Housing is High, Food is Expensive and People getting Rich on Blood Money
A paranoid is someone who knows little of what is going on. Despite the fact that young people have experimented with cigarettes, alcohol, and other dangerous drugs for many generations, it would be better that they did not. All recreational drug use is associated with at least some risks, and those who begin using drugs earlier are also more likely to use dangerous drugs later. The most commonly used of the depressants is alcohol, a colorless liquid, produced by the fermentation of sugar or starch, that is the intoxicating agent in fermented drinks. Alcohol is the oldest and most widely used drug of abuse in the World. Alcohol use is highly costly to societies because so many people abuse alcohol and because judgment after drinking can be substantially impaired. It is estimated that 50 percent of automobile fatalities are caused by alcohol use, and excessive alcohol consumption is involved in a majority of violent crimes, including unwanted physical sexual activity and murder. Alcohol increases the likelihood that people will respond aggressively to provocations. Even people who are not normally aggressive may react with aggression when they are intoxicated. A single deed of violence and cruelty affects our nerves more than when these are exercised on a more extended scale. Alcohol increases aggression in part because it reduces the ability of the person who has consumed it to inhibit his or her aggression. When people are intoxicated, they become more self-focused and less aware of the social situation. As a result, they become less likely to notice the social constraints that normally prevent them from engaging aggressively, and are less likely to use those social constraints to guide them. Cannabis (marijuana) is the most widely used hallucinogen. Until it was banned in the United States of American under the Marijuana Tax Act of 1938, it was widely used for medical purposes. In recent years, cannabis has again been frequently prescribed for the treatment of pain and nausea, particularly for cancer sufferers, as well as for a wide variety of other physical and psychological disorders. While medical marijuana is now legal in several American states, it is still banned under federal law, putting those states in conflict with the federal government, Marijuana also acts as a stimulant producing giggling, laughing, and mild intoxication. Because drug and alcohol abuse is a behavior that has such negative consequences for so many people, researchers have tried to understand what leads people to use drugs. Individual ambitions, expectations, and values influence drug use. College students who expressed optimistic academic values and strong ambitions have less alcohol consumption and alcohol-related problems, and cigarette smoke has declined more among youth from wealthier and more educated homes than among those from lower socioeconomic backgrounds. Drug use is in part the result of socialization. Children try drugs when their friends convince them to do it, and these decisions are based on social norms about the risks and benefits of various drugs. The use of marijuana among 12th-graders (high school seniors, generally 16-18 years of age) rose to 39 percent. And students binge drink in part when they see that many other people around them also binging. That is why stores used to always provide bags for people who bought liquor, so kids would not see it and become curious about drinking alcohol. There are a number of long-term physical and emotional effects of addiction that can easily turn a healthy man or woman into a frail shadow of their former self. The human kidney can be damaged by habitual drug use over a period of many years. Kidney failure is not uncommon among long-time users of crystal meth, heroin, and other dangerous drugs. Liver failure is a well-known consequence of alcoholism, but it can also occur with individuals using Vicodin, and OxyContin habitually over many years. Cocaine abusers and stimulant users are doing significant damage to their heart each time they use the drug. The most common conditions among addicted individuals are heart disease and heart failure. The lungs of any individual who is putting drugs they are addicted into their lungs is putting their lungs in jeopardy. Smoking crack cocaine or crystal meth damages the lungs, and so does smoking marijuana. Also, long-term drug abusers will begin to build a tolerance to drugs. Tolerance is dangerous as it causes the individual to use more and more of the drug in order to achieve the desired euphoric or stimulated states, which puts the individual at a constant risk for overdose and even death. Nothing bears so many stains of blood as gold. In Oakland, California USA so many people have built up a tolerance to drugs that they are looking for an even more potent drug to get a high from. Producers have started mixing cocaine and heroin together and they call it a “Belushi” or “Paris Hilton.” And if people overdose from the drugs you are selling, it actually makes you more popular because people are looking to overcome their tolerance. They live to get high. Because of this desire to get high, foreign drug cartels are operating in Northern California and wreaking havoc on the environment and producing marijuana tainted with toxic chemicals. Drugs are not cool. Because of the gun violence between drug dealers, people are afraid to visit the city of Oakland, California. There are so many drug related murders that no one can keep track. Homicide is the number one killer of African American men 15-34. In 2016, there were 88 homicides in Oakland. And 