Human Events are Conjoined by Links Imperceptible to Keenest Eyes

No bond unites congenial hearts more firmly than that of a common great aim. Monarchies, aristocracies, and religions are all based on that large defect in your race—the individual’s distrust of his or her neighbor, and one’s desire for safety’s or comfort’s sake to stand well in our neighbor’s thoughts. It is important that I learn not to be disobedient to the Heavenly vision—not to doubt that it can be attained. It is not enough to give mental assent to the fact that God has redeemed the Word, nor even to know that the Holy Spirit can make all that Jesus Christ did a reality in my life. I must have the foundation of a personal relationship with Him. There would be nothing there without a person relationship. As children of God, we must learn to make room for Him. We plan and figure and predict that this or that will happen, but we forget to make room for God to come in as He chooses. The way to make room for God is to expect Him to come, but not in a certain way. No matter how well we may know God, the great lesson to learn is that He may grace of with his love and presence at any minute. #RandolphHarris 1 of 7

Look at you in war—what muttons you are, and how ridiculous! There have never been a just one, never an honorable one—on the part of the instigator of war. The loud little handful, as usual, will shout for war and demand a fight. The pulpit will, warily and cautiously, object at first; the great, big, dull bulk of the nation will rub its sleepy eyes and try to make out why there should be a war, and will say earnestly and indignantly, “It is unjust and dishonorable, and there is no necessity for it.” Then the handful will shout louder. And now the whole nation—pulpit and all—will take up the war and holler and scream like they lost their minds and have never seen sanity a day in their lives and mob any honest person who ventures to open his or her mouth; and presently, such mouths will cease to open. Next, the media and political leaders will invent cheap lies, putt the blame upon the nation that is attacked, and every person will be glad of those conscience—soothing wild facts, fake news and falsities, and will diligently study them. #RandolphHarris 2 of 7

Am I continually separating myself and looking to God every day of my life? These people will worship these reporters and the news like they are gods and speaking the Scripture, and refuse to examine any refutations of them; and thus, they will convince themselves that the war and salacious gossip is just and will thank God for the better sleep they enjoy after this process of grotesque self-deception. Meanwhile, they will curse us all with miseries and maladies of mind and body, and with their corrupt mouths will invent injustice and hell with their persuasive speeches of people paying their fair share, while increasing the cost of living for us all. They will talk about rights for criminals, and try to shuffle the responsibility for their acts upon us; and finally, they will invite our people to worship them, but ignore God and the Holy Bible. It is in consideration of this conviction that mature philosopher is presented as a dream, a dream which, with the passage of time, can truly be called prophetic. #RandolphHarris 3 of 7

Consecration is the act of continually separating myself from everything except that which God has appointed me to do. It is not a onetime experience, but an ongoing process. Our Lord says to be careful about one thing—our relationship to Him. However, our common sense says, “That is absurd. I must consider how I am going to live, and I must consider what I am doing to eat and drink.” However, Jesus Christ says you must not. Beware of allowing yourself to think that He says this while not understanding your circumstances. Jesus Christ knows our circumstances better than we do, and He says we must not think about these things to the point where they become the primary concern of our life. Whenever we are obstinate and self-willed and set on our own ambitions, we are hurting God. Every time we stand on our own rights, we are persecuting Him. Whenever we reply on self-respect, we grieve His Spirit. All I do should be based on a perfect oneness with God. This will mean that others may use me, go around me, or completely ignore me, but if I will submit to it for God’s sake, I will prevent God and Jesus Christ from being persecuted. #RandolphHarris 4 of 7

The feelings of fear—whether tension and anxiety, shyness, self-consciousness, caution, holding us back, or distrust—have the purpose of escape from the imagined threat, and to put psychological distance from the feared situation or person. Paradoxically, because the fear is powerful, the very process of holding it in mind can make that which is feared come into our life. It is like a self-fulfilling prophecy. The energy of fear generates an inner focus on all the negative things that could happen, and that focus can coalesce the appearance of the very events that we fear the most. Fear, therefore, is giving away our power to another person and enabling them to do the very thing that we feared. The insecure person is fearful and prone to jealousy, clinging, possessiveness, and attachment to things that do not belong to them. The purpose of these feelings is to bind and tightly possess the other, or their goods and services, to achieve security by preventing loss and, at times, to punish the other for our own loss. #RandolphHarris 5 of 7

The other person will feel pressured by that energy of dependency and possessiveness, and will feel their life is in danger and that they need to run for freedom and escape you and that environment. When people know you want to control them, their urge is to resist. That is why law enforcement generally tried to talk to people and make them understand that they must comply. They will say things like, “You are putting us and the community in danger, and we need you to calm down. The laws are here for your safety.” This means letting go of inner fears for your safety. God has to destroy our determined confidence in our own convictions. We say, “I know that this is what I should do”—and suddenly the voice of God speaks in a way that overwhelms us by revealing the depths of our ignorance. We show our ignorance of God in the very way we decide to serve Him. We serve Jesus Christ in a spirit that is not His and hurt Him by our defense of Him.  #RandolphHarris 6 of 7

It can be difficult to see how merely contiguous material parts could form an organic whole capable of a unified and purposeful response to its environment. Traditionally, the existence of unique species and individuals have been explained by recourse to supernatural design and metaphysical essence. Molecular combinations endowed with specialized functions and organic unity. A swarm of bees is a whole that is qualitatively unique and different from the sum of its parts. Although the swarm consists simply of numerous separate individuals in physical contact, it foes, as a whole, possess the characteristic of purposeful, unified behavior that is associated with the individual organism. It is possible to mistake the swarm of thousands of bees for a single animal. The unity of the organism is derived from the life of the whole. The unity of the organism is derived from the life of the whole, and affirms the continuity of the kingdoms and refutes the metaphysical principle of essences. The discovery of the organic cell and the principles of the cell division confirms this view. #RandolphHarris 7 of 7
