The Universe is so Large, Humans so Small

Human nature is so well disposed towards those who are in interesting situations, that a young person, who either marries or dies, is sure of being kindly spoken of. As parental modeling continues to grow less absolute and young people become more independent, the peer group gains in importance as a source for modeling behavior, in fact, this is so even when meeting peer group standards, which is likely to cause parental disapproval. If a young man or woman’s concept of self, as dictated by one’s peer group, includes wearing shoulder-length hair, one will risk being rejected by one’s parents to do so. The peer group similarly influences clothing style, musical taste, dating, and other behavior. I appeal to you, people, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another so that there may be no divisions among you and that you may be perfectly united in mind and thought. We dress to project a certain image and gain a given response from our peers. If you see yourself as a tough, hard individual, who does not give a damn about anything, you will be likely to wear clothes that project that image. If, on the other hand, you want to some on as a well-groomed, capable, but cool type, you will pick your wardrobe to gain that effect. I tell you the truth; unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of Heaven. Therefore, whoever humbles oneself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of Heaven.

We even model our speech patterns as an extension of how we want people to see us. Such factors as the size of the words we use, the amount of slang, and profanity in our speech, say a lot about the image we are trying to project. Be careful not to do your acts of righteousness before men, to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in Heaven. As a child becomes an adult, his or her self-concept becomes more complex. He or she begins to recognize that there is a part of one that is distinct and different aspects of one and begins to compare one with others. In the process, oneself concept becomes divided into sub-selves. Your personal self is that part of you that gives you a sense of uniqueness as a person distinct from all others. It is the part of you that exclaims to another human being, “You will never know how I felt…,” the part that really wonders if anyone else experiences life the way you do. It is the part of you that is aware of your sensations, thoughts, and emotions. It is often called the self-image. Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience.

The personal self usually has both positive and negative aspects. Everyone needs to feel he or she is unique, unusual person without whom the World would not be complete. However, equally, an individual needs to feel that he or she is like others—not so different as to be an outcast. If an individual thinks he or she is too different, that person may develop a sense of alienation or loneliness. One may not be as different as one thinks he or she is. However, if an individual is alienated from others, that person probably has no way of finding that out! If you can get close to another person you trust and share your inner picture of yourself, that is a good way to stop feeling lonely. Suppose I say to myself, “What a weirdo I am! Nobody else feels this way!” Then one day, I find another person who has had exactly the same feelings. I breathe a sigh of relief: “I am not as strange as I thought, or at least there are two of us!” The paradox is that the lonelier I am, the less likely I am to have such as experience. There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but the same God works all of them in all people.
Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. To one there is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, to another the message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, to another miraculous power, to another distinguished between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and still another interpretation of tongues. All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he gives them to each one, just as he determines. As children, we gradually and sometimes painfully go through the process of learning proper social rituals for interacting with other people. Your social self is a product of your awareness of how to present yourself to other people. A child soon learns that some behavior is more socially acceptable and more effective at meeting one’s needs through others. For example, one learns rapidly the magic of saying please when one wants a piece of cake and thank you when one gets it. So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. Do not cause anyone to stumble, whether Jews, Greeks or the church of God—even as I try to please everybody in every way. For I am not seeking my own good, but the good of many, so that they may be saved, follow the example of Christ. The social self is the image we present publicly to other people, hoping they will see us as polite, well-bred, thoughtful—and blessed.

One problem is that, in order to project this image, we may sometimes feel compelled to do or say things we do not really feel. This can turn into a sort of game that actually keeps us from communicating with people. Do not let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and purity. Do not neglect your gift. Some people feel that polite or socially acceptable behavior is false, phony, plastic. And indeed, a gap may exist between how an individual feels and how he has to present himself socially. Theoretically, we may realize that everyone has the right to express his real feelings. However, in practice, we probably all feel many things that we are afraid to express because of the possible consequences. One of the major differences between humans and other animals is man’s ability to think about one’s feelings and inhibit one’s own behavior. If you are going through a time of discouragement, there is a time of great personal growth ahead.

Real Estate More Dangerous than Online Dating?

Being a real estate agent could be more dangerous than creating an online dating profile, with your address, phone number, photo, and times you will be at home, online because people know you have assets, a car, credit cards and cash, and they could just be coming to the open house to rob you.
As a real estate agent, you market yourself, post your pictures for the public to see and talk about your education, and this could attract stalkers, which is extremely dangerous considering 60 percent of agents are female. In the past decade, about 20 real estate agents that we know of have been killed in the United States of America.

Real estate agents put themselves in danger everyday by meeting new clients, letting these strangers know person details about them, allowing strangers in their car, and holding open houses, but these agents have no formal security training, so they are opening themselves up to strangers.

Entering foreclosed, vacant and small homes may attract unexpected house guest such as homeless or looters. It is recommended that if you are meeting a new client, for the very first time to meet them in the office. Also, tell people where you are going and always inspect their exterior of the property first and be ready for anything.

Elk Grove, California is a prestigious city, located in Sacramento County. It is a beautiful suburb, with many employed families, several schools, churches, and parks, and a sense of community. On 8 January 2015, a man handcuffed a female real estate agent, as she was showing him a home, in this premiere community. It seems that the agent made an appointment with the suspect, and during the interaction, the suspect produced a handgun, threatened the real estate agent, then handcuffed her, before letting her go.

According to the police, no crime like this has ever happened in that suburb of Elk Grove before. However, in Little Rock, Arkansas, Beverly Carter was kidnapped while showing a home. Tragically, her body was founded in a shallow grave four days later. A husband and his wife was arrested, accused of kidnapping her for random and then murder. Other real estate agents have shared their stories about being hit over the head, as blood pooled on the floor, and some have been sexually assaulted. There are no devils, but those which are begotten upon selfishness and reared by cunning.

Is He in Heaven or on Vacation?

As I was in a morning meeting, I witnessed two of the boys talking and the subject matter of their conversation really caught my attention. Ryan and Dale walked into my office and sat down. Ryan asks Dale, “Where is your father?” “My father is on vacation, Ryan.” “But Dale, he has been going a long time and I do not feel like he is coming back, I’m going to ask your mother.” So Ryan leaves the office, and goes next door. The walls are so thin, we could hear them talking. Ryan asked Dale’s mother, “Where is Dale’s dad?” Dale’s mother replied, “He is in heaven.” All the sentiments of Worldly grandeur vanish at that unavoidable moment which decides the destiny of men. Bereavement (the loss of a friend or relative to death) can make a person feel vulnerable or worthless. It typically changes one’s views of the World and the future. Understandably, when you lose someone you love, there is a lot to work through emotionally. After I heard the conversation, I took it upon myself to interview Dale and his mother, Shannon. The interview follows. It was a warm, joyful, day. Dale was at a birthday party, when his mother Shannon got a phone call that her husband was deadly ill and, in the hospital, and had days to live. This floored Shannon because she and her husband had not been separated that long, and they were best friends.

So she quickly grabbed Dale, they left the party and went to the hospital. When they got there, Shannon’s husband, Dale senior, was in a hospital bed, could barely speak and his female “caretaker” was there, looking extremely upset. Something was wrong, the vibe in the room was off. The doctor then comes in and lets them know that Dale’s father had maybe three days to live and that if they wanted to take him home, they could, so he could die in peace, and not in a cold government institution. Shannon was already in a new relationship, and she knew Dale wanted to take his father back to their house, but both of them also know this would make Shannon’s new man friend uncomfortable because it was a house they bought together. So they caretaker knew this and had Dale shipped off to her house. Dale Jr. was upset and confused and worried about his father and his future, “Why did no one tell me my dad was dying, I could have spent more time with him and made sure everything was taken care of, but like a jerk, I was studying for finals?!” So Dale’s father went to the caretaker’s house, her name was Sue. Sue had Dale Sr’s hospital bed placed in the family room, and no one, but her friends and family and Dale was there. Dale’s father slipped him a note and said make sure you ask them about my CD (certificate of deposit), and let his son know that he would still financially support him with the benefits from a life insurance policy.

