The Game Changer

The Law is still, in certain inevitable cases, the pre-engaged servant of the long purse. You are surrounded on all sides by rivals trying to outwit, out risk, or outright intimidate you into a potentially fatal error, even the one who cares about you is in on the game. However, keep in mind that failure brings benefits. You may not have successed yet, and think all of these obstacles are in your way, but you have an advantage. Failure forces us to revisit old certainties when things do not turn out as planned. It requires us to impose ambiguity on causes we assumed we understood. Failure can be a good thing and success can be detrimental.

Failure when you are at the peak of your career can be a spectacular psychological blow. It can be like watching a beautiful star fall from the Heavens. It once was stellar and pristine, but as it descends, it loses it positions in the Heavens and gyrates like Elvis trying to hold on to his crown. People watch in amazement as it sinks further and further to the ground, as it still drags it dreary length before the World, perennially hopeless. However, we are very excited and trying to keep our feet firmly planted on the ground. We must not get carried away.

Triumphs do not inevitably lead to failure; just as botched efforts do not always inform victories. Some stay successful, while others remain failures. After looking at the dangers of a high need for closure, whether spurred on by trauma or unrelated anxiety, a high-stakes negotiation, inconclusive medical results, or a changing business environment, there are also other things to take into consideration. Think about how to solve pictures that have no clear answers. Embrace the mind state of uncertainty—which requires accepting and cultivating ambiguity because it can help us innovate.

Starting a relationship is much like a business and most people want to limit the amount of damage caused by not knowing what relationships will work out or not. A strategy they often employ is they consult their friends. And their friends allegedly tell them things like, “It is not worth it.” Or “You can do better.” And so the individual then focuses on a greater number of people and relays the message back to the person they are dating. The purpose is to make them feel unworthy and like they need to try harder and be understanding that the person they are interested in is going to continue to play the field, while you convince them that you are the best option for them, and maybe if you do a compelling job, they will settle for you.

However, failure is part of the process of a relationship, you have to experience trial and error. After all, the love of your life is out sowing their wild oats and giving all of these other people a chance, while you are at home waiting on them. With the changing of times, clearly trying to be a virgin until marriage has its disadvantages, people are out trying to be popular and make a name for themselves, not trying to find a winner. Being promiscuous and popular seems to make people more appealing to the masses.

However, if you want a real relationship, originality is what is required. You have to venture out into the unknown, dwelling in uncertainty, and learn from missteps. A the less time you spend with a person, the less likely you are to know if your relationship with even work out. Sure, Howard Stern and his beautiful wife may tell you buying a Maserati is not worth it for you. Perhaps they are saying that because they know you are abusive and would hate to see such a nice car be destroyed. Others might tell you it is not worth it to buy a Maserati because they cannot even qualify for a test drive.

Life is but a graver sort of mummery, and the second of its rarest secrets is to make others fancy us what we wish to appear—the first being, without question, the faculty of deceiving ourselves. I have seen people tell others that they are dating to hold on, and that their friends say “you are not worth it.” Yet, in the meanwhile, this same person is out partying and spending money on a prostitute, and not just chump change, other the years he spent millions on her rent, car, education, clothes, makeup, hotels, and jewelry. Yet, just taking you to lunch is not worth his time, and he stopped showing up for your free walks in the park.

A reporter confronts you and says, “This guy only wants you when his career is slipping and his life is out of balance, the moment you start writing him love letters and telling him how to deal with his problems, he abandons you and is out partying with prostitutes and guys.” Between 70 to 80 percent of new relationships flop because one person decided it is best to play the field and have someone at home waiting for them. Most of the other people, besides the one at home, is also playing the fields and using him as advertisement to attract richer and more popular guys, not everyone is looking for love.

Some people are only dating because they want opportunities. And sex seems to open up the window of opportunities for many people. By having sex, a person was able to steal your man, and get him to spend money on her, now she is getting job offers and her college tuition is getting paid. Other people have sex because it brings them revenue and companionship. They will settle down with a man because he is rich and can provide for them, not out of love. Yet, today’s economic instability and globally competitive markets have also made staying on top harder than ever. The next guy is always richer, more desirable, and has a better job. So people are starting to see that they have to be far more innovative to keep others interested in them, who are just on a paper chase.

The thing about dating is tomorrow’s workforce needs to handle the uncertainty and failure that go along with innovation. Unfortunately, today’s students are woefully unprepared. They let people get into their hands and play games with their hearts and focus on all the things are could possibly undesirable. However, still having your virtue, being isolated, and attractive are good qualities, you are not being passed around like a flask of moonshine. And although you want to hold on to your virtue, also focus on your qualities.

It is my belief (DO NOT TRY THIS WIHOUT TALKING TO YOUR PARENTS, DOCTOR, OR RELIGIOUS AUNHORITY) that by not laying with anyone, you give off a different chemical essence, and would be like a drink a fresh water on a hot desert day, after walking into a bar. So, while you are thinking, “Love is painful, what do I have to lose?” consider the consequences, you may have the time of your life and realize that you just want to have a friend with benefits and no strings attached (keep this in mind), but you could also get physically, emotionally and financially robbed.

The World hath a secret deeper than beauty, and Life some burdens heavier than death. You do not hit the same shot twice in a role with the same club. When it comes to dating, people usually choose a club, execute a few practice swings, spill some balls from a tall bucket, and then start hitting. After a while, they switch clubs and smack another batch.

Most people are players. When you are playing eighteen holes of golf, you have to be inventive. The threat of unwanted pregnancies, abuse, sexually transmitted infections, and broken hearts is not enough to convince society that monogamy is the way to go. People are switching clubs, the slopes of the course are changing, and the ball is always in a different position relative to the hole. A better way to practice dating is to train to face new and shifting challenges.

Dating a player, for a prolonged time increment has its benefits. The practice range has its use, of course. For building basic skills, repetition is great. Okay, you see you man is constantly out with other people, sitting in their laps, holding their hands, and out to dinner with them. Hitting buckets of balls is what he should be doing. He has to learn the baseline mechanics of why he is a horrible person, without you telling him, just as you need to memorize these basic equations to stop letting your heart get broken. You are learning to distinguish between learning skills and another, equally important kind of learning that we call transfer practice. This is not going to be your first and only relationship.

Instead of treating this player’s technique as the be-all and end-all, the emphasis is training to face playing situations. Ideally, you want this play to practice on the widest range of golf courses under different conditions so you can get all the hurt, pain, and anger out of your system. In the business World, your man is going to look like this player you are focusing on, but this difference is he will actually be committed to you financially, physically, and emotionally, so he is not going to hurt you for sport, like a player might.

Getting all of these emotions out, before you met the right man, if it does not kill you, you will be better prepared for a good relationship. And trust me, even without touching you, a relationship can be abusive and deadly by how a person treats you and what they expect.

Have you ever had someone highlight the necessity of stumbling, errors, and luck in developing breakthrough innovations? My friend told me the story of her grandparents. Her grandmother was the sweet lady, and she loved her husband’s work. Although she was not rich, she supported the household, as he was always away on business. She would clip his articles out of the paper and read them, analyze them, and write him letters to tell him what a great journalist he was, and how he was one of the best in the business, and it was true, but for some reason, no one wanted to work with him, and his roles started getting smaller and smaller, and he was not winning any Emmy’s.

Now, I know most men would be happy or deeply in love with someone who did this, but not this particular grandfather, it just made his ego get bigger and him party even harder than he had been in the past. While he was getting work because of the things she was saying about him and his performance, people started meeting him, and did not like him. He became popular in the party circuit.

The benefit of keeping grandma a bit off-kilter, as he puts it was it removed all of her irrelevant anxieties and she sought to add more relevant ones. The man knew he was close to pushing this woman to suicide by playing with her heart the way he did, but it brought him scintillating pleasure. And although she was not saying anything about him, nor his behavior, but actually defending him, it made people worry about her.

