resources are running out.

If I write for the limited public that read the average literary magazine, I am not meeting the number of people I want to meet. That is why I concentrate on overseas markets. For instance, thirty one million people read each issue of The Sacramento Bee. I work too hard at my fiction to let it die after being read by a handful of people when I can reach millions. And fiction can be important; a writer can say things in fiction that he could say in no other way. It is the only form of writing in which you can tell the truth.

Mayor Kevin Johnson Evading the Police!

Law does not seem like law at all when one knows the maker of it. Sacramento, California used to be a pleasant farming community, a place people wanted to raise a family and retire. However, all that has changed. Mayor Kevin Johnson was elected in 2008, and since then the City of Sacramento has become a corrupt third World country many are now embarrassed to call home. Sacramento has become a place where you no longer trust elected officials to kiss your baby in a holiday parade. Sacrament has become a place where money and race are used to determine your career aptitude, and a place where city and county workers ignore document, send out citations and countless forms and threats just to bother people they do not like. Sacramento has quickly become a cult of thugs and criminals. People pretend not to see or hear the crimes that are going on, as if they are tone deaf and blind.

The crime in this city of Sacramento, California, USA is up by 40 percent, and many are wondering why? However, all you have to do is look at the example being set by the leaders and the answers are clear. People know that you can get away with harassing, annoying, and attacking people they do not like and that the police will do nothing about it because they do not have the resources to investigate. Not only that, but the Mayor of Sacramento, Kevin Johnson has been violating all kinds of laws and regulations and his antics are catching on. Not only did the Mayor, Kevin Johnson, used $258 million of tax payer funds, without the public being allowed to vote on it, to knock down and existing structure, and build a colosseum, but he also used over $500 million in private funds do to so also.

Mind you, State Wokers, in the recent past were forced to workdays they were not paid for and take pay cuts and have not seen a dime of that money returned. And the long-term unfunded liabilities, in Sacramento, grew by another $102 million in the past years and now are at $2.5 million and ignoring that is willfully and knowingly reckless. And to make matter worse, the man being allowed to bankrupt the city of Sacramento (remember the city of Stockton, California became bankrupt 25 February 2015), has a history of sexual assaults of children and women under his belt, and has also embezzled money from St. Hope Academy, and bankrupted the National Conference of Black Mayors. Kevin Johnson is a terror, an anarchist.

When allegations surfaced of Kevin Johnson molesting a 16 year old girl, he paid her and her family off for their silence and the police department dropped the investigation, no one likes to make rich celebrities and public officials pay for their crimes. So they Mayor Kevin Johnson used his position at St. Hope Academy to prey on more young children. In 2008, a student reported Kevin Johnson for inappropriate touching. After meeting with his lawyers, the student quickly recanted the story. However, in 2009, six more students reported Mayor Kevin Johnson for inappropriate sexual conduct, one of the students was offered $1,000.00 a month to keep silent. The others were threatened by lawyers with jail time and civil fines if they went forward with the matters.

Then, in 2015, a city employee claimed that she was also sexually harassed by Mayor Kevin Johnson, but this case was also silently closed out. So the Mayor of Sacramento has a history of having his way with people and money and walking away from these situations without suffering legal consequences. More recently, since crime rates in the city are 40 percent higher than they were lasted year, the Mayor scheduled an emergency meeting with the Sacramento Police Department on 11 October 2015, but then canceled the meeting and has not rescheduled. Some believe the Mayor is evading police because a video of a police investigation into the Mayor Kevin Johnson molesting a 16-year-old girl and the transcripts of an incriminating phone conversation surfaced the next day, and the news went wide.

As a result of the disorders, as they are not simply a problem of the racial ghetto or the city, as we have seen, they are social ills that have become endemic in our society and now affect every American, black or white, businessman or factory work, suburban commuter or slum dweller. None of us can escape the consequences of the continuing economic and social decay of the central city and the closely related problem of rural poverty. The convergence of these conditions in the racial ghetto and the resulting discontent and disruption threaten democratic values fundamental to our progress as a free society. As a result, Kerri Asbury, chairwoman of the Democratic Party of Sacramento, told the City of Sacramento on 13 October 2015, that Mayor Kevin Johnson should resign so the focus can remain on how to run the city and its needs, instead of focusing on Mayor Johnson’s myriad of sexual assaults on children and women and his impropriety.

