Pray for the Gift of Tears—Repentance is a Gift of God
Examine yourself to see if you have forgotten how to be truly repentant. One of my negative traits is that I am too curious. However, it does not help to pretend to be a different person to get people to like you. Your partner and psychologist will find out easily. Just be yourself and be relaxed. Walk by faith and not by sight, and do not think about the outcome in life, but do your best to live an honest and peaceful life. This will reduce your stress level. As you know, God is the perfection of human beings. In loving God as our supreme value, we are really loving ourselves. As our consciousness rises, due to the letting go of negativity, this energy tends to rise to higher centers so that, at the level of love, the energy liberates our soul, and the energy counterbalances the negativity of the personality. In loving God, we are really loving ourselves and it leaves unexplained certain facets of one’s complex love life. However, when we have an affection for what is to our advantage (affectio commodi), which corresponds to the drive for the welfare of the self, it inclines one to seek one’s perfection and happiness in all that one does. #RandolphHarris 1 of 5
If this tendency to seek our own perfection and happiness alone were operative, we would love God only because he is our greatest good, and man’s perfect self (albeit perfected by union with God in knowledge and love) would be the supreme object of one’s affection; it would be that which all else is loved for its own sake and for the sake of which all else is loved. Nevertheless, there is a second and more noble tendency in the will, an inclination or affection for justice (affection justitiae), so called because it inclines one to do justice to the objective goodness, the intrinsic value of a thing regardless of whether it happens to be a good for oneself or not. There are several distinguishing features of this affection for justice. It inclines one to love a thing primarily for its own sake (its absolute worth) rather than for what it does or can do for one (its relative value). Hence, it leads one to love God in oneself as the most perfect and adorable objects, irrespective of the fact that God happens to love us in return or that such a love for God produces supreme delight or happiness in a human as its concomitant effect. #RandolphHarris 2 of 5
We will have moments of profound peace where the time and the World will seem to suddenly stop, and we have come in contact with the Infinite. It enables one to love one’s neighbor literally as oneself (where each individual is of equal objective value). Finally, this love is not jealous of the beloved but seeks to make the beloved loved and appreciated by others. Whoever loves perfectly, desires co-lovers for the beloved. Recall the tendency to make others admire the beautiful or the sorrow felt when something perfectly lovely is unloved, desecrated, or destroyed. If the affectio commodi tends to utter selfishness as a limiting case, the first checkrein on its headlong self-seeking s the affectio justitiae. This affection for what is just is the first tempering influence on the affection for what is to our advantage. And inasmuch as our will need not actually seek that towards which the latter affection inclines us, nor need we seek it above all else, this affection for what is just, I say, is that liberty which is native or innate in the will, since it provides the first tempering influence on our affection for what is to our own advantage. #RandolphHarris 3 of 5
The will’s basic liberty, in short, is that which frees it from the necessity of nature, the need to seeks its own perfection and fulfillment above all else. Here is the factor needed to account for the generous and genuinely altruistic features of human love inexplicable in terms of the physicalist theory. There is a difference between the will with respects to its natural inclinations and the will as free. The former is the will considered as the seat of the affection for the advantageous. It views everything as something delightful, useful, or a good for oneself and leads to the love of desire (velle concupiscentiae). As free or rational (in accord with right reason), the will is the seat of the affection for justice that inclines us to love each thing honestly or as a bonum honestum, that is, for what it is in itself and hence for its own sake. Since only such love recognizes the supreme value and dignity of a person and finds its highest and most characteristic expression when directed toward another, it is usually called the love of friendship (velle amicitiae) or of wishing one well (amor benevolentiae). #RandolphHarris 4 of 5
When we stop loving, a great anxiety comes. That anxiety is perhaps is beauty drained from the World, converted into subjective energy. When we stop loving, there is a sense of death, the sense that nothing is happening. It is the will of God that human beings should get into a right-standing relationship with Him, and His covenants are designed for this purpose. When I really transacted business with God on the basis of His covenant, there is no sense of personal achievement—no human ingredient at all. Instead, there is a complete overwhelming sense of being brought into union with God, and my life is transformed. With continual surrender, we begin to experience these states of peace with ever-increasing frequency. At times, they may become quite profound and of greater and greater duration. When the clouds are removed, the Sun shines forth and we discover that peace was the truth along. Surrender is the mechanism that uncovers the true nature of our existence. Repentance is a gift from God. If you ever cease to understand the value of repentance, you allow yourself to remain in sin. #RandolphHarris 5 of 5

