Love between Us is an Illusion

The heart cannot be good without knowledge. Romantic relationships are the most meaningful elements in the lives of many people, as they provide a deep source of joy, pleasure, and fulfillment. However, there are big problems that afflict relationships like infidelity, abuse, and addition. Before you know it, you feel manipulated, unloved, unheard, and unappreciated. It is like your spouse is part of a conspiracy to keep chiseling away at your heart, but unlike Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni, they are not trying to create the master piece like David, but instead they want to leave a huge sinkhole in your chest. At first you were depressed, now you are abusing me. The solution is to figure out how to negotiate with your partner so you two stay connected instead of being alienated. #RyanPhillippe 1 of 6

It is helpful in overcoming resistance and taking responsibility for our negative programs and feelings to see that they come from the small aspect of ourselves to think negatively, so there is an unconscious tendency to agree readily to its limited viewpoint. We may not be conscious of our inner greatness. We may not be experiencing it, but it is there. If we let go of our resistance to it, we can begin to experience it. It is a glorious fever, that desire to know. The way out of negativity is the willingness to acknowledge and let go of negative feelings, and stop resisting love. Allow yourself to feel good and open up to people who care about you. No matter how special or dear you are to someone, after the love is gone, you cannot get it back, so keep that in mind. #RyanPhillippe 2 of 6

Some people may feel like they are so special to you that no matter how badly they treat you and no matter how long they force you to endure it, you will never leave them. In fact, you have been so hard on your spouse that you actually catch them becoming attracted to others. The important thing in the relationship is not to control your spouse, but to communicate with them and express how important they are to you and pay attention to them. Find things about your spouse that means something to them and talk about it in a nice way. It is apparent that we are resisting good feelings of love, generosity, and forgiveness. Sit down and imagine the quality of generosity and stop fighting it. Remember how it feels when we express gratitude and acknowledge the gifts that have been given to us. #RyanPhillippe 3 of 6

Some people feel like their spouse is evil and trying to such all the hope, love, and joy out of their hearts and walks around like a mean brat and expect you to love them through it. A person physically and emotionally hurts you and keeps doing it. Because feelings and emotions often seem overwhelming and threatening, they become suppressed, avoided, or denied—which reinforces inner division between you and your spouse because they are trying to control or manipulate you. If you learn to acknowledge your feelings and understand your relationship is not going to work go and let go of it, you will experience compassion, strength, clarity, peace, and balance. Do not allow yourself to be blinded and mislead by their thoughts—stories and movies their mind projects onto reality, based on scripts and identities formed to keep you in the dark. #RyanPhillippe 4 of 6

I might react to my spouse neglecting me with anger and blame, which will only push you further away. First of all, I need to work with my emotional reaction, by learning to open to the anger instead of trying to get rid of it by discharging it on you. Then I can begin to look at what is really happening, apart from my emotionally laden interpretations of what is going on. For myself, I see that my anger is driven by a movie in my mind—I see I do not matter to you, which in turn triggers an even more intense horror movie, dating back to childhood—I do not matter at all. Looking into my sense of not mattering, I see that I have a hard time feeling it is all right to have my emotional needs or clearly express them. After the past year of dealing with you, I am convinced that you are a lost cause. #RyanPhillippe 5 of 6

Out of my lack of entitlement, I create situations where people tend to neglect me, leaving me feeling frustrated, empty, and sad. This pattern of frustration is caused by your inattention, which then makes me feel like I am not worthy of receiving what I need so that can let myself acknowledge my emotional needs and then communicate them clearly and directly. So I am going to find a new way of dealing with this situation by just letting go. Since I cannot seem to get you to come around and treat me right, I am going to start going out until I meet someone knew, someone who will actually appreciate me. You keep hooking up with these rag tag barely legal teens and others, so I am going out to meet someone more on my level. It is over. Love between us is an illusion. You have not done anything nice for me and I am tried of pretending and forgiving you so you can find new ways to hurt me. You are an evil person. #RyanPhillippe 6 of 6

The House Facing the World Chronicles

The love course of life shines in the corner of life obscurely like leisurely clouds, I have a most valuable gift to present you, which is my pure heart. Take pride, the young eagle soaring across the ocean, as you possess a heart like the blue sky and will weave in persistent hope and pursuit a magnificently bright future. All things are different from one another. Try to understand him if you feel like doing so. He will move forward according to his own circumstances. If I have something to do with him, then indeed I shall try to understand him. What sort of person he is, why does he say so, what is his attitude, how does he speak? I shall try to know all that. Then only shall I be able to deal with him. As soon as you accept that as it is, your ego disappears then and there. #RyanPhillippe 1 of 11

Thank you for giving me wind and light for my sailing at the black night. My boat of life goes through long night and wave because of you. I will present you a special gift, my love for you is beyond words and you serve every beautiful thing. Unity with the other means to see, understand, and feel the other as he is. Understanding engenders empathy, empathy calls forth love and unity. When you see other, you are free from the other. Does there appear to be a contradiction here? When I see that he is just he, how do I get free from him? How can I keep him, as well as get free from him? You get free from him when you say, he is. Why? Because you have no expectations toward him! #RyanPhillippe 2 of 11

You use your heart and blood to irrigate the seedlings. There are brilliance of exotic flowers and rare herbs you fostered in gardens. I wish you have a happy, joyous and proud life every day. Try simply to understand that he is he. This effort to understand, the feeling that I have understood, gives you freedom from him. My friend, your voice still lingers in my heart like the murmur of the seawater wafting in the silence of an audience of a pine forest. In my heart, there is a secret, it is contained in only four words—I miss you sorely. One is free from him by understanding what he is. Why? Freedom from whom? From my own mental creation, from the relationship that I have forged in my mind with him. #RyanPhillippe 3 of 11

When we try to fit others into our standards or resist how they are, we actually contract and harden the boundaries of the separate self at the same time. We become smaller ourselves. However, the act of appreciating the differentness of others, letting then be as they are, literally loosens and dissolves the boundaries that keep us separate at the same time. The feeling of being not separate emerges in the heart only by accepting what is different. In this way, we come to know others in their suchness, and are at-one with them. Unity, or nonseparateness, then, does not come about through transcending the difference between self and other, but through fully allowing the other’s differentness—which naturally undermines self-centeredness. #RyanPhillippe 4 of 11

You do nothing but swindle the public and prey upon the pockets of the sick. Your safety is due to the fact that your gibberish is unintelligible to the public, who fancy that it must have meaning, and the consequence is that no one comes near you without being cheated. Your art does not consist in curing the sick, but in worming yourself into the favor of the rich, in swindling the poor, and in gaining admittance to the kitchens of the noblemen of the country. You live upon imposture, and the assistance and abetment of the legal profession enables you to carry on your impostures, and to evade punishment by the law. You poison the people and ruin their health; you are sworn to use diligence in your art; but how could you do so, as you possess no art, and all your boasted science is nothing but an invention to cheat and deceive? #RyanPhillippe 5 of 11