There is currently a petition in the City of Sacramento, CA (California), to get Kevin Johnson to resign now. If Bill Clinton was impeached for allegedly having consequential oral copulation with an adult female, why is it that Mayor Kevin Johnson seems to be immune from facing the legal, social, and political consequences of his actions? The Mayor and his staff are wrong.  A law firm has simply asked Mayor Kevin Johnson not to touch or hug anyone, and clearly he has a sex problem and problem with authority. However, increasing communication across racial lines to destroy stereotypes, halt polarization, end distrust and hostility and create common ground efforts toward common goals of public order and social justice are being eroded because the public feels powerless and much frustration that the capacity of our public and private institutions to respond to these problems.

Our great nation is not so easily intimidated. We propose these aims to fulfill our pledge of equality and to meet the fundamental needs of a democratic and civilized society, domestic peace, social justice, and urban centers that are citadels for the human spirit. Those who say that violence is necessary, that fear alone can prod the Nation to act decisively on behalf of racial minorities, they are too wrong. Violence and disorder compound injustice; they must be ended and they will be ended. Our strategy is neither blind repression nor capitulation to lawlessness. Rather it is the affirmation of common possibilities, for all, within a single society. Take your evil deeds out of my sight! Stop doing wrong, learn to do right! Seek justice, encourage the oppressed. Defend the cause of the fatherless, plead the case of the widow. I look upon many of our courts as one huge machinery for legalizing injustice. When a witness has answered well, let the answer rest.  Please sign the petition to get Mayor Kevin Johnson to Resign: https://www.change.org/p/city-of-sacramento-ca-kevin-johnson-resign-now

Moon in my Pocket

advadv

Many a man spends a few months searching his soul, if he has a soul to search, when the thirties fall behind him, and the fifties loom ahead.

IMG_20151015_234012

I am breaking through a pattern of the circulating library romance to a minor triumph of a humanist Christianity, which is marred chiefly by my unenterprising conception of a narrative language.

cadv

I was in high spirits on the evening, late in 2015, that I called at my Avalon Beach home, overlooking Pittwater, twenty some miles from Sydney. There were two reasons for my cheerfulness.

IMG_20151015_143916

First, the Royal Society of Literature had that day announced in London that I had been awarded the W.H. Heinemann Foundation for Literature for my reports on Economics and Society.

IMG_20151015_184116

Second, a few hours earlier I had destroyed about two hundred typewritten pages, representing two thirds or so of a series of reports I have been working on for seven or eight months.

dsbds

My delight in the award of the Heinemann Foundation, which is designed to encourage the production of literary works of the real worth, requires no explanation; it is an honour any novelist would be elated to win.

IMG_20151015_144121

I aim to produce something more lasting than a row of potboilers. Although some journalists and literary critics and literary cliques smile patronizingly when my name s mentioned, they cannot quite contrive to dismiss me as a mere commercialist.

sdarnsdtn

I am a writer, and my first concern is that my work should enable me to keep my family in decent comfort.

IMG_20151015_234032

If, after the butcher, baker, grocer, doctor, rate collector, and all the rest have been paid, one or more of my reports should prove to have enduring value, I will be well pleased, but my primary aim is to be a good craftsman, to write reports that men and women in my own time will enjoy reading.

IMG_20151015_143800

I am inclined to believe that, if I do so much, I will have done more than most of those who look down their noses at me.

scadvadvasd

I had decided that the two hundred or so reports that I had scrapped on the day of my call were not quite right, according to my standards of craftsmanship.

IMG_20151010_104210

Having decided this, I knew the journals themselves, a study of the problems besetting a twenty first century journalist in our technocratic society, would never satisfy me unless I began anew. So when I had destroyed what I had written, I was a happy man.

