Terrifying sounds fill his ears; when all seems well, marauders attack him. He despairs of escaping the darkness; he wanders about—food for vultures; he knows the day of darkness is at hand. Distress and anguish fill him with terror; they overwhelm him, like a king poised to attack because he shakes his fist at God and vaunts himself against the Almighty, defiantly charging against him with a thick, strong shield. Though his face is covered with fat and his waist bulges with flesh, he will inhabit ruined towns and houses where no one lives, houses crumbling to rubble. He will no longer be rich and his wealth will not endure, nor will his possessions spread over the land. He will not escape the darkness; a flame will wither his shoots, and the breath of God’s mouth will carry him away. Let him not deceive himself by trusting what is worthless, for he will get nothing in return. Before his time, he will be paid in full, and his branches will not flourish. He will be like a vine stripped of its unripe grapes, like an olive tree shedding its blossoms. For the company of the godless will be barren, and fire will consume the houses of the who love bribes. They conceive trouble and give birth to evil; their womb fashions deceit. #RandolphHarris 1 of 5
Odd characters are needful to make even character shine. Good people would not be valued, if there were not bad ones. The more people try to push away and ignore internal warning signs, the more likely they are to take over and leave them bewildered, confused, and ashamed. People who cannot comfortably notice what is going on inside become vulnerable to respond to any sensory shift either by shutting down or by going into a panic—they develop a fear of fear itself. The price for ignoring or distorting the body’s messages is being unable to detect what is truly dangerous or harmful for you and, just as bad, what is safe or nourishing. Self-regulation depends on having a friendly relationship with your body. Without it you have to rely on external regulations—from medication, drugs like alcohol, constant reassurance, or compulsive compliance with the wishes of others. Suppressing inner cries for help does not stop stress hormones from mobilizing the body. Well-constructed minds are never more sensible of the distress of those whom they love than when their own situations forms a contrast with them. The youthful heart is ready to believe that what it wishes will happen. Alas, how doubly sharp does this readiness render the barb of disappointment. #RandolphHarris 2 of 5
The persistent surrender of negative feelings and attitudes means that the associated guilt is also being constantly relinquished. A consciousness that is not guilt-ridden tends no longer to attract disease. In the unconscious, guilt requires punishment and sickness, with its attendant pain and suffering, as the mind’s most frequent means of self-retaliation. This self-retaliation may take the form of an accident, cold, attack of the influenza, arthritis, or any of the multiple diseases that the mind has invented. These diseases take epidemic forms due to television and media publicity. When a prominent figure shares with the public some serious illness, there is a sudden increase in the incidence of that aliment. The unconscious grabs hold of the ailment and utilizes it to avenge a grievance or injury. With the constant surrender of inner guilt, there is less and less of a problem to clear up. Therefore, a person who is free of negativity and guilt tends to be free of disease and suffering. The healing can be dramatic. The spiritual quest is classically likened to a pathway, a journey, or a venture. Unfortunately, the naïve seeker often goes unprepared on a difficult journey without the necessary tools. #RandolphHarris 3 of 5
In the ordinary World, we depend on many safety measures. We wear seatbelts, get inoculated against epidemic diseases, and accept that there are hazards to be guarded against and overcome. Thus, caution comes from wisdom, not for fear. Prudence requires awareness of the pitfalls to be avoided. If enlightenment were easy to come by, it would be a common phenomenon. It through faith in God, enlightenment is extremely possible. Each leap of faith brings new joys and an increase in consciousness which calibrates higher with the divine mind. As one progresses, confidence replaces fear, emotional comfort replaces distress, and the ease and quality of life improves. People who want to see something very much, even if they are not consciously aware of the desire, can see it. Created spirits are responsible for only a small part of the movement in the World, and therefore God, the infinite spirit, must be its prime source. My eyes behold the complete and perfect in all creation. I see the perfect; there is nothing else to see, and no suggestion of otherness can enter my thought. I know only the perfect and complete. I am perfect and whole, now. The circle of love is complete. It comprehends all, includes all, and binds all together with cords of everlasting unity. #RandolphHarris 4 of 5
God moves us, awakening and exciting us to Heavenly love, to good resolutions to whatever tend to our eternal well-being. God’s inspirations will last all of our lives. Oh, soul of mine, look out and see; look up and know your freedom. Be not cast down nor dismayed; be uplifted within me and know salvation has come. One important direction in which to exercise gentleness, is with respect to ourselves, never growing irritated with one’s self or one’s imperfections. Know that you are perfect the way God created you. Many people fall into the error of being angry. What we want is a quiet, steady, firm displeasure at our own faults. In the very near future, God will bring opportunities for you to increase your influence in amazing ways. Do not become overwhelmed by fear. Do not be intimidated. You are well able, equipped, and anointed. Dare to take those steps of faith. What you have seen God do in the past will pale in comparison to what God is about to manifest in your life. Your sufferings are nothing compared to the glory that is coming. What has been meant for your harm will be taken and used for your advantage. The person who did you wrong in a relationship, the betrayal, or the divorce might have caused you pain, but if you get over it, quit reliving all the hurt, and more forward, then you will come to the new beginning God has in store. #RandolphHarris 5 of 5