32 homicides as of late June 2017. The forensic anthropologist in the morgues are saying that gun violence is getting more serious, too. Instead of seeing people with one fatal gunshot, they are now coming into morgue in bullet proof vests with 12 bullets in one body, and usually end up with several people from the same gang in the morgue in the same night. Violence is a symptom of an unhealthy community. In Oakland’s drug wars, fire as well as firepower is a weapon. The Oakland fire department attributes more than 180 cases of arson to warfare between drug gangs and reprisals against slow-paying customers or residents who complained publicly about the city’s wide-open commerce in crack, a cheaper, potent form of cocaine. In Oakland, California, drugs are sold on more than 150 street corners. When people cannot pay their drug debts, and the dealer cannot find you, they will go after your next of kin. A woman who owed $50.00 to a crack dealer was dragged from her house, and thrown into the trunk of a car. After breaking one of her legs and the bones in one hand with a baseball bat, detectives report the attackers poured gasoline over her and set her on fire. With those cost of living so high in Oakland, California scientists are saying this is contributing to continuing violent crimes in parts of the city. There is a 19 percent unemployment rate in these communities, and the economy is not lifting the poor up. There is a large group of people living below the poverty line. Is there such depravity in humans as that one should injure another without benefit to oneself? The lack of education, jobs, drugs, and no affordable housing is leading to the increase in violence and crime. And that is why so many people have turned to drugs and drug dealing. People who are abusing drugs feel hopeless and depressed and they have tried to succeed, but have not been able to because they come from an unstable home, live in a violent community, do not have the resources to go to school, or suffer from a cognitive disability. So, they hustle and turn to drugs to get by and forget about life and to feel good. On the other hand, people find drug dealing lucrative and can make $50,000.00 in one weekend, so they do not want to work for $12.00 an hour when they are making more than a doctor does. However, it is very dangerous because it creates super predators. You now have cartels and drug dealers praying on other drug dealers. In places like Oakland Hills, where my father came from, people have a college degree and average household incomes of $188,000.00. However, because there is so much profit being made in the flatlands by dealers, you have to solve this problem with the youth by encouraging them to stay in school and just say no to drugs and drinking. #RandolphHarris 7 of 10
There are no devils but those which are begotten upon selfishness and reared by cunning. The bloody drug warfare has caused people in Oakland to promote this urban comeback and improve its reputation. However, just feet away from these revitalized neighborhoods, crack and other drugs can be bought in board daylight just about anywhere. The killings and the sound of gunfire are now a constant in the life of many people who live in Oakland. People are getting rich on the blood money and ruining the lives of men, women, children, animals and the environment. Bears, deer, mountain lions, and rivers are being poisoned by the marijuana grows and many of them are drying. Also, in Oakland, California, there are ten-year old kids with guns in their underwear drawers. People fear that with the rising rent in Sacramento, lack of affordable housing, increase of breweries, and all the legal marijuana for recreational use that Sacramento, California will face the same fate as Oakland, California. Housing is high, food is expensive, and gas is outrageous. People use drugs, legal and illegal, because their lives are intolerably painful or dull. Aging alone causes people to lose brain cells and mental processing speed, but there are several other causes that you have more control over. There are some adults who seems to be dumber than tar, but they are still working and the work they produce is awful, and yet they continue to still be employed. When these adults, who did drugs in their youth and have clearly lost their cognitive abilities, are hired on as partners or major parts of the firm, the level of productivity and quality of work seriously declines, and many people sit around wondering why these individuals are still employed, why do they not retire? While we cannot recognize a change in brain speed, many people do know that something has changed with their thinking. And if you sense that you are not as smart or quick as you used to be, you know it is an uncomfortable feeling. Some refer to it as “brain fog,” because they know that they used to feel smarter but the thoughts are just not coming together as quickly. What is happening is that when brain processing seed declines, you are literally thinking slower and remembering less. New information that you are presented with is not as easy to understand, and older memories are harder to recall. People who seem to enjoy their ill temper have a way of keeping it in fine condition by inflicting privations on themselves. Fewer neurons mean an additional decrease in the capacity to retain information. What is more, not only does an aging brain sometimes think slower, but drug use will also accelerate the deterioration of your brain. There is a separation between thinking and then doing. You know that you have things you need to do but you cannot quite figure out how to get them done, or you forget