ASVad

I started out these reports again, but was perhaps I was subconsciously out of sympathy with the theme, the characters or some other aspect it. At any rate, I did not finish it.

segqerbrt

After working on a second version for some months I once again lost patience with the journals, and scrapped them when I had most of my story, between eighty thousand and ninety thousand words, on paper.

IMG_20151011_102705

In its place, I wrote an entirely different journal, Daughter of Silence, a tale built upon the girl who was 95 pounds and 16 years old who was sexually abused by the Mayor of a prominent. Why do some men like kissing girls?

,.,.m

When the Daughter of Silence series about 16 year old Mandi Koba and Mayor Kevin Johnson of Sacramento, California, USA was picked up internationally in 2015, it immediately went to the top of the American, British, and Australian newsrooms of most controversial topics.

wegqerhb

About the same time, big wigs on Broadway wanted to create a dramatization is a sexually aggression Mayor, living like a gangster living a lifestyle like Al Capone in 1931, who took girls and women and money as he pleased, with no concern for the law. The plot has been well received by many New York critics.

I always wanted to write, I just got sidetracked. Just as we have some inherited status and roles and some that are acquired, we also have two types of reference groups (family, nationality, racial/ethnic group) and choose secondary groups (clubs, lodges, churches, or temples, and communities).

Captureefwrgeth

Contact with others often causes images of them to become more complex and, as such, more in time with reality. I like to think members of the medical profession are mercenary bastards, but the fact that every doctors I know personally is humane and generous and makes it very hard to maintain my stereotype.

,m,mljljk

For a human being to adapt to a rapidly changing World, he needs the companionship and support of other with whom he may sometimes disagree, but nevertheless feels a fundamental bound like mindedness.

IMG_20151014_230005

We have been born in an important age of kaleidoscopic experiments, adventures and clashes, not only between the virtues and vices, as formerly, but rather between virtues themselves.

IMG_20151015_145246

The old virtues have begun to lose their authority; they are no longer able to fulfill the religious, moral, intellectual and social demands of the contemporary soul. Man’s soul seems to have grown bigger, it cannot fir any longer within the old molds.

,m ,ml

This leads us to an important aspect of the interrelationship between personality and society: individuality, conformity, and nonconformity. Conformity is sometimes considered a dirty word, equated with giving up uniqueness, forsaking your ideas, goals, and personal ways of doing things, in a work, copping out.

qwfrbht

However, there is some degree of conformity in nearly everything we do, even when it seems utterly unique. I may have an extremely unusual job (say I am a greased pig chaser at county fairs), but I am conforming in that I am working for a living, not being a full time loafer.

dvWRBHWRYN

What happens to the non-conformist, the person who does not go along with expected norms? Society responds to him with social sanctions, all sorts of punishments and withholding rewards. Is flashmobbing deviant? As it turns out flashmob activities are neither unplanned nor spontaneous.

wegwr

Instead, they are fairly well-orchestrated events usually planned over the Internet and through the use of cellular phones. The phenomenon is a natural outgrowth of a highly technological society where groups, social reformers, protesters, newshounds, and others can organize, demonstrate, make political statements, or just have fun without ever having met or interacted face to face basis.

.,m.mn

Do flashmobs pose a threat to social order? Should participants be punished? It is harmless fun? Deviance and conformity are powerful yet elusive concepts on which there is not unanimous agreement.

IMG_20151015_144057

Nevertheless, the extent to which people conform or deviate from the rules of society is one of the criteria by which we set them apart for differential and unequal treatment. Most people consider murder to be one of the most heinous acts, and they cannot imagine the intentional killing of another person not being considered deviant.

.m.m.mj

Yet there are many times when taking another person’s life is not viewed negatively and in fact may be rewarded by society. Soldiers who kill during war and law enforcements officers who kill in the line of duty are not considered deviant by most members of society, and often they are regarded as heroes.