A few hours went by and Dale’s father could not talk and was having problems breathing. Sue’s husband came down stairs and yelled at Dale, “He (your father) is scaring the kids. And, I am your new daddy and sue is your new mother and you are not getting any money.” Then Dale turned his back, and his father started grasping for air and then suddenly died. Sue’s cousin came into the room and said, “Look, someone pulled the breathing tube out, tell them you know.” Dale went over to Sue and asked her what happened, Sue balled up her fist and got hostile and said, “My husband has money!” Then the corner came, and Dale cried as they put his father in a body bag and wheeled him out of the house. Sue’s brother replied, “Something wrong with that boy, why he cryin’ for no reason?” Little did Dale and Shannon know; their universe would be irrevocably changed. The Death or her husband and his father was like tsunami rushing in and ripping their lives apart. Dale’s father had survived the Vietnam war, agent orange and Hodgkin’s Disease (which he was told would kill him 3-5 years after the war, and that he would never be able to have kids). Dale’s father was cut open from his throat, down his chest and to his sternum to remove the cancer, and it was successful, but he always had limitations because of the damage done to his body, but Dale Sr. never let his kids know that and kept working to support them.

So anyway, back to the death of Dale’s father. Sue would not let Dale’s son have any part of the funeral, and she even put pictures of her family in the obituary, but not Dale or his biological children. Not only that, but Sue took all the money, did not give his kids any, and added on to her house. To make matters worse, Sue even called the auto insurance company and reported that Dale was using his dead father’s policy, so the insurance company contacted him and let him know that he needed to get his own policy; no big deal. However, the father was handling the boy’s financial business, he was just supposed to go to college and get a good job. You see, because of his father’s service in the war, and the cancer, Dale was born with a birth defect, and after the doctor’s operated on him, they damaged his nerves, so the father knew his son would need a desk job, which paid well, so he could work and take care of himself, without depending on anyone. However, after his father passed, at the young age of 56, Dale’s life fell apart. He had to drop out of school and his medical conditions, because of mistakes made by some doctor’s got even worse. To top matter off, Dale has been slandered and harassed by several reporters, who have spread vicious lies about him, so even if he could find a job, which he could do, it is likely that he would not be hired because of the reputation he has.

So now Dale is stuck living somewhere would people physically attack him and make fun of him because he has a medical condition, which limits his physical activity. To make matter worse, they keep threatening to cut off his financial support, leaving him homeless, and no one is doing anything to stop these beasts from attacking the young man. The community is well aware what is going on, but authority figures pretend to have no clue as to what is happening. So this young man is stuck praying that his life gets better, he recovers and that he does not end up homeless. Dale has no one to turn to for anything and is doing the best he can. The reporters, who slandered the young man, their employers know, but will not to anything to resolve the matter, they just keep letting their employees act crazy and pretend not to know what is happening. Dale’s neighbors all talk about him and make life hard on him. Dale has not told anyone, but the community members are aware what happened to him, who did it and how he is treated, and they are all tired of it. People are very protective and supportive of Dale, but clearly, he needs to be compensated for the things these reporters and others did to him to make his medical condition worse. The devil used to say that it was better to reign in Hell, than to be a valet de chamber in Heaven. For this young man, life is a lot like being stuck in an abusive relationship with nowhere to go and no one to turn to for help. All he can do is pray and hope that God will save him before he ends up on the streets or dead.

There is no human institution, however wise and salutary in its natural effects, which the depravity of man cannot pervert to the most pernicious purposes. Everyone is just happy that Dale has a supportive and loving mother, after what he has been through, he is lucky to be alive, and if not for her, Dale probably would not be with us today. Dale recalls his father being like, “Superman. He was always strong, loving, kind, caring and hard working. He was gentle, but intense. Always looked for the benefits in life and loved his children more than anything in the World, especially considering they were never supposed to be born and he was not supposed to live long enough to even meet them, let alone raise them. So be thankful for your parents and for your job. Some people are unemployable. He has some physical limitations that got worse. It is rare, but people sometimes burn others, ruin their reputation so no one will want to deal with them or help them. However, remember, to deny a man the preferment which he merits, and to give it to another man who doth not, is a manifest act of injustice, and is consequently inconsistent with both honor and honesty. So here is the back story on the young man all these reporters are teasing, and it is even more complex than I can let you know. However, these reporters see nothing wrong with teasing a private citizen and airing and distorting his business. It is like the reporters are mentally disabled and lack common sense, and for some reason, their corporations keep acting like they are clueless. Maybe there will be a happy ending, maybe Dale’s father is truly on vacation and will come back to save his son?

The City of Trees, Love, and Peace

Heavenly Father, I invite you now to come into my life afresh. I give back all the areas of my life that I have dedicated to sin since receiving Jesus as my Lord. I ask you to take them and purify them, renewing them for your purposes. Lord please remove any pride or lust that may be rooted in my heart. Please wash my heart with your living, purifying water. Father, I pray that you will fill me anew with your Holy Spirit and set me apart to do your work in the world. Hearken my ears to your Spirit’s voice and draw my eyes to your Word in the scripture each day. I pray this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Amen. Neath this tall pine, that to the zephyr sways and murmurs low, mayst thou recline, while near thee cooling waters flow. This flute of mine shall pipe the softest song it knows to sing, and to thy charmed eyelids sleep will bring. Virtue, to men thou bringest care and toil; yet art thou life’s best, fairest spoil! O virgin goddess, for thy beauty’s sake to die is delicate in this our Greece, or to endure of pain the stern strong ache. Such fruit for our soul’s ease of joys undying, dearer far than gold are home or soft-eyed sleep, dost thou unfold!

It was for thee the seed of Zeus, Stout Herakles, and Leda’s twins, did choose strength-draining deeds, to spread abroad thy name: Smit with the love of thee Aias and Achilleus went smilingly down to Death’s portal, crowned with deathless fame. Now, since thou art so fair, leaving the lightsome air. Atarneus’ hero hath died gloriously. Wherefore immortal praise shall be his guerdon: His goodness and his deeds are made the burden of songs divine sung by Memory’s daughters nine, hymning of hospitable Zeus the might and friendship firm as fate in fate’s despite. Saint Michael, the Archangel! Glorious Prince, chief and champion of the heavenly hosts; guardian of the souls of men; conqueror of the rebel angels! How beautiful art thou, in thy heaven-made armor. We love thee, dear Prince of Heaven! We, thy happy clients, yearn to enjoy thy special protection. Obtain for us from God a share of thy sturdy courage; pray that we may have a strong and tender love for our Redeemer and, in every danger or temptation, be invincible against the enemy of our souls. O standard-bearer of our salvation! Be with us in our last moments and when our souls quit this earthly exile, carry them safely to the judgment seat of Christ, and may Our Lord and Master bid thee bear us speedily to the kingdom of eternal bliss. Teach us ever to repeat the sublime cry: “Who is like unto God?” Amen.

O pure and happy spirits whom the Almighty selected to become the Angels and Guardians of men. I most humbly prostrate myself before thee to thank thee for the charity and zeal with which thou dost execute this commission. Alas, how many pass a long life without ever thanking their invisible friends, to whom they owe a thousand times their preservation! O charitable Guardians of those souls for whom Christ died, O flaming spirits, who cannot avoid loving those whom Jesus eternally loved, permit me to address thee on behalf of all those committed to thy care, to implore for each of them a grateful sense of thine many favors and also the grace to profit by thine charitable assistance. O Angels of those happy infants who are as yet “without spot before God,” I earnestly beseech thee to preserve their innocence. O Angels of youth, conduct them, exposed to so many dangers, safely to the bosom of God, as Tobias was conducted back to his father. O Angels of those who employ themselves in the instruction of youth, animate them with thy zeal and love, teach them to emulate thy purity and continual view of God, that they may worthily and successfully co-operate with the invisible Guardians of their young charges. O Angels of the clergy, of those “who have the eternal Gospel to preach to them that sit upon the earth,” present their words, their actions and their intentions to God, and purify them in that fire of love that consumes thee.

