What we feel matters much more than what we know. Mystery and disappointment are not absolutely indispensable to the growth of love, but they are, very often, its powerful auxiliaries. Strong wind, earthquake-shock, and fire may pass by: but I shall follow the guiding of that small voice which interprets the dictates of conscience. The narrowest human limits are wide enough to contain the grandest human emotions. However, I cannot feel them anymore, you left me lost in mental corridors, cannot find my way out anymore. Just like a ghost, I hear you whisper, “Never let go,” I still remember. Run through my dreams, I have got to find you, all that I need is someone to rescue me. Shallow sorrows and shallow love lives on. The love and the sorrows that are great are destroyed by their own plenitude. Our naked feelings make haste to clothe themselves in propositions which lie at hand among our store of opinions, and to give a true account of what passes within us something else is necessary besides sincerity, even when sincerity is unmixed. #RandolphHarris 1 of 11
We have no right to intermeddle with people’s feelings when they would not tell them themselves. There are some feelings which are too tender to be suffered by the World. As if you are waiting in my long-time memories, you beckon to me as if you are whispering, as if alone forever in longing. You come to me step by step. Deep heart, deep thoughts, your deep voice. I hear your voice echo. Your heart is calling to me. Never say die. When a person can say what one likes with the certainty that every word will be reported, and speak to those around one as one manifestly their superior, one always looms large. I am now trying an experiment very frequent among modern authors; which is, to write upon nothing: When the subject is utterly exhausted, to let the pen still move on; by some called, the ghost of wit, delighting to walk after the death of its body. Why did you come? Where were you? It seems like it is a bit late, but we finally meet. Do you love me? Is this fate? I keep hearing your sweet words echo to me, “Everlasting flame, or everlasting dishonor—nothing between!” #RandolphHarris 2 of 11
You are smiling in front of me, I tightly hold your hand nest to you. I look at you with eyes overflowing with love. A song automatically comes out with my especially light steps. Is it because it resembles you? This melody is beautiful. I beseech you not to measure the firmness of my faith, by the fewness of my words, but rather think that the overflowing waves of good will will leave no passage for many words. Why do I keep smiling? Why do I keep looking at my phone? People around me keep saying that I changed. Why am I like this? Why do I keep thinking of you? In long discourses, one good thing drives out another, till all is forgotten. I guess the love I dreamed of is you. A song automatically comes out with my especially light steps. Air and manner often express more than the accompanying word. Each moment is possible only because of love. In the state of love, we wake up every morning and give thanks for another day of life, and seek to make life better for everyone around us. Because of the inner peace, we have the ability to perceive the thoughts and feelings of others on a spiritual level. #RaandolphHarris 3 of 11
The highest glory of human beings is that we were created in the image of God. Experience includes the perceiving of relations; it does not consist merely of individual sensations that need to be related by the understanding. In the realm of mental functions, all simultaneous states of consciousness and intellectual and emotional activities are perceived as unity. The concept of a substance, whether of a physical or a psychical substance, is not that of a bundle of qualities, but is a unity of qualities and relations. We can sometimes actually perceive a causal nexus as opposed to a mere sequence, and this experience is the origin of the category of cause. For example, when our thought processes are governed by some interest or mood, we do not first experience the interest and only subsequently its effects; rather, we are aware of the interest and its effects all at one. Thus, we directly experience causality in our own internal activity. Without this, we would not be conscious of reality. We transfer this awareness of causality to natural phenomena, although this projection is superfluous for scientific purposes where only lawlike sequences of events are needed. #RandolphHarris 4 of 11
It is impossible for us to have living and vital intercession unless we are perfectly and completely sure of God. Intercession is prayer that pleads with God for your needs and the needs of others. However, it is also much more than that. Intercession involves taking hold of God’s will and refusing to let go until His will comes to pass. Intercession is warfare—the key to God’s battle plan for our lives. However, the battle ground is not on this Earth. We are not fighting against humans. “We are fighting against forces and authorities and against rulers of darkness and spiritual powers in the Heavens above” (Eph. 6.12). Intercessory prayer takes place in this spiritual World where the battles for our own lives, our families, our friends and our nation are won or lost. And the greatest destroyer of that confident relationship to God is our own personal sympathy and preconceived bias. Identification with God is the key to intercession, and whenever we stop being identified with Him, it is because of our sympathy with others, not because of sin. Darkness is more eligible than light to those whose deeds are evil. #RandolphHarris 5 of 11
Never sympathize with someone who finds it difficult to get to God; God is not to blame. It is not for us to figure out the reason for the difficulty, but only to present the truth of God so that the Spirit of God will reveal what is wrong. When the truth is preached, the Spirit of God bring each person directly to a vital connection with God Himself. When we ask God for wisdom, His desires will become the focus of our prayer. “Let God change the way you think. Then you will know how to do everything that is good and pleasing to Him” (Romans 12.2). And if we ourselves are free with the liberty of Christ, others will be brought into that same liberty—the liberty that comes from realizing the absolute control and authority of Jesus Christ. Next, bind the work of Satan, knowing that Jesus has given you authority “to defeat the power of your enemy” (Luke 10.19). If God shows you the identity of specific spiritual strongholds that are at work, take authority over these strongholds in the name of Jesus Christ. And always remember that “God’s Spirit is in you and is more powerful than that one that is in the World” (1 John 4.4). #RandolphHarris 6 of 11