You do not spare the sick; how could I expect that you would respect me, while I am cutting down your income by exposing your pretension and ignorance to the public? One goes to the doctor’s office, undergoes treatment, and returns to the World facing it exactly as before has missed an opportunity to face the World with soul. It reminds one very much of the worship of the golden calf when one sees the people throng around that man simply because he is rich. That he is made so much of on account of his wealth is not the worst part. You do not emphasize enough the fact that his ignorance is forgiven on account of his wealth. He has a high power lawyer from the city. Thus, while the double meaning would be retained, the displacement-wit would be eliminated. #RyanPhillippe 6 of 11

The answer is given from the viewpoint of a rich man. The beggar acts as if it were his own money that he was willing to sacrifice for his health, as if money and health concerned the same person. The officer who gives the artilleryman, Ryan, the nonsensical advice pretends to be stupid in order to show Ryan how unfair he is acting. He imitates Ryan as if to say, “I will now give you some advice which is exactly as smart as you are.” He enters into Ryan’s game and makes him conscious of it by making it the basis of a proposition which meet with Ryan’s wishes, for if Ryan owned a cannon and took up the art of warfare on his own account, of what advantage would his intelligence and ambition be to him? #RyanPhillippe 7 of 11

You have no right to reproach me. How could you be so foolish as to leave your son in a house where he must live in the constant companionship of a young man? As if it were possible for a stranger to be responsible for the chastity of a scholar under such circumstances! I know, Ryan, that you are an intelligent business man, but I must tell you that you are very stupid if you do not realize that one cannot act in the army as one does in business, where each one is out for himself and competes with the other. Military service demands subordination and co-operation. Did I say something foolish? It is remarkable what mortal hands can accomplish. How beautifully everything is arranged by nature. #RyanPhillippe 8 of 11

A gentleman entered a shop and ordered a fancy cake, which, however, he soon returned, asking for some liqueur in its stead. He drank the liqueur, and was about to leave without paying for it. The shopkeeper held him back. “What do you want me of?” he asked. “Please pay for the liqueur,” said the shopkeeper. “But I have given you the fancy cake for liqueur.” “Yes, but you have not paid for that either.” “Well, neither have I eaten it.” This little story also bears the semblance of logic which we already know as the suitable façade for faulty thinking. The error, obviously, lies in the fact that the cunning customer established a connection between the return of the fancy cake and its exchange for the liqueur, a connection, which really does not exist. The state of affairs may be divided into two processes which, as far as the shopkeeper is concerned, are independent of each other. #RyanPhillippe 9 of 11

While at the dinner, Ryan first took the fancy cake and returned it, so that he owes nothing for it. He then took the liqueur, for which he owes money. One might say that the customer uses the relation “for it” in a double sense, or, to speak more correctly, by means of a double sense, he forms a relation which does not hold in reality. A similar nonsense technique results when the joke sims to maintain a connection which seems to be removed through the special conditions of its content. A joke of this sort is: “Is this the place where Duke of Wellington spoke these words?” “Yes, this is the place; but he never spoke those words.” The opportunity now presents itself for making a not unimportant confession. #RyanPhillippe 10 of 11

We are here busying ourselves with an investigation of technique of wit by means of examples, and we ought to be sure that the examples which we have selected are really true witticisms. The facts are, however, the in a series of cases, we fall into doubt as to whether or not the example in question may be called a joke. We have no criterion at our disposal before investigation itself furnishes one. Usage of language is unreliable and is itself in need of examination for its authority. To decide the question, we can rely on nothing else but a certain “feeling,” which we may interpret by saying that in our judgment, the decision follows certain criteria which are not yet accessible to our knowledge. We shall naturally not appeal to this “feeling” for substantial proof. In the case of the last-mentioned example, we cannot help doubting whether we may present it as a witticism, as a sophistical witticism, or merely as a sophism. The fact is that we do not yet know wherein the character of wit lies. #RyanPhillippe 11 of 11

Stage of Acceptance–the Demand to Humanize

I have long been the tomb of my youth. And more has died out of me, already, than remains for the last death to finish. A part of handling denial of the inevitability of loss is seeing through attempts at manipulation. In fantasy, the mind tries to develop tactics so as to avoid the transition. This may take form of becoming a goodie goodie, or becoming more hard-working, more honest, more persevering, and increasing loyalty. In religious people this make take form in trying to manipulate God by promises and bargains. With relationships, the spouse will usually become ever more dutiful, loving, and attentive in an attempt to prevent a breakup. The inattentive husband suddenly starts bringing gifts to the house and flowers, instead of getting to the root of the problem. Blind fortune hates sharp sighted inventions. #RyanPhillippe 1 of 14

It is not what is done to us, but what is made of us. No man can be really injured but by what modifies him. When the denial breaks down, the manipulations have not worked, and the fear has been passed through, then the depression itself, the actual process of mourning and grief, takes place. All of these emotional stages can be worked through much more rapidly by the process of letting go, in which the inevitability of the emotion of grief is surrendered to and replaced by a willingness to let go of resistance and let the process pass through and complete itself. There can be a decision to let go of resisting the grief. It is the lot of sensibility to suffer, and of confiding tenderness to be deceived. Instead of denial and resistance, you plunge into it and get over it. You have a good cry, while listening to some Aaliyah music over the lost relationship. #RyanPhillippe 2 of 14

A man must live, even though his heart be broken, and living he must dine. One would think that, as since the beginning of the World almost, the tide of emigration has been setting west, the needle would point that way; whereas, it is forever pointing its fixed forefinger toward the Pole, where there are few inducements to attract a sailor, unless it be plenty of ice for mint-juleps. The true Southern watermelon is a boon apart, and not to be mentioned with commoner things. When the parlor fire gets low, put coals on the kitchen fire. Such is man: no use in having their hearts, if ye do not have their stomachs. Lack of participation in extra-curricular activities seems to acquire meaning in loneliness, fear, hostility or frustration. We mortals, men and women, devour many a disappointment between breakfast and dinnertime. #RyanPhillippe 3 of 14

Wealth or success of the father may have an adverse influence on the son through paternal absence, deprivation of companionship and counsel, overbearing demand for emulation, possible lack of interest or lack of requirement for individual success or effort in the son. In the sum, the picture that emerges from these fascinating prospective studies of early death among Harvard and Pennsylvania university students reveals that heavy cigarette smoking, nonparticipation in extracurricular sports, secretiveness, and social isolation, loneliness, and early loss of a parent are highly predictive of both suicide and premature death from coronary heart disease. *Early parental death might signify some hereditary weakness or environmental trait transferable to the child in the form of a predisposition to heart disease. And each time the heart pulses, there is a moment of uncertainty, a little death, and from that point of absolute contraction there occurs a moment of radiation, an outpouring that even extends beyond the boundaries of the physical body. #RyanPhillippe 4 of 14

If you pay attention, you can feel the rhythm of life. When one attunes oneself to this rhythm, the perception of the outer World becomes perceptible. The soul of the World gradually reveals itself. The key to regeneration lies in the moment of uncertainty that takes place eighteen times a minute, for the ever-present gap that distinguishes the rhythm of the heart from the continuous roll of the machine locates vulnerability as essential to the outpouring of the heart and to continuing creative activity within the soul of the World. We make a very large error assuming the World to be finished. The World is an ongoing creative action of soul, taking place rhythmically, in time with the musical activity of the heart that creates our bodies. #RyanPhillippe 5 of 14