Grandpa, on the other hand, was a very rare and useful species: a practitioner, a researcher, and a journalist. When he encounters new research, he teases out what he wants to get, before leaving you dead on a hotel room, dying from a broken heart.

I hate all dreams of perpetual peace. All wonderful cities of the Sun, where people consume their joyless monotonous years in mystic contemplations, or find their delight like Buddhist monks in gazing on the ashes of dead generations of devotees. The state is one unnatural, unspeakably repugnant: the dreamless sleep of the grave is more tolerable to the active, healthy mind than such an existence. However, grandma is preparing to transfer what she learned to the outside World, where it really counts. Could you really love a person who told a kid Christmas was coming, but never actually gave them a present?

In any relationship find and identify your mistakes. Argue on behalf of unfamiliar positions, and sometimes you have to take on relationships you will fail at. Maybe you never even planned to allow it to go on for a year, but he kept threatening to harm himself or go back to partying and being promiscuous.

And did you notice in the process of you sticking around, the only thing he did not do is harm himself. After a year, you tried to break up with him, but again he makes you worry about his safety. Yet, while you are at home suffering and crying, he is out partying. Also, the average adult has sex two times a week, and he has not touched you so in this time period he has had about 96 encounters with others.

In this year, you should have spent time analyzing your mistakes, not his, because you made many. This will help you move beyond shallow relationships and recognize players. “Live life like if I want to, I do if I want love, I get it. Fooled me twice, if I fall for you, if I go there, I forget it. So you better stay up, player, you better keep up, player, because tonight is a game-changer.”

“Playing with fire, if I burn, you do. If I hurt, you will not let it. Stacked my deck like I am not going to lose. Like a victim, forget it. You and I make so much love, why you got me all messed up? Yeah, I be holdin’ back, but it is not enough.” He goes on to tell her she is a man, and cannot resist the people he meets in the elevator, and that he be rolling ‘round in the bed smacking them on the rear, and that he keeps her on the back burner because she is nobody and she is not even rich.

Failure is part of a relationship, and confusions is, too. Being confused can be very disconcerting, especially when you are under pressure to perform. Think of this confusion as an opportunity to learn, not as a failure or an obstacle to understanding. Whether we try to avoid an ambiguity or seek to explore it, this hinges partly on whether we feel threatened.

As stated earlier, Grandpa was grumpy, unhappy, unpopular, and lacking work, but as soon as he started seeing grandma, his life turned around. However, as grandpa got happier, he lost his taste for the recognizable warm glow of familiarity he had with grandma, as she made him more desirable to others, she deteriorated into a yawn.

Grandma was grandpa’s source of power, that is where he would return after being missing for two or three weeks. Whereas when he needed her in the past, he was there every day. However, grandma used this as an indication to keep thinking. She realized she did not like the way he made her feel about herself nor her body, and often times people come alive when they World breaks down. This was a signal that she needed to attend to information at deeper levels of comprehension. She realized that this man was doing nothing for her, he was not paying her bills, they were not married, he spent less and less time with her and never gave him money.

One night (he imposed his way into her life), as she was rushing to meet him, she did not take dinner out on time because he knew when she would go to the gym, and would be there when she was expected, being that was her only time to see him, she would neglect other areas of her life.

As stated, not that his life was getting better, he spent less and less time with her and even stopped going to the gym. So one night when her dinner was not ready on time because she was rushing to see him, she ended up making a very expensive error to something she cared about, and it made her sad. At first, she blamed everyone and everything, and yes, they all made some errors, but after sleeping, grandma realized the mistake was a warning.

Basically, it was for her to call attention to this relationship and realize it is abusive and not something she wants anymore. Now, grandpa has no say in the matter because there are no strings attached. The two do not live together, they are no financially connected, and they are not married, so she could walk away, and his has no way of pulling her back in. He can threaten to harm himself, but I doubt she would care at this point.

Grandpa had come into unexpected success, and that led him to grow overconfident and less creative. Whether people succeed or fail, the moral of the story is people have eyes and ears and hear how you treat others. Abuse is abuse, even if a person allows you to put them through it. However, in a case like this one, she could not be forced to stay with him, as there were not string attached, except the ones he graciously plucked out of her heart.

Grandpa would fail on rotten luck, and he would blame grandma, he would not think about his reputation, poor performance on insufficient talent, but would also interpret success as evidence of his own gifts. While grandpa was becoming less and less attractive to clients and other firms, executives starts saying, “Are we misinterpreting which aspects made him a hit? Which parts of the production process can we improve? What are the issues that success has had on him and what have we been encouraged to ignore that could affect future decision? What was the role of luck in his success?”

People are often ruined by their own success because of how they treat others because success convinces us that we are doing things the right way. However, there is a danger of repeating ourselves, or getting to satisfied.

So un your elevation in the career World, embrace others, learn that you need to embrace uncertainty, and also know if people know you are abusing your source of inspiration and have abused your past partners, but show nothing but love for prostitutes and players, no matter how good you are at your job, no one is going to want to invest in someone who abuses others. For example, after beating Rihanna, Chris Brown is no longer allowed to play in Australia.

Also, established celebrities are so egotistical, sometimes, they think by connecting with others might hurt their careers, these established celebrities do not look at the impact they have no the people who support them. Tinashe is a new singer, and very beautiful with the voice of an angel. He major hit got over 100 million views. However, one she did with Chris Brown, which is arguably a better song and she shows more skin, well, Tinashe lost over 90 million viewers.

And while promoting the brands of a celebrity helped him get verified and a few new jobs, being connected with him actually caused the ratings of an up and coming journalist to fall. He started getting messages like, “I never thought I could hate you, but if you keep using so and so in your work, I will stop reading it.” And, “I’m sick of seeing him, he is old and ugly and mean!” The anchors noticed that they stopped using this celebrity and stop producing, they would see a spike in ratings.
People were still interested in the work, and seem to seek it out. In any field, we gain true confidence when we allow our idea and successes to be continuously challenged. Our most important beliefs should have no safeguard to rest on, but a standing invitation to the whole World to prove them unfounded. Being only human is no excuse, aspire to be a God. Our lives are our Amens. LORD your unfailing love, silence my enemies; destroy all my foes, for I am your servant.

White Squall White Collar

Only those who know the supremacy of the intellectual life—the life which has a seed of ennobling thought and purpose within it—can understand the grief of one who falls from that serene activity into the absorbing soul-wasting struggle with Worldly annoyances. Intellect is itself a mode of exaggeration, and destroys the harmony of any face. The moment one sits down to think, one becomes all nose, or forehead, or something horrid. Everyone will speak of the fair as his own market has gone in it. We can build an awareness of what we do not know about the future into our approach to the World by crafting methods to react quickly to change rather than trying to predict it. Ambiguity does not have to be paralyzing or distasteful. The end of uncertainty is the death of interest. There is no such thing as living without being beholden to somebody. Nothing, next to curiosity, makes a man so true to his appointment as interest. It is an age so full of light, that there is scarce a country or corner of Europe, whose beams are not crossed and interchange with others. Under the right conditions, as we will see, embracing uncertainty can in fact provide opportunities to innovate. It can inspire creative solutions, and might even make us better people. A time comes to every one of us when we cannot help ourselves, and then we must get others to help us. The fox’s case must help when the lion’s skin is out at the elbow. This scarecrow of a suit has, in course of time, become so complicated, that no person alive knows what it means.

