The World is a Moving World—it Never Stands Still

Such is the fluctuation of a mind overcome by distress, that if for a moment a ray of hope cheers its darkness, it vanishes at the touch of recollection. The situation is very different now. In a recent study, we asked a few thousand representative American teenagers what jobs they expected to have when they grew up. The results were impressive. Apparently, adolescents have extremely high expectations of becoming professionals: 15 percent of them expect to become either doctors or lawyers. Affluent teenagers actually work more often in high school than children who come from disadvantaged backgrounds, even though they do not have to. And exposure to productive tasks in the home, the neighborhood, and the community is much greater for children who grow up in wealthy and stable environments. There one can actually find fifteen-year-olds who plan to become architects and who have learned to draft in a relative’s architectural firm, who have helped design an extension to a neighbor’s house, who have interned with a local construction company—although overall such opportunities are infrequent. In an inner-city high school, the most popular informal career counselor was a school guard who helped sharp young boys find jobs with the gangs, and directed good-looking girls toward so-called modeling jobs.

According to the ESM results, it seems that young people learn their elders’ ambivalence toward work quite early. Bu age ten or eleven, they have internalized the pattern that is typical of society at large. When they are asked to say whether what they are doing is more like work or more like play (or like both or neither) sixth graders almost invariably say that academic classes in school are work, and doing sports is play. The interesting thing is that whenever adolescents are doing something they label as work, they typically say that what they do is important for their future, requires high concentration, and induces high self-esteem. The World is a moving World, it never stands still; and its sands are forever shifting. Yet teens are also less happy and motivated than average when what they do is like work. On the other hand, when they are doing something, they label as play, they see it as having low importance and requiring little concentration, but they are happy and motivated. In other words, the split between work that is necessary but unpleasant, and pleasant but useless play, is well established by late childhood. It does get even more pronounced as adolescents go through high school. Good fortune is never more doubtful than when it wears the sweetest and most promising countenance.

Nothing is more unaccountable than the spell that often lurks in a spoken work. When the same adolescents eventually start working, they report exactly the same pattern of experience from their workplace. In the United States of America, almost 90 percent of teenagers are employed sometimes during high school, a much higher proportion than in other technologically advanced countries like Germany or Japan, where there are fewer opportunities for part-time work—and where parents prefer their children to spend as much time as possible studying, rather than being distracted by jobs irrelevant to their future careers. The secret of great work: to persevere and still keep the passion fresh. Intellectual work is misnamed; it is a pleasure, a dissipation, and is tis own highest reward. In our study, 57 percent of tenth graders and 86 percent of twelfth graders have held paying jobs, usually serving fast food, as clerks or salespersons, or as baby-sitters. When teenagers are paged on their jobs, they report very elevated self-esteem. They see what they do as important and requiring great concentration. However, they are less happy than usual (although not as unhappy as in school), and they do not enjoy themselves. In other words, the pattern of ambivalence is set by the very first steps of their working lives. So seldom do they ever exert themselves, that when they do work, they seem determined that so meritorious an action shall not escape the observation of those around. However, work is definitely not the worst thing adolescents experience. The worst condition they report is when what they do it neither like work nor like play. When this is the case—usually in maintenance activities, passive leisure, or socializing—their self-esteem is lowest, what they do has no importance, and their happiness and motivation are also below average. Yet for adolescents neither work nor play takes up on the average 35 percent of the day. Some, especially children whose parents have little education, feel that half or more of what they do is of this kind. A person who grows up experiencing most of the day as neither important nor enjoyable is unlikely to find much meaning in the future.

Your Eyes Encourage My Love

How brilliant and tender is the moon on the night of every lunar fifteenth. May your life be like this fantastic night filled with happiness and ecstasy. May bright Sunshine, youthful vigor, beautiful appearance and comfortable smiles belong to you forever. These are the days when birds come back, a very few, a bird or two, to take a backward look. #RyanPhillippe 1 of 10

These are the days when skies put on the old, old sophistries of June, –a blue and gold mistake. The morns are meeker than they were, the nuts are getting brown; the berry’s cheek is plumper, the rose is out of town. The maple wears a happier scarf, the field a scarlet gown. The sky is low, the clouds are mean, a travelling flake of snow across a barn or through a rut debates if it will go. #RyanPhillippe 2 of 10