Death and dying force upon us a certain honesty about life and living. Where truth is lacking in living, truth will be lacking in dying. In fact, life and death appear related: the more life the easier death; the less life the more terrible death. I do not mean these in the physical and literal sense, but rather in the human and figurative sense. In the face of finitude we find ourselves driven to deal with our work, our worth, our love, our life. What is most terrifying about dying and death us the lack of a living connectedness. Without presence, we are without hope; without contact, we are without grounding. So we find we are required to face what separates the living from the dying. We find we are required to face our own limits and our own end. For, many of us, will die. #RyanPhillippe 6 of 14

In facing death, we are finding life. And in finding life we establish a living connectedness. We come closer to one another for mutual gratification and upbuilding. Perhaps no other experience accentuates this demand as much as the inadequacy of doing and the necessity for being. To be able to do something tends to reduce uncomfortableness and to hold out hope of change. To have to be someone tends to heighten uncomfrotableness and to imply no change. This means to let be, to allow to be, to accept what is as it is. To do means to interfere, to alter, to go beyond what is to what might be. In the presence of the last dividing line, the only thing we can do is to be. God has resurrected human in the past. The Bible reports eight instance of humans—young, old, male, and female—who were brought back to life on Earth. Some had been dead for a short while, but one had been in a tomb for four days (John 11:39-44). #RyanPhillippe 7 of 14

God is eager to raise the dead again. God hates death; he views it as an enemy. God has a yearning to conquer death, to undo death by means of the resurrection. God longs to bring back those who are in his memory and to see them live on Earth again (Job 14:14, 15). God is the source of life and gave life to all living creatures and is certainly capable of restoring life to someone who has died. The courage to be is inseparably linked with the courage to be known. The existential demand upon each of us individually has its accompanying interpersonal demand. I can be courageous if I can communicate to a significant other what matters desperately to me. Communication constitutes the core of the doing of being alive. When I can say to you what I am experiencing, then we have entered into a transforming communion. Distance disappears. Loneliness lessens. Isolation is swallowed up by oneness. As I am known, so I am I. #RyanPhillippe 8 of 14

Now is the time, and here is the place. What one person says to another in the face of death counts more intensely than in any other here-and-now. The one who is anticipating the end wants to be heard, aches to be understood, longs to be in touch. There is a heightened awareness that every word matters, each moments counts, every gesture carries special weight. Not that I am dying, but I am constantly isolated and yearning to talk to someone, and sometimes I spend so much time alone, that I feel like I cannot breathe and that I am slipping into a blackhole. I may not know many of you, but walking around the castle with you all and seeing your smiling faces and beautiful eyes and also the flowers, trees, grass, and architecture gives me a sense of stability and makes me feel connected to the community and alive. #RyanPhillippe 9 of 14

For me, those walks around the castle is much like when you were a kid, and how excited you would be to watch Saturday morning cartoons, with a glass of cranberry juice and your favourite cereal. The quality of the connectedness replaces the quantity of the connections. A sense of eternity comes with experiencing being known by another and knowing the other right here and right now. I wrote my son a letter and I want to share part of it with you all. Here it is: You give me credit for so much courage and you said you do not want me to suffer anymore. Countless times I have felt that. I have a lot courage of my own. I can never know when I should live or when I should go. Here, however, with you, I can pray for strength and courage and grace to meet whatever proves to be the experience. Without you, I do not see how I could have gotten through the past few years. #RyanPhillippe 10 of 14

I think the worst of all was the first few days of this last time in the hospital. They seemed unendurable. It was a kaleidoscopic hell. People just kept asking for money and the vibes were uncomfortable, but I also worried for you. Without prayer, I do not see how I could have endured these days. The thing that mean so very much to me, Randolph, was your understanding of me enough to know that you could say what you did then—that it looked as though we were heading from a crisis, you hoped and prayed it might be for the better, but you realized it might be for the worse. You are the only person who seems to know me well enough to know that you could say that. The fact that we have been able to show our love and affection for each other is one of the precious things of life. #RyanPhillippe 11 of 14

You referred to our having faced the official issues of life together. I felt, too, that we have and yet you know very little was out into words. Let us learn to have the strength of confidence, the strength that will enable us to live forever in the aspiration for the better, and to return in act from the virtual World, but still we are require that aspiration. There is a release and a peace one never experienced before. Many cultural factors have served to compound the problems of children who experience the early loss of a parent. Perhaps the most serious is the disappearance of the extended family. In previous generations most individuals came from larger families which tended to remain in the same location. In the absence of a parent or if the parents were forced to work, the child usually was cared for and given ample love by grandparents or even aunts and uncles. That is why Victorian houses were so large. A modest sized home was 4,800 square feet and three stories tall, with a basement, and many private rooms. #RyanPhillippe 12 of 14

However, in our current of significantly smaller families and high social mobility, the extended family has shrunk and, in many cases, totally disappeared. People are more interested in social media and trying to impress the community with how wealthy they are, and seem to care less about their kin. Readily available sources of love and emotional support have largely disappeared. Many children are, of necessity, raised in impersonal settings whose medial effect may not be fully apparent for decades. Every member of the human population, even pets, young, antiquated, can be seriously affected by the lack of love and human companionship. #RyanPhillippe 13 of 14

If the social deprivation in infancy is acute, the physical effects will show up quickly. There are, however, external forces that tend to check such obvious neglect and abuse. Most children are able to evoke at least minimum amounts of love and attention necessary for their survival. They are not totally shut off from parental love. Still, many children are cheated…any children are seriously shortchanged. Parents can reduce contact with their children in the short run, and nothing may be apparent; but over the long run, serious emotional and physical problems may appear, even to the point of significantly shortening the child’s life space some 30 to 40 years. Be sure that all who are enraged against you will be ashamed and disgraced; those who contend with you will become as nothing and will perish like fleeting shadows of the night to be no more than illusions. #RyanPhillippe 14 of 14

May You Glitter the Way to the Future with Spark of Life!

May colorful clouds and bright Sun accompany you to your destination; fresh flowers and green grass will be with you in your future years. A man does not think of his lover first and then remember him or her. He feels his spouse presence first, and then he may go on to think about their connection. To reverse this produces a kind of schizophrenia. For the brain, heart is not only a pump but a muscle, and the schizoid state consists of the attempt to control the course of love instead of yielding to it. To conceive of the heart as a muscle or a pump attributes to the brain a priority that it does not have—the realization of love, the production of the desired feeling, is linked to the control of external things, and the feeling disappears the moment control is brought into question. #RyanPhillippe 1 of 17

Shake your hands tightly. There is something on my hands and lots of words in my heart and my secret which is hard to speak out. Most of the muscles of the body depend on a nerve connection to the brain for activation; and likewise, a pump requires some external source of power. However, while the rhythm of the heart requires stimulation, it does not rely on the brain. The wave that starts and keeps the heart beating coms from a tiny bundle of tissue in the right atrium, the sinoatrial node, the pacemaker of the heart. The heart has a mind of its own; it knows what to do without orders from above, just as someone who knows what is in his heart does not require directions concerning what to do and how to act. #RyanPhillippe 2 of 17

