Truth is not afraid to appeal to future and further discoveries for a sanction to the present. How can that be trustworthy that teaches distrust? Time truly works wonders.

Time sublimates wine; it sublimates fame; nay, is the creator thereof; of fables distills truths; and smooths, levels, glosses, softens, melts, and meliorates all things.  Could we see Time’s full face we were wise of him.

No one is to blame for suffering an evil he cannot avoid. However, gold is purified by fiery trials. Yet truth is veiled, because we could no more look upon his glory than we can upon the sun. Nonetheless, each bright start is overheard somewhere.

We love to feel within us the bond which unites the most distant eras, men, nations, customs, perish; the affections are immortal. They are the sympathies which unite the ceaseless generations. The past lives again, when we look upon its emotions, it lives in our own. That which was, ever is.