O Angels of the missionaries who have left their native land and all who were dear to them in order to preach the Gospel in foreign fields, protect them from the dangers which threaten them, console in their hours of discouragement and solitude, and lead them to those souls who are in danger of dying without Baptism. O Angels of the infidels and pagans, whom the True Faith has never enlightened, intercede for them, that they may open their hearts to the rays of grace, respond to the message delivered by God’s missioners and acknowledge and adore the one true God. O Angels of all who travel by air, land or water, be their guides and companions, protect them from all dangers of collision, fire, and explosion and lead them safely to their destination. O Guardian Angels of sinners, charitable guides of those unhappy mortals whose perseverance in sin would embitter even thine unutterable joys, wert thou not established in the peace of God! Oh join me, I ardently beseech thee, in imploring their conversion! And thou, O Guardian Angels of the sick, I entreat thee especially to help, console and implore the spirits of joy for all those who are deprived of health, which is among God’s most precious gifts to man. Intercede for them, that they may not succumb to despondency or lose by impatience the merits they can gain in carrying with resignation and joy the cross which Christ has laid upon them as a special token of His love.

O Angels of those are at this moment in the agonies of death, strengthen, encourage and defend them against the attacks of their infernal enemy. O faithful Guides, holy spirits, adorers of the Divinity, Guardian Angels of all creatures, protect us all; teach us to love, to pray, to wage combat on earth, so that one day we may reach Heaven and there be happy for all eternity! O Angels of those who are lingering in Purgatory, intercede for them that God may permit thee to bring them some balm; console them that they may know that we are praying for them and that we ask thee to join in our entreaties. Negativity is washed away. I am renewed as of today! Many heads will turn my way, the ones I chose will wish to stay. I am blessed, I am loving, I am loved and love myself! I am love! Beautiful Goddess, powerful God, hear my prayer! Lords of fire, burn my desire, times three. If it is meant to be, Bring strong love back to me. If there be a perfect match, this work tonight will surely catch the perfect one who is meant to be, shall find His/Her way home to me. In perfect love and perfect trust, I send this out, but not from lust. This spell will guide us to unite, free will remains with us tonight. All good that a person does to another returns threefold in this life; harm is also returned threefold.” Encourage love by sending it out freely. Elementum recolligo huic locus. Commodo mihi vestri vox. elementum unda ego dico vos. permissum pluit. is est meus nos sic vadum is exsisto.

Money, Money, Come to me, bring me what I want to see, Purify, Energy, Goodness for all, this is my will, so mote it be. With this one strand of hair, I will get wealthy because it is fair, I invoke the spirits and want to say, I need money, O I need it today. The next time you say it, stare at the white candle, then the blue, then the red, then the gold/yellow. I will be wealthy, I will be healthy, with this strand of hair, I will get my money, and it will be fair. Carry the strand of hair with you always. Blessed Be!!! Sacred flames, carry these energies away, let my relationship begin anew today. God and Goddess above, help me reunite with my love, bring us loving harmony and peace, may the strength of our bond increase. So mote it be. I always want the perfect one to be my best friend, but I do not have a chance with him/her and I always liked to. So please hear my plea! I always wanted to be his/her best friend. Great Goddess of day and night, protect me with all your might. In this place and in this hour by the guardians of the secrets of the night take the keys to my heart and close the doors of my mind. The breath of life and the light of my mind creates an enchantment of protection and comfort. As the air I breathe is purified I surround myself with an orb of gold, this golden haze is constantly purified and separated from any negativity may my space be protected. For clearer sight, for clearer mind a symbol of myself I will find. Universe, Spirits, Angels and Guides receive my eternal gratitude for all that is.

I ask for clearer guidance, as I will listen with a sharper ear, may this talisman heighten my intuition to receive your messages more clearly. So mote it be. Father God, I surrender myself to your will today. I ask forgiveness for any sin I have committed and plead the Blood of Jesus Christ over my sin. Father, I ask that you will fill me with the knowledge of Your will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding today. Please quicken my mind to Your Word today as I read it, and reveal the truth that will set me free. I pray that You will empower me to bear fruit in every good work I do, grow in the knowledge of You and be strengthened with all power according to Your glorious might. Father, I pray for great endurance and patience in walking with You. I joyfully give thanks to You for qualifying me through Jesus to share in the inheritance of Your kingdom. I could never have earned it, and you gave it to me as a gift through Jesus. Thank You so very much! In Jesus Name I pray, Amen. Father I pray that you will come into this man’s heart and I ask Father that he will live for Your will and not his own. I pray that You father will show him the love and the joy that you have for us. Father I thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and for being risen again Lord for you are alive I praise you Lord for this man. In Jesus name I pray amen.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

The secret of the heart is its pressing love of self. Often times when we visit a new place, one may be intimidated. However, the advantage of travel is by seeing a great deal of both people and manners; it teachers us mutual respect; and mutual respect teaches us mutual love. Sacramento, California is very impressive because everything looks so new and shiny and clean. The city is so big, and there are a lot of trees; and a very nice river where you can go hiking and rafting, or fish for fresh salmon. If you are lucky, you may see a deer or a cotton tail rabbit. Everything that is possible, is possible. A good place in possession is better than one in expectation. The homes are all nice, and many of them are oversized, and the houses have emerald green lawns that you can run your hands through, or there is nice landscaping to conserve water. The city basically looks like a forest with houses and businesses. There are also a lot of wonderful and historical landmarks in Midtown Sacramento, and a very nice rose garden at the State Capitol Castle of California. If you want, you can literally spend hours or days just wondering around looking at the beauty. There is no such thing in a civilized society as self-support. The people in Sacramento, California are very friendly and warm. They like to be social and talk, which is really nice when you come from a big city where the people are busy and cold. The middle of the downtown area holds gems often overlooked by those who jet to the nightclubs, mountains, or head to the coast to get away from it all. A poet never kept a secret yet.

One of my favorite restaurants is in Midtown Sacramento, called Paesanos, and it is an Italian restaurant, located at 1806 Capitol Avenue, Sacramento, California 95811. My favorite cuisine is spaghetti and they make one of the best pizzas I have ever had. When you dine with them, no matter how much you are spending, the staff will treat you like royalty. The interior of Paesanos is dimly lit and kind of romantic, with a lot of dark and neutral tones. And, Paesanos also has an outdoor eating area, which is pretty big, and you can enjoy the Victorian mansion and its roses, as you sit on the patio of the restaurant and have something to eat. With Valentine’s Day coming up, I would recommend taking your date to Paesaons, the prices are reasonable, and after you eat, you can tour the State Capitol, the rose garden, walk around and experience some of the shops, tour the Stanford or Governor’s Mansions, or even hope on over to J street and enjoy the nightlife. To every philosophy are certain rear parts, very important parts, and these, like the rear of one’s head, are best seen in reflection. If you really want to get away from it all and go somewhere nice and romantic, a trip to Sacramento, California may be in the cards for you. Sacramento is hidden in Northern California, when you come here and tour Midtown, you will feel like you are a character in a fairy tale. And the suburban communities in Sacramento, Elk Grove, and Roseville are like the homes you would see in Leave it to Beaver. This is a great place to raise a family, go to college, or retire. It is like a mixture of the Midwest and New York.
Oh, and by the way, if you happen to like Vietnamese food, please check out one of my favorite restaurants called Viet Hoa. Viet Hoa is family own, very clean and the staff is friendly. The food is also reasonably priced. Viet Hoa is located at 4805 Laguna Blvd, Elk Grove, CA 95758, and that is in Sacramento County. The phone number is (916) 428-4295. My favorite dish on the menu is I believe the number 33, which is, if I recall correctly, a really good egg roll, rice noodles, charbroiled chicken and a nice sauce that goes with it. You have been everywhere else and tried everything else, so why not give Sacramento a chance? You may fall in love with what you see. I never give up on anything that I choose to do. Heaven is above all. The curtain of our fate is still undrawn. How brilliant and tender is the moon on the night of Valentine’s Day. In this silvery World, the white snowflakes are my missing and blessing for you. I wish you to stretch out your hands and accept my best wishes. May the flower of happiness be fragrant in your future days. May floating thoughts turn to colorful stars and sparkle in your dreams every night. You are water, blue with waves and ripples, in the clear spring, flowing happily. You flow into my heart, like spirits and leave me feeling intoxicated. The World smiles when you smile. My heart is waiting and waiting. I love the lilac you presented me with, and I miss you, every second, every minute, in every day. I dream of you, every second, every minute at night. I have been laughing with you, full of tender feelings; I have gained your elation which only loves gives you. If you are the beautiful seashore, I will be the tidal wave at your foot. The white wave is the love song sung for you and the colorful seashells are the poetic lines composed for you. Whether on the ebb or flow, the sea and shore are always together. Our deeds determine us, as much as we determine our deeds. Heaven at distance does not attract us so forcibly as a fool’s paradise, in sight. Love is the soul of harmony, the connecting chain that links the whole frame of being; it is the glory of nature, and the very perfection of humankind. As soon as a man awakens a woman’s passions, she begins to idealize him and there is no limit to the virtues he will be made to carry. A real passion is too mighty for words. No misery can equal the struggles of a virtuous mind wishing to act in a manner becoming its own dignity, yet carried by passions to do otherwise. Virtue alone is true honor, true freedom, and solid, durable happiness.

