Just yesterday, after praying to win the ugly Christmas Sweater Challenge, Patrick Crawford was gunned down Wednesday Morning 17 December 2014, in Central Texas, USA. Patrick Crawford is a meteorologist for NBC’s KCEN, and as he was leaving work, as a young man approached him; and what began as trash talk between the two men quickly escalated.

Retribution, swift vengeance, eternal malice were in his whole aspect, and spite of all the mortal man could do, the solid white buttress of his forehead smote the ship’s starboard bow, till men and timers reeled. For little more than the pleasure of revenge and the lust of bloodshed, our hostile clans do the work of executioners on each other.

The suspect produced a semi-automatic hand gun and fired at Patrick Crawford. After being shot twice, once in the arm and once in the torso, Patrick Crawford drop a few moments and was able to get the attention of a construction worker, who summoned emergency services. Patrick Crawford was transferred to Scott and White Memorial Hospital in Temple, and is in the operating room for surgery.

Witnesses report it was like a high-stakes action thriller starring Matt Dillon, they had never seen something like this go down before in this bedroom community. However, employees of the News station are on lock down and told not to leave the building, while the investigation is underway.

A Texas ranger, holding a camera, went into the station and collected names, birthdays, licenses plate numbers of all employees.

Police are investigating the possibility that the gunfire stemmed from a feud between rival gangs in the area, as  Patrick Crawford was shot after having words with a Male, White, in his Mid-30s, gang attire: blue jeans and a black hoody. The shooting has had a chilling effect on a neighborhood unaccustomed to gun battles.

Robert Johnson, age 31, whose house is near the station, remembers the days when disputes were settled by fisticuffs rather than firearms, when gangs were confined to New York or Los Angeles. He says news of the shooting spree shocked him.

“When I was a kid, you got in a fight and that was it. I just can’t understand using guns, especially for something like this…I was raised a little differently. The parents these days need to teach kids about respect and honor. I’m upset, because I have children, and they go over there a lot. Damned if I know how to solve this entire but I know most parents aren’t taking care of their kids. They just let them run around and let them do whatever they want,” reports Robert Johnson.