The parties to it understand it at least; but it has been observed that no two Chancery lawyers can talk about it for five minutes, without coming to a total disagreement to all the premises. A group of boys joins a sailing vessel to take a life experience class as a way of seeing the World and completing their last years of high school on a ship called the Albatross. The boys learn to work together and act as a team, Gil Martin goes from crying and wetting his pants, to becoming a charming young man and a brave scholar, as the boys discover discipline life, and comrades on an ill-fated sailing voyage, as the storm one of the most intense storms ever hit was on its way. As the boys and the crew shove off on their way into the bright future, striking without a warning—a white squall hit. These are violent metrological events, with 150 miles per hour winds, 50 – foot waves, and potentially 25 inches of rainfall per minute, there is so much wind and rain that it is difficult to see. While navigating a ship, white squall can skin your boat into the unusually light abyss. Combating its dangers means design institutions and processes that make us less likely to succumb to our natural tendencies toward resolution when it matters most. The right negotiators will stay calm in the face of fluid, incomplete, and seemingly contradictory information. The right reminders at decision points will lower own requirement for closure.

We also are requiring to recognize that we cannot always resolve ambiguity by seeking out more information. As we saw in the film White Squall, all seeking out information on the accident did was ruin people’s lives because they were getting close to uncovering the fact that Gil Martin was drugged and locked in his room, and forced to go down with the ship. In times of stress, psychological pressure compels us to deny or dismiss inconsistent evidence, pushing us to perceive certainty and clarity where there is neither. Unpleasant anxiety, like what Gil Martin experienced when he found himself floating in water up to his neck, while the door was bolted shut, can compel us to seize and freeze on ideas and beliefs in areas of life completely unrelated to the source of that anxiety. When we feel something is off balance, like a ship hit by a 50-foot wave, rain, and hurricane force winds, we have seen that we can try to uncover the origin of the imbalances in conflicting or ideas or events. For instance, when the boys where on the ship and the dolphin came by, they ran out of the classroom to see it and play with it. However, Frank Beaumont was forced to go on the ship and did not want to be there and had threaten to shot one of the boys while his back was turned, but decided to shoot and kill the dolphin instead. We have explored how the urge to resolve ambiguity is deeply rooted, multifaceted, and often dangerous. As we make decisions, we need to recognize both the consequences of a decision and our current requirement for closure. In doing so, we can avoid grasping for new solutions in panic or sticking too rigidly to old ones.

Being humble and flexible as a matter of character is one thing. Constructing a new business model predicated on not knowing is another. Self-satisfaction is a terrible trap if you want to achieve anything important. Ambiguity tolerance is one of the most critical variables linked to higher financial performance. I have been using the term uncertainty to refer to the mind state caused by facing ambiguous information. When the white squall hits the Albatross, Skipper Sheldon gives the crew specific instructions, but the member guiding the questioned the accuracy of the order given and made his own decision on how to steer the ship, which may have proved to be a fatal decision. In forecasting, we should distinguish another cause of feelings of uncertainty: risk. Risky choices are those where the outcome is not known but the odds of success are. By following his own mind, the sailor does not know if he caused the ship to crash, ignoring the Skippers orders was like flipping a coin, you do not know that outcome of your choice. Ambiguous choices—the focus of White Squall is unknown because the rules determining the outcome are unclear. The Skipper was an experienced sailor, and knew the odds of his orders over unclear probabilities, introduced by this seaman, even when that preference is not rational.

How we make predictions based on unclear odds affects a range of personal decisions. Like when Gil Martin overcomes his fear of height and climbs the mast on the ship, and makes it to the top and down without having an accident. In the real World, few big decisions have relatively clear, and entirely known odds. Even the likelihood of our daily choices, we do not have the information to know exactly what will happen. The reason Skipper allowed the Cuban war ship’s crew to come on the Albatross and check everyone’s passports, even though they had fired at them, which was act of war and illegal, Skipper figured letting the hostel Cubans to board the Albatross was the best decision because it might prevent a deadly combat. In the business World, mishandling ambiguous odds can be especially detrimental. It can lead to death or bankruptcy. When committed strategies do succeed, they pay off because of the lag time it takes for other firms to catch up. The Cubans find everything on the Albatross in order, and are more humiliated than a bankrupt company, and bust the navigation system up so the crew will have to manage just to merely survive while find their way on this journey. With no navigation, anyway you turn has the greatest possibility of success and also the greatest possibility of failure, and breakthrough of success often hinges on lucky bets and beautiful stars.
Wars, oil prices, natural disasters, a bolt of lightning that that ignites a fire and burns down a sail, the list of unknowns that can make or break a business is endless. If a white squall really does exists, it is frighteningly easy to make ordering decisions that result in returning inventory problems. Cisco once wrote off a $2.2 billion loss in supply chain disaster in which they spent two billion dollars on raw materials, parts, and products that it had no hope of either selling or using. The company also terminated 18 percent of its staff, over 8,000 employees. In 2013, Target’s sales in Australia were suffering under an estimated $100 million in surplus product that included unsold winter gear. The easiest way to liquidate extra stock is to discount it, dump it, or destroy it. That is why Frank’s father went to visit Frank while he was in the middle of his trip on the Albatross, it was a death mission and he wanted to have a steak dinner with his son, as he would later be collecting his life insurance money, which is why Frank knew shooting the dolphin was the best way to abort this suicide mission. One company even advertises its talents in destroying expired inventory like unsold board games, toys, and sports cards on these ships to collect maximum profits. In any case, you are losing money. Human capital, livestock, and the environment are the most valuable assets known to man. If you are forced to discount stock, moreover, you often have to take more losses to advertise the discounts. Skipper advised his wife, Dr. Alice Sheldon, and she was lost like luggage in the white squall.

Treasury Wine Estates, one of the World’s largest vintners, recently announced that it would have to dump $35 million worth of old and obsolete wine and increase discounts and rebates to the sum of $40 million, this news caused the company’s shares to fall by 12 percent. Navigating the sea calmly during a white squall can be especially tricky in the ready-to-wear Captain’s hat industry. According to experts, the deaths on the Albatross were the result of inventory and navigation issues. The bullwhip effect of going against Skipper’s orders caused the normal ebbs and flows in wave’s demand into a costly nightmare. The unpredictable and distorted information led to every entity on the ship from the captain or master to the third mate to face uncertainties and variabilities. That is too much of an adjustment for an inexperienced member to make and caused them to experience the bullwhip effect. At its root, overcorrecting caused the ship to overact to ambiguous odds because a crew member assumed that he could predict more about the future than is actually possible. Fortunes, as well as reputations, were at stake. We have a multimillion-dollar business to run, and we are not laughing all the way to the bank. Our whole economy is based on planned obsolescence. The ghost of couture detail the true cost of reckless behavior. In theory, by cutting out the storeroom (and intermediary), you could reduce the uncertainty of not having full control over your purchase. All sorts of purchases, in fact, can serve to reduce the anxiety of various mental conflicts. We would all like to buy our way out of life’s troublesome trade-offs.

Maybe we want to have duck dinner with Buck, but only have cash for one, or maybe we want to make our mortgage payment but also desperately need a vacation. Or maybe we do not have enough time to both achieve our career goals and raise a family. Only the well-off have the means to purchase their way out of these inner conflicts, while low-income families are stuck grappling with the unresolved stress such contradiction cause. Rich shoppers are likely to buy more than they need to escape uncertainty. Some will only restock what has been purchased instead of trying to anticipate demand. Forecasts would not trigger production—consumer decisions would. The Albatross was littered with morbid tales of shipwrecks, and also had a mythology, for good measure, also including folk tales of dark magic and witchery. The ship had said to have ghost walking the deck and in the rooms. Gil Martin learned the Albatross had been owned by gangsters in the 1940s and that a number of people met violent deaths on deck. Then the doors started slamming—for no apparent reason. The jukebox and the television began to blare—on their own. Toilet paper rolls unwound by themselves simultaneously from both the men’s and women’s restroom. Gil martin felt cod spots in the summer, and recalled the scent of gardenias slowly wafting through the bedrooms, lobby, down the hall, and pass the bar. Late one night, Gil heard big band music coming from the Mermaid room.