Explanations take such a Dreadful Time

Since like and thought began, experience, that unvarying and rational order of the World, has been the appointed instrument of man’s training. Extremes inevitably meet. The bear can dance, and the money, which is one of the most sportive, if not the most formidable, is one of the most malignant of the wild tribes of the forest. A frivolous people are apt to be a savage people; and the most desperate Indian warriors prefer the looking-glass worn about their necks to any other ornament. There lurks an elusive something in the innermost idea of whiteness, which strikes more of panic to the soul than that redness which frights in blood. It is the fate of most men who mingle with the World, and attain even the prime of life, to make many real friends, and lose them in the course of nature. It is the fate of all authors or chroniclers to create imaginary friends, and lose them in the course of art. Poetry is not dead, nor genius lost; nor has Mammon gained power over either, to bind or slay: they will both assert their existence, their presence, their liberty and strength. Powerful angels, safe in Heaven! They smile when sordid souls triumph, and feeble ones wee over their destruction. I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic, for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Generosity will not surly permit a worthy mind to doubt of its horrible and beneficent intentions: much less will it allow itself to shock, to offend anyone; and, least of all, a person thrown by adversity, mishap, or accident, into its protection. It is seldom that a bad person expects to be accounted good.It is the general desire of such a one to conquer the existing evil impression; but it is generally presumed that the evil impression is there. Sin is the only real color-element left in modern life. The main objection to this argument is obvious. The Ghost demands blood-revenge, and it would seem to be out of character for an agent of good to engage in such a mission. Some look upon revenge as a legitimate alternative to the punishment meted out by the law, particularly if the offended party could not expect to bring his adversary to justice by due process—essentially the situation. However, the answer is unsatisfactory. There are indeed members in society who argue in this vein, but they are rare and hardly representative, being frequently fencing-masters and almost to a man admirer of the dueling code that hard already led to a serious decimation of young bloods in France. Responsible individuals—statesmen, magistrates, and clergymen alike—unanimously condemned such conduct, and I find it impossible to believe that society, who caused the dilemma and the consequences of their choices with such moral and psychological insight, could have accepted the revenger’s code of honor.

An equally familiar and somewhat more plausible argument may also be adduced to explain the significance of the Ghost: society, like his or her fellow dramatists, did not personally regard blood-revenge as justified but followed the so-called revenge convention of the enlightened ones. Dramatic heroes were, in other words, traditionally supposed to have the right to revenge the deaths of their kinsmen, provided that they did not resort to such un-English methods as poisoning or allow their desire for vengeance to express itself in the form of indiscriminate murder, in the manner of Episcopal Priest Israel Ahimbisibwe, his wife Dorcus, and their son Israel Ahimbisibwe Jr., who were found dead in their Huston, Texas home on Monday, 2 February 2015. A maintenance worker discovered the family’s bodies covered in towels and blankets; they have been dead for some time. Police report that Isaac Tiharibondi, age 19, used a hammer to beat his parents to death, then stabbed his brother, age 5, in the neck and back. Isaac Tiharihondi was arrested at the Diamond Motel in Mississippi on Wednesday Morning, 4 February 2015. Isaac Tiharihondi reported to family and friends that he had planned to join the Marines, however, his parents did not believe him and planned to confront him just hours, prior to their murder on 29 January 2015, the day police believe that they were killed. A neighbor recalled seeing Isaac Tiharihondi and asking him why his little brother did not make it to school, Isaac told the neighbor that the boy was not feeling well, but he was already dead.

Family friend, Nancy Taylor, took the teen out to lunch, on the day that he may have murdered his family. There was absolutely nothing in his demeanor that was out of the ordinary, he could not have been more pleasant, more sweet, more fun. It saddens me to think that there was something terribly, psychologically wrong. Isaac Tiharihondi must have had a psychotic break. Isaac Tiharihondi has been charged with two counts of capital murder and is due to head back to court in days. The tradition, however, is by no means so simple. True enough, from 1592 to 1607, we have at times looked deceptively like a stage debate on the question of the justification of revenge, but in no completed reality, a product which it is very difficult to take seriously, would I say that revenge is presented as justified beyond doubt. Somewhere in the execution of his duty, the revenger seems to go wrong and develop into a creature that must not be allowed to survive. Thus, no matter how closely society considered himself obligated to follow his sources—which do accept revenge as the order of nature-it is a demonstrable mistake to say that he had to follow a strong dramatic tradition. First, Isaac Tiharihondi did not have to and, second, the tradition was rather in the opposite direction.

This argument would seem to lead to an unpleasant conclusion: Isaac Tiharihondi attempt to test the Ghost’s veracity ends in a failure to discover the truth; the Ghost is actually the devil’s emissary, and Isaac Tiharihondi follows the advice of the devil when he plans and finally executes his revenge. However, this, I would say, is only apparently so; the real situation is different. In the tragedy Isaac Tiharihondi does not concern himself with the question whether blood-revenge is justified or not; it is raised only once and very late by the protagonist and never seriously considered. The dramatic and psychological situation rather than the moral issue is what seems to have attracted Isaac Tiharihondi, and he chose to develop it, in spite of the hard-to-digest and at times a little absurd element it might involve. Psychotic disorders are characterized by hallucinations and delusions, social withdraw, and a retreat from reality. Psychosis, which tends to be severely disabling, may lead to hospitalization. At times, psychotic persons cannot separate their hallucinations from reality. In addition, their ability to control their thoughts and actions is severely impaired. Here is what a young college student, who became psychotic told his father: It is the strangest things. I hear voices, hundreds of them, telling me that everyone wants me dead. It is like all the radios of the World are blaring all the stations at once, and it does not stop. It jams my brain.

Politeness, even to excess, is necessary on men’s part, to bring us to listen to their first addresses, in order to induce us to bow or necks to a yoke so unequal. Schizophrenia, delusional disorders, and some mood disorders include psychotic symptoms. Psychotic symptoms may also accompany medical problems (such as brain diseases), drug abuse, and other conditions. Since the nature of the Ghost remains ambiguous and there is no safe association between Isaac Tiharihondi and the devil or between Isaac Tiharihondi and God, we have to rely on the impression that his opponents make on us, on first appearance and in revealing scenes together—a standard procedure, I would say, in the interpretation of any society. People seldom commit sin without intending to derive benefit from it. This is the message you heard from the beginning: We should love one another. Do not be like Cain, who belonged to the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his own actions were evil and his brothers were righteous. Do not be surprised, my brothers, if the World hates you. We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love our brothers. Anyone who does not love remains in death. Anyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life in him. There were sins whose fascination was more in the memory than in the doing of them, strange triumphs that gratified the pride more than the passions, and gave to the intellect a quickened sense of joy, greater than any joy they brought, or could ever bring, to the sense. One should never do anything that one cannot talk about after dinner.

Juno Climate Change is Real, and another Storm on its way!

While the East Coast is being pounded by snowstorms, it feels like Spring, here, on the West Coast of America, as the trees start flowering, and the temperatures increase from the 60-degree Fahrenheit range to just under 70 degrees Fahrenheit for a daytime high. We are settling with this beautiful sunshine. Nonetheless, Winter Storm Juno was an intense performance of a winter unprecedented from 26 of January to 28 January 2015, and among this time the sun made no impression whatever. Heavy snows and severe storms came at frequent intervals, rendering the train service unreliable and uncertain, hinging the airlines, causing them to cancel 8,600 flights, and stopping all motor transportation and shipments into the country of supplies of fuel and groceries. At least seven states, from Long Island, Massachusetts, Chicago, Rhode Island, Maine, New Hampshire and New England experienced extreme snow conditions, as little as a foot of snow in New York, compared to three feet in the other states, and growling winds of up to 61 miles per hour. Because of the heavy snow, all transportation became utterly impracticable and illegal because in the towns, streets were filled with solid drifts to the tops of some buildings.