The heart stimulates imagination, the creation of fantasy. Cardiac arrhythmias may not be particularly serious, but they are a sign that the heart’s rhythms are being neglected. Medical personnel, more than many other groups, have constant and sustained relationships with those who are traveling through the valley of death. Unlike most of the population, they can avoid neither the experience nor the fact. The very nature of their work puts them in physical proximity to dying and death day in and day out. Their reactions are but the reactions of the rest of us writ large. A lofty ideal is a beacon to life. With it, one’s life is no longer aimless and heart no longer empty. Let us strive towards our set goals at a firm pace. #RyanPhillippe 3 of 17

The rhythms of the heart do not belong to that physical organ in the chest, but to the rhythm of the World, even to the rhythm of the cosmic World. Dazzling and restless bodies, these celestial objects are mysterious even now as, for the most part, they stride on stage in a completely unforeseeable way at absolutely random intervals. Observing these visitors, with orbits so long that we will never see them again in our lifetime, is a great privilege which connects us to the atavistic sensations of humanity’s first astronomers. Do not forget the road you are from, these glittering the colour of sweat, these with thistles and thorns, these rugged roads with tears and pains. #RyanPhillippe 4 of 17

The road one comes from is one’s most valuable treasure. One cannot walk smoothly until he remember the road he comes from in the past years. Due to their delicate beauty and the aura of mystery that has always surrounded them, comets are definitely among the most fascinating heavenly bodies. While ancient astronomers had developed complex models to predict the appearance and alterations in the sky’s other occupants, the enigmatic nature of comets prevailed. They showed up suddenly, stayed visible from a few days to a month, moved meticulously among the constellations, then disappeared. I will never forget you, and please remember me and come to see me often. May you be happy and smoothly in advance. #RyanPhillippe 5 of 17

Step in new life to everywhere of our country with memory and fantasy. A human being takes approximately eighteen breaths a minute, which comes to 1,080 breaths an hour, or 25,920 breaths a day. An ordinary life span is about 85 years. The number of days in 85 years is approximately 31,025. A cosmic year is 25,900 years. The cosmic year is the perfect year, as it is the number of years it will take before the Sun again rises at exactly the same moment as it does today is 25,920. These intriguing calculations point to the way in which the rhythm of the body is related to the rhythm of the cosmos. We do not recognize this correspondence because the periodicity is different. #RyanPhillippe 6 of 17

Meeting and departure, coming back and leaving are the end of happiness in the past years and of the cosmic year. Because of the difference in periodicity we are somewhat free from the rhythms of the cosmos; in ancient times, people experienced these relationships directly for they had access to the experience of their blood and could perceive its relation to the surrounding World. The development of intellectual consciousness dimmed this experience, which is no longer directly given but must be reimagined. #RyanPhillippe 7 of 17

Where did they come from? What were they? Where did they go when they disappeared? The advent of a Great Comet—a comet whose tail reaches exceptional dimension and whose head, or coma, shines as brightly as the brightest stars—was a powerful instigator of both curiosity and malaise, especially among the general public. In ancient times, the sudden appearance of such a monumental object had to be truly startling, rather as it is now. Even now that we know their nature, comets are still largely unpredictable objects capable of lighting up like headlights in the night and growing tails of incredible length and complexity or bursting like punctured balloons and disappointing everyone who waited for them with high hopes. This surely adds to their fascination. #RyanPhillippe 8 of 17

A few dozen comets are discovered every year in modern times, but most can be seen only by telescope. One average (over the last three centuries for which complete and reliable statistics are available), a comet visible to the eye has appeared once every two or three years; and only once in 10 years, more or less, does one appear that can be classified as a Great Comet. It is obviously the latter that attracts the most attention from devotees and, above all, from the public at large. Unfortunately, Great Comets do not always appear on schedule convenient for ordinary people. They are frequently visible only at dawn or immediately after Sundown, and their period peak visibility is often limited to one week. #RyanPhillippe 9 of 17
Life is a lot like a comet, it comes and goes before you know it, and most people miss their own lives because they are burden with unnecessary details and gossip. One of the most annoying things in Sacramento, California is there seem to be a lot of human drones, and they walk around and ask a lot of person questions and spend months talking about the same thing every time they see you. I got my car waxed six months another and ever since then the maintenance man keeps dancing around my car and asking me questions and it is so annoying because he is trying to tell me what kind of paint job it has and how long it will last. #RyanPhillippe 10 of 17

Surely, one cannot be helpful to another if the other’s pain keeps one’s own nerves rubbed raw. I think it is so annoying because I feel like these people are rude, they do not even say hello, nor ask how you are doing, but want to get all in your personal life about anything they can figure out. Like if you move your TV to another room, they want to know why. If you store your toilet paper in an unexpected place, even if there is some on the roll, they tell people you do not have any. These people make a lot of assumptions and love to gossip, spread rumors, and profile people. That is a shame because life can be fleeting and you really do not know how much time you have to live. #RyanPhillippe 11 of 17

It may be difficult to avoid developing a practical callousness as a means of staying close to death and dying without feeling overwhelmed. Some kind of distance is necessary, yet we need to distinguish between an accurate empathy that finds in the other what is in truth the other’s experience and sensitive sympathy that finds in the other what is in truth one’s own experiences. While everyone’s death diminishes me, and while each one’s finitude is a reminder of my own finitude, another’s death is not my death. And to make it so is to limit my helpful response to that human pain. #RyanPhillippe 12 of 17

We seemed to be faced with the startling paradox that, as patients more and more indicate a preference for being informed of the hopelessness of their situation, physicians are becoming more and more reluctant to do to. Doctors sometimes do not let people know that their situations are hopeless and their life is almost over. It is found that only 30 percent of doctors’ information their patients that they are hopeless and near death. And in some cases, 90 percent of doctors will not tell their patients they are near dying. Many physicians favored not telling the patient of the possibility of death. At the same time and in sharp contrast, 77 to 89 percent of the patients wanted to know. #RyanPhillippe 13 of 17

The anxious avoidance of death and dying by medical personnel only serves as an indicator of the reaction of most of us. When we try to avoid the uncomfortableness, we still tend to be overwhelmed by the uncertainty. What can we say? How can we react? We find ourselves surrounding the dying person with a curtain of silence. Over 100 million Americans have some degree of coronary artery disease, which is described as a symptomless disorder characterized by the thickening and deteriorating of the blood supply conduits to the heart. Cholesterol in the body is primarily responsible for insulating the electrical activities of the brain, one from the other, so that we do not short-circuit ourselves. #RyanPhillippe 14 of 17

Cholesterol is also a necessary component for the rigidity of cell walls. That cholesterol should be a factor in heart attack tells us something about the present World—a World that is excessively isolating and rigid, a World in which the processes of the brain have entered into the whole body, requiring additional insulation there. Arterial blockage, over time, makes the heart beat not only harder but louder. The heart continually makes a sonic image; the heart is the only organ that can be continually heard. For three years we have shared the Sunshine; for thousands of days, we have enjoyed friendship. May the past years be beautiful memories in our hearts forever. #RyanPhillippe 15 of 17