Moon in my Pocket

The eagle soars into great height and the hen remains forever in the cage owing to their different ideals. Let us hover like eagles. Life requires persistence, perseverance and assiduity. There is not situation where one has not sown, and one can succeeds only by firmness and concentration after overcoming hardships and laziness even he has interest. If you asked a skillful skater how he succeeded, he would tell you, “get up after you fall down, this is the way to success.” Surprise is an emotion that enfeebles, not invigorates. It is the holiday season, and you may be feeling emotional, thinking about the past and feeling like all hope is lost. Your doctor has diagnosed you with depression. However, are you really depressed? To sink under the weight is but to increase the weight. Maybe what you are feeling is someone out there missing you and you do not even realize it? Sometimes, the very idea of not knowing something leads to a panicky commitment of worry and pain. A psychological burden carries a risk, and often times complications because medical are especially emotional. People are not just machines that you can hook up to a computer and figure out what is wrong with them, everyone is different, even the computers now days misread symptoms that the cars give off. Perhaps you are just really missing someone? Really spend time and listen to your emotions and get what you need. A man who is master of himself can end sorrow as easily as he can invent a pleasure.

I know that recently I was confronted with the idea of not being able to see someone anymore, and it was not because of anything they did, nor anything I did, and it made me extremely sad. I felt like someone had died and I was all alone. And then I saw this person and felt better. However, a few weeks of not seeing them again made me feel a little sad. And I kept trying to figure out what was wrong? Maybe I was sad because I had not had my hot coffee today and slept in? No. That is not it. I think it is love. I think I fell in love with someone and when a person said something to me about them, it just really rocked my World. Like, I knew I had feelings for this person, but just the idea that they could go away never to be seen again just really disturbed me. And it is like a feeling that no drink or anything could make better because it is not a chemical imbalance, I just happened to fall in love, and being in that person’s arms or talking to them made everything better. On the eve of Christmas, there is always a feeling of weakness, as though the mad had been subdued, brought at length into a cage and tamed, so as to be made fit for domestic purposes, and deprived of his ancient freedom among the woods. However, perfection is already accomplished. Know that every part of you is perfect. Open your eyes, look in the mirror and see the good. Accept and believe and let life enter and live through you, your soul, and rejoice. Every desire man has links him with others. Man is not a machine.

He is part of one. Many of us would read in the stars, if we could, something hidden from us; but none of us so much as know our letters in the stars yet—or seem likely to do it, in this state of existence—and few languages can be read until their alphabets are mastered. Signs are small measurable things, but interpretations are illimitable, and in people of sweet, ardent nature, every sign is apt to conjure up wonder, hope, belief, vast as a sky, and colored by a diffused thimbleful matter in the shape of knowledge. Everyone has astonishing potentiality. I should believe my own power and youth and tell myself continuously that everything is up to me. See, the day of the LORD is coming—a cruel day, with wrath and fierce anger—to make the land desolate and story the people who knowingly and willfully do bad to others. You are the light of the World. Like a city on a hill that cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on a stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before everyone, that they may see your good deeds and praise your life and the day you were born. Your eyes are so beautiful and release a light that you kindle is flame in my mind, which is more brilliant than rosy dawn, stronger than sunshine, more interesting than northern lights.
Abandon Expectations—Who Raised the Rent?!

The city has it cunning wiles, no less than the infinitely smaller and more human tempter. There are large forces which allure with all the soulfulness of expression possible in the most cultured human. The gleam of a thousand lights is often as effective as the persuasive light in a wooing and fascinating eye. Half the undoing of the unsophisticated and natural mind is accomplished by forces wholly superhuman. Many people in Sacramento, California USA, particularly the Midtown and Downtown residents, are in an uproar about the rapidly increasing rents (increased by 16.9% in the past year), lack of units available, and almost nonexistent income based or below market rate housing. The median household income in Sacramento, California is $58,322. However, the people who live in Midtown tend to be students and young professionals and senior citizens.

These members of the human population are up and coming or have limited resources because they are young, have college debt, are single, and many are retired. People under the age of 25 are on average bringing home $31,863.00 a year. And those under the age of 44 are on average annually making $49,362.00 a year. In order to live comfortably, economist suggest that no more than 30 percent of your monthly income is used to pay rent. However, the average apartment in Midtown will cost between $1,200.00 to $3,500.00 a month. The prices may sound very reasonable to people in major cities on the West Coast of California like Oakland, Los Angles, San Jose, and San Francisco and other on the East Coast in Chicago, New York, and Manhattan. However, what attracted people to those cities is high paying jobs. Those cities are pack with skyscrapers full of jobs that can afford a luxury life style, but that is not the case for Sacramento, California. 33 percent of the people in Sacramento, California are considered low wage workers.

According to Nick Miller, with the Sacramento News and Review, “54 percent of Sacramentans spend more than 33 percent of their income on rent, and over 25 percent of these people are spending more than half of their income on rent.” One young lady called Kristina even had her rent increase by 32 percent in just three months, from $1,250.00 to $1,575.00 a month, for a one-bedroom apartment, no parking, and very few modern amenities like a dishwasher, washer and drying machines, not even a garbage disposal. Many of the apartments in Midtown Sacramento, which are not luxury apartments have problems, like drafty windows and doors, moister issues, and some even lack true central heating and air conditioning so there can be issues with allergies.

Unlike the major cities we listed early, the thing that is driving up the rents in Sacramento, California, and particularly Midtown and Downtown is this billion dollar Sacramento King’s Colosseum, which 50 percent of was funded by taxpayer money, but the tax payers had no say in if they wanted this new facility for the basketball team to play in. So now investors are going crazy and trying to create a “World Class City,” I guess they are trying to turn Sacramento, California into New York or San Francisco by building luxury apartments that start off at $2,200.00 a month, and that is causing other property owners to raise their rents on units that may be substandard.

However, you will recall from history class that in 1760s taxation without representation is what caused the 13 colonies to revolt, and was a major catalyst in the American Revolution because the colonist had no way to claim their rights and feared that their property could be take away through debilitating taxes. The problem with this formula that Mayor Kevin Johnson and these investors are using is they are not factoring the differences, they are just trying to sell the masses a convincing dream and glaze over the inconsistencies. “If we can just convince them,” that this is a good idea is the plan. You see, New York is full of high paying jobs and has tons of skyscrapers, so the rents are naturally higher because there is money to be made, and the suburbs are often times hours away from the business district.

And San Francisco is like one of the major financial districts in California, people from all over the Bay Area commute there because again, there are a lot of high rises, with high paying jobs. Sacramento, California is different. The mayor is not factoring in that debt spending and housing is what is driving up the prices in Sacramento, California. It is not because corporations are moving here and just waving a wand and increase wages by 30 to 50 percent. In fact, Mayor Kevin Johnson even proposed paying teens and disabled workers less than the minimum wages everyone else received. Mind you that the Civil Right Act of 1964 prohibited discrimination in the workplace, it mandated that government ensure equality of employment opportunity. And speaking of second class city, by 2020, the minimum wage in Sacramento will only be $12.50 an hour, while other places are making $15.00 an hour.

And another problem facing Sacramento, California is generating enough revenue to provide adequate services about protection for the residents. Therefore, many urban dwellers leave the Downtown and Midtown corridors and move to communities like South Sacramento, Elk Grove, and Natomas, which are only 15 minutes away from the Downtown area. So within the time I can drive my car from the supermarket, which is a one mile walk, back to my apartment, find parking, and walk back to a flat that cost a minimum of $1,200.00 a month, someone else could have driven home, parked in the garage, and be sitting back and relaxing. Not to mention, one could get a two story, 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom house, with a 2 car garage, and 2,300 square feet of living space, with all the amenities you can dream of, on a quarter of an acre lot for $2,200.00 a month.