Houses, cars, and crops were buried under three feet of snow, some soaked with seawater—constantly accumulating masses of snow blown back and forth by violent winds. One of the great inconveniences was the lack of electricity for lightening and heating of over 30,000 houses; families were compelled for several hours to sit in darkness and freezing cold. In the cities engineers organized themselves with more than 2,235 snowplows and cleared the roads for emergency vehicles, and while there was great hardship, there was little real suffering. Coastal communities of Marshfield and Scituate, Massachusetts seawalls did break, and the water went hurtling into homes and a torrent of water poured into the streets sweeping everything before them. The travel ban has been lifted and the commuter rail and airports are nearly back to business. However, blizzard fatigued citizens have to prepare for another storm. Several more inches of snow are expected, in Massachusetts, between 29 January 2015, to nightfall of 30 January 2015, while temperatures dip below 7 degrees Fahrenheit; with such extreme cold conditions, your body may experience some responses to cold stress, from the decrease in outside temperatures. They include peripheral vasoconstriction, which is a normal response to a drop in outside temperature.

Thermoreceptors at the body surface detect the decrease in temperatures and fires off signals to the hypothalamus. In turn, the hypothalamus sends out commands to smooth muscles in the walls of blood vessels in the skin. When the muscles contract, vasoconstriction occurs—and the bloodstream’s convective delivery of heat to the body’s surface is reduced. How effective is the response? To give an example, when your fingers or toes become cold, all but 1 percent of the blood that would otherwise flow to their skin is curtailed. In another response to outside temperature drop, smooth muscle controlling the erection of hair is stimulated to contract. This is a pilomotor response, and creates a layer of still air that reduces convective and radiative heat loss from, the body. Heat loss can be further restricted by behavioral responses—as when you hold both your arms tightly against your body. The hypothalamus is a section of the brain responsible for hormone production. The hormones produced by this area of the brain govern body temperature, thirst, hunger, sleep, circadian rhythm, moods, sex drive, and the release of other hormones in the body. When other responses are not enough to counter cold stress, the hypothalamus calls for an increase in skeletal muscle activity that leads to shivering, and these words refers to rhythmic tremors in which the muscles contact about ten to twenty times per second. Within a short time, heat production throughout the body increases several times over. Normal body temperature is about 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit (37 degrees C).

When your body’s core temperature is about 95 degrees Fahrenheit (36-34 degrees C) one will have a shivering response, increase respiration. Increase in metabolic heat output. Constriction of peripheral blood vessels; blood is routed to deeper regions. Dizziness and nausea set in. Shivering comes at a high cost of energy and is not effective for very long. Heat production also can be increased without shivering. Prolonged or severe cold exposure can lead to hormonal responses that elevate the rate of metabolism. At about 91 degrees Fahrenheit (33-32 degrees C) shivering responses stops. Metabolic heat output drops. This nonshivering heat production is prominent in brown adipose tissue, a specialized tissue of hibernating animals that become acclimatized to cold. Human infants also have this tissue; adults have very little unless they are cold adapted. For example, many swimmers, who spend six hours a day in cold water, have well developed brown adipose tissue. When your core body temperature drops to 77 degrees Fahrenheit (26-24 degrees C) ventricular fibrillation sets in. Capacity for voluntary motion is lost. Eye and tendon reflexes inhibited. Consciousness is lost. Cardiac muscle action becomes irregular. Ventricles are in the heart. A ventricle is one of two large chambers that collect and expel blood from an atrium toward the peripheral beds within the body and lungs. The atrium (an adjacent/upper heart chamber that is smaller than a ventricle) primes the pump. When ventricular fibrillation sets in, different parts of the ventricles contracts haphazardly, and the ventricles are unable to pump blood.

Loss of consciousness occurs within a few seconds and may signify impending death. Sometimes a strong electric shock delivered to the chest can stop the fibrillation and may restore normal cardiac function. When defenses against cold are not adequate, the result is hypothermia, a condition in which the core temperature falls below normal. In humans, a drop of only a few degrees affects brain function and leads to confusion; further cooling can lead to coma and death. Some victims of extreme hypothermia, children particularly, have survived prolonged immersion in cold water of even lower temperatures. However, cells that become frozen may be destroyed, unless thawing precisely controlled (this sometimes can be done in hospitals). Tissue destruction, through localized freezing, is called frostbite. Compared to the East Coast of America, the West Coast is not seeing a winter for the 2014/2015 cold season (December to February). Instead, in States like California, even in the Northern regions, which are typically cold and snowy, in the Winter, did not get any rain for January of 2015, very little snow fall in the Sierra mountains, and in the Sacramento Valley, temperatures have been above average by 5 degrees Fahrenheit to 12 degrees Fahrenheit, with daytime highs even reaching 70 degrees Fahrenheit.

Many are wondering why is California so warm, when Chicago and the East Coast are experiencing such extreme winter weather? Climate change is leading to an increase in extreme weather, floods and droughts. The arctic sea ice is already vanishing fast, and that is bad news for the climate. The problem is that actually attributing extreme events to climate change has always been challenging, which makes it more difficult to predict how weather will respond to warming. Heat waves will certainly increase. Carbon dioxide released into the air adds to the greenhouse effect, which traps more solar energy in the atmosphere and warms the planet. There is an estimated 1,672 billion tons of carbon equivalent trapped in the form of methane in the Arctic permafrost, the soils kept frozen by the far North’s extreme cold temperature. Methane is a powerful greenhouse gas—it has 20 times the warming effect of carbon dioxide—and the total amount of carbon equivalent in the Arctic permafrost is 250 times greater than annual U.S. A. greenhouse gas emissions. As the Arctic warms—which it is doing rather rapidly—there is a risk that the permafrost could become less then permanent, releasing some of that entrapped methane into the air, which would then accelerate warming, leading to more Arctic melt, more methane emissions, and so forth.

The Waters across the West Coast of North American are warmer than they have been in decades. This means more droughts for the West Coast this winter. However, the Eastern Coast of the United States of America is experiencing such dramatic cold and snowstorms due to the warm ocean temperatures. The warm water off the Eastern Coast heats the air above it and leads to the formation of atmospheric waves, drawing cold air from the northern polar region, balancing the heating over the warm ocean waters. The cold air forms a plume just to the west of the warm water. In the case of the Atlantic Ocean, this means that the frigid air ends up right over the Northeastern United States of America and Eastern Canada. And that is why the cooling effect is presenting a 30 to 50 percent temperature difference across the oceans. For instance, right now, it is 32 degrees Fahrenheit in Manhattan, New York, and currently 66 degrees Fahrenheit and sunny in Sacramento, California.

O Divine Master,
grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood, as to understand;
to be loved, as to love;
for it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen.

The Unicorn in Captivity

Some cannot any longer endure the torments of hopeless love, and, standing before the doors, keep this in mind, you have conquered, and shall no longer have to bear my importunities. Enjoy your triumph! Even when the intention is not to aestheticize the subject, as often true in photojournalism, the power of the photographer will come from its ability to focus our attention on that from which we would normally avert our eyes. Pictures can be beautiful, but must tell facts, too. The ability to aestheticize the everyday—to reveal beauty that which we normally take for granted, we must place ourselves and our camera in the right relationship with the subject, and it is in fitting the latter into the frame of the viewfinder that the problems of composition begin. If something should happen, you remain alert, wait a bit, then snap the photograph and leave with the sensation of having something. Two-dimensional surface of the photograph, the landscape yielded sometimes stunningly beautiful formal plays of line and texture. A photographer’s eye will often be halted where ordinary people see nothing remarkable. A casual gleam of sunshine or a shadow thrown across his path, a time-withered olive tree, or a moss-covered stone may awaken a train of thoughts and feelings, and picturesque imaginings.

