He Can Obtain these Powers Only on the Condition of Selling His Soul or Going to Hell

The real of imagination is seen as a “reservation” made during the painful transition from the pleasure principle to the reality principle on order to provide a substitute for instinctual satisfactions which have to be given up in real life. The artist, like the neurotic, has withdrawn from an unsatisfying reality into this World of imagination; but unlike the neurotic, he knows how to find a way back from it and once more to gain a firm foothold in reality. His creations, works of art, are the imaginary satisfactions of unconscious wishes, just as dreams are; and like them they were in the nature of compromises, since they too were forced to avoid any open conflict with the forces of repression. However, they are differed from the asocial, narcissistic products of dreaming in that they are calculated to arouse sympathetic interest in other people and are able to evoke and to satisfy the same unconscious wishful impulses in them, too. The more the neurotic’s irrational imagination has taken over, the more likely he is to be positively horrified at anything that is real, definite, concrete, or final. He tends to abhor time, because it is something definite; money, because it is concrete; death because of its finality. However, he may also abhor having a definite wish or opinion, and hence avoid making a definite commitment or decision. To illustrate, there was the patient who cherished the idea of being a will-o’-the-wisp dancing in a ray of moonlight: she could become terrified when looking at a mirror—not because of seeing possible imperfections, but because it brought to bear on her the realization that she had definite contours, that she was substantial, that she “was pinned down to the concrete bodily shape.” #RandolphHarris 1 of 22

It made her feel like a bird whose wings were nailed to a board. And at that time when these feelings emerged to awareness, she had impulses to smash the mirror. To be sure, the development is not always so extreme. However, every neurotic, even though he may pass superficially for healthy, is averse to checking with evidence when it comes to his particular illusion about himself. And he must be so, because if he did, they would collapse. The attitude toward external laws and regulations varies, but he always tends to deny laws operating within himself, refuses to see the inevitability of cause and effect in psychic matters, or of one factor following from the other or reinforcing the other. There are endless ways in which he disregards evidence which he does not choose to see. He forgets; it does not count; it was accidental; it was on account of circumstances, or because others provoked him; he could not help it, because it was “natural.” Like a fraudulent bookkeeper, he goes to any length to maintain the double account; but, unlike him, he credits himself only with the favourable one and professes ignorance of the other. I have not yet seen a patient in whom the frank rebellion against reality, as it is expressed in Harvey (“Twenty years I have fought with reality, and I have finally overcome it”), did not strike a familiar chord. Or, to quote again the classic expression of a patient: “If it were not for reality, I would be perfectly all right.” It remains to bring into clearer relief the difference between the search for glory and healthy human strivings. On the surface they may look deceptively similar, so much so that differences seem to be variations in degree. It looks as though the neurotic were merely more ambitious, more concerned with power, prestige, and success than the healthy person; as though his moral standards were merely higher, or more rigid, than ordinary ones; as though he were simply more conceited, or considered himself more important than people usually do. And, indeed, who will venture to draw a sharp line and say: “This, is where the healthy ends, and the neurotic begins”? #RandolphHarris 2 of 22

Similarities between healthy strivings and the neurotic drives exist because they have a common root in specific human potentialities. Through his mental capacities man has the faculty to reach beyond himself. In contrast to other animals, he can imagine and plan. In many ways, he can gradually enlarge his faculties and, as history shows, has actually done so. The same is also true for the life of a single individual. There are no rigidly fixed limits to what he can make out of his life, to what qualities or faculties he can develop, to what he can create. Considering these facts, it seems inevitable that man is uncertain about his limitations and, hence, easily set his goals either too low or too high. This existing uncertainty is the base without which the search for glory could not possibly develop. The basic difference between healthy strivings and neurotic drives for glory lies in the forces prompting them. Healthy strivings for glory lies in the forces prompting them. Healthy strivings stem from a propensity, inherent in human beings, to develop given potentialities. The belief in an inherent urge to grow has always been the basic tenet upon which our theoretical and therapeutic approach rests. And this belief has grown ever since with ever-new experiences. The only change is in the direction of more precise formulation. I would say now that the live forces the real self urge one toward self-realization. The search for glory, on the other hand, springs from the need to actualize the idealize self. The difference is basic because all other dissimilarities follow from this one. Because self-idealization in itself is a neurotic solution, and as such compulsive in character, all the drives resulting from it are by necessity compulsive, too. #RandolphHarris 3 of 22