to take care of them. No child should have to go through life without loving parents. Every being and specifically their life belongs to God. Therefore, life is something of great importance and has meaning and significance because we are attached to some goals which we do not consider trivial and in that sense these goals are obtainable for us. In declaring that one’s life is worthwhile in the objective sense, one is saying that he or she is attached to certain goals which are both attainable and of optimistic value. To let things advance is enlightenment. Humans are outstanding because they are astonishing and extraordinary beings with amazing physical and extraordinary talents. Cognition of the magnitude of a human being allows us to enjoy wisdom, discernment, insight, discretion, knowledge, will power, conscience, love, perfectionism and management. Human life is so important that it has always attracted the attention of scholars and philosophers. The most important principle of human rights is the right to life. There are no other rights for humankind without the right to life. According to Article III of the Declaration of Human Rights, everyone has the right to life, liberty, and security of person, and this right shall be protected by law. One institution that is found in any society is the family. Family is an integral part of everyone’s house. In some societies, the common units are the small groups made up of parents and children (called nuclear or primary families) and larger groups (called the extended or secondary family), which also includes aunts, uncles, grandparents, and cousins. Before the turn of the century, most Americans and Canadians lives in extended families—either several generations within the same house, or several sub-units, each living in a nearby house. However, today, the households of most people in North American include only the nuclear family. Urbanization and the Industrial Revolution have been responsible for the change. The number of farmer decreased and the number of those in factory and office jobs grew enormously. As individual’s job became more important to them, people were more willing to move away from home town and family ties and establish an independent life. Originally, the family served as almost a self-contained society. Perhaps one of the reasons for the immense popularity of the film “The Godfather.” That sort of solidarity and support is strangely attractive to modern people in America, Canada, Europe, Africa, Russia, and Mexico, who are largely cut loose from their own extended families. What are the traditional functions of the family? They provide long-term personal intimacy and companionship, regulate sexual relations, ensure the continuance of society through birth and socialization of children, and provide economic support for dependents, and later, for the parents, through their children. If the parent models thrift, the child will be thrifty. Parents play the biggest role in our development. Mother and Fathers are essential for our mental, physical, social, spiritual, financial, educational, and career development. Parents help us in every step of our lives. They comfort us when we are babies who come into the World crying and fussing. A person can expect unconditional love from their mother and father and parents take great care of our upbringing. They help us overcome our negative attributes and insufficiencies. Parents are there to change our pampers when we wake up in the middle of the night wet and soiled. They take time off work to nurse us back to health when we are sick and take us to the doctor. Parents go out of their way to make us feel special on our birthday by showering us with gifts, balloons, cake, ice cream, hugs and kisses. A child with good parenting rarely fails in life. Love and care are essential elements to human beings. Parents gift many blessings to their children and are directly involved in their development. They share in our happiness and sorrow equally. When a kid is sad, the parent is sad, and when you are happy, your parents are happy. They love you more than you can imagine and share a psychic bond that allows them to detect your emotions when you are unwilling to express them. Without parents, it would be very difficult for anyone to have a great life. Without parents, people have an unfulfilled life. They become isolated and face more hardships in life. To light a fire is the instinctive and resistant act of humans when, at the Winter ingress, the curfew is sounded throughout Nature. It indicates a spontaneous, Promethean rebelliousness against the fiat that this recurrent season shall bring foul times, cold darkness, misery and death. Black chaos comes, and the fettered gods of the Earth say, Let there be light. What may not be expected in a country of eternal light? The three great anxieties of modern humans—the anxiety of death, that of meaningless, and that of guilt. These three forms of anxiety are three modes of response to various kinds of threats from nonbeing, threats to which existence as such is subject. Death entered the World through the fall of man. Reference here is to spiritual death which separates humans from God. Through sin it came in the beginning and so has it ever come since then. Death always comes through sin. Death has permeated the spirit, soul, and body of all people; there is no part of a human being into which it has not found its way. #RandolphHarris 1 of 11