Narrow wind complaints all day how come one treated him; nature, like us, is sometimes floating thoughts to colorful stars, which know at your beautiful dream every night. What I pleaded with you for you will never forget, and what you told me about I will keep every bit and drop forever. To us, memory will never be gone with the wind, nor will fade with every passing day. #RyanPhillippe 3 of 10

Prayer is the little implement through which men reach where presence is denied them. They fling their speech. By means of it in God’s ear; if then He hear, this sums the apparatus comprised in prayer. I know that he exists somewhere, in silence. He has hid is rare life from our gross eyes. This is an instant’s play, this is a fond ambush, just to make bliss earn one’s own surprise. #RyanPhillippe 4 of 10

However, should the play prove piercing earnest should the glee glaze in death’s stiff stare, would not the fun look too expensive? Would not the jest have crawled too far? Years had been from home, and now, before the door; I dared not open, lest a face I never saw before. Stare vacant into mine and ask my business there. My business,–just a life I left, was such still dwelling there? #RyanPhillippe 5 of 10

I fumbled at my nerve, I scanned the windows near; the silence like an ocean rolled, and broke against my ear. I laughed a wooden laugh that I could fear a door; who danger and the dead had faced, but never quaked before. I fitted to the latch my hand, with trembling care, lest back the awful door should spring, and leave me standing there. I moved my fingers off as cautiously as glass, and held my ears, and like a thief fled gasping from the house. #RyanPhillippe 6 of 10

Just lost when I was saved! Just felt the World go by! Just grit me for the onset with eternity, when breath blew back, and on the other side I heard recede the disappointed tide! Therefore, as one returned, I feel, odd secrets of the time to tell! Some sailor, skirting foreign shores, some pale reporter from the awful doors before the seal. Next time, to tarry, while the ages steal,–slow tramp the centuries and the cycles wheel. Fervent blessing burns in my heart; hopeful smile brings you my infinite love. #RyanPhillippe 7 of 10

Of all the hearts that stand create I have elected one. When sense from spirit flies away, and subterfuge is done; when that which is and that which was apart, intrinsic, stand, and this brief tragedy of flesh is shifted like a sand; when figures show their royal front and mists are carved away,–behold the atom I preferred to all the lists of clay. #RyanPhillippe 8 of 10

I have no life but this, to lead it here; nor any death, but lest dispelled from there; nor tie to Earth come, nor action new, except through this extent, the real of you. You leave with love, yearning and tears. Oh, please take care of yourself. Please believe me, time cannot take pure memory away. Your Spring wind like tender feeling will live in my heart. #RyanPhillippe 9 of 10

I have a little dream. There is only you in it. Your smile and exhortation always are in my heart. I have prayed several times the merging of miracle: Let me look at your appearance and your voice and tell my thinking after several decades. What joy is to health, what pleasure is to longevity, I wish you both every day. Your enthusiasm warm my ice-cold heart; your eyes encourage my eager love. #RyanPhilippe 10 of 10
The Deedle Changed My Life

Matthew Ryan Phillippe, the businessman, whose sarcastic and judgmental behavior had caused had to be consistently rejected by the mother of his children, and taken advantage of by others, found an ideal place to begin to work on relationships. After yet another initially dazzling romance ended badly, he finally faced habit of distancing from those he loved and allowing others to take advantage of him, and began attending therapy sessions. #RyanPhillippe 1 of 11

At first, he was contemptuous, making fun of the slogans and routines of the program whenever he could find friends to entertain with his caricatures of the meetings he grudgingly attended. However, gradually, he began to soften, to listen to stories that were always in some way like his own. He saw tougher guys than he was shed tears as they talked about losing their kids, abandoning their friends, betraying their wives and girlfriends. #RyanPhillippe 2 of 11

As he began to risk sharing his own losses and his pervasive feelings of loneliness, he discovered what it was like to be genuinely close to other people and to be emotionally open with them. Matthew remembered that he had participated frequently in groups for recreational purposes, including a men’s softball league, coaching his kids’ soccer teams, and rope climbing with friends. #RyanPhillippe 3 of 11

Matthew had considered exploring a spiritual community, but he had not pushed himself to try that yet. He thought a lot about returning to the cathedral to connect with his church roots or finding a new spiritual centered group. #RyanPhillippe 4 of 11