Because the neurotic, as long as he must adhere to his illusions about himself, cannot recognize limitations, the search for glory goes into the unlimited. Because the main goal to his illusions about himself, cannot recognize limitations, the search for glory goes into the unlimited. Because the main goal is the attainment of glory, he becomes uninterested in the process of learning, of doing, or of gaining step by step—indeed, tends to scorn it. He does not want to climb a mountain; he wants to be on the peak. Hence, he loses the sense of what evolution or growth means, even though he may talk about it. Because, finally, the creation of the idealized self is possible only at the expense of truth about himself, its actualization requires further distortions of truth, imagination being a willing servant to this end. Thereby, to a greater or lesser extent, he loses in the process his interest in truth, and the sense for what is true or not true—a loss that, among others, accounts for his difficulty in distinguishing between genuine feelings, beliefs, strivings, and their artificial equivalents (unconscious pretenses) in himself and in others. The emphasis shifts from being to appearing. The difference, then, between healthy strivings, and their artificial equivalents (unconscious pretenses) in himself and in others. The emphasis shifts from being to appearing. The difference, then, between healthy strivings and neurotic drives for glory is one between spontaneity and compulsion; between recognizing and denying limitations; between a focus upon the vision of a glorious end-product and a feeling for evolution; between seeming and being, fantasy and truth. The difference thus stated is not identical with that between a relatively healthy and a neurotic individual. #RandolphHarris 4 of 22

The former may not be wholeheartedly engaged in realizing his real self, not is the latter wholly driven to actualize his idealized self. If this striving were not in him to being with, the tendency toward self-relations operates in the neurotic too; we could not in therapy give any help to the patient’s growth. However, while the difference between the healthy and the neurotic person in this respect is simply one of degree, the difference between genuine striving and compulsive drives, despite surface similarities, is one of quality and not of quantity. (“The neurotic” is the person in whom neurotic drives prevail over healthy strivings.) The most pertinent symbol, to my mind, for the neurotic process initiated by the search for glory is the ideational content of the stories of the devil’s pact. The devil, or some other personification of evil, tempts a person who is perplexed by spiritual or material trouble with the offer of unlimited powers. However, he can obtain these powers only on the condition of selling his soul or going to hell. The temptation can come to anybody, rich or poor in spirit, because it speaks to two powerful desires: the longing for the infinite and the wish for an easy way out. According to religious tradition, the greatest spiritual leaders of mankind, Jesus Christ and Moses, experienced such temptation. However, because they were firmly grounded in themselves, they recognized it as a temptation and could reject it. Moreover, the conditions stipulated in the pact are an appropriate representation of the price to be paid in the neurotic’s development. Speaking in these symbolic terms, the easy way to infinite glory is inevitably also the way to an inner hell of self-contempt and self-torment. By taking this road, the individual is in fact losing his soul—his real self. #RandolphHarris 5 of 22

If you want to have a happy marriage, it is just as important and maybe more important to do a good job of running your home and taking carer of your children. However, judging by one of the things I have read these day, it seems to be that people are forgetting that there are other things in life besides pleasures of the flesh. Why do some seem to feel that pleasures of the flesh are like recreation, something to enjoy if and when they have finished the work that must come first? A young couple go away for a vacation, leaving their children with the wife’s parents. Although neither one has said a word to the other, both husband and wife hope that having some time to themselves will be all they need to overcome the dissatisfaction with pleasures of the flesh that has arisen between them. She has been achieving climax less and less frequently, and he has been troubled by a diminished physical drive. To their delight, the vacation proves a complete success. Their problems fade away and they find themselves responding to each other with an intensity that both had secretly feared they had lost forever. When they talk about it, they agree that the explanation is obvious: because the children are not around to interfere, because he is not distracted by business matters and she is not fatigued by household tasks, they have the time and energy they need to enjoy themselves physically. Many American couples look forward to vacations for this very reason, and become reigned to the fact that when they return home, the distractions and obligations of daily life will resume and take their inevitable toll on pleasures of the flesh. #RandolphHarris 6 of 22

