Justification by Faith—Nothing is Free because Opportunity Cost

God is the God of Nature as well as the God of Heaven.  The past cannot go back forever, then, there Universe must have a beginning. In the beginning, God created the Heavens and the Earth. The Earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And God said, “Let there be light.” God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. Light is to be understood as both the Light of God and the light of reason that God has kindled in humans in order to guide them on their way toward eternal truth. This method was a form of systematic and empirical inquiry which would guarantee the harmonization between human reason and the natural—and perhaps even the supernatural—universe. This new inductive method would shed light not only on the arcana naturae, but also on the mysteries of the human mind and of human learning. The way to teach all things to humans was first to grasp the significance of a methodical procedure in schooling, to project a plan of Universal education, and to see the significance of education as an agency of international understanding. #RandolphHarris 1 of 7

Education is to be extended to all people, all peoples—should be crowned by a pansophia (encyclopedic synthesis of universal knowledge) of the order of all things within the cosmic order. Education is for the promotion of the great and Worldwide mission of a Universal College, of the great and wise people of the whole World, and an easily constructed international language for the peace and for the reform of the whole World and as an antidote to the confusion of thought. The way of the light is to torch bearers of this enlightened age and bring real philosophy to a happy birth. There is a confident hop that through their endeavors philosophy brought to perfection would exhibit the true and distinctive qualities of things for the constantly progressive increase of all that makes for good mind, body, and estate. There are morally certain indications of proofs warranting the assertion that God exists. The argument is value in itself. The universal consent of nations in the recognition of God must be deemed the voice of the universal reason yielding to the compelling evidence of truth. #RandolphHarris 2 of 7

The whole Universe is a vast, interlocking chain of beautiful things that came into existence. Each of these things must therefore have a cause. The Universe consists of a series of events stretched across time in a long causal chain. Each of these events is the cause of the event that comes after it, and the effect of the event that comes before it. The World as it came from the World as it was, which came from the World as it was before. If we trace this series of events back in time, then what do we find? The first cause argument tells us that the past cannot stretch back into infinity but rather must have a beginning. The argument then proceeds by suggesting that if the Universe has a beginning, then there must be something outside it that brought it into existence. This being outside the Universe, this Creator, the first cause argument tells us, is God. This claim has been confirmed by modern science, who traced the Universe back to the point of origin in the big bang, where there was an explosion that cause life to come into being, this is also documented in the Holy Bible in Genesis. #RandolphHarris 3 of 7

The fact that the Universe began to exist therefore implies that something brought it into existence, the Universe has a Creator. If this Creator were a being like the Universe, a being that exists in time and so that came into existence, then it too would have been created by something. Nothing come from nothing, not even God. This tells us that the ultimate cause of the Universe must never have come into existence; the ultimate Creator must be a being that exists outside of time, and eternal being with neither beginning nor end. Even without any qualification, this is a valid proof of the existence of God and seems to regard the conclusion as established with perfect certainty. Neither general tradition nor the unanimous consent of all people can place any injunction upon the truth. For a variety of reasons, it is true that God exists and created the World, Galaxy, and Universe. We are accustomed to attach great importance to the Universal belief of humankind. It is accepted by us as a convincing argument. That there are gods we infer from the sentiment engrafted in the human; mind; nor has any nation ever been found, so far beyond the pale of law and civilization as to deny their existence. #RandolphHarris 4 of 7

Some philosophers believe that it is innate or instinctive that human beings believe in God from the time that they are born as an image or some other actual content. Or the belief in God may amount to the much milder claim that it I present as a disposition to arrive at the belief when noticing the things in question, the person cannot help coming to believe in God. It is then apparent that this belief in God is instinctive. And the question seems to be, under what circumstances would a human being not possess an innate belief in God? More specifically, let us suppose that a person observes the facts of organic adjustment and experiences a sense of duty and obligation but nevertheless maintains, with all appearance of sincerity, that one does not believe in God. Under what circumstances would it be true to say that one had observed the facts adequately, that one’s religious nature was not clouded or defiled, but that one nevertheless had no belief in God? All of the faculties and feelings of our minds and bodies have their appropriate objects; and the possession of the faculties supposes the existence of God. Thus, the eye, in its every structure, supposes that there is light to be seen, and the ear would be unaccountable and inconceivable without the existence of sound. #RandolphHarris 5 of 7

In the like manner, our religious feelings and aspirations necessitate the existence of God. The yearning for some kind of God does point toward an in-built hunger in each of us—a hunger for something greater than we are. And the absence in the belief in God does not prove absence for a yearning for God; and in fact there are undoubtedly unbelievers who wish they could believe. However, there are also people who do not believe in God, but who are also devoid of any hunger for God. God is a Supreme Being, persona and intelligent, to whom humans own honor and reverence, regardless of what else one also believes or fails to believe. The majority of people use reason in any significant sense in arriving at a fortification for their belief after the original acceptance of God. When I turned to God and by belief accept what God reveals, the miraculous atonement by the Cross of Christ instantly places me into a right relationship with God. And as a result of the supernatural miracle of God’s grace, I stand justified because Jesus Christ gave his life to pay for our sins and granted us salvation. Nothing is free. #RandolphHarris 6 of 7

Ryan PhillippeGod is infinite and the Maker of all humanity. There is another way to look at what it means by saying that nothing is free. God had to give up his only son to set the Universe right after Satan and his demons wreaked havoc on Earth. The opportunity cost of some item is what we give up to get that item. For example, if a farmer and a rancher each spend 8 hours a day working. Time spent producing eggs, therefore, takes away from time available for producing broccoli. As the rancher and farmer reallocate time between producing the two goods, they move along their production possibility frontiers; they give up units of one good to produce units of the other. The opportunity cost measures the trade-off between the two goods that each producer faces. The opportunity cost of an item is what you give up to get that item. Rational people systematically and purposefully do the best they can to achieve their objectives, given the opportunities they have, and it is assumed that most people are rational. God is the creator of reality, he supplies the foundation of morality, and he is also omnipotent, omniscient, and supremely good. #RandolphHarris 7 of 7