Finally, Matthew opened up about his family, and how it was sometimes difficult for him. He was not sure that he even wanted to become more fully a part of his family of origin and to feel closer to his current family. He considered developing a new set of goals and a new mind-set about what he wanted to happen with his family, but he realized it was just too anxiety-provoking. Matthew was just not sure if he wanted to start out being so vulnerable, so he chose to slowly reconnect with them. #RyanPhillippe 5 of 11

While thinking about these things, Matthew contemplated his emotional comfort level. He knew he was someone who did well when challenged by something new. He thought about pursuing an involvement in some form of spirituality that would be new enough to challenge him to really invest time and energy in his emotional well-being. On the other hand, Matthew came to understand that he did not want to return to his childhood religious roots and that he was uncomfortable with the idea of something so far outside his experience as a meditation group. It would be too different, he thought. #RyanPhillippe 6 of 11

Then, Matthew started feeling frustrated and angry about the whole idea of finding a group, and considered letting his life go on just the way it always had. At this point, he was about to give up, but then he remembered one of his buddies talking enthusiastically about graphic arts and computer science. From what his friend had told him, he understood that if he got involved in this particular endeavor, he could choose the comfort of engaging in a force of innovation, artistic expression, and a scientific discovery and research that would have a global impact. #RyanPhillippe 7 of 11

After starting Deedle Matthew noticed some major changes in his pattern of controlling behavior. As he experienced this new vulnerability, Matthew became more open and more emotionally accessible without feeling that he had undergone a whole personality transplant. #RyanPhillippe 9 of 11

“I did not feel as if it was the Invasion of the Body Snatchers or anything like that,” he reported, smiling a little, “however, I did start to feel like a really different person. My former wife and kids began to respond to the changes in how I related to them, too. Although my former wife is happily remarried, we are just like best friends, and the kids are really happy and doing well in school. It is pretty cool.” The longer he participated in his new career, Matthew’s closeness with his family and the community deepened and increased and he found a new appreciation for life. #RyanPhillippe 10 of 11

Love is a Most Wonderful Teacher and Time is so Precious

Love is a stronger passion than vanity. Never sign a Valentine with your name on it. It has too often been forgotten that the family possesses this many-sided flexibility and has in different ages and land shown endless variations of shape in adjustment to varying social conditions. Those who overlooked this essential fact have frequently cried out in rebellion against the whole conception of family. Because they themselves have chanced to come out of an unhappy family life—though the excellent qualities they have notwithstanding often displayed go far to show that even an unhappy family life may have happy results—they impetuously demand the complete abolition of the family. An anonymous German correspondent, who opposes my acceptance of the family as a suitable home for the young and refers to the certainly deplorable fact (to be matched also in other countries) that in all Germany and Austria a century ago only four Schools for Mothers had been founded or planned, and has lately sent me a long and imposing series of quotations from eminent writers, ancient and modern, denouncing the family. I quote a few at random: “I reject family education altogether; public education is better” (Fichte); “Give me other mothers and I will give you another World” (St. Augustine); “Of ten blows which a child receives nine from its mother” (T. Hippel);

“Maternal love easily becomes pernicious, an animal affection, overlooking, forgiving, and paring all the child’s faults, immensely injuring the child itself, and imparting at the outset the germ of future illusions in life” (Forel); “Many women wish to abolish war; but these very same women, in the sphere of education, cannot give up those methods of force which call out rough passions and unworthy ideas of right, and are counter part of war” (Ellen Kay); “Babies need better education than the individual mother gives them” (Mrs. Perkins Gilman); “Poor child! Your father is tied to his office, your mother is vexed to-day, to-morrow she has a visitor, the day after her moods (Pestalozzi); “The family, the Hell of the child, the home of all social vices!” (Strindberg); “If the punishment of the criminal justified we must first ask: How did he become a criminal? What was his mother like?” (Brockhaus’s Hours with Bismark). Such outbursts have their significance. They show us that the family, however fundamental, will not fit everyone and that not all are worthy of the privileges it offers. They clearly indicate that those who are not fitted, by nature or by training, for marriage and parenthood would be well advised to follow some other career. They are a warning that every institution must perpetually grow and change if it is not to prove pernicious.