What they do not realize is that they are accepting without question the principle that being productive is always more important than being pleasured, that work comes before play. This assumption has its roots in the old Calvinist philosophy which took hold in this country during colonial days. The Calvinists preached that work redeemed the believer, but that indulging in pleasure, especially the pleasures of the flesh, brought eternal damnation. However, this is also what The Book of Mormon and the Christian Bible teach. So perhaps pleasures of the flesh are only for procreation, as God states, and after having kids, pleasures of the flesh should not be something that is used like a tool for fun. If the relationship was meant to be passionate for life, it would naturally be. After a while, some men are even no longer to perform, and perhaps that is the way it should be. By the time people become of a certain age, they are supposed to be look at as pure, and honorable, so they should not be engaged in intimate passions. The reason so many people have affairs is because they have come to believe that pleasures of the flesh are meant to be enjoyed and they can only find this connection by seeking out something they lust after, but do not love. In the 2024 movie, Cellar Door by Vaugh Stein, we see an example of this. A couple Sera and John marry and are trying to have a baby and Sera is undergoing In vitro fertilization to become pregnant. Meanwhile, she ends up becoming pregnant and has a miscarriage. In the process, John is having an affair with his colleague Alyssa. He tells Alyssa that he is in love with her and plans to leave his wife. However, a while late, Sera becomes pregnant and Alyssa confronts her after John refuses to divorce his wife. Alyssa reminds John that he said that he loves her, but John is so excited about becoming a father that he is not willing to leave his wife. Perhaps John was lusting for Alyssa, but knew deep down inside that pleasures of the flesh are supposed to be reserved for procreation. #RandolphHarris 7 of 22

During the process of trying to procreate, some couples, especially men may really start to enjoy it and believe that is what love is supposed to feel like. Romance, gratification, pleasure, excitement, and after a couple is with child, the man realizes his job as a procreator is complete. He enjoyed creating a life so much that he looks for this same type of enjoyment from another person, and has an affair. However, after he realizes that he truly loves his wife and that marriage and pleasures of the flesh are for procreation, he then takes his relationship with his wife more seriously because he realized that he was confused, and does not want to lose his family. However, for many, work as virtue and play as a sin proves to be an intimidating and tenacious doctrine. Since the sexual revolution, people have been taught that it is acceptable to be promiscuous and as a result, marriage rates are declining, divorces are increasing, and many people are no longer interested in keeping up their reputation or maintaining the family name and image. Also, men are conditioned to believe that love is for the weak, for wimp and that it is manly to play the field and sew their wild oats. Therefore, it is not hard to believe that any vestige of marriage being to raise a family and pleasures of the flesh being solely for procreation could persist today, four hundred years later in our affluent, leisure-oriented society. However, old attitudes and myths die hard, especially where pleasures of the flesh are concerned. Often, they may seem to disappear only to turn up again in a different guise. Men man may start to realize that…divorce is too expensive, can ruin their reputation and business and choose to accept marriage as a commitment. #RandolphHarris 8 of 22