A fifty-one-year-old man suffering from severe coronary thrombosis had the following dream. In it he saw people gathered around a big hole in the middle of a green meadow. Everyone stood silently. The dreamer found the silence oppressive. He wondered why no one was talking. He was bothered by the fact that people were not shaking hands nor interacting. Finally, he left in anger, determined never to see them nor that place again. A forty-seven-year-old woman made that point more explicitly three weeks before she died of breast cancer. Everyone, she exclaimed, has “given me up. They have divorced themselves from me. They are even afraid to talk to me. If at least I could say goodbye to them.” #RyanPhillippe 16 of 17

Each of these incidents is representative of our awkwardness in the presence of human death. Part of what presses us to shut out the other person’s experience arises from our own guilt. We are relatively healthy and alive while the other is sick and dying. The contrast hurts everyone! The silences that accompany anxiousness and uncertainty serve to isolate and alienate the living from the dying and the dying from the living. A touching response is destroyed. A distant (inhuman?) response metastasizes. You have gone. At the long time, my heart is like a tree in autumn. Leaves fall down to the ground except the head of the branch. Meeting again is not a beginning and departure is not an end, the good memory of so many years will be kept in my heart forever….I love you for all of eternity. #RyanPhillippe 17 of 17

O’ Riain Meaning Descendant of Rian–Little King

If our dead fathers somewhere and somehow live, why not our unborn sons? For backward or forward, eternity is the same; already have we been the nothing we dread to be. The prophecy that the Duke of Suffolk will meet his death by water turns out to be an equivocation on the forename of his assassin, Walter Whitmore. When it presents real characters and events, usually changes their names in the interest of discretion. When Hamlet presents a dramatization of his father’s murder, he calls the victim Gonzago and implies that any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, is purely coincidental. In comedy, which thrives upon confusion, to mistake a person is to get his name wrong. Mistaken identity can be tragic as well as comic. There is no grimmer scene in Julius Caesar than the one in which a certain Cinna—an innocent man, in fact a poet—is confused with Cinna the conspirator and found guilty by nominal association. This was the first and strongest factor. It included very heavy emphasis on the perspectives of failure, loneliness, punishment, and pain in that order. It also included heavy emphasis on death as unknown. The combinations of individual failure, interpersonal loss, and painful demise add up to the experience of dying and the fact of death as being tragic. “I am Cinna the poet,” he plaintively cries, but it makes no difference to the angry plebeians. “Tear him for his bad verses,” then they shout, and hustle him away to his death. What is in a name indeed! It can operate as a disguise, when a character is engaged in eluding identification, such as Cesario, Bellario, or Sebastian. It can thereby show a sense of decorum, as with Florizel, the flowery prince of The Winter’s Tale, who is addressed as Doricles in the pastoral episodes. Again it can show a sense of humor, as with Feste, the festive clown of Twelfth Night, whose mock-priest is addressed as Sir Topas, presumably after the mock-knight of Chaucer.

Death! Must I be not, and million be? Must I go, and the flowers still bloom? Names, then, are matters of personal taste to which reactions can vary. There was no thought of pleasing you. On that night in the orchard, at any rate, before the lovers are overtaken by the swift fatalities they have challenged—is a nominalist. This is to say, I believe in the immediacy of experience and the uniqueness of individuals rather than in the classes, categories. Death with Confidence—this was the second strongest factor. It included very heavy emphasis on frequency of church attendance and the perspective of an afterlife of reward. It also has included some emphasis upon the perspective of death as unknown, with a slight indication of women holding this combination more than men. The combination of institutional religious involvement and individual religious expectation suggests a confidence in the present that is anchored in eternity. Death as inevitable—this is the third factor produced a very heavy and virtually exclusive emphasis upon the variable of age. There was a slight negative correlation with the perspective of forsaking dependents. The more antiquated the person, the less death was likely to be seen as abandoning children. Death comes to most eventually. After Giacomo Migliavacca’s death, his son James, became a director of the Bank of Italy, later the Bank of America. Another son, Laurence, took over the family winery. With the death of the Angelina in 1921, last member of the immediate family, the once proud mansion sank into a genteel decline standing empty. The second and third floors were divided into small sleeping rooms to house Mare Island employees. Among them was Anna Wurz and her family who complained often to Jess Doud, now executive director of the Napa County Historical Society, that the house was haunted.

Night after night, the Wurz family, occupying the top floor—formerly the ballroom—was awakened by the sound of footsteps approaching them on their stairs. Opening the door, they were confronted by darkness. There were other sounds too: laughter and old-fashioned music. The Wurz family wanted nothing more than to leave, but housing was in short supply during the war. Death with courage is the final factor and showed a fairly strong emphasis upon the perspective of death with courage and the variable achievement. The perspective of death as a natural end also appeared with some emphasis in this factor. The courageous quality may be secular, humanistic, or religious, I am inclined to believe, but represents a focus on meeting the experience and the fact in contrast to the more confident focus on the beyond. When the World conflict ended, the house stood empty. There were other owners, but no one ever remained long. Many fine Victorians have endured similar cliffhangers in recent years only to quietly give up the ghost. However, the Mgiliavacca house is not just another Victorian. Not only is it an integral part of the Napa Valley’s living legend, but it possesses a spirit that stubbornly refuses to vacate the premises—despite the fact that the building itself has been moved twice. This reveals the complexity of death as a symbol. It has multifaceted meanings. Death sharpens the tension between there is still time and there is no more time, that is, the cutting off of possibilities, lost opportunities, unfulfilled experiences, the loss of power to participate in one’s own destiny. It discloses the personal and subjective element behind the objective reality and event.

Death is inevitable. Death can be tragic. Death can be met with confidence anchored in a serene beyond and a certain present. Death can be met with courage anchored in a substantial past and a heroic present. In 1833 Giacomo Migliavacca was born in Italy. Then they moved to the United States of America, when he was a boy, he settled in Napa, opening a small grocery store in 1867. Soon the store was known for its fine wine selection and before long Giacomo Migliavacca was creating his own varieties. What began as a bathtub venture grew and prospered, and in 1880 land was purchased and a winery constructed. Giacomo, his wife, Marie, and their children—eventually numbering thirteen—lived upstairs. In 1895, work began on their impressive Queen Anne mansion, a lighter, airier design which developed as an alternative to the starker, more Gothic lines of the classic English Victorian. Constructed of the finest materials available, the house reflected essential Queen Anne elements—rounded tower, steep gabled roof and varied textures—at their loveliest. The upper two stories were imported Italian slate shingles over redwood sheeting and the prominent corner turret had a slate roof and curved windows. Stained glass windows were another prominent feature. The first floor consisted of a front parlor, sitting room and reception hall complete with a coachman’s corner, where visitor’s coachmen awaited their employers. An oak staircase led to the second floor with its center hallway, five bedrooms and full Victorian bath. The third floor was designed as a grand ballroom. All trim was hand carved, with the exception of the hand carved oak reception area. The details and quality of materials make modern architectural duplication desirable, but virtually impossible.