When I have such beauty before my camera, my whole heart has endeavored to do its duty towards the subject in recording faithfully the greatness of the World, as well as the features of the community—not everyone is lucky enough to live around such natural and man and woman made beauty. The photograph thus taken has been almost the embodiment of a prayer. This media engages our lives, just as collage engages the realities of the World around it by admitting such things as the news into space of art. As art, photography became legally recognized in 1862. As Timothy O’Sullivan, one of the first great photojournalist noticed, photography is inclusive of the movement of the arts as a whole—two World collide—the World of art, leisure, pleasure, and peace, and the World of death, misery, agony, and war. My goal is to make you forget the bad and feel good, so that you can help others feel good and see the beauty in their community, which is absolutely free for everyone to enjoy. The World is supposed to seem like a special kind of tapestry, in which the weft yarns are of several colors and the weaver manipulates the colors to make a design as intricate as The Unicorn in Captivity. The idea is to fit the World into a symbolic Heavenly World, so you can see life is not that bad. There is relative isolation and silence, and it gives you some sense of the vastness around you, of limitless freedom and time without end.

Our visual experience of it is itself an assemblage, a construction of multiple points of view, not only from the photographer, but from the architectures and landscape architects, city planners, and citizens. The ritual place is an inner sanctuary….everyone has access to this space. Is there something in your life that disturbs you? Be persistent with your disturbance until you get face-face with the Lord Himself. Do not deify common sense. To sit calmly by, instead of creating a disturbance, serves as a sign of inner peace. When Jesus ask what we want Him to do for us about the incredible problem that is confronting us, remember that He does not work in commonsense ways, but only in supernatural ways. Daydreaming about something in order to do it properly is right, but daydreaming about it when we should be doing it is wrong. When our purpose is to seek God and to discover His will for us, daydreaming is right and acceptable. However, when our inclination is to spend time daydreaming over what we have already been told to do, it is unacceptable and God’s blessing is never on it. God will take the initiative against this kind of daydreaming by prodding us to action. My eyes have seen all this, my ears have heard and understood it. Why do you all repeat the same stories over and over, for decades, but do nothing to make the situation any better? You are no more than insane gossips, spreading the same rumors for entertainment. What you know, I also know; I am not inferior to you. However, I desire to speak to the Almighty and to discuss my case with God. You, however, smear me with lies; you are worthless physicians, all of you! If only you would be altogether silent and sit down. For you, that would be wisdom. Hear now my discussion; listen to the supplication of my lips. Will you speak wickedly on God’s behalf? Will you speak deceitfully to God?

Would it turn out well if he examined you? Could you deceive him as you might deceive men, women and children? If you showed partiality, God would surely rebuke you. Would not his splendor terrify you? Would not the dread of him fall on you? Your maxims are proverbs of ashes; your defenses are barricades of clay. Keep silent and let me speak; then let come to me what may. Why do I put myself in jeopardy and take my life in my hands? Though he slay me, yet will I hope in him; I will surely defend my ways to his face. Indeed, this will turn out of my deliverance, for no godless man or woman or child dare come before him! Listen carefully to my words; let your ears take in what I say. Now that I have prepared my case, I know I will be vindicated. Can anyone bring charges against me? If so, I will be silent and die. Only grant me these two things, O God, and then I will not hide from you: Withdraw your hand far from me, and stop frightening me with your terrors. Then summon me and I will answer or let me speak, and you reply. How many wrongs and sins have I committed? Show me my offense and my sin. Why do you hide your face and consider me your enemy? Will you torment a windblown leaf? Will you chase after dry chaff? For your write down bitter things against me and make me inherit the sins of others. You fasten my feet in shackles; you keep close watch on all my paths by putting arks on the soles of my feet. So man wastes away like something rotten, like a garment eaten by moths. However, I have perseverance and it is more than endurance. I have faith in my heart and integrity and combined with absolute assurance and certainty that what we are looking for is going to happen. We are being purified—every hope or dream of the human mind will be fulfilled if it is noble and of God. However, one of the greatest acts of faith in life, is the virtue of waiting for God. Once we are totally surrendered to God, He will work through us all the time. We just have to show God that our love is genuine.

Aaliyah–The Highest and Most Exalted, the Best!

I too can be brave for once, and my love is as strong as thine. What will not love discover! The Aaliyah Movie produced by Wendy Williams was not a biography, but it was a tale of love, perseverance and determination. The focus was on a young girl, Aaliyah Dana Haughton, and from day one she knew she wanted to sing, and dance and act. Aaliyah has such a light and a passion in her, she was never normal, always a step ahead. Aaliyah had the determination of a newborn baby. You know how they are born and have no idea about the World, but know they want to explore and love and smile, well, that is the essence Aaliyah possessed. As Aaliyah developed, she had a sense of maturity and wisdom, you would not expect out of a child or a young adult. She excelled in school, she knew of things much older than herself, and with such conviction that you knew she was sincere and not being sarcastic, she really and truly knew what she was talking about. For example, how when Mrs. Diane was talking about Veronica Lake, Aaliyah knew who she was off the bat, and she was an actress from the 1940s, who had her career cut short. Normally when you are recalling stuff you learned from others, you need a reminder. However, this young girl, Aaliyah, knew of Veronica Lake, as if she was a current popular actress.

This enchanting story of Aaliyah really captivated because it was about a good, solid, Christian family, who had dinner together, played together and they just shared everything and had open communication. The family was also very humble and appreciative of everything, but did not take no for an answer. I really liked how Aaliyah was just ahead of her time. She crafted her music and changed her image accordingly so the audience would accept her, and it was real! She really developed and grew right before our eyes. Now the focus of the movie was mainly on Aaliyah’s music and love life. Now when she met with Robert Kelly, he would not even look at her, out of respect for the young lady and her family. However, after working closely, the two fell in love. Robert liked her Aaliyah was just down to Earth, she was not after money, she just wanted a friend and someone to talk to and Robert could not help himself and he fell in love. It was a forbidden love because of the age difference, but the girl knew what she wanted. However, after her daddy found out what was going out, he was hot and had words with Robert Kelly, which dissolved Aaliyah’s relationship with Robert. It was a tumultuous time for the young lady—she was at a level of success others could only dream of and her tender heart fell in love for the first time, but like Juliet and Romeo, it was a love that was not allowed. Aaliyah had to split ties with Robert and it broke her heart. She lost her confidence and felt like he made her. However, Aaliyah’s mother let it be known that her daughter, Aaliyah, was young, independent and self-made. This gave Aaliyah the passion to keep going. Yet, not only did Aaliyah want to make a new album, but she also wanted to become an actress.

This time around, Aaliyah wanted a new style, and no one knows how, but she found two new producers, Missy Elliot and Timberland, and was told not to work with them, but Aaliyah clutched her strings and respectfully let it be known that she makes her own decisions, and this is what she wanted. And yet again, Aaliyah produced another platinum record. Her style went from Rhythm and Blues to a new techno hip hop, and she was the only African American and young girl out there, in the music industry and really paved the way for Britney Spears and Beyonce. Now, Aaliyah also wanted to get into acting, but before the One in a Million album dropped, Aaliyah was told by Hollywood that African Americans women were not really welcomed in Hollywood and consider being in the background in a movie. Again—respectfully, Aaliyah said, “No, I am going to be a leading star in a film.” Once again, she made it happen. Hollywood was beating down her door to put Aaliyah in a movie. Mainstream America saw her, and not only was she African American, but she was The American Dream. No matter your culture, every female could see themselves as Aaliyah and the men loved her because she was real. So Aaliyah took Hollywood by storm and landed roles in the Matrix II and III, Romeo Must Die, Queen of the Damned, Honey, Sparkle and more. Aaliyah had so many movie offers she never for to accept them all, these are just a few we know about. Hollywood had big plans for Aaliyah, and her music career was doing well, but started to wane a little because Aaliyah was calling the shots and not letting anyone talk under her skirt, so people got upset with her and would not play, “We Need a Resolution.” Not only that, but Aaliyah was so busy that people felt she was out of reach, but she was juggling, filming movies, making music videos, recording music, touring, spending time with her family and had a new romantic relationship with Damon Dash.

