Everything as is– is Fine and Perfect

Obscenity is a permanent element of human social life and corresponds to a deep requirement of the human mind, or, for all we know to the contrary, of mind generally. It is not confined to any nation or any stage of culture, low or high, savage or civilized. It definitely exists and is recognized among the peoples we often call primitive, and it is joyfully manifested by the greatest men of genius among the higher races. The problems connected with the origin and meaning of obscenity is that the root word “obscene” is the same as that of “obscure.” If we realize this fundamental permanence of obscenity, we are relieved not merely from an ambiguous intellectual problem, but from a troublesome moral task all the more annoying since, as experience has shown, it is a labour in vain. Intellectual discrimination and moral tact remain necessary, but our efforts are no longer bound to be futile when we understand that it is our primary task to revalue obscenity. #RyanPhillippe 1 of 5

The most incessant and undaunted exertions may be shadowed by the veil of obscurity. Such a task has ceased to be meaningless when we remember that we have already gone far in a corresponding task: the revaluation of the sex with which obscenity has so largely been associated or confused. By the obscene we may properly mean what is off the scene and not openly shown on the stage of life. That does not mean, it must be added, on the stage of the theatre, for the theatre has often shown what may not be so openly shown in life—art supplementing life—and alike in the greater dramatists and the lesser dramatists there has often been an element of what is correctly regarded as obscenity. When, indeed, we consider that recognized part which it has played on the most admired stages of the Word it is astonishing that it should be necessary to justify obscenity. #RyanPhillippe 2 of 5

I had a conversation weeks ago with someone about how humans used to like for hundreds of years. This person thought that it would be nice if people can still live as long as Methuselah who died at the age of 969. However, as sad as it is, I can understand why God has shortened our live spans. You look at how innocent many children and young adults are, but as some of them age they become so deceptive, sly, and cunning. If people were allowed to live longer than they do now, with as corrupt as the human population is, could you imagine how much worse the World would be? If people have 969 years to figure out how to hustle other, it would be devastating. You see at the age of 60 how obscene some of these people are and the fact that life is limited might be a blessing. Not saying that all people are bad, but those of you who have dated or done business, you know what I am talking about. You end up meeting more bad people in life than good ones. #RyanPhillippe 3 of 5

The moral and religious prohibition cannot be invoked against the excremental obscene, for we are here only concerned with custom and taste in a matter in which custom differs from age to age and taste from individual to individual. Obscenity is here associated with ceremonial activities. Some kinds of collective obscene behaviour, in ordinary life usually taboo, are permitted or enjoined on certain occasions, all of social importance, either religious ceremonies or joint economic undertakings. Economics expresses this changing pattern of group life, a conscious community of soul with the World. Economics, seen through soul, is truly a work of art; it is the work of shaping the soul of the World into a community soul. Economic processes re-create the soul process of the body at a new level, the level of constant mobile flow between individual and World. #RyanPhillippe 4 of 5

At this new level the life-forming process of the body become the realm of production; the ever-present process of dying is re-created as the realm of consumption; and from the flow of respiratory action that continually balances life and death comes the economics of supply and demand, profit and interest. The spirit enlivening this new body is the gift of economy, and the soul that makes graces and messes is money. This economics works with the World; it is the medium through which soul is again enlarged to encompass everything. When there is sufficient grounding in and of the present, suffering associated with the continuation of past patterns or associated memories is tolerated, expressed, and released. The possibility arises to recognize one’s being as already always fully present, with past and future understood as projected constructs that are not required to involve attachment. #RyanPhillippe 5 of 5