Natural Inclination and the Will is Free—just be Careful what you Will
We learn in the retreating how vast an one was recently among us. A perished Sun endears in the departure how doubly more than all the golden presence it was before. They say that time assuages—time never did assuage; an actual suffering strengthens, as sinews do, with age. Time is a test of trouble, but not a remedy. If such it proves, it proves too there was no malady. Some philosophers believe that in the afterlife humans by their native powers will be able to intuit any created thing, be it material or spiritual, and to that extent human’s mind is at present limited to human’s lapsed state that their mind is at present limited to knowing the intelligible features of sense data but also because of the natural harmony of body and mind that would obtain even in a purely natural state. Although the mechanics of the process are not fully clear, two mental images or species are involved, one derived from creatures, the other imparted by divine illumination from above. #RandolphHarris 1 of 11
Since both the human mind and the sensible object are subject to change, no species or likeness taken from the sensible object and impressed upon the mind will yield invariant truth. Something must needs be added from above. God could give matter existence apart from all form, either accidental or substantial. In such a case, matter would exist much like a pure spirit or the human soul. Primary matter of the Sun and planetary spheres is not any different from that form in question may be superior to that of terrestrial elements and compounds. From human’s ability to think or reason, the intellective soul is the substantial form that makes human beings precisely human. However, to the extent that reason can prove the soul to be the form of the body, it becomes correspondingly more difficult to demonstrate that the soul will survive death of the body. While the traditional arguments for immortality have probabilistic value, only faith can make certain this truth. #RandolphHarris 2 of 11
Even sensory perception can be analyzed critically to exclude any reasonable doubt. Conflicting sense reports produce such illusions as the stick immersed in water that feels straight yet appears to be bent. Yet there is always some self-evident principle possessed by our mind that enables us to decide which sense perceptual information is correct. Here it is the proposition any harder object is not broken by something soft that gives way before it. There are many areas of knowledge, then, where human beings are perfectly well equipped to arrive at certitude without any special divine enlightenment. The circles and art of magic, without committing a horrible defection from God, proves these practices, which I call the devil’s rudiments, unknowing them are bait, cast out by him, for trapping such as God will permit to fall in his hands. These kinds of folks, I say, no doubt, are to be judged the best of, in respect they have used no invocation nor help him (by their knowledge at least) in these turns, and so have entered themselves in Satan’s service. #RandolphHarris 3 of 11
Yet, to speak truly for my own part (I speak but for myself) our enemy is extremely crafty, and we are exceptionally weak (except for the greater grace of God) to say such hazards, wherein the devil pleases to trap us. They who commit wicked acts become unto this perfection of evil, in having any knowledge (whether learned or unlearned) of this black art, they then begin to be weary of the raising of their Master, by conjuring circles; being both so difficult and perilous, and so come plainly to a contract with him, wherein is especially contained forms and effects. However, I pray that you go further, discourse with me somewhat of their circles and conjuring; and what should be the cause of their wearing thereof: For it should seem that that form should be the cause of their wearying thereof; For it should seem that that form should be at least fearful yet, then the direct haunting and society, with that foul and unclean spirit. What people are doing by lying, terrorizing, and harassing others is called conjuring the Devil’s school, and the persons of the conjurers; the actions of the conjuration; the word and the rites used to that effect; and the spirits that are conjured are laying the grounds with their power and intent to commit blasphemy of God. #RandolphHarris 4 of 11
The Devil is only the father of all lies and he is making himself to be trusted in these little rituals that the wicked are performing, that he may have the better commodity thereafter, to deceive them in the end with a trickle once for all; I mean the everlasting perdition of their soul and body. These people are attempting to provide the Devil with a living sacrifice and the crafty spirit eludes them with, and once the conjured spirit appears, if they have missed one iota of their rites, he will cause great terror for them. The contract they are making with the Devil is mutual, and when he establishes himself to them, we do not know what shape or form he will present himself in. The quality and shape of that form depends on the skill of their dark arts. Sometimes he establishes himself to appear at their calling upon him, by such a proper name which he shews unto them, either in the likeness of a dog, cat, an ape, or such like other beast; or else to answer by a voice only. The effects of answering to such demands, as concerns curing of diseases, their own particular imagery: or such other base things as they require of him. #RandolphHarris 5 of 11
However, to the most curious sort, in the form the Devil will establish himself, to enter in a dead body, and there out of to give such answers, of events of battles, of matters concerning the estate of commonwealths, and such like the greater questions. Yes, to some he will be a continual attender, in form of a page: He will permit himself to be conjured, for the space of so many years, either in a tablet or a ring, or such like thing, which they may easily carry about with them. The Devil gives them power to seal such wares to others, whereof some will be dearer, and some better cheap; according to the lying or true speaking of the Spirit that is conjured therein. Not but that in very deed, all Devils must be liars; but so they abuse the simplicity of these wretches, that becomes their scholars, that they make them believe, that at the fall of Lucifer, some Spirits fell in the air, some in the fire, some in the water, some in the land in which they elements they still remain. Whereupon they build, that such as fell in the fire, or in the air, are truer than they, who fell in the water or in the land, which is all mere trifles, and forged by the author if all deceit. #RandolphHarris 6 of 11
For the fall not be weight as a solid substance, to stick in any one part, but the principal part of their fall, consisting in quality, by the falling from the grace of God wherein they were created, they continued still thereafter, and shall do while the latter die, in wandering through the World, as God’s hang men, to execute such turns as he employs in them. And when any of them are not occupied in that, return they must to their prison in Hell (as it is plainly in the miracle of Christ) therein at the later day to be all enclosed forever and as they deceive their scholars in this, so do they imprint in them the opinion that there so many princes, dukes, and kings among them, everyone commanding fewer or more legions, and implying in diverse arts, and quarters of the Earth. For thought that I will not deny that there be a a form of order among the Angels in Heaven, consequently, was among them before their fall; yet, either that he broke the same sense; or that God will permit us to know by damned Devils, such as Heavenly mysteries of his, which he would not reveal to us neither by Scriptures no Prophets, I think no Christian will once think it. #RandolphHarris 7 of 11
However, by the contrary of all such mysteries contended with a humble ignorance, they being thins not necessary for our salvation. Yet, to return to the purpose, as these forms, wherein Satan establishes himself to the greatest of the Magicians, are wonderful curious, so are the effects correspondent unto the same. For he will establish himself to teach them arts and sciences, which he may easily do, being so learned a knave as he is to carry them news from any part of the World, which the agility of a Spirit may easily perform to reveal to them the secrets of any persons, so being they be once spoken, for the thought none knows but GOD; except as far as you may guess by their countenance, as one who is doubtless learned enough in the physiognomy; yes, he will make his scholars to creep in credit with princes, by fore-telling them many great things, part false and part true, for if it were all false, he would try and credit at all hand; but always doubt some, as his Oracles were. And he will also make them please princes, by fair banquets and dainty dishes, carried in short space from the farthest part of the World. For no one doubts but he is a thief, and his agility (as I spoke before) makes him come to such speed. #RandolphHarris 8 of 11
Such like, Satan will guard his scholars with fare armies of horse-men and foot-men in appearance, castles, mansions, houses, and apartments, which all are but impressions in the air, easily gathered by a spirit, drawing so near to that substance himself, as in like manner he will learn many juggleries tricks at cards, dice, and such like, to deceive people of their sense thereby and such innumerable false practices, which are proven by over many in this age. And yet are all these things, but deluding of the senses, and ways true in substance, as were the false miracles wrought by criminals for counterfeiting. For that is the difference betwixt God’s miracles and the Devil’s, God is a creator, what he makes appears in miracles, it is so effect. However, the Devil lies and hunts to destroy all people who partake in his ways. And when making a contract with the Devil, concerning the form of making this contract, which is either written with the Magicians own blood, or else being agreed upon (in terms one’s school master) touches one in some part, thought peradventure no mark remain, as it does will all Witches. The art of the Devil is monstrous and detestable. However, what I pray you shall recognize how evil the Devil’s art is. #RandolphHarris 9 of 11
The will is not simply an intellective appetite, motor power or drive guided by intelligence rather than mere sense perception. Freedom of will, in other words, is not a simple logical consequence of intelligence, but is unique among the agencies found in nature. All other active powers or potentializes are determined by their nature not only to act but to act in a specific way unless impeded by internal or external causes. However, even when all the intrinsic or extrinsic conditions necessary for its operation are present, the free will need not act. Not only may it refrain from acting at all, but it may act now one way, now another. The will has a twofold positive response toward a concrete thing or situation. It can love or seek what is good, or it can hate or shun what is evil. Moreover, it has an inborn inclination to do so. However, unlike the sense appetites, the will need not follow its inclination. Human beings are free only if one sees some measure of imperfection or evil in a good object and that the will is necessitated by its end (the good as such), though it is free to choose between several means of attaining it. #RandolphHarris 10 of 11
All striving, all activity stems from an imperfection in the agent, whose actions all tend to perfect or complete its nature. Physis or nature means literally what a thing is born to be or become. Since what perfects a thing is good, and since striving for what is good is a form of love, we could say that all activity is sparked by love. The peculiarity of such love, however, is that it can never be truly altruistic or even objective. It is radically self-centered in the sense that nature seeks primarily and above all else its own welfare. If at times we find what appears to be altruistic behavior, it is always a case where the nature or species is favored at the cost of the individual. However, nature, either in its individual concretization or as self-perpetuating species, must necessity and in all it does seek its own perfection. This is its supreme values, and the ultimate goal of its loves. Such a theory presents a dual difficulty for a Christian. How can one maintain that God is love (1 John 4.16) and how can humans love God above all things if self-perfection is one’s supreme values? God is the perfection of human beings. In loving God as one’s supreme value, humans are really loving themselves. Love of friendship becomes possible to the extent that one loves another as an other self. #RandolphHarris 11 of 11

The Opposition of the Natural
This World is not conclusion; a sequel stands beyond, invisible, as music, but optimistic, as sounds, it beckons and it baffles; philosophies do not know, and through a riddle, at last, sagacity must go. To guess it puzzles scholars; to gain it, people have shown contempt of generations, and crucifixion know. Some philosophers who say such things as time is unreal and who presumably in some sense also believe this, also say things and cannot help saying things which indicate that they also do not believe it. The very philosophers who say that time is unreal nevertheless use clocks, complain when their students are late, plan for the future, and engage in the same activities which the ordinary people regards as presupposing the reality of time. Likewise, the World is full of unbelievers, people deny the existence of God, but a great many of these unbelievers feel a strong urge to worship something or somebody and therefore invent all kinds of surrogate deities. #RandolphHarris 1 of 7
Human’s gods and demons have not disappeared at all; they have merely got new names. Those who do not believe in God or who believe that they do not believe in Him, believe nevertheless in some little pocket of god or even devil of their own. Religious agnosticism is not a psychological fact, but a self-deception it is an essential law that every finite spirit believes either in God or an idol. These idols may vary greatly. So-called unbelievers may treat the state or a woman, man, or art or knowledge or any number of things as if they were God. What needs explanation is not belief in God, which is original and natural, but unbelief or, rather, belief in an idol. The situation is not infrequently compared with the sexual instinct and what we know about the consequences of its suppression. If the sexual instinct does not find natural gratification, it does not cease to be operative but becomes diverted into others and less wholesome channels. The worship of institutions and human deities is said to be a similarly pathological phenomenon. #RandolphHarris 2 of 7
An evaluation of this position, which amounts in effect to an endorsement of the theory of the religious instinct without inferring the existence of God from it, is not possible here because it would involve elaborate discussions of child psychology and the causation of neurosis and alienation. Here we can only observe that in the opinion of many contemporary thinkers there is no reason whatever to suppose that human beings are by nature religious. In their opinion the hunger for God, in its orthodox no less than in its newer substitute expressions, is invariably the result of certain deprivations and traumatic experiences. People who suffer from insufficient contact with other human beings and who do not find the natural World satisfying will tend to experience longings for something supernatural or feel a need to endow human beings with supernatural attributes. Some would go further and maintain that traditional religion, through its life-denying morality and irrational taboos, is itself in no small measure responsible for the existence of the type of personality that displays the hunger for God. #RandolphHarris 3 of 7
People are the measures of all things. At the very least, computers have forced people to reinterpret the meaning of the measurements. Either the yardstick is not so long as we had thought or the things to be measured are growing longer every day. Every social measure ought to be judged in terms of its effects on the poorest and most numerous class. We should seek a moral order with the beneficial religion enjoining everyone to live for others. There is one, and only one, being in which all pure perfection coexists. Such an infinite being we call God. God is treated as the efficient, the final, or the exemplar cause of all creatures. Since God is the fixed locus in which all possibilities coexist, he must be infinite in knowledge, in power, and therefore in his essence or nature. Since contradictions arise if one assumes that more than one such infinite mind, power, or being exist, there can be but one God. Some still maintain that there are innate ideas, impressed upon the soul at birth, which lie dormant in the storehouse of the mins, to be recalled like forgotten memories when people encounter something analogous in sensible experience. The discovery of God in created things is now people recall the transcendent World of idea. #RandolphHarris 4 of 7
People have attained to a great perfection learning, and yet remain overbear of the spirit of regeneration and fruits thereof: finding all naturally things common, as well to the stupid pedants as unto them, they assail to vindicate unto them a greater name, by not only knowing the course of things Heavenly, but likewise to climb to the knowledge of things to come thereby. Which, at first face appearing lawful unto them, in respect the ground thereof seeming to proceed of natural causes only: they are so allured thereby, that finding their practice to prove true in sundry of things, they study to know the cause thereof: and so mounting from degree to degree, upon the slippery and uncertain scale of curiosity; they are at last enticed, that where lawful arts of sciences fails, to satisfy their restless minds, even to seek that black and unlawful science of magic. Where, finding at the first, that such drivers forms of circles and conjurations rightly enjoyed thereunto, will raise such drivers forms of spirits, to resolve them of their doubts: and attributing the doing thereof, to the power inseparable tied, or inherent in the circles: and many words of God, confused wrapped in. #RandolphHarris 5 of 7
By using magic, they sometimes blindly glorify themselves, as if they and by their quickness of engine, made a conquest of Pluto’s dominion, and were become Emperors over Egyptian rituals. Where, in the mean times (miserable wretches) they are becoming very dead, bonded-slaves to their mortal enemy: and their knowledge, for all that they presume thereof, is nothing increased, except in knowing evil, and the horrors of Hell for punishment thereof, as Adam’s by the eating of the forbidden tree. However, I pray you likewise forget not to tell what are the Devil’s rudiments. His rudiments, I call first in general, all that which is called vulgarly the virtue of words, herbs, and stone: which is used by unlawful charms, without natural causes. As likewise, all kind of practices, fetishes, or other like extraordinary actions, which cannot abide the true touch of natural reason. It is unlawful, being mortal to for tale what is to come, what person shall be fortunate or unfortunate, what side shall win in any battle, what person should obtain victories at a singular combat, what way and of what age shall a person die. #RandolphHarris 6 of 7
Instead, this individuating difference is known to God and can only be known to humans in a future life, where one’s intellect is not so dependent upon sense perception. Before creatures are produced, they pre-exist in God’s min as archetypal ideas. Since possible creatures are written into the divine nature itself, in knowing the creature God gives it intelligibility and existence as an object of thought. Like the creative painter or sculptor who produces an idea of his or her masterpiece in one’s mind before embodying it in canvas or stone, God, if he is not to act blindly but intelligently, must have a guiding idea of divine blueprint of the creature that is logically prior to his decision to creature it. The natural life is not spiritual, and it can be made spiritual only through sacrifice. If we do not purposely sacrifice the natural, the supernatural can never become natural to us. There is no high or easy road. Each of us has the means to accomplish it entirely in our own hands. It is not a question of praying but of sacrificing, and thereby performing God’s will. #RandolphHarris 7 of 7