It was clear to Mrs. Diana, Aaliyah’s mother that her daughter was very selective, but she also knew that Aaliyah was in love with Damon, not only because he was nice to her, but he also reminded her of her first love, Robert Kelly. It broke Aaliyah’s heart when Robert got married. Nonetheless, she moved on. I really liked the movie about Aaliyah because no matter if you are rich or have a modest life, you can relate to the love story. Then when you watch Romeo Must Die, and Queen of the Damned, and her interviews, you get a full scope of Aaliyah. Another thing people loved about Aaliyah is people used to steal her material, and she would go home crying because that was her work and others were trying to pass it off as theirs and trying to steal her image, but Aaliyah realized that she was a master, and these girls and guys were her students, and she was teaching them how to be good artist, and let it go. Aaliyah was about peace, love, family, God and perseverance, and she was a great person and a full-on entertainer. And her voice and style, on every album it is different, and it is so real. How does one go from Hip Hop to contemporary music, in just seven short years? Aaliyah did every style of music you can think of, and all of her albums are really an evolution of her style. My personal favorite is the red album, self-titled Aaliyah. It is just different, edgy. However, all of her music is great, a few American favorites are: Back in Once Piece, At Your Best, Young Nation, One in a Million, Are you that Somebody, Never Giving up, I got you Back, We Need a Resolution, Never no More, More than a Woman, Whatever, What if, I Refuse, All I Need, I Care 4 U, Don’t Worry, and many more. Please check this young lady out at Aaliyah.com

Genesis–The Beginning

In the beginning, God created the Heavens and the Earth—the creation of the World is a problem naturally fitted to excite the liveliest interesting of man, its inhabitant. The ancient pagans, not having the information on the subject which we derive from the pages of Scripture, had their own way of telling the story, which is as follows: Before the Earth, and Sea, and Heaven were created, all things worse one aspect, to which we give the name of Chaos—a confused and shapeless mass, nothing but dead weight, in which however, slumbered the seeds of things. Earth, Sea, and Air were all mixed up together, so Earth was not solid, the sea was not fluid, and the air was not transparent. Now the Earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And God said, let there be an expanse between the waters to separate water from water. God and Nature at last interposed and out an end to this discord, separating Earth from the Sea, and Heaven from both. And God said, let there be light.

The fiery part, being the lightest, sprang up and formed the skies; he separated the light from the darkness, God called the light day and the darkness he called night. The air was next in weight and place. The Earth, being heavier, sank below, and the water took the lowest place, and buoyed up the Earth. Here, some god—it is not known which—gave his good offices in arranging and disposing of the Earth. He appointed rivers and bays, like the Rio Grande, which separates Mexico from the United States of America, and The Bay Area, in California their places, and raised mountains such as Chisos Mountains in Big Bend, which includes 800,000 acres. God also scooped out valleys not one of my favorites, but Sacramento Valley (the people are extremely immature and rude). Then God distributed woods such as the Olympic National Park in Washington, which has red-legged frogs, owls, 300 different types of bird, deer, glacier-capped mountains and rugged coastlines. He created fountains, such as the Kilauea Volcano, in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, and fertile fields like the bush plane on Kahiltna Glacier, and stony plains like Denali in the Arctic National Park. The air being cleared, the stars began to appear, grizzly bears began foraging for food, salmon swam in nearby Brooks Falls and Lake Clark. A bush plain lands on Kahitlna Glacier at the 7,200-foot base camp of Mountain McKinley, which is 20,000 feet tall, North America’s tallest peak. And God saw that it was good.

And God said, let the water teem with living creatures, and let bird fly above the Earth, across the expanse of the sky. So God created Glacier Bay with harbor seals. However, a nobler animal was wanted, and Man was made. God said, let us make man in our image, in the image of God, and he created him; male and female he created them. It is not known whether the Creator made him of divine materials, or whether in the Earth, so lately separated from Heaven, there lurked still some Heavenly seeds. Prometheus took some of this Earth, and kneading it up with water, made man in the image of the gods. He gave him an upright stature, so that while all other animals turn their faces downward and look to the Earth, he rises his to heaven and gazes on the stars. Prometheus was one of the Titans, a gigantic race, who inhabited the Earth before the creation of man. To him and his brother Epimetheus was committed the office of making man, and providing him and all other animals with the faculties necessary for their preservation. Epimetheus undertook to do this, and Prometheus was to overlook his work, when it was done. Epimetheus Theus accordingly proceeded to bestow upon the different animals the various gifts of courage, strength, swiftness, sagacity; wings to one, claws to another, a shelly covering to the third, etc. Large flocks of roseate spoonbills, white pelicans, ibis and even the occasional flamingo can be seen in Everglades National Park, along with alligators, lurking in the water or sunning themselves just off the well-traveled path.

Or you may see a grizzly bear cub walking through the tall grass by Brooks River. However, when man came to be provided for, who was to be superior to all other animals, Epimetheus had been so prodigal of his resources that he had nothing left to bestow upon him. In his perplexity he restored to his brother Prometheus, who with the help of Minerva, went up to Heaven, and lighted his torch at the chariot of the Sun and brought down fire to man, and as a treat we were blessed with the Aurora borealis. With this gift, man was more than a match for all other animals. It enabled him to make weapons wherewith to subdue them; tools with which to cultivate the Earth; to warm his dwelling, so as to be comparatively independent of climate; and finally to introduce the arts and to coin money, the means of trade and commerce. Woman was not yet made. The story (absurd enough!) is that Jupiter made her and sent her to Prometheus and his brother, to punish them for their presumption in stealing fire from Heaven; and man, for accepting this gift. The first woman was named Pandora. She was made in Heaven, every god contributing something to perfect her. Venus gave her beauty, Mercury persuasion, Apollo music, etc. Thus equipped, she was conveyed to Earth and presented to Epimetheus, who gladly accepted her, though cautioned by his brother to beware of Jupiter and his gifts.

Epimetheus had in his house a jar, in which were kept certain noxious articles, for which, in fitting man for his new abode, he had no occasion. Pandora was seized with an eager curiosity to know what this jar contained; and one day she slipped off the cover and looked in. Forthwith there escaped a multitude of plagues for hapless man—such as gout, rheumatism, and colic for his body, and envy, spite, and revenge for his mind—and scattered themselves far and wide. Pandora hastened to replace the lid; but, alas! The whole thing only excepted, which lay at the bottom, and that was hope. So we see at this day, whatever evils are aboard, hope never entirely leaves us; and while we have that, no number of other ills can make us completely wretched. Another story is that Pandora was sent in good faith, by Jupiter, to bless man; that she was furnished with a box, containing her marriage blessing. She opened the box incautiously, and all the blessings escaped, hope only excepted. Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God, as he was walking in the garden, in the cool of day, and they hid from the LORD God among the trees of the garden. However, the LORD God called to the man, “Where are you?” He answered, “I heard you in the garden and I was afraid because I was naked, so I hid.” And God said, “Who told you where naked? Have you opened that box I commanded you not to touch?”

Then the man said, “The woman you put here with me—she gave me some fruit and I ate it.” Then the LORD God said to the woman, “What is this you have done?” The woman said, “The serpent aroused me, and I opened the box.” So the LORD God said to the serpent (man), because you have done this, cursed are you above all the livestock, and all the wild animals. You will crawl on your belly, and you will eat dust all the days of your life. And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel. To the woman God said, I will greatly increase your pains in childbearing with pain you will give birth to children. Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you. This story seems more probable then the former; for how could hope, so precious a jewel as it is, have been kept in a jar full of all manners of evils, as in the former statement? The World being thus furnished with inhabitants, the first age was an age of innocence and happiness, called the Golden Age. Truth and right prevailed, though not enforced by law, nor was there any magistrate to threaten or punish. The forest had not yet been robbed of its trees to furnish timbers for vessels, nor had men built fortifications round their towns. There were no such things as swords, spears, or helmets. The Earth brought forth all things necessary for man, without his labor in ploughing or sowing. Perpetual spring reigned, flowers sprang up without seed, the rivers flowed with milk and wine, and yellow honey distilled from the oaks.