A mind that after a long season of oblivion in pain returns to wakefulness without a keen edge for the World is much in danger of souring permanently. As a practical solution to this practical problem, theology presents God. It is therefore imperative that we receive God’s life. By participating in God, who is the infinite power to resist the threat of nonbeing, humans acquire the courage to exist fully, even in the face of such anxiety. Similarly, when a person becomes deeply aware of historical existence as full of ambiguities, one becomes filled with perplexities of despair. The Christian answer is the notion of the Kingdom of God, which is the meaning, fulfillment, and unity of history. The human situation arises out of human problems. Only humanity can stone for humanity but because sin is in one’s humanity, human’s own death cannot atone for sin, nor can angels, nor animals. Christ was a virgin and have never been married. He had that mental combination which is at once humble in the region of mystery and keen in the region of knowledge. Untainted by sin, Christ’s holy nature could therefore through death atone for sinful humanity. He died a substitute, suffered in his spirit, soul, and body on the cross all penalty of sin, and offered his life a ransom for all of the World. Consequently, whoever believes in Him shall be judged no more. Faith is an unconditional surrender to something and the willingness to recognize it as an absolute authority; an expectation that one will in some way receive a supreme fulfillment through encounter and commerce with it; a discover that everything in one’s life and one’s World is significant only insofar as it is in some way related to it; and experiencing faith as holy—that is, reacting to it with an intimate blend of a sense of awe, mystery, and fascination. #RandolphHarris 3 of 11
Every human being has such an ultimate concern, also known as faith, but the objects of the concern vary enormously. Supernatural beings, historical persons whether religious or secular, nations, social classes, political movements, cultural forms like painting and science, material goods, social status—any of these may be the object of an ultimate concern. However, orientation around a single object is a rare achievement. Most people, it would seem, have several major interests. Religious life is more than an organization of human feelings and attitudes and it involves a reference to a reality outside itself, a reference that can be validated. The doctrine of a supernatural person, like all religious doctrines, is to be conceived as an attempt to symbolize an ultimate reality, being-itself, which is so ultimate that all that can literally be said about it is that it is ultimate. Nothing can properly be of ultimate concern unless it is the ultimate determiner of the reality and meaning of our existence, and only being-itself occupies this position. #RandolphHarris 4 of 11
From the conclusion, it is only a short step to say that in ultimate concern one is always really concerned with being-itself, whether one realizes it or not. The superiority of Christianity seems itself to be in symbolic terms. Dying on the cross, as the price of sin is death, Jesus Christ, who is the basic symbol of being-itself in Christianity, underlined the fact that symbols have their significance not in themselves, but as manifesting the Ultimate. The very being human was constituted spirit, soul, and body. As it is the site of human being’s personality and consciousness, the soul is connected to the spiritual World through human being’s spirit. The soul must decide whether it is to obey the spirit and hence be untied with God and His will or is to yield to the body and all the temptations of the material World. One the occasion of man’s fall the soul resisted the spirit’s authority and became enslaved to the body and its passions. The foundation for the Christian’s deliverance from sin God provides for every believer; all may enter in. Liberation from the power of sin may be experienced the very hour a sinner accepts the Lord Jesus as Savior and is born anew. #RandolphHarris 5 of 11
It is important to recognize that sin possess power, for it enslaves us. It emits this power incessantly to draw us into obedience to its old man so that we might sin. The Old man represents the sum total of everything we inherit from Adam. We can recognize the old man by knowing what the new man is, because whatever is not of the new man must belong to the old. Our new man embraces everything that flows newly from the Lord at our regeneration. That old man was crucified with the Lord Jesus. When a true is unfolded by God, it most naturally becomes a power in a person, who then finds himself or herself able to believe. Faith comes through revelation. Without the latter the former is impossible. This explains why many do not have faith, for though they mentally understand they do not have God’s revelation. Therefore, the brethren pray until God gives us revelation so that know this in our spirit we may truly confess that our old man has been crucified with Christ. Sin will exercise no dominion over us. We must praise God for deliverance. The Lord wants us to serve Him in sincerity and truth. #RandolphHarris 6 of 11