Justification by Faith—Nothing is Free because Opportunity Cost
God is the God of Nature as well as the God of Heaven. The past cannot go back forever, then, there Universe must have a beginning. In the beginning, God created the Heavens and the Earth. The Earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And God said, “Let there be light.” God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. Light is to be understood as both the Light of God and the light of reason that God has kindled in humans in order to guide them on their way toward eternal truth. This method was a form of systematic and empirical inquiry which would guarantee the harmonization between human reason and the natural—and perhaps even the supernatural—universe. This new inductive method would shed light not only on the arcana naturae, but also on the mysteries of the human mind and of human learning. The way to teach all things to humans was first to grasp the significance of a methodical procedure in schooling, to project a plan of Universal education, and to see the significance of education as an agency of international understanding. #RandolphHarris 1 of 7
Education is to be extended to all people, all peoples—should be crowned by a pansophia (encyclopedic synthesis of universal knowledge) of the order of all things within the cosmic order. Education is for the promotion of the great and Worldwide mission of a Universal College, of the great and wise people of the whole World, and an easily constructed international language for the peace and for the reform of the whole World and as an antidote to the confusion of thought. The way of the light is to torch bearers of this enlightened age and bring real philosophy to a happy birth. There is a confident hop that through their endeavors philosophy brought to perfection would exhibit the true and distinctive qualities of things for the constantly progressive increase of all that makes for good mind, body, and estate. There are morally certain indications of proofs warranting the assertion that God exists. The argument is value in itself. The universal consent of nations in the recognition of God must be deemed the voice of the universal reason yielding to the compelling evidence of truth. #RandolphHarris 2 of 7
The whole Universe is a vast, interlocking chain of beautiful things that came into existence. Each of these things must therefore have a cause. The Universe consists of a series of events stretched across time in a long causal chain. Each of these events is the cause of the event that comes after it, and the effect of the event that comes before it. The World as it came from the World as it was, which came from the World as it was before. If we trace this series of events back in time, then what do we find? The first cause argument tells us that the past cannot stretch back into infinity but rather must have a beginning. The argument then proceeds by suggesting that if the Universe has a beginning, then there must be something outside it that brought it into existence. This being outside the Universe, this Creator, the first cause argument tells us, is God. This claim has been confirmed by modern science, who traced the Universe back to the point of origin in the big bang, where there was an explosion that cause life to come into being, this is also documented in the Holy Bible in Genesis. #RandolphHarris 3 of 7
The fact that the Universe began to exist therefore implies that something brought it into existence, the Universe has a Creator. If this Creator were a being like the Universe, a being that exists in time and so that came into existence, then it too would have been created by something. Nothing come from nothing, not even God. This tells us that the ultimate cause of the Universe must never have come into existence; the ultimate Creator must be a being that exists outside of time, and eternal being with neither beginning nor end. Even without any qualification, this is a valid proof of the existence of God and seems to regard the conclusion as established with perfect certainty. Neither general tradition nor the unanimous consent of all people can place any injunction upon the truth. For a variety of reasons, it is true that God exists and created the World, Galaxy, and Universe. We are accustomed to attach great importance to the Universal belief of humankind. It is accepted by us as a convincing argument. That there are gods we infer from the sentiment engrafted in the human; mind; nor has any nation ever been found, so far beyond the pale of law and civilization as to deny their existence. #RandolphHarris 4 of 7
Some philosophers believe that it is innate or instinctive that human beings believe in God from the time that they are born as an image or some other actual content. Or the belief in God may amount to the much milder claim that it I present as a disposition to arrive at the belief when noticing the things in question, the person cannot help coming to believe in God. It is then apparent that this belief in God is instinctive. And the question seems to be, under what circumstances would a human being not possess an innate belief in God? More specifically, let us suppose that a person observes the facts of organic adjustment and experiences a sense of duty and obligation but nevertheless maintains, with all appearance of sincerity, that one does not believe in God. Under what circumstances would it be true to say that one had observed the facts adequately, that one’s religious nature was not clouded or defiled, but that one nevertheless had no belief in God? All of the faculties and feelings of our minds and bodies have their appropriate objects; and the possession of the faculties supposes the existence of God. Thus, the eye, in its every structure, supposes that there is light to be seen, and the ear would be unaccountable and inconceivable without the existence of sound. #RandolphHarris 5 of 7
In the like manner, our religious feelings and aspirations necessitate the existence of God. The yearning for some kind of God does point toward an in-built hunger in each of us—a hunger for something greater than we are. And the absence in the belief in God does not prove absence for a yearning for God; and in fact there are undoubtedly unbelievers who wish they could believe. However, there are also people who do not believe in God, but who are also devoid of any hunger for God. God is a Supreme Being, persona and intelligent, to whom humans own honor and reverence, regardless of what else one also believes or fails to believe. The majority of people use reason in any significant sense in arriving at a fortification for their belief after the original acceptance of God. When I turned to God and by belief accept what God reveals, the miraculous atonement by the Cross of Christ instantly places me into a right relationship with God. And as a result of the supernatural miracle of God’s grace, I stand justified because Jesus Christ gave his life to pay for our sins and granted us salvation. Nothing is free. #RandolphHarris 6 of 7
God is infinite and the Maker of all humanity. There is another way to look at what it means by saying that nothing is free. God had to give up his only son to set the Universe right after Satan and his demons wreaked havoc on Earth. The opportunity cost of some item is what we give up to get that item. For example, if a farmer and a rancher each spend 8 hours a day working. Time spent producing eggs, therefore, takes away from time available for producing broccoli. As the rancher and farmer reallocate time between producing the two goods, they move along their production possibility frontiers; they give up units of one good to produce units of the other. The opportunity cost measures the trade-off between the two goods that each producer faces. The opportunity cost of an item is what you give up to get that item. Rational people systematically and purposefully do the best they can to achieve their objectives, given the opportunities they have, and it is assumed that most people are rational. God is the creator of reality, he supplies the foundation of morality, and he is also omnipotent, omniscient, and supremely good. #RandolphHarris 7 of 7
The Witches Act of 1603—Sell Your Soul to Supernatural 1,000,000 View = Reality