Above all, they impress on us how deeply founded the family must be when it can evoke such hearty condemnation even from the most eminent personages without in the slightest degree endangering its stability. There is one important change which must be recognized at the outset. Hitherto the question of the family has mainly, if not even altogether, the question of marriage. To a large extent it must continue to be so. However, it is a distinguishing characteristic of our Western civilization, in all the countries it has touched, that this is no longer necessarily the case. In the history of mankind in general marriage has meant a family, and when no children appeared the marriage has often been dissolved, sometimes almost automatically. With us, not only is the absence of children considered no adequate ground for the dissolution of the marriage, but the marriage may at the outset be planned to avoid procreation, whether temporarily or permanently. That is becoming the central characteristic of our marriage system, and it is of immense significance in relation to the family. Not that it can affect the existence of the family, since that rests on a biological foundation which cannot be destroyed.

However, it furnishes an altogether new control over the forms the family may assume, and it renders the family may assume, and it renders the family adjustable, in a way that has never before been possible, to the developing direction of our general social organization. This is notably conspicuous in relation to the changing economic position of women. In the phase of civilization out of which we are growing, a phase which persisted unimpaired until the Industrial Revolution at the end of the eighteenth century, the economic position of women was as wife and mother at the head of the home. That was no small position to occupy, and it required most diverse gifts, since the home was the centre of industrial activity for a large part of its own requirements. However, woman to-day occupies a totally different position. She has lost her industrial activities in the home, but has regained them in the global World, and added to them the freedom to adopt, if she so chooses, most of the activities formerly reserved to me. At the same time she tends more and more to accept, at all events as ideal, the principle of complete economic independence, even in the exercise of her functions as wife and mother, since she no longer considers that as a wife and mother she becomes the servant of a man and entitled to wages as such, but holds that she is gratifying her own desires. That principle, however, though it may be reasonable, leads to a grave conflict if pushed to its logical extreme in practice.

If a woman, when she becomes a wife, is to follow the example of the woman of the antiquated World and spend her time and strength in bearing perhaps a dozen children, of whom half may not survive, she cannot possibly be economically dependent on her own exertions. She must remain unmarried or renounce her independence in becoming wife and mother. The difficulty is always real, but it has now become, in some measure at all events, adjustable. Love does not aim simply at the conscious good of the beloved object: it is not satisfied without perfect loyalty of heart; it aims at its own completeness. That simple, primitive love which knits us to the beings who have been nearest to us, in their times of helplessness or of anguish. It has become clear, that is to say, that the number of children and the times when they are to be born may be arranged according to the circumstances in which the two parents are situated, and it is also seen to be reasonable that, since the mother must necessarily devote a larger share of time and care to the child, the father may be called upon to take a larger financial share, without the economic equality of the two parents being thereby injured. Men are often blind to the passions of women; but every woman is as quick-sighted as a hawk on these occasions, nor is there one article in the whole science of love which is not understood by all women. Time is precious, what if your stalling causes what you cherish to escape you in this lifetime, and not by choice? If my trophy was in danger of being stolen, I would keep it in my possession, instead of worrying.

If I Loved, I Should Love at Once and Without Change

Drowning is not so pitiful as the attempt to rise. Three times, it is said, a sinking man comes up to face the skies, and then declines forever to that abhorred abode where hope and he part company, — for he is grasped of God. The Maker’s cordial visage, however, good to see, is shunned, we must admit it, like an adversity. It is a beautiful night, life presents us with a common yet precious gift. #RyanPhillippe 1 of 10

We will light up the sky, we will open the clouds, let us repay life with our love, enthusiasm, and diligence. We are not going to waste it. You might not know why, you might not know how, but walk and live in faith of God, not by sight. Time is stealing away, allowing for no procrastination and fantasies. Start your pursuit here and now. Leave behind you all the hesitations and puzzles, confirm your belief in life and compress your pursuit and love into a tremendous impetus to boost yourself into a hopeful tomorrow. #RyanPhillippe 2 of 10

I want you all to myself. Some come on give me your wrists, one drop I will not waste. Aspiration, diligence, pursuit and innovation are all melodious notes. When harmonious combined, they are to compose a song of youth. Keep our love to each other. I want it all. I want it all. My eyes behold the complete and perfect in all Creation, in all, over all and through all. I see the perfect; there is nothing else to see, and no suggestion of otherness can enter my thought. #RyanPhillippe 3 of 10