In another film called The Revival, which came out in 2017 and is by directed by Jennifer Gerber, we see an example of how a man called Eli, chooses to honor God, his wife, June, and his family by breaking off his affair with a man named Daniel. Daniel admits to June that Eli is only leaving him because he is dedicated to his God. This movie is worth watching because you will see what man is willing to do to honor God and his commitment to his religion. In trilogy called The Falls 2012 directed by Jon Garcia, The Falls: Testament of Love, The Falls: Covenant of Grace, we see an example of forbidden love and how it rips families apart, causes a rift in the Mormon Church, and utterly devastates a woman. This movie is an important film because it shows the consequences of divorce, the consequences of lying, and what happens when a marriage is built on fraud. It also questions if people should lie about their feelings to honor God or be honest with themselves so not to hurt themselves and others. All of these movies present great scenarios which people should really think about and decide what is best for them. Marriage fraud can disturb lies, an entire community, and rock the church. However, is it best to remain in a marriage that was only based on procreation? These are all questions one has to answer for one’s self. In the Western World, on the surface, considerable change has taken place—many people are increasingly reluctant to make a job all there is to life and more willing to accept pleasures of the flesh as part of their birthright. However, for many others, there has been no change or else the apparent change is illusory. #RandolphHarris 9 of 22

Some people assign the highest priority to work and the lowest to pleasures of the flesh. In other intricate cases, a person may assign pleasures of the flesh a high priority only to approach intercourse as though, it, too, were a performance task to be mastered and measured—an ironic and unfortunate reapplication of work-ethic standards. Nonetheless, what we realize is that individuals cannot be neatly categorized, of course, and most people live with overlapping—and even contradictory—beliefs and attitudes. “Here is the grand truth: while the World insists that power, possessions, popularity, and pleasures of the flesh bring happiness, they do not! They cannot! What they do produce is nothing but a hollow substitute for the blessed and happy state of those [who] keep the commandments of God. The truth is that it is much more exhausting to seek happiness where you can never find it! However, when you yoke yourself to Jesus Christ and do the spiritual work required to overcome the World, He, and He alone, does have the power to life you above the pull of this World.” reports President Russell M. Nelson. Another thing has become clear to me as these Worldly times have come upon us. Leviticus 18.22 states, “You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination.” However, if the verse was a little more forward thinking, I wonder. The Obama and Biden administration, celebrities and the radical governor of California have ushered in gay marriage and have even gone as far as to sponsor drag shows, convince boys that they should get cut wide, deep, and long so they can have private parts like women, and the military and state prison system would even pay for these services. And that makes me wonder if this is not the warning Leviticus 18.22 was referring to? One thing is clear, “The wages of sin is death,” reports Romans 6.23, and we all sin one way or another. #RandolphHarris 10 of 22

Death is not an act, nor even an event, for the one who dies. It is both for those who survive. What it can be, and should be, is a transaction. They physical horror of the Africans who were enslaved were compounded by the psychological horror, the prevention of dignity, self-assertion, or self-expression on the plantation. There was no brave blind fold and cigarette, no defiance, no famous last words: in sum, no death transaction. There were transactional stimuli from the dying, but no response from the killers. Thus, force majeure takes from the script its most poignant moment, the deathbed scene, and in one sense the whole human purpose of life is to set up that scene. In script analysis, this brought out by the question: “Who will be there at your deathbed, and what will your last words be?” An added question is: “What will their last words be?” The answer to the first query is usually some version of “I showed them”—“them” being the parents, especially mother in the case of a man and father in the case of a woman. The implication is either, “I showed them I did what they wanted me to,” or “I showed them I did not have to do what they wanted me to.” The answer to this question is, in effect, a summary of Jeder’s life goal, and can be used by the therapist as a powerful instrument in breaking up the games and getting Jeder out of his script: “So your whole life boils down to showing them you were right to feel hurt, frightened, angry, inadequate, or guilty. Very well. If you want to keep it that we, then that will be your greatest accomplishment. #RandolphHarris 11 of 22