Then succeeded the Silver Age, Jupiter shortened the spring and divided the year into seasons. God said because you listened to your wife, and ate from the box about which I commanded you to avoid at all costs, cursed is the ground because of you; through painful toil you will eat of it, all the days of your life. It will produce thorns and thistles for you, and you will eat the plants of the field. By the sweat of your brow, you will eat your food, until you return to the ground, since from it you were taken; for dust you are and to dust you will return. Then first, men had to endure the extremes of heat and cold, and houses became necessary. Caves were the first dwellings, and leafy coverts of the woods, and huts woven of twigs. Crops would no longer grow without planting. The farmer was obligated to sow the seed, and the toiling ox to draw the plough. Next came the Brazen Age, more savage of temper and readier to the strife of arms yet not altogether wicked. The hardest and worst was the Iron Age. Crime burst in like a tornado super outbreak. All hell broke loose. Modesty, truth, and honor fled. In their places came fraud and cunning, violence, and the wicked love of gain. Then seamen spread sails to the wind, and the trees were torn from the mountains to serve for keels to ships, and vex the face of the ocean. The Earth, which till now had been cultivated in common, began to be divided off into possessions.

Men were not satisfied with what the surface had produced, but must dig into its bowels, and draw forth from thence the ores of metals. Mischievous irons, and more mischievous gold, were produced. War sprang up, using both as weapons; the guest was not safe in his friend’s house; and sons-in-law and fathers-in-law, brothers and sisters, husbands and wives could not trust one another. Sons wished their fathers dead, that they might come to the inheritance; family love lay prostrate. The Earth was wet with slaughter, and the gods abandoned it, one by one, till Astraea* alone was left, and finally she also took her departure. Jupiter, seeing this state of things, burned with anger. He summoned the gods to council. They obeyed the call and took the road to the palace of Heaven. The road, which anyone may see in a clear night, stretches across the face of the sky and is called the Milky Way. Along the road stand the palaces of the illustrious gods; the common people of the skies live apart, on either side. Jupiter addressed the assembly. He set forth the frightful condition of things on Earth and closed by announcing his intentions to destroy the whole of its inhabitants, and provide a new race, unlike the first, who would be more worthy of life and much better worshippers of the gods.

So saying he took a thunderbolt, and was about to launch it at the World, and destroy it by burning; however, recollecting the danger that such a conflagration might set Heaven itself on fire, he changed his plan and resolved to drown it. The LORD saw how great man’s wickedness on the Earth had become, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time. The LORD was grieved that he had made man on Earth, and his heart was filled with pain. So the LORD said, I will wipe mankind, who I have created, from the face of the Earth—men and animals and creatures that move along the ground, and birds of the air—for I am grieved that I have made them. The North wind, which scatters the clouds, was chained up; the South was sent out, and soon covered all the face of Heaven with a cloak of pitchy darkness. The clouds, driven together, resounded with a crash; torrents of rain fall; for forty days the flood kept coming on the Earth. The water rose greatly on the Earth, and all the high mountains under the entire Heavens were covered. The waters flooded the Earth for a hundred and fifty days. The year’s labor of the husbandman perishes in an hour. Jupiter, not satisfied with his own waters, calls on his brother Neptune to help him with his. He lets loose the rivers and pours them over the land. At the same time, he heaves the land with an Earthquake and brings in the reflux of the ocean over the shores. Flocks, herds, men and houses are swept away, and temples, with their sacred enclosures, profaned. If any edifice remained standing, it was overwhelmed, and its turrets lay hid beneath the waves.

*The goddess of innocence and purity. After leaving Earth, she was placed among the stars, where she became the constellation Virgo—the Virgin. Themis (Justice) was the mother of Astraea. She is represented as holding aloft a pair of scales, in which she weighs the claims of opposing parties. It was a favorite idea of the old poets that these goddesses would one day return and bring back the Golden Age. Even in a Christian hymn, “The Messiah” of the Pope, this idea occurs. All crimes shall cease, and ancient fraud shall fail, Returning Justice lift aloft her scale, peace o’er the World her olive wand extend, and white-robed Innocence from Heaven descend. Meanwhile, now all was sea, sea without shore. Here and there an individual remained on a projecting hilltop, and a few, in boats, pulled the oar where they had lately driven the plough. The fishes swim among the treetops; the anchor of the ark was let down into a garden. Where the graceful lambs played, but now unwieldy sea calves’ gambol. The wolf swims among the sheep, the yellow lions and tigers struggle in the water. The strength of the wild boar serves him not, nor his swiftness the stag. The birds fall with weary wing into the water, having found no land for a resting place. These living beings whom the water spared fell a prey to hunger.

Parnassus alone, of all the mountains, overtopped the waves; and there Deucalion, and his wife Pyrrha, of the race of Prometheus, found refuge—he a just man, and she a faithful worshipper of the gods. Jupiter, when he saw none left alive but this pair, and remembered their harmless lives and pious demeanor, ordered the North winds to drive away the clouds, and disclose the skies to Earth, and Earth to the skies. Neptune also directed Triton to blow on his shell and sound a retreat to the waters. The waters obeyed, and the sea returned to its shoes, and the rivers to their channels. Then Deucalion thus addressed Pyrrha: Oh, wife, only surviving woman, joined to me first by a common danger, would that we possessed the power of our ancestor Prometheus, and could renew the race as he made it. However, as we cannot, let us seek yonder temple, and inquire of the gods what remains for us to do. They entered the temple, deformed as it was with slime, and approached the altar, where no fire burned. There they fell on prostrate on the Earth and prayed the goddess to inform them how they might retrieve their miserable affairs.

The oracle answered: Depart from the temple with head veiled and garments unbound, and cast behind you the bones of your mother. They heard the words with astonishment. Pyrrha first broke silence: We cannot obey; we dare not profane the remains of our parents. They sought the thickest shades of the wood, and resolved the oracle in their minds. At length Deucalion spoke: Either my sagacity deceives me, or the command is one we may obey without impiety. The Earth is the great parent of all; the stones are her bones; these we may cast behind us; and I think this is what the oracle means. At least, it will do no harm to try. You noticed the children as not so quick to sale out their parents like Isaac so willingly did in Genesis 22.2. So Pyrrha and Deucalion veiled their faces, unbound their garments, and picked up stones, and cast them behind them. The stones (wonderful to relate) began to grow soft, and assume shape. By degrees, they put on a rude resemblance to human form, like a block half finished, in the hands of the sculptor. The moisture and slime that were about them became flesh; the stony part became bones; the veins remained veins, retaining their name, only changing their use. Those thrown by the hand of the man became men, and those by the women became women. It was a hard race, and well adapted to labor, as we find ourselves to be at this day, giving plain indications of our origin.

The comparison of Eve to Pandora is too obvious to have escaped detection. More lovely than Pandora, whom the gods Endowed with all their gifts; and O, too like in sad event, when to the unwiser son of Japhet brought by Hermes, she ensnared Mankind with her fair looks, to be avenged on him who had stole Jove’s authentic fire. Prometheus and Epimetheus were sons of Iapetus, which changes to Japhet. Prometheus has been a favorite subject with the poets. He is represented as the friend of mankind, who interposed in their behalf when Jove was incensed against them and who taught them civilization and the arts. However, as in doing so, he transgressed the will of Jupiter, he drew down on himself the anger of the ruler of gods and men. Jupiter had him chained to a rock on Mount Caucuses, where a vulture preyed on his liver, which was renewed as fast as devoured. This state of torment might have been brought to an end at any time by Prometheus, if he had been willing to submit to his oppressor; for he possessed a secret which involved the stability of Jove’s throne, and if he would have revealed it, he might have been at once taken into favor. However, that he disdained to do. He has therefore become the symbol of magnanimous endurance of unmerited suffering, and strength of will resisting oppression.

Titan! To whose immortal eyes the suffering of mortality, seen in their sad reality, were not as things that gods despise, what was thy pity’s recompense? A silent suffering, and intense; the rock, the vulture, and the chain; all that the proud can feel of pain; the agony they do not show, the suffocating sense of woe. Thy godlike crime was to be kind; to render with the precepts less the sum of human wretchedness, and strengthen man with his own mind, and baffled as thou wert from high. Still, in the patient energy, in the endurance and repulse of thine impenetrable spirit, which Earth and Heaven could not convulse, a mighty lesson we inherit. Or, like the thief of fire from Heaven, Wilt thou withstand the shock? And share with him—the unforgiven—His vulture and his rock?