How can we argue about God’s power in the other stars from the laws which he has given for our rule in this one? Take comfort as you begin the spiritual battle, and know that you are not alone: Jesus Christ is also interceding on your behalf. “Jesus is able to save forever those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them” (Heb. 7.25). The only men and women our Lord will use in His building enterprise are those who love Him personally, passionately, and with great devotion—those who have love for God that goes far beyond any of the closet relationship on Earth. When God inspects us with His searching and refining fire, will He detect that we have built enterprises of our own on the foundation of Jesus? Perseverance means more than endurance—more than simply holding on until the end. Entrust yourself to God’s hands. Is there something in your life for which you need perseverance right now? As poisonous adders lurk beneath the cover of the most delightful shrubberies, so falsity and deceit are concealed under alluring language. #RandolphHarris 7 of 11
Philosophy is the investigation of what mind and nature have in common. Maintain your intimate relationship with Jesus Christ through perseverance of faith. Even though you cannot see him right now and cannot understand what He is doing, you know Him. The Devil may work against us, but God sends us men and women when we need them. God deadens all other sensations, or rather absorbs them all in the love of Him. Some are drawn by love, others are drive by terrors, to their Divine refuge. Philosophy is the science that studies the most general laws of the psychical and of the real. To be real means to have effects. The realty of our own mental states is the first datum. We recognize the reality of external objects as they affect us, having first acquired the idea of causality internally. We experience the self-evidence of such judgments as 2 X 2 = 4, and this self-evidence cannot be further reduced. It is the subjective aspect of truth. Truth itself is that property that which is thought, not a function of the thinker. I must will to obey, and I must will to receive God’s Spirit. When God gives me a vision of truth, there is never a question of what He will do, but only what I will do. #RandolphHarris 8 of 11
I openly declare to God that I will be faithful. I will to be faithful—and give other people credit for being faithful, too. Empirical psychovitalism is the view that feelings, thoughts, and volitions can be stimuli for the physical nerve process. Evolution did not dispose of the problem of teleology, since life itself, whose origin from nonliving atoms is so mathematically improbable, requires an explanatory hypothesis. In God essence and existence are one. In infinite beings, essence and existence are really not distinct. The distinction is solely one of reason, a mental or logical distinction, for to assert a real distinction presupposes a knowledge of existence, and this would entail an essence of existence. It is in nature of created being to be contingent. Every creature is being in virtue of relation to God, inasmuch as it participates in or in some way imitates the being of God. When we hold on to things we should let go, refusing to forgive, remembering the worst, we only poison our lives. The root of bitterness will always produce bitter fruit. Bitter people do not have good relationships. They are too negative in the psychology of engagement with everyday life. #RandolphHarris 9 of 11
When we are bitter, it affects our attitudes and taints everything about us. What issues in our life is God saying to you, “Get over it?” God says, “Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in Heaven. He causes his Sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and unrighteous” (Matthew 5.44-45). Acrid bitterness inevitably seeps into the lives of people who harbor grudges and suppress anger, and bitterness is always poison. It keeps your pain alive instead of letting you deal with it and get beyond it. Bitterness sentences you to relive the hurt over and over. Forgiveness is the economy of the heart. Forgiveness saves the expense of anger, the cost of hatred, the waste of spirits. Forgive people who are spiritually illiterate and cannot read your nature, as they have little or no education of God. Father God, I recognize that You are not surprises by what was lacking or hurtful in my past or present. You know every hardship and hurt, every unfair and difficult situation I have faced and ever will face. I choose to let go of things that are holding me back from the fantastic future you have for me. #RandolphHarris 10 of 11
God, I choose to forgive others as You have forgiven me, and I ask that You cleanse any poison of bitterness out of my life. I believe that You are moving me forward and will thrust me into my destiny. I have learned this simple principle acceptance, and believe and declare no disappointment, no bad break, and no injustice will keep me from my destiny. God will take what is meant for my harm and use it to my advantage. I will not only come out of difficult times, but will also come out better, stronger, and increased, with ten times as much joy, peace and victory. I am compelled by God to have faith and God is consuming my life, for it is His. It is better to fail in an attempt to exercise faith than to let it lie dormant and fruitless. God never belittles those who attempt to follow Him, but He does chasten those who refuse to attempt anything for Him. I am serious about fulfilling my destiny by taking a step of faith to put actions behind me because I want to live the full and abundant life God has promised me. I believe that I will find the power to do what I could not do before and that extraordinary things are going to happen. I am expecting a miracle. #RandolphHarris 11 of 11
