Look, Daddy, Let me Pull your Coat about Political Kool-Aid

There he sat, his very indifference speaking a nature in which there lurked no civilized hypocrisies and bland deceits. Many people run up to the church house and praise God and talk about how they love God so much, but still do some wicked acts on the daily basis. The falsest men will yet bear outward shows of a pure mind. It is like they are crisis actors, paid to go to church, and pretend to be saved, but are much larger sinners than anyone at a nightclub, on a Saturday night. Nothing is so provoking as that a man should preach viciously and act virtuously. What he wanted in purity of heart, he supplied by exterior sanctity. The hardest test many sinners face in their lives is praying. You have to understand going to church only requires their comprehending, believing the teachings of the Deacon, and only requires them to say, “That’s right!” or “I never thought of that.” However, bending on their knees to pray—that act—well, it takes them sometime to get that down. #RyanPhillippe 1 of 5

Their cloak of religion is always ready to cover the dirty stable. They have no problems getting down on their knees to pick a lock to rob someone’s house, often times it is one of the only ways their knees had ever been bent before. They have to force themselves to bend their knees and ask the Lord for forgiveness, but still testimonies of shame and embarrassment force them back up. For it is deviant to many sinners to bend their knees, admitting their guilt, to implore the forgiveness of God—it is the hardest thing in the World, especially when they think they are gods and baby gods. Many of them are the personification of the evil that they are going through. And when they are finally able to force themselves down on their knees to pray to God, they have no idea what to say, the things that they have done in their live time just slide away like snow off a roof. They make believe that it was someone else they knew of who had lived by hustling and committing their crimes. They would be startled to catch themselves thinking that they were actually criminals. #RyanPhillippe 2 of 5

The most professing men were the greatest objects of interest: and their conceit, their vanity, their want of excitement, and their love of deception all prompted to these professions, and were all gratified by them. I have never been one for inaction. Everything I have ever felt strongly about, I have done something about. I expressed my concern to people in the hustling World, such as Craig, the gambling house owner, the Stanford Slut, the thief Jimmy Jumpsteady, and several mule and dope peddlers. I never got more than a sarcastic reply. The average hustler and criminal was too uneducated to see the error of their ways. I have known many slick, sharp-looking Hollywood hustler, who would have you think they has an interest in Wall Street, the News, or Politics; privately, they would get someone else to read a letter if they ever received one. I think it is good that white guilt and black racism has been exposed in modern America. #RyanPhillippe 3 of 5

With hypocrites, proudly humble as they are, vanity will break out sometimes in spite of their cloaks, through but in self-denying, compliment-begging self-degradation. Many people were still so upset about slavery and thought that a certain race was bad, but now you see the color of skin does not matter, it is about the quality of character of a person, not their heritage, race, nor culture. Of all the platitudes which are canted in this canting World—though the clichés of hypocrites may be the worst—the triteness of criticism is the most tormenting! Whatever their comparative rank as artists, people show a different social outlook, different values of life. If springing from higher social environment, some observe ostentatiously a great number of traditional decorums, and if from a lower, they are gushing over with a respectable sentimentality which brought tears to the faces of their contemporaries and smiles or yawns to ours. The decorums of the first group have disappeared from the later group, and their taboos may be said to be almost reversed. #RyanPhillippe 4 of 5

Being an American is great, we have libraries full of good books you can use to read about things and learn new thoughts. However, a lot of people do not like to read or cannot read. Many complain there is nothing good on television, and that is why they medal in the lives of others for entertainment, but that is not true. There are many good shows on television like American Gothic, Empire, Supernatural, Modern Family, Blackish, Scream Queens, and Fresh off the Boat. Every culture, ethnicity, religion, and lifestyle is right there waiting for you. In every free moment I have, I like to read and share things that I find interesting. There is more going on in this World besides politics and celebrity gossip or crime reports. Reading not only opens my mind, but it also broadens my vocabulary and it makes life more enjoyable. For me, reading and sharing what I learned makes me happy and feel safe. Literacy is such a gift—I have never been so free in my life. An exciting idea is like a venomous microbe; it bites into the brain, and if circumstances do not occur to expel it, it produces a form of mania. #RyanPhillippe 5 of 5
