Bien Sur Qu’il me Pardonnera

I feel that none of them has contributed anything of real value to mental science of Cinematography since split themselves from the master. The master himself has actively continued his life’s work despite the bad injuries for over fourteen years. Watching his productions which have appeared within the last few years, one is impressed with the same fluency, alertness, and brilliancy that have always characterized his works. His disciples, of who there are many the World over, have made impressive contributions to the mental sciences, but a deep study of these productions will show nothing that is so novel as not to have been anticipated or implied by the master himself. We who follow him realize this full well, and most of us feel that this state of affairs will continue until his thoughts shall have been better assimilated and more fully developed. #RyanPhillippe 1 of 4

That the World which at first turned its back on him has now recognized his great services to science and culture and film and television is shown by the many honors that have been showered upon him within the last few years. To mention only one of many: His eightieth birthday was an international event. It was celebrated in Vienna at the Wiener Konzerthas and was attended by distinguished scientist, celebrities, and dignities from Vienna and abroad. The birthday oration, which was delivered by his father, Richard Phillippe, is a masterpiece which has been translated into many languages. Here is a excerpt: “The luxuriance of life is attributed to the bounty of the land and the success of children to the bringing-up of the parents. Against your broad and warm heart, I feel keenly the dedication of love. I am proud of you my son.” #RyanPhillippe 2 of 4

In life, we like to limit story construction. Then we can inquire into the existence of reality behind the concept and dissolve the painful feelings associated with fixed ways of thinking. Another simple way to deconstruct a problem is to disidentify with it. We do this by shifting our perspective and seeing what we are doing from a more spacious and detached point of view. Sometimes it is good for a person to stop and ask themselves, “What am I doing right now?” Or what would you say if I randomly asked you, “What would you say you are doing now?” This is an invitation to see what we are doing, as though we were observing from the outside. Often, with no prompting or suggestion, people will say, “I see. I am complaining.” Or, “I am indulging in self-pity.” “I am justifying my rage.” “I am invalidating an accomplishment.” And so on.  #RyanPhillippe 3 of 4

Some gain love for their words and some for their deeds. When we look at ourselves from the outside, we see what we are doing in contrast to just doing it. This either corrects a bad behavior or produces detachment and peace. It seems all news cut off after we left each other for several years. The yearning to you left me hardly wanting to eat anything. The farther the distance was, the deeper the yearning. The longer we leave each other, the deeper we miss each other. How on the steps of a rich man’s house a youth met a few shnorrers. The latter counseled him to depart, saying, “Do not go up today, the Baron is out of sorts and refuses to give any one more than a dollar.” “I will go up anyway,” replied one of the Baron’s friends. “Why in the World should I make him a present of a dollar? Is he making me any presents?” I look forward to seeing you, I want to tell you, “Come back, dearest man!” through the white clouds flying in the sky. #RyanPhillippe 4 of 4
