Love is an Attitude Toward the World

Love is not primarily a relationship to a specific person; it is an attitude, an orientation of character which determines the relatedness of a person to the World as a whole, not toward one object of life. I love you because you fulfill my expectations, because you do your duty, because you are like me. Obedience is the main virtue. People need unconditional love and care physiologically as well as psychically. It is important to use religion as an authority and guidance. God has the function of making us secure in life, teaching us, and guiding us to cope with the problems with which particular society we have been born into that confront us. God does not try to prevent us from growing up, and does not try to put a premium on helplessness. God wants us to have faith in life, so we are not overly stressed, and thus we do not infect others in our lives with chaos and dysfunction. Part of God’s wish is that we become independent, patient, and tolerant, rather than threatening and authoritarian. We should grow to have an increasing sense of competence in life and become our own authority. #RandolphHarris 1 of 5

There is no misdeed, no crime which could deprive us of God’s love, of his wish for our life and happiness. Mature people become free from the outside figures, and knows that all we need is the God inside of us. Love is an activity, a power of the soul. If we truly love one person, we love the World, we love life. We should have a sense of responsibility, care, respect, knowledge for other human beings as this attitude helps us to further our lives. The differences in talents, intelligence, and knowledge are all negligible in comparison with the identity of the human core common in all people. When we get emotionally and spiritually involved in helping a person who is in pain, a compassion enters our heart. It hurts, but the process lifts some of the pain from another. Sanctification takes place within our souls and we become more like our Savior. We should also learn to pause more often, in our daily lives, and learn to recognize the spirit of God. God is the all-powerful creator of the Universe. An invisible law of God is acting upon us. Once we recognize those feelings for what they are, our faith in them will increase. Soon we will find that we have developed a spiritual sixth sense which cannot be misled. #RandolphHarris 2 of 5

The blind cannot lead the blind. However, alone with truth, one person can pass from weakness into strength, from fear into faith, from defeat into success, and even while we are still living we connect to a realization of everlasting life. We have come to this Earth at a glorious time. The opportunities before us are nearly limitless. Almost all of us live in comfortable homes, with loving families, adequate food, and sufficient clothing. Many of us also have access to amazing technological advances. We as individuals each have our own thoughts, feelings, hopes, aspirations, and desires, and each is directly and intimately connected with God, life, energy, and power. Each of us is a fountain of life.  God that dwells in us does the work. However, sometimes we become so frustrated with our little thoughts and fears and doubts that it makes it impossible for us to let God flow through us with the joy of life. Our problem is not with God, who is the river of life. Our trouble is with ourselves. When God puts a promise in your heart, we have to come to the place where we believe in that promise so strongly no one and no circumstance can move us. #RandolphHarris 3 of 5

When the natural joy of life is unblocked it will flow freely through us and we shall become whole and happy. However, doubt, fear, uncertainty, anxiety, and a sense of insecurity can so congest our mental life that nothing good can get through. However, do not feel badly because you are not where you want to be right this minute. Do not focus on the disappointment, the failure, or the mistakes. They are all a part of God’s plan to prepare you for much bigger opportunities. Keep moving forward, being your best, honoring God, being determined and persistent, and God promises there is something rewarding in your future. We are born with a natural desire to express life. Clear your mind of everything that doubts the existence of God; live as though love is the great reality; bless and curse not, and then accept and let God release everything that belongs to us. He will bring out gift and talents we did not even know we had. God will provide new opportunities. God loves to do exceedingly, abundantly, above and beyond. We have to be faithful day in and day out. Believe that you can break out of what is holding you back and become everything God created you to be. Incredible power is released when we believe. #RandolphHarris 4 of 5

It is time for us to let go and let God. However, before God can do it we must clear our minds of everything that hinders his doing; we must keep our faith strong. We must look at ourselves and be honest. If we find anything in our thinking that denies life, let us clear it away. We can stop being afraid if we want to. We can stop having resentments. We can at once stop all unkindness, winnow out every doubt, and gain faith through the simple practice of learning to believe. Express joy today. Be happy. Bring gladness and enthusiasm into every experience of your life. Maintain a quiet confidence and peace and a sense of serenity. And be glad for the achievements of others and rejoice in their success. We can learn to love people if we wish to. It is this kind of thinking that allows God to flow through us, and brings laughter and joy into everything we do. It can bring health and freedom in place of sickness and bondage. It can bring abundance and prosperity where there might have been impoverishment. That is why we have to be certain to keep our faith in God. We must forgive, we must love, we must make others happy so that we ca draw the divine substance into our own lives. #RandolphHarris 5 of 5