The house became an easy mark because of its isolated riverside location. In 1970, the property was purchased by Napa County for a mere $20,400.00. Benicia did not want a potential fire trap—least of all one with a ghost. Vandals and looters working with Napa County used chain saws to remove the staircase and light fixtures. Many preservationists questioned whether a professional demolition job was not preferable to a low, torturous death. Jackals of the were literally tearing the house to pieces, and demolition was scheduled, but bureaucratic roadblocks shattered that evil plan. In 1975, Tom Connell purchased the house and relocated it to another lot close to its original location. Full of confidence, Tom Connell predicted that the mansion would be fully restored within six months. In reality, the project took three years. Often work ground to a total stop, the building standing forlornly, smothered by scaffolding, interior was gutted. However, Tom Connell’s perseverance paid off. Today the Magiliavacca Mansion is again a showplace and has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Once more, the building radiates Victorian splendor—through the top floor is no longer used as a ballroom, nor do coachmen wait in the front hallway. Divided into seven offices, the mansion now houses a myriad interests. Laughter is anything but eerie, cheerful voices echo through the halls, brisk footsteps are heard, but at night….well no one ever really lies to work too late….(The Migliavacca Mansion 1475 Fourth Street, Napa.) Despite the current notoriety of the topic, people still anxiously avoid facing death.

Don’t Tell Him Dude is Dying–Death is a Debt that Every Man Owes

Death is the father is all life and beauty. While most people fear the process of aging with its projected fear of indignity, it is the process of dying with its projected years of extreme dependency and excruciating pain that looms as the final obstacle to meaningful living. For those who have seriously avoided facing life, facing death comes as a cruel execution. For those who have found a sense of self and integrity with who one is and what one has done, facing death comes as a calm experience to be met and mastered as have previous experiences. I have no terror of death. It is the coming of death that terrifies me. Regardless of the contrast between those who flee from life and those who face life, dying is not a casual experience nor is death an ordinary event. Drying confronts us with the issue of the means of living—maintaining a sense of dignity. Death faces us with the issue of the meaning of life—finding purpose in the presence of the unknown. Both confront us with intensification of human pain. Let us endeavor to live that when we come to die even the undertaker will be sorry.

How hard is it that we have to die—a strange complaint to come from the mouths of people who have had to live. In the midst of our everyday routine, this intensification can easily be ignored. This morning my heart was beating so fast, I thought it was a muscle spasm. I said to myself, I hope I am not about to have a heart attack and stayed in bed and closed my eyes until it slowed down again, then thanked God. Every day, I am so thankful to wake up because death’s monstrous wins seem to wheel in the laden air around me. This experience is a reminder that no one, at any time, can avoid that fact of death, and that most of us, at some time, will experience the process of dying. What is it like How does it feel? What fears, needs, fantasies do you have? What kind of things are we doing that are helpful? What kinds of things do we do that are detrimental? No matter where it comes or how it comes, death is everyone’s burden. One minute a person is alive, they next they are dead. All dying is not the same. Dying can be sudden and unexpected. A plane crashed. A car goes out of control. A sniper’s bullet finds its mark. A split second covers the transition from being alive to being dead. Ask no questions that may lead to deceitful answers.

Pity is for the living; envy is for the dead. Death can be anxiously anticipated and desperately fought. A soldier is ordered into battle. A patient is informed of the presence of a malignant and untreatable cancer. Ah, if he could only die temporarily! An intensely constricted span of time bridges the transition from being alive to being dead. Did we sit down to number the calamities of this World, we should change one idea of evil, and learn to look at death as a friend. It seems like there is a lot of evil in this World, and there is no reason for it. Sometimes, however, death can be slow and drawn out. A patient with a degenerative disease attends to every little sign of the progressive loss of life. Antiquated age eats away at the vital forces until one remains but a pale and fragile caricature of what one had been. A spaced-out wasteland connects the fertileness of being alive with the aridness of being dead. Death finally arrives as a relief from the relentless erosion of that which matters. No great mistake, whether acted or endured, in our mortal sphere, is ever really set right. Time, the continual vicissitude of circumstances, and the invariable inopportunity of death, render it impossible.

There is much to be learned from the dead, more than you may learn from the living. Just as all dying is not the same, so all death is not the same. Differences among the former are reciprocal to contrasts among the latter. When dying is sudden, death is tragic. When dying is excruciating, death is relief. When dying is quiet, death is consummation. I have long been in the tomb of my youth. And more has died out of me, already, than remains for the last death to finish. Is a life of dying worth living o’er again? There are a few who have died—technically—and returned to live another period.

Are We Ugly or Lovely? Can We Give and Receive Love Even to our Life’s End?

No bond unites congenial hearts more firmly than that of a common great aim. It is more useful to go through life with common sense than with all the taste in the World. If you meet each development of every question in the most natural and reasonable manner—presupposing that you possess that highest attribute of civilization, common sense—no question will ever resolve itself into a problem. And difficulties usually disappear as the range of vision contracts. We require a spiritual vision that values and includes the central playing-field where our humanity expresses itself—relationship. #RyanPhillippe 1 of 8

The heart is the organ of imagination. Let us always have men ready to give the loving pains of a life to the faithful in representing of commonplace things—men who see beauty in these commonplace things, and delight in showing how kindly the light of Heaven falls on them. Know that what appears to be love for an ‘other’ is really love of Self [unconditioned, impersonal being] because ‘other’ does not exist. All love is love of Self. We are one. Love does indeed come from beyond us, from pure being, from the absolute source that shines through us and those we love. #RyanPhillippe 2 of 8

Valuing the human domain per se, with its possibilities for creative expression, relational intimacy, and passionate aliveness, has been a major emphasis in America. To fully inhabit the human realm is to live in dialogue. Dialogue is something much more profound than mere verbal exchange. Its essential characteristic is meeting and honoring the otherness of the other—as sanctified (blessed) other—which allows a mutual alchemy to take place. There are times when we must act as though life were equally sweet in any company. Keeping witty company sharpeneth the apprehension. #RyanPhillippe 3 of 8

The basic movement of the life of dialogue is the turning toward the other…accepting with one’s essential being another person in his particularity. Dialogue also means our communication with God. Every person born into this World represents something new, something that never existed before, something original and unique. It is the duty of every person…to know and consider…that there has never been anyone like him in the World, for if there had been someone like him, there would have been no requirement for him to be in the World. #RyanPhillippe 4 of 8

Every single person is a new thing in the World, and is called upon to fulfill their particularity in this World. Every person’s foremost task is the actualization of their unique, unprecedented and never-recurring potentialities, and not the repetition of something that another, be it even the greatest, has already achieved. I am me, this is my personality that has this set of traits, these preferences, this history. To be yourself means to find the deepest laws of your being, to let your life find and carve out its true path, and to bring forth your innate gifts and qualities in time, through your interchange with life in all aspects. #RyanPhillippe 5 of 8

I have to appreciate myself as a being-in-process, continually uncovering my true gifts and embodying them in the flowing current of time, relatedness, and action. This is how we discover our true person. Only when I am my true self can I be intimate, and relate in an intimate way to other people and to life itself. So to be fully engaged in relationship, we have to step into and inhabit our human form—the person. To handle the fear of loss, we have to look at what purpose the external person or object serves in our life. What emotional requirement is being fulfilled? What emotions would arise were we to lose the object or the person? #RyanPhillippe 6 of 8

