So many male adults are nothing more than a gang of vulnerable boys, and they are obscurely aggressive and crying for attention because they are not happy, nor are their lives fulfilled, and it is probably because they are not owning their manhood, but instead being dishonest with themselves.

People change, as they grow, and what may have been true in your 20s, many not be when you are in your 40s. There are those, however, who value the landmark elevation of the thoughtful spectator, who stands aloof from the heated scramble; and, above the turmoil and din of corruption and selfishness, can listen to the teachings of eternal truth and righteousness.

In a dream I had many years ago: I am at my parents’ house, and 20 years after he graduated from high school, my older brother was still living at home, being an anchor baby. Not only did he buy a big bed, and place in his old bedroom, but the anchor baby also moved into my old bedroom, and was sleeping on the floor, and having delusions grandeur about getting up off of the floor and moving to San Francisco. Of course, in this dream, my parents wanted their house to themselves, and could not understand why this man, who had been out of high school for 20 years, was still living at home, and occupying not one, but two bedrooms in their home smoking and, walking around, acting tough.

In this dream, I got so upset with him, that I grabbed him by his shoulders, shook him, and yelled at him, I told him that he needs to get a grip, and that he is not mature enough to move to San Francisco, is required to be more rational, get a local job, his own place, and move out of our parents’ house so they could have some privacy and enjoy their freedom.

So this dream was a reflection that if one is still acting the same way they did when they were 20, and are now 40, something is wrong. And instead of being polite, people have to learn to tell the truth, even if it is painful. Although, I can see that my brother was in pain, having an identity crisis, and was lonely. So I want to help other young men not get stuck in this vicious cycle of trying to be a man.

Being a man does not mean that you always get your way, nor does it mean you are drunk to have your first sexual encounter. Being a man means that you plan out your life and do things that help you become a provider. Competitiveness and forcefulness will make you stall and inhibit your growth. Men are also supposed to be caring and kind, these are qualities that are at the very heart of being a man, and that is why people find father’s so attractive.

Fathers have gotten over trying to be hard and bad, they have children and have learned to love them and have fun, and that is reflected in their personality, which is why men with children are generally so successful, as they as fully male. They have embraced determination and sacrifice.

While making your way into manhood, it is beneficial to have some knowledge of self and economics also. Before you have a sexual encounter, make sure that you have a deep connection with the person. There is nothing wrong with a man who is still a virgin, you are still a man, and have a lot of power to be able to control your sexual urges.

And if you are not a virgin, it is okay to turn down sexual encounters, which is a great way to protect yourself from taking on responsibilities you are not ready for.
