God is in Our Temple

Love for life are absolutely infectious. How often do you reflect that your covenants reach beyond morality and connect you to the Divine? Making covenants is the expression of a willing heart; keeping covenants, the expression of a faithful heart. Care and responsibility are absolutely necessary for the preservation of life and growth. Other aspects go even further than mere preservation. There is an attitude that instills love for the living, which gives one the feeling: it is good to be alive, it is good to be a human, it is good to be on this Earth! Altruism and unselfish character are considered the highest kind of love, and the most sacred of all emotional bonds. Love gives us a since of power and possession, as it provides us with a natural satisfaction and makes one feel connected to the community. Love requires unselfishness and we have to have the ability to give everything and to want nothing but the happiness of the loved one. “That which is of God invites and entices us to do good continually; and to love God, and to serve him (Moroni 7.13).” Covenants—or binding promises between us and Heavenly Father—are essential for our eternal progression. #RandolphHarris 1 of 5

We promise to love God with all our hearts and love our sisters and brothers as ourselves. In the temple, we further covenant to be obedient, selfless, faithful, honorable, charitable. Every time we reach out with love, patience, kindness, generosity, we express the relationship which exists between God and the individual. You are a child of Almighty God, created to grow, move forward, increase, and constantly break the barriers of the past and advance God’s Kingdom. If we can conceive of the Divine Being as already existing within us, no search is necessary. Instead of a search there is an unfoldment. Prayers, petitions, or attempts at communication with the Infinite is possible because God is omnipresent, and at the center of our own being. God is in our temple. Divine communication is more real and more beneficial when we believe in the indwelling spirit, when we believe that God’s work is already accomplished and perfect even though it is eternally unfolding. Moreover, God’s words have more power when we believe that they are power, and he endows them with power in such degree as he senses the divine presence in back of them. #RandolphHarris 2 of 5

The inner testimony of the soul is real and valid. Covenants renew, invigorate, and refresh our souls. Who could deny the privilege of appreciating beauty? A higher altitude of thought will find a corresponding higher level of manifestation. A deep underlying sense of this spiritual Universe is necessary to the most effective form of mind healing. There is a field of reality higher than the intellect, and it uses the intellect as its instrument. Without feeling, nothing comes into being. We all have life events that, when we recall them year later, acquire new and important meaning. We are blessed with a great and noble heritage that offers a pathway to truth. Applied to mental healing, this means that the words we speak must have a deep meaning to us, and we must sense that behind them there is a power-seeking expression.  Words come from the heart, and are a gift from God. God spoke the World into being by the power of his words and we are in his image in part because of the power we have with words. Words do more than convey information. This power is infinitely greater than our intellect. Appreciation of human experience will be quickened rather than delayed through unity with this indwelling spirit. #RandolphHarris 3 of 5

God has great things in store for his people; they ought to have great expectations. Our spiritual experiences reach high levels at sometimes than at others, and we should seek to being the inspiration of these moments of illumination into our daily living. Because are so blessed, it is also important that we learn and do our duty to God. It is important that we try to cease wars, end unhappiness, resolve economic problems, wipe poverty from the face of the Earth, and have a spirit of mutual helpfulness. We are not called upon to consider ourselves as unholy; we are neither conceived in sin nor shaped in iniquity. By fulfilling our responsibilities, we are given the opportunities to develop spiritually. God is a synonym for wholeness. The Kingdom of God is within you. This Kingdom is finished, complete, and perfect for eternity, but the manifestation of the Kingdom of God is the eternal activity of right ideas, law, order, truth, and beauty. To desire that the divine eternal shall project itself through our thought and makes our nature receptive to the greater side of our nature which lies open to the upper reaches of thought. #RandolphHarris 4 of 5

Spirituality is beauty, invisible harmony, power, love, happiness, joy and enthusiasm, and the greater rhythm of life flows through everything. It is like the heat in fire, the colours in a prism. The author of peace cannot inspire confusion. God is the author of peace. Divine means love, beauty, harmony, and reason. God cannot be the author of confusion, he does not inspire humans to acts of destruction. In the pursuit of truth one seeks to wed oneself to reason, it is the source that will lead the soul to the alter of reality. We all have promised lands that we would like to go to, and we can have our own light in the World that challenges us. This light comes all wrapped up in love, the Lord’s love for every one of his children, and especially for young people. The Lord knows that we face challenges and temptations, and he provides the light that brightens our hearts, minds, and spirits. God has reported that his word is truth and truth is light. Light is the unity, goodness, and perfection of the supreme being. Prayer is what makes the connection with God’s power, which leads to loving and enlarging our own capacities. #RandolphHarris 5 of 5