However, all of these figures are high for many people in Sacramento, California as “246,334 people in Sacramento collect food stamps,” reports Nick Miller, which supplies a household of one person with a “maximum benefit of $194.00 a month, and maximum of $694 a month for a household of four people.” Keep in mind, the average single man spends about $400.00 a month on groceries. And while jacking up the rents, keep in mind it is forcing people out on the street, there are 20,000 homeless people in Sacramento, and 11,354 are kids. It brings tears to my heart that the Mayor, Kevin Maurice Johnson is an embittered man, a man beset by evil temptations, he is a Grinch, stealing food off the tables and putting these darling children out on the streets, so these rich basketball players can get a new place to place basketball, when they already had a home. One does not love a place the less for having suffered in it, unless it has been all suffering.

Sensory Rejuvenation Chamber

The World, being earnest itself, likes an earnest scene, and an earnest man, very well, but only in their place—the stage. Some people find it unbelievable that I have been celibate for my entire life, I have not had coitus, and do not even really date. The last time I even kissed someone was at a club back in 2009, and I came to and said to myself, “What am I doing?” The last time I went on a date was back in 2010, with a journalist or a doctor, I am not really sure who he is, and there is a long story behind that.

Every man loves in his soul to play the part of the stage deity. My friend and I had been drinking and we were wondering around midtown, and somehow who I ended up talk to this guy, he told me all about his new BMW 7 series, and I love BMWs. I knew it was like a $125,000.00 car and I did not want him to drive home. I ended up ditching my friend, and this guy and I got into his BMW, and he threw money at me, but I just let it fall on the floor. We listened pop music in the sensory rejuvenation chamber of the BMW, and then went to the burger joint and had a snack. It was about 2am, on a Saturday morning when we left, and he slept over.

We came back to my apartment, and I was a little embarrassed because there had recently been a major fire in the lobby, and there was black smoke on the walls and electrical wires hanging from the ceiling and some of the doors had been kicked down, by the fire department, to make sure there was no fire inside. My door to my apartment was one of them, and it did not even have a bottom door handle, just a lock and a cloth in the door to cover the hole where the door handle was supposed to go. So I knew this guy, because he was rich, would think this place was really weird and that it would reflect on me and would never want to see me again.

Anyway, as we were getting in bed, I turned on the radio, and he made me turn it off, he said, “People are trying to sleep.” He stripped down to his expensive tighty whities, I could tell they were expensive because they material was nice and thick, and laid in my bed on his back. I was so impressed with this guy because he was so clean. It was like he had just got out of the shower and knew he would see me. So anyway, he was about 5’9”, 135 pounds, blonde hair, blue eyes (if I am not mistaken), and it very good shape. I put on my pajamas and laid on his chest and hugged him all night, which felt really good.

Being celibate, I do not have much contact with people, and hugging this guy was like hugging a teddy bear, it made me feel good. The next morning, I gave him my number, walked him to his car, which he pretended he thought he left at the bar, but I am sure he remembered we parked in back, he said that he had “a screaming headache,” it was rainy, my hair was a mess, he got into his car, backed out, we waved and he drove away. I was sure I would never see him again because my apartment might not be up to his standards.

I am not sure if he ever called because the building was undergoing renovations, and my phone number changed, and I could not call him because I did not ask for his number. Months and possibly years went by, and I was in the supermarket, and this guy comes in and starts talking to this lady next to me (it was like one of those conversations where someone is trying to get your attention), but I ignored him. Then later on I realized it was the guy with the BMW and he was trying to get my attention.
So after a while, it dawned on me that I went on a date with a reporter because I saw him on the local TV news, and had kind of started dating one of his coworkers, which probably bothered him, but that did not work out anyway. We never even held hands. So anyway, I recently went to the doctor and my doctor also looks like the reporter that I went on a date with and I cannot figure out if they are the same person, but they are so similar.

So, this reporter and/or doctor, I have been talking to online and I save many of the news articles he writes—we are interested in a lot of the same subjects, and we connect online. However, I am kind of in love with someone else, and me and this reporter have not been interacting as much. Just a few days ago, I was wondering how he feels about that? And if he feels like I am manipulating him? And then I started getting that feeling like we broke up or something, but we are not even dating.

So basically, I am single and this person I am “in love with” seems to be getting kind of distant. And I am not really sure what I want? I would love to actually spend time with one of them and get to know them as friends. However, the guy with the BMW, I have never forgot about and I really like him because he seems honorable, whereas the other person kind of visits me, but is always out with other guys and women, and they take some very suggestive pictures. Like holding hands with other women, or taking pictures in a hotel room with another guy talking about they are “buckin.” So things are uncertain.
I confess, I seldom listen to the players on stage: one has so much to do, in looking about and finding out one’s acquaintances, that, really, one has no time to mind the stage. Some people think celibacy is bloody honorable. I have all of my parts and they function properly, but I decided I wanted I wanted to be fresh, not passed around, and wanted to wait to have sex until I was in a committed relationship. However, as I get older, I have desires, and while I am not desperate, I do want companionship and want to enjoy the company of another person.

The best actors cannot act well before empty benches. Because of religion reasons, I am not really even allowed to touch my own body, so if I masturbate, I cannot touch myself at all. And that is kind of sad because I put in a lot of work on my body and I really like the way it looks and feels. Men are faithful for so long only as temptations pass them by. Everybody like to be tempted. And, after all, it is very easy to resist temptation, if one wishes. And I am pretty sure it is the reporter who slept over because some of his coworkers have called me a journ-ho (because it seems to some that I only date reporters, and have been accused of sleeping with everyone in one newsroom). While some think celibacy is honorable, I am ready to have new experiences.

Some interesting things about celibacy, it is about going a prolonged time frame without sex, not just days, weeks, or months, but years, and possibly a lifetimes. I do not plan on being celibate a lifetime, but celibacy does have some benefits. For instance, you do not get any sexually transmitted infections. You are not exposed to bad sex or smelly people. There are not accidental pregnancies. And celibacy is reversible, you can choose to have sex whenever you want to. However, there are some downsides to being celibate also.

Most men think about sex 18 times a day, and women 9 times a day. The average adult has sex twice a week. So the issue with celibacy is your relationships are not real and you know the person you are interested in is actually having intercourse while you hold out. So celibacy kind of allows people to take advantage of you for you are not having sex, but may have feelings for a person, and they may have feelings for you, but since you are not sexually active, they can date you and other people and leave you on the side, while they have serial relationships. And they know you are not going anywhere because you have feelings for them.

Nonetheless, being that I have been celibate for so long and as corny as it sounds wanted to wait until marriage to have sex, as I get older my motivations change. I can say that I am more open to the idea of a casual relationship. I really would not mind just hooking up with a particular person just for a sexual relationship, no strings attached, until I meet someone I want to be with and someone who wants to be with me. The only reason I have not joined a dating website and hooked up with someone is because my parents will not allow it, it would deeply embarrass them.

Also, because I do not go out often and rarely go to nightclubs nor bars, I am not meeting anyone nor hooking up with any one. So being celibate means once you decide to break your celibacy, sexually, you are tainted, so people may lose interest in you. The only way to get rid of a temptation is to yield to it, not everyone wants to feel sexless and isolated all of their lifetime, and if you are leaving someone who is celibate on hold, when you know they are waiting on, they may end up just indulging. A people think, well, this person is celibate or a virgin, they will wait on me as long as I want them to, but sometimes might find themselves been hurt.