The deathbed scene may be part of the hidden, or script contract in marriage. The husband or wife may have a very clear image of the other partner dying first. In such cases, the spouse often has the complementary script, and is obligingly planning to do so. Thus, they get along well and pass contented years together. However, if they each have the image of the other dying first, so that the scripts are crossed in this respect, those years will be contentious instead of contented, even though the scripts are complementary in other ways, as they must be for the marriage to take place. The difficulties will come out most clearly when one or the other is ill or in pain. A common script based on the death scene is found in the marriage of a younger woman to an older man. Even if the cynics say she marries him for his bread, the script scene is equally important, and she will always be at his side in time of danger, on the good side to take care of him, but also so as not to miss the final payoff transaction. If he is intuitively aware of this, the marriage may have only a very narrow margin of safety, since it is not easy to get along with someone who is waiting for you to die. The same situation, with the double payoff, may arise in the marriage of a younger man to an older woman, although these are less common. It is evident that the original script protocol has father in place of the aging husband, or mother in place of the aging wife. To substitute a new morality for current morality is the cause of all our evils. We are being confronted with the horror of a period in which man is persistently degraded in the name of certain principles, and we need to return to traditional morality. The president hesitation is perhaps but a hesitation of nihilism and the real progress of rebellion. It is also the absolute proof that there is no comfortable wisdom: We want, we shall have, the hereafter in our lifetime. Ego or self-awareness seems like a pitiful little cramp, like a bit of food stuck in the throat. In a Zen novel a wise monk, confronted by an assassin’s sword, admire the rainbow colours gleaming on its edge as it came. The assassin did not kill him because it was so obvious he was no ordinary man. The beast, personal pride, is most difficult in workshops when one is a leader before many people. #RandolphHarris 12 of 22

Egoism is plain unhandy. Insofar as I am Somebody, I cut myself off from other-buddies. I am trapped in should/oughts, moment by moment weighed and evaluated in the eyes of others, a victim of opinion (mine and theirs), constrained to put on my best shopkeeper’s face and coat. One becomes caught within imposed goals. “Everyone should try to be successful, have a BMW, McMansion, Sharp FC Series 220” UHD 4K Direct-View LED Display Kit, et cetera. Ego or pride is separateness, and separateness conflicts with how to be with others. Insofar as one is separate, one has a castle to defend, and there is defensiveness. There is a Chinese saying that “Locked doors make thieves.” The one that is not permitted in the little cell self escapes into the World (is projected). “Those monsters who would start war in outer space!”—but I have been known to start a way over the breakfast table. Sometimes the good side of a person is projected too. For instance, the one who marvels at the cleverness of others often projects greater greatness than exists in the others. Adolescents (young and old) are famous for this. Life is a kind of long-term seasoning where it is discovered that there is not greater wisdom or stupidity out there than there is in here. Nonviolence is not a doctrine of practical defeatism and emotional surrender. One the contrary, it is, in these atomic days, the only sure road to a real victory rather than to the illusory one which modern warfare brings. Nor is it a doctrine of escapism. Whether it be right or wrong, this refusal to take human life under any circumstances is noble and magnificent. It must be admired even by those of us who cannot agree. #RandolphHarris 13 of 22

The decision to accept nonviolence will be made, not necessarily on an exalted plane of moral values but on a practical plane of superior effectiveness. It will be not because we have been spiritually transformed that we choose the pacifist way but because we have reached an impasse and have no other way out from Worldwide suicide than this one. We are in no position any longer to make any choice at all. The way in which persons perceive, think about, and imagine their bodies to be (body image) is another way in which embodiment, or peculiar ways of being embodied, may be revealed. Seymour Fischer and Sideny Cleveland were able to show that persons who saw many things in the Rorschach ink-blot test that had shells, walls, or definite boundaries (high “barrier” scores) differed from persons who saw objects with blurry or shattered boundaries (high “penetration” scores), in styles of behaviour and sickness. Thus, patients with cancer of internal organs had higher “penetration of boundary” scores and lower “barrier” scores than persons with skin cancers. Dr. Fischer and Dr. Cleveland propose that the responses to the ink-blot test reveal the way in which persons unconsciously imagine their bodies to be. However warranted their hypothesis, it does appear that what persons believe to be the case about their bodies becomes a self-fulfilling prophesy. I believe that we have been grossly unimaginative in our ways of thinking and theorizing about the body. The way physicians, anatomists, and physiologists see the body, from the outside, has become the way in which schoolchildren and finally adults experience their bodies. We do not yet have a phenomenological anatomy and physiology that would heighten our consciousness. #RandolphHarris 14 of 22