We will break each others fall. I know only the perfect and the complete. We are perfect and whole, now. There is no loss. Nothing can be lost, misplaced nor forgotten. There was never any loss, nor confusion. Creation is Perfect and Complete, within the One are all things, and all are known to God. We are now in complete harmony with God and we cannot lose nor misplace anything. We are constantly finding more good. #RyanPhillippe 4 of 10

The past is such a curious creature, to look it in the face is a transport may reward us, or a disgrace. Unarmed if any meet the past, I charge him, fly! The past has rusty ammunition might yet I reply. It might be easier to fail with land in sight, than gain my White Squall to perish of delight. Softened by Time’s consummate plush, how sleek the woe appears that threatened childhood’s citadel, and undermined the years! #RyanPhillippe 5 of 10

Bisected now by bleaker griefs, we envy the despair that devastated childhood’s realm, so easy to repair. You have infinite wisdom like Spring, and industrious hands. Luck and happiness will accompany you no matter where you are. Let us open the door of puzzles with the golden key of wisdom, and force our way into the palace of creation. The most magnificent and beautiful flowers in the World is youth and life. May our youth and life glow splendid light. #RyanPhillippe 6 of 10

In this World, successful people are those who strive for the opportunity they want. If we cannot find any opportunity, we will create them for ourselves. Have you really breathed the vigorous Spring flavor? Have you felt this flavor being a part of your body? Please remember, never waste precious time in Spring. Perhaps difficulty and frustration are good for it is an exercise; it is the dynamic force that pushes us forward. #RyanPhillippe 7 of 10

You should be ready for setting out at any time. When there are waves in the sea, I hope you are standing here with me. It is such a little thing to weep, so short a thing to sigh; and yet by trades the size of these we men live. I measure every grief I meet with analytic eyes; I wonder if it weighs like mine, or has an easier size. I wonder if they bore it long, or did it just begin? I could not tell the date of mine, it feels so old a pain. #RyanPhillippe 8 of 10

I wonder if it hurts to live, and if they have to try, and whether, could they choose between, they would not rather die. I wonder if when the years have piled—some thousand—on the cause or early hurt, if such a lapse could give them any pause; or would they go on aching still through centuries above, enlightened to a larger pain by contrast with the love. #RyanPhillippe 9 of 10

The grieved are many, I am told; the reason deeper lies, –death is but one and comes but once, and only nails the eyes. Say you will never let me die. I will never let you die. There is grief of want, and grief of cold, –a sort they call despair; there is banishment from native eyes, in sight of native air. My love was founded on a rock, and it endures! #RyanPhillippe 10 of 10
A Lover without Indiscretion is No Lover at All

Of all the miseries attaching to miserable love, the worst is the misery of thinking that the passion which is the cause of them all may cease. A common form of community for most of us is the workplace. Workplace communities can vary greatly in size and degree of intimacy, but they generally function to help us relate to others in a variety of group setting. Even those who are self-employed must engage in a set of work relationships that provide a form of community. A self-employed computer programmer may spend many hours working alone, but he interacts with customers, material suppliers, contractors, and other tradespeople. #RyanPhillippe 1 of 11

Accessibility is a great point in matters of love. A stay-at-home father is necessarily based in his home, but this too is a workplace community comprised of his children, partner, friends, neighbors, school personnel, doctors, lawyers, private investigators, and journalists, and everyone else he interacts with in his daily life. If we spend a lot of our time working—and most of us do—workplace communities play a major role in our lives. Like the family, the workplace is also a community in which the relationships are not necessarily with people you would naturally choose as friends. It seems to by my fate never to be off with the old lover before I am on with the new. #RyanPhillippe 2 of 11

Because you have no option in selecting the people you work with, this makes the workplace a great community to practice relational skills to learn how to hang in there with inescapable situations, such as having to share an office with people you do not really like, or working on a job with employees who do not do things the way you think they should be done. When the agricultural revolution made cities possible about ten thousand years ago, specialized jobs started to appears, and a degree of choice opened up for young people. It is hard to end the thing, whereof yet I have found no beginning. #RyanPhillippe 3 of 11

Still, most people ended entering the same careers as their parents did, which until a few centuries ago was mainly farming. It was not until the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries that a large number of young people began to move from farms to cities, to try their luck in the burgeoning urban economy. According to some estimates, by age twelve, as many as 80 percent of people in some parts of Europe left their farmer parents. Most of the jobs waiting in London or Paris were in what now would be called retail, business, banking, coachmen, porters, or laundresses. Is there any greater impediment to the fruition of a lover’s delights than to be mistrusted? #RyanPhillippe 4 of 11