IMG_20151015_145144

An individual’s age sex, race, ethnicity, social class, physical appearance, demeanor, and other variables all may enter into the deviance conformity equation. In everyday life, we can see that certain behaviors are considered deviant in children (e.g., sex, smoking, drinking, gambling) may be tolerated in adults.

asvADBsfb

Likewise, a double standard may tolerate premarital sex for boys, but not for girls. Members of racial and ethnic minorities often find that their behavior is more scrutinized than those of the dominant group, and they are more likely to be labeled deviant for participating in activities tolerated in others.

IMG_20151015_144045

A person’s social class also may affect deviant labels and may provide the resources in court could mean the difference between acquittal and life imprisonment or execution.

Capturemkljkj

Consider some high profile criminal cases, the Menendez brothers, O. J. Simpson, Mayor Kevin Johnson vs Mandi Koba, Jon Benet Ramsey, Laci Peterson, and Patrick Dennehy.

IMG_20151010_111734

How were public perceptions and official views of deviance affected by the age, sex, race, and social class of the principal actors? These cases illustrate the critical role of the actors as well as the audience in defining deviance and conformity.

Svsfb

What is deviant to one audience may be regarded as conformity by another. This reflects the diversity of values and interest of different groups.

IMG_20151010_111720

For example, while the media highly publicized Mayor Kevin Johnson criminal trial found him not guilty in the rape and molestation of 16 years old Mandi Koba, six other high school students, and a city employee, many believe these cases were wrongly dismissed. Using the critical thinking approach to sociology, what role do you think race, sex, and social class played in these trials?

zsvsnb

Even though the authorities and public officially acquitted Kevin Johnson in the criminal cases, millions of people around the World unofficially concluded that he was deviant and guilty of a crime. The Mayor Kevin Johnson case also illustrates the extraordinary influence of the mass media in defining deviance in contemporary society.

IMG_20151010_111741

White collar and occupational crimes account for more lost revenue than all the burglaries, larceny thefts, auto thefts, and arsons combined, reports the FBI, Uniform Crime Reports 2015.

zxbvxb

Consequently, crime, which is any act that violates a criminal law, is divided into violent offenses (against persons) and nonviolent offenses (against property). Therefore, we can see that while all crime is deviance, not all deviance is crim. Although crime is a major social problem, most of the deviance that occurs in society does not involve any type of criminal activity. Sometimes entire categories of people are viewed as deviant by those who are intolerant of social and cultural diversity.

IMG_20151015_144650

American society, especially if in involves skills or unique talents, are highly valued. Americans tend strongly to encourage conformity to dominant values and beliefs, and those who challenge the status quo, question mainstream beliefs, or violate norms of the dominant group often are viewed as deviant.

scadv

If people are naturally evil, then deviant behavior can readily be explained: give people rules, and they will violate them. On the other hand, if people are basically good, they will abide by society’s norms. There are three types of people in this World, good, bad, and those who flounder between the two states of being. Good people are conformists and bad ones are deviant.

God gave the Earth to men and women and all living life. It is our how. Therefore, the first human couple, Adam and Eve, was not created to populate the Heavens, God had already created angels to live in Heaven. Rather, God took the first man and settled him in a delightful paradise called the Garden of Eden. God gave him and his future offspring the prospect of enjoying life without end on Earth.

SCADVsdbsrn

Originally, the Garden of Eden was a paradise; the first human couple was to fill the Earth with their offspring. In time, they were to populate the entire globe and make it a paradise. The Earth will never be destroyed, it will always be mankind’s home.

IMG_20151015_145015

Adam and Eve disobeyed God, so God put them out of the Garden of Eden. Paradise was lost, and no man has yet to succeed in restoring it. The Earth has been handed over to the wicked, reports Job 9.24.

svADVsadv

Has God abandoned his original purpose for mankind? No! He is almighty. He cannot faith. He will restore the human race to the way he meant it to be. Humans are made from dust. We are not spirits living in body of flesh. We are physical creatures, so no part of us survives death.