You complain of a great many defects [in yourself] and that complaint is the highest recommendation I could desire to make me love and esteem you and desire your friendship. And if I were now setting out in the World, I should think it my great happiness to have such a companion as you, who had a true relish of truth…and, if I mistake not, you have as much of it as I ever met with in anybody. The right and the necessity to inquire freely and fearlessly into all subjects, especially religion, is important to human testimony. The superstitions of peoples throughout the World and also the infinite numbers of pretenders to the divine revelation of freedom, with tongue in cheek created some thoughts. In the sixteenth century, a new Christian theory developed based on Christian theology, canon law, and philosophical ideas. This theory was that a witch had made a deliberate pact with the Devil—almost a form of a personal arrangement—but that witch did not act alone. The Christian witch theory demanded that more of these witches be found, and arrested and that black witchcraft be effectively ended. #RandolphHarris 1 of 9

The authorities of the time believed that even healing had to be a result of a pact with the Devil, so white witches were also persecuted. The arrest of one witch almost certainly led to more arrests, as torture was allowed to be used on suspects to find out the names of other witches. Freedom had exorcised the witches that so plagued James I and Charles I: Witchcraft was a criminal offence in Scotland prior to 1590 and great numbers of witches had almost annually executed in England, from the remotest antiquity to the late Revolution; when the liberty given, and take to thin freely, the Devil’s power visibly declined, and England as well as the United Provinces ceased to be any part of his Christian territories. All enemies of freethinking were branded crack-brained and enthusiastical, malicious, ambitious, inhumane, ignorant, or brutal—or courters of priests, women, and the mob. Three hundred witches had allegedly gathered to plot the murder of James. It is known that James had a morbid fear of violent death. Therefore, these trials were of especial interest to him, and he suddenly developed a very keen interest in demonology and witch craft. #RandolphHarris 2 of 9

Evidence for these crimes seemed outlandish. Witches were accused of attempting to drown James by calling up a storm while he was at sea with his new wife. Other charges included trying to kill James by melting a wax effigy of him. They were also accused of performing perverted rituals in a church in Berwick—though it is not clear that this had to do specifically with trying to kill the king. However, when James became king is 1603, he claimed that he never had been responsible for hunting and killing the witches. Yet, evidence suggests differently. In 1591, King James showed a particular interest in the trial of Mary Napier—she was arrested for consulting a witch and linked to treasonable activity. Mary Napier claimed to be pregnant at the time of her arrest. James wrote a court order to find out if Mary was pregnant and if she was not she was to be burned. Mary Napier was also a friend of Earl Bothwell’s and legend has it that James was willing to use witchcraft for political ends. Nonetheless, the court acquitted Mary Napier—much to the anger of James. #RandolphHarris 3 of 9

While the witches were accused of classic witchcraft, the main issues as far as James was concerned was the plan to murder him—treason. The trials also had a major political aspect as there was an attempt to incriminate Earl Bothwell in the proceedings. One theory put forward is that the whole story was a plot made up by those nobles in Scotland who wanted to devalue the standing of Earl Bothwell within Scotland—and expand theirs. In 1597, James felt sufficiently knowledgeable about witchcraft that he wrote “Daemonologie.” The book dealt with intellectual topics such as magic, sorcery, witchcraft, spirits, and ghost. There were 25 witchcraft trials a year from 1603 to 1625, nearly 450 total. Half of the witches accused were found guilty and executed. As society became more civilized and ancient texts were examined scholarly and in a critical manner, the discourse concluded with a refutation of the standard objections to freethinking. Atheism is not, after all, the worst of all evils; enthusiasm and superstition hold that title. #RandolphHarris 4 of 9

The connection between morality and theoretical science, namely, that theoretical science reflects moral practice. King James was really quick to distance himself as an expert of witches, ghost, and demons because England was viewed as more civilized of a society, where intellectual discussed issues of a philosophical nature—but that did not included witchcraft. For James, any association with the topic was seen as potential embarrassment. The classical conception of politics is to bring humans out a state of nature into a state of civil society. Essentially, political life is a process in which nonsocial community (i.e., the state of nature) is transformed into a social one. This cannot happen unless the rulers understand that social life is a life in which people freely engage in joint enterprises. Civilization is a process whereby a community undergoes a change from a condition of relative barbarity to one of civility. Barbarism is hostility to civilization; but although barbarous communities always strive to destroy civilized ones, in the long run the defeat of barbarism is certain. #RandolphHarris 5 of 9

The Bible, consequently, is not to be taken seriously when it portrays God in human terms; certain parts of the Bible are to be accepted, while others are to be rejected. When the Bible is thought to suggest that it is acceptable to murder or harm or to shun people who are good from society, this must be viewed as fraudulently when contrary to reason. The appeal to mystery and to things above reason simply will not do. The error detected was that what King James and others were doing was for speculative reasons, with no proof firmly established in reality, and it was alien to the mind of philosophers. Given any piece of evidence, more than one reconstruction can be made of the action of which it is a relic. However, each reconstruction, take together with other knowledge, will entail consequences different from those of its fellows. A given reconstruction is established if no consequence that can be drawn from it conflicts with the evidence and if every other reconstruction has some consequence that does conflict with it. If a historian cannot show that one reconstruction, and only one, can be reconciled with the evidence, one must suspend judgment. #RandolphHarris 6 of 9

To discover that an act took place includes discovering the thought expressed in the act; and discovering that thought explains the act. Why is one view of nature replaced by another? Natural science must come first in order that philosophy may have something to reflect on. Art is something preconceived. Works of art may be, and commonly are, also works of craft. However, what makes something a work of art and determines whether it is a good or bad one is not what makes it a work of craft. A work of art is an imaginative creation; the function of imagination is to raise what is preconscious (for instance, mere feeling) to consciousness by giving it definite form. Imagination and expression are identical. All expressions, in any medium, is linguistic; for any form by which the preconscious is raised to consciousness is linguistic. Language thus begins in the cradle. Children speak before they learn their mother tongues. The primitive language of the cradle has not yet officially been decoded, but we can get a sense of what infants and babies are singing and talking about; it must be enriched by intellectualizing it so that it can express thoughts as well as feelings. #RandolphHarris 7 of 9

An intellectualized language is one containing conceptual terms, and conceptual thinking is abstract. An intellectualized language does not cease to be expressive; rather its range of expressiveness is increased. Art is, therefore, not an activity cut off from, say, science. Every fresh linguistic utterance is imaginative and can be considered a work of art. There is poetry without prose, but no prose without poetry. And since it is the nature of art to be expressive, good art is successful expression. Bad art is the malperformance of the act of bringing preconscious thoughts and feelings to consciousness, a malperformance that misrepresents what is thought and felt. It can arise only in a corrupt consciousness. Critics can detect bad art, works of corrupt consciousness, by comparing them with successful works. Consciousness if a feeling and it belongs to a higher order. There is primitive consciousness, appetite, desire, free choice, and reason. One can become conscious of an act of consciousness by introspection or inner sense. All acts of consciousness are linguistic; mind is the child of language. #RandolphHarris 8 of 9

We are not here to work for God because we have chosen to do so, but because God has laid hold of us. Keep your soul steadfastly related to God, and remember that you are called not simply to conveys your testimony but also to preach the gospel. Every Christian must testify to the truth of God; there must be the loving grip of God’s hand on you. The fearful abounding at this time in this country, of these detestable slaves of the Devil, is weakening humanity and making them unfit, and making it abound in others, more than the ordinary course of nature would permit. And such like in all other particular sicknesses. However, I will pray thee to observe in all these places, where I reason upon the Devil’s power, which is the different ends and scopes, that God is the first cause, and the Devil as his instrument and second cause shoot at in all these actions of the Devil, (as Gods hang-man). For where the Devil’s intention in them is ever to perish, either the soul or the body, or both of the, that he is permitted to deal with: God by the contraries, draws every out the evil glory to himself, either by the wreck of the wicked in their injustice, or by the trial of the patient and amendment of the faithful, being waked up with that rod of correction. #RandolphHarris 9 of 9

The Winchester Mystery House

Entombed within these walls are stories of the dead and the strange. Many have experienced for themselves the hauntingly beautiful Winchester Mystery House. https://winchestermysteryhouse.com/
Get Me a Handkerchief from Her Bosom—a Garter of My Love