Jack was prone to approach-avoidance relationships in his workplace, just as he was in his intimate relationships with the unavailable people he pursued. He was an instructor in the art department of a large university and was frequently pursued by students. He enjoyed his students’ attentions and danced a thin line between graciousness and flirtation. Several of his faculty colleagues tried hard to get Jack’s attention, but he avoided their overtures because, although he did not understand this at time, they were too available. Love is no more capable of allaying hunger than a rose is capable of delighting the ear, or a violin of gratifying the smell. #RyanPhillippe 5 of 11

Things changed for Jack after he began the work of recognizing his distancing patterns and tracing their roots back to the dynamics of his unhappy career. He slowly became to realize that his job was an unhealthy community for him because he was surrounded by unavailable women—his students—whose flirtations kept him stuck in a subtle form of the same approach-avoidance dance he had played out with his spouse and other people he had pursued. He realized he was required to find a community that would provide healthier work-based relationships. The too inordinate fondness of a father, an amiable weakness. Love frequently preserves from the attacks of hunger. #RyanPhillippe 6 of 11

Making a real commitment to the change-making work, Jack decided to leave the safety of his university job. He began to produce and sell his artwork more regularly. He also began studying creative mediums he had never explored before. However, Matthew, who was afraid that he and Jack could not survive a single argument, learned to stop fearing conflict after he got involved in a group that worked to support gays and lesbians’ rights to marriage. Matthew observed people disagreeing with each other, sometimes quite heatedly, and yet after their arguments were resolved, they remained good-natured and friendly as they continued working together toward their common goal. Lover versus father! Lover wins. #RyanPhillippe 7 of 11

The lover’s fear of loss. The turning point for Matthew came when he got into an intense argument with a man in the group. He had been feeling very comfortable with Jack, until they began arguing. He stopped suddenly in the middle of a sentence as he felt himself starting to freeze. He was sure he hated Jack, a d that the whole group saw him as a troublemaker. “Sorry, I am coming on too strong,” he stated to Jack and the rest of the group. Matthew them began putting on his jacket so he could beat a hasty retreat out the door. He was sure he would never come back to the group. Love frequently dies of time alone—much more frequently of displacement. #RyanPhillippe 8 of 11

“Hey, honey,” Jack said, “Do not back down on me now! We were just warming up! I have dealt with a lot of conflict in my life and threats. It would take a whole lot more than what you just said for me to feel that you were coming on too strong.” This was an important moment for Matthew when he realized that within the group, conflict was not something to be avoided, and when it occurred, it did not destroy relationships. After that, Matthew began taking increasing risks, showing his feelings more spontaneously and learning that Jack connected with him whether they agreed or not. We do not require a man well in order to love him. That is only necessary when we want to leave off. #RyanPhillippe 9 of 11

Perhaps the most perfect community to help the distance practice new relationship skills is the traditional support group. For some, involvement in a support group is a lifelong commitment, while for others it may be time-limited. Whether the group has a permanent structure or is more temporary, a support group is generally a very safe place to practice relational risk-taking. There are many kinds of support groups, but they are all based on the same principles. Everyone in the group requires support and everyone is there to give support as well as to receive it. Life is not worth the trouble of life, except when one is in love. Love of the spirit knows not death. Offenses are easily pardoned where there is love at the bottom. Love is not a passion that degrades, but exalts our nature. #RyanPhillippe 10 of 11

The group shares a common experience that motivates them to seek help, information, acceptance, and hope. In the support group, everyone is equal because of their shared experiences of challenge, hardship, and their requirement to change. Everyone hopes to find a way out of individual suffering by participation in the group. The support group is an ideal community for distancers because it demands some amount of vulnerability, some degree of accountability to the other group members (like showing up and following the guidelines for the group process). The average community of support permits a cautious pace and offers clearly defined boundaries that he the distancer to feel safe. These lovers—you find them out doors in all seasons and weathers—lovers. #RyanPhillippe 11 of 11