The defeatist attitude probably arises from the fact that time always seems to be mysteriously slipping away from us; no sooner do we grasp a bit of it in our conscious than it has slipped away into the past. A spiritual relationship with God leads to freedom. Living righteously is always a genuine decision one makes to remain attentive to the presence and power of God. It is motivated by love and reverence for the One who created us. Every morning when you wake up, set aside sometime to pray and center yourself. The practice of letting your soul be fed by God’s word and praying will prepare you for the day ahead. In everything give thanks and stay determined to remain grateful regardless of what may come your way. Gratitude helps you maintain perspective on who you are in Christ and what He has given you. We must also choose to be loving people and Christ will bless your life. Clothe yourself with compassion, kindness, humanity, gentleness, and patience. Everyday is a new opportunity to for improvement. God will be glorified in it, and you will be blessed. This notion of time as something which continually slips past us is based on confusion. When confined to any creature: noting below an infinite good can afford room to stretch itself, and exert its vigor and activity. What! Is a little skin-deep beauty, or some small degree of goodness, to match or satisfy a passion which was made for God: designed to embrace an infinite good? When a soul is fixed on that supreme and all-sufficient good, it finds so much perfection and goodness, as does not only answer and satisfy its affection, but master and overpower it too. It finds all its love to be too faith and languid for such a noble object, and is only sorry that it can command no more. It wishes for the flames of a seraph, and longs for the tie when it shall be wholly melted and dissolved into love; and because it can do so little itself, it desires the assistance of the whole creation, that angels and humans would conquer it the admiration and love of those infinite perfections. We should rejoice to behold the glory of God and receive comfort and pleasure from all the praises wherewith humans and angles do extol him. It should delight us, beyond all expression, to consider, that the beloved of our souls is infinitely happy in himself, and that all his enemies cannot shake or unsettle his throne, that our God is in the Heavens, and does whatever he pleases. Behold, on what sure foundation his happiness is built, whose soul is possessed with divine love, whose will is transformed into the will of God, and whose great desire is, that our Mater should be pleased! Oh, the peace, the rest, the satiation that attends such a temper of mind! It is the nature of faith to believe God upon His bare word. One of the greatest abilities God has given each of us is our ability to believe. If you believe, you can be successful and will fulfill your God-given destiny. I pray that we understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for all who believe. Notice the power is activated only when we believe. That means right now the Creator of the Universe is just waiting to release healing, restoration, promotion, and abundance. The only catch is you have to believe. Our concept of a physical thing as a three-dimensional entity which can move and change, our concept of a physical event as a change in one or more such physical things, and our concept of physical causation as a relation between physical events is a ground-floor empirical fact that we observe things moving and changing. It is not complicated. God did not say, “If you will pray three hours a day,” or “If you will quote thirteen chapters in the Scripture, then I will do it for you.” No. God said, “If you will only believe in me and do what is righteous, I will arrange things in your favor.” When you believe, the surpassing greatness of God’s power is released. #RandolphHarris 10 of 11
In an experiment, subjects were attending to sounds which had audibly terminated, though they were still presented in the sense that the subject could still “hear” them. If we say that a sound which has audibly terminated is still present, this would be inconsistent, for “it has audibly terminated” implies “it is past.” We ought surely to describe the duration of the specious present, as the span of immediate memory for hearing, and to call this a specious present is appropriate. When you believe, God will see to it that it is taken care of. When you believe, you have the Creator of the Universe fighting your battles, arranging things in your favor, going before you, moving the wrong people out of the way. You could not have made it happen in your own strength, but because you are a believer, the surpassing greatness of God’s power is at work in your life. Let this lay a foundation in your spirit. Because you are a believer, all will be well with you. All will be well with your family. All will be well with your finances. All will be well with your health. All will be well with your career. Each young lady must learn to play certain roles, which involve a set of behaviors. Role-models are persons who have played a given role well enough or long enough to serve as a pattern to reproduce. A girl I likely to imitate the style of walking of her mother, her most important role-model. However, some behaviors are influenced by the actions of others, such a historical figures or other legendary women.
Many children, boys and girls, growing in the last decade, have been captivated by Elle Woods (Reese Witherspoon), the young woman from Legally Blonde I and II. Some have gone on to law school because of Elle Woods, others have learned what is acceptable behavior from their spouse, and many have learned to persevere through challenges to earn what they want in life, while some have learned to care more about animals.
Elle Woods is a female role model that children are likely to imitate. Thus, imitative behavior pays off, however subtle the reinforcement may be. Elle Woods has influenced how many young viewers developed their gender identity. Once children, teens, and young adults form a gender identity, a sense of belonging to a particular gender, they usually find it rewarding to display the values of those they admire.