For instance, a reference from popular culture is One Tree Hill, one of the characters was a virgin and in her early or late 20s, and she was dating this guy, Marvin, they were engaged to be married, and were waiting to have sex until their wedding day. However, Marvin could not wait and cheating on his fiance. She found out and went to a bar, got really drunk and had sex with another guy. Marvin found out and was hurt, not only because his future wife cheated on him, but also because she lost her virginity and he wanted to be her first.

What is a tender heart good for? Who can be happy that has a feeling heart? Personally, a lot of time has passed and I am tired of my heart being attached to people who seem to be enjoying themselves, and I think it would be so empowering to simply have a friend with benefits and no strings attached. So, that way, I can be out enjoying myself. Let us thank our lowliness, since it secures us from temptation. Scarcely any virtue is found to resist the power of long and pleasing lust.

Relationships are going to always be more difficult for someone who is celibate and less intimate. Sex is a way that couples feel closer to each other, and can bond themselves emotionally. Some people choose to be celibate so they do not mix love and friendship. However, after a young lifetime of celibacy, and heart break, your emotions change. And so, if you are loosely dating someone who is celibate, I hope you keep in mind that they want to be with you because they love you and are ready for intimacy. However, if you still want to play the field, realize you may lose them?

Who knows what will happen when that person is in a sexual relationship? If a person decided that they just want to have a relations specifically for intercourse, they may like it and decide to take on multiple partners, and may decide that love is not for them because their was no real connection when they were in love. The devil is an adversary, whom if we resist, he will fly far from us. However, I seldom resist him at all, from a terror that though I may conquer, I may still get a hurt in the combat–so I give up the triumph for security; and instead of thinking to make him fly, I generally fly myself. “Monogamy is the way to go, just put your lips together and blow.” -Britney Spears
Saturday Moon with Nick Miller

The phone rang in Nick Miller’s office. “The director wants you down at Santa Rosa. He will meet you there at ten o’clock. Nick paused, “That’s off-limits for us.” “Not anymore,” the voice informed him. In a vague way Nick Miller had been expecting the call, he was with Randolph Harris.

As chief archaeologist for the reporter, he was one of several people who had been warned against taking the young man out. “They must have dug something up,” Nick thought. He walked out a private exit of the mansion and from the belvedere on the north side caught the sunlit panorama of Norway.

Already Winter was in the air. Nick, forty-two, moved at a brisk pace. He was a trim man with sandy hair and a thick mustache, and his tweed jacket and bring green tie set him apart from the aging corps of mansions functionaries. Nick had been hired as director of antiquities and paleo-Christian art in 1993 after a career that included excavations throughout the Mediterranean and Turkey.

Nick soon learned, however, the he would be allowed to do very little digging in the mansion. In urban areas, archaeology typically thrives on new construction—it is the window of opportunity into the subterranean record.

However, whenever a building project began in the mansions, the engineers did their best to keep the archaeologist out. We must have the courage to embrace the beauty of science in the name of the Lord. Nick listens. He smiles. I continue.

The image of God Incarnate, become Man out of fascination with His Own Creation, will triumph in the Third Millennium as the supreme emblem of Divine Sacrifice and Unfathomable Love. It takes thousands of years to understand the Crucified Christ, I say. Why, for example, did He come down to live thirty-three years?

Why not twenty? Why not twenty-five? You could ponder this stuff forever. Why did Randolph have to start as a baby? Who wants to be a baby? Was being a baby part of our salvation? And why choose that particular time in history? And such a place. Who was that dashing dude, anyway?
But I could not leave Randolph. Randolph was in a real snare with these mortals. And I was greatly in love with Randolph. Randolph, aged twenty-one when Baptized in the Blood, was a seer of visions and a dreamer of dreams, unconsciously charming and unfailingly kind, a suffering hunter of the night who thrived only on the blood of the damned, and the company of the living and the uplifting.

(The loving and the uplifting??? Like me, for instance??? So the kid makes mistakes. Besides, I was so in love with him that I put on a damned good show for him. And I can be damned for loving people who bring out the love in me I that so awful for a full-time monster? You will shortly come to understand that I am always talking about my moral evolution! But for now: the plot.)

I can fall in love with anybody—man, child, vampire, Randolph. It does not matter. I am the ultimate Christian. I see God’s gifts in everyone. I do not understand why Ryan would ignore him, however; anyone would love Randolph. Loving people like Randolph is easy.

Now, back to the question at hand: Which brings me back to Randolph’s bedroom, where Randolph was at this delicate moment. Before either of us had risen tonight—and I had taken the six-foot-tall, brown-eye red-haired boy to one of my secret hiding places with me—a mortal man had arrived at the Manor House and affrighted everybody.

This was the matter that had Ryan looking up the steps, and Tyler muttering, and Stephanie worried sick as she went about in her high-heel stilettos, wringing her hands. And even Mathias Harris was excited about it, still dashing up and down their circular stairs.

Even Scott and Dale had broken off their mourning laments earlier to have a glance at this mortal man and offer to help him in his distress. It was easy enough for me to scan their minds and get a picture of it, this grand and bizarre event, and to scan Randolph’s mins, for that matter as to the result.
And I was making something of an assault on the mind of the mortal man himself as he sat on Randolph’s bed, in a huge random display of flowers, a truly marvelous heap of helter-skelter flowers, talking to Randolph. It was a cacophony of minds filling me in on everything from the beginning. And the whole thing sent a little panic through my enormous brave soul. Work the Dar Trick? Make another one of us? Woe and Grief! Sorrow and Misery! Help, Murder, Police!

Do I really want to steal another soul out of the currents of human destiny? I who want to be a saint? And once personally hobnobbed with angels? I who claimed to have seen God Incarnate? Bring another into the—get ready!—Realm of the Undead? Comment: One of the great things about loving Randolph was that I had not made him.

The boy had come to me free of charge. I had felt a little like Socrates must have felt with all those gorgeous Greek boys coming to him for advice this is, until somebody showed up with the Burning Hemlock.

Back to now: If I had any rival in this World for Randolph’s heart it was this mortal man, and he was up there offering him in frantic whispers the promise of our Blood, the fracture and incomplete gift of our immortality. Yes, this explicit offer was coming from the lips of Randolph.

Good God, kid, show some backbone, I thought! You saw the Light of Heave last night! And no one was there for you! So okay, where was I? The analogies I have drawn, if they are valid, should serve to sketch that other fullness Randolph World that I surmise we are drawn to and in some way rely on.

What justifies the sense of mystery I, in the end, that quality of the mysterious event that makes it seem, not a teasing and unresponsive puzzle, but a breaking-through of transcendental reality.

Some such experience may be provided reputably by the spirits, the vision, all the strange existences and events beyond nature that Randolph keeps coming back to and setting forth for our contemplation. Through mystery, that is, we grasp a little more of the totality which we hazard is the felt essence of Randolph. And in reminder: mystery and totality are attributes of the reality ordinarily called religious.

The Price of Victory

My heart, an image that reflects the window to my soul. If my heart had a window and God granted me a view, of all the people it beholds, I would surely look for you. I think about your smile and how hard you worked and it really warms my heart. I think about how you dedicated your life to us, and how you even served in a war; here on Earth I search for you and pray to God for more. Lately, every night that passes, you have been with me in my mind. I know that you got another life, you have to concentrate. I love you and miss you more than words can say. There are things others do not know, about how hard you worked, and how you left, and being reminded of that really hurt my heart. I have been crying for two weeks, but try not to let anyone know. What I pleaded with you for you will never forget, and what you told me about I will keep every bit and drop forever. To us, memory will never be gone with the wind, nor will it fade with each passing day. I love you and miss you more than words can say. So feel good about yourself, and be safe.