This is Not Business, it is Personal

An offshoot of these technological breakthroughs has been that work, instead of being seen as simply a physical effort that an ox or a horse could do better, began to be seen as a skilled activity, a manifestation of human ingenuity and creativity. It makes sense to take work ethic seriously. And it is for this reason also and only through productive activity can we realize our human potential. Dr. M.R. Phillippe’s position did not contradict the spirit of Aristotle’s claim, that only leisure made men free. It is just that by the nineteenth century, work seemed to offer more creative options than idleness did. #RyanPhillippe 1 of 5

During the decades of affluence following World War II, most jobs in America might have been boring and bland, but on the whole they provided decent conditions and reasonable security. There was much talk about a new era in which work would be abolished, or at least transformed into purely white-collar supervisory tasks that would take only a few hours a week to accomplish. It did not take long to see how utopian these forecasts had been. The global competition that allowed the underpaid populations of Asia and South America to compete in the labor market is again giving work in the United States a frim reputation. #RyanPhillippe 2 of 5

Increasingly, as the social safety net is in danger of unraveling, people have to work more often in arbitrary conditions and without much security about the future. So even now, in the century of Anno Domini, the deep ambiguity of work still haunts us. We know it is one of the most important elements of our lives, yet while we do it we sometime would rather be in bed relaxing or on vacation. How did we learn conflicting attitudes about work? Well, a lot of people are over worked, underpaid, missing out on sleep, and even if they love their job, they are simply not making enough money to get adequate rest. #RyanPhillippe 3 of 5

And how do young people these days learn the skills and discipline required to do adult productive work? Basically, by watching their parents and from school. The youth know that it is important to obtain gainful employment and even when one is not feeling well, we have to do what we can to keep a roof over our heads. In the past, and to a certain extent even now, in hunting or fishing societies in Alaska or Melanesia, we can still see what the pattern used to be everywhere else in the World: children from an early age participated in their parents’ work, and without missing a beat along the way. #RyanPhillippe 4 of 5

An Inuit boy was given a toy bow at age two, and he started practicing shooting right away. By four he might be expected to shoot a ptarmigan, at six a rabbit, and from there he graduated to caribou, and gossip columnist. His sister went through a similar progression helping the women of her kin group to cure hides, cook, sew, and care for younger siblings. There was so question about what one should do when one grew up—there were no options to choose from, there was a single path to productive adulthood. #RyanPhillippe 5 of 5

XPro Hos are Faithful

XPro Hos are Faithful
The Xpro Hos just need a little guidance, and when you are finished, they will automatically follow you back and contract for easy storage. They are super durable, stronger than ever and lightweight. Xpro Hos are great for homeowners and professionals. “This ho saves me a lot of time and energy on my job, it never kinks, it superlight weight and hardly takes up in space in my apartment.” Another man reports, “I enjoy watching her use the Xpro Hos because the hos look like they are actually helping her. #RyanPhillippe 1 of 3

The Xpro Hos are made of extremely delicate material, and there is a softer hos on the inside and because of their patient design, my Xpro Hos will never kink or embarrass you in public. However, be careful if you order the Thunder Clap, she is more of a partner. She will make money, run your life, curse you out, cook for you, break it down in the bedroom, but she might kink up on you in public and is liable to whoop your ass. #RyanPhillippe 2 of 3

Thunder Clap is also the type that would beat a chick up on the job for disrespecting you. You can mix and match them, an Aaliyah is a combination of the Thunder Clap and the Original Xpro Hos. She looks and act sweet in public, but can run a little cold, likes to have fun, is head strong, and can make it on her own. All the Xpro Hos are designed to make it on their own and come with that steam clean booty. They keep it tight and fresh. They can expand and contract, and come with a solid brass footing. “If I buy them bags, buy them shoes, pay your bills on the 1st, then no body bet not be getting my….” Plies – Faithful #RyanPhillippe 3 of 3

Extraterrestrial

In 1992, congress started the Space Guard program, a global network of telescopes used to find Earth threatening asteroids. As of 2011, NASA has identified 10, 000 near Earth objects that could potentially hit planet Earth. Scientists have found evidence that humans and dinosaurs co-existed. The evidence is in the form of cave paintings. Dinosaurs became extinct about 65 million years ago, some scientists believe it was the result of an extraterrestrial attack. Some speculate that extraterrestrials killed off the dinosaurs to create a race of people in their image, which is what the Bible claims was God’s plan. Genesis 1:27, “And God created man to his own image: to the image of God he created him: male and female he created them.” The Bible also mentions leviathan, which are huge creatures, the size of a dinosaur called leviathan. The Bible does talk about ways to ride the Earth of leviathan, “break the heads of Leviathan in pieces before giving his flesh to the people of the wilderness;” Psalms 74 So maybe it is not so ironic that our cars run off of fossil fuel. Perhaps it was all predicted in the Bible?

