Success in project is everything. Versatility is the foundation of success. So I finally did it, I joined a dating web site, I have not posted my picture yet, or talked to anyone, but I figured this was a step in the right direction. Apparently, being successful requires knowing people. And I am not necessarily looking to have a romantic relationship, but I would like to make a friend, or build a network. You cannot do it on your own.

I look at the people, in Sacramento, and it is a very unique market. Many of them date or are married to their colleagues, so I figure maybe this is the secret? You will need the help of others—and you will need to give help to others—if you want to be successful. And that will require you to connect with others. Remember to express your highest enthusiasm, your greatest optimism, and your most triumphant experiences.

Victory depends upon ardor more than numbers, and it is the heart that gives success. The objective to being successful is to focus on people, be likeable, show others than you care, and remember everyone’s name. Walk slowly through the crowd, and be generous. A young man, from the city, graduated from college with a degree in journalism, and got a job at a small-town newspaper. One of his first assignments was to interview a celebrity, who lived in Beverly Hills. As he sat with the successful man on his front porch, the young journalist looked at his notepad and started asking his questions.

One of the first questions he asked was, “Sir, what time do you go to work in the morning?” The actor chuckled and replied, “Son, I don’t go to work. I am surrounded by it. And I saw those pictures of yourself you have been trading with someone online. You got a reaction. Watch it, man.” We can learn a lesson from the successful actor. Opportunities are a lot like his work. They are everywhere. However, the problem is that we often do not have the eyes to see them. If you want to be successful, then be governed by your finest thoughts.

As you approach each day, look around. Be aware. If you do not see opportunities, remember that it is not because they are not around. You are always surrounded by them. You simply need to open your eyes and see them. Then act on them. You will be as small as your controlling desire, as great as your dominant aspiration. Love what you are doing, believe in your product, and select good people. People who have given up are ruled by their darkest mistakes, worst failures, and deepest regrets.