Stone of Destiny and Thought

Despair seldom reigns long in the breast of the innocent. A greater requirement for closure simply implies that the mind’s natural aggressiveness in understanding anomalies, resolving discrepancies, and achieving the miracle of simplification is set higher than people who are able to accept situations and move on. People with higher requirements for closure have heightened attention early on, which also means that they are less likely to thoroughly think things through and are less aware of their own mistakes. This is disastrous in important decisions are stressful situations because these individuals are likely to miss key information. Skepticism can never be thoroughly applied, else life would come to a standstill: something we must believe in and do, and whatever that something may be called, it is virtually our own judgment, even when it seems like the most slavish reliance on another. If you cannot control your emotions, how can you expect to try to control someone else’s? If you allow your emotions to dictate your actions, chances are you will not be making the best decisions. That is not saying emotions are bad, but looking at the facts is important.

Some people pick out one fleeting moment in time and decide to treat an unstable and changeable intention as a stable, hidden one. Sometimes people see patterns or hear statements, and infer meanings, even when their assumptions are incorrect. Negative capability is when a person is capable of being in uncertainties, mysteries, and doubts without any irritable reaching after fact and reason. Having negative capability means having a low requirement for closure, even in stressful situations. Sometimes people do not present the full, messy picture. They present evidence that supports their preconceived appraisals. People have to be able to interpret behavior in multiple ways or to look at things from different angles. How little we know what would make paradise for our neighbors! We judge from our own desires, and our neighbors themselves are not always open enough to even throughout a hint. How happy would it be for humankind, could they behold their foibles and vices with the piercing eyes that others can. There are few people whose judgment is a true mirror to themselves. We are all born for love. It is the principle of existence, and its only end.

Secrets and Love–the Long Shadow

Throughout life, expectations emerge. You ever see someone and just getting a glimpse of them makes your happy for moments, if not hours, and even perhaps an entire day? And then you think to yourself, “I would love to talk to this person, you seem so cool.” Whereas other people, you may find them attractive, but you think “What would we walk about, would you even like me?” When you are in love with someone, you really do not find too many other people attractive, but when they do not spend much time with you, your heart does start to wonder, it is only natural. It does not mean that you are falling out of love, it just means you desire companionship, and whoever you are in a relationship must know this. Maybe they just want you to see it is them you are really dreaming of. When you think of them, your heart still feels warm and you are attached right?

Dwelling calmly among feelings of uncertainty will help you make a more rational decision. During the holiday season, we all experience a bubble of emotions, and much like a lasagna, all of these feelings are inside mixing, forming, and bonding together like sauce, cheese, and noodles. The best bet is to stay mellow, be happy, be thankful for what is going right and realize your reality is different from the next person’s, so try and be respectful. Sometimes we all get to a point in life where we say, “Is this real?!” And at the moment, we may want to deny whatever it is we are experiencing and just pretend life is normal. And you may be able to do this for a while, but much like a cold breeze, it will slip through that unweather stripped door and nip at your heels, and then you are like, “Damn, this is real.”

The thing with alternative views or altered states of awareness is that there is so beauty to it. You may get to meet people others would only dream about, and travel to amazing places, and that is actually happening, along with some other things you wish were not. Just be thankful you have someone guiding you, running circles around you, and making you feel a sense of love, and knowing that this too shall pass and someday we may be metaphorically running together. Life may expose you to difficult circumstances, but be happy you have a guide acting as your safety net and be thankful for every moment the two of you have. However, sometimes people feel responsible for doing something they thought was wrong and will change their beliefs so that they align with their past actions.

I was reading this story, it was true, about a professional who convinced some people that the end of the World was near and that she had been talking to spacemen. She was so convincing that people went out and bought things they could not afford because they did not even think they would be around to finish paying for it. Then others met at her house and waited for the World to end. Some psychologist and reporters caught wind of this and joined the group. As the crew waited for the World to end, they got silent, and when it did not end, they were okay with that, and stuck together for a while longer. However, after a few more inconsistencies, they did not disregard what they had been taught, they just distanced themselves from their mentor.

When the mentor had been dethroned, she cried because she really believed that what she was teaching was true and explained that through faith, they saved the Earth. Sometimes when people are faces with realities, especially in a group setting, that they cannot believe, they try to block them out, instead of having endless deliberations. Our brain is like a machine, and has all these tools to process the World and make sense of things. No one wants to be imprisoned by a chronic uncertainty, where there is no way to establish confirmation. Cognitive dissonance is a term that refers to the disturbing feeling of experiencing two different realities at the same time. It is like the feeling you would get if someone told you mostly everything you know about life is wrong and proved it to you. Basically your system feels incoherence to what should have been a predictable situation.

Cognitive dissonance is when you get a message and it totally disturbs your sense of order and consistency. There is a mismatch, an error. Kind of like the untimely death of a loved one. It just does not make sense to you for a while. You can assimilate the experience and decide that your loved one is just on vacation, or you can accommodate it and recognize that your loved one is no longer on this Earth. Assimilation makes the World feel safe again, whereas accommodation means facing realities that create uncertainty and will cause upheaval. Also, when trying to deal with what has happened, and construct a new Worldview, it can be challenging to manage this powerful data.

How we resolve discrepancies—especially when they are accompanied by a feeling of physical vulnerability—helps us to remain stable. Not everything has to be bad. Sometimes good things, like falling in love, make you feel vulnerable. For example, you could not imagine your World without the person you are dating, they make you feel better about life, in general. This person you are dating tells you, “Sometimes I think if I can’t have you, no one else can,” but then admits her or she is lightweight joking. However, to you, this seems romantic because you could not imagine life without them, and it makes you feel loved. However, I guess people worry, if they go awhile without seeing you, they may think a shift in consciousness may have occurred. These two people really fell in love and it upended their lives, they were affected by each other on a spiritual level. Clarity grew more valuable.

When people have clarity and certainty in their lives, it makes us feel more confident and creative. However, when various pressure piles up, the windows of our mind start to shut and lock. When it comes to getting to know a person, some people want to go beyond the surface, they want to see what you are really like. They do not care about what is going on outside of you and what others things, they want to see how you are under pressure, when you are alone, and how you will behave when they are not around. Let us say you meet Christina, and she is beautiful, comes across as an effective leader; productive sensitive, and courteous towards others, and cares.

However, after you get to know Christina, it comes to light that she has some inconsistency. She failed to marry her last love interest because she was embarrassed of her apartment, and her career, and felt like someone so prestigious would not accept her as she was. You also learned that when she is under stress and does not get her way, she can be rude and disorganized, also it sometimes takes her a while to get dressed, but when she is ready to go out, she is impressive. Now you have to rate how likely you are to want to be in a long term relationship with her. You have noticed, that in the begging she was as sweet as cherry pie, but as the relationship went on, she became fussy and grumpy because of something you did, but after she truly realized she was in love with you she changed and started behaving better towards you and it showed in her life. Her work improved, her appearance got even better, and she started being nice towards people she did not even care for. If you did not know any better, you would think she had been reprogramed to become a “Stepford Wife,” who walks around in a European town where well-behaved citizens stroll around politely on yellow brick roads.

Statistics show when a person starts a relationship off and they are treating you good, but they express some concerning behavior and recover, they are 50 percent more likely to be a more desirable choice than someone who starts a relationship off bad and then slowly adapts. This is no surprise, first impressions do matter, and may Christina realized that she cannot control everything in her relationship, but she started out nice, does love you, and is becoming more of a person you know you can work with. Having faith in others is one of the primary ways to manage uncertainty, when getting to really know a person you have to have greater flexibility. The quest for certainty is not always calm and predictable, but it is rather an every-changing wave that we learn to maneuver.