Body image can be an important aspect of self-concept that strongly affect sexuality. After many years of working with adults who have experienced past traumas, I have learned that there is never really a possible wrap to up to the trauma work and then move on to dealing with relationships. It is more productive to determine how everything is related and then to address all aspects of the trauma’s legacy, including its effect on creating healthy intimacy. The first tool in raising your awareness is to open your heart and tame the distracted part of yourself. Many people may long for freedom, often valuing it more than the relationship and they will not find a significant degree until they have unchained their sexuality from the nonsexual task to which they have assigned it, however unknowingly. What we do sexually reflects what we are doing in the rest of our lives. Some people use their sexuality to both act out and distance themselves from their unresolved childhood wounding. However, the eroticizing of our unresolved wounds insufficiently meets needs. #RandolphHarris 1 of 8

Arbitrary definitions of sexuality that impose external standards of success and failure reduce the opportunities for individual and couples to determine what is satisfactory based on their own feelings. In addition, a transitory sexual problem such as an inability to achieve an orgasm or erection due to fatigue or just not being in the mood can produce such concern and anxiety that the problem develops into a pattern. Also, not all young men are as sexual some may think. Some young men are reserved because they have not matured or they are concerned about their penis size and so they are not ready to engage in sexual acts. One’s own performance anxiety, a partner’s response, or the combination of the two can turn a transitory difficulty into a serious problem. If a partner withdraws emotionally and physically blames him—or herself, or feels insecure about the relationship as a result of the other’s reduced response, the problem may be worse the next time due to anxiety about it recurring. Individuals or couples may also avoid sexual activity to protect themselves from either embarrassment or a sense of failure for not meeting arbitrary standards. #RandolphHarris 2 of 8

The employment of the mouth as a sexual organ is considered as a perversion if the lips (tongue) of the one are brought into contact with the genitals of the other, but not when the mucous membrane of the lips of both touch each other. In the latter exception we find the connection with the normal. One who abhors the former as perversion, though since antiquity these has been common practices among humankind, yields to a distinct feeling of loathing which restrains one from adopting such sexual aims. The limit of such loathing is frequently purely conventional; one who kisses fervently the lips of a pretty girl will perhaps be able to use her tooth-brush only with a sense of loathing, though there is no reason to assume that his own oral cavity for which he entertains no loathing is cleaner than that of the girl. Our attention is here called to the factor of loathing which stands in the way of the libidinous overestimation of the sexual aim, but which may in turn be vanquished by the libido. #RandolphHarris 3 of 8

In loathing we may observe one of the forces which have brought about the restrictions of the sexual aim. As a rule, these forces halt at the genitals; there is, however, no doubt that even the genitals of the other sex may themselves be an object of loathing. Such behavior is characteristic of all hysterics, especially women. The force of the sexual instinct prefers to occupy itself with the overcoming of this loathing. Beyond the cultural setting and the influences it has on the feelings and expression, the sexual difficulties may also stem from other physical, emotional, or psychological factors. Each of us is a unique, complex blend of biological, cultural, and emotional elements. Our sexuality is an expression of all of these aspects of ourselves, which begin forming in childhood and continue to develop throughout our lives. Human reactions to life experiences are highly variable, so that two individuals may respond in totally different ways to the same situation. We are still keeping the sex in the shadows to a significant degree, no matter how bright the lights are. #RandolphHarris 4 of 8

It is even more obvious than in the former cause, that it is loathing which stamps as a perversion the use of the anus as a sexual aim. However, it should not be interpreted as espousing a cause when I observe that the basis of this loathing—namely, that this part of the body serves for the excretion and some into contact with the loathsome excrement—is not more plausible than the basis which hysterical men and women have for the disgust which they entertain for the male genital because it serves for urination. The sexual role of the mucous membrane of the anus is by no means limited to intercourse between men; the preference for it is not at all a characteristic of inverted feeling. On the contrary, it seems that pedicatio in men owes its role to its analogy with the act in women, whereas among inverts it is mutual masturbation which is the most common sexual aim. Sexual infringement on other parts of the body, in all its variations, offers nothing new; it adds nothing to our knowledge of the sexual instinct which thereby only announces its intention to dominate the sexual object in every way. #RandolphHarris 5 of 8

Besides the sexual overvaluation, a second and generally unknown factor may be mentioned among the anatomical transgressions. Certain parts of the body, like the mucous membrane of the mouth and anus, which repeatedly appear in such practices, lay claim, as it were, to be considered and treated as genitals. Fetishism—we are especially impressed by those cases in which the normal sexual object is substituted for another, which, though related to it, is totally unfit for the normal sexual aim. The substitute for the sexual object is generally a part of the body, but little adapted for sexual purposes, such as the foot or hair or some inanimate object (fragments of clothing, underwear), which has some demonstrable relation to the sexual person, preferably to the sexuality of the same. This substitute is not unjustly compared with the fetish in which the savage sees the embodiment of his or her god. A certain degree of such fetishism is, therefore, regularly found in the normal, especially during those stages of wooing when the normal sexual aim seems inaccessible or when its realization is unduly deferred. #RandolphHarris 6 of 8

The case become pathological only when the striving for the fetich fixes itself beyond such determinations and takes the place of the normal sexual aim; or again, when the fetich disengages itself from the person concerned and itself becomes a sexual object. These are the general determinants for the transition of mere variations of the sexual instinct to pathological aberrations. The persistent influence of a sexual impression mostly received in early childhood often shows itself in the selection of a fetich. Such a connection is especially seen in cases showing a simple fetichistic conditioning of the sexual object. The significance of early sexual impressions will be met again in other places. In other cases, it is mostly a symbolic mental association, which is unconscious to the person concerned, which leads to the substitution of the object by a fetich. The paths of these connection cannot always be definitely demonstrated. #RandolphHarris 7 of 8

The foot is a very primitive sexual symbol already found in myths. The shoe or the slipper is accordingly a symbol for the female genitals. Fur is used as a fetich probably on account of its association with the hairiness of the mons veneris. Such symbolism seems often to depend on sexual experiences in childhood. All the outer and inner determinations which impede or hold at a distance the attainment of the normal sexual aim, such as impotence, costliness of the sexual object, and dangers of the sexual act, will conceivably strengthen the inclination to linger at the preparatory acts, and to form them into new sexual aims to take the place of the normal. On closer investigation, it is always seen that indications of what seems the most peculiar of these new aims have already existed in the normal sexual act. However, the desire for looking becomes a perversion when it is exclusively limited to the genitals; when it comes connected with overcoming of loathing (voyeurs and onlookers at the functions of excretion); and when instead of preparing for the normal sexual aim, it suppresses it. #RandolphHarris 8 of 8

