I am living with Looney Toons day and night, I actually see a jack rabbit, pig, and sugar bears sitting across from me at restaurants—they are my neighbors. Wild things are everywhere. The hallucinations are beginning to take over. Are we not naively assuming that there was a time, some Golden Past, when mankind was somehow free from unreality? People will have to see that the problem we have been addressing is as profoundly a serious threat to the health of the republic. Western societies are being undermined by their own self-inflicted, endless pursuit of mindless pleasures and trivialities, such as drugs, TV, the endless consumption of junk food, useless material times, and trifling ideas.  Techniques such as brainwashing use artificial images, the use of double think, double talk, and personality reshaping.  TV is a vast multi-billion-dollar-a-year entertainment business. It is insidiously, lulling people silently and seductively into a collective dumbness through its very banality by breaking everything down into 15-to-30 second segments of blips. When TV becomes the primary source of “news-entertainment”, and the short descriptions of the issue are not in depth, the inevitable results are not only a society that is uninformed, but there are other devastating consequences. People are not fully adequate, let alone completely convincing, they cannot even fully airtight demonstrate their truth. I remember when I was younger and I was touring the governor’s mansion, and as an ice breaker, I said, “Governor Schwarzenegger is more of a Democrat than a Republic,” the tour guide agreed with me, probably just to be nice, but good thing he did not ask “Why?” because I would not have known the answer, as the was a sound bite I got from the news.  #RyanPhillippe 3 of 9

In college, we are also so rapidly learning that we do not take time to critically think and process ideas, so youth learn to repeat cliché statements, which may or may not be true, are unable to back up their ideas, and actually undereducated, even if they have great grades. We just learn to absorb information, not to think and have discussion. Perhaps school needs to not only be able memorizing ideas, but also applying concepts and learning to back up our ideas. Students need to have better communication skills and be more comfortable speaking. Not just taught to come to class, take notes, accept everything as truth and go home and repeat it. Americans today may be the best entertained, with their Netflix and Chill function and on Demand, but they are the least informed people on the planet. They are willing to elect leaders without even knowing the vision, or paying attention to what the country need. “Hope,” “We got this,” “Change,” and “Pay their fair share” all sounds good, but paying down the national deficit should have been a primary concern, now America is $19.2 trillion in debt because they wanted to look cool and make history. Even if a person cannot answer a question, the audience deserves a response if only for the reason that the objections are worthwhile in themselves. Thus, our responses to them help to clarify our position further even if they run the risk of appearing defensive. This does not mean that we will ridicule or devalue the opinion of someone else, but that it is important individuals are comfortable expressing themselves.  #RyanPhillippe 5 of 9

Americans no longer meet to discuss ideas or to share intellectual propositions, but rather to entertain one another. However, America’s ability to function in a World of perverse complexity is a topic of highest importance. In human affairs we do not have the luxury of hindsight. All we can do is study ourselves during the process of reinventing ourselves because we are no longer producing a new generation of public intellectuals. Our culture is manifesting people who are not able to think for themselves. The human and technical systems we have created are not able to cope with the complexity of the very system, they helped create. For instance, some people believe in reincarnation, which is the philosophical or religious concept that the spirit, after biological death can being a new life in a new body. This young man was engineered to be homosexual, but he does not get along very well with gay men, and although he is attractive, gay men are not very interested in him. He actually, believe it or not attracts more heterosexual men. A metaphysical explanation for homosexuality is that maybe the spirit makes a transition from a female to a male body, for instance, and there is left over emotional residue and attraction from the previous incarnation?  It is possible that we all experienced living as different genders in a past life and that is how we are able to empathize with the opposite sex. If the spirit’s experience was all that mattered and one’s physical existence was literally irrelevant because, from a cosmic perspective, there was no such thing as death, then every living second on Earth was precious precisely because it did relate to a grand overall design which we had helped to create, and precisely because every atom had a purpose, maybe the purpose of this particular collection of atoms writhing around here on the bed was to convey the message that we are a part of the God-force that created things. This is just the type of things that intellectuals discuss, instead of sleazy gossip. He resonates with being a man, has all his man parts, and loves himself. Everyone’s perception of reality would be valid. It is also possible that a sudden form of possession is possible. There are other religions that believe that when someone is near death that other spirits are able to enter the body and take over the host. Nonetheless, in the end we must confront the questions, “What is God’s name have we become?” No one wants to curtail freedom of speech or limit creativity, but careful thought needs to be given to those techniques and technologies that are deemed injurious and must be limited or controlled in some way.