Maybe Christina realized that the love of her life is not perfect, he is trying to fit in and be popular, as that is part of his job, but he loves her, and his goal was to hook her, not just have another relationship that was over before it got started, so she maneuvered and accepted him for who he is?Also, Christina may have matured, and just accepts the waves as part of life. While she hopes that he will want to spend more time with her, she also realizes that she is valuable and attractive, and irresistible. Accepting uncertainty for longer periods will improve your odds of making rational decisions, even when you are nearly sure that you are correct. It is important to allow serious decisions, that involve ambiguity, time to bubble and settle, and then revisit them when you are in different moods. So while Christina is sure she is in love with this man, she is waiting on him to finally reach a verdict, and is not going to force him, nor hurry him along. Everyone wants someone who can stand their own ground.

Psychologist caution people about making deliberate judgements before their judgments are ready to be made. Imagine you have to justify your decision late on? You do not want someone to admit they are only with you because they worried about you. You want someone to be with you because they admire you, find your attractive, love your brain, and can appreciate other attributes that you have. So this is the man of her dreams, and she is waiting on him, but he also has to understand that no one knows how long she will wait? These two seem to know not to make rushed decisions, but for people to actually change their minds in light of the late information of bonding, they needed reminders at the start of the relationship. And neither one of them wants to face the potential periods of dangers in a new courting experience.

Dating is an investment decision, and making the wrong decisions is extremely costly in terms of time, resources, social capital, and your self-esteem. So remember, when you are in a budding relationship think about how they made you feel and their actions. Someone holding your hand in a time of need, walking you through the park, and helping you become a more balanced person, in a hard time, is likely someone who will benefit your life. Also, someone who spends countless moments writing you love poems, going out of their way to avoid people you are jealous of, and honestly only having eyes for you is a huge benefit. After nine months, Christina has not gone on a date with anyone, nor hooked up with anyone, and it is known she is virtuous, she sounds like the perfect young lady. Incentives like these would work to make the ambiguity of courtship tolerated and even embraced.

Also, keep in mind, be wary of disproportionate power of early explanations. We have to remind ourselves everyone, even groups have a vice. You needed more tools that help you remain aware of your wild search for answers in places where they may or may not exist. And above all, you needed to be reminded of the stakes. Dashing into a relationship can be a total catastrophe, but getting to know the love of your life, first hand, and in person ultimately can be a good thing. Surrounded by the right ideas, beliefs, and courses of action, we might be the right people, and we may even stumble on the right course of action—or even the right person.

Sometimes love at first sight is not a mistake. Matthew took a ride to school with his neighbor, he saw her young son and fell in love with him. Knowing the boy was too young for him, he realized how handsome and gentle he was. And twelve years later, Matthew and Ken wake up to Good Morning America together, every day, while they slip coffee and plan their days together. The World likes a tender boat carries love, truth, kindness and beauty to life. Embrace the World that belongs to you. May you be young and beautiful forever! There are some very beautiful things in this reality. “God, there is no other like you in Heaven nor on Earth—you who keep your covenant of love with your servants who continue wholeheartedly in your ways. You have kept your promise.”
Secrets and Lies—the Secret of Life

You watch him struggling to fit, and having a hard time as everyone makes fun of him and tries to make life impossible. He gets to tired that whatever is being said and done starts to mean nothing. While Tom Murphy is thankful for his mother, he spends so many nights crying because he misses his dad, and has no one, but his mother in his life. There is no one for Tom to talk to or express what he is going through. He has to stay strong for his mother, and knows how it feels to lose someone you care about, so he does not talk about the death of his biological father, Ben Crawford. There is so much we do not know about the World, and Tom Murphy is catching on fast. Before his 21st birthday, Tom is in a horrible accident. He wakes up in a hospital bed hemorrhaging. The bleeding started on December 4th, and he does not think much of it. He was in an accident, and is in the hospital recovering.Periodically, Tom looks down on the floor and sees pools of blood gathering below him. He figures he is dying and ready to let go. The charge nurse called Kathy, at Kaiser hospital comes in the room and tells the young man, “I do not want to scare you, but if you do not get a blood transfusion, you are going to go into shock and die.” Tom had already made up his mind that he was ready to die.

However, his father, Ben Crawford does not want to let go of him. Ben takes off of work and spends night and day by Tom’s side, and he is not ready to lose his son. Mrs. Moore, a reporter from FOX News texts Ben Crawford and says, “No parent should have to bury their child.” Ben has connections in Hollywood, so he gets Tom’s favorite actress, Paris Hilton, to come to the hospital and convince him to get a blood transfusion. As Tom is laying in the bed, bleeding to death from a “questionable injury,” Paris Hilton looks him and the eyes and says, “Will you please get the blood transfusion for me?” She he goes ahead. The boy had lost four pints of blood, so he was technically dead, and no one knows how he held on. They infused his blood with two pints of blood and two pints of saline. 15 December, Tom was released from the hospital. He spends time recovering and feels a little different. For the next few years, Tom’s life is a blur, he is inactive. He goes to college, and then while it Statistics class, he gets a phone called that his father, Ben Crawford, is in the hospital, and only has a few days to live. The doctors can perform this experimental treatment to save his life, but it is really expensive. So they take Ben home. While he is laying in the bed, someone pulls his air tube out. Tom hears Ben gasp for air, and everything thinks he is taking his last breath. However, as Tom looks to the floor, he noticed that someone actually pulled the air tube out of his father’s lungs.

A few years goes by, and Tom goes to China. He stays there for three years, and then comes back to America and gets an Apartment in California, but nothing seems the same. Because Tom has been busy and traveling, he does not know anyone, he tries to associate with the people in the fishing village he lives in, but they are all very violent, untrustworthy, or aloof. Tom spends time thinking about how he wishes his father was alive and talks about him all the time. As he is trying to figure a way out of this town, he spends his days writing and reading, in hopes of getting discovered. The town they live in is full of crime and corruption. However, one Summer, something changes. Tom is at the park, getting exercise, and he sees his father, but he does not believe his eyes and think someone is just impersonating him. Later that night, Tom goes out with his father’s friend, Dave. Dave gets Tom really drunk, and then suddenly, Charlie Cotton, one of his favorite celebrity reporters comes out of the blue screaming and hollering at Tom, asking him, “Why are you with this old man, he is dangerous, I see him here without you all the time?!” Charlie kisses Tom on the cheek and tells him that he thinks he is in come kind of mind control program. Tom listens, and thinks Charlie may be on to something. Tom loves Charlie because he is such a cool guy, very nice, and has a great accent. As time goes on, Tom does some research. He learns that humans do not know that much about this World and believes that the internet is allowing a parallel Universe to communicate with ours. He figures that some people are angels, some are demons, and some are humans. He also begins to understand the mind control program is code for the occult. The government has no one to explain the supernatural, so they call the program MKUltra.

Tom really wants to get away from his current living experience, but he keeps seeing his dad, so this makes him happy enough to stay. However, for some reason, Ben Crawford will not physically speak to Tom, it is almost as if he has no voice. The two telepathically communicate, and they also talk online, but never in person. Tom is afraid to approach Ben and start a conversation with him because he does not know how he will react. The people in this environment all act like they do not know what they are doing, pretend to forget the things they say, or respond violently. So Tom keeps going back to the place where he sees his dad in hopes that he will speak to him. Tom’s dad has expressed that he stays away because he does not feel like talking, but then he will show up when he does and they telepathically communicate. However, Tom is getting tired of going to their favorite meeting space, and wants a break, but still goes praying and wishing that he father would finally just open up his arms and tell him he misses him. More and more people are starting to see that Tom is fine, but that there is something wrong with the people in the town and the elected officials. Tom’s dad does express that he feels like he is being watched, and this may be why they do not verbally communicate. The longer people stay in this town, the less they have to say, as it seems words have no power. But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, establish, strengthen, settle [you]. 1 Peter 5:10
