Nothing in the newspaper is ever true. And that is why they are so popular the taste of the age being so decidedly for fiction. Bear with me a little longer and I will show you that there is more to be said in God’s behalf. I get my knowledge from afar; I will ascribe justice to my Maker. Be assured that my words are not false; one perfect in knowledge is with you.

There are in most societies a set of self-important young men who borrow consequence from singularity and take precedency in wisdom from the unfeeling use of the ludicrous; this is at best a shallow quality; in objects of eternal moment, it is poisonous to society. The worst kind of slander is to speak well of everybody.

Slander: a lot that often falls from bad men’s mouths upon good men’s names and professions. Vice hath not a more abject slave; society produces not a more odious vermin; nor can the devil receive a guest more worthy of him, nor possibly more welcome to him, than a slanderer. Frequently do we labor to secure the things that debase us into slaves, and overwhelm us with calamity.

However, there is something indescribably delicious in concentration of the mind. It raises a man above himself and makes him feel a certain nobleness and elevation of character, of the possession of which he was to that hour unconscious. God is mighty, but does not despise men; he is mighty, and firm in his purpose. He does not keep the wicked alive, but he gives the afflicted their rights.

. God does not take his eyes off the righteous; he enthrones them with kings and exalts them forever. However, if men are bound in chains, held fast by cords of affliction, he tells them what they have done—that they have sinned arrogantly. He makes them listen to the correction and commands them to repent of their evil.

We are long before we are able to think, and we soon cease from the power of acting. Thought was busy though the lips were silent. Excessive rumination and self-questioning is perhaps a morbid habit inevitable to a mind of much moral sensibility when shut out from its due share of outward activity and of practical claims on its affections.

If people obey God and serve him, they will spend the rest of their days in prosperity and their years in contentment. However, if they do not listen, they will perish by the sword and die without knowledge.

The godless in heart harbor resentment; even when he fetters them, they do not cry for help. They die in their youth, among male prostitutes of the shrines. Be careful that no one entices you by riches; do not let a large bribe turn you aside. Would your wealth or even all your mighty efforts sustain you so you would not be in distress? Do not long for the night, to drag people away from their houses.

Beware of turning to evil, which you seem to prefer to affliction. Who is this that darkens my counsel with words without knowledge? Brace yourself like a man; I will question you and you shall answer me. Where were you when I laid the Earth’s foundation? Tell me, if you understand. Who marked off its dimensions? Surely you know!

Who dares open the doors of his mouth, ringed about with his fearsome teeth? What are men to rocks and mountains? When we return [from our travels], it shall not be like other travelers, without being able to give one accurate idea of anything. Let out first effusions be less insupportable than those of the generality of travelers.

As the brother never foresaw anything at a distance, but was most sagacious in immediately seeing everything the moment it happened; so the sister eternally foresaw at a distance, but was not so quick-sighted to objects before her eyes. As the sister often foresaw what never came to pass, so the brother often saw much more than was actually the truth.

All things on Earth have their price; and for truth we pay the dearest. We barter it for love and sympathy. It is a melancholy truth that even a great person has their poor relations. The road to honor is paved with thorns; but on the path to truth, at every step you set your foot down on your own heart.

After Job had prayed for his friends, the LORD made him prosperous again and gave him twice as much as he had before. All his brothers and sisters and everyone who had known him before came and ate with him in his house.

They comforted and consoled him over all the trouble the LORD had brought upon him, and each one have him a piece of silver and a gold rim. The LORD blessed the latter part of Job’s life more than the first. He had a fourteen thousand square foot mansion, six BMWs, several flat screen TVs and money. And he also had seven sons and three daughters.

Nowhere in all the land was there found women as beautiful as Job’s daughters, and their father granted them an inheritance along with their brothers. After this, Job lived a hundred and forty years; he saw his children and their children to the fourth generation. And so he died, old and full of years.

There is no China Wall that man can build in his soul, which shall permanently stay the irruptions of those barbarous hordes which Truth ever nourishes in the loins of her frozen, yet teeming North; so that the Empire of Human Knowledge can never be lasting in any one dynasty, since Truth still gives new Emperors to the Earth.