Role models can affect how people feel about themselves. Elle Woods did not play a stereotypical role, she took control of her life, and both boys and girls seemed to admire her determination and strength. Elle Woods was very polite and forgiving, but she would not just let people take advantage of her, and she also learned to accept guidance; and learned that not everyone is nice, not everyone has your best interest in mind, but do not let that bring you down or turn you into a callous person.
When young ladies have a beneficial role model, like Elle Woods, they tend to have higher self-esteem, and do better in school and at work. When women are confident, men learn to see them as equals and have more respect for them. Elle Woods appears as a diplomate, a hero, and a nice person. Even after being used and dumped by her boyfriend, made fun of by college students, and being set up by her boss, Elle Woods still manages to meet her goals through ethical means.
Initially, no one took Elle Woods seriously, not even her parents, but a young lawyer, her true friends, her role model, and a college professor saw star quality in Elle Woods, and sacrificed a lot because they believed in her. A self-fulfilling prophecy is a prediction, which is often incorrect, that causes people to behave in ways that would make the prediction come true. It has been proven that when someone expects the best from you, that they will treat you better and this will actually help you perform up to their expectations. However, when everyone dislikes you, is jealous of you, and says and does nothing but mean things to you, it will be harder for you to reach success, but it is still possible. Do not let someone else’s nightmare of you become your reality.
Some people believe that men are smarter than women and the result of that is women underestimating their academic abilities, but in contrast boys are likely to overestimate their abilities—this was seen when Elle Woods boyfriend Warren, and many others were shocked when she got into Harvard. As the movie goes on, it is discovered the Warren’s parents had to help him get into Harvard, while Elle Woods was selected because the admission department thought that she was a great choice and had the grades to succeed in the university.
Many girls actually are interested in science, math, technology, and engineering, but once they get to high school, they may lose interest in these subject because people make them feel that women cannot be pretty and smart. Elle Woods was different, she was both smart and pretty, but the failure of a romantic relationship is what motived her to take life more seriously. She found out that people thought that she was just pretty and she wanted them to notice her beauty and academic beauty, and that is why she went to law school, saved a lot of dogs from being used as test subjects, and got a bill passed in congress.
Elle Woods shows the World that just because she is power, beautiful, and successful, does not mean she is a villain. This film, Legally Blonde, also confronts sexual harassment when a professor tries to get cozy with Ms. Woods in his office, but she rebuffs his advances, which leads to a little conflict and a misunderstanding about her character. Unlike the CBS show Supergirl, many are happy that the Legally Blonde series did not allow any violence toward women in the movies. Supergirl is a good TV show, but it is hard to watch because she gets beat up by mean over and over.
Media depictions can affect the way men and women think, feel, and behave. Girls who see women abused are more likely to be victims of abuse. Men who see women abused are more like to display violent and harassing behavior toward women. People who are harassed or abused are often more likely to be depressed, hopeless, and sometimes suicidal, and they may even feel like they are not in control of their own lives.
So even when it comes to men like Donald Trump, just because you do not like them, does not mean that it is okay to make dolls of him and beat them. Psychologist found that preschool boys and girls are likely to become aggressive after seeing violence and abuse towards inflated Donald Trump dolls, either in real life or on the news. Elle Woods is a powerful women and both men and women seem to like her, but of course some people were jealous of her success, but what was great about the film is it is not violent.
Harassment, prejudice, and hostility toward women and other demonized groups can lead to a number of physical and mental health problems, and even result in death. People who are beaten, harassed, or slandered often feel alienated, depressed, self-critical, and more like to harm themselves. Getting to know Elle Woods allows people to become more empathetic towards women and men and treat them more kindly in real life.
Because audience members, from children to adults, can be influenced by real people or fictional heroes, many applaud Reese Witherspoon for doing such a great job of playing Elle Woods. Viewers want more influential roles models like Elle Woods because she provides men and women with empowering messages about equality. This can lead to better psychological and physical health in society. Many are praying that there will soon be a Legally Blonde III, the audience wants to know how Elle Woods and doing, does she have a family, and what is her next challenge?
If it rewards you, meets a need, brings some kind of pleasure, then you tend to hang onto it. And because of a pleasure, we do again and again whatever feels good. The greatest mistake you can make in this life is continually fearing you will make one.