If You Fall, I Will Be there—the Floor
Consider our dreams attentively. Is Good a superfluous word…for the pleasurable and its causes—at most a mere modification to express degree and comparative duration of pleasure. The meaning of good can be decided only by an appeal to universal usage, for the distinction between good and pleasurable, which is common to all languages of the civilized World, must be the consequent of a common consciousness of human as human. Though all evils may be assuaged; all evils cannot be done away. For evil is the chronic malady of the Universe; and checked in one place, breaks forth in another. In this World, sin that pays its way can travel freely, and without a passport; whereas Virtue, if a pauper, is topped at all frontiers. Things are good because they are desired, and things that are or ought to be desired because they are good. Good cannot be defined simply in terms of pleasure or happiness. The agent’s motive has nothing to do with the morality of his or her action, partly logical and partly psychological. I could do a morally right act by sheer chance. However, such complete lack of inward, conscious participation on my part could never be a sufficient criterion for my acting morally. Morality is confounded with law. #RandolphHarris 1 of 8
Moreover, it is no defense here to say that the principle was put forward as a criterion for judging the morality of the action and not that of the agent, because this last distinction is merely logical, not real and vital. Acts cannot be dissociated from an agent any more than ideas from a mind. In any society there are always two antithetical forces at work. Since, dialectically speaking, opposite powers are always of the same kind, and tend to union, a well-functioning society is the nonrevolutionary reconciliation of forces working for permanence with forces working for progression. These are respectively the aristocratic, and landed interest and the bourgeois, commercial interest of early Victorian England; a monarch also being required to maintain cohesion. Civilization takes to denote external, material social progress, while cultivation is more inward and personal: the harmonious development of these qualities and faculties that characterize our humanity. So that cultivation can take place, the formation of a state-endowed class, the clerisy or national church, which would effectively consist of professors of liberal arts officially established throughout the country. #RandolphHarris 2 of 8
The national church would, however, be in no sense identical with the Church of England or with any purely religious organization. Its purpose would be to preserve the results of learning, to bind the present with the past, and to give every member of the community an understanding of their social rights and duties. The almost limitless possibilities for authoritarianism in such an arrangement are, again, obvious. Nevertheless, the idea of culture as something independent of material progress was first systematically introduced into English thinking, and was from then onward available in various forms, not merely to influence society but also to judge it. Many people have inevitably overlooked the darker side of romanticism. For once the romantic artist or philosopher ceases to believe in God, one tends either to find a new object of veneration in history or hero worship or, more recently, to relinquish one’s very inwardness and imagination in solipsistic nausea. It is a curious fortune that some have never lost their belief in God. #RandolphHarris 3 of 8
We should speculate on humanism, love, beauty, and mystical union. Creation is a merging of form and matter, and this form is not an emanationist overflow from God’s essence, but rather an entity created by God outside himself. In the realm of redemption, only a harmonized soul can govern the body, harmonization can come only from the Holy Spirit’s infusion of sanctifying grace. Love transforms the lover into the object loved. The physical World is as full of mysteries and obscurities as are the concepts of theology rather than to show that it does exist. Philosophers have demonstrated that an external World must be divisible and it cannot be infinitely divisible, it is capable of motion and it cannot be capable of motion. Faced with this situation, we have no alternative but to declare that the very concept of an external World is self-contradictory. No intelligible account can be given of the relation between an external World and God. Stress its dependence on God’s will; and its externality, and it takes on the attribute of God. There is one substance, God, which is being itself, all being, Universal being. #RandolphHarris 4 of 8
The existence of everything else is dependent upon the existence of God not only causally but also in the sense that particular things have no substance of their own. However, although everything but God is ultimately dependent on him, everything except Christ is also relatively dependent on something else; qualities in-exist in objects, objects in the mind, and the mind in Christ, through whom God made the transition from universality to particularity. Christ’s dependence on God gives priority to all created things and even to time, Christ’s begetting being the first pulse of time. Imagination is active and has its own guiding principle, beauty. Beauty, however, must be defined in terms of imagination and the reverse is not true. Imagination in art is in conflict with expression in art, and their conflict shows that art alone cannot satisfy the human spirit. Art gives rise to religion, in which something imagined is affirmed as real. Like art, religion has its own guiding principle, holiness. The artistic consciousness does not affirm that what it imagines is real; but religion, even Christianity, which is considered its highest form, affirm something imagined—a Father in Heaven, the Real Presence in the sacrament, the resurrection of the dead—as real. #RandolphHarris 5 of 8
These affirmations in God symbolize something true; but religion requires that they be affirmed in their symbolic forms: A philosopher would not be regarded as a Christian for subscribing to a statement which he declared to be a mere paraphrase of the Apostles’ Creed in philosophical terms. Christianity, by affirming the incarnation and atoning death of God, symbolizes the overcoming of the opposition between humans and God. This unity of humans with God symbolizes the human capacity to attain nonsymbolic, direct knowledge. Theoretical science is the first form of experience in which human beings try by reason to grasp truth. However, theoretical science, whether a priori as in mathematics or empirical as in natural science, is abstract. Natural science is the application of mathematics to the empirical World, conceived as subject to laws (materialism) and composed of an ultimate undifferentiated stuff (materialism). However, the World, as we experience it, is not merely mathematical, mechanical and material. #RandolphHarris 6 of 8
Theoretical science is therefore only supposition: its truths are hypothetical. It can say truly, “If there were an S, there would be P,” where S and P are events in a material World specified in mechanistic applicable to the World of experience. They are abstract; and to abstract is to falsify. These Earthly spirits are powerless and pithless. However, look, on the other hand, at the power which comes from above. Rain is of the size of a very small grain, yet when falls on the ground it provides water and makes the flowers bloom, grass grow, quenches the thirsty of the trees, and allows famers to grow food and provides us with water to drink and shower in. Or a drop which falls from a pitcher to the ground, and it stains the floor. You see, then, that the smallest things coming from above have great power when they fall upon the Earth. Thus also is the Divine Spirit, which comes from above, powerful. Trust, then, that Spirit, but have nothing to do with the people who try to bring you down. Having the reality of God’s presence is not dependent on out being in a particular circumstance or place, but is only dependent on our determination to keep the Lord before us continually. #RandolphHarris 7 of 8
Our problems arise when we refuse to place our trust in the reality of God’s presence. If our everyday decisions are not according to His will, God will press through them, bringing restraint to our spirit. Then we must be quiet and wait for the direction of His presence. Have you ever looked at yourself in the mirror? Do you believe that your beauty is matchless and everyone is infatuated with you. However, I love your soul more than your appearance. You are water, blue waves with ripples in clear spring, flowing happily. You flow into my heart and become love, then my heart is delighted. Dear God, I miss you, every second, every minute, in every day. God, I dream of you all the time, every minute at every night. How many times I wish I was in Heaven to see your happy smile. How many times I imagine having a good time with you. The World smiles when you smile, my Lord. My heart is waiting and waiting. You are the flame of fire burning endlessly, brightening my life. I would like to fly into your heart, and stay with you forever. So long as I am with my Supreme leader, I am not afraid of anything. #RandolphHarris 8 of 8