Love, companionship, devotion, amusement, and diversion can be acknowledged in our relationships with the people or objects in our lives. We feel that what has become important or comforting to us is permanent attachment. Loving and living go together. We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love each other. Anyone who does not love remains in death. Anyone who hates a brother or sister is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life residing in them. When one is not lovable and loving, them one experiences a living death. So the pain of lonely unlovableness haunts us as the most excruciating pain of all and the warmth of a caring love heals most human pain. #RyanPhillippe 7 of 8

My son was bedridden, and felt like he was dying, after hurting his back. A demanding person, he always complained about never getting enough of anything. Consequently, I confess, I used to want to spank him during our visits. One particular day, after we had read some Scripture and prayed together, I rose to go to work. Only this time he seemed to me a different person. His face looked serene and handsome. On impulse, I bent over and kissed him on the cheek. He startled—and humbled—me with his response. He said: Why um (I am) not ugly after all. Um (I am) not ugly after all. And I thought to myself, perhaps that is what human pain is all about. Are we ugly or lovely? Can we give and receive love even to our life’s end? Words are wind; but deeds are mind. #RyanPhillippe 8 of 8

A Burnt Child Loves the Fire

I tried by gentleness and love to soften marble, but nothing fatigues the body so much as weariness of spirit. Day after day, and almost every day, one meets censure which is felt to be unjust; —but the general result of all this injustice is increased efficiency. Behold, all who are incensed against you shall be put to shame and confounded; those who strive against you shall be as nothing and shall perish, for sloth and greed are ill mated. Lovers of money must sweat and steal. Time and accident develop the darkest schemes. Parents who work with those who threaten their children will be ravished by the World. A bad heart, and a bad cause, are confounding things. The mind, or thought, when not in healthy connection with the soul body rests comfortably in the illusion of knowing. The mind caught by this illusion is unwilling to learn, unwilling to be penetrated by what it does not already think that is understands. #RandolphNews1 (1 of 12)

There is nothing like a little journey together to make people understand each other. Some might ask why would a parent knowingly work with people who want to harm their offspring? The mind of this type of person is like a censor or a gatekeeper, keeping learning from happening. One lets through only those aspects of the World that are familiar. Often one works with the enemies of their children brilliantly, and is least able to learn, but appears the most capable and does the best within the system. The parent suffers from a superiority complex of learning, a pathology of learning that keeps the soul away through cleverness. Burnout results from one’s affiliations, and it is a symptom that indicates that one’s heart has been misplaced, that it has no body. When one labors like brutes, one’s hearts becomes like theirs, till to eat and have rest becomes all their ambition. #RandolphNews1 (2 of 12)

A burnt child loves the fire. Caution against sin, even to the innocent, can never be unwholesome. There are few instances in which a series of successful iniquity does not create arrogance and security. However, I have always observed that when people are interrupted in the performance of some egregious stupidity their feelings are hurt. Arrogance will produce submission. The only way to civilize a people is to form in them habits of industry. Every effect is but the cause of another and a subsequent one. In youth, it is love, or lust, makes the World mad: in age, prejudice. Superstition holds a province; pride an empire. Some suspect that people who have mixed race children may hold some prejudice in their hearts towards these kids and that is why they feel it is okay to risk their lives for profits. Conversely, the children, in the same family, who are the same ethnic background are treated as superiors. #RandolphNews1 (3 of 12)

It is almost like the mixed race individual is seen as deserving all of the pain and anguish the parent has experienced because of their experiences with racism, and it is almost like you are half (half worthless), so you are not a fully human being and deserve no rights, no love, and no happiness. However, they who provoke huge battles (of the heart or mind), and gain but lame victories over themselves, insensibly harden to the habit of distilling sour thoughts from their mischances and form most occurrences. So does the World they combat win on them. There is no such thing as accident. There is a cause for every disaster: too much cargo, want of foresight, want of pluck. However, even if your parents treat you worse than a stray dog and do not respect you or your life, know that under their prejudice mind set, they love you, it is just hard for them to show. Understand that you are beautiful and keep being a good person. With the letting go of the pain of dejection and the anger that results, you will feel relief from the headache. #RanolphNews1 (4 of 12)

Trust me, I understand your pain. You are all alone in the World and although your family does you wrong and it may not be safe for you to be around them, you are attached to them. And even when you think about all the evil things they have done to hurt you, you reflect on the past, when you were young, and they loved you because you were a child, and said nice things to you, this may bring tears to your eyes and make you feel really bad. See, when a friend does you wrong, you can cut them off, it may hurt, but there is nothing like being betrayed by your family because of your heritage. However, at the same time, they accept drug dealers, murderers, prostitutes, criminals, and defend the corrupt. The psychological basis of all your pain may feel like you are mourning and this is because your attachment to your family. #RandolphNews1 (5 of 12)

You may feel like, I wish my family loved and supported me, I have no friends, no boyfriend, no girlfriend, no pets, it is just me. If you slip up and cannot pay your bills, where will you go, who can you call? People like this tend to focus on their careers and try to build wealth so they can at least have money as a safety net, but sometimes even financial opportunities are hard to come by because of media rumors and slander. And sometimes people know your circumstances and may exploit you. You need extra money and work 12 hours and make $60, in one dollar bills and change. Someone else asks you to work with them because they need you or they may not make it, after a year of giving nothing back and partying with various people and taking vacations, you find they have not offered you a dime, a gift, nor even said, “Thank you,” because they have seen others exploit you in the same manner, while trying to build your career—family is not always your true friend. #RandolphNews1 (6 of 12)

This may just be a test from God and everything runs its course, one day you will be rewarded, but hang in there and hold the faith. Keep trying to succeed. People are exploited by corporations, family, and friends all the time. While you have not started out yet and do not have much, but are thankful for what you have been blessed with, others have lost millions of dollars, houses, cars, and even their lives behind the wrong attachments. Attachment and dependence occur because we feel incomplete within ourselves; therefore, we seek objects, people, relationships, places, and concepts to fulfill inner requirements. Loss of our family and friends, because of their alliances, is like a loss of our own self. The more emotional energy invested in an object or person, the greater will be the feeling of loss and the greater the pain associated with the undoing of the bonds of the dependence. #RandolphNews (7 of 12)

Attachment creates dependency, even if you just want to be loved, you are dependent on feeling that emotion. And after wanting to cut a person off because you see they are no good, but they beg you for help, the longer you are there for you, the stronger your bond becomes. And they know that. That type of behavior is really disrespectful and manipulative. Whenever a person attempts to manipulate or control the environment for self-defeating and/or disruptive purposes, he or she may complain constantly about bodily difficulties or the regular routine. The pattern is deigned to elicit sympathy on the one hand and to get out from under responsibility for his or her behavior on the other. Without being diverted by arguments and complaints, they are able to keep control over your decisions and directions. #RandolphNews1 ( 8 of 12)