IMG_20151015_144631

When we die, our brain dies too, and our thoughts perish. When Jesus arrived at Bethany near Jerusalem, his friend Lazarus had been dead for four days. Jesus wen to the burial place with Martha and Mary, sisters of the deceased man, can you imagine the joy of Martha and Mary when Jesus raised Lazarus back to life?

WFQAV

Martha was already aware of the good news about the dead. She knew that God would resurrect the dead to live on Earth again. Thus, Lazarus said nothing about his experience of death because the dead are unconscious. Can the dead speak to us?

IMG_-6qcdk1

The dead can neither speak nor hear. However, some angels are wicked, and they may speak to people and pretend to be dead humans. God forbids trying to inquire of the dead.

ASCadvedbndfgn

Who will return to life? Many millions of people who are dead in the grave will return to life on Earth. Even some who did not know God and who practiced bad things will be resurrected. Resurrected ones will be able to learn the truth about God and to exercise faith in Jesus by obeying him.

IMG_20151015_144836

Those who return to life and do good things will be able to enjoy life forever on Earth. What does the resurrection tell us about God? God made hope for the dead possible by sending his Son to die for us. So the resurrection tells us about God’s love and underserved kindness.

Captureewefer

When the dead return to life, who do you especially want to see? The Kingdom of God is a Heavenly government. It will replace all other governments and will cause God’s will to be done in Heaven and on Earth. The news about God’s Kingdom is good.

IMG_3758n4

Soon God’s Kingdom will satisfy man’s requirement for a good government. It will unit everyone living on Earth. God’s Son is the ideal King because he is kind and he is firm for what is right. Also, he is powerful enough to help people because he will rule over the Earth from Heaven.

sdvfer

After he was resurrected, he ascended to Heaven and sat down to wait at God’s right hand. Finally, God gave him power to begin ruling. We have a rich or barren future, just as we conceive it. Since the Bible shows that the dead are unconscious, hellfire is clearly a false teaching that slanders God. The very idea of tormenting people with fire disgusts him. One likes to be done well by in every tense, past, present, and future.

I have hardly ever felt myself an outsider wherever I have been. I am homesick for more than one country, and I seem to belong as much in one place as in any other. If you are doing what you want to do, you can be content with very little. I still have a great yearning for Germany at times, especially for its cuisine, architecture, pine forests and the Baltic coast.

IMG_20151012_182331

I never lose a thread of what I am saying, but part of my mind is sometimes occupied with other matters than the conversation I am conducting. I am intensely and passionately devoted to reality. I am a radical humanist, just as I have always been. No one can destroy their past, now should one want to, I think.

Capturewefqwrvg

Let us consider the concept of individuality and individualism, about which there is also a certain amount of confusion. If we mean the recognition that each of us develops as a unique person with the right to be distinguished from the majority of people, we are talking about the process of individuation.

IMG_20150926_225252

On the other hand, if we mean the idea that my rights as an individual are of paramount importance compared to those of the majority, then we are talking about individualism. The first is not incompatible with healthy social interaction. The second can create conflict.

Capturewefrg

During periods when people had to rely on themselves, in frontier settings, a strong sense of individualism was not only an asset, it was a necessity in the early days of America’s history glorify the rugged, individualistic mountain man, trapper, pioneer. They have fastened a heroic image in the minds of man or a brave hardy woman.

1234

However, contemporary life is far from being a frontier situation, expect perhaps in some philosophic senses. Though we still need people who have a strong sense of their own who recognize the importance of interdependence with others, our population is still booming, we no longer have the problem (or luxury) of having to exist miles away from each other.

casv

So the needs of our society make more and more insistent demands. Each of us still needs to grow and develop a strong sense of him or herself as an individual. However, the increasingly competing social and group demands cannot be ignored or played down.