Sound judgment goes hand in hand with agility. Judgement requires Sacramento Firefighters and EMTs to be able to assess situations or circumstances and draw conclusions. Good judgement enables the members of the Sacramento Fire Department, on a consistent basis, to be successful leaders, and much of it comes from experience. Innovation is also an important skill the displayed by the Sacramento Fire Department. Being innovative means producing ideas that are original and worthwhile. Sometimes a new problem presents itself or an old problem requires a new solution. The Sacramento Fire Department seizes such opportunities to think creatively and innovate. The key concept for creative thinking is to develop ways to challenge others with new ideas. It is also involves devising new ways for firefighters, EMTs, and civilians to accomplish tasks and missions. Creative thinking includes using adaptive approached (drawing from previous similar circumstances) or innovative approached (coming up with a completely new idea). The Sacramento Fire Department thinks creatively and adapts to new environments. The crew may find themselves in a fire house which is isolated, small, and with limited athletic facilities and without much room to run. In this case, they have learned to devise reliable ways to maintain their physical fitness. Innovative solutions include weight training, games, stationary runs, aerobics, treadmills, and other fitness drills to stay in shape for saving lives. #RandolphHarris 15 of 22

As innovative leaders, the Sacramento Fire Department prevents complacency by finding new ways to challenge team members with forward-looking approaches and ideas. As innovators, they rely on intuition, experience, knowledge, and input from their crew. They also reinforce team building by making everybody responsible for the innovation process. Interacting effectively with others also means that members of the Sacramento Fire Department are able to see things through the eyes of others. They accept the character, reactions, and motives of others as being just as valid as their own. Interpersonal tact combines with these skills, along with recognizing diversity and displaying self-control, balance, and stability in all situations. They avoid conclusions based on negative stereotypes, and instead understand that it is better to understand individuals by acknowledging their differences, qualifications, contributions, and potential. The Sacramento Fire Department and EMTs control their emotions. Instead of hysterics or showing no emotion at all, they display the right amount of sensitivity and passion to tap into others’ emotions and find out how to help them. Maintaining self-control inspires calm confidence in the team and in patients. Self-control encourages feedback from others that can help in understanding what is really happening. Self-control in fighting fires or providing medical care is especially important. The Sacramento Fire Departments self-control, balance, and stability creatures an atmosphere of control and healing. Understanding that people are human beings with hopes, fears, concerns and dreams is a powerful leadership tool. “Anyone can get angry—that is easy…but to [get angry with] the right person, to the right extent, at the right time, for the right reason, and in the right way is no longer something easy that anyone can do,” reports Aristotle. #RandolphHarris 16 of 22

“I have five kids. I know my youngest son is going to be a fireman for sure, because every time he hears a siren he runs to the window. So for Christmas I bought him a little fire engine set with a dashboard like on a chief’s car. It’s got the fire extinguisher and the microphone and a little crank that you turn for the siren. And a helmet. It was a funny coincidence. My company is in Battalion X, and on his helmet was “Battalion X.” I didn’t notice it until we opened it up at Christmas. Basically I divide my time between my family and the force. I spend time with all of my kids. Not only that, I’ve got a lot of little cousins and nieces and nephews and whatever. I spend a lot of time entertaining them, because to them I’m the hero, so I feel obligated to them. I am constantly going around and visiting and just entertaining them any way I can. Playing ball with them, telling them stories. They love to hear fire stories. That’s what I’m doing on my time off, or I like to travel. I’ve got family down South. In the summertime, I’ll jump on the highway and go to visit my family.”  Therefore, physical and mental toughness are just the basic requirements. You achieve excellence when you habitually show discipline and commitment to the department’s values. Individuals and organizations pursue excellence to improve. Citizens, remember to give the right-of-way to any law enforcement vehicle, fire engine, ambulance, or other emergency vehicle using a siren and red lights. Failure to pull over may result in a ticket. Drive to the right edge of the road and stop until the emergency vehicles(s) have passed. When approaching a stationary emergency vehicle with flashing emergency signal lights (hazard lights), move over and slow down. If you are in an intersection when you see an emergency vehicle, continue through the intersection. Drive to the right as soon as it is safe and stop. Obey any direction, order, or signal given by a law enforcement officer, or a firefighter. Even if they conflict with existing signs, signals, or laws, follow their orders. When their siren or flashing lights are on, it is against the law to follow within 300 feet of any fire engine, law enforcement vehicle, ambulance, or other emergency vehicle. If you drive to the scene of a fire, collision, or other disaster, you can be arrested. When you do this, you are getting in the way of firefighters, ambulance crews, or other rescue and emergency personnel. Moral courage is the willingness to stand firm on values, principles, and convictions. It enables you to stand up for what you believe is right, regardless of the consequences. #RandolphHarris 17 of 23