Manipulative people are significantly different than a kind heart. Their attitudes are hard to understand. However, there is some benefit to being manipulated and pushed beyond your limits. Not only are the people who are abusing you and exploiting you exposing themselves to the World, and your work make have gotten them accepted in their social circles, once word gets out of how they are doing you, they will lose favor. One of the biggest things people fear is being financially betrayed or used, and no one is going to want to hire, work with, or even being in a relationship with someone who knowingly exploits others, especially their own family—it just says you are not a quality person, not someone to be trusted. No one wants their bank account, body, heart, house, nor brains broken. They see your pain and do not want to go through it or be associated with the perpetrators. #RandolphNews1 ( 9 of 12)

You may have praised these people and encouraged those who are exploiting you, but to honor a person in such a condition only makes him or her feel worse, and that is why the nicer you become, the more abusive they become. However, them using you is to your benefit because while you feel they tricked you into working at a menial, monotonous, and unsatisfying take, they neither encourage nor praise you. They make it known all that matters is the job being done. One keeps you involved in the deadly drudgery without sympathy, and they may even punish you. Such a person is hostile and threatening, attempting to frighten others away from you by their vehemence of reaction. A power struggle, either verbal or physical, is to be avoided. To reason with the person is an unreasonable rage and only aggravates the situation. Their main goal is to protect themselves. #RandolphNews1 ( 10 of 12)

While the person you tried to help may be doing better in their careers, they are actually worse off because people feel less able to cope with them and more undermined and discouraged when working with that individual because you created a false image of them, one that was true for you, but may not actually be the person they are. You may see their potential, not the reality. These people have to want to change their attitudes and personal behaviors. It is a life-style of independence and outrage that they subscribe to. Old age brings more than its share of rage, frustration at the indignities and infirmities of the senile process. It behooves these people to remember the root of anger underneath the upset of the people in later maturity. They feel it is their right to rage against others and dish out their pain that has been directed towards them and you are an easy target as no one protects your civil rights. #RandolphNews1 (11 of 12)

These perpetrators are mobilizing the resources of a lifetime of experiences to fight against those things that diminish and oppress us all, and you may represent that in their eyes because of your heritage, bloodline, or name. Eventually your anger and betrayal that is turned inwards, will reverse—against the situation, against the task maker, against the injustice. One you “blow up” and “go off,” the depression lifts and more normal interaction occurs. God might just use the people who are nearest to death to point to a new life. We just have to accept this is our life, change the type of people we attract, feel worthy of allowing someone to help you, you do not always have to be a helper, and accept that this is not permanent. Romantic relationships are not life-long, families break up, and one day your dog will go to Heaven. #RandolphNews1 (12 of 12)

Rode Hard and Put Away Wet—Betrayal Trauma Theory

Man is false to himself and betrays his own succors ten times where nature does it once. We often admire the folly of the dupe, when we should transfer our whole surprise to the astonishing guilt of the betrayer. Betrayals are an aspect of a few intimate relationships. They range from people flirting with the coworkers, one-night stands after a Halloween party, to having an affair, and in some cases, people work with others who are trying to harm their spouse, know about, says nothing, and keeps acting like nothing is wrong. If you have ever been with someone who hurt your feelings and betrayed your trust over and over, and never did anything to make up with it, you know how the agony of feeling hard done-by and castoff.

The unfortunate have claims upon the hearts of those whom God has blessed with affluence. When someone treats you like you are disposable and expects you to stick by their side and still help them, it can really leave you feeling shattered because you are reminded of all the times they have hurt you. Your sense of abandonment, pain, helplessness, longing, irretrievable loss, and heartbrokenness can lead you to declare the relationship to be over. Even after the cheater is gone, you heart will hurt, but you rather it this be the last time this person hurts you. Especially if every other week, over the past you, they keep doing things to hurt you deeply. The greater the degree of trauma you experience, the more likely you are to experience physical and mental issues or premature death.

Sometimes people stick in unhealthy relationships because they believe the person will change or that they are unlovable. We feel like we have wasted all these years, and it is a feeling of sadness and loss. There is a crying for someone to help because we cannot do anything about it, and feel like maybe someone else can help be a source of support and encourage us to keep going. There is much pain in my life, the untold tragedies of life! All of the disappointments and crushed hopes. And then to not be able to talk it out and find out why they hurt you, keep working with your enemies, but want your support makes it worse. Like, why would someone sign a contract that says they cannot speak to you and expect you to keep supporting them?

Many questions will never be answered and clearly someone loves money and status more than they love you, not to mention, by doing the right thing your spouse could have made much more money than this one season fly by night job they picked up. With the courage to face our inner feelings and let them go, we thus can move on to accepting the relationship is over and eventually find peace. When we let go of a bad relationship, our friends and family will notice a change in our facial expression and demeanor. And I know you love this person and think they are the only person in the World for you, but if you are not a priority in their life, then let them go so God can bless you with true love.

When we hold on to the past and keep experiencing pain, it will create a vortex and attract more pain to us. Not only that, but the person you are involved with has hurt you many times, and pushed you to the limits, who knows what they will do next and if you can take it? Suicide sneaks up on people. Have the courage to let go. Emotional pain is usually time-limited. This should make you want to end that relationship so you can recover. Love is supposed to feel good, not be like a gaping wound and when you wake up in the morning the first thing on your mind is my spouse out cheating on me right now? Also, if you are not having sex, you know they are participating in debauchery with someone. The average adult has sex twice a week and that is what hurts a person most, when their spouse has se with another person. Knowing their body, fluids, and bacteria been all over the person you love.

If we allow ourselves to feel the pain, and do not resist the feeling and totally surrender to it, it will run out. We just have to allow ourselves to experience it fully. Also, maybe this is God’s way of telling you this is not the right person for you and that he has someone better, who will care about you how you want, waiting for you. Sometimes you may just need to stay at the house and turn the music on and have a good cry alone. As for me, I am not crying, my heart hurts, I am tired and ready to let go. If a person is doing nothing to try and keep you in their lives, but keeps begging for help, let it go. They will take you down. If we resist the pain, then it will go on. Emotional abuse can go on for years. When I thought there was so little, I cried to find so much goodness in the World.

Make Sure those Babies have something to Drink this Summer!

Babies are such a joy and a blessing. They are just so cute and delicate and charming. Listening to them laugh, sing, talk, and watching them learn to walk is a joy every parent should experience. As you spend more time in the adult World, one learns to appreciate babies more because they are so innocent, pure, and do not want anything, but your love, attention, protection, food and water. Water is especially important to remember as temperature increase. Many people are aware to remove babies from the back seat of the car, but perhaps some are not sure or even forget to hydrate the cute little darlings when you are pushing them in their stroller or taking them for a walk. #RandolphHarris 1 of 2

Children do not always know when they are thirsty because they are so young and more prone to dehydration than adults. Furthermore, newborn babies cannot regulate their body temperature, so they get overheated easily. Babies under six months usually get all the hydration they require from formula, so check with your pediatrician about giving them water. It is recommended that if they are thirsty to give them formula. As for kids over six months, make sure they have access to water and encourage them to take a water break after an hour of playing outside. Likewise, make sure to check on your child in the stroller to see if he or she requires hydration. #RandolphHarris 2 of 2
