Why I Love 2 Broke Girls

Life is a tumbleabout thing of ups and downs and dreams are so wonderful that some people stop not short of ascribing them directly to Heaven. 2 Broke Girls is an American television set in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York, USA. The show profiles the lives of Caroline Channing (Beth Behrs) and Max Black (Kat Dennings).

Caroline Channing was raised as the daughter of a multimillionaire investor, who loved his daughter so much and provided her with everything she could dream of. Caroline Channing was basically Paris Hilton, she had everything she could dream of, until one day her father went to prison for allegedly cooking the books and making the best soufflé. As a result, their mansion, private plane, bank accounts, and every possession they owned in the World, including their clothes are taken away and sold at auction.

Max Black grew up in the ghetto, she was very poor. Max and her mother often skipped meals, could not afford to pay the rent or the electricity bill. They would often times have to take cold showers, wear clothes from Good Will, and were exposed to drugs, crimes, and other dangerous situations people in poverty face. So Max had a very different view on life, as she was used to being screwed over, the Christmas gifts being stolen by crack heads, and the rent money coming up missing out of the sock drawer.

Caroline and Max both met at as employees, at a questionable diner. The owner of the diner is a bisexual little man named Han, there is also a pimp that runs the kitchen, and a prostitute that is a frequent customer. Max and Caroline become friends, and get a rent controlled Apartment in a high rise housing project, which is not necessarily the safest place to live. Because they want to escape from the slums and poverty, the girls come up with the idea to pool their money together and open a cupcake shop called “Max’s Cupcakes.”

I really love this show 2 Broke Girls because Max helps Caroline get used to living a normal life, she protects Caroline from getting snatched up by pimps and from getting strung out on drugs that rich men so desperately want to put her on. Caroline shows Max that life is not all doom and gloom and shows her some of the privileges of being rich and what the high class life can afford. To Max, a nice clean apartment, with nice furniture is Heaven, but to Caroline, it is very basic.

These two girls work very hard together to achieve their dream and they open their cupcake business, and Caroline even sacrifices the love of her life to keep the business afloat, but the business ends up failing and the girls are back working at the diner full time. Caroline them takes a temporary job and gets hired at a corporation, and she was really excited because it was her path to success, yet Max gets her fired.

Max then says it is because she does not want Caroline to give up on her dream. Later on the girls open up another cupcake shop and have to fight to keep it from getting torn down, and the win, but the cupcake shop is still not popular. So they are in danger of going bankrupt.

I really like this show because it shows you how reality works, you can open your business and invest, but you may lose it all. Also, it teaches people how important perseverance is. No matter how bad life gets, the girls keep trying and never give up. Another lesson is no matter how close your friends are, do not trust them too much because they could end up ruining your chance to get ahead.