Who Shall Make my Dinner Now?
If nothing bad happens, it is a good day. We do not suffer by accident. What creature but a madman would not rather do good than ill, when it is plain that, good or ill, it must return upon himself. If the human mind is not actively good, it will generally be actively evil. Ryan was not much changed. The man had the devil in his heart. That is all. There were sins whose fascination was more in the memory than in the doing of them, strange triumphs that gratified the pride more than the passions, and gave to them intellect a quickened sense of joy, greater than any joy they brought, or could ever bring to the senses. Good actions are remembered but for a day: bad ones for many years after the life of the guilty. It is seldom that a bad person expects to be accounted good. It is the general desire of such a one to conquer the existing evil impression; but it is generally presumed that the evil impression is there. I am not sure why you guys would want to remind me of the bad deeds he did, I know he is wrong, but it takes me back to a very dark and lonely place, at least when I was pretending he was a good person, I felt better. Nonetheless, all the evil things he did were still in my mind and unresolved. #RandolphHarris 1 of 10
You can always tell if a person feels bad about the harm they caused if they show remorse. Ignorance and prejudice are the only real evils. Sin is never in season; and—alas!—it is never out of season when the devil is the master. Remorse is posited to serve a restitutive function in relationships and, as such, appears always within a relational setting. Remorse derives its essential character from the relationship which it seeks to restore. The presentation of remorse may reflect a genuine outpouring of concern for the estranged or may be a hollow semblance, a dramatic gesture enacted to restore the functions served within the relationship. The meaning of the display of remorse is not found in its appearance but rather emanates from the essential character of the relationship. The remorseful person, in particular, presents an individual seeking to heal estrangement. The initial engagement between people reflects their budding capabilities for meaningful interaction. Throughout their lives human beings seek relationships and the companionship and comfort of others as their existences unfold. #RandolphHarris 2 of 10
Relating with others is prompted therefore not only be the demand for somatic satiation but also for emotional, interpersonal sustainment. Relationality emanates from within an interpersonal as well as somatic context. Estrangement throughout the life cycle affects the individual in often dramatic ways. Disturbances within relationships may create psychological trauma and threaten the existence of an individual and may establish a pattern of disturbed interpersonal relations; and may lead to an ontological orientation of emptiness and despair, a chronic and painful sense of nothingness. Through intentional or unintentional behaviors individuals affect the others with whom they relate. The actions either further the development of intimacy or lead to estrangement. When you hurt someone over and over and try to make them feel sorry for you so they do not leave you, that is abuse, especially when you do not express remorse. The experience of remorse may be seen as the attempt of the individual to reconcile an estrangement which their actions have wrought within a relationship. #RandolphHarris 3 of 10
Are not foul streams often traced to pure fountains? Remorse is not born out of concern or regard for the other and is enacted to quell the anxiety and guilt over one’s actions or sympathy for the other in light of doing someone wrong. However, even if a person shows remorse, it vanishes, never to be referred to again. This is typified in a clinical report of such an individual who remarked upon hearing of his wife’s death, “Who shall make my dinner now?” This comment was genuine in that it characterized the essential nature of the relationship, one restricted to the maintenance of his existence. After he was assured that someone would provide this function, that is, preparing his meals, his remorse over his deeds towards his deceased wife ended. Remorse in this context is a façade which makes the indifference toward the other and the self-absorbed nature of the relationship. Remorse may be viewed as the means by which the individual seeks to entice the other to restore the functions the other provided. Even persons who have bad hearts will have a veneration for those who have good ones. #RandolphHarris 4 of 10
The essence of all good and all evil is in us, not out of us. Remorse within the interpersonal context reveals an individual’s desire and intention for relationship with another. Empathy with the estranged other, which by definition appears within interpersonal setting, summons the experience of guilt. Guilt as the affective response to the know or belief that one has injured or estranged another calls forth remorse. Within a healthy interpersonal relationship, a remorseful person declares the injury that has been committed upon the other, acknowledges the value of the relationship, and seeks understanding and reconciliation in an attempt to restore the relationship. In such a relationship, the other is affirmed as a person and the restoration of the relationship is based on an appreciation of its value for each individual. In the interpersonal setting of neurosis, remorse may appear as the desperate attempt to maintain a relationship. This, however, is not out of concern for the other as person, but rather is motivated by the desire to continue the relationship as it serves a symbolic restitutive function. #RandolphHarris 5 of 10
In a relationship where you are just using someone for a benefit they provide and keep hurting them over and over and showing remorse to keep receiving that benefit, in such a relationship, the other is not acknowledged for who he or she is, but rather valued in functioning as proxy for the esteemed love object with whom the individual experienced estrangement. The aim is not to restore an authentic relationship, but rather to maintain the neurotic gratification and to avoid further narcissistic injury or guilt. Similarly, remorse may be elicited by events or actions which are experienced as injurious within a neurotic context. Also, if you keep abusing a person and they keep forgiving you because they feel sorry for you or you show remorse, at some point you have to realize a walk in the park is not going to restore your relationship because over this years you have developed a pattern of offending and then doing the same things to express remorse and you expect to be forgiven. However, a rational person will realize that you are just going to hurt them again, and a simple walk in the park is not going to be enough. #RandolphHarris 6 of 10
If someone is important to you, then you treat them with respect and dignity. However, if you are just using the person for some benefit they provide, then you need to be honest with yourself and that individual and provide them with some kind of monetary benefit because experience tells us that after you hurt someone over and over and use and abuse them that their feelings for you will vamoose. And even if they just try to pretend that you are a good person for the sake of the situation, people who care for them are going to remind them that you are a bad person because they do not want to see you continually using, abusing, and hurting someone. And if you do not have true concern for the individual’s life that you keep devastating, you really should leave them alone because people have ended their lives when someone they cared kept abusing them. When remorse is aimed at restoring gratifying functions in a relationship with the motivation being based upon relating with the other person, then you acknowledge to some extent the value of the other person and have empathy with their experience. #RandolphHarris 7 of 10
However, if you are just using a person for some benefit, good, or service, then you need to establish a business relationship and pay them for whatever it is you want from them and stop exploiting that individual and emotionally abusing them. The implications of your actions upon one’s existence need to be acknowledged and felt. In facing the existential consequences of one’s actions, the abusive individual learns about the nature of the self and becomes informed about the meaning of his or her actions. Remorse includes an affective as well as intellectual acknowledgement of estrangement. The affective response to one’s injurious behavior is guilt. Guilt occurs when someone injuries another person. Within the Godly setting, guilt acknowledges the injury to the essence of the self as a co-creator of the human order and remorse address the reconciliation within the human community. Guilt is not necessarily due to the fact that the individual wills what is wrong, but it comes into being in the attempt to take the task of existence seriously, or rather: it is discovered in this attempt. #RandolphHarris 8 of 10
A false prophet ruins the minds of the servants of God. It is the doubters, not the faith, that he ruins. These doubters then go to him as to a soothsayer, and inquire him what will happen to them; and he, the false prophet, not having the power of a Divine Spirit in him, answers them according to their inquires, and according to their wicked desires, and fills their souls with expectations, according to their own wishes. For being himself empty, he gives empty answers to empty inquirers; for every answer is made to the emptiness of man. Some true words he does occasionally utter, for the devil fills him with his own spirit, in the hope that he may be able to overcome some of the righteous. As many, then, as are strong in faith of the Lord, and are clothed with truth, have no connection with such spirits, but keep away from them; but as many as are of doubtful minds and frequent repent, betake themselves to soothsaying, even as the heathen, and bring greater sin upon themselves by their idolatry. For one who inquires of a false prophet in regard to any action is an idolater, and devoid of the truth, and foolish. #RandolphHarris 9 of 10
Jesus Christ urges us to keep our minds filled with the concept of God’s control over everything, which means that a disciple must maintain an attitude of perfect trust and an eagerness to ask and to seek. Fill your mind with the thought that God is there. God is my Father, He loves me, and I will never think of anything that He will forget, so why should I worry? Belief in God is a miracle produced only by the effectiveness of redemption, not by impressive speech, nor by wooing and persuading, but only by the sheer unaided power of God. The creative power of redemption comes through the preaching of the gospel, but never because of the personality of the preacher. There is nothing miraculous or mysterious about the things we can explain. We control what we are able to explain; consequently, it is only nature to seek an explanation for everything. If one rules another by saying, “You must do this,” and “You will do that,” he breaks the human spirit making it unfit for God. A person is simply a slave for obeying, unless behind his obedience is the recognition of a holy God. #RandolphHarris 10 of 10

My Courage Always Rises with Every Attempt to Intimidate me
These are people I used to admire and love…maybe they will leave their lessons now. Jail and prison are hard places, people get beat up, they get marks on their records and cannot get jobs when they are released, and it changes people. I have no idea what they are going to be charged with, but many of them are so old that they could possible die behind bars, they are in their 50s, 60s, and some even older. And, still, I wonder, why did they do this to me and why for so long and how could they have found it fun? People destroying my car, hitting me in the back of my head, choking me while I am driving, getting me drunk and pushing me to the ground and taking advantage of me, which caused serious injuries, and shooting at my car, apparently aiming for the gas tank. And of course revenge porn, which is actually a form of sexual abuse in California. Selling my private information, shooting at my car, using me to promote for their newsrooms, and threatening me when I stopped. And then there is Ryan Phillippe who used me for free advertisement, then we his career took off, he disappeared and pretended not to know me anymore. Is this how you treat people you love? The cold part about it, they waited until my father was dead to get started. Just days after his death, they got started. #RyanPhillippe 1 of 3
Is it not unbelievable, what they did, and how many of them were involved and how powerful they are? Can you believe they tried to pretend nothing happened, and it was just my imagination and that it was all my fault? I am not even sure why they decided to target me? Nevertheless, they still show up to work and walk around like they did nothing wrong, and all of that time I had no one to turn to nor talk to because everyone just would not acknowledge what was going on. So, since I would not get anyone to help me, I just bought a bunch of psychology books and read them, I even read encyclopedias, and religious text to flood my mind with stuff to make me forget what was going on and also to help me dream about being in another place. And so, I had forgiven them because there were so many of them and just one of me, and you know the old saying, “it is you with the problem, not everyone else,” but how could so many adults many of them much older than myself torture me and find nothing wrong with it? #RyanPhillippe 2 of 3
So, I forgave them, and then Ryan shows back up, after causing so much trouble in my life, but it seems others have heard about the situation and know what happened, and reminded me of how bad he treated me and that it is not okay. It is not okay that he used me and gave nothing back, then shows back up like he did nothing wrong and it so innocent. Well, honestly, I do not know what is going to happen to all of those people, nor when it will be resolved. However, the laws of nature tell us that we cannot get away with using and abusing people and the Bible says we are to treat others how we want to be treated and that we will all be held accountable for our sins. Is Ryan Phillippe going to go to jail along with them others, when will law enforcement actually start contacting them and making arrest because they are all criminals. And you know, while they were doing me wrong, I was sad, not just because of how they treated me, but because they are likely to go to jail and prison, and it is a rough place, and they are likely to lose their houses, cars, furniture and everything they worked so hard for, but not only that. Just remember, my life was of absolutely no value to them. #RyanPhillippe 3 of 3