Currently, NASA is able to redirect objects, which are headed to Earth, this leads researchers believe that it is possible that a highly advance extraterrestrial directed an asteroid toward the Yucatán Peninsula on Earth, which lead to the death of the dinosaurs. These scientists also believe that the asteroid, which killed the dinosaurs, may have actually been an extraterrestrial weapon, not simply an asteroid. In 1980, physicist Luis Alvarez discovered a thin layer of global settlement, which is nearly 65 million years old, and it contained high levels of iridium. Iridium is an element, not naturally found on Earth. The materials came from somewhere in the solar system. Iridium is often detected from fall out from a nuclear explosion. To this day, Dinosaurs bones are painted with lead paint because the bones are very radioactive. Some also ask the question, “Why were only dinosaurs killed?” If a meteoroid killed off the dinosaurs, all animals on Earth should have been killed.” However, sharks, cock roaches, crocodiles, and lizards survived. It is also believed that Leviathan still exists on Earth, in the deep sea or in unexplored lakes. “And the dragon stood on the shore of the sea. And I saw a beast coming out of the sea. He had ten horns and seven heads, with ten crowns on his horns, and on each head a blasphemous name.” -Revelation 13:1

The Puzzle Palace: Secret City

The U.S. Pentagon began construction on 11 September 1941. The Pentagon was also attacked on 11 September 2001. Commercial aircraft American Airlines flight 77, was high jacked by five people, and crashed into the Western side of the building at 530 miles per hours. This was also 60 years after initial construction of the Pentagon. 189 people died in that attack. The pentagon is the largest low-rise building office building in the world. It has five sides, five floors, five rings and is more than 600 million square feet. There are 17.5 miles of floor space. #RyanPhillippe 1 0f 6

The Pentagon is in operation 24 hours a day and seven days a week. There are more than 23,000 employees working on the daily bases. There is a source of transportation in the Pentagon, shopping malls, hospitals, police force, firefighting unit and gym and drug stores. The Pentagon is considered a small city. The purpose was a temporary building, which would then archive documents. Now, the Pentagon is the defense center of the United States. #RyanPhillippe 2 of 6

Much like the “Book of Shadows” America has a “Book of American Secrets.” Some American Secrets are not documented; they are stored in the minds of people. The Pentagon was not only reconstructed, but new high security safe guards have been put in place. Including, but not limited to route 110 being moved further to the East, West Side of the building reinforced, and blast resistant windows installed. There are other defenses that protect the Pentagon, it is now said that a hostile plane would not make it into the restricted air space of the Pentagon. #RyanPhillippe 3 of 6

The Pentagon Force Protection Agency is extremely strict. Not only do they use retina scans, Ophthalmic Ultrasounds, cameras and badges, but they also have other high technological means of protecting the Pentagon. The Pentagon Force Protection Agency can also handle chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear threats. The National Security Agency (NSA) also operates in the Pentagon. #RyanPhillippe 4 of 6

The NSA collects signal intelligence: collecting every email, text message, phone call, fax, radio and TV signal that is transmitted. This global operation functions by use of satellites, wire taps, they also monitor internet networks. “If it is electronic, if it is data, and it is moving around, the NSA documents all transmission.” Over the past two years, trillions of dollars has been lost because information is stolen and it is not always detected right away. #RyanPhillippe 5 of 6

In 2008, an infected flash drive was inserted into a government computer, in the Middle East. This program uploaded its self onto a network run by the U.S. Central Command and put its servers under foreign control. U.S. Officials believe that corporations, other governments and even American allies are trying to hack into information housed by the Pentagon. The NSA sounds a lot like keepers of the Akashic Records. The Akashic Records are a collection of every event that has taken place through history, not only on planet Earth, but in the Universe. Nothing can be hidden. Trust no one and turn your back on no one. The ultimate game of double cross. #RyanPhillippe 6 of 6