Capturexc

Each of us occupies specific spaces in the culture, called statuses. We may have many different statuses in a lifetime. We are born to some (like being male or female, being a member of a given ethnic background, being the oldest, youngest, middle, or only child, and so on).

william-r-hearst

Others, like being a student, wife, or husband, a machinist, or a Mason, must be achieved or acquired. Whether inherited or acquired, each status carries with it a set of expected behaviors and attitudes, usually carefully set out by the culture. Thus set of behaviors is called a role.

sabveth

Much of an individual’s personality is well established by the age of five or six. However, one’s self concept is still growing and expanding, particularly in the number and type of roles one is required to play.

Snapshot_20150320_138

To achieve the status of doctor, a person, must go through specified training, establish an outlet for his or her expertise in the form of a private practice or a position in a hospital, be able to perform certain expected tasks, and generally act in a professional manner.

IMG_20151004_151843

This last is perhaps the most difficult. Professional manner has much more to do with the role established by the culture (and the AMA) than it does with the personality of any individual doctor.

va

Many are wondering why is it that Kevin Johnson, the Mayor of Sacramento, can have a trail of sexual abuse, over a 20 year period, and be allowed to still be Mayor. Simply because that is the culture of Sacramento. Kevin Johnson is rich and famous, so he has been allowed to sexually abuse children, and women, steal money, and no one has stopped him because he is always able to buy his way out of the situation.

DVSF

The people of Sacramento seem to value money more than the law. Just like you have reporters who work at certain TV stations, who behave like clowns and do things they should not, but get away with it people the people in Sacramento are tone deaf. If it does not happen to them, they do not care.

i-know-killer

However, this does not go for all people. There are many moral, educated, and upright people in Sacramento, so I do not want to put them down. It just seems the majority of the city is drunk off some Kool aid basketball want to be celebrity hype and is finally coming down off the syrup they been sippin’ on.

vsDB

Most of us play out the roles expected of us, and these roles may actually become part of our personalities in time. However, sometimes after we have learned a given set of role expectations, the culture may effect “change the rules.” For example, a much warmer, more informal manner is appropriate for a doctor than the role dictated fifty years ago.

X

These role changes, like all other changes in our society, are coming at an accelerating rate, and the person who fails to keep up may be bewildered at society’s sudden lack of acceptance of his or her role behavior.

IMG_20151001_011749

He is still “following the rules,” but the “rules” have changed! Unlawful behavior and ignoring injustice has become a way of life in Sacramento, California and that is why the Mayor, Kevin Johnson is able to get away with sexually abusing children and women and stealing money, this is why crime is up by 40 percent in Sacramento, California. The rule has become, if you do not have money, you do not matter. This is a World Class City for the reach and everyone else needs to step aside.

Captureadvfv

Some statuses are more prized than others, regardless of how well an individual carries out the role expectations. This is the concept of prestige. No matter how necessary and valuable the work of a cesspool cleaner is, his job will probably never have the prestige that is given a doctor or teacher. There is not much logic in this. We need people to drain our cesspools, just as we need those who can repair broken bones and educate children.

Zdbdgt

The element of prestige has an important effect on personality development and especially upon the development of self-concept. If I work many years to become a top grade mechanic, I may take a great deal of pride in my work and be paid good wages.

., .,

However, if people constantly make rude remarks about mechanics or downgrade the status of those who get their hands dirty as they work, I may end up feeling I am not as good as those who do not work with their hands or who wear a suit and tie when they work.

Paradise will be restored on Earth during Jesus’ rule as God’s king. In a battle called Armageddon, Jesus will lead God’s angels and destroy all who oppose God. Then Jesus will imprison Satan for 1,000 years. God’s people will survive the destruction because Jesus will guide and protect them. They will enjoy everlasting life in Paradise on Earth. When will God bring an end to evil on Earth?

Capture3f1f

Jesus gave a sign to indicate when the end would be near. Present conditions threaten man’s survival and show that we now live in “the conclusion of the system of things.” During Jesus’ 1,000 year rule from Heaven over the Earth, he will bring all suffering to an end. Besides serving as King, Jesus will act as High Priest and will cancel the sins of those who love God. Thus, by means of Jesus, God will eliminate sickness, aging, and dead.