A Day will Come When you Will be Searching for me in the Daylight with a Flashlight
The unfortunate have claims upon the hearts of those whom God has blessed with affluence. Life is full of the saddest and the strongest contrasts and there are times when an individual must act as though life were equally sweet in any company. No single thing is so important to every person as to have for neighbors intelligent, companionable persons. There are three different meanings of “being” –a more general sense as “intelligible” and a less general sense as “something” and a particular sense as “real beings,” or being outside the intellect. Attributes are either original or derived. The original attributes are essence existence, and production. Production originates the derived attributes. God is the primary cause of motion and the planets are moved by vortices in the ethereal substance. The search for the most important element of space may be filled by God as a savior brining personal consolation to all beings. The idea of the Divine Being is splendid. There mere idea of a powerful personal Helper is harmonizing and it makes people express erudition in this colorful and animated World. #RyanPhillippe 1 of 11
The idea of the vital unity of the family of humankind is the reality of human fellowship. Rationality is inherent in nature. It is a logical order and is a procedure to order our objects of thought in a logical way. There is a necessity for such a procedure. The rational order is independent of human or supernatural mind. By no amount of reasoning can we altogether eliminate all contingency from our World. The Universe is ultimately what it is, and contingency cannot be eliminated. And by contingency, the World contains an irrational element in the sense that all form is the form of something which cannot be reduced to from alone. Although the essence of particular things is their invariant relations, our knowledge of these is only probably. Only in logic or in mathematics can we attain certainty; in the World of facts our knowledge is only probable, for we cannot prove that the opposite of a given factual statement is absolutely impossible. Every choice logically involves a principle of decision and the primacy of the feeling or perception of the demands in the actual cause before us leads us to believe that we may have an ethical system that is rigorously logical and at the same time richly empirical. #RyanPhillippe 2 of 11
Such an ethics must be grounded in what human beings desire and believe, and yet its primary condition must be the logical analysis of judgment as to what constitutes right and wrong, good and evil—an ethic that is the rational formulation of our ends. No statement can be known to be true until it is known to cohere with every other statement of the system; where the system consists of all true statements, such knowledge is unattainable. In practice, we sometimes reject as false an ordinary person’s assertions—for instance, that he saw a ghost—or even a scientist’s results—for instance, in experiments on extrasensory perception—on the ground that they do not cohere with the other common-sense or scientific views that we also hold as true. God has an infinite, all-productive mind. The fallen people are creatures diseased in their will and they take a tragic alienation from God in the area of moral significance and socioeconomic relationships, and the external actions of everyday public association. The individual’s experience, who believes in God, inevitably becomes a form of theosophy. #RyanPhillippe 3 of 11
Religion is the highest exercise of the human spirit, and philosophy is a kind of rational prolegomenon that prepares the way for human’s fuller appreciation of their relationship with God. God of powers, who is by His invisible strong power and great wisdom has created the World, and by His glorious counsel has surrounded His creation with beauty, and by strong word has fixed the Heavens and laid the foundations of Earth upon the waters, and by wisdom and providence has bestowed upon us a blessing of glory and joy, if we should only keep the commandments of God which we have received in great faith. God is freedom and immortality. The unconditioned must be conceived, apparently, as a primeval synthesis of subject and object, consciousness and nature, in the self-consciousness of God. In God or Spirit lies the identity of the two, of being and knowing in the “absolute I AM.” Thus, nature and the minds are to be conceived as two dialectical opposites resulting from God’s free act of self-alienation in becoming self-conscious. Do not thus reason with yourself, but with all your heart turn to the Lord and ask Him without doubting, and you will know the multitude of His tender mercies; that He will never leave you, but fulfill the request of your soul. #RyanPhillippe 4 of 11
God is not like humans, who remembers the evils done against them; but God remembers not evils, and has compassion on His own creature. Cleanse, therefore, your heart from all the vanities of this World, and from the words already mentioned, and ask of the Lord and you will receive all, and in none of your requests will you be denied which you make to the Lord without doubting. However, if you doubt in your heart, you will receive none of your requests. For those who doubt regarding God are double-souled, and obtain not one of their requests. However, those who are perfect in faith ask everything, trusting in the Lord; and they obtain, because they ask nothing doubting, and not being doubled-souled. For every double-souled human, even if one repent, will with difficulty be saved. Cleanse you heart, therefore, from all doubt, and put on faith, because it is strong, and trust God that you will obtain from Him all that you ask. And if at any time, after you have asked the Lord, you are slower in obtaining your request [than you expected], do not doubt because you have not soon obtained the request of your soul’ for invariably it is on account of some temptation or some sin of which you are unaware of that you are slower in obtaining your request. #RyanPhilippe 5 of 11
I cried to find so much goodness in the World when I thought there was so little. Wherefore do not cease to make the request of your soul, and you will obtain it. However, if you grow weary and waver in your request, blame yourself, and not God who does not give to you. Consider this doubting state of mind, for it is wicked and senseless, and turns many away entirely from the faith, even though they be very strong. For this doubting is the daughter of the devil, and acts exceedingly wickedly to servants of God. Despise, then, doubting, and gain the mastery over it in everything; clothing yourself with faith, which is strong and powerful. For faith promises all things, perfects all things; but doubt having no thorough faith in itself, fails in every work which it undertakes. That faith is from above—from the Lord—and has great power; but doubt is an Earthly spirit, coming from the devil, and has no power. Serve, then, that which has power, namely in faith, and keep away from doubt, which has no power, and you will live to God. And all will live to God whose minds have been set on those such as love, forgiveness, peace, intelligence, and salvation. #RyanPhillippe 6 of 11
Since conscious life exists only through contradiction, or doubleness, the whole of nature out of which the conscious life develops must exhibit opposing forces in the reconciling and recurrence of which consists the process and mystery of production. Art is produced through that same dialectical struggles for the reconciliation of opposites that takes place between nature and mind. Art is not, then, merely imitative, but symbolic of reality. Like all symbols, it is consequently an inherent part of the process it represents; and the artist as creator, one’s consciousness being the focus of nature and Idea, matter, and form becomes symbolic of God. So, like God, the artist or Genius must suffer alienation in order to create. One needs to be in a special sense disinterested, emotionally aloof for a while from one’s subject matter and from oneself. For in the joy of creation individuality is lost. One must first eloign oneself from nature in order to return to its full effect. Just as in the cosmic struggle for synthesis, so in the microcosm of art and in the individual artist’s mind, there is an attempted fusion of conscious and unconscious forces. #RyanPhillippe 7 of 11
A state of physical well-being can create a kind of joy, in spite of the profoundest anxiety of mind. The artist achieves such fusions in virtue of one’s special psychological make-up; that is, through having one’s power of Imagination. We do not create through merely imaginary (unreal) fantasy, nor do we imagine in the sense of making or to our readers a kind of supposal, veridical or false. Imagination is related to the notion of nihilation of consciousness. The power of primary Imagination is not peculiar to poets, but is standard psychological equipment of all humans. It is the term we use for what is considered to be finite mind’s repetition in perception of God’s creative act. Synthetically perceiving and categorizing things that are not me, I become conscious of myself, and that this state of human self-consciousness is analogous to God’s own creative schizophrenia. When looking at the reality of the Universe, the Sun, Stars, Moon, Earth and Gravity, it can be seen that God has manifested delusions of grandeur and from the stand point of a mere human, it may all seem like a hallucination because it is so bizarre and beautiful. Creation displays the power of God’s unifying chaotic experience into the significant form of art. #RyanPhillippe 8 of 11
It is clear that the God creation of reality is symbolic and the instrument of talent and genius is inherent in His sense of memory and source of ideas, and in God’s ability to transcend and transform the phenomenal embodies in works of art that the inner struggles between nature and mind are temporary points of resolution. God’s Renaissance is to embody the highest powers of critical response within a framework of philosophical concepts that seemed to explain and reinforce that response rather than inhibit to destroy it. I caught the faint smell of flowers and had the wild thought that perhaps, for a brief moment, God had somehow transcended the distance between us. However, it was soon replaced by a whiff of cigarettes and raucous laughter. The Patience to wait for this vision is not the same as indifference; patience conveys the idea of someone who is tremendously strong and able to withstand all assaults. Having the vision of God is the source of patience because it gives us God’s true and proper inspiration. A person who has the vision of God is not devoted to a cause or to any particular issue—one is devoted to God Himself. #RyanPhillippe 9 of 11
To a benevolent soul, the odds is worth the throw; and though it be against one at the present, one may win it in the future. What God wants us to do is to walk by faith, and it is free. Our desire of Earthly experience draws us to rebirth, and we are born into a form that fits our nature as a glove a hand; the soul of a warrior passes into the robust form of a warrior; the soul of a poet into the sensitive body of a poet. We should live our lives by our faith in God and His Truth, both of which are unseen, both of which have eternal significance depending on what we do with them. Instead of chasing after the same things the people of this World pursue, a child of God is superior and should focus on the unseen realities such a God, Jesus Christ, Heaven, morality, purity, and the consequence of sin. So, whether we are in Heaven or on Earth, at the house, at school, at work or at the park or nightclub, we should aim to please God. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what one has done in the body, whether good or evil. The truly beneficent mind looks upon every child of sorrow as their relation, and entitled to their assistance. #RyanPhillippe 10 of 11
God, my respected teacher, abled persons and pillars of the state are the results of your painstaking cultivation on this holy day, I pay respects to you with my devoted blessing. God, thank you for (your) tolerance and encouragement. When I was perplexed in mistakes, it was you who awoke my lost heart with your kind and affectionate smile. Luster of jewelry reflects the radiance of blue sky. Beautiful dark green reflects the holy Sun. The gentle breeze makes me feel the strength of your Scriptures. God, you bring me into a colorful World, a limitless World. God, my heart is calling you and saluting you. It is you who open the window for our souls. It is you who makes us see the vast and bizarrely beautiful World, celestial body beyond the Galaxy, tomorrow and future, yesterday and all things millions and billions of years ago. Because of your love, my spirit has been enriched, my intelligence ignited as a beacon of faith. Thank you, my dear God. Mind rules the World, but what rules the mind? The Body. The body is but a passive machine, calculated for the reception and influence of those amazing faculties which are annexed to human nature. #RyanPhillippe 11 of 11