The concept of professional courage does not always mean being as tough as nails, either. It also suggests a willingness to listen to other peoples’ problems, to go to bat for them in a tough situation and it means knowing just how far they can go. It also means being willing to tell the boss when he or she is wrong. As a reminder, parents, pleasure teach your children love America and be patriotic citizens and to buy goods and services made in America. It is also important to respect law and order and treat your elders with respect. Having the Southern American boarder open and not having American farmland protected, not producing beef, poultry, fish, fruit, produce and dairy in America, and without American goods and services being our number one manufactured and selling items, America has created a dangerous and significantly elevated risks to national security, national economic security, and national public health. Some people may believe that these claims are overstated, but by not routinely monitoring Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CEVs) or other security relevant alerts, such as end-of-life of machinery is how the Oroville Dam Crisis occurred in 2017. Other crises that have occurred due to neglect of critical infrastructure is the 2025 Palisades fires because Southern California ran out of water, when they are located next to an ocean and they could have simply created desalinating plants to help with the water shortage. The water is so plentiful that it is currently eroding land and causing homes to fall into the sea. #RandolphHarris 18 of 22

American government should know all exploitable vulnerabilities and fix them prior to the situation becoming a crisis. Failure to take such mitigating actions is dangerous and significantly elevates risk to national security, national economic security, and national public health and safety. The American government must understand that significant time and resources must be invested in America. They must also encourage corporations to plan for both mitigating safety vulnerabilities in the short term and eliminating them in the long term. For instance, a company might begin by reaching out to the federal, state or local government and requesting tax incentives to provide security to dangerous communities, to help the government repair bridges and potholes. America needs an approach to eliminate safety vulnerabilities in American cities. There needs to be a road map by the end of 2025, outlining a prioritized approach to eliminate crisis situations in America. There is enough money to send aid to foreign nations, but the American government does not have enough money to care their infrastructure, provide adequate resources, nor end the affordable housing crisis. Nor is there enough money to fund other national critical functions (NCFs). These bad practices of putting America and Americans last is considered exceptionally risky, particularly to national security, national economic security, and national public health and safety. In 2024, Americans spent $100 billion on Japanese cars. #RandolphHarris 19 of 22

In an effort to help America pull through the massive national deficit, please buy American made cars. American made cars used to be the envy of the World and because American car brands are offering a wide range of options, from family SUVs to electric vehicles and luxury sedans, we are now seeing a resurging interest. American made cars are equal or superior to those made overseas. The Chevrolet Trax, for instance, is a well-designed, fuel efficient, and safe SUV. And as you know, there is no better car on Earth than 1950-1970s American Muscle Car. Americans make sure superior product, but we are buying things from other nations. American food imports have risen by 300 percent since 1999. American farmland declined by nearly 20 million acres between 2017 and 2022. As of 2022, there were 880.1 million acres of land dedicated to farming, compared to 900.1 million in 2017. The data shows there are now little more than 1.9 million farms in the country.  Americans and American corporations spent $136 billion on food and beverages from other countries. It is a national security risk to lose American Farms and farmers. If there is a war, and most of our meat, produce, poultry, dairy, and fruit is coming from foreign counties, we stand the risk of starving. With war breaking out all over the World, in these uncertain times, it is very important to bring American farms back. Las Vegas is running out of buildable land and is expected to reach its maximum number of homes in 2032. So, home prices are expected to rise dramatically. #RandolphHarris 20 of 22

