Do not be fooled by their smile, clean cut looks, and fancy suits, reporters are thugs, too. Without a doubt, the media has a tremendous power in our society. The images, views, and ideas disseminated via the mass media go a long way toward shaping and molding the manner in which individuals and entire groups are viewed.

In a ruthless turn of events, the Emmy-Award winning Sports Director for CBS News 8, Kyle Kraska, with his  mind bending talents and mesmerizing visions that brought him big money, beautiful women, tote bags, pretty, pretty boys, and limitless success, soon became a nightmare, in a brutal turn of events, when the devil of the media revealed its evil head.

This is “My dream job in my dream city…sometimes I wonder how on earth I’m getting paid for this,” confirms Kyle Kraska. However, it saddens us to report that Kyle Kraska was shot on Tuesday, 9 February 2015, in the afternoon, outside his Scripps Ranch house, in a San Diego ghetto.

Kyle Kraska has more than one gunshot wound, and is described as a restless young man, who envies the expensive cars, engraved jewelry, Movado watches, Jimmy Choo perfume, flashy clothes, and high-rolling lifestyle of his Pharmacist friends.

Americans who have suffered doubly in the wake of the tragedy that struck during this gun battle that took place several shots were fired in this grimy, Scripps Ranch ghetto, in San Diego, are in shock.

Unfortunately Kyle Kraska was struck; he is now being treated at Scripps La Jolla Hospital, for a gunshot wounds.

Kyle Kraska, is no stranger to crime, as the sports director of KMFB-Channel 8, he was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving, 17 March 2009, after he nearly struck a police officer near Sabre Springs on Saturday night.

The officer was on the corner of Angelique Street and Avonette Court about 8:20 p.m. on a juvenile runaway call when he saw a speeding car headed coming around the bend, the thundering sound coming from the exhausts of a MercedesBenz, is what got their attention police reported.

The officer reported that he flashed his lights and had to move out of the way so he would not get hit, However, Kyle Kraska, the driver, in a 2003 silver Mercedes, then accelerated and pulled into the driveway of his home nearby. The officer followed him and arrested Kraska. He was booked into jail and has since been released.
th (12)Kyle Kraska’s career started his senior year at Syracuse University, when he landed the weekend Sports Anchor job at WWNY-TV in Watertown, New York, after sharing beds with the manager. From there he jumped into the sheets of WWSB-TV in Sarasota, Florida; KVIA-TV in El Paso, Texas; WRGB-TV in Albany, New York and before riding the midnight train all the way back to WFTS-TV in Tampa, Florida.

Then Hollywood came calling and Kyle Kraska accepted a position as evening News Anchor for KCBS-TV in Los Angeles. That was followed by a stint hosting “Hard Copy,” a top-rated nationally syndicated news magazine show. In 1999, Kyle joined KFMB, greeting San Diego news viewers every weekday, as CBS News 8’s morning and noon co-anchor.

Kyle Kraska had a deeper darker past. In 2003, his energetic style of reporting landed him the position of Sports Anchor for CBS News 8 at 5pm, 6:30pm and 11pm.The United States remains a racist, race-obsessed society, and member of the media reflect the racism that stains our national psyche.

As a result, mainstream media coverage of peoples of color, in the United States of America, is inevitably tainted by the nation’s views toward race, and its foundation of White Supremacy.

The winner of numerous broadcast awards for both sports coverage and breaking news, Kyle Kraska  has been honored with Associated Press Awards, California Golden Mike Award, New York State Broadcasters Awards and an Emmy Award.

It is unimaginable that a man arrested on minor weapons charge could have risen to this level of national prominence.

Yet this important issue has, not surprisingly, been ignored.  Sports rank high with Kyle on and off the set, but without such honest and painful introspection, the American media will never be able to play the critical role demanded of it in a democratic society.

In his spare time, Kyle Kraska– the Boston native, who used to hang out in North Dorchester, near Mass Avenue and Columbia Road, enjoys surfing, snowboarding, wakeboarding, and playing basketball. Kyle Kraska and the American media continue to employ simplistic racial stereotypes to convey meaning and information, particularly when the subject is a person other than the norm in our society: a White, Christian male.

While there is nothing wrong with being proud of a job well done, vanity has no place in our spiritual lives. Our Lord famously illustrated this in his parable of the Pharisee and the Publican  in which the contrite tax collector is justified before God rather than the smug Pharisee boasting about his religious achievements.