Additionally, State Farm is asking the California Department of Insurance if they can raise homeowner insurance rates by 22 percent. If election for an unprecedented third term, to make housing more affordable and offset the cost of homeowner’s insurance, President Trump plans to abolish property taxes. Much like the land crisis in Las Vegas, we could also run out of land to farm and will not be able to grow or cultivate our own food. We can protect American farmland and support American farmers by buying American made beef, poultry, dairy, and produce. Also, country of origin labeling is very important so Americans can know where their food is coming from and have the ability to support American farmers and ranchers. As money flows, it influences further investment. Save the land that sustains us by protecting American farmland. Once the land is built on, we lose it forever.  And in the future, there may be food wars. Also, to ensure that we have farmland and buildable land for future use, we need to start limiting the number of people allowed to immigrant to America. Perhaps with the immigrants we do allow into America, there needs to be a diversity program to make sure we have a population that equally represents all races of people. If Americans continue to spend money on American products, then more need to be made to keep up the inventory. When investors notice these goods are selling, it gives them the confidence to pour more money into that local business. It shows that people want these goods made in America and pressures investors to keep these goods and services in America. The jobs stay here, the business stays in American, wages naturally increase, and more money is invested to keep up with demand. This reduces the burden on the taxpayer. #RandolphHarris 21 of 22

When you support American businesses, that money stays in our economy and can help to reduce the national debt. The government creates debt by borrowing from businesses in the private sector or from foreign countries. It also increases the national debt by spending more than it gains in tax revenue in a fiscal year. When people shop locally, more tax money stays in the economy and goes to the government. This way, it keeps more money in our national economy and keeps more jobs located in American which also sends more taxes to the government, which can again help to reduce the national debt. When you buy foreign goods, these companies usually have lighter tax loads or exemptions, meaning less money for the nation debt, plus you are helping to strengthen these foreign nations by send more money overseas. Buying American made products is also better for the environment and helps to reduce the carbon footprint because these products do not have to travel nearly as far. Furthermore, American companies and manufacturers are held to much higher standards in regard to pollution. American companies have to be more careful about air, land, and water pollution and have proper ways to dispose of waste. Moreover, please remember to respect law and order and treat your elders with the utmost dignity and kindness possible. And take your education seriously so that you will be successful in life and make your family proud. It is inborn in the human minds to wish to know. If this begins with the endless surface questions of a child’s curiosity, if it continues into deeper questions of a scientist’s probing investigation, it cannot and does not stop there. For the higher part of the mind will eventually come into unfoldment, that union of abstract reflective thought with mystical intuition, which is true intelligence, which needs and sees a view of the whole of things. And so, the knowing faculty enters the realm of philosophy. As a reminder, parents, pleasure teach your children love America and be patriotic citizens and to buy goods and services made in America. It is also important to respect law and order and treat your elders with respect. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic, for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all. #RandolphHarris 22 of 22

Steeped in history and owned by the same family for over 100 years, The Winchester Mansion forms the iconic centrepiece of the estate. Depicting three different styles of architecture in which the mansion was constructed over a period of almost 40 years. At one time, the magnificent Winchester Mansion possessed 500 to 600 rooms and was nine stories tall. In the 1906 Earthquake, the nine-story tower collapsed, and it took much of the fourth floor with it. Today, experts believe over 160 rooms exist, of which 110 are open to guests, expanding over 100,000 square feet. While historical authenticity is extremely important, many would like to see the mansion fully restored, with some of its rustic character remaining. Over the years, several restoration projects have been untaken, along with important maintenance projects to keep this important work of Americana open for future generations to enjoy.

This mansion not only provides a luxurious lifestyle but also offers a chance to immerse oneself in the timeless beauty and cultural heritage of what some call Winchester Valley, making it an exceptional residence or an exquisite retreat in the heart of California.